Guitar Center in other cities:
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Manager Tom provided top tier customer service. This was the only physical store in nyc outside Manhattan with a specific piece of audio equipment. Wish I played guitar to visit more often. Seriously top tier service attitude, assistance everything. They located an item for me in stock they didnt even know existed. I cant say enough kind words. Thanks again especially Tom.
My father was looking for a microphone last minute for a birthday party, so our first option was guitar center right. Luckily, a young man named Griffin was able to help us and get us in an out in less than 10 minutes. He looked around the back room multiple times to find exactly what we were looking for and gave us a great price, best customer service we have seen.
I bought Gemini party caster, Chris helped me to buy it and explained me properly. Gemini had manufacturing problem on one of the microphones, they replaced me the new one. The New one had no microphone inside the box !!! They replaced me with the other one. Eagle helped me out every issues with her extraordinary customer service
Not what I want to rate it but due to the being under staffed and unable to help the customers, standing around for 40 mins and waiting for the gentlemen to actually help. Turns out he was too busy helping someone else or so I was told. Not contented with the help as I have been going to Guitar center for years and was able to get impeccable service! Please address the poor customer service.
The guitars that they have are pretty cool and unique, but most of them are locked up and you can’t play them. My experience with customer service was absolutely awful,, i have autism and needed to get a sting replacement and they refused to replace it, ended up replacing it myself and the string popped back at my face and I got hurt. as a person who needed accommodations, I wouldn’t recommend shopping here, they won’t assist you and if they do you’ll be standing by the counter for about 40 minutes.
Waest of time! I was going to buy 2 18’s buffers bass and a set of 4 speakers 🔊 with a mixer!!I was there for 40 minutes it was only one guy at the cashier and everyone was waiting to get help!! 👎 but if you want to Waest time!! Other than that I can’t comment cause it was gonna be my first buy…
The store is small, but theyve probably got what youre looking for. The staff is dope. I could probably talk to them all day. Initially went in to get an input jack fixed on my bass, but the staff is so dope, I might drop damn near a grand on a new Fender Bass (that buttercream color was CALLING ME). 6/5 stars. Will be back soon.
I got my first guitar here and it was like a cheap acoustic one cause I wanted to see if i could get into the hobby. The guy there was super helpful and told me some useful stuff but while we were checking out he like moved back and started talking with his coworker about how bad the guitar I was buying was. Like bro im sorry for having a budget and he literally recommended the guitar to me😢😢😢😢
Horrible customer service. We wanted to get an item behind a locked window. Several employees walked right past us before we could ask for help, even once they had finished with other customers, and they had seen us waiting for them to finish. We couldn’t get anyone’s help, and stood waiting for 30 minutes. I’m disappointed that the employees didn’t seem to want to offer help and that they refused to acknowledge us.
I had to return an item and I received beyond stellar customer service from an employee called Jose.He was very polite and attentive, and made the return process hassle free. The location also offers a good selection of quality instruments at really good prices.Would recommend!
Had a small issue with my guitar strings and called GC the day before. Despite all the guitar techs off for NYE the manager Faivel kindly invited me to swing by and see what he could do. Not only did he fix my problem he was super gracious and polite. I never understand the negative reviews here. The entire staff here is cool and kind and always makes me feel welcome. What a great way to kick off the new year with a nice stroke of kindness.
The Menager is great!!! I had a problem with one of my orders (Microphone Shure BLX24R/B58 - The parts were missing from the box), but I got no complains because Menager handled the whole situation in a great way! and exchanged the product with the replacement! 100% recommend this store, Thank you once again!
HORRIBLE COSTUMER SERVICE!!!! Do NOT come here. Went looking for an electric-acoustic guitar and found one after looking around for an hour since no one was really helping. That guitar was the only one available in that model at the store so I decided to purchase it. They tried to sell me multiple accessories and kept pushing even after I declined. They also tried selling me this guitar, which was damaged, and did not tell me it was defective until I noticed the said damage and pointed it out myself. I ended up ordering it online and when I received it, it was damaged anyway. The string was broken which made a very weird buzz when played. We brought it to the store and they barely did anything. They looked at it for a bit and tightened the bottom of the neck. They gave it back and said it was perfect now. When I tried explaining that it was still not sounding good, employees tried justifying that I cant expect a guitar to be in perfect conditions when it comes from a warehouse and if i wanted to sound good it would not be free. I had to really tell them I was not willing to keep a broken guitar and be okay with it before they agreed to give me a refund. Employees were very rude and unpleasant to talk to. They were very unhelpful and unprofessional, barely explained what was wrong with my guitar and very vague when asked directly. Overall was a horrible experience and I do not recommend this store. If you want to go to a Guitar Center do NOT come to this location. You will leave upset.
Very knowledgeable staff, and above average service. This place is not as great as the Guitar Center in Carl Place, but it comes close. They have a lot of gear and arent pushy to make a sale. Employees are engaging to customers. They dont disappear like magicians when asked a question pertaining to a product like the Guitar Center on 14 street in Manhattan. You can always find one. They know the products and when asked, can make a knowledgeable recommendation.Great displays and well laid out departments. Its not messy and disorganized like some other stores Ive been . And a friendly staff also. They keep late hours and theres plenty of parking also. Large selection of impulse items around register stations. Cool product demos from some products too. Sale items are easy to find, not hiding in some back room. There are always displayed.... overall, a great place to shop....
It takes forever to get help at this place. Last time I went I had to wait 15 - 20 minutes just to pay for a simple cable that I picked up.This time I left empty handed because as far as I could tell there were 2 employees on the floor and they each had several people waiting on them. I waited about 10 minutes or so but those 2 employees were still helping the same people from 10 minutes ago while the other customers were still waiting for help.
They could have been just understaffed but in my experience today, the service was very slow. When you ask a staff member theyll say someone will be with you shortly but nobody comes. Every staff member is avoiding eye contact and would disappear. Not exaggerating, this was just my experience today.
Friendly & helpful staff, with a wide variety of stock. They let you test guitars too! That helps a lot when it comes to deciding. While you could order a guitar online, its better to try one on person so you can get a feel of its comfortable or not. You dont want to get a guitar then end up not being able to use it due to a thick neck.
A review that is long overdue. back in 2010, i purchased a new gibson les paul standard for 2499.00 USD. the guitar was not in stock at the moment and the purchase was done via online, ordered by staff to ship to store (just in case in needed a light set up for intonation, action, etc. . . ). I return to the store the following week, after being notified that the guitar has arrived to the store, only to find my guitar out of the package and hung in the display section. It was very unprofessional and poor communication among the staff, and I still ended up paying the full price for the les paul. Be very cautious when shipping it to the store, you do NOT want to see your brand new guitar being played by others. . .
This location is great for any Music and rental needs. I needed the longer DMX cables and a DMX controller. The sales person was super helpful in getting all the thing I needed. They did not have the longer 100 ft cables on the shelves and the sales person went in the back to see if they have any and got me 2 100ft cables.
Guitar Center in Queens started off my gift shopping season wonderfully this year. Managers Foisal and Cody went above and beyond to make sure I got the best deals during their Black Friday sales event. They gave me a price adjustment on a guitar I bought my daughter a couple of days before the sale and applied a 15% coupon on the rest of the items I bought for the guitar. Along with the rest of the friendly team that helped me find the right instrument and gear, everyone at this location was awesome. Needless to say I left a happy customer with a new Guitar Center credit account to keep myself happy throughout the year.
Bought new strings for my guitar today and I received exceptional service from Justin who works at the guitar counter. He went above and beyond, not only did he recommend a great product, he changed all of the strings, cleaned my guitar and fixed the action. Thanks !!
Much better than the one on 14th street. Not as crowded or feel rushed with attitude. The Salesman know their stuff here and take their time with you to educate and explain. Ive never made a bad putchase from this place. Everyone is nice and helpful with experience and product knowledge. If one doesnt know, theyll find someone on staff that does. Super easy shopping experience! Love this place!
The staff was responsive since when we were outside to explain procedure for entering store.Covid regulations are taken seriously. The associates are diligent and knowledgeable.Shopping experience is good. Many products are in back order due to pandemic but staff can help you figure out delivery time frames. Some products like mics are covered with plastic for sanitary/ health reasons. We were happy to leave with what we needed.
Guitar center was my second, unintended stop and man was that a great decision. I had visited Sam Ash on Queens Blvd. and literally stood in front of a salesman for 20 minutes. He never even bothered acknowledging me. Another walked by and as I got his attention, he said sorry sir not my department. So I walked out and went to guitar center where as soon as I walked in I was greeted and attended to. My go-to spot for production equipment going forward. Not that it matters, but I spent $9,000 on this one trip. Sam Ash will be closed soon at that rate. Never going there again.
This Guitar Center is a great place to go on a Saturday if you want to waste part of your day trying to figure out who can ring you up for a set of strings. Turns out the two employees behind the counter are in long interactions with other customers. If youre lucky enough to get their attention theyll look around aimlessly and let you, and the growing crowd of customers looking to check out, know that there should be someone else that can ring you up even though there is no designated check out for quick purchases. I guess thats the game. Clearly guitar center doesnt value their customers time and doesnt care whether or not they get your money.
I frequently this location often. Im a former music producer and now a Master Barber. I still do music creation on my free time. So when I need to get something I stop by how ever, ... every time I visit its not always the most pleasant experience. Amazingly enough it just depends on who you end up with unless your like me and you try and stick with the same person for as long as possible. One thing I dont like is that the sales staff gets moved around pretty often and not to many people are knowledgeable in pro audio and music creation software. I did meet a African American gentleman his name was Mark K B. Dude was awesome. He was one of the most knowledgeable sales men Ive ever came across and although I didnt plan on making a purchase on this day. He made me feel comfortable enough to buy the Cubase 10 that the General Manager Fosil was supposed to get back to about. When I didnt hear from him I went in to speak with him and ended up with an Assistant Manager that had no clue how to help me and called on Mark. To say the least It was very frustrating to know a Manager couldnt help me after grilling me like I was delusional and making up a story about waiting on the gm to reach out to me about a purchase I was waiting to make. so he called the gm after putting me through the ringer with 8,000 questions on repeat like he wasnt understanding, when all he had to do was pull up the invoice and read the notes that the GM placed on my order. Only to still not know anything about it to help me make my purchase. A regular sales man saved the day and turned this review from a negative to a positive. If Mark leaves that store Im going to follow him. He definitely knows more then his supervisor and will be the only reason I still continue to shop there.
Customer service was just HORRIBLE!! I came to make an exchange due to Guitar Center delivering me the wrong guitar. To start, I was sent from one rep to another, until one rep finally decided to stay and help me. It seemed like no one wanted to deal with doing an exchange! So the rep who remained helping me seemed to not even know WHAT he was doing! He was constantly asking others for help!! And to add to it, he kept checking out other customers, while doing my exchange, instead of finishing up with me!! I had to bring this to his attention and he said he wanted to help everyone and that an exchange takes long Excuse me?!?! Youre NOT helping ME by helping 10 other customers!!! It WOULD be nice to get quality individual customer service here instead of sharing my turn and time with others!! I have never seen such a thing!! Mind you, I had a 4 month old baby on hand since I thought it would be a 5-10 minute process! So I asked him if he can complete my transaction BEFORE helping other customers---I didnt know I had to ASK for this!! In all, something that should have taken not more than 10 minutes took an hour to get done---due to an incompetent worker and horrible customer service!!! By the time I got out of there, I was helped by at least 5 reps and none of them was able to fully complete my transaction! If I can help it, I will NEVER EVER go back here again. If you want to know what HORRIBLE customer service is, go here!! Of not, STEER CLEAR!!!!
Just bought a Fender guitar starter set bundle for my son, staff was on point, reliable, friendly service. Knowledgable of the brands demand and the industry. Had an old guitar repaired and the technician gave us options, they never took advantage of overpricing (like some car mechanics do when you dont understand)), lol). Great atmosphere and test/ session rooms for privacy.
Terrible repair job. My guitar started buzzing in January. Sent it in for repair in February. Picked it up. Still buzzing. Took it back. Picked it up and same problem. Took it back again! Returned after several months (because of quarantine) and had to buy a gift card to retrieve it. After waiting an hour, I find out it’s in worse shape than it was when I brought it in the first time. It buzzes everywhere now, open strings too. They still billed me $115 for it after hearing what it sounded like. I was so unhappy that I just took it home. I haven’t heard my guitar in working shape since February.. it is now Mid-June.
I love Guitar Center, but dont go to this store.I bought a new Ibanez guitar, but after acclimating at my house it developed a fret buzz on the high E string near the nut that I couldnt remedy without raising the action too high. I brought it in, suspecting that one nut slot was cut just a bit too deep, and since it was a new guitar hoped they would take a look for free (I could have just returned it, otherwise). When I came to pick it up, they charged me $75 for a setup and new strings. Thats almost a quarter of what I paid for the guitar. And since I had already done the neck relief, intonation etc. myself, I dont know what that money was for. The fret buzz was still there, too. When I explained the situation, they insisted to leave the guitar and let the tech take another look.No refund, no apology. And my guitar has been gone for almost a week now and I havent heard back.
They have many great instruments including guitars, pianos and lots more plus it includes DJ sets and equipment as well, so come down to shop til you drop with friends and families and feel the beat to the music. Also remember to bring kids cause they love to practice and play music.
The place is perfect but their repair service is poor. I called them on the phone to purchase Fender Sonoran Acoustic guitar. The guy on the phone told me that the item is available. When I come to the store to purchase it, they said they dont have the guitar. Then I purchased the guitar online and left it their for set up. They promised me 2 weeks to finish the set up. After 2 weeks, I called to inquire about it, they said it was not done and that they need another week. I gave them 2 weeks to make sure they have enough time. Then I called back only to be informed that it was not done but gave me the assurance that it would be ready for pick up the following day. I called after 2 days but they told me that the guy in charge for repair took 1 week off. .. Service is totally BS..
Went here today and picked up a pair of sterling mx3 , the box seamed beat up and it seamed as it had been opened and used. I asked sales person if he could open to make sure the item was new he opened it and showed me the speaker and wires. When I get home the speakers didn’t turn on , and they are missing three screws , I know sterling does not manufacture items like this, I called in and josh informed me that I could take them back and they’ll give me a new pair. I will update this review tomorrow . But honestly guys ask to see if items work cause mines seam to be a used item and I tried to buy them new .
Sad to see what has happened to Guitar Center. Went to the drum department and it was abandoned. No one at the desk, phone ringing off the hook and poorly stocked. Had to go to wait at the main desk for a few minutes just to find out if they had a product in stock, which it wasnt. Its possible their stock was low but a disappointing experience over all. Bummed to say Guitar Center is a shell of what it used to be
Let me say i purchased a mpcx from here 2400 dollars i was very upset when i requested one and some dude from the back comes out with a open box. And tries to leave it there with me like i was cool with that. what made me more upset was there was a closed box in the back!!! Why would you bring the opened one instead of the closed one. Just lazy smh but the Jamaican guy who rung me up was GREAT very nice guy. Im not a cry baby but dude thats 2400 dollers im spending and your too lazy to go get the correct one from start? Wont come back here if i dont have too.
If you are not looking for a specific guitar or an instrument you can visit this store to browse all kinds of instruments. It’s very close to Times Square and metro stations. They also have used gears which are cheaper than the new ones. Brian helped us to see lots of different guitars and decide which one to buy. Thank you
This used to be a valuable resource in the area. I have made so many purchases there in the past, big and small. But it is no longer meant to be.Its now a sad shell of what it once was. It doesnt cater to professionals anymore. Instead of really having departments, it is one big room that is poorly stocked with generic or low-end brands. I cant say that this applies to all Guitar Centers, but I can definitely say it applies to this one!Visiting there now feels like stepping into the sad car stereo department of a Sears. Womp womp.
I brought in a used guitar for repair that had some upgraded pickups but a terrible wiring job. Danny and Benny went above and beyond to help me out. They made sure all the connections were solid throughout, fixed poorly spliced wires and re-soldered everything, tightened up the pots and put new strings on it for me when they were done. They did an amazing job with a fast turnaround and every member of the staff that I met was really cool and helpful. They gave me such a great deal, I felt compelled to buy a few extra packs of strings and a guitar strap there instead of just ordering it off Amazon Prime like I do with everything these days.I have 9 guitars and if I need any work done, Ill definitely bring them here in the future. Now that I know theres a good tech close by, Im less afraid to open up my Hohner ST 57 vintage lawsuit guitar and try to work on it. If I mess it up, I can always take it to the Guitar Center down the street.
Im a music teacher in a tight spot who needs an electric guitar string for a concert tonight after a string broke during rehearsal. I cant leave my building and asked if I could order it over the phone and pay for a cab to deliver it to me. Their manager informed me that they would not be able to do it in a matter of 2 or fewer hours (the amount of time till my concert) because they wouldnt be able to varify my credit card in less time than that. Either update your technology to match that being used by every restaurant in NYC who will take my credit card over the phone and deliver immediately, or have better customer service for a music educator who needs your help. You could have bent the rule a bit to help out a teacher in need and instead prioritized your fear of my credit card not working for a $20 order. This really sucked and now my kids performance is screwed. Whoever was the manager tonight, April 10th 2019 at 3:30pm needs training on higher quality customer service.
The salesman in the pro-audio department was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and patient as he helped me purchase equipment for my new Voice Over home studio (mic, headphones, and pop filter.)Id been warned that Guitar Center associates may not be well-versed in the needs of Voice Over artists (as opposed to musicians or singers), and boy were they wrong! This guy could have taught the professional seminar Id attended on setting up my home studio. He addressed and expanded upon the points Id been advised to consider (gain, pattern, USB shortcomings, etc.)Here it is a month later, and Im still thrilled with the quality and functionality of each device I purchased. Watch out audiobook listeners, youll be hearing a lot more of me soon!
Been a regular customer of guitar center but this is my last visit here..sold me a broken item, no discount on next item i wanted of a diffrent brand no apologies. Im surprised how the open box item was put on display with a broken item, software and instruction book missing. Bad place bad management.no more.
Very slim selection of guitars, most hangars on the wall were empty. Most, if not all, of the guitars that were on display had issues. Loose input jacks, old strings, etc.Condescending staff. A lady and her child were struggling to demo floor models through amplifiers and none of the employees made themselves available to help.
I’m a Bar owner near this store , and this is the worst god damn place in Queens , have no idea how they still in Business, the Manager has no clue what’s so ever , some of the Workers are knowledgeable and helpful, but the way this store is run , Needs a major up grade , I called to ask for Stage speaker wall mount , was told they have 6 , the gentleman said and took 5 min going to the back and check and said they were in stock , I wanted to make sure so if I need to go to another store I would save time , I get there and who helps me ! The Manager, she’s horrible

2022-04-30Great place when you’re too lazy to travel to the Manhattan store. Great selection, in new as well as used gear. Guitar repair shop as well as music lessons are provided.Large selection of books along with other accessories. They even have used guitar pedals section also. The sales people are never pushy and are always helpful. There’s a great all you can eat sushi spot across the street . Plenty of parking spaces available on the rooftop and the place is wheelchair accessible.Word of courtesy:Please don’t play “ Stairway to Heaven “

2021-12-19The guy just rushed me to get the item, then when i was at home and i tried to unbox it the microphone was stolen and it has scratches. Low quality service at this store. I have to go to a different Guitar Center to return it and get a new ones.

2022-05-06Its always such a joy to be in any guitar center. This location I think offers lesson or information on lessons as well as Recitals. They have a very nice collection of guitars at ranging prices. Also they have a cool used drum set for sale that they let my friend try out. It was really nice in this location!

2020-08-31I spent almost 3 hours here, looking for my first electric guitar, amp, and other accessories. The associate who helped me, Eagle, was WONDERFUL. She tuned the guitars I tried, set me up at an amp, and answered all my questions, despite being very busy with other customers as well. She was patient, nonjudgmental, and checked in with me periodically. I felt very at ease with her, which can be important if youre a beginner who might feel out of place at a music store. The store itself is set up well with Covid precautions (limited number of customers, masks required, etc.). In addition, I like that you are free to roam around exploring the products on your own, without being pressured by the associates. Theyre there when you need them; they leave you alone when you dont require their help. The ONLY reason Im giving a 4/5 is because they wouldnt provide me with any significant discounts or add-ons. I believe that if youre spending ~$1,000+, they could at least throw in more than just a pack of picks. Go to the Guitar Center website, chat with an agent, and theyll give you at least 10% off, via a quote to your email. 👍👍

2022-03-02Location is not the best in terms of the surrounding neighborhood. Only redeeming quality is the free parking directly across the street near the Dunkin Donuts. This place is a far cry from the organized, clean and welcoming GC I am accustomed to in Delray Beach. Shame. The presence and recent addition of external security guards and the table check point upon entry is a visible indicator you are not in Kansas anymore. This place must have been inundated with theft and the typical NY hooliganism and criminality. Seems post pandemic the virtue signaling over face diapers is still tantamount to good customer service. Yes, its the science! They also lock up any and all medium grade guitars in the $350+ price zone. This is another stark indicator of how the criminal element proliferates this location. Sorry I am used to having access to $800 and above guitars freely in Florida locations. Liberalism truly is a mental disease. Sorry NY, you are very musician unfriendly.

2022-06-28I dont know anything about guitars but the rep/cashier showed me around the many types of strings I would have been lost without his help. Thanks man
