WE had a large block of rooms for my daughters wedding. Maryann was extremely helpful, but Hotel policy did not allow us to add rooms to block once filled. Many of our guests had to go else where because rooms and discounted room rates were not available. Hotel is average. Rooms were clean, pool out of service, they ran out of pillows and blankets, AC was not as efficient as I would of liked, breakfast was average. Centrally located right off LIE and near venue. Was disappointing for a Hilton
Great big beds, very clean rooms, if you forget the little things they have extra to hand out to you. The pool was being renovated so didnt get to hang out in there like we were going to with the bridal party but all in all it was a good hotel and close to the hamlet which was a plus for everyone.
Hampton Inn really has it together. The To Go breakfast was varied and ample, a great alternative to the usual complimentary breakfast. Rooms are functional, efficiently laid out, nicely decorated and appear to be recently redone. Window treatments are especially nice, providing blackout if needed/desired and filtered light when daylight is preferred.
We have stayed at the Hampton Inn Commack multiple times. This stay was excellent, as always. The room and public areas were very clean, and the room was very quiet. We elected to have housekeeping only once in the 4 days, but it was completed in less than half an hour, before we got back from breakfast! Our only dissatisfaction, though temporary, was the to-go breakfast boxes necessitated by Covid. We decided to go elsewhere. There is a great diner adjacent to the property, & Starbucks next door. The hotel does provide free coffee & tea at breakfast time, though it used to be 24/7. Hopefully that will return.
The only reason we booked was for the Pool turns out they don’t have a working pool. They should remove this false advertisement from the website. We lost $180 dollars and were not refunded despite bringing it up with the front desk staff. They did not inform us upon check in and told us after we checked in. Very deceptive and unfair. The place looked clean and lovely otherwise however, we lived close by And we’re only looking forward to using the Pool.
I stayed at this Hampton Inn recently for two nights while in town for work. The hotel itself is conveniently located near coffee shops, quick restaurants (Chipotle, etc.), diners, and convenience stores. There is also quick access to the LI Expressway. The hotel itself is in desperate need of a renovation. The lobby colors are drab, the lobby furniture shows lots of wear, and the walls even have scratch marks from moving furniture, laundry carts, etc.The rooms have been somewhat updated but still absolutely need a renovation as well. Some of the in-room furniture is worn with cracks, scratches, or pieces missing. Beds were very comfortable. Doors are very old technology and do not support the Hilton digital key.My room was not extremely clean upon arrival. Despite the “Clean Stay” promise, my room had bobby pins on the floor (meaning the carpet was not vacuumed), bars of soap out of the package that I had not used, and someone else’s trash in my bathroom trash can. This does not give me confidence that the room was thoroughly cleaned, especially when considering the ongoing pandemic. Many staff and guests were not masked throughout my stay, but I would assume this is no longer mandatory based on CDC guidance. The front desk isn’t super friendly or helpful. I had some issues during my stay with employees who were either unhelpful or apathetic, so don’t expect the highest level of service here.If I needed to stay at this hotel again for work I would, but I wouldn’t willingly stay here for a leisurely stay. There are likely nicer, cleaner, more updated hotels in this area.
The place was nice clean inside and outside quiet threw out . The beds was soft fan in bathroom dont work . There was no complementary breakfast and the pool closed due to covid it should say it on the site guest shouldnt have to check in to fine out these things will be closed and you still will be charged full price . Other than that great place staff friendly and polite housekeeping is doing a great job with every thing being sanitized and wiped down. Good job house keeping they made me feel safe
Overall my stay with this hotel was ok. The rooms were very clean, tidy and organized. Room Service was amazing with maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of the room and i tip my hat to Housekeeping on that, because i imagine its not easy to do that kind of work day in day out. I wanted for nothing in that regard. However the stiffness of the mattress, limp pillows and the constant shutting on and off of AC during the day and night for 30-45 minutes at a time made my stay unbearable and uncomfortable. The internet connection was incredibly horrible. There is a option to purchase premier WiFi but that package was no better than the complimentary Wifi given for free. I was working remotely during my stay and i was not able to complete a lot of the work i wanted to do because the internet service was no good and kept disconnecting. It was so bad i had to find somewhere else to go just to find a stable connection. I went to the front desk and asked them for assistance on how to sign up for the premier WiFi and i was told there was nothing they could do to assist me because i had to willingly sign up for that when i had the chance to do so when i first entered the room. All in all a nice clean hotel, great housekeeping, but in terms of comfort, internet connection and the lack of service by the front desk, I am not sure if i will stay at this location again anytime soon. Especially given the amount of money i paid to stay for a week.
First, the front desk. We have been visiting the island, and have kept settling in this hotel. The front desk is friendly, no complaints about that. Even the workers around the hotel, those who collect garbage and such, are friendly. The rooms. We always get a double-bed room, and theyre decently sized. They arent large, yet not tight and small. There is a fridge and a microwave, along with a desk and a chair. There is even a stool where you can put your shoes instead of keeping them on the ground where everybody can trip on them, thats a plus! The beds and the pillows used are comfortable. The window in the room does not open, for obvious reasons. I wish there was some way to open them without the dangers of guests falling out. The bathrooms are nice. The size of them are perfect, the toilets are nice and large, and the go-to brand they use is Neutrogena, and they smell fantastic. There is no different shower head settings, and the water pressure can be lousy in a few rooms. The fans in the bathrooms barely work. Any ventilation that you need in the bathroom, the fan will not be the solution. ONE IMPORTANT PROBLEM Ive noticed is that the fridges suck at being cold. You cannot cram that fridge, or it will open up. Make sure the fridge is on, or else diabetics, or those that need refrigeration for anything to stay cool, will have warm items in the fridge. When staying there, a few large problems will pop up if you stay for a few days. One of them is, of course, the fridge problem. There is a gym for guests who want to use it, however the pool is still in the process of being re-done, and is not available for guests to use yet. The elevators are a bit scary, they are making sounds I believe they should not be. The staircase is not obvious for guests. {{And one of the biggest problems I have encountered here is that because the vents in all of the bathrooms in every single room are connected as one, you will smell either heavy smoke OR heavy weed some days. Which guests should not even be doing to begin with. And its nauseating. If this situation was addressed immediately, I would higher my rating.}} RECENTLY, I have not encountered this problem, and obviously it was addressed. Beautiful!Would I recommend this place to people? YES. It is one of the better hotels out there. Families, couples, friends, whoever. When you put a do-not-disturb tab outside your room, they will not bug you at all. And, the regular checkout is at 12:00 P.M., late checkout at 1:00 P.M.
It was ok. Had to ask for towels and cups. The bed was ok. They could have better pillows. The front desk attendant gave us one key and it didnt work. After traveling almost four hours I was not happy. The air conditioning is very loud when youre trying to sleep. Very close to Starbucks. Did not use pool or gym.
SUPER clean which I appreciate. No mask policy which makes me SUPER uncomfortable (at MINIMUM all staff and guests should be required to continue wearing masks in the elevators and lobby). If not for the mask thing, theyd be four stars. (The other missing star is for slow and sporadic internet.)
Positive: We arrived very late and the Hotel Reservation Desk was so  welcoming to us. Hotel employee was cheerful and helpful in finding our reservation and to give us instructions regarding using the Internet, Breakfast in the morning and overall excellent s Negative: No at all
We had a flood in the basement the day after Christmas so we had to spend time in a hotel. We chose Hampton Inn because it was close to home. It was definitely a good choice. The ratings said it was exceptionally clean...so important right now! And they are immaculate! There were wipes and sanitizer for everyones use. We felt very safe and secure. The location is convenient for anyone traveling...right off the LIE. But the best part was the room and staff. The room was VERY comfortable...king size bed, great mattress and wonderful pillows. There is a LARGE TV, microwave, mini refrigerator. Not a bad place to spend almost 2 weeks unexpectedly. And the staff was FANTASTIC!!!! Very helpful when I needed something, always friendly and pleasant. I had a lot of great conversations with them. And the service staff were wonderful. Again, whenever I needed something, they were there and went out of their way to accommodate me...they were SO great...made my day start out so nice. I would absolutely go back.
Shower door broken. Can only get bottled water when you check in even though your a Hilton Diamond, staying multiple days and it 93 degrees outside. Had to carry luggage down 4 floors as both elevators are broken. Very few TV stations compared to other Hampton Inns. When you say anything the staff just says its the franchise owners. This should.not be allowed to be a high priced Hilton property
Convenient location, room was very clean, outdoor area was very clean as well as the breakfast area. We missed our flight and needed to stay an extra night in NY. My family member has a hearing impairment and does speak a little louder than the average person but we have never had a challenge with it.... but it did cause my neighbor discomfort. We were provided options to have our conversation around the common areas which was appreciated. The staff was extremely professional and compassionate about both my neighbor and my situation. The service is what made a difference and made me feel comfortable. Under renovation but service is top notch. Marian, the night auditor is amazing. She greeted me with a smile, processed the check-in quickly, explained all of the amenities and was extremely professional and courteous. She is an asset to the property and it was lovely connecting with her.
The only thing it has going for it was that it was clean no bugs just absolutely no frills. No closet space odd to have a curtain for a closet in a hotel. Baseboards were loose. They need to do a swept of the rooms take inventory of what needs to be fixed. Better than the Mariotts in Ronkonkoma, Medford and Patchogue areas. Stay away from those this hotel much better. The Four Points Hotel in Plainview has been best hotel in this particular area I have stayed in thus far. I recommend that. It is more $ but totally worth it.
Nice rooms, pretty good normal hotel free breakfast, some chairs out front for lounging. Free coffee and tea 24 hours a day which was nice. There is a diner out front of the hotel with good food. Only downsides were that the TV only certain channels would work, that was the same in multiple rooms we had, and the AC auto setting did not work so we had to keep it on all night. Other than those minor inconveniences it was a nice hotel and nice stay. The staff were all extremely friendly.
The lobby and continental breakfast area are very nice and look updated. The rooms are by far the best I have ever stayed in! Very newly updated and beautiful bathroom. They provide more then enough towels, extra toiletries if you forgot them, and in our two double bed room we had a mini fridge and a microwave. The breakfast had a huge selection and was very good. They also have a little shop in the lobby that sells drinks, small snacks, and ice cream for those late night cravings.
Not this Hampton. The rooms were not adequately cleaned and didnt have the Im clean sticker which is why I switched from Marriot to Hilton/Hampton during pandemic. Housekeeping woke me up by knocking at 8am on checkout day. surely there has got to be a better way. Checkout staff really wasnt engaged with her job. Checkin agent was delightful. Enough of because of covid we can offer breakfast . Do you know other hotels offer breakfast and restaurants are open. Maybe start with something cold and wait on hot items? I know you are trying not to staff but guests are ready to come back!
The hotel staff are very nice and cautious. However the hotel itself is a bit dated, the doors, shower curtain. During my visit the hallway carpet is being fixed so they are probably planning a complete renovation. (I hope). Breakfast is decent. Overall not a bad place to stay.
Beautiful hotel, clean accommodating, modern, updated and comfortable stay. Location is close to major road and interstate as well as walking distance to stores, shopping, eateries. Staff are friendly, accommodating, courteous. Rooms are clean, updated, comfortable. Bed was comfortable and pillows thin but hotel offered multiple pillows as requested. Blanket was thicker to accommodate winter weather and thermostat comfortably warmed the room. Breakfast served from 6-10am each morning with wide variety of options to accommodate dietary needs. My kids, husband and myself all were able to find multiple things to eat with our differing dietary needs. Food was fresh, yummy, and clean dining area. The hotel also offers complimentary tea and coffee day and night in the lobby which my family frequented often. We stayed here 5 nights and I would happily do it again!
Great hotel and location. We were here for a funeral and the staff was incredible. The breakfast in the morning was better than most Ive been too also. The only thing I noticed that could have been improved is the TV had multiple stations that said were available but never came in. There were also several that were very fuzzy. The water in the shower was very hard to regulate, it was either scalding hot or luke warm. Other than those two things our stay was very comfortable. Would stay again if I ever had to be in the area.
Great service, beautifully lobby and bar. Nice rooms. Would have been 5 stars but my fridge wasnt working well. Staff called the night before I checked out to make sure my stay was adequate, mentioned the fridge and was kindly compensated for it through rewards points. Would stay here again.
Stayed here while visiting family and attending family funeral. Very clean, friendly staff and great breakfast. Coming from the West coast and driving a rental car, this place is really easy to find and centrally located. There is a Target and Shop Rite nearby for all your shopping needs. Room had a microwave and fridge. Walls seemed thin especially when there are noisy, bouncing kids next door. But overall a great stay. Served every need for my stay. Room was modern and bathroom modern and very clean.
Overall the stay was fine. It was a good price and close to where we needed to be. The breakfast in the morning was good, and the rooms were clean. The beds, on the other hand, were just about the least comfortable Ive ever slept on. It felt like a box spring on top of a box spring. Probably wouldnt stay again, just for wuality of sleep. If they change the mattresses, wed definitely consider staying here again.
Very nice Hampton with friendly staff, hot coffee and tea all day long , clean and very well taken care of. Has a very nice workout room with a good amount of equipment, clean towels and a large TV. Also has a pool.Price was about 140 per night. Breakfast was ok but not great. Recommend it highly!
The most important thing about staying in a hotel other than good hospitality, is a comfortable bed. The king size bed feels like Im sleeping on a large stone. The staff is friendly and hotel is very well kept. Keep in mind it is an older hotel. It has a fitness center as well as small pool on the first floor.
We used this hotel last week for our wedding and hotel block. It was great working with them. No problems. Place was clean! Breakfast was great a lot of options. Also it is convenient to stores, restaraints, etc. I would definitely stay there again if in the area. Also Maryann is great to work with! Always kept me updated on the block info!
Booked me for smoking room but told me it was non-smokung. I don’t smoke. Off to a bad start.. They would not change my room. Overall, dirtiest Hampton I’ve come across, from the lobby to the elevators and hallways. I can’t comment on the room because the cigarette odor was so bad I left and booked a Ramada. Credit to Hilton corporate as they refunded me and gave me points but, no credit to the property because they couldn’t care less and showed no hospitality. Rude staff.
This inn has awesome! Great room, great night(wink, wink) and then, had a great breakfast the next morning. King bed was very comfy, and a nice lounge area inside the room, put the cherry ontop. They even have a indoor pool, that is open until 11:00pm, which was nice and warm in room. Also, fitness buffs they have a small gym, to pump..you up! 😂
The hotel is great and I am a hotel snob. The hotel is very clean, plenty of parking, decent location and the staff is very friendly going above and beyond to help the guest. The hotel is updated and the rooms are a great size. The only slight negative is breakfast, its very crowded on weekends because the food itself is in a small room with no real flow and the food is average its certainly edible but not anything memorable. That being said its still a free breakfast which more than many places offer. Anytime my family visits the LI area this will be our hotel of choice.
Its a solid choice for Long Island - rooms and common areas are showing wear but are still in decent enough shape. The room layout is not my favorite Hampton Inn template, but its certainly not the worst. The fitness center is in good shape, with a good selection of well-maintained equipment. Id stay here again.
99% of staff and management were extremely accomodating with a smile and pleasant attitude, but that 1%... that one woman ruined my entire experience. She worked at the front desk during the day. She should not be in customer service. Bad attitude. Unfriendly. Un-accomodating. You know who you are but that wasnt the worst part of my stay. I was charged a $250.00 fee. I was accused of smoking in the room. I did not smoke in the room. $250. And I would not argue had I been smoking. Not once, not at all. I did not smoke. I requested a refund but Im being ignored. Drove all the way from Ohio. Is anyone willing to admit they were mistaken? Would anyone return my emails? I wish this huge corporation would be fair to me. krestivo61@gmail
Grandfather is very sick so my boyfriend drove me for 3 hours to go see him. Once we got there, they didnt accept our reservations because we were under 21. Even after my godmother drove there to let us in, they still wouldnt accept since she wasnt staying there overnight. I realize that policy is policy, but its a little hard to write a good review for a place that wouldnt let you in. At least the folks at the desk were kind enough to direct us elsewhere.
What can I say?? The most accommodating, friendly helpful staff.Had to stay away from our apartment while renovations being done...8 days...and lobby so great for us too..we used it as a gathering place after my mothers 100th birthday party.Every staff members was friendly and mind and courteous.10 STARS
I dont even know where to begin. we booked this hotel for my daughters wedding because of guests coming in from out of state. We were told that the hotel is under renovation but should be completed. Well, not even close. And I saw the upgrade to the rooms; cant even find a closet because they have a clothes rack hiding behind a curtain. I was mortified when I brought my 82 year old mother back after our rehearsal dinner and almost got stuck in the elevator. The maintenance man came and said OK should be good, and I made him stay on the elevator with us. My daughter, the bride, stayed the evening of her wedding and was put in the last possible room on the floor, before it was completely gutted and was woken up to jack hammers on Saturday morning. Not to mention the actual booking of these rooms was a nightmare! People were put in the block more than once; sometimes three times! Other guests were turned away being told the block was closed, when there were plenty of rooms still left. Very unprofessional sales manager; wont mention her name! Do yourself a favor and book a Super 8-- it would be a nicer stay. This place doesnt even deserve one star; but unfortunately you have to hit something.
With the exception that the room we stayed in had two double beds with very hard mattresses (one of the worst nights of sleep ever) its a nice, clean place. I understand they are slowly converting the double beds to Queens which is a welcome addition. Staff is very friendly and the breakfast is a nice bonus.
Nice clean place to stay for the weary traveler, get coffee and cookies at check in and a good breakfast too. Soft comfortable beds. Well worth checking in here for a few days, bring your suit for a dip in the indoor pool or your running shoes for a jog on the treadmill, even pump some iron if youre a gym rat.
Great place to stay at everyone there is nice and polite. The room are always clean.Only reason why i gave it 4 out of 5 stars when i had a great experience is 2 reasons. One of the front desk personnel talks about his personal business and how much he hates working here. If memory serves me correctly his name was Tony. And last time i was there i stayed for the weekend i was on the 4th floor. Every time I went to go get ice or walk by the ice machine I heard someone snoring behind the door. Just found it funny someone sleeping in a closet around 12am.But other then that great hotel to stay and would recommend it to everyone.
Grounds and hotel seem safe. Location near Sloan Kettering, stores, highway. Free breakfast from 6am-10am. Free coffee & newspaper in lobby. Theres a small gym, small business center and indoor pool. Staff is friendly. Room was stuffy/humid, a/c loud, rug/floors in room were dirty, fridge was running warm even on coolest setting.
This is my second time at this particular Hampton Inn. Im visiting from Florida for work. The location is convenient for my visits. Its right off of 495 (Long Island Expressway) and close to shopping and eating. The rooms are cozy and they seem to keep them clean. I wish they had better mattresses like other Hampton Inns (those pillow top, sink into, hug your body type) Ive stayed in along 495 (wonder why they dont? Hmmm!). Also, they can do better with their TV cable. Theres no cable channel guide like the others. Theres a channel that shows you the numerical channels but theres no whats showing? type of info. I think Hampton Inn is renovating their chain along 495. Ive stayed in 3 within the last month and half and they all are renovating. However, my stays have been pleasant.
Just not a fan and extremely expensive in my opinion for a Hampton Inn (location issue Im sure). The tv went out first night I was there and stayed out for like at least 16 hours. You have to download an app too and pay .99 cents to get a guide as to what is on the channels available to you. Then the room. The air conditioner seem to have a mind of its own. I would put it on before bed at like 68 and wake up in a suna at 4.m. because it just randomly shut off and never came back on. The carpet floor in the room is damp and sticky in spots. Room design make no sense. The closet is located in the far corner partially blocked by the nightstand. So getting the iron and ironing board out and hanging clothes up was just an awkward process because the closet only opens about 66%. I have stayed at over 50 Hampton Inns and I would put this experience in the bottom 5.
Great location, friendly staff, and updating rooms/facilities to create a more contemporary atmosphere. We have been staying at this Hampton almost yearly for over 3 decades and always enjoyed it. The build up of stores in the surrounding area has really made the location super attractive. Within walking distance you have a Starbucks, Chipotle, Chick-fil-A, Costco. Red Robin, etc. Access to the LI Expressway and other connecting roads is convenient. Unfortunately, we were told the indoor pool is going away due to low usage--thats OK b/c my son is almost 17, but we really enjoyed using it while he was young. Highly recommend this Hampton
Enjoyed my stay and they have breakfast for you .Free coffee and tea anytime of day or night. Friendly staff at the desk where you can get snacks also.It is easy to find right off the LIE exit 52 in Commack Long Island. The rooms are nice and clean and good for the whole family.
The room was clean and spacious but the bed was so uncomfortable. Either these are really old beds or they got tricked into buying rocks instead. The pillows were flat too which didnt help. I probably wouldnt stay here again since it was tough to get a decent night sleep when I was so uncomfortable.
An okay free breakfast for a hotel, but could be better. Cheese omlettes taste like they have cheese wiz in them. Carpet is dingy nasty. Bathroom had mold growing on celling, and in tub. Bed is too hard to sleep on your side. I have sleep apnea and find it too difficult to sleep on my back.
The hotel is nice but the staff is rude. At 9.30 in the morning there were no bagels, no cream cheese, no fruits, cereal, no plates and knifes etc. When we asked for them, the employee (Shaniqua, the food preparation assistant that works there for the weekends ... not sure if I spell her name right) said that people have lost their minds, you people should have come at 6 when we open and we - the clients - are horrible because we didnt put the empty whip cream bottles to the carbage cans. She started refilling cursing and murmuring. Her behavior was unacceptable for someone working in the hospitality business.
Loud! Constant noise from all directions. I stayed there for a week and I think I have more fingers and toes than hours of sleep I got that week. From fighting couples, to inconsiderate neighbors waking me up at 11pm, 2:30am, 4:45am, 6am (to be brief) obviously on drugs howling about respect and other arbitrary definitions of words they truly dont understand, I was on a first name basis at the front desk I called so much. The staff however was respectful, professional and did everything they could to make up for their unfortunate patrons. I was really impressed by their willingness to make things right. If only they had the authority to actually throw these folks out in the street where they belonged, I think I would have actually been worth a damn at work, which was the reason I was there to begin with. I spoke with other work mates who stay there at different periods of time before me and they all had the same thing to say. I think it might have been the area and therefore the quality of people that this location attracted, but that doesnt give me the hours of sleep lost. Consider the Holiday Inn in Hauppauge just up the road. I will definitely not be returning. The only reason I put two stars is because the staff willingness to make right a bad situation, not the experience at the hotel as a whole.
The hotel is under renovation and my room is literally next door to a room that they are using a jackhammer on. The hotel is totally booked and there is no manager on duty to even address the issue. They were too greedy to close rooms and leave guests some distance from the renovation. Avoid staying here!
Not more then 3 stars... Needs renovation, air conditioning is loud, u have to close it at night, room size is average, no ceiling light in the room..if you want to light the room you need to open 4-5 side lights and its still a bit dark. And most annoying- the free wifi is really bad !! Gets disconnected and very low speed..download your Netflix movies at home, otherwise you wont be able to see them here, even music cant be used through the free wifi..
I was here yesterday late afternoon for a brief meeting before New Years Eve festivities. The lobby as you enter is warm and inviting on this rainy, windy day. There are seating arrangements in this expansive space facing the front desk. As you sit, you sink into one of the oh so comfortable couches (sofas if you will). I did so with a complimentary cup of coffee in my hand. There is a little setup with coffee urns there at the edge of this living room/chilling out space. The cold and rain beyond the lobby doors infuses one with a chill to the very bone. It makes your body beg for a hot beverage in this tranquil, warm space. The lobby beckons you to come in, check in, and then wait for your loved one to arrive.I was thinking are there going to be revelers in the streets tonight?. It seemed unfathomable. Who cares? You or I are not going there; no reasonable, mature adult would. Let Ryan Seacrest sing to the tempo of the wind and the rain and screaming young ladies who have not a care for their own wellbeing. He can afford to treat the possible pneumonia attack. And sing he did and the ladies screamed. I listened to the muted sounds of silence beyond the flatscreen speakers. I am in a most inviting oasis and not going anywhere.Alas, we need to eat in a bit and the front desk informed me there is a diner through this walkway at the western edge of the parking lot/alleyway bordering the edge of the hotel itself. It is on Commack Road just a couple minutes walking distance. You could drive, but it would take you longer to warm up the car and defrost your windshield in this weather. The diner is the closest of your restaurant choices. My thought though is pure wisdom: have something delivered from one of those establishments. Yes! There is not a dining establishment waiting for hotel guests inside Hampton Inn. This is not the Hilton, but it feels like it or perhaps one of the other upscale hotels you might find in Manhattan...except for the lack of a restaurant. We now must fend for ourselves. The choices are: you go out or order in (or go on a fast... due to all your indulgences a week ago on Christmas Day). When arriving at your room, the warmth of the wood desk, standing closet and trim throughout the room (which are stained a dark oak) greets you. The bed says come hither, then screams luxury...okay whispers comfort. People may be sleeping next door.Plans are changed. The heck with the insanity in the city. The large flat screen TV in the room will bring Times Square to us. Let the tourists (who make up the bulk of the massive party-in-the-streets) watch the dropping of the ball in seven hours. The two ladies at the front desk cheerfully provide all the information I need for food choices in order to gastronomically survive this evening. Ordering in is the order of the day. Night. This establishment to me is a good value and is conveniently located at the Long Island Expressway which leads you to Riverhead or Manhattan. The Long Island Railroad has stations nearby at Brentwood to the south or Smithtown to the north. The Hampton Inn is ideal for business lodging or a honeymoon stay. I would prefer the Bahamas, but if it must be Commack, this is the best choice.
Hotel is under renovation. I get it. But they are not separating the renovation area from the paying customer rooms. Our room was at the end of the hall farthest from the elevator. We walked past several rooms under renovation with construction dirt and dust all over the hallway carpets on the way to our room. Why not close off the floor until renovation is done or at least close off the wing.To make things worse, our room was a smoking room and since there were no other rooms available, we had no choice but to stay in the room. Had no idea hotels in NY still have smoking rooms.
Noise from highway, limited breakfast, no fresh air possibility = windows do not open, cleaning could be better. Only booked there as rest of family was there for a funeral but moved to Homewood Suites Melville, 11 mins away, 2 bedroom suite with 3 adults for less than 2 rooms at Hampton, much better breakfast (regardless of construction work ongoing at that time), much more space, cleaner, quieter, friendly staff which remembered earlier visits...
Friendly Professional staff, clean rooms, close to LIE, great facilities, used business center, pool and outside sitting areas, next door to best diner on long island, great breakfast included with room, free shuttle to surrounding area. My favorite place to stay when working on Long Island, all of our out of town employee s stay here and just lovebit
I’m a Hilton honors member which gets you free waters as a perk, and i asked the front desk for a couple bottles and she looked at me like i was asking for a couple free nights stay.. i travel for work and I’ve stayed at over 20+ Hilton’s around the country and all have always just given me the water. I mean it’s just water.. her response was well you can pay for it. Just made it more difficult which it shouldn’t be.. it’s water....
Horrible experience very rude, upon parking and less than 5 minutes, I was greeted with someone that knocked on my window and threatened to have me removed if I was not staying at the hotel. It just got worst from there. Not what I expect at all from a Hilton property.
Id give it half a star if I could. Rick at the front desk is a theif. You gotta watch him. He tried to slide one over me. He tells me I cant get a room with out a credit card. Then wont accept a company fleet card. Then accepts company credit card via fax. Total for 1 night came out to $166.32. He tells me he needs $200 cash. I ask what the extra is for, he say for the room, just in case.... hmm! I asked if I would get a receipt for the 200 pd. Oh yeah he says. I withdraw $200 from ATM from Gas Station across the lot, come back and deal with Tony this time. Tony charges me $166.32. Lesson learned, deal with Tony! Only other complaint is beds are stiff as a board.

2022-04-27The hotel was fine and in a good location. I wish that they had a better selection of breakfast items, but it was free so you cant be too choosy. We checked in very late (after 10pm) and the staff were very gratious.

2022-04-14Positive: Location, close to family Negative: Ants in room. Musty smelling sheets. We have been staying several times a year. The hotel is aging and deteriorating. Just doesnt meet our expectations. Cost is becoming a factor too.

2021-11-25The free breakfast was good. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was great. The bathroom fixtures / features could use some updates... the water pressure in the shower was fine. I like the shower glass doors. The hotel is right next to a busy freeway, close to a Starbucks and a Walmart. Not a good view of the long Island

2021-12-29We have cancelled both of our honors membership and will find other accommodations the next time we travel because of the incredulous charges on my credit card from this location. Someone by the name of Holy fraudulently charged me for a no show reservation I never made after cancelling a previous booking. Be very aware of how Hilton Honors works and avoid this location. This is very bad business and we have reported it to both our banking institutions.

2021-10-20The hotel common areas and rooms were clean and spotless. The staff was attentive and polite. The hot breakfast was a pleasant surprise (so many hotels advertise this but then you get there and theyve been suspended for months - update your websites!). Similar to another reviewer, I was attending a local funeral and also inadvertently booked the wrong day. I spoke with Mary Ann (the manager?) who was empathetic and understanding and she sweetly made the necessary adjustments. Thank you!

2021-08-27I planned this trip for 10 months for a group of women from my church. I worked extensively with Maryann Gounaris. She was so lovely and accommodating. The entire staff at the front desk is so nice! They couldnt have been friendlier. They go out of their way to help you. Ive never experience such wonderful customer service. The hotel and rooms were exceptionally clean. When one of my group members informed me at check-in that she was afraid of heights, the staff promptly provided us a room on a first floor. The hotel was full of guests, but it was so quiet. The breakfast was delicious. The bed was fantastic. Great hot shower and it was walk-in too. I cried when we had to abruptly end our trip and leave early due to a hurricane. The staff watched the hurricane news reports and gave us updates. This is one of my best stays at a Hilton hotel.

2021-12-07Rooms are clean. Nice size. I never understand why hotels never use fabric softener. As such towels and bath clothes are clean but could scratch the skin off your body. Television is limited and they use satellite. Just so happens I was there on a bad weather night which resulted in the system going in and out. My biggest issue was the Wi-Fi. It is terrible. Most of the time I had to use my phone plan hot spot which totally blew up my data plan.

2021-11-14Overall really happy with the location, its a very easy on/off the highway. wasnt there long enough to use the complimentary breakfast but would have if i had time. i wish every Hampton made it a point to put mouthwash in every room. its hit or miss if they do this. but god forbid a coffee maker not be in the room. i would rather have mouthwash. better for your teeth too.

2021-10-25Stayed one night here and the experience was great. The room was nice and clean, front desk staff was friendly. I like they offer toothbrush toothpaste or comb for guests if they forget to bring.

2022-01-18Positive: Coffee available at all times! Negative: The key cards never worked. Had to ask the front desk many times for help getting into the room.
