Hamilton Bridge Skate Park in New York
Man it is crazy that I had been to this park numerous time and never knew about this skate park but it is actually pretty nice!
A bit rough around the edges (and harder to skate than I thought) but pretty dope
Sketchy AF. Meth addicts and people shooting each other up with no discretion. Highly disturbing and very sad. Stay away.

One of the most amazing skateparks , It was so fun the first time I skated it.
Scary at night. Easy to get lost. Lots of low light areas to get mugged in.

2022-04-04Great park, great location. Difficult to navigate via maps, and can be a bit suspect day or night. Otherwise a safe place for all skaters/ handle-bar sports alike. NYC Parks Dept has been working to make improvements and are working with the local community and those who utilize the park.

2022-03-26Skatepark is awesome and beautiful view! Right under the freeway, make sure to bring your inhaler. A few people that were shooting up. Keep it moving while walking through.

2022-06-01Its lit, come through! Safe during the day. Youll probably see people shooting up on the stairs on the walk down, but dont worry they wont bother you.

2021-09-17The concept and layout are great but the location is horrible. Its right under the Hamilton bridge which is always congested which means a lot carbon monoxide intake. This place is completely abandoned, isolated and not well maintained; there’s debris and garbage all over the place. Junkies go there to shoot up heroine. I just took my 12 year old son who was excited about going there and to see the disappointed look on his face felt like punch to the gut. I had to explain to him why there were needles and other paraphernalia on the ground. This place was like time portal, it me back to the 80’s, the bad part of that era. It’s safe to say that we won’t be returning.

2020-09-26Google maps says this is “good for kids.” That’s just not true. We brought our 6 yr old for a treat, as he’d gotten pretty good at skateboarding. The actual skate park itself is pretty great. But the scene around the park includes a bunch of people doing drugs in broad view. And to enter the park you need to take a series of hidden paths down below the bridge where the park is located. Those paths have needles littered about like candy wrappers, and there are people nodding off in the bushes. Definitely NOT a scene for young kids. And, frankly, I’d be very uncomfortable with even a teenager going here, as the scene clearly encourages hard drug use.

2021-05-21Really cool graffiti palace of a skate park. Dont mind the homeless they are harmless if left alone. Just keep it moving and enjoy the views. A gem in NYC everyone should see at least once

2019-02-13Sick park, almost all concrete, lots of graffiti, lights, practically no authority or closing time, although might get a little sketchy at night. Ramps are in good shape, and TONS of variety. Not a ton of huge vert, but there are some decent 4-5ft qtr pipes and some wall ride spots. Lots of street stuff, manual pads, boxes, rails, ledges, stairs, pyramids, banks, etc. All in all, best skatepark Ive found since moving to NY a few years back. Highly recommended. Oh, and its FREE and no one is there to make you wear a helmet or pads.

2019-07-24It’s a sick skate park but filled with drugs and homeless people. Don’t go alone unless you are from the area. I don’t really feel uncomfortable or unsafe but it has a weird vibe.
