Nice smaller hardware store with decent prices and good selection.
Needed oil for my lawn mower. Directed to aisle it was on. Requested help so I would buy the right kind. Someone was paged. Waited and waited. Saw an employee. Told me he would help me in a minute. Waited. Ask him again and he said it would be a minute. Told him I would just go somewhere else and he said good. Im sure the owner would love to know how customers are treated there. Refused to give me his name. No one else seemed interested in helping. He has short dark hair. Waters a scrappy red shirt twice when I was in there and a black mask. Very discourteous to customers
Seems to be the last three times Ive been there they are extremely rude to their customers Ive noticed but maybe its a side effect from covid prices of some products are pretty reasonable compared to the big box guys
Normally this is my favorite store. I went to return a spray bottle of siding cleaner and had a problem, the owner rectified the situation.
Definitely getting better... Remodel at front of store makes it akward to enter but is much better when your checking out overall much better. Can be difficult to find a salesperson (I say because the girls here rock !) And the back aisles are a bit overwhelming...
Once again this place had what I needed PLUS something unexpected.......Always have what I need and if they dont nobody else does. I have both a Home Depot and Lowes closer but you are my first stop before going anywhere else. Long story longer. Needed an FS25 starter and of course I knew you would have it. After finding it also found the 26 inch T8 tube we have been looking for for over 2 years. Thanks again!
Im so thankful to have such a great Hardware store on the Island! The selection is very good for such a small store, and the prices are fair. Steve is great and has been there a long time and is very knowledgeable. The seasonal help is pleasant but not overly friendly and outgoing. But, they do try to help when I ask.
Guis is always our first stop when we need items for the home. Today I bought grass seed and hooks to hang plants
Walked in today to buy a few items. The female checkout person (dark hair) never said hello or goodbye when I checked out. Not a friendly place to be I guess. Had a problem with one of the guys who was assisting with paint once too. What a shame, because its on the Island and close by. The Home Depot is a few more miles away and has a welcoming and helpful atmosphere. I guess it might be worth the few extra miles.
First off let me say I am a firm believer in supporting local business owners. I bought a padlock from the store yesterday and used the $5 coupon I received in the mail. I always forget them when I shop there and I was proud I remembered it. Today I realized the lock was not going to work for the job so i wanted to exchange for a more expensive lock. At check out the Girl said Im sorry I cant apply the discount to the new purchase? Why? Im spending more money. She said I just work here. I said fine. Return my stuff and Ill go to Lowes. She said again I just work here and dont make policy. I usually try to find what I need at the mom and pop shop before hitting the big chain stores. I know $5 is not a lot of money but its a principal thing. I would guess Ive spent on average $500 to $1000 a year on average in this store. I can get this lack of customer service at the big chain stores. So from now on I will make the treck over the bridge to Home depot or Lowes from now on. And they wonder why the small businesses are going by the wayside.
As a longtime Grand Island resident, I have the option of going to Home Depot or Guis. As much as possible, I go to Guis for my hardware needs. It has just about everything you need, and now that they are partnered with Ace Hardware, the prices and deals are great. They generally go out of their way to ask if I need help and are very knowledgeable. This is a good business.
Just went to rent a carpet cleaner and the girl asked if I wanted the extension pieces that go with, I asked if there was an additional charge and she said no. While she was ringing me up I noticed these extra charges and what they were and she said its for the additional pieces. She said there was no charge, needless to say watch what they charge you for.

Very disappointed. One of their employees which I asked for his name, Joshua p, was very sarcastic when I asked for help. He made me feel like I was stupid for asking a question that I didnt know. No one there seemed like they wanted to be there or help anyone and I will never go there again!!!!

2022-02-19Helpful staff, pretty good stock. They load up heavier items for you. They dont have the variety of the big box stores, but theyll have the vast majority of what you need. This local business gets the job done!

2021-11-22A great place on the island to get your home needs. The staff are helpful and the selection is large considering the store is not. I highly recommend trying here first before going to Niagara Falls or into Buffalo.

2022-04-04Online listed they had the grill we looking for. Cashier told us, theres all the grills right there, and pointed. She was a miserable lady who we had no desire to interact with further. We found what we were looking for at another store.

2021-08-31I never picked up my online order but it was marked as picked up. When I went to the store, the young lady manager Mia was rude with me and said there is nothing she can do and asked me to come/call another day to talk to different manager to get refund. After few mins, I called customer care and they phoned-in to store and got me the refund processed immediately. The manager Mia was NOT honest and didnt want to respect neither help customer. I am surprised how come she is given such a position. Also this store doesnt seems to be genuine with customers, they cant mark in system that order is picked up when it wasnt. Manager didnt even apologize for this. Based on my experience during multiple visits to this store, I noticed that the people work in this store has problem with colored people.

2021-03-09I gave the store a call and asked for some prices on hardware bits. An employee took my number down so he could check the prices and what they had in the store. I usually bother Steve for assistance but Anthony was the employee who took care of me and was much help. Great guys over at that store I will be back as always!

2020-10-07I love this place it’s locally owned which I love. I’m in there enough that everyone knows my name (and it’s not Norm) Staff is always friendly, the cashiers are top notch always greet you with a smile and best of all there’s always someone there to help you. Mia does a fantastic job always has something nice to say and I know I bother Steve way too much...

2019-04-14The amount of inventory in the place is crazy. Always have everything I need and 9 times out of 10 they are cheaper the Depot or Lowes. Staff is so helpful. I challenge anyone to find someone in the industry more knowledgeable in hardware and solving my problems then the manager of this store. Always look forward to going here.
