This hand therapy group was recommended to me by a trusted physical therapist. I’ve been working with Katie for the last month or so and have noticed a marked improvement in hand strength and flexibility. I’m very pleased and relieved. The office is very well run - efficient and friendly.I would definitely come here again for any future hand problems.
I had a shoulder injury and would highly recommend Hand Therapy NYC. I received treatment from Katie, who I found very professional and knew exactly how to treat my condition. The suite is small, clean and maintains a friendly environment with supportive staff. Highly recommended.
After my surgery, it was recommended I see a certified hand/arm specialist. I feel incredibly lucky to have discovered Hand Therapy. The practice is spotless clean, the staff welcoming, and my therapist (Preston Lockwood) phenomenal. The exercises onsite and others I’m assigned to do at home are simple but extremely well targeted to help me get on track to reach my goal of complete recovery. I’d say Hand Therapy even improved my mobility after just the first two weeks. Amazing.
I am so glad I found Hand Therapy NYC. I needed to treat my mallet finger quick and they were able to schedule an appointment for me on the same day. The staff was professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. I wish there are more medical establishments with this level of service in NYC.
Hand Therapy NYC is the best and only hand therapy place that I will ever use for my Focal Dystonia. They always find the right solution and help me more than Botox injections that are administered by the leading doctors in the field (that is why I stopped the injections).
This is a very good place for hand therapy. Very comfortable and serene atmosphere, Covid clean, friendly and professional. The therapists are well trained and make you feel confident that your issues are being addressed and will be resolved. I have very much enjoyed working with Nidhi and have made great progress quickly with her help.
I received care at Hand Therapy after breaking my wrist and having surgery. I continued after a second surgery for a total of several months. My wrist and hand mobility improved greatly and I have continued with the exercises they recommended. This is a serene, friendly office with excellent therapists--and front-desk workers as well. I worked mainly with Michele and Nicole, whose expertise and concern were greatly reassuring.
I have had physical therapy in other facilities; however, this one is THE BEST! Hands Down! (Pun intended.) The therapists: Michelle and Nicole challenge me to further my recovery. The entire staff is so kind and always makes me feel super comfortable. I am so impressed and grateful for their expertise and aid in helping me with my speedy recovery. I highly recommend Hand Therapy NYC for their knowledgeable therapists, one-on-one treatment, clean facility and warm hospitality.
I worked with Nicole at Hand Therapy of NYC for eight months following a horrific household accident in which I broke my right ulna and radius. The surgery by Dr. Steven Beldner to install a plate was almost miraculously successful — but rendered my dominant hand a swollen, frozen claw.Nicole was the optimal mix of “tough and tender” during my stepwise journey back to normal life. Thorough and diligent, she is highly educated in the divine intricacies of hand anatomy and physiology. While highly professional, she is also fun to work with (and it IS work!) Her engaging conversation always made the time fly — even when she was coaxing my hand to do things it preferred not to!She always congratulated me on my many small milestones (like being able to tie my own shoes.) As a seasoned professional, she has no doubt been though this with many other patients. But she imparts the sense that your case is unique and that she genuinely cares — a hugely motivating benefit when recovering from something like this. The support staff were also great. (Special shout out to Natalie for the warm compresses and conversations.) Hand Therapy NYC is run by women, and it seems a well-run and cheerful place. The scheduling was flawless, with reminders arriving by text. They dealt with all the insurance issues on my behalf. From an administrative perspective, it was hassle-free.Five-star experience. While I don’t recommend you break your hand — if you do, I highly recommend HTNYC!
Ive been to several hand therapy providers the past few years and I am so happy to have found this one. Unlike large centers where you timeshare your hour with 3-4 other patients, here you get personalized 1-on-1 treatment from friendly and knowledgeable therapists (Michelle and Nicole are terrific!). The location is easily accessible by public transportation even for NJ-ites. The office itself is clean and modern. The equipment is all new and state of the art. And an important consideration for me is that they accept Medicare (along with other insurers). Bottom line: if you want personalized therapy from top-notch therapists, this is the place to go.
Michelle, Nicole, and the whole team at Hand Therapy are great. Top notch therapists, great location, and they did a lot of fighting with my insurance company for me to get my visits paid for. I cant say enough good things about hand therapy NYC. Will go back if I ever need it again!
They have a good system for booking appointments. Treatment is from experienced therapists. The office is clean, well cared for. Equipment is appropriate for different hand issues and injuries. I too am a therapist and with all professions we should not treat ourselves. Hand Therapy NYC is the place I go for my arthritic joints.
Words can’t describe the gratitude I have for Nicole Pizzolato over at Hand Therapy NYC. I am a 34-year-old pianist who has struggled with a right hand/upper shoulder nerve problem for the past 17 years. At the age of 17 I had the misfortune of being taught a piano technique that subjected my right hand and by connection my shoulder, to a completely unnatural position. The end result was a muscle imbalance in both my hand and shoulder areas, along with a mild but continuously bothersome pinching of the median nerve in my hand. The muscle imbalances caused the frustrating sensation that the knuckles of my thumb, index and pinky fingers had literally moved places, and it goes without saying that as a pianist I felt that I had lost normal functioning of the fine-motor capabilities of my hand.I had been to many doctors and physical therapists over the years, most of which either told me that I had no problem, or that I will have to deal with this for the rest of my life. Even my own piano teachers didn’t believe I had a problem, since I had no severe pain, but would then complain when my performances weren’t “up to par.” As a result, I was relegated to a way of living which consisted of basically just “dealing with it.”Nicole understood my problem from Day 1. Through her deep knowledge and expertise (which feels like they are way beyond her years!), she was able to discern the exact nature of my problem. We began with Astym twice a week (this stuff works!), along with a set of specific exercises targeting all the right muscle groups both in the shoulder as well as hand areas, in order to restore the much needed balance and proper functioning of my hand. The nerve issue would of course complicate things during the rehabilitation process. But Nicole kept guiding me through the thin and thick of it all, expertly knowing when to ease and when to push ahead. The result is that now I am mostly problem-free, and my hand structure has regained its feeling of normalcy and proper function at the keyboard. If I occasionally encounter any mild nerve issues I know exactly how to deal with them, since through my time with Nicole I gained all the necessary knowledge and tools on how to pace myself and what to do when things get tough. In my eyes, Nicole performed a miracle for me!I would recommend working with Nicole for any hand or shoulder issue one suffers from. She is a consummate professional, a great listener, a caring individual, and I feel privileged to have had the chance to work with her.

2022-02-15Its been four months since my elbow surgery and after only my initial evaluation and one therapy session with Katie, this is the first time since my accident that I have really felt like my arm will one day be normal again. The progress after only two visits was so remarkable, I cant wait to continue my therapy and keep building on it. I feel so fortunate that I found Katie and Hand & Physical Therapy.
