Gyro Palace in other cities:
Excellent food and unbeatable prices. Fresh and large portions for what you pay, so its a very good value. Quick, friendly service.Restaurant is small but comfortable.Highly recommended especially is the chicken souvlaki, but all the gyro dishes are good too and their fries are amazing.
I was excited to see a gyro restaurant in the area. I ordered a lamb gyro. It was was exactly the opposite to my expectations. The lamb meat was burnt to the point wear it tasted like charred grit. I wont recommend this place!!! The cashier was very polite I must say. Cooks can either make or break a restaurant!
Happy! So tired, so hungry, then I remembered this place and called to see if they delivered to my town, and Bingo yes. Delivery on time and pleasant. So much thanks to the staff for making my entire experience a pleasant one, too many bad ones out there. Delicious hot food, Greek salad, grilled warm pita, chicken slouvaki, spinach pie, yogurt sauce and lemon potatoes. A lovely combination of flavors, textures and nutrition!!I went to sleep restfully with a warm, full and healthy belly. Thank You.
Horrible manners on the phone . For starters I call this place for the first time and I get the “ what do you need “ question as if I’m bothering the guy in the phone and then I order a salad with chicken and he comes back with “that’s all ?” And proceeds to tell me the limit for delivery is $30 for my area . I was willing to give this place a shot after reading their good reviews but never again!
The food always arrives cold and if you call when your order isn’t right they’ll tell you more then once they’ll sent the correction, but they don’t.Oh and their phone is currently ‘broken’ so you can’t get your money back either. But it might save you from the anger of hearing them laughing in the background knowing they messed up your order.
I have been eating at Abes pitaria for its seems like decades, and its sub par at best, because I didnt know the Gyro Palace existed. I am so glad I tried it today because this is my new go-to Greek food. Everything we got from there was delicious and the people working there were also very nice..Update.! Now a year later and this place is just as good as the first time I tried it.
I want to give this place 5 Stars, but I cant because: 1. In the Winter every time someone opens the front door, the entire Restaurant becomes cold and food become cold very quick . 2. The French Fries suck, please make better Fries! The Service is great, the Gyro tastes good, the Lemon Soup, the Greek Salad all good. Fix the front door and get new French Fries please!
Normally GREAT however last two times I went to get take out something was missing from my order and when I called back, its like they were too busy to care. Dont get me wrong, the food is GREAT but sometimes theyre too busy for their own good and theyre not afraid to let you know that too. Plus, it AINT cheap.
I have been to many many gyro spots, this is by far my favorite. I consider myself picky and know what i like. This place hands down has the best Tzatziki sauce on the planet! correct temperature, thickness, amount. The chicken is cooked to perfection and never ever has tendons, the salad components are fresh, crunchy and meticulously proportioned to perfection, the pita is never burned on the edges inedible they serve coke products, which in my opinion is old school, a better, more costly upgrade that many choose not to go with! Within just a couple visits, i was recognized by the staff and that made me feel even better about my experiences there.
Decent food, typical greek place, nothing fancy. my 10 year old daughter loves this place for some reason. last time i went the chicken souvlaki was under cooked and they graciously gave me a new dish. big salads on plates that are too small...youll see what i mean when you get one
I absolutely love falafel. I have been addicted for decades. This is by far THE worst falafel Ive ever had. The outside was super over done and the middle pasty and under-cooked. My husband got the platter with Rice and his rice was gross; slick and definitely not yellow (as the waitress assured us). The manager (or whom I imagine is the manager) was a horribly rude man who tried to cover his behavior with a fake smile when we went to pay. The prices suck for the quality of food. The food truck on Nassau Road in Roosevelt is 10,000 times better... but sadly was closed. Save your gas folks. This isnt worth the ride.
This was the 1st time hereAnd the service was GreatI dont know if the guy at the frt was the owner...which I think..he was...so...so..nice..He brought the food out..2 me..Wht service..The food looks great..Have not taste it yet..But iam pretty sure its .Good..Kudos....2....them...
If you are going for lunch/dinner The chicken or lamb souvlaki dinners are great and they also have pork ,beef , and shrimp souvlaki but I just stick to the chicken or lamb , The lentil soup is amazing and if you get the dinner it comes with soup and a side dish . One of the best restaurants . The owner is so nice
Friendly neighborhood joint. Contemporary Greek pop blaring lends to relaxed atmosphere. Staff lively & knows the regulars. The food - average gyro dinner. Lemony chicken rice soup with hearty shredded chicken, diced carrots. Bursted Rice grains; this soup version is thinner than some but favorful. Warm chewy pita accompany mild yogurt sauce with cukes on the bottom. Gyro meat is favorful if a bit over salted. Could of used a sprinkle of onion slices to help offset the salt. Lemony potato wedges had a healthy dose of paprika but were a tad undercooked. Fresh HOT coffee.Would return to try the chicken dinner.

2022-06-29Been going here since I moved from Brooklyn in 2017. If you have ever had greek food from bay ridge or Astoria, this place is on par with anything coming out of those Greek neighborhoods. It’s arguably the best Greek place on the south shore and there are a ton of them (not counting fancy sit down green restaurants like santorini). I prefer them over anything in my town and I’m two towns away, with many Greek options much closer. The chicken gyro is especially excellent. I get from this place probably once every 2 weeks, and I’ve never had anything other than excellent food from this restaurant. I felt compelled to finally review them after seeing the last review they got which seemed ridiculous and not a fair review of this restaurant.

2022-06-14Wow this supposedly be a Greek place for gyros but wow this is the worst food ever had I ordered fried calamaris and taste like very old oil I think they never change the oil to fry the food Do Not waste your money, even those food trucks have better gyros and cheaper. Obviously Not recommended it.

2022-04-11Me and my entire family have had the same experience with the rude staff and manager. This guy talks over the phone like a jerkoff. Everyone working there is so nasty and has the worst attitudes

2019-08-20Ordered the gyro melt, did not come as expected. It was just lamb meat and cheese on pita. From the website, it looked like it would include tomatoes and cucumbers. The spinach pie had no or very little feta cheese. Putting two stars because although it was ok, there are better places nearby with comparable prices. Staff was nice.

2021-10-14I cannot say enough great things about the food here. I pretty much have a standard order now - which they know as soon as I walk in. In several months I have yet to have a bad meal, food is fresh and bursting with taste. Pricing is reasonable, service is excellentYou deserve to go here - warning it will spoil toward other places
