H&M in other cities:
I was shopping for a mens blazer/jacket and I asked one of the sales associates what size the jackets go up to - this information would be helpful in knowing if we could find a proper fit. She said I dont know you have to look online. Im not sure how this was supposed to help me, I was looking to purchase the jacket today. She was working in the mens department too so it was brash and extremely unhelpful. Even if I look online to see what size the jackets go up to (which, she should have offered to do for me) how will I know what size they actually have in stock? A proper response would be to check their inventory system to see what sizes are available. Very strange experience.
I really like the clothes at H&M, and I was very disappointed when they closed down their store in my town. I was visiting Syracuse so I thought I would take advantage of the big H&M store they have at the mall there, but I was treated so poorly as a customer, I ended up returning everything I purchased from there - all $355 worth. Heres why:1. There are several people working in the store, but they are very unfriendly, and seem to avoid the customers.2. Store policy is to allow just 7 items at a time in the dressing room. Apparently that also means that if you have a 2 pack of tank tops, that counts as 2 items, so if you want to try on a M and a L to see which fits best, thats over half of your store-imposed limit. You have to get completely re-dressed after every 7 individual articles of clothing to go back out and exchange clothes with the dressing room attendant. If youre buying a lot of clothes (willing to give H&M a lot of your $$), this could take a very long time.3. Im 7 months pregnant, and its very visible. I had 2 hands completely full of clothes, and none of the employees offered to get me a basket or take any clothes to the register for me to hold while I continued to shop.4. When I got to the checkout line, there was ONE employee at the stores 2 registers, and the line was LONG. Progressing in the line was taking so long, in fact, that customers were setting down their clothes to mark their place in line while they looked around the store some more to stave off their boredom.5. When it was finally my turn at the register (by now a second cashier had shown up - the same woman that was working in lingerie, and then in the fitting room, and now at the register), I put all my clothes on the counter and waited while the cashier rang up my purchases. Why doesnt the register automatically bring up the correct prices for each item? If there is a special or a sale, the cashier has to manually enter the correct price, if she remembers to. I dont know how much I overpaid because the correct prices dont automatically ring up. Also, this cashier, who is the same woman who told me that a 2 pack of tank tops counts as 2 items in the dressing room, painstakingly separated each and every 2 pack, so that only 1 tank top has a tag and the other does not. Same goes with the 2 packs of maternity bras I purchased. What the hell!? Keep that together, so when I try things on AT HOME I can return 2 packs that dont fit as a complete unit, without having to explain the cashiers incompetency and hope it flies when I want my money back. Finally, the cashier didnt ring up every single item. She missed a 3 pack of panties (she must not have seen them at all, since they were still a complete unit of 3 when I got them home). Not a big deal, perhaps, but giving away free clothes, like theft, makes prices increase. So, after talking to 2 customer service reps on the phone, I decided that Im just so disgusted with my experience at this store that I wanted to just return it all and get a full refund. After 36 minutes on the phone with the 2nd rep, they told me I can ship everything back to them, but the shipping cost is on me. Then I was pretty livid. No one at H&M thought to say Yeah, we screwed things up and treated you pretty poorly. We will do what it takes to make it right with this customer. When I started yelling, the rep went to check with his boss (for about the 8th time on this phone call), and they finally agreed to cover the shipping cost. Fedex is coming today for the pickup. Hopefully my credit card sees a full refund within the week.
Walked in with a group of friends (a total of four people including myself for those of you who prefer to have background information) I went in to see if they had a specific shirt in stock... they didnt. Which is fine, thats not their fault if anything its mine. But! The one thing I didnt like was that the entire staff was eyeing us throughout the entire time we were shopping the store. We were doing exactly what the store is there for... To shop. Completely made me feel uncomfortable. Watching our every move. I have never in my years of living ever stole anything, and even though we didnt do anything wrong this situation has completely made me feel like a theif. Im here on a business trip and I refuse to ever step foot in that store again. H&M has lost my business forever. If Im shopping I want to feel comfortable and safe. I did not feel that way shopping there. As a matter of fact I was interrupted three times by three different employees asking me if I needed help. No I dont, and I wont be shopping here again.HERES THE CRAZY PART 3 out of the four people were white.
Last month I shopped at H&M and their was a sales associate who is so slow and rude. I even helped her take the hangers off the clothes and she still was slow, I know that Im not the only person who feels this way. I think her name was Jasmine (it started with a J).African American weighs about 270 pounds. I want to give H&M some advice. You dont need people who act like they dont wan to work or be at work, especially ringing out people. You will lose customers if you keep employing sales associates like her. I wish I would have wrote this earlier but been really busy so I dont have the actual date sorry,
I used to shop here for my clothes. After not going for a while I was looking forward to getting new clothes. I couldnt believe how much it has changed (destiny) . The clothes were very poor quality and the styles were very different than the last time I was there. I was really disappointed.

2022-05-04Never felt so unwelcome in a store before. Was there at 6:30PM when they close at 7, walked into the fitting room to try something on at 6:42 and was literally yelled at by the attendant that the fitting room was closed. When I said, really? She replied, Yes - we close in 15 minutes. I had a shirt and two pairs of pants to try on, which wouldve taken approximately five minutes. About 5 minutes before that, security was already telling people to hurry it up because the store was closing. Experiences like this are the exact reason that its just easier and honestly better to shop online.

2021-07-19Such a disappointing store though. Nice people, great staff but their product lines are just...outdated. I went to the outlet store west of here in Waterloo... Same stuff, same price. Google HM sitting on billions of dollars in unsold clothes and that is why they opened these outlet stores... To make you think they are discounting it but they arent. Compare it. I promise they are the same price.

2022-01-14Walked in at 6:45 while just walking the mall and got literally screamed at by the girl behind the register that they were closed and we couldnt come in, even though the security guard greeted us and was super friendly. Walked out, wont go back.

I like the variety of styles here and appreaciate the great shoes, accessories and jewelry as well. The store is pretty huge, but once a friendly employee walked me through its now easy to navigate the sections and styles. The sales here are unbelievable! Great stuff at low prices.Ill also add I absolutely LOVE how if you bring in clothes (used) to donate, they repurpose them and award you with a 15% off coupon!

2019-06-13H & M was GREAT!! Its not always easy shopping with a 19 year old, but this was perfect because we both found exactly what we were looking for. The store was clean, well organized and stocked, and prices were extremely reasonable. Erica, who cashed us out, was so helpful and pleasant when answering all my questions! Thanks Erica!

2020-08-15I had to return some pants and sales associate ,Joshua, was absolutely amazing in assisting me with trying to find my size and the correct exchange. Mind you, this is during the COVID and I could not try anything on. However, Joshua was probably the best salesman I have encountered in all the stores I have shopped in before or during this pandemic. Such professionalism from Josh and H & M is now my all time favorite go to store!
