I came to this restaurant at around 12:05 PM today (Tuesday). I had just started my lunch break at my job a minutes earlier, and I was wandering around looking for a place to eat as I usually do. I like to walk around because its always good to get some exercise, and I am sitting around a lot at my desk job so I needed to work those legs of mine. Lol! Anyways, I suddenly remembered that my coworker had suggested this restaurant to me so I decided to give it a try. It is a short walk away from my workplace, so I honestly was a little dissappointed that I was not able to walk longer. But, thats ok. I ordered the bulgogi bibimbap, to go of course because I like eating at the park. I waited approximately 10 minutes and it came. It was still hot when I opened it outside, and it came with a container of kimchi and a refreshing vinegarette salad. The bibimbap was very tasty, although I wish there was a little more bulgogi to add some meat to my bones! I ate the entire meal because it was delicious. Then, I had to finish up quickly, head back to work and go to a few meetings. I like my job, but I have to return to school once summer ends. I hope to stay in touch with my coworkers once I leave. Regardless, I am certain that my fantastic experience would be improved even more if I had sat down at the restaurant to eat. I highly recommend their simple, well-crafted menu to anyone, and I look forward to returning soon!
Absolutely lovely little spot. I really want to show my family how awesome Korean bbq could be and Gunbae completely delivered on that wish.We ordered the combo which was suggested for 3-4 diners, and with four of us we figured it would work out perfectly. So much delicious food came to the table we hardly knew what to do with ourselves after a while. The staff was attentive and welcoming and really helped make our experience an amazing one. Cant wait to come back!
Went here for my first time having korean bbq and i loved everything about it!! Our server was super sweet and kind plus the food she prepared was AMAZING!! definitely deserved all the tips possible for her hard work. also try the soju!! it was delicious. would love to come here again one day
Ordered a kimchi pork stew soup for lunch to go. The soup was in a large cup. The taste is okay, but I dont like the portion. In side the large cup, it only comes with five small pieces of pork (half bite size each), and each piece has 50% fat on it. The rest is mainly kimchi. You wont find too much tofu either. I am spending over $18 for the soup and I would definitely expect a more decent meal. Will not order from it again.
Had a small reunion with a few friends that this place. It was a wonderful experience! The staff was extremely efficient and took their time to explain each meal as they served or cooked it for us. Given my friends and I had not seen each other for a while we were there for a long time and the staff did not rush us to leave or hurry up what so ever! We will be coming back and I do highly recommend this place.
Came to Gunbae for some Korean Barbecue. We ordered their prefix for 4 people and added bunch other meats too like duck, lamb chops and couple spicy pork stone bowls. Everything was super delicious. Duck was perfectly cooked. Got some peach soju and cocktails to enjoy with it. Sides were all delicious. Kale salad was perfectly seasoned. Pork dumplings were good too.
Service was nonexistent. Waiter wearing glasses was extremely unfriendly and kept leaving early even though I had not finished talking. Never said a single word to us after ordering our drinks. Automatically charged us an 18% gratitude tip, which bought our total up to $150+ for three entrées/dishes.
Great vibe and delicious food. Our initial waitress was not exactly welcoming but then she left and the gentlemen that helped us couldn’t have been nicer. She walked us though the menu and made suggestions on what to try. We got some dry aged meats that they cooked at the table which was amazing as well as the dumplings and fried rice which was equally as good. Will definitely be back.
Great location. And be sure to make a reservation at this place if youre interested in going! We were lucky enough to snag a spot due to a cancellation. We arrived between 6-7pm and it was not super busy, but many of the tables were reserved for others. We had a big appetite and decided to order the BBQ Hansang. Depending on your appetite you could probably finish this between two people, but definitely 3-4 if youre willing to share a good meal! The BBQ Hansang includes: banchans, egg hot pot, lettuce and ssam jang, kimchi jji gae or sundubu jji gae(+$2) , fried dumplings, wagyu kalbi, yang nyum kalbi, sam gyup pork belly, chadol brisket.I enjoyed the presentation and the food, but it was not my favorite. Good flavors, but some items were better than others. You definitely have to go for the experience, but there are other places that are much better. I felt like this place was a little more upscale than a restaurant that you can find in Korea-town.
This restaurant was recommended by a client for dinner, so I took my coworkers and client out for a nice dinner. The food was good, especially the Duck Breast and the boneless short ribs. However the service was a bit packing. Just not very attentive. Halfway through our meal, we finally got our appetizer and drinks. Otherwise the overall experience wasnt bad, just not great.
This was our first order. Food was delivered quickly (despite a terrible thunderstorm). It was packaged well, and everything we ordered or needed came in the bags. The food tasted amazing though mine had cooled off too much to my preference. And, it was pretty affordable (for Manhattan). Will definitely be back.
When: Wednesday at 6pmParty Size: ~20Second time coming here, both times on the companys dime (price not a factor in my review). Both times ended up downstairs at karaoke. Both times racked up a $4,000+ bill. Always a great, somewhat memorable time (because of the drinks - food is definitely memorable).Starters: Kimchi pancake, Seafood pancake, Fried Dumplings, Edamame, Bulgogi over riceKBBQ Meats: Wagyu Kalbi, T-Bone Steak, Lamb Chops (my favorite - so rich and gamey!), Duck Breast, Shrimp, BulgogiDrinks: Pretty sure (since I did blackout) I had every single cocktail on the menu this nightService: 10/10Place was busy, yet they always had waiters at our 3 tables to ensure we were never empty on drinks. They were nice, helped with suggestions, and do not try to oversell you. Waitress also gave us free soju bombs on the house!Ambiance: 8/10Clean big place. Burners on every table.Overall: 9/10Great time, food, and service. Well probably come back again and again.
We had a regular Bibimbab lunch and a Korean BBQ. First Korean BBQ for me and I was not overly impressed, too fatty meat for me. But the Bibimbab was great. They have their own draft beer and Soju. More choices of course. Everything was impeccable so in all we were very happy, I mean we went back for the BBQ because we loved the lunch. Staff was great.
Had really bad diarrhea after eating here. Had dinner on 4/3 and had running stomach from morning on 4/4 without eating anything else. Order Chadol Brisket, Bulgogi and seafood japchae here. So either it’s the food’s problem or the server Yoona L didn’t make it fully cooked when we specifically ask the meat to be fully cooked. Won’t recommend to others.
From the limited veggie option, Vegetable Bibimbop and appetizer was amazing, liked the crisp rise is very hot bowl. The only disappointment was that a broken plate was given for appetizer, so carried a first impression that restaurant is not doing due diligence on small but important things.
Korean barbecue is the name of the game here and these guys certainly do it well. I went with a party of four and got their variety platter they offer, which not only gives you a wide variety of meats to share, but a ton of sides and appetizers that make for perfect companions. On top of the delectable food, its a bit of an experience itself, they cook everything on the table right in front of you, but without all the hibachi flair. The place is definitely a little in the pricier side, but its honestly worth every penny which Id argue is tough to come by. I cant wait to come back and try more of their options.
Such a great place!!! Wonderful service, great food, affordable during Happy Hour. Drinks were very tasty, Servers were great and welcoming. Very clean, all the patrons that came in to eat were spaced out. Definitely coming back again and again, will recommend to everyone 💖💖💖💖
At the moment you arrive in this restaurant they give you a great feeling. Very courteous stuff, it is a happy restaurant to to go out with friends and colleagues or with your date. Great cooking, specialist chef, reasonable cost and excellent service. Highly recommended.
The decor inside had a rustic wooden vibe that was cozy yet not cramped. The place was clean and filled with people when we went. Only four stars because they did not have perilla leaves or daikon served with the kbbq and it could be considered pricey for the meat. The waiter and staff were friendly and respectful.
Got the Gunbae wings, chicken bibimbap, and ginger honey tea.The wings were good, not the best but not worst. The bibimbap stone bowl was a good amount of food but didnt have much flavor aside from the gochujang (I think) sauce. The tea was pretty good, but overall Id say it wasnt worth the price.Allergy info: No peanuts or seafood in those dishes. The bibimbap comes with an egg that you can remove if youre allergic.
Its a korean bbq place where you can enjoy the guys cooking food for you right on your table. They have some great things, but they could actually use a little more flavor on their steaks which have a good or regular marble without reaching the level of fantastic. The service nevertheless is great and very kind.
Got the A4 wagyu Kalbi which was fattier and not as lean as most wagyu cuts I’ve had. The waiter went back to the kitchen and got new cuts which were a little better but seems the wagyu just isn’t the quality I’m used to. The Bulgogi and kimchi soup were good but nothing special. Service was really good though and the ambiance is great.
We had to wait for around 30 minutes because it was a busy Friday night, but the hostess was extremely friendly and sat us down once a table was open. We ordered the BBQ set for the three of us, and the variety was lovely! The interior is like a typical kbbq restaurant, but I had no idea the downstairs was a karaoke until the end of my meal! The set included four different meats, an egg, salad, dumplings, and honestly so much food. We also had the seafood pancake, which was DIVINE, as well as the homemade lychee soju. I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of the soju, as it was quite fresh and light.Overall, this was a great experience and I enjoyed spending my Friday night here.
Absolutely fantastic Korean barbecue. The bulgogi, kalbi, and the USA wagyu kalbi were excellent. The Yang-Nyum Kalbi was especially good, and I highly recommend it. The Bulgogi Bibimbop was also great. The restaurant staff were friendly and cooked the meat very well. Overall, Gunbae was an excellent restaurant.
Denied my service since I did not have a vaccination card. From out of state, out of ALL the places I’ve been , this was first -which I was kinda taken back. I called prior, and they told us they could take 4 people within now. I wish they would’ve told us beforehand on the phone that we needed vaccination card so we wouldn’t waste our time walking 30 min from there.
Ill be honest, I didnt eat a lot due to a food allergy. The place was busy and my guests enjoyed the food a lot. The waiter was very attentive to my dietary restrictions and we were able to work something out for me (Greatly Appreciated).Service was prompt, the food was prepared with skill and was very tasty. Everyone in our party (of 8) was pleased with their dish and experience.
I have eaten here twice recently. The food was good and I felt a bit overpriced. I like how clean and well decorated the place was. We didn’t go downstairs and enjoy the Karaoke. They offered a 10% discount if you paid with cash.If you ask they will continue to bring you sides such as Kim Chi and Marinated Broccoli
It’s our first time in the Big Apple. But prior to our business trip to New York, we had our vacation in South Korea in October. We got to experience true blue, heavenly authentic Korean food.So after our Statue of Liberty trip, we suddenly craved for Korean food. The nearest we found from the trip was Gunbae at Tribeca— where we later found out was an upscale neighborhood where celebrities also lived. The ambience is great, has a very homey atmosphere. The staff are friendly, with some with Korean lineage, but already are US citizens. So we got to exchange stories on our Korean vacation with the Korean staff. We were not disappointed with the food that we ordered. The taste is the same with the ones that we had back in Korea. The glass noodles, the hot and spicy soup, the Korean barbecue (samgyupsal) which is a must try, and the unlimited side dishes that make up the traditional Korean way of meals. We had late lunch there, like past 1pm. So the peak time for lunch and people traffic is over, so there was no need for us to rush and we took our sweet time to eat. The food is so good that we got to eat a lot. We even had coffee, a great finish to a great meal. We’re pretty sure that Gunbae is also a great place for dinner. The place really deserves the Trip Advisor certification. 😊😍 ❤️
This place is consistently good, and has fantastic, attentive service. Kimchi and other assorted sides are very high quality. Menu sticks to the good stuff. Lunch is reasonably priced and is quick. BBQ prices are pretty standard, so I come here more often for lunch. A must go!
Amazing place for Korean dishes. I love Korean BBQ but I usually put in a lot of planning before I go, usually because I don’t want the smell of food all over me. As I usually have meetings all throughout the day, having Korean BBQ on a work day used to be impossible but not until I tried this place. Equally important is the quality of food of course. I should say this is arguably one of the best Korean restaurants I’ve ever been to.This is also my go-to place for lunch delivery. Kimchi fried rice is to die for.
Great food, excellent service, authentic Korean! And much more accommodating than another certain Korean restaurant in NYC that rather snobbishly told me I needed to make reservations two weeks in advance in order to eat there. In contrast, Gunbae got us right in, and we enjoyed a fantastic meal. Highly recommended!
Walked in for Sunday lunch and ordered seafood soup. Staff is very friendly and young. Looks like a better diner/late bite place given that they also have karaoke and a full bar.Food quality: 4/5Taste: 3.5/5 (just the soup)Staff and service: very friendly but not as attentiveSpiciness: very light. Wish they have spiciness levels to choose from.Seats: hard wood seats, not as comfortable as regular chairs.
The food was okay. It just did not feel or taste like Korean BBQ. The Wagyu was not buttery and smooth as expected and did not taste special. The hot pots were tasty, but not enough to bring up the experience. They do not have yogurt drinks. I wouldnt go back but I dont totally regret going.
Went here for Karaoke with friends. For a place being in Tribeca, it was incredibly reasonable price wise. $40 per hour for a room was definitely worth it. They have a large and varied section of music available to pick from, the sound and lights were fun, and the server was really nice. Drinks definitely racked up the bill and leaned more on the expensive side, but depending on how many people are in your group, splitting the bill shouldnt be a problem. Its a great place to try out if you got a big group of friends.
I celebrated my birthday here and you should too.Starting with the location, Gunbae is perfect for a date for 2, or a large group which I brought with me. We were able to reserve three tables however, we needed to reserve more which you can do. Despite the capacity to pack in a ton of people, a lot of thought has been put into the location. One example is how your coats can go into your chairs. Another great example is how you have so much space to eat despite there being a grill right in front of you.I ordered the beef combo and shared it with three friends which really is perfect. We were completely full and completely satisfied. Everything was so delicious and perfectly grilled. While not being the cheapest item, I highly recommend it.The drinks are amazing (which is to be expected) and are reasonably priced. I would say expect to be between the 20 to 30 price point per person. After food we had karaoke. The bar was already said high however, karaoke was just the perfect way to end the night. We were able to order some more drinks, unwind and have a great evening. The only downside to this establishment is their preference for cash over multiple cards. They will limit how many card payees there are. I can only assume its from laziness and not from the limitation on their payments systems. We spent a lot that night so being able to split the tab easily would have ended the night perfectly.I strongly recommend that you Gunbae, lol.
Had a absolutely fantastic 35th birthday dinner at Gunbae. My group of 4 was attending to brilliantly. The food was incredible and PLENTIFUL. We were told the $119 dinner for 3-4 people may not be enough, but it was just right. We all left stuffed to the brim and fully satisfied. Great staff as well. Very friendly and attentive to cooking our meat for us. Not an easy style restaurant to work, but they do it very well.
Brought my wife here for lunch for her birthday and was not disappointed at all. All the servers were nice and gracious including the manager - hes willing to make anyone and everyone feel comfortable. I reserved a table and when it was time to leave they gave complimentary ice cream with a candle just for my wife! Now that is building great relationship. Love it there. In fact, i just ordered something to-go today.
The BBQ was great. The beef cooker was very attentive and cooked the beef perfectly. The beef was great because it didnt have any fat chunks. Vegetable bibimpap was great especially the crispy rice from the stone pot. Everything about the food experience left a refreshing good meal feel. It was a little pricey but I guess thats for the quality. Will certainly come again!
I dont know how it has so many positive reviews. Maybe the BBQ is good. But Ive tried dishes other than the BBQ and theyre mediocre at best. And if you order delivery, the quality really plummets. Their stews and soups are probably made with pre-made packages. There is no depth of flavor. Their kimchi fried rice is mostly oil and kimchi with nearly no meat. You need to go more uptown for better Korean food. Or Fort Lee in NJ or Forest Hills in Queens. But most definitely not in Tribeca.
4 stars because of the Karaoke! Their rooms are really large and its a fun time. The song options are not too updated though, and the books are hard to navigate because you cant search by artist. The large remote allows you to search by artist but its a tad too time consuming to put effort into. This place is pricey though so be prepared to drop some cash. They lose a star because there is no wheelchair access and not ADA regulated. Their karaoke rooms are down a flight of narrow, twisting stairs. The food was good, I had a glass noodle and seafood dish in an oyster sauce that was divine. However, their korean barbecue had no seafood option so if you dont eat red meat then this might not be the spot for you.
We were told that our large party of 14 (covering 3 tables) had to spend a minimum of $160 per table after we had already ordered our food. This meant that we needed to spend a minimum of $480. No where on the website does it say this, and there are no reviews with this info either. We spent most of our dinner (which was for a friend’s birthday) constantly asking the waiter where our bill was. The KBBQ was extremely overpriced. At the end of our meal, I asked if they could split the check, and the waiter told us no. So I sat in the restaurant calculating out the check, when they could have easily done it for us. After finishing splitting the tab, they told us that they could only run 4 credit cards max through the machine, which led to more calculations. Needless to say, my entire party was annoyed about how much we spent on dinner, how long it took to pay the check, and how unaccommodating the staff was. I would NOT recommend coming and will NEVER be back.
Let me set the stage, it is a friends birthday with a group of friends of about 13. The friend who’s birthday we were celebrating was kind of enough to set up the reservation and double check all the policies. At the time that booking was made the normal group mandatory tip fee was disclosed along with the requirement of at least two K-BBQ orders to be made or the grill cannot be used. A callback later informed us of a reservation cancelation fee of $20 per person if canceled within 24 hours of the reservation. While this is not strange considering the size of our group, it would have been appreciated if we would have been informed during the initial call. Upon arriving at the restaurant we were missing five of our party and were informed that if they did not arrive within 30 minutes of the reservation start time their table would be forgone. We agreed and completely understood, time is money. Like straight out of a movie our stragglers arrived at the last minute but were still sat at a different table set aside from the bigger table. While this meant we were not able to socialize, and it was annoying, we let it slide. The menus are distributed and we place our orders. A little while later the food starts to be delivered and the server comes to the individual who’s birthday it is. The server proceeds to ask him if it is his birthday, wishes him a happy birthday, and then states that for each K-BBQ grill there must be a minimum of $160 ordered. Our group was using three grills which means the total minimum they wanted was $480. We balked at this statement because no where on their website, on their menu, or in other reviews is this stated. This information was not disclosed on the phone or even before ordering. They only told us after we had ordered which seems fishy. The rest of the night was spent worried if we had reached the required amount. Every time we wanted to check the bill we were almost ignored and almost had to pull the server aside in order to get the information. At the end of the night our other group of 5 paid for their meals with 5 credit cards and left. When our half of the group, 8 of us, tried to have them split the check for us they told us they were unable to do that. Frustrated from the treatment all night long, we divided up the bill for about 20 minutes. When we gave them our 8 credit cards they returned the credit cards to us and told us that only 4 credit cards could be accepted. This is inconsistent with the treatment that they show considering that our friends used 5 credit cards with no problems. At the time we did not know that our other friends used 5 credit cards with no problem to pay for their meal, so we redid all the math and split it all 4 ways. Of course they could have saved us the trouble if they wanted to, but they choose to make us split it and then to lie to us and say they only accept 4 cards. This was hands down the worst dining experience of my life. I hope they do not treat anyone else like this.
A relatively new addition to Tribeca, it diversifies the food options here with Korean. However, the menu is pricey and the portions are not as generous. For example, you dont get a lot of the side dishes included with a Korean meal (banchan). On the plus side, service is friendly and attentive. There are also clean and fancy karaoke rooms downstairs that can be reserved for parties.
I’ve been here with my coworkers last Thursday for lunch. Bibimbop with beef was really great. First time experiencing Korean food. Our server Nancy was so attentive made us go back that evening to try the bbq as well.Nancy immediately recognized me (I guess from going there twice in a day) such a friendly and sweet staff you have gunbae! She recommended marinated kalbi saying it’s the most popular one. Said duck is her favorite so I tried that too. She didn’t cook the meat for us but it was still great nonetheless. Never knew duck could taste so good. Must go spot on TriBeCa!
Me and my family had such a great experience at Gunbae last Friday. Food was delicious and all of staffs were very nice and helpful. Quality of food was excellent. Very modern and Kids friendly atmosphere. Little bit expensive than K town but I would love to go here again rather than K town restaurants. I think this place is even better than Gaonnuri at 32nd st. Most of dishes that I tried were well cooked and didnt lose any of Korean authentic taste. I loved tKorean chicken fried, mandoo(Korean dumpling), kale salad with tofu and hot stone pot Bibimbob from the menu. Strongly recommend.
A reservation of 19 people had to wait 20mins to get seated. I made this reservation a week prior and my gusts had all to wait by the door while the staff did nothing to accommodate us. The host, and manager were unapologetic, with an attitude and straight out nAsty.Wish I wasnt stuck with such a large groupat the time. Simply irresponsible and bad for their business.Very unprofessional.
I came here for my 19th birthday last night with over 12 friends and my experience was not that great. I rented out the karaoke room for 2 hours and at first, I was having issues with that due to my age. I spoke to the manager over the phone and I let him know that most people coming would be under 21 and since I was under 21, they were about to not rent me out the karaoke room for a full 2 hours. A girl came in and rudely asked if any parents were coming. I proceeded to let her know that everyone in the room was over 18 and legal adults and when I talked to the manager on the phone, there wasnt a problem. We showed her all of our ids before this conversation and she still proceeded to say after that Yah, I mean real adults meanwhile one of my friends who was present was 26, my boyfriend is 22, and most of the people in the room were either in there early 20s or 19. After being discriminated against for my age, we did get the room for 2 hours. They did give us an extra 45 minutes for free for karaoke but it was only due to our table not being ready for our 7:30 reservation. We had the Korean bbq afterwards, and the food was very overpriced for just decent quality. They also did not let anyone cook the meals by themselves, meanwhile most Korean bbq Ive been have let you cook your own food since thats half the fun in it and the prices of other places Ive been for Korean bbq were 7-9 dollars per meat. This place charged 26-33 dollars a meat if you wanted to do the Korean bbq. The service was also very inattentive and my friends and I actually had to raise our hands to even get a servers attention. They also charged 7 dollars for the small portion of ice cream, my boyfriend asked to bring to sing happy birthday. Most places offer free desert, when it is someones birthday but this place, although it has a good atmosphere, it is overpriced and the service was not great. They also automatically charged a big service fee for service that was barely even there half the time. Im not going back to this place again, there is cheaper and better places if you want to sing karaoke or eat Korean bbq in the city.
Ended up going here because the supposedly gluten free bakery I want to try was out of gluten free things. I could not have been more glad that I did! The bibimbop is some of the best I have had. The bulgogi bibimbop in the stone bowl is the way to go for an absolutely amazing lunch! If I ever get a chance I will be coming back for more of their amazing food!
Korean BBQ upstairs. Karaoke downstairs. What could possibly be a better combination? If you find yourself in the Tribeca neighborhood craving Korean (traditional plates plus BBQ, too) - but arent particularly keen on a fancy/pricy tasting menu a-la-Jungsik - then look no further than GunBae.Housed in an attractive, modern, bi-level space, GunBae boasts a full bar (with a variety of house-infused soju) - plus rocks a serious happy hour (M-Th from 11:30A-7PM, $5 for all beer / $7 for selected wines), to boot. And while the wine list may not read like that of a fussy French restaurant, there are plenty of great red and white options by the glass/bottle.Having chosen a two-top table outfitted with a BBQ grill (for the sheer cave woman-esque intrigue of watching someone cook glistening raw meat before your very own eyes), Danielle and I split a variety of food items - both Korean BBQ and traditional dishes - so that we could sample as many plates and preparations as possible. For the BBQ selections, we opted for the Yang Nyum Kalbi (boneless beef short rib) and an order of the American Wagyu Brisket. We also chose two of my personal favorite Korean dishes of all time (thank you, Christine Yi!), the Kimchi Pancake and Dduk Man Du Guk, a beef-broth stew chock full of rice cakes and dumplings. While I love BBQ/grilled meat as much as the next guy (I am a Texan, after all), I have to say that, at this particular restaurant, I preferred the non-BBQ items! Why? Truth be told, I like my beef gristle-free and, unless were talking about Japanese Kobe, relatively low on marbeling. Call me boring, perhaps even risk averse, but Im a filet mignon gal to the core. That being said, my protein preferences definitely lie within the minority, especially at Korean BBQ restaurants where most of the raw meat is enveloped with a higher fat ratio/percentage.Im pretty sure that Danielle and I chopstick-fought over the last slice of that piping hot and crispy Kimchi Pancake! And I can say with 100% confidence that I successfully polished off the remainder of that delicious beef stew. There is truly something so comforting and warm about rice cakes in a savory broth; its like receiving an embrace from the person in your life who gives you the best hugs.I look forward to returning to GunBae soon and checking out their karaoke space, plus sampling the (Gunbae Chicken) Wings, Bibimbop, Wagyu Kimchi Fried Rice, and like 15 other menu items.
I just witnessed the most RACIST behavior from this restaurant. I was waiting to pick up my to go order when I saw the owner in the front give a Young Black Kid a very hard time for using the restroom before picking up his uber eats delivery order. I heard the guy in the front accuse the young man of “stealing” when he had the app and the persons name available to show him but guy in the front was very rude and wouldn’t even look at the app but Instead he accused him of stealing the order and proceeded to call 911!! I will never come back here again. I can’t support racism companies!!
I tried Bulgogi over rice and I liked they added a lot of vegetable and bulgogi together, but I felt Bulgogi did not have flavor... really flat, boring taste.I enjoyed seafood pancake and I did not try but Spicy pork over rice and Bibimbop looked really good! Inside is really clean and nice atmosphere.Next time, I would like to try their BBQ or Bibimbop.
I really wanted to like this restaurant since its the closest Korean restaurant from my work place. However, the food is very blend and for the price they charge, I expect legit Korean food–– not food that taste like a prepackaged sauce packet I can make at home. Fairly disappointed with the flavors of food but am really hoping theyll improve.
This restaurant is my number one place. Of all restaurants I know I prefere it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to visit this restaurant. Whenever I want to go to a proper meal, this restaurant comes straightaway to my mind. fresh and varied food and a rich menu.professional team, and pleasant atmosphere. Also important, the expence is modest. I tell about this place with pleasure.
FOOD: 2 STARSBATHROOM: 4 STARS (Its upstairs and super cramped!)OVERALL: 4 STARS because.. I love jazz, and Id come back here again to see another artist! The reviews were not lying when they said it was cramped! My parents arrived earlier than my brother and I so they chose the table in front of stage left. Since we were a group of 4, you had to be seated in a cluster vs. having all four people from the same party sit on the same side of the table (think the game... Diner Dash!). With my back away from the stage and it was a neck breaker! Definitely had a bit of soreness from having my neck turned the entire time, but it was okay as Earl Klugh was who we came to see!In case you dont want to read my review of the food lets just say DONT ORDER THE FOOD. Its overpriced and a level below mediocre.(We were starving so we ordered a cheeseburger w/ fries, calamari, and caesar salad. The cheeseburger was quite big, but dry. The fries with the overflow of melted cheese from the burger were delicious, but otherwise eh as well. The calamari was decent even though they were smaller pieces and the caesar salad was mediocre. The drinks are a bit pricey, but what do you expect?)The show itself was lovely! Great acoustics and everyone in there was just jammin and having a good time! Once we left there, we were so glad we were there for the early showing (8pm). Everyone on that 10:30pm line definitely was NOT getting in (I wonder how that goes for those with tickets/reservations?).I would definitely come back here to see other talented and legendary artists. Id most likely skip on the food and just order drinks!Blue Note - New York, NY, United States. $16 burger and fries!$16 burger and fries!
Good lunch specials (soups, bibimbap, etc. includes banchan) and easy to get a table for 2 at noon. Ive had the soups which are satisfying on a cold day and the stone pot bulgolgi bibimbap, which is better than some Ktown spots and its tough to beat $16 for hot stone pot bulgolgi bibimbap in Manhattan.
We made a reservation for 8:30 PM online and arrived a half hour early. They told us that we would have our table in 10 mins. 10 mins later they young lady at the front told us they gave our table away and they wouldn’t have a table for us that night. The manager came out and told us the reason they didn’t have a table was the online reservation system overbooked them. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
I ordered a Bibimbap takeout lunch. Portion was so tiny that first I thought rice must be in a separate box. But no, the rice was underneath and there was barely enough vegetables to hide it at the bottom of the small bowl. The Bibimbap itself was radish, carrot, zucchini, some green leafs and canned corn. No mushrooms, no fern sprouts, no sea weed.Sides were a box of lettuce with soy sauce (???) and a box of radish kimchi. At price tag of $13 and probably 1/3 of content of what you’d expect in any restaurant in Korea town, this was quite a disappointment.

2022-05-26I love this place because it was so homey and cozy. I went all across the city to find the best Korean food on a food challenge cultural tour with some friends and this was definitely one of the best. It was just down to earth and home cooking. And the servers are very nice and attentive but didn’t feel overwhelming. Everything came out very quickly and there was a lot of variety but not too much that it felt overwhelming or that it would be maybe not up to par. Not to worry because everything that came out was absolutely delicious and we all had such a good time. I would come here again for sure. Highly recommend!

2022-07-07Amazing! Amazing! This is my to go Korean BBQ in Tribeca. I’ve been to this place so many times and the food is always great! I love the Korean family style of eating and the fact that the food is made while you watch. I recommend this restaurant.

2021-11-10Nice, clean, new place and a friendly server. They have Korean barbecue but we tried bibimbap rice bowls and a seafood pancake, delicious food. I would recommend it. FYI The price is a bit high for the lunch menu.

2022-05-18Great atmosphere and enjoyable experience. Service quick- in and out in an hour ordering and enjoying appetizers, entrees and drinks. Pros- wonderful banchan, I loved the house salad vinaigrette. The fried chicken is excellent. Cons- waygu beef kalbi small and bland, even the sesame sauce couldnt save it. Whoops- no need to order the fancy meat here. Bulgogi very mild flavored. And lastly- if you sit on the brick wall side bench its so far from the table this meal will have you on the edge of your seat- literally! It wasnt comfortable so its good the servers brought and cooked everything so fast. Also note: for party of two about 18% gratuity is automatically added. I would go again and skip the BBQ list and try a stew or bibimbop- and definitely the fried chicken again. 👌

2021-10-30Japchae with vegetables was tasteless as bibimbap, I think the worst I’ve tried. However, service and BBQ were good. Overall, left full but didn’t get excitement of eating Korean food 🥘 🍱
