Hamza & Madina Halal Food in other cities:
Food is really good, best halal food Ive tried all my life, it would be a five star if it wasnt that lately food is not consistent with their quality. Before food was good no matter the time of day you went but lately during the night lamb has a different taste and sometimes is overcooked.
Lamb was amazing. I got the chicken, and I had them put hot sauce on it but they put on a bit too much. My fault, I should have asked for them to back off. The hot sauce is tasty, but can be overpowering in the same way that the blazing sauce from Buffalo wild wings can be overpowering. I can tolerate spicy food, but after a certain point it gets to a point where all you taste is sauce and its not a pleasant experience.I didnt knock off and you stars for this, but you know, just be warned
We eat here a lot because we work late... always the same two older guys cooking never had an issue. Tonight there was a very young man (boy) cooking and all three of us got food poisoning or salmonella poisoning of some kind. Violent vomiting and extreme stomach cramps. 100% sure it was from cross contaminated salad. The one person in our group who didn’t get the salad was spared the wrath. Just means the kid prepped raw chicken or meat on the same surface as the salad and didn’t properly sanitize or clean between. Thank god we were busy at work and we’re all unable clean our plates or I would most likely be writing this review from the EMERGENCY ROOM. I only had 6 bites (two of salad) and it all came back up in record time. All of us who had the salad became ill. I can’t imagine how severe it would have been if we had eaten more. Needless to say all the leftovers have been trashed. I hope the owners read this and NEVER EVER LET A CHILD COOK IN THEIR ESTABLISHMENT WITHOUT A SUFFOLK CLUNTY FOOD MANAGERS COURSE CERTIFICATE ever again (required to cook and prepare food in Suffolk county). I don’t think this kid was even old enough to legally take the test. He was working and cooking with zero supervision. It shows. ALL BE WARNED!! Do NOT eat here if the kid is cooking unless you wish to spend the rest of your night making sweet love to the porcelain throne. I will not be eating here for quite some time after my harrowing ordeal.... might consider it down the road as long as the adult male or the older gentleman is behind the counter... but then again why risk it.
🙄What a service station.🙏 Service so good the gas is running out gas.🤫🤐👂Watch out the Halal Food is off the grid ever heard that your be lucky to find a place this nice. Inside this Service Station is some food that will knock your socks off and blow your mind🤯. Good friendly customer service. Its truly a blessing 🙌.🤞 you like Halal your travel back here at this location you might even save it on your Google Maps now I know Manhattan has some good Halal.Hamza made me LOL just thinking 🤔 I would ever buy any more Halal Food out there why when I have a 💯 sure facts best I had in NEW YORK hands down just the way I ordered just the way I throught about my food arrived.
If you buy your meal from the gas station you need to reevaluate life choicesThe little brown guy who sells the halal is rude and spiteful. He said I was late and when I asked him what that was suppose to mean he literally walked away mid conversation. I will avoid this stinky disgusting place now
Tried this place after seeing it online. Never had halal from a gas station location, and honestly never thought I would. But, I was craving a gyro and decided to take a chance. Very happy i did. Food was made right in front of me, and it was delicious. I will be coming back often. Very adorable and they are open all night. I went around midnight on a weekday and it was busy... So this tells you this place is popular. Highly recommend. I cant wait to go again!
Dont let this place fool you. When I saw that it was in a gas station I was a little put off. But Hamza & Marina has a great reputation. I had the chicken and lamb with salad. It was a huge portion. Of course the white sauce was great. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Worst customer service ever!! I got food from them and right as soon as i reach home, there was a fly sitting right there on my sauce, i called the store and told them all they said was i am a liar and their store is clean, no flies that come in and out. I will take my busy somewhere else.
Delicious, inexpensive and fast!I stick with chicken and rice plus the white sauce and one line of red (hot). Its good every single time.I also find the portions are large enough that I can stretch it into a second meal. The chicken and rice re-heats well in the microwave where normally rice will get hard and meat will become rubbery.Ive introduced this dish to a friend and my father both who, in turn, have introduced others.Go and enjoy. Its the best sub-10 dollar meal you will have had in a long time.
Been coming here for the last 2 - 3 years and it been pretty good but for some reason recently the food has been getting worse with quality especially the chicken. Its become hit or miss with what they serve. I like coming here especially during my lunch but Ill have to stop if this continues. Also it would be nice if they actually put some tomatoes and onions in there salad.
The meat is always cooked fresh, the white sauce is heavenly, and you gotta have some of that hot sauce if youre into spice. Otherwise, their BBQ sauce is really nice and not spicy at all. This place is open all the time. Perfect for a late night with friends or family. Definitely check them out. Dont be alarmed. Its in a gas station and definitely a hole in the wall.
This place is the absolute bomb! Its in a gas station, and youll never believe that food could taste so good coming from a place that looks like this. The food here is just like the Halal food stands in NYC. I think they are short handed though since they only have one cook who also takes orders and cashiers at the same time, and the waiting could be long, but once you get your food......DELICIOUS!! 👍
I have had the chicken over rice or chicken/lamb over rice about 20 times in past 6 months. I would say that 18 of those times the food was amazing and the other 2 times the meat was a little dry. You absolutely cannot find a better quality meal for $6 or $7, let alone fast food. The portions are large. I will say the lamb is always better in the Hicksville location for some reason. I see them cut up the fillet right there so maybe its fresher. I would probably eat there 5 days a week if I didnt mind getting fat.
Found this place randomly when I wanted a quick and not super expensive meal with my bf. Lamb and Chicken combo over rice is our staple now. We go like every week when we’re craving it (which is a lot). It’s such comfort food when you’re having a bad day and it’s my go to whenever I don’t know what I want to eat.
This is my favorite hala place on long island to date (1/2019) The food has never been disappointing and the service is very friendly. Theyre also a little cheaper than some other places. Theyre 24 hrs which is amazing. I love this place so much, Ive gone 3 times in a week.
So ive lived down the block from this place for God knows how long . Ive recently came across it a couple months ago and im obsessed. Its hard to come buy good halal. I live next to a halal spot and i go out my way for this halal. The meat is always fresh and hot. They give huge portions which is what i love and for around 7$? Cant beat that. I go to this place around 3x a week. Amazing halal. Definitely worth every penny.
This place uses to be good once , but not anymore. they give you lots of rice and very little meat. Quality has also deteriorated. Staff says owner has instructed them to reduce keat quantity.Over all if you want just rice with sauce , you can go there , dont expect any meat
Food is ok if you need diesel place sucks expect to spend at least 45 min to fill up dont go there. I apologize for the mistake I have been going for awhile I thought you and the gas station were one and the same your food is very well prepared and your servers are pleasant and polite. Please accept my sincere apologies for my mistake
Ive been extremely tired of the same takeout in the neighborhood. Pizza places everywhere, Chinese food everywhere and then the usual fast food places. Ive tried a couple of wannabe halal food places around and theyre all terrible getting good review for some reason. I saw that Hamza and Medina opened on Crooked Hill rd in Commack and was surprised. Was it the same ones in Queens that tasted amazing and won awards? I went there today and it was delicious just like the ones in Queens. Highly recommended and theyre open 24 hours!
I ordered a combination plate of chicken and gyro meat, side kofta , and a side falafel. My falafel came already smashed and broken up. The white sauce kinda taste like ranch dressing . Everything else besides that tasted amazing and I especially liked the kofta. Will definitely be ordering again, just not falafel or white sauce.
Im on my way home from going to Walmart and I happen to see a sign for Halal food in a gas station... My first thought was that seems a little sketchy, but it just so happens this is the best Halal Ive eaten on Long Island. I found out it was Hazma and Madina which has a truck out in Nassau and Ive heard very good things about them. $7 for the perfect amount of chicken, lamb, rice and the side salad. The white sauce wasnt thick, the hot sauce was actually very hot and the green chutney sauce was on point. For once it felt like I was eating Halal from the city. So happy to have found a spot thats good and not that far from my house. Ill definitely be back.
Omg this place just continues to go down hill it was ok when it 1st opened but its not so good anymore the only time i come here is when im forced because its the only thing open late hours...omg and dont go to the bath room i rather go behind a bush.. I think the health department needs to visit this place..ASAP

2021-12-08Honestly such a great find... Located in a gas station of all places. I love these hole in the wall mom and pop restaurants. Great if you want to get fresh food as take out. I really like the chicken and rice. Comes with a side salad. Get the white sauce with spicy sauce on top for added flavor. Its so yummy. Ill be back again.

2022-04-21One of my fathers favorite take out restaurant, this was my first time eating any kind of Pakistani food and I love it, except for the chili (I dont like it) but my bro and father states they love it, theres a white sauce made of something I dont know but it was delicious while mixing it with the lamb meet.

2022-03-06Charged me $15 for extra chicken which he literally only gave me one extra piece. AND THEN HE I REALIZED THERE WAS A PIECE OF PLASTIC . I will never be returning to this place. He was so disrespectful

2022-04-25Love this little gas station located right by Suffolk county community college in Brentwood. They always have friendly staff, and the gas prices are never terrible! They have multiple gas pumps so usually dont have to wait, and they have a little store where you can buy multiple things. From food and drinks, to cigarettes, Advil, scratch offs, etc.

2018-10-02This is my 3rd time eating here. It’s a bit of a drive away so I go when I have a real craving. I enjoyed the first and third time more so than the second. I guess the quality could depend on who prepares it that day or how freshly it was prepared. I get the combo of chicken and lamb over rice. It was $7 if you pay cash directly, but if you pay with card you pay at the front register and tax is added. The meats and rice tastes really good and is overall very filling. I like to add white sauce and a little hot sauce. The people who work there are kind and efficient with the orders. I did find a small hair in my meal today, which was unexpected. I took it out and continued eating.Disappointed since this is my go to halal spot but I’ll probably still come back because the food is delicious. I recommend for a quick lunch or gas stop since it is connected to the gas station.

2020-02-12Location is a bit odd and first impressions were not the best, but the food was great. Ordered lamb gyro the first time which was okay but got the lab and chicken over rice which was a lot better.

2022-03-29Lamb was so dry it was crunchy and chicken overcooked as well . I ate more of the lettuce then anything else. The only reason its not a 1 star is because all my previous visits have been decent to great.
