I really enjoyed all the decorative and functional design choices at this relatively new Hampton Inn. This lakefront hotel is set against the shore of Keuka Lake within walking distance of Downtown Penn Yan and the Keuka Outlet trail. The hotel is entirely designed to highlight the simple beauty of the Finger Lakes. The art throughout the hotel are photographs of the gentle hills, farm land, and lake views of the area. Even the door numbers are offset by local photos.Functionally, the Hampton Inn has two simple design choices I found countered my main hotel issues. First, I get really frustrated with small vanities and no storage in hotel bathrooms... This bathroom is designed with a double vanity with two cubbies under the single sink, so you can put away all your bathroom items or leave them out; theres enough room. Personally, I thought it was genius. Second concern is the nagging fear of leaving something that got lodged in a back corner of a dark drawer. The Penn Yan Hampton Inns drawers and cabinets are lined in white, and the drawers are metal grating, so you can see every inch of that space easily. As always, Hampton customer service is the best, as are the beds. All said, I seriously recommend.
This Hampton was one of the best I have stayed in. I was very impressed from the level of Customer focus and service that we received from the minute we stepped in the door. We arrived on a rainy Sunday night and was kindly greeted by Judy at the front desk. Judy was incredible and was able to upgrade us to a lake view room. She took great care to make sure that my wife and I felt comfortable and relaxed after coming in out of the storm outside. During our stay the staff made it a point to welcome us as we entered the hotel or wished as well as we departed on one of our adventures around Keuka lake. I also wanted to specifically mention the woman that coordinates the breakfast as she does such a great job. The extra effort that she puts in, creates an excellent experience for guests of this hotel. She is also very kind and accommodating. This hotel was also very clean and the rooms looked recently updated. Overall a very good experience and I would recommend this hotel.
Food was good. Very limited menu. Set up in a large event room. No ambiance. Staff was quite busy, so we werent receiving adequate attention. At the end our server brought our bill and then preceded to leave and go help clean up another group of tables. I dont like having to ask for them to take my payment. Ill give them 1 more chance to show major improvement before I decide to eat there in the future.
This Hampton Inn is beautiful and it is at an ideal location, right on the bank of Keuka Lake. We had a very pleasant stay. All of the staff members where very helpful and polite. There is a small bar and restaurant on site. This was a nice surprise! The hotel was very clean. The pool and the hot tub were nice. The best part of our stay was enjoying the outdoor patio each night. It is a lovely place to sit and relax after a day of touring the area wineries. There was a free breakfast each morning. We felt that the breakfast was poorly attended for such a nice hotel. Other than that, the place was perfect!
Chris and the rest of the Hampton Inn team went above and beyond to take care of my family and our extended family during our stay. They got to know our family and took care of all our needs. Everything was convenient and easy. We really cannot say enough about the customer service presented by this hotel team. Our dinner at the hotel was probably the best we had the entire duration of our stay as well. A huge thanks to this incredible team for making our stay the best it could be!
Stayed for thirteen days while visiting daughter who lives in the area and was having a baby. The facility is modern, clean, well maintained, and has beautiful grounds. It is a unique combination of the traditional Hampton Inn building and prices at a resort location with a great view of the lake. Although full and having an active nightlife on the weekend, noise was not an issue in the room. All staff members were extremely cordial, friendly, enthusiastic, and professional. Lack of daily room cleanings due to COVID precautions was managed well with replacement of room supplies on demand. The room was immaculate on arrival and all public facilities inside and out were constantly being cleaned. Extremely pleased with this hotel and staff and will eagerly stay here again.
We are loyal Hilton members. This hotel was up to their standards. The room was clean and the view of the lake was outstanding. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was ample considering the current climate. I liked seeing the sanitizer throughout the hotel. It is close to many restaurants and stores. Great experience.
Where am I right now? Is this really a Hampton Inn? I mean. I enjoy me a Hilton hotel but this is over the top awesome, exceeding any expectation. Restaurant is AMAZING — food is fresh and oh so delicious. Room is great. Judy at the front desk is lovely! Had me laughing. Nicole at the bar is very efficient. The manager Donna is out helping everyone and chatting with guests. Appreciating the heck out of this place. Great work.
Judy at check-in was great, very helpful and super friendly. The room has an amazing view and is really clean (unlike many hotels during pandemic). Upon Judys recommendation we tried the hotels restaurant (cant say that I know of many hampton inns with a restaurant) (and yes I have visited many, holding Diamond status for 10+ years) - restaurant is a hidden gem? Or maybe everybody knows about this place? Its amazing - pasta is made on-site and delicious, salmon was fantastic. I really enjoyed this stay - surprised at how people would rate this spot low based on a breakfast (not why I would choose a hotel) I definitely recommend this place dinner though.
Positive: The general manager was excellent and personable. He is great at his job. His staff is just as great. Will definitely stay there again. We dined twice in the Kauka Breeze and Nicole was incredible. For a new employee she was spot on. Negative: The hard boiled eggs in the bag ¿¿
Had a lovely experience in May 2021 at the Hampton Inn Penn Yan. It was definitely the most affordable lake-front option that I found in the Finger Lakes region. We stayed 4 nights, and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. Clean, comfortable, convenient room. Caring staff. I highly recommend.
Got the worst room for the most overpriced rate. Can you believe we paid over $200 a night for this room? Customer service at the front desk was bad and not helpful. Water did not drain at the sink, so we had to brush over the tub. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
The room was good. Kind of noisy. Staff was good. Management was terrible. Our 2 night stay with breakfast included was a disappointment. No plates and was eating out of paper bowls. That is a management miss. They could have went to a local store and bought 10 dollars worth of paper plates.
The hotel is clean and the beautiful lake is in your backyard. However, the check-in left a lot to be desired. Room wasnt ready and the woman wouldnt put me in a room that was already cleaned. A bit unprofessional and unaccommodating. She didnt even know how to spell business when she asked if we were here for business or pleasure. Breakfast was very minimal. No plates or bagels for 2 days now due to a truck delivery delay. We had to use a small bowl for everything. Had to ask the desk staff to get someone to refill the milk and orange juice containers. The girl was in their office chatting and not paying attention. In summary, no matter how beautiful the hotel is, if the staff is incompetent, your stay will not be as pleasant.
Beautiful view lake side!!! Good sized rooms, friendly staff, great breakfast bar.I’m giving a 4 star because of a couple different reasons1.we felt the rooms definitely could have been a little cleaner2.beds are pretty firm3.cold coffee the second morning of our stay
Amazing gem of a hotel in Penn Yan. Sits on the lake, has a bar, restaurant and a patio and balcony to enjoy the lake view. Lovely, lovely place. they recently renovated and there are so many lovely little touches (e.g. the pictures next to each room number are different, plenty of outlets and charging station, beautiful small bar and lovely looking conference room). Out side patio as a firepit so get their early as seats fill up. Definitely a gem and would go back anytime!
Do not book this hotel through PRICELINE. I am a returning Priceline VIP customer. When I previously booked this Hampton Inn at Penn Yan room, I spent about $207 per night (no specification on a view). After tax and fees, I spent about $492 for two nights in this hotel. However, a city view room runs about $156 per night and a lake view room runs about $175 per night TODAY. When I walked into my hotel today around 3:30PM, I got the darkest room right above the black roof entrance and the flag. When I saw the price disparity, I was upset and asked for a room change to the front desk. The front desk told me that I booked this hotel through a third party system, Priceline, and only an upcharge of $25 per night will take us to the other room. When I called the Priceline customer service representative for help, I got the same answer as the front desk. Nothing was done for us to provide any better service. I overpaid for a hotel room with more than $100 for the worst room possible. As a Priceline VIP customer, I feel like this should have been handled much better, and I would not be returning to Priceline after this horrible experience. Likely, I wished that the manager of this hotel could have given us better customer service and at least tried to accommodate our needs ; very disappointing.
One of the most beautiful Hamptons we have ever stayed at. Gorgeous views of the lake etc. However.1st morning went down for breakfast and was told no hot breakfast. Breakfast person was off that day. Asked where the milk was, they were out of milk.2nd morning went down for coffee and noticed a dirty table with no one sitting there. Went down a hour later for breakfast and same table still dirty. Needed to find the breakfast person (she was chatting with front desk person) as the milk container was empty. Also needed to ask for coffee to be refilled.3rd morning hot breakfast (same omelets and sausages as yesterday) was again available. Again milk was out. Found breakfast person at front desk again. Became apparent that she chatted more than did her job. Bread ran out and was told by her that they had no more, it was frozen. Really? You opened the breakfast 3 hours ago and didnt unfreeze the bread? In three mornings never once saw anyone wipe down a table. Worst management of Hampton breakfast service ever.
Terrible front staff as we checked in. We had booked months ago, extended family and they changed our room. Late checkin as room not available and instead of lake front we get a view of the roof. Staff terribly disrespectful as we have been Hilton Honors members for 20+ years
Very clean Hotel, Pleasant staff, nice views. Only one complaint they have only one fire pit out in the back and the nights we were there the same 4 people seem to take up all the space around the fire pit each night. Plenty of room out there for two or three fire pits to accommodate more than four guests considering the size of the hotel.
Wonderful stay at Hampton Inn Penn Yan! Amazing location, so peaceful with beautiful lake views and strolls. The food at Breezers onsite restaurant was delicious. Facilities and rooms very clean, stuff very friendly. Great location to explore Finger Lakes area, parks and waterfalls!
The theme of our stay was the truck hasnt come or it wasnt on the truck.Location and our room facing the Lake were great.Bottled water at checkin. Sorry, the truck wont be here until Tuesday.Items on the menu and at the bar in the in house restaurant Sorry, the truck wont be here until Tuesday. Muffins at breakfast, pastrie at breakfast, plates, plastic juice cups, milk, fruit, cane sugar, even butter, sorry the truck will be here Tuesday or sorry, it wasnt on the truck.Even replenishing items they did have at breakfast fell short.Everyone made do with what was there, but, in a Hilton property, making do is not what you should have to do.We were unable to access internet while there and after three trips to the front desk they were unable to help. Apparently they had a new internet provider and the instructions they handed out were for the previous carrier. Again, not acceptable.Friendly people. Yes. But smiling apologizes for constant shortcomings doesnt cut it.
While the hotel was nice enough and clean with a good location, as a Hilton honors Diamond member we are eligible for room upgrades and when we asked for an upgrade we were told there was no availability. We witnessed several rooms which had a view of the lake which were not being used which was evident due to the clean room tape still being secured to the door. I was very disappointed by this.
Amazing location!!! Cant beat the view and AWESOME STAFF..lobe my 4 night stay during 4tb of July ...it was a great stay with great view n services..they took extra care to make sure they sanitize n wipe every single corner of the hotel .. Managers were absolute pleasure to chat with .. Pool was checked many times for cleanliness..Judy was so sweet to talk to .. Loved their hospitality ..will definitely visit them during Christmas heard they have good activities for kids..
Just had a wonderful stay at the Hampton Inn Penn Yan. Our room was very nice with a lakeside room and a patio. We enjoyed the pool and the hot tub after a day of hiking in the forests in the area. The rooms are very clean. Great staff. Great amenities. Nice breakfast area with a good selection. A very nice place to stay. We will be back.
I like everything there . Best facility and location in the Finger Lakes! Great view, service.Extreme relaxation and comfort. Maximum peace and quiet .Staff are so welcoming and helpful . The hospitality provided from the employees of this hotel is out of the world. Each & every employees has a consistent service and theyre extremely attentive towards every little aspect. Worth every cent and Id recommend you to try out yourself. I feel happy and relaxed during my stay. Nothing bother me at all. I will be back again.
My experience of the Hampton Inn Penn Yan was awesome. The room was exceptionally clean, the bathrooms were stock and spotless. With Covid going on the hot tub and pool was still open. Breakfast is a grab and go( get your food and head to your room). Bagels, muffins, cereal, fruits, juice, danish, yogurt, toppings and coffee. The front counter has the basic stuff to eat. Chips, candy, small microwave meals, beer and other beverages. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room views are beautiful. This morning I wake up to find dozens of people out on the ice. Ice fishing, playing, relaxing. It was really neat to see! I definitely would give them a 5 star. I would love to see this area post Covid!
Really beautiful hotel, modern & clean, beautiful location right on Keuka lake. Both Chris & Judy at the front desk were wonderful. I had a lakeside king bed room (#225) & I loved the view. Room price was good ($109/night in the off season). The free breakfast was great, & the pool & hot tub were very welcoming & relaxing (& also very clean & well kept). The Top of the lake restaurant was literally right next door by about 100 ft, & they boast amazing food & views, also. Will definitely be back!!
My wife and I booked our NY vacation after we realized that travelling by plane wasnt in the cards this year. We booked the best room in the hotel for our 1 week stay 2 months before our check in date. A lake view room with a patio. The room rate was nearly $300 per night. When we arrived in our room we eagerly opened the door to see the lake view. I was horrified. There was no lake view, just a view of huge piles of dirt created by the hotels construction of a new catering facility. Besides not having a view our patio was inundated with the loud noise of the air conditioning compressor and fans for the indoor pool. So my question is... If the hotel knew (and the manager readily admitted that she she did.) that this room no longer had a lake view, why would they sell it as one and charge the most expensive rate for it? I would have been better off with a parking lot view. So anyway, after complaining the manager admitted that the hotel was in the wrong and she comped our first night and agreed to move us the next day to a third floor room with a lake view. This move resulted in my wife and I having to climb the stairs during our vacation, because we specifically chose this room because it would allow us to enter and exit the room without passing through the lobby and use elevators. So, a little more exercise. No biggie. As far as cleanliness is concerned, the hotel fails miserably. I saw no signs of hydro-static spraying like Hilton advertised on their website. My wife and I knew that the maids would not enter the room after check-in and that we would be leaving our dirty towels outside to be replaced daily. Unfortunately, the maids did enter our room to deliver the soap amenities that my wife requested, while we were out. As far as the towels are concerned... Does anyone think that it hygienic to leave wet dirty towels on the carpet in the hallway all day? Think about where those towels have been! Or the bags of garbage from the room for that matter. The hallway looked like a dump when we returned at 3 pm on Tuesday. Maybe the hotel should provide $2 plastic hampers for each room. When we contacted the hotel about the fact that we had no regular coffee in the room only decaf., we were told that they were out of regular coffee. A professional in the hospitality industry might have come up with a way of providing a regular cup of coffee to their guests, considering that they do have a restaurant, but not at this Hampton Inn. Finally, the patio with a lake view and a fire pit sounds nice, right. Well the patio has about a dozen chairs and you need to beg steal and borrow to get one in the afternoon. Need some shade from the July sun? Dont expect to find an umbrella at one of the tables because their are none. Want to sit by the fire pit at night? Well you had better have your family members camp out there by 5 pm. The whole time I was at this property one family controlled the fire pit from 5-10 pm. You cant share a fire pit in the Covid-19 environment. Finally, the restaurant manager who is also the construction manager/landscaper and geese remover, decides that a good time to mow the lawn by the patio would be at 5-6 pm, which is exactly when most guests are looking to sit on the patio after a days events. I understand that this gentleman is working his tail off, trying to do the best job that he can, but the timing of the lawn mowing is akin to bleaching the restaurant floor during dinner service. A true professional in the hospitality industry would understand the mistake in this plan. So, we had to cut our Finger Lakes vacation short and check out the next morning. The only saving grace for this property was the young man named Randy who works at the front desk. He professionally managed the hotels hospitality issues and tried to communicate them to the managers which were almost never present. In the future we will find a better managed, and cleaner property to stay at in FLX.
Place was very clean, requires a mask when moving about the facility, has a bar on site, and gorgeous views. I miss the morning hot breakfast due to Covid but one does still get a to go bag with water, muffin, and breakfast bar. You have to make your own coffee in your room. There is no daily maid service so one has to request fresh towels.
Hotel was nice, beautiful view of the lake. They had a bar with a small food menu, named Breezes (I think). The food was good. The GM (I know she was the GM because she mentioned it several times) was working that night and seemed very lost. They were out of things at the bar to make drinks off their own drink menu. It took her almost 20 mins to get our drinks. The GM seemed as if she had not worked with customers before or with the POS system. The assitant manager he was excellent and seemed to have to correct everything the GM did wrong, from ringing people out wrong or making drinks, greeting customers. The food and drinks were great and I would recommend breezes if you are staying at the hotel, just hope the GM is not there.
My wife and I came to the region to celebrate our anniversary and decided to stay at this location. We could not be more happy with our decision. The view of the lake (frozen and complete with ice fishing and children enjoying the winter wonderland) was stunning. The amenities were very plentiful and lovely. Of most importance, the staff was fantastic from the time we walked through the front door.
By far one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. The facility was clean and customer service was great. They catered to every need I had and went above and beyond. Check in/out was painless. Beds very comfortable. Breakfast was great with many options. I loved the 24 hour coffee/tea station. Coffee was always hot. I felt very relaxed during my stay and would recommend to anyone visiting the area.
Great hotel for the traveler or family; not so much for the business traveler. Room service was often late in the day, even after I had finished a long day of working. Having to wait around to have the room serviced was not enjoyable. Also, the room service always seemed to miss one thing or another, such as no towel to place on the floor. The breakfast was not up to the standards of Hampton Inns--or they are going downhill. The front desk staff, however, was always very helpful. I could go on, but in the end, I felt that they are trying their best, but it isnt quite good enough to compare to the service I received at their competition down the street. Ill stay there from now on.
Great location and fantastic views of Keuka lake. Staff was friendly, runs were clean. Suite bathroom is very small and cramped, not very much space. Included Breakfast seemed lacking. No meat option available. Other hotels in town offer much more with bfst for less per night. Youre paying a bit extra for being on the lake, but over all its nice
The hotel was in a nice location and the room was clean, comfortable and very Hampton standard. I enjoyed the views of the lake and the amenities that this hotel offer. The thing that really made me take away stars was the staff. I felt like I was honestly a burden to them. When I walk through the lobby they do not even look up from their desk let alone say hello. I asked about breakfast and having plates, utensils, etc. to have in order to eat in my room since the COVID restrictions do not allow people to sit in the breakfast area, and I got a bag of utensils thrust at my face and no response when I asked for a plate several times. I dont think theres anything the hotel can actually do to help my situation because I didnt feel at home here and the general snobby demeanor of everyone who worked there most likely cannot be helped. Sorry to the staff if the COVID world has been stressful, but Ive been traveling for work for months during this pandemic, staying at other Hampton Inns and have received the common courtesy of a hello, how are you today? from the staff at others. I dont know if Ill stay here again for the work assignment Im on, at least not during COVID.The last item I have is that upon check in, they hand you a FULL PAGE of rules for what you can and cannot do in the hotel; the last line says that you will be thrown out if you do not follow them. Please, lets not be so dramatic and phrase that a little better. Nothing is more off putting to me when this hotel will be my home for the next week+ than being patronized and treated like a child. Just a suggestion.
Beautiful view. We stayed during the construction phase of the building attached to it, and were not disturbed by it at all. However, I opted to stay here for my 2 night stay because of the breakfast thats offered at all Hampton Inns. Unfortunately, during these strange times, they only offered a take-away bag breakfast without coffee. So I ended up needing to go to the nearby Dunkin for breakfast any way. While I love the Hampton Inn reputation, I would have stayed at the Belhurst Castle, had I known in advance that breakfast wasnt going to be available.
Hotel was very clean. Front desk staff was helpful most of the time but they did not allow you to sit within the breakfast area. Said it was corporate policy but I have stayed at Hampton Inns during the pandemic in counties throughout NYS with greater infection rates and sitting safely distanced was allowed. The hotel restaurant, Keuka Breeze, was actually pretty great for a hotel eatery. The lobster rolls was great and it came with a side of cheddar cheese bites with a great creamy jalapeño sauce. Wait staff was super friendly and abided by all safety precautions. I would give the restaurant a 5 star review but Keuka Breeze is not on the map yet, I assume it’s fairly new.
Great place to stay with a fantastic view of the lake. The breakfast in the morning is very nice, with a selection that should suit most tastes. I didnt get a chance to see the pool but you can find a place to wade into the lake as an alternative. My favorite amenity is coffee being available throughout the day.
When we arrived our reserved room was not available due to a mix up when the reservation was made. It was substituted to a less expensive room but without the private patio which we wanted during this pandemic time due to our age and health. We were assured we would have plenty of room to socially distance. When we later went to the larger patio/lawn area all seating was taken. Our charges reflected the more expensive room and as of ten days later we have not been credited for over-payment. In addition, as we were leaving we spoke with a couple who arrived 15 minutes before us and were very pleased with the private patio king bed accommodations that was available and when the arrived. That was the description of our reserved room! All phone calls of inquiry have been met with very inadequate response and defensive attitudes. If you book online it is done thru Priceline but there is no indication it is not the Hampton Inn itself. However, when any issues arepresented they just brush aside saying since it was thru Priceline, it is not their concern. VERY disappointing stay.
My husband and I stayed here three nights during our honeymoon. The room was perfect for us and had a beautiful view. We chose this room for the patio so we could go outside easily, as were smokers. Unfortunately, we put the hard lock on the inside door to the hallway and used only the patio door, which only worked intermittently and we got locked out of our room. The manager tried to enter and couldnt, so she got her chief engineer, who was also the bartender, to come down and get us in the hallway door. He said theyd have to call a professional to fix the patio door lock, but we could have a free drink for our troubles. We waited at least seven minutes for a seat at the bar, and after another ten or more minutes without being served a drink, we just left. When we first entered our room, the towels and washcloths had long black hairs on them and there was a dead sow bug on the bathroom floor - doesnt scream clean to me, but we dealt with it because we were in our happy place in our heads and refused to get upset during our honeymoon. What really bothered me the most, however, was breakfast. The guy working the breakfast area ... aarrrrg!!! The first morning I went down, he was gossiping to the desk clerk, who appeared busy and not really interested. When he saw me walking toward the breakfast area he asked if he could help me. When I told him I was looking for breakfast he looked toward an area beside the front desk and said that there werent any breakfasts bagged, but he pointed to them so I could bag my own - ok. Next day, I go to the same area; theres a woman there looking, but nothings there; the guy is not in sight. I started to walk away and saw him coming in from outside (he had been smoking). I asked him about breakfast and he said, Isnt there any there? He went to get some, but I just left. I went to McDonalds for our breakfast that day and the next so I wouldnt get upset on my precious trip.I told the desk clerk, Randy, about our experience the morning we checked out. I told him that I didnt think I should pay full price when I wasnt getting the full experience of the hotel: dirty room, broken lock, poor breakfast . . . He totally understood and made me feel like a valued customer. He said hed speak with his manager before checking me out and let me know via email if he could do anything for me. They cut me a price break! Yay, Randy, for valuing the customer and caring about their experience.Everything done and said, the room was undeniably beautiful and were thinking of making it an annual trip.
The back side has a nice lake view. There is a cozy little restaurant/bar next door called Top Of the Lake. There is not a lot of food options, but the staff had some suggestions for a few local places that turned out to be good. I was there for a week in December and it was very quiet. Indoor hot tub and pool. Typical Hampton Inn otherwise.
This Hampton is a beautiful hotel. Its new this year and it is done very nicely. The rooms are comfortable and we paid extra for a beautiful lake view. Why am I giving it only 3 stars...they woke me fairly early in the morning to clean my room and then chastised me for not putting my do not disturb sign out and then did not clean my room. When I told the front desk, they offered me a snack from the candy counter...
Ive stayed at the hotel on 3 occasions in the past 2 months. The staff is friendly and professional, the rooms are well appointed and immaculate. The gym area has all the necessary equipment. There is also a pool and a hot tub. The view of Keuka Lake from.the room was amazing. The stay includes a free breakfast. Everything in Penn Yan is within 5 minutes of the hotel. The combination of the staff, price and amenities make staying here the best choice if you are in the area.
Very clean, beautifully located right on the lake a They have a campfire ring right in front of the lake that they can light for you whenever you want. The continental breakfast was very good my husband loved it. I have a dairy and soy allergy so I wasnt able to each much but the hotel did have a list of the food to indicate what was gluten, dairy, tree nut free. We would definitely stay here again.
Hotel is nice great views of the lake.it just feels like the owners and their plooicies are cheap. I stay in 120 hotels a year for work. I am a Hilton Diamond member 5 years running and I would expect more from such a nice place. However this was the second time I stayed here.
Sitting right on the bank of lake Keuka in a quite location, this is definitely more than just a hotel, capturing some of the best views of the lake. Rooms are absolutely clean and still smells like new, nice gym and swimming pool, excellent breakfast and friendly professional staff. They even have a lounge area and campfire in the back yard to elevate the fun while enjoying the views. If you dont have time to explore all the lakes, you can just stay here.
Clean. New. Modern. Beautiful views of the lake. The hotel was a bit pricey for the area, but we stayed during the prime season and there are few options for brand name hotels in the area. We had a beautiful suite with a lake view. There is also an outdoor 2nd floor lounge/seating with a lake view and a ground floor area, also with a lake view and a fire pit. The hotel is within 15 minutes from the closest winery, and well positioned for a wine tour of the west coast of Seneca Lake. With the exception of the free breakfast, there is no dining onsite. A restaurant, ‘Top of the Lake’ is next door within walking distance, but we didn’t go there.
We stayed here over a year ago and loved our experience. My fiance and I have different sleep schedules, so it makes it hard when I wake up early and he sleeps in to use the TV or get on my laptop without creating light in the room, while he is trying to sleep. The breakfast is great and the space is roomy and open. Its also walking distance into Penn Yan, if you have time and dont mind the exercise.
Nice new hotel in Penn Yan. Near restaurants and facing Keuka Lake. Wonderful views of the lake and can sit at the fire pit in the evening enjoying the views. Clean modern rooms. Very comfortable. Nice breakfast included. Good business center. Very close to the vinery trail around Keuka lake. We visited a number of them. Would stay here again.
Beautiful new hotel with great amenities on an enviable location: right on Lake Keuka. The staff: Tori and Jess at the front desk welcomed and doted on us, Cathy the cook fed us like family---hands down the best complimentary hot breakfast spread ANYWHERE, and Amy our housekeeper kept our room squeaky clean! Will definitely be back!!
I dont like this giant brick on Keuka Lake. The best western in town at least tries to fit in with the local theme but this place, I like to describe it as a brick in the middle of a field of pillows. Also most rooms arent facing east or west so there isnt always the best view of the amazing sunrises and sunsets unless you go outside and get chewed up by mosquitos. A lot of bug spray helps with that though. Unfortunately there is no anti-ugly hotel spray...
This is my second stay at this great hotel. The staff remembered even what model car I drove from my short stay a month ago! The view is amazing and the beds are always comfortable :) I will continue to return here when Im in the area because of the amazing staff, and great location!
Location of this hotel was beautiful - right on Keuka Lake in quaint Penn Yan. The fire pit was amazing to sit around at night and enjoy a glass of wine with my girlfriends. What really sets this hotel apart is the amazing staff. From my first call to them to the personalized, dedicated service, everyone at this hotel is a 5-star example of what hospitality is. Linda and Michelle at the front desk went above and beyond to save my coworker and I by securing us a ride to the airport when the taxi company was closed. What absolutely incredible women. Not only excellent examples of hotel staff, but stellar examples of human beings. Thank you.
Hotels location, rooms, and front desk staff was a great experience great during our stay. Complementary breakfast was good. Only negative thing is the complementary wifi. It is barely usable and I had to try to rely on it because sprint cell service is even worse than the wifi here.
Great location right on the lake with public patios and balconies available for guests to enjoy gorgeous sunrises with a drink from the complimentary 24/7 coffee bar or with a plate from the complimentary hot breakfast. The public balcony downstairs features a gas lit fire pit to sit around with a glass of wine from one of the many local wineries and watch the sun set - a fabulous end to any evening. The site is within walking distance to a public park and boating/kayak rental spot - youll never run out of things to do! If its a bit too cold to enjoy nearby water based fun, take a dip in the indoor, heated pool or hot tub instead! But first, be sure to get your daily work out in at the gym equipped with treadmills, ellipticals, benches, and a variety of free weights. Odd numbered rooms are facing the lake, with the property boasting 5 rooms on the first floor (this is split level) complete with their own private patios. There is complimentary Wi-Fi for all guests with the option to upgrade to the premium connection. (Premium Wi-Fi is complimentary for Diamond Honors members - if you arent already enrolled in Hiltons Honors program, be sure to communicate that with the front desk agent, enabling you to reap all the benefits of Hiltons wonderful chains! Upon sign up, you are able to receive points retroactively for previous Hilton stays going back a few months!) You wont find any vending machines here, so be sure to stop by the treat shop next to the front desk on the lobby level (2) or stock up at local stores along the way - multiple dollar stores within walking distance. There are several local (not chain) restaurants nearby, including one next door. Make sure you check out the Silverbird and the Penn Yan Diner during your stay! Ask the front desk attendants for literature on area events and attractions and be sure not to leave before you ask them to snap a photo of you on the balcony in front of the setting sun :)
Horrible customer services! We are members of Hilton Honors and have called the customer service to resolve an issue with our reservation at Hampton In at Penn Yann NY and they told us that they were submitting a request for refund of our money thru Hilton Honors. Then, a few weeks later we called back to follow up on our request status and no request had been sent by the customer service. They told us at this time to call Hampton In in Penn Yann to resolve our issue. We called several times to Hampton In and every time I was either transfer to a housekeeping manager or to a voice mail. No one ever called us back. No email or phone call from Hampton or Hilton with an update of our request. My husband is an IBM and Government employee and ever opportunity he had Hilton was his first choice. Horrible Horrible experience! We dont ever want to deal with Hilton or Hampton again.
I only want to say that Keuka College is NOT within walking distance as stated on their website. Its 5 miles around the lake and across the top towards the bluff. The restaurants in walking distance is ONE restaurant, Top of the Lake. If you need a hardware store, auto parts, car wash, or boat marina, they are within walking distance.
You have a 50% chance of getting a room facing a depressing lumbar yard. I took the time to call ahead and paid up for a lakeside room and they put us in one of those. So. There is no guarantee of a beautiful lakeside room regardless of pay or communication. Unless they like your face maybe?

2022-06-12Great location. We had a room with a king bed and door to the outside patio. Bed was great for us as we have back issues and appreciate a firm mattress. Breakfast was fine…it’s a free breakfast and the staff were very friendly. The location is near several wineries and only 20 minutes away from Seneca lake. The bar was a nice amenity and the food was good.

2022-05-16I booked 2 King rooms in FEBRUARY, and when I checked in, I was told the hotel overbooked and now I get 2 queen beds. Beds were hard as rocks. Hair all over the shower walls. Breakfast left a lot to be desired. Coffee was good at least. The only bonus to this hotel is the outdoor space right on the lake. Its beautiful.

2022-02-21Good experience and reasonable pricing, especially for a last minute accommodation. Walls were a bit thin to hear our neighbors, but the view over the water was great and the bed was very comfortable. Well definitely be checking availability when back in the area. Perfect location to explore nearby wineries.

2022-04-13Hotel is a bit dated but it has a nice location on the lake and such I highly recommend requesting rooms on that side. The opposite side is not that great as youre overlooking parking lot and warehouse. Everyone is welcoming and pleasant which made our stay hassle free.

2022-03-10Initially, I wasnt sure, but overall, it was a very nice stay. We just wanted to thank you for Donna for being kind and caring, for making our stay pleasant. One of the finest experiences among all Hampton Inn we have stayed over the years.
