I will never go back to this hotel. The Hampton Inn & Suite located in Poughkeepsie is dirty. One staff in particular named Allison is very unprofessional and very rude. The other members were pleasant. She needs to be re-trained to improve her customer service skills!!! My husband and I rented a room with the whirlpool and the whirlpool did not work. We had to change rooms 3 times. The carpets were dirty. No towels!!! Disgusting!!!
We reserved this hotel through Hilton Honors program for one night - we needed a place to stop overnight to break up a 12 hour drive. When we arrived at 9:30pm after a long drive in the rain - we found our room in this condition: someone had urinated in the toilet and didn’t flush; towels for only two people - it was a room for 4 and we had reserved with notification that 3 people would be staying; a sketchy looking stain on the duvet cover; and possibly one of the LOUDEST air conditioners ever. We typically reserve with Hampton Inn because they usually have consistent quality. I’ll be re-thinking this strategy overall and complaining to the Hilton Honors program about this particular hotel. The fire alarm went off at 2:00am - not the hotel’s fault because someone had been smoking in their room. We had to evacuate and wait for the fire department. Once the fire department left - the alarm went off 2 more times! The second time was about 3.5 hours after the fire department had left. Short bursts but still unnerving… No apologies at all - they kept claiming that there was so much smoke they couldn’t get the alarm to reset. Somehow that doesn’t sound right to me but I can’t be sure. Just about the WORST night in a hotel that I can recall…
Very clean rooms and entire hotel was clean. Front desk employees were always welcoming and helped us with any our needs. The room was big and clean and very comfortable. Will plan to use this hotel again in the near future. We also had our dog, Siberian Husky with us during our stay and everyone was friendly towards her. Excellent stay at the Hampton Inn Suites.
I give this place zero stars but I am only able to put one star. I accidentally made a reservation for a Friday night instead of Saturday night. I called immediately to take care of the situation. The first time I called I was told that the reservation was cancelled and there were no rooms for Saturday night. I looked online and noticed I could still book the hotel for Saturday so I was like let me call back and double check. When I called back I was put on hold for 15 minutes. I thought maybe the phone call got disconnected so i called back. I could hear the original receptionist i talked to in the background laughing and making jokes with his coworkers instead of looking into the issue like he said when he put me on hold. The second receptionist I spoke to told me I was going to be charged for the room on Friday night. I asked her how much and she couldn’t give me an amount I was going to be charged for cancelling my reservation. I asked to speak to a manager and she said no one was available. She ended up hanging up on me. I’m so glad that I didn’t end up at this hotel. I have never experienced such unprofessional service in my life. After this experience I will never book with Hampton inn or go to Poughkeepsie.
Room was clean, and beds were comfortable. Front desk staff were courteous. However, the room had a musty smell like mold or mildew, and the upholstered furniture looked stained and worn. Not worth the price we paid. Will likely stay elsewhere if we ever return to this area.
I typically love Hampton Inns and feel they are a great value. We stayed at this location about 5 years ago, but it showed a lot of wear. The staff was friendly, but not wearing masks. The room wasnt clean (food on the floor under the bed, stains on the box spring, bathroom didnt look clean and water leaked out of the shower and pooled onto the floor. The pool area also was not very clean and the water had a sheen/film. Whirlpool was out of service but dirty water at the bottom. Hoping it is just temporary and will get back up to standard.
What happened to this hotel? I stayed here about 4 years ago and it always was a great place to stay. There are a good 5 floors and NONE of the ice machines were working on each floor. I had to go to the front desk and ask for ice while they go to a hidden area to get some random ice that could have been in a cooler somewhere in a hidden kitchen. We couldnt wash our hands in the sink, we had to use the tub because the sink faucet would spread water all over the counter. On top of it all, there was only one elevator. We have to find another regular hotel because this one was NOT it. No, seriously, what happened? I gave two stars because it WAS quiet. If you want quiet, this is it.
In town for a event and had to stay 4 days. The carpet was so dirty and the hallways smell like cigarettes even though there are no smoking signs all over the place. The gym had no AC, the rooms need updating really bad, the Air Conditioning Unit in the room was so loud sounded like an airplane taking off every 2 mins . Our friends room sprung a leak in the ceiling and ruined their laptop. Had to beg for towels not even our trash can was emptied during our stay.
If you want a clean, comfortable, no nonsense place to stay while visiting the Dutchess county in the Hudson Valley, NY- this is the place to be. The staff is certainly cordial & efficient. My sister booked us the room & we ( my husband, grandson & I) were upgraded to a very nice, spacious suite. It would accommodate a person on a business trip quite well because of the size of walking area in the room, the kitchenette, a huge working desk, couch, chairs & the queen beds it offers; plus several electronic charging stations. I liked that the bathroom has a shower stall instead of tub, clean & brightly lit with bath amenities. They offered the usual light self- served breakfast. Aside from the room, the next best feature for me is the location as it is situated right by US Route 9, close by the IBM office in Poughkeepsie and only 10- 20 mins drive to the Hyde Park historic sites of Franklin D & Eleanor Roosevelt homes & Vanderbilt Mansion; also quite accessible if youre dropping off or visiting your students at the Marist College, Vassar or Culinary Institute of America (CIA).
Hotel was very very dirty. I was tempted to leave and stay at another location in the area, but had already paid a non-refundable $160 for our room. This location is not up to the Hilton or Hampton Inn & Suites quality. Find another location in the area to stay at for a cleaner, more up to date experience. I would give it zero stars, but the staff was very friendly.
We were in room 528, teenagers from room 529 screaming and yelling after 11 then fire alarm went off at midnight, they were seen by me running from elevator direction to their room. Was told alarm was because improper use of whirlpool tub. There was a humming and vibration on headboard wall that was very disruptive to sleep. When I spoke with desk in the morning he seemed a bit dismissive and i decided i would take it up with corporate instead of further discussing with him. He did say there were complaints about 529 and hotel personnel had to go up and speak with them.
Rooms are clean and have what we need. Friendly service at desk. Breakfast is usually good -- but during covid was curtailed. (Next time, we hope that wont be a problem!)This is the third time we have visited this hotel, and plan to visit again next time we are in Poughkeepsie.Definitely recommended.
Positive: Great location and ample parking. Negative: On November 6 at a bit after midnight, we were startled out of bed with a false fire alarm. We went to bed early since we had to wake up at 3am to catch a flight out of LaGuardia. We had trouble getting back to sleep after that.
This is starting to fall into disrepair most of the carpet is stained in the rooms & hallways it needs a good cleaning, the breakfast was the lamest I have ever seen in a Hampton Inn they also need to hire a good landscaper to trim the bushes & trees the place is a mess outside. Staying here will probably effect my decision on weather I stay at a Hampton in the future.
Let me start off by saying my stay was great here! I came with my Bf and his friends on a couples trip. The room was very clean and smelled so good. I did bring my own bleach and cleaned the bathroom but it was very clean! The room was clean as well. When I checked-in the service was great but I gave 3 stars because of check-out. So the morning of check-out I asked the guy at the front if they did accident reports. He just looked like he had no clue what I was talking about. Unfortunately I had slipped and fell out the tub and flat on my back that morning. There was no shower mat in the tub. honestly Im not sure if hotel use shower mats anymore? Im not at all blaming the Hampton Inn for my fall (THINGS HAPPEN) but I definitely would have felt much better if I was able to make documentation for the near future. It would have been nice if staff had more knowledge when it comes to customer safety. Oh the coffee was great but the. To-go breakfast bag was Hmmm lol dont waste your time.
The room had a an indistinct odor masked by an air freshner .The carpet was soaking wet by the air conditioner the television did not work at first, not until the concierge fixed it.Waking up in the morning the stink of mildew cloth greeted me.I complained to the morning guy as I handed him my card. He just charged me,smiled and said nothing we can do about it now...Worst place ever!Want my money back!
Staff is very friendly and nice but the manager/owner needs to badly update this hotel. Dingy interior. Rooms smell stale and hello, 2003 is calling and they are asking for the 25” TV in my hotel room back!! Seriously guys, for the price of this room for one night you can go to Walmart and buy a 40+” TV. That would at least be a start on bringing this hotel into this century. Oh and the internet…good luck opening an email or watching a video on YouTube. Slowest service ever. I gave up and just used my T-Mobile data. It was ten times faster. 4.98Mbs download and 2.47 upload. AOL dialup was faster than that!!!
I use Hampton Inn as my go to stop whenever I can when Im on the road.Ive had very few negative comments. This was the worst Hampton Inn I ever stayed in.Lumpy beds, fridge didnt work, shabby everything and the A/C was stuck on 70.The person at the front desk was a nice guy, but this place needs some refreshing.
The room was cleaned, however the ladies public bathroom was dirty, papers on the counter top. Hallways were dirty, in need of vacuuming. Asked to have the room service and it was never doneHad to go in person to get clean towels and toilet paperAnd lets not talk about the grounds, there was trash all over. I have stayed in numerous Hampton Inns, this one was by far the worse. The front desk personnel were very professional and helpful.
I would leave less stars if I could. This place has went down the tubes. Had bed bugs in our originally assigned room and moved to the next and its the same. You could tell the place was not kept clean. Staff blamed Covid but I went to another hotel nearby and it was spotless. Its a shame because weve stayed here in the past with no issues. Just stay away this place is not the same.
The staff at Poughkeepsie were courteous, polite and very welcoming. The room was clean and without any issues. Having only a in room shower was great as the walk-in was huge with lots of space in the bathroom as well. I loved having the choice to select my own room prior to check on and the option of late check out. Breakfast was plentiful! I would definitely stay at this location again close and convenient to stores & restaurants.
Suite was a good size and very clean. They indoor pool was unexpectedly large and really nice. Requested toddler bed in advance and it was setup in room upon arrival. The free breakfast had nice variety. Afternoon/evening coffee and tea station was a nice addition. Hotel staff was very nice and accommodating.
The location is great if you are looking to stay near New Paltz, hike, go to a winery or the culinary school and save a few bucks. The two nights we stayed we unfortunately heard a domestic dispute one night and someone pulled the fire alarm the second night. The staff was very friendly and the hotel was pretty clean.
I stayed here for a wedding happening at a winery nearby. The room was very spacious and had every amenity needed. The staff was very friendly. They also leverage a lot of technological tools to make your stay even better, like digital room key and they text you to ensure you are satisfied or need anything. I thought that was a nice touch. The breakfast also offered a nice selection. I would stay here again.
Everything was fine with the hotel, well besides a little peeling wallpaper/paint in our room. It was decent enough for a one night stay. Rooms were clean, staff was pleasant. It wasn’t until the morning of check out, I was in the bathroom and my husband yells to me “a bed bug”!! I ran to see and sure enough a bed bug crawling on the pillow. I, personally, had never seen a bed bug, but my husband knew what it was. I googled images and it was identical. Trapped it in a cup, brought down to front desk. Reception apologized profusely, confirmed it was a bed bug and removed all room charges. I was so disgusted that we had just spent the night in that room, unaware of bed bugs. We packed all our stuff and left. Threw most of our clothing away, just in case. Be careful and make sure you check the room when you check in.
At first my room appeared to be very clean. After settling in, I noticed that one of the comforters had a brown stain on it. Then there was actually food left on a plate in the microwave. Dog bones left in the cabinet. Its definitely a housing hotel for low income or party hotel. Now I know why it was so cheap.
The people are very pleasant and the hotel and rooms are very clean and cozy. They offer breakfast even though we didnt take advantage of it since we love sleeping late on their awesomely comfortable beds. Highly recommended! Definitely coming back whenever I visit here!
This was our third time staying at this hotel, and we had a very positive experience. The front desk staff was friendly and upgraded our room without us asking when we arrived. The room was spacious with a full kitchen, the breakfast buffet was above average, and the hotel was clean. Thumbs up!
I was there on 04/01/20 and was very disappointed. My husband accidentally dropped the remote behind the bed in between the headboard. When my husband moved the bed to get the remote it was very dirty there was used tissues, wrappers, and a balloon and the bed skirt had a big stain. I called the manager to switch me to a different room and so they moved me to the fifth floor and well that was no better as soon as I went to the bathroom there was a dry pee stain on the toilet seat. Honestly with this whole CoVid 19 I wound expect it to be clean but nope, I was wrong. I asked them for a refund and left to a much better hotel. I will never be coming back.
Very nice hotel friendly staff unfortunately the jacuzzi didnt work for the days that I was there which were three or four. fire alarm went off in the middle of the night that was a bit scary took the fire company quite a long time to get there and clear the building that was not a good night sleep for sure. breakfast was good but one morning I was like one minute late and they had thrown it all away. Sad they didnt keep it for a local food pantry, that might be the thing to do Hilton. But the rooms were nice conveniently located reasonably priced so Im going to give it a four, should be kind of a three and a half but theres no 3 1/2 star capabilities. Merry Christmas everyone and Happy New Years... Safe travels 🙏🎄
I always prefer to stay at Hampton Inns because I know itll be a positive experience. The room here has been nice, and the staff are super friendly. The breakfast was good, there was plenty to choose from. My room is clean, the bathroom is nice. Overall, Ive really enjoyed my stay here.
The lady who is there at night is super nice and very friendly and has a funny sense of humor. Its clean and the rooms are a decent price and the breakfast is free. Here at the Hampton inn I feel like they have way better breakfast options than any other hotel or motel Ive been to. I have no complains whatsoever.
The staff was friendly and attentive. The rooms were clean and well maintained. Most impressively, the shower reminded me of a shower at home. Good water pressure and temperature; the shower head was at an appropriate height and fully functional. I was there for business, but would definitely consider the Hampton Inn for a future personal stay.
I booked a room late and there was wedding the same weekend, so all that was left was disabled accessible room with two queen beds at a premium price. Which is totally my fault, just disappointing. Aside from that, the hotel was very clean and well kept. The breakfast seemed nice, I didnt partake. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. Ammenities were standard. It,s very convenient to IBM if thats youre thing. A short drive to Vassar college as well.
First let me say we choose Hilton for all our weekend get aways. We are diamond members. I say this to quantify my bad review. There was Garbage all over parking lot. Garbage in hall and entrance was overflowing for 24 hours plus. Hallway carpets needed to be vacuumed. Strong cleaner smell in room.I will not choose a Hampton Inn anytime soon.
Our stay here was trouble from day 1. I had booked the room as a no refund, advanced pay reservation through my Hilton honors app. Within 2 days of booking I had to call because the hotel had charged me again, even though Hilton hotel chain had already received my payment. I had called a month in advance to see if I could check in 1 hour early. I was told I had to call the morning of my stay and maybe I could check in early. I called the morning of and spoke to Jason, who was neither helpful or considerate. Ok, so no early check in...I found a public restroom to change for a wedding. Late at night, when we finally did check in, I was unfortunate enough to get a room right by the elevator. Between late night drunks and early morning screaming kids, a restful sleep it was not! The room was outdated and awkward, heavenly perfumed to hide any odor, and the TV was so far from the bed that there was no way to enjoy it while dozing off. After a rough night, I woke and went to shower and found no hot water... My wife had the same issue an hour later. Completely unacceptable! Finally, I have 2 $50 charges on my credit card after checking out. Im assuming these are incidentals and will be refunded, but nothing was ever disclosed to me. I really regret booking this hotel, and in fact it has been my worst stay at any Hilton hotel... ever! I had booked because I have had good experiences at Hilton hotel before, but this has put a sour taste in my mouth. Never again!
The hotel was nice, although the room (IBM suite) did not have a refrigerator and no supplies at all (utensils etc.). However, Katie at the front desk was beyond than exceptional. She went above and beyond to cater to my children. We were incredibly pleased and impressed. My kids will never forget it. Thank you!I am
Had to book a room last minute. I called and had a reservation less then 10 minutes later. I had limited interaction with the staff for to my arrival, time I was working and the late hours I got back. Front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. The room which was a king suite was a bit much for what I needed but it did its job. It was a beautiful hotel that seems to have been recently updated.
Second time I stayed with this chain of hotels. The one near Albany was better.Few things need fixing though.#1) breakfast needs fixing. One day we showed up around 9 and there was very little to choose from. Eggs were gone and not replaced. Oatmeal was almost gone and we had to scrape the pot to get some. There were muffins but no bagels.#2) Good luck finding a place to sit and eat breakfast (should you get any). Seating is severely limited. I guess you can bring things back to your room but there were no trays left so.. good luck with that.3) The hot tub was broken (no big deal) the pool seemed lackluster but the water fountains in the pool room? OMG! Can someone call the health department? I have never seen anything filthier on my life! Public toilets in the NYC subways are cleaner than the water fountain. DONT PUT YOUR MOUTH NEAR THAT4) The room was mostly clean. Expert for whatever that was spilled on the carpet, maybe it was carpet cleaner? I dont think so but I dont know what it was.5) The bench was dirty, the fabric had stains on it. We didnt sit on it. Couch was cleaner but also had some large stains on it
The entire interior seems to be fairly new-ish and well-maintained. The staff was efficient and attentive without being fawning. I stayed in a suite room, which was large and well-appointed. The fitness center was likewise well maintained, with more than enough equipment to accommodate multiple users. On the all a solid choice, and one I will definitely use again the next time Im in the area.
Upon arrival we were asked to sign a no smoking acknowledgment paper which we had no problem doing. When we went up to our floor the hallway smelled of an old ashtray. Then going into our room that smell was of mildew was disheartening. We put the air conditioner on to alleviate some of the smell only to have the air conditioner extremely loud throughout the night. The bedding was subpar. This is unfortunate since we are a Hilton honors member and use Hilton honors exclusively. I believe this location is an isolated incident and needs TLC.
Couldnt be happier with this property! Had a bad experience with a Hampton in in Hanover, PA but need an event space for work meetings on short notice and they accommodated us. Everything was perfect and my room was amazing. Helped by Fast Eddie at the front desk and he made my whole group feel special. Would highly recommend this property and will also give Hampton Inn another chance!
Great place to stay for a weekend getaway. The staff was knowledgeable about places to visit within the area and were very professional and polite. The room was clean and suited my needs. The room I stayed in didnt have a refrigerator but the staff let me keep leftover food in their fridge at the front desk.
Dried toothpaste was ground into the carpeting, the tub didnt drain well, and they used deodorizer like a teenage boy uses Axe body spray. Although there was plenty of space devoted to the workout room, it was poorly outfitted. Dumbbells only went up to 15 pounds, and the weight machine was really awful and missing pairs of attachments. I wish the hotel industry would do just a little research on what minimal equipment should be. Theyd save a lot of money wasted on absolute junk.I would never go back to this hotel. I almost left after just a day because I looked into the nearby Holiday Inn. That hotel had a nice gym and clean rooms that didnt wreak of deodorizer spray. Had it not been for the fact that a large group of us had reservations at the Hampton, I would have relocated to the Holiday Inn.
Levels of cleanliness are good but the layout of this hotel is weird and its hard to get a good night of rest. They placed me on the first floor right next to conference rooms and a room called pantry where workers start bumping around at 5:30am. That combined with the loud air conditioning unit kept me up most of the night. They also have a system where they text you to ask if your room is ok. They texted me someone elses name which was just weird.
The location was ideal for visiting FDR library and Culinary Institute of America. Bathroom was pretty spacious with ample counter space. Water pressure was very good in the large walk-in shower. I also liked the Neutrogena toiletries. The downside was that the hallway, the room furniture and carpet felt outdated. The bath towel rack was right on top of the toilet. I could not think of a worse place for it. The bed itself had good firmness, but the comforter was very heavy. There were free WiFi and complementary breakfast.
Stayed in Hampton Inn & suites in Poughkeepsie 6/22/17 – 6/26/17. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Room floor dirty, NOT vacuumed in days. Mold in bath tub/shower. NO hotel or local info in room. 2:00 a.m. fire alarm, NO instructions, night clerk had car parked under front lobby canopy. Electrical outlet in bathroom very loose, shock hazard. Door to swimming pool so dirty I didn’t want to touch. Tried using two different vending machines, neither worked. Woke up one morning with note under door explaining parking lot sealing, move your car or it will be towed, this was a four day project during several graduations and weddings occurring (stupid planning). On checkout, Esme (desk clerk) refused to give me a receipt, said I had to go on line and get it from the third party booking agent, and, was very rude about it. DO NOT stay at this dirty place.
The Hampton inn in Poughkeepsie is modern, clean, quiet and comfortable. Went to visit a friend that was in town for business. I do like the environment. I did not get a chance to see a room. However soon i will take some time to relax. Will give a more detailed review.
A fairly standard Hampton Inn. Suites are large and spacious. Beds are (too) soft and lumpy. Premises are clean. Concierge is friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet offers a decent selection of typical hotel fare. The room wasnt ready at the promised (early) check-in time, which was a drag. All in all, not a bad place to stay when crashing in Poughkeepsie for the night.
Terrible. The place looks okay on the surface, but its pretty dirty and run down once you look a little closer. Also, AVOID the LAUNDRY room. I was on a business trip and needed to do a good amount of laundry. I put it all in on cold water and medium heat dry. Once I got it out of the dryer and tried them on, I realized everything had shrunk 2 sizes so that it was unwearable. 8 shirts, 3 shorts, a button up, and a pair of jeans ($300 in clothes) I complained to the front desk person and assistant expecting some kind of resolution for a reservation made for 2 weeks, but I got told Sorry, thats too bad. A little ridiculous for a customer willing to stay so long at your establishment. Elevator is sketchy to say the least. AVOID THIS PLACE.
I just wanted to say one thing. I was only there for a short time, but got to have breakfast before I left. It was Literally the greatest hotel continental breakfast I have ever had. I barely noticed anything else....I was distracted.....by THE GREATEST. Hotel Breakfast. I have ever eaten.
Didn’t like our stay here. I don’t understand for what I paid almost $200 per night... room was mediocre (although it was clean, no issues here) but building is quite old, swimming pool was closed.. breakfast was “take-out” and it was awful, it only included bottle of water, apple and 2 super unhealthy sugary items...
This motel is great. This is the second time we have visited Poughkeepsie and have never been disapointed with our stay. The rooms are clean and spacious and ever associate that works at the hotel are polite and and always there to help what a great group of people and I am usually hard to please. At this time Iwould like to give a special shot out to Carolina at the front desk she is lovely person even helped us set up a GPS both me and my wife could not figure it out.Congratulations to hotel manager you have hired the best ans you run a tight ship . THANKS.
The worse hotel ive ever experienced. I travel to hotels very often for my job, but this place is on some other level. I didnt have my ID, and the person there literally cursed me out and told me to get out. He ended up calling the police on me and telling me Im racist. If you see a guy named JEFF at the front, be VERY careful. I ended up going to another Hilton hotel across the street that treated me like gold. Embassy Suites right next door is where you should be staying.
Me and my fiancé booked a suite for our anniversary. Our first room was great and had everything we could ask for except the loud jacuzzi noise, so we were forced to switch rooms. Our second room lacked a lamp that our first room had and there was no where to hang towels in our second room. Everything else has been fine we are just upset we kind of had our room downgraded.
Below average rating due to a fire alarm going off 3 times during the night. I was in a handicapped room (they assigned) and the strobe light went off all night and they couldn’t turn it off. Mgr reached out to me after I left comments on Hilton’s website and made amends. Was very impressed with he mgr.
Hampton .... never had a bad experience until I stay at this one last night. First impression was great with the customer service after that wooo.they need to pay attention to the cleanliness of the building interior. I noted carpet need to be vacuum in a lot of areas - the presentation of the bed and linens wasnt great .I felt ashame because I always say highly of the Hampton but this one need a lot of improvement with its grooming .....
Hotel is very clean, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I am here on a business trip and using one of the meeting rooms and its perfect for business group meetings. The GM is super nice and very helpful. The location is very close to downtown Poughkeepsie and lots of local restaurants.
Worst hotel stay ever, Im a Hilton Honors member who travels the country for business. I never have had such a poor experience in the 100s of hotels Ive stayed in. People doing drugs on the property, fire alarm going off in the middle of the night, general manager not responding to phone calls. Very poorly run, I would truly recommend finding a different hotel for the price.
There was a strand of someone else hair fused to the bathroom sink which was gross, but we arrived too tired to care to complain. I would not go back due to this, but one person not cleaning thoroughly enough could be once and a blue moon miss. Check other review, and if there are similar cleaning issues then you should avoid. If not its probably fine.
Before I go further into my review I would like to thank 2 ladies that did an outstanding job to accommodate me while I stayed for 2 weeks, these ladies go by the names of lovely and Lee (very kind girl with glasses) who I felt went above and beyond for me and were the ONLY two ladies to even talk to me, let alone show kindness to me,(these ladies are exempt from the rest of this review) however the rest of the staff should take serious lessons from these two on how to be proper Hampton employees and I say that because I worked at a Hampton for over a year and we had high standards that were set for our staff. We had to be friendly, out going, and attentive to all of our guests to ensure they were all very satisfied with their stays, and this staff does not show that what so ever they pick and choose who they speak to, they do a half a*s job of cleaning (especially the guest microwave) , and they let their attitude get in the way of what true professionalism really is! At my Hampton they would be fired. I also have serious concerns on breakfast and if the food is being properly cooked, I had cold potatoes, half cooked links, and the eggs were room temperature. I even saw a girl re stocking the bagels and not rotating the older ones to the front, this is serious and reflects on this hotel whether the staff or cooks care or not. I suggest the manager take more time in to properly training his staff or bring them to my Hampton and we will show them what true Hampton employees really are! .
We had a block of rooms for my daughters wedding!!!From check in to check out the service was the Best!! From Eileen in sales for setting this up to Lovley and Ashley at the from desk to Rich on the overnight and Especially the housekeeper Clara!! Thank you all for helping to make this special weekend extra special!!!
Place could have been cleaner and if youre going to look through a third party site make sure you call the actual hotel speak the front desk and make sure that the pool and the hot tub are open theyre indoors and I was not told until I got there they were closed along with the gym breakfast also was not served until 10:00 they stopped serving at least 5 to 10 minutes before 10:00 so I never got breakfast
We were looking at colleges in the area so we turned this into a mini vacation. The place was clean and staff very helpful, but not a lot to do in the area. You need a car for everything and I’m a city boy who loves to walk everywhere, and there wasn’t much to do, unless you drive.
This was our second stay at this Hampton. We were warmly welcomed and had a pleasant conversation with the two people who checked us in. We went to our room, a typical Hampton room, clean and comfortable. I would recommend that you somehow find a way to house the mini fridge and microwave. Seeing the fridge on the floor with the microwave perched on top just gives an impression that is more dorm room than$200 a night hotel room. I was surprised by breakfast. Its one the reasons that we always stay at a Hampton. The breakfast, while predictable, is good, and there are plenty of options. On this Sunday morning, it was less satisfying. We walked into tables that hadnt been cleaned, so we were trying to clean spills and crumbs and eggs with a dry napkin as we couldnt find an attendant. The orange juice was empty... all that came out was pale orange water. The trash cans were filled to overflowing, and the remedy when the staff person came out was to take off the top, tamp the trash down somewhat and then replace the top, leaving us with a trash can that was still overflowing. The waffle batter was empty or the spout was clogged- one young woman finally just picked up the container to pour batter onto the waffle iron. This was, perhaps just an off morning, but it wasnt what were used to. It doesnt mean that were giving up on Hampton, but it is something for management to consider.
I was forced to sleep on an awful pullout bed. I went to bed at 12:15 AM and couldnt sleep until 4 AM because it was uncomfortable and the vent was right next to me. The layout of the room was slightly awkward with the TV placement and the opposite bed placements. It was lucky I could switch to the actual bed for my second night because I could actually sleep.
The two ladies at night at the front desk helped me out perfectly my first day. My second day i asked about a charge and was on hold for 30 minutes just to get told it cant be cancled and has to be waited until i check out. In the meantime i got an overdraw fee on my card because of it being pending on 2 cards.
I would like to sent a special thank you to Christoper Bono, Jason Nipp, Jake, and Staff for making my Son Graduation banquet most memorable time in his life. The professionalism and hospitality was through the roof. They really will make you feel welcome and at home. I would Refer anyone to them. Ms. Buchalski and Ms. Eileen wonderful event planners. 2022-06-01Incredible staff that watch out for their guests. I cannot say enough about the tremendous assistance they provided me with. The next time Im in the area I know where Im staying, at the Hampton inn & suites. You wont be sorry you stayed here. Convenient location close to so many things. Easy access. Restaurants nearby. Shopping galore. A great experience.

2022-03-23Room was clean but dated. Toilet continued to run throughout the day. Pantry was almost completely bare. One elevator was down and broken and the gym equipment wasn’t functioning the clock in the gym was completely dead. There was plenty of parking and the area seemed nice enough. Just seems like management was missing a lot of attention to details. The associate who checked me in was pleasant. Won’t be staying here again. I stay at a lot of Hilton properties for work and this was not a good representation of the brand.

2022-05-24They gave me the hot tub room which there is not enough hot water to fill. The shower floor was filthy so you need to wear shoes in the shower or risk getting athletes foot. The TV didnt work and the phone cable was broken so it wont stay plugged in. I asked to change to another room. When I go down to the lobby, I find they are mocking me from just behind the desk and laughing at me. The worst customer service. Im updating this review since they did respond because they want to improve. The room I was moved too was fine and I was able to stay there for the duration of my trip. I appreciate that.

2022-02-13The room was generally clean and comfortable. However, the shower door didnt close well, the blow dryer did not work, their was an area where the wall was filthy and I had no light bulb in my bedside lamp. Ryan at the front desk didnt care and would not listen. In fact he kept talking over us so that we couldnt get a sentence in at all. The manager the next morning was very apathetic as well.

2022-05-06This hotel needs to be shut down for a complete cleaning. It smells of infection and so many people including me caught COVID there. The staff were great. Im scared to go back and miss more work.

2022-01-11Positive: Location was good for convenient for event we were attending, plenty of restaurants nearby, staff was polite, free breakfast was good. Negative: Bathroom was clean, but run down. There were broken/loose tiles on the bathroom floor, the shower slide door track was loose (it was a shower only room) and the shower drain was also loose/unattached. TV was a bit dated.

2022-04-24DIRTY, GROSS, OLD, AND SMELLY HOTEL. AVOID AT ALL COST. I was travelling with my kids, so we booked $350 per night suite with 2 queen beds and a sofa bed. We checked in at about 7pm only to find a pile of dirty towels and linens on the floor in the middle of the room. And I mean really dirty, with blood and fecal matter. See images. Absolutely gross. Not to mention it was supposed to be non smoking room, but it reeked of cigarettes and possibly vomit. The front desk person told me there were no other rooms available so I was forced to spend the night. The only thing they did for us was sending someone to pick up the gross stuff from the floor. Entire hotel was really dirty, the carpeting on the halls was stained, and it smelled. Also, the so called suite - from my experience suite usually has more than one room, there is separate living room with the desk and sofa and then there is a bedroom. But at this hotel suite means one room with two queen beds, plus a desk in the middle and the sofa in oppose corner. The images shown on the hotel website are very misleading, the same room was photographed from different angles to make the impression of separate rooms. My advice is to avoid this place, there are two other hotels nearby (less than a mile) that Ive stayed before, with clean multi room suites at the same price.

2022-05-07We Stay at the Poughkeepsie location multiple times a year while visiting family. It’s clean and quiet and the staff are friendly. Breakfast isn’t a 5star but gets the job done. Great place to stay

2022-05-04Rooms need some updating. Our carpet was torn, wallpaper coming off the wall and stained. Terrible lighting. Fire alarm went off evacuating the hotel in the middle of the night for no apparent reason and was never addressed with guests. Disappointed in our stay.
