24 Krt Keratin treatmentI have been to this location (3rd avenue) numerous times because of their AMAZING SERVICE and PRODUCTS. I have also brought over couple of my friends and relative because of their amazing service and results of the treatments. However, it seems like their treatment is not like how it used to be. My mother got the 24krt Keratin treatment recently and hasnt washed her hair for 5 days. The hair stylist had to use extra product due to the thickness. She finally washed her hair today and the hair does not look anything like a hair that got a KERATIN treatment. Luckily, they have the 5 days policy.The manager was kind enough to make time for us to figure out why it did not work and hopefully work her magic. Unfortunately, this exact thing happened once in Feb 2019 with my cousins hair at the old Hair Bar location. OLGA ( The manager ) had to come in and redo the hair because the result was not what we expected at all. Id like to continue coming back but I also would like to continue getting positive results.I feel like its a hit or miss kind of thing. All my treatments were marvelous. I will keep this comment updated per our next visit to fix this issue.
Disha does my hair every time and I love her attention, her energy and her expertise. She makes sure I feel like a Queen after every treatment.
Employees are more concerned about corporate points than providing clear communication and were extremely rude.Didnt get a service based on the discretion of one employee as opposed to another employee giving the same service to another customer.
After months of humidity and iso home cuts, my hair was a messss but Olga truly saved it/gave me the cleanest and most flattering cut I have had in years. My hair has been so much softer and more manageable due to the keratin treatment and Olga is a very professional yet fun lady with so much knowledge and confidence in what she does. The salon has such a good vibe and the receptionist is very lovely too. It was very fairly priced and really a refreshing experience X
The staff here is so kind and positive, they make the entire treatment a fun experience! I mostly choose this place because of the great staff.But also:The space is very pleasant and clean, with plenty of light as they are on the ground level to the street. You can even step outside while you wait for the keratin to set (20 minutes). They are masters at doing keratin (I do the vegan option which lasts longer). Prices are also very, very reasonable.Highly, highly recommended!
I absolutely loved my experience here! I came in for a trim and Olga did an incredible job. She was charming, funny, and exceeded my expectations with what I had asked for (corrected messy angles/ gave the best blowout). I received multiple compliments from customers at my job later on that evening. Cannot rave about my experience enough!
My scheduled appointment did not start on time.It has been 5 days since the Silk Touch Keratin treatment, but my eyes are still burning. I called them to ask if this is a side effect, they denied and instead blamed on the allergy season. I never had any allergies that made my eyes burn. I am almost certain this is a side effect that they did not inform me about beforehand and refuse to take responsibility now.Hair felt lovely after the treatment but the very next day after 1 wash 80% of the treatment effect was gone. $210 down the drain. $150 Keratin treatment advertisement is only for short hair, my hair is not exactly short, but not long either, but it would be good to know beforehand what they would be billing me for, during checkout they just pointed me to the price list for long hair and charged me for long hair.Never going here again and do not recommend either.
Let me just start with the fact that I walked out of Hair Bar feeling like a whole new woman. I have thick curly hair. Salons I’ve been to in the past always suggested relaxing or perming my hair so it’s more manageable which I always say no because I love the versatility of going curly in summer months and straight in cooler months. Going to the Hair Bar was the ultimate solution! The Botox treatment left my hair smooth, silky, and straight. The beauticians were welcoming and even educated me about my hair needs. Fun environment! I made my second appointment and am going to bring my daughter for with me. She’s going to love her hair!

I read reviews and did my research before going there, did not disappoint! I dared to change stylist due to my former stylist did a mess with my color, didn’t like the results so i need my hair fixed.I went to Hair Bar NYC and got my color fixed, a hair cut and diamond Botox treatment and I am SO happy with the results, thanks to Sarah for the great job she’s done.I am very happy definitely will make this my regular salon from now on.
A friend of friend recommended hair bar for Keratin treatment and a cut. I went about a week and half ago and Christina was my stylist, and I could not be happier with the final product! They offer a variety of Keratin options and I wasnt sure which one to get, so Christina walked me through each one and gave me her honest opinion based on what I was looking for (I got the gel option to keep my waves by eliminate frizz). I am so beyond happy with my hair! Normally my hair is very frizzy and has an awkward curl to it, but after this gel treatment, the frizz is totally gone and I am now left beach waves that air-dry perfectly, something i have never been able to achieve despite countless treatments!! Christina is amazing - she is so friendly and knows her stuff and the whole staff was so nice and helpful. I HIGHLY recommend Hair Bar and will absolutely be coming back for my next Keratin treatment in 3-4 months!!!!
Its unbelievable. I have had the worst experience with my Keratin treatment at Hairbar 3rd Ave location. The manager Olga was nasty and rude. They have changed their process since Covid because they want to rush you to get more customers. I did my keratin here two times and each time it lasted for one year. But third time it didnt even last a month. I emailed them and called them about this before but their customer service is terrible.No wonder they have bad reviews recently. I have had great experience before with my hair stylist Yulie but Im definitely not gonna go back there again. There are many other places in the city that treats the customer with RESPECT.
My sisters and I recently visited to get the keratin treatment done. The hairdresser was well aware of our hair textures and told us she knew how to handle it. We left the salon very unsatisfied. To top it off the amount of product that was used did not match the amount we paid for, it was very little product used on our hair. The workers were rude and unprofessional when greeting and talking to their customers.
Today I visited hair bar NYC and Christina was my stylist. I was an amazing experience, the staff members are friendly and very courteous. The place was very clean and I absolutely love the keratin treatment I had done. I will definitely be returning here.
Like others mentioned before me the lack of professionalism here is top notch. I’ve been a loyal customer of Hair Bar since 2014. Every year, twice a year like clockwork, I go in to get my 24 karat keratin treatments. I went a month ago and my hair is already back to its baseline of being curly/frizzy. I called to see if they could re-do the treatment as I’m sure something went wrong. Again, I’ve done this treatment twice a year for about 6 years at this point and I’ve mastered caring for keratin treated hair. I was told by the master herself Olga that it was likely due to poor hair maintenance (I’ve only used their signature shampoo and mask) or activities like going to a beach/pool ... in October ... during the pandemic .. ok. They “cleaned house” last year due to the unprofessionalism, I think it’s time to clean up again.
I’ve been going to the same place for keratin for years and was forced to make a change as the place was no longer offering the service. A friend referred me to hair bar and I recently went and had the keratin. It came out amazing !! I was nervous to let someone new do the treatment because I’ve had bad experiences before but Olga was so great, quick, and made the process painless!!Thank you!!
I’ve been going here for years and it seems like they are constantly improving. Recently changed the drying/heating process for Keratin and it makes it so much more bearable to breathe in there. Worth it for a decent keratin treatment at a very decent price
The new location on 29th and 3rd is incredible. Olga did an amazing job with my hair and it feels and looks SO much better. I will definitely be back. Thank you Olga for such an incredible experience! They were also very sanitary and clean.
I just got the silk touch plus treatment with Christina! She is very professional and knowledgeable about the different keratin treatments. My hair feels amazing silky smooth. I have tried this treatment elsewhere and I can not compare the results! I’m very happy that I came here!
I’ve been coming to Hair Bar NYC 3rd Avenue location for years. I have always done the 24k keratin treatment which I loved. Today, I tried the silk touch keratin treatment and Botox treatment. I love it. You can rinse your hair the same day, no bad chemicals and it smells yummy. Ask for Christina, she’s the best!
I always go to Christina for both my hair cuts and Silk Touch keratin treatments and I love my hair! I just got a new haircut today—I went from medium-long to collarbone length—and it’s perfect! Christina listened to my ideas and gave me a stylish new ‘do that’s perfect for my hair texture and bone structure. I definitely recommend Christina at Hair Bar NYC (Kips Bay)!
Hair Bar NYC is my go to place in the city and today I had Nancy Roze do my hair - keratin treatment, cut, wash and style. WOW. She literally transformed my hair from a mess to looking like I just stepped out of a magazine.All of the stylists here are so amazing, friendly and professional. They welcome you and are so accommodating. Nancy in particular really took her time and focused on every little detail. I cant recommend Hair Bar or Nancy enough. It feels like family here and my hair has never looked so stunning.
Great experience with Giovanna, she is so sweet and has amazing customer service skills. Giovanna recommended the Botox treatment for my hair, and the treatment worked wonders, my hair feels smoother, definitely less frizz and a lot easier to manage. Got burnt so many times, my stylist had very, very long nails and would scratch my skin very hard every time she tried to bring my hair from my forehead to back. Additionally, my ears were also hurt by her carelessness with the comb spikes (she brushed REALLY hard with her sticks). Speaking solely on the service, it was not a pleasant experience.I also did not appreciate the fact that tip was done through cash or venmo - the latter actually reveals your identity to them...
Can’t beat the prices or the service. I tried every keratin out there and haven’t looked back since finding Hair Bar on 3rd ave. I’ve requested specific stylists in the past, but it doesn’t really matter, any one you get will be great!
Got 24 Karat keratin treatment done. I had a Groupon but ended up paying extra. For length and thickness. The texture went away in just 1 wash. Not very satisfied.

I came to the third avenue location for the first time and did a silk touch keratin treatment with Cristina. She is awesome and really attentive and easy to talk to. My hair came out amazing and so shiny & soft. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend Cristina.
I just did the keratin treatment with the stylist named Isabella 2 days ago, she was really pleasant. She knows her job and she is friendly. All the rest of them were good as well. The lady at the front desk was very nice, and had a great attitude towards all customers. I am going to take my 2 girls too and for sure I will go back again for myself. love it! Totally recommend.
I went to the hair bar on 30th and 3rd ave and from the moment I walked in everything was clean and organized. I loved everyone there, they were super friendly and funny. I got the 24K gold keratin treatment done by Christina who is just an amazing stylist and is very easy to talk to. I absolutely love this place, they play great music and their prices are reasonable. I’ll definitely be getting my hair done here for years to come!

First time here. I went to get a keratin treatment, my hair is looking shine and frizz free. Adriana pays a lot of attention to detail and gave me a awesome layer cut.
I have been here a couple times for the ker 24hr treatment and it is amazing! It lasts for over six months and makes my hair so soft and never frizzy. Sam has done it for me both times and she does a great job as well. I highly recommend.

Loved my wash, cut, and blow dry. I didnt have an appointment but they managed to squeeze me and my mom in right away. Id absolutely go back if I was in town again. Only complaint is they didnt use any heat protection for my blow dry, which is important to me cause my hair is a bit damaged already.

I come to hair bar twice a year for the 24 karat keratin. Susanna does my hair and always does a great job. Price is very reasonable compared to other salons in NYC. I highly recommend booking hair bar 3rd Ave for your next keratin appt.
Hair bar nyc on 3rd ave is the best! I was recommended to come to the 3rd avenue location and have been back 3 times since. Susana is my favorite, she along with the other stylists really take their time and make sure you get the best treatment that’s right for your hair.
Check their site for their discounts, otherwise they will charge you full price. Great service, they specialize in hair straightening, keratin treatments and they are great at it..

I have wavy and thick hair. I got the keratin treatment in july. The lady who did my treatment said that the treatment would last for 6 months. She mentioned the keratin treatment would leave my hair straight and silky for 6 months. Its been just one month and my hair was just the same as before I got the treatment. Now its wavy and I need to blow dry and straighten my hair. The treatment didn’t even last for 1 month
I got the 24 Karat Keratine treatment with Marion. She explained the whole process before we started. She even let me try out the hair straightening brush to see how it would work with my hair. Will definitely be coming back!
They damaged my hair and over processed it. The staff are completely unprofessional and sloppy. They use the sink area as a break area and are always visibly eating their lunch while they have clients in the chair. Go someone with more professionalism.
Ive had keratin other places in NYC, so I can confidently say that Hair Bar is the best!! Adrianna is very skilled and is a gem to chat with. Also, this Hair Bars prices beat the uptown salons and their keratin product doesnt flake or dry your scalp like other places Ive been to. In short, they offer a wonderful sevice at awesome prices.

I developed the worst rash all over my body. They made me sign a waiver about my allergy history. Just had my silk keratin yesterday. Woke up with the worst rash all over my body. Now I understand why they make you sign that piece of paper.

2022-05-06I got the most amazing 24 Karat Keratin treatment by Yolanda (Ely) Gomez! She is seriously incredible. I loved chatting with her and she gave me so much great advice about my hair in general. I will definitely be going back to her for anything with my hair going forward!!!! Can’t recommend her enough.

2022-04-30I moved to the city earlier this year and I am SO happy I found this salon. Nancy is fabulous, she does an excellent job with my color and makes my hair look radiant every single time. Great prices as well. I will never go anywhere else in the city for my hair again. Highly highly recommend her!

2022-06-30I usually dont post about businesses but I went to this salon for the first time because my sister in-law recommended it. I was NOT disappointed!!! Auggie gave me gorgeous highlights, the 24 Karat Keratin treatment and a trim. My hair looks and feels fabulous. NO FRIZZ WHAT-SO-EVER, its really amazing! I have been getting compliments all week. I will definitely go back. The staff is very polite and the salon is conveniently located. Thank you, Auggie!!! Im sending all my friends over.

2022-03-13Disha did such a good job on my hair. She talked me through the color and she knew exactly what I wanted. Very rarely I walk out of a hair salon actually happy with what I got but I am truthfully very happy with how my hair turned out.

2022-05-04Do yourself a favor and do not go here.. it was a terrible experience start to finish. The people are so rude and insensitive and have ZERO regard for their customers.Lucy, the manager, had difficulty even understanding the issue at hand and was so standoffish. The staff dealt with the situation better than her.Disha, one of the stylists had so much attitude and again was so rude and SO obsessed with her “points” and reimbursement that she literally refused service based on a technicality.Just so so disappointing.

2022-05-25I had a terrible experience 4 weeks ago which I’m still not fully recovered from. I had the silk touch keratin treatment and the results were terrible. I had serious damage and breakage to my hair and the color completely stripped. This isn’t my first time doing keratin and I’ve never had a problem. In fact I had done the 24k at hair bar years ago and it was fine too. This time however the results are awful and it doesn’t even look like I had a keratin treatment. My hair is frizzy and damaged and I wasted $200. I went back after I got the treatment because I could already see the damage when I got home. Lucy the manager didn’t seem concerned in fact she kept trying to tell me it was normal that my hair suddenly was so damaged and that all the small hair from the breakage was sticking up like I had been electrocuted. She took no responsibility and the product hasn’t even worked!! Is it the product, the application/staff or both?!! Either way I’ve tried calling several times and get the message that no one is available to answer and then the line disconnects. Someone needs to teach these guys how to run a business and if you stand behind your products and services make sure they work or at least take responsibility and think about the customer experience. I’m still livid, frustrated and applying heat to my hair everyday to remove the frizz. Unacceptable

2021-11-12I just moved to the area and went in for a VERY simple haircut… a 1 inch trim with a face frame…. I got a haircut by “Inez” who shouldn’t be a licensed professional… she cut my hair for approximately 2 minutes and chopped of CHUNKS of my hair to the point where I had to ask her to step away fromMy hair. Luckily a woman named “sarah” was able to save my hair and was the only positive experience from this location. She was only able to salvage my haircut, admitting that Inez had ruined my hair already. When it was time to pay the manager only gave me a slight discount telling me “bad haircuts happen” and there was nothing she could do about it. She was rude and non remorseful of the fact that a hair technician she had hired had given the worst haircut I’ve ever seen. My main takeaway from the experience is that I will never go back, will tell my many friends in the area to never go, will tell you to never go and I hope that Sarah (who is wonderful) finds a new place of employment. Would give it 0 stars if I could.

2021-12-03Best keratin I’ve ever had !!!! And I have had a lot! Disha was my stylist and I chose to use the silk touch keratin for the first time over the 24 k, because it is organic vegan and formaldehyde free. I was hoping it would still work and was shocked after my first wash to see it worked even better ! My hair dried as if I had it blown straight it is soooo silk soft and easy to manage I am so greatful for disha taking the time to really coat all my hair (there is a lot of it) and even giving me a little olaplex treatmeant bonus. Thank youuuuu!!!
