Harbor Freight Tools in other cities:
Best tool store in the area. I have been buying their tools for years since they opened up in Middletown NY. The stores are set up for customers to be able to fold what they come for with ease. The people working there are always friendly and super helpful. Thanks Harbor Freight for fill my life with joy and tools!
What a great experience at Harbor Freight in Poughkeepsie. We needed plumbing tools on a Sunday and based on the website product reviews and what they had in stock, we headed to HF. Thomas (the sales manager) helped us to compare products, features, prices, sale offers, etc. and put together a great package for us. We went home, assembled our new tools and cleared up our plumbing situation in less than an hour. We will absolutely be shopping at the Poughkeepsie HF again and looking for more friendly, helpful advice from Thomas.
I have purchased several large ticket tools from here, and theyve been great. For like half the price of name brand competitors. However, the 4 stars is because there are some items you simply shouldnt buy here. Gloves. Drill bits. Zip ties. Pretty much anything smaller than your fist.
I just called asking about a handheld voltage tester. Told her Id gone there in the past looking for something that wasnt there. She then asked if Id looked online. Not sure why Id be calling if i needed to be sure before I go there. I had to ask if she knew how to find out and she unexpectedly passed the phone onto someone else that was able to give me the info I needed. Why answer a phone if you arent capable of answering simple questions without asking for a part number as the only way to find out what Im looking for? Anyways kudos to the guy that helped me with what I thought wasnt a big deal.
Do you need durable, reliable power tools that will work for many years? Well, go somewhere else. Their tools will get you through that one job you need to finish, however and the prices are in line with the quality. They always distribute coupons for a free (small) item per visit and a 20 or 25 % discount on one item, so check a newspaper or online source before you go.
Great place for tools and things. Prices are cheap and their coupons make them even cheaper. You can save big bucks on hand tools, power tools and air tools that all work great for basic use. Only negative, which is minor, is that the checkout line can be long and take awhile if youre in a hurry.
Very good value, excellent tools for the DIY person. Most tools offer performance that meets or exceeds professional line tools for a fraction of the price. If youre using the tools occasionally but cant justify paying to truck price Harbor Freight offers affordable tools that work very well. Their associates are very helpful
Lots of tools. Harbor freight was always known for throw away tools. They are really stepping up there game. I have bought there Bauer line for home use and they have been great.I used them on some houses I wired and no issue. They have a lot of coupons but hats more for there junkie stuff and not there higher end.If you watch you will occasionally find a coupon for there better stuff. With Sears pretty much done you have to go to HD or Lowes.I dont want to deal with people looking for plumbing and all the other construction related stuff to go get a tool.I like that all they sell is tools.
Went to buy steel toe work boots and toolbox. When asked front to get toolbox was out of stock. Then proceeded to ask if I could just buy the display toolbox and was told they cant do that so ended up driving down 45mins to buy nothing wasted the gas when they told me on the phone a hr before it was definitely in stock.
I want there because my friend need to pick up stuff but there is a ton of really cool stuff that people know what theyre talking about and yeah just a cool store overall for tools and everything that revolves around them..... I have been back till several timesIve had an issue with something I bought online and the person I dealt with at the store in Poughkeepsie his name was Steve was absolutely fantastic and would not let me leave without complete satisfaction of my experience of the store. From now on I will not be shopping online I will deal directly at the store level, especially when they have people like him....
Some people say that Harbor Freight tools are cheap and I say, they are, in price, but they insinuate that they are in quality, and I tell them that I bought a $14.95 (sometimes on sale for $9.95) Hand Grinder and that I use one in my shop every day for over 9 years and never had an issue. MORE POWER TO YOU HARBOR FREIGHT !!!
Staff actually locked the door 10 minutes early before close. The cashier said it was 3 min to close on their clock...it was 7:52pm on my cellphone. people who wanted to get inside actually had to wait for people to leave just to ask to go inside to grab something. Even when I approached the employee she started to close the door on me . Who ever the manager is this is very poor service. And Ive been doing customer service for many years and know good from bad... I will never recommend this place to any one. Infact I will tell people to take their business elsewhere.
Suckey store. Harbor freight is what it is. Cheap chinese tools and other junk. These cheap tools have their place but if you career or your life depend on them, buy them elsewhere. For once in a lifetime or once a year use, you can usually get by with a cheap tool. With that being said a visit to harbor freight tools that dont suck type websites can save you some frustration. These sites will give you real world reviews and the model nimbers you need to pick an adequate tool from their selection. This particular store sucks. The manager is an a-hole and was when he worked at tractor supply. Really, how hard is it to make eye contact and acknowledge your customers? The cashiers are horrible here. Slow, miserable and inefficient. They usually only have one cashier so customers are forced to wait in line. Managers and other staff just walk on by and think this is ok, instead of opening the the other register.Speaking of cashiers, please stop asking me about extended service plans and tool clubs. I obviously found your store and bought something without having my mailbox full of your junk mail. So give it a rest, especially while other customers are waiting.Whats with the quarter deposit on shopping carts? Other stores dont have that. Except stop and shop on 17s in NJ. Im tempted to buy some cheap chinese bolt cutters off you and set them free. The final thing that annoys me at this store is the cheap glass doors on the front. Yhe operate manually. So you have to literally wrestle the door to get a cart inside.
Been shopping here for a couple of years in this store with no issues, the last visit was very negative and upsetting, I was lied to by a young guy with a beard and a guy that may work there, see him hanging around the store. I drove 20 minutes to the store only to have these two lie to me about an item I had called and checked stock on, they were smug, I left and I knew they were lying so I decided to call the store again the next morning to check stock again, sure enough, I spoke with someone else and magically they still had 3 in stock, I had one put aside and went there and made the purchase, these two idiots made me waste 40 minutes round trip for nothing. Ive been to other harborfreight stores and employees have always been polite, even this store, its just my experience with these two, I have no idea what I did or said, I will make sure harborfrieght knows about it.
My fiancé and I enjoy coming to this place, however we had a not so nice experience today. One of the employees at the cash register made a comment on our addresss location that came up on my fiancés account. The address is considered a more wealthy area and the guy at the register said that my fiancé and I must be rich too. when we said that wasnt really the case and we didnt live in that area anymore, he then proceeded to apologize that we werent made of money and then gave us a coupon saying he did it out of sympathy. We didnt appreciate at all and I refuse to be talked down to like that. He was rude, obnoxious and should keep his closed regarding someones personal information and keep his comments to himself.
Stopped in the first time about a week ago looking for a particular product found that the store was a bit unorganized and it was difficult to find someone to assist me but seems like they did have quite a few tools and hardware and prices seem reasonable but it was a bit difficult to find anything.

2021-07-29If your a DIY person, Harbor Freight is for you. They have amazing prices on lots of different things. Now, if you’re a professional or a serious craft person who wants tools that are really high-quality and will last a lifetime, look somewhere else. The store is well organized and quite clean. I found exactly what I was looking for and I am quite pleased with my purchase. There are always specials and clearance items so I usually end up with more than I came for. Good thing this store is not right around the corner from me lol

2020-01-29Harbor Freight is moving on up ! The recent introduction of their new “ICON” tool line is worth a second look. The hand tools they now offer, sockets, wrenches, ratchets, etc. look and feel substantial, the Finnish is beautiful, to say the least, and they do carry a lifetime warranty. For everyone thinking Harbor Freight is a purveyor of cheap, knock off tools, it seems they have stepped up their game with this tool line. The tools are priced higher than the stores standard offerings, but are extremely competitive with the professional tool truck brands that arrive weekly at the repair shops. For anyone wishing to save on a massive tool bill, you should venture out to Harbor Freight, and see the new tool display. The really impressive part of this new tool line is actually their “tool storage system”. Besides telling you that it’s massive, solid, well thought out, beautifully finished, and has size and design options available, And four color choices !! I could go on and on, but you need to see for yourself. They are now on display, also come with a lifetime warranty, and “free” delivery. It’s also worthy of mention that Harbor Freight Tools caries almost every facet of tool needs you might need, be it auto mechanics, carpentry, welder, tile setter, house painter, electrician. Now that’s not saying they have absolutely everything you might ever need, but they surely come close. And they also have a very reasonably priced wall of work gloves.I really want to give this tool line a five star review, but not having used any of these tools, just going by look and feel, Finnish, (I also sold tools many years ago, S&K brand), I leave it a four star for the time being, mainly to see how the company handles any warranty issues/returns.Happy wrenchin !!

2022-02-09Great place for cheap quality automotive tools and accessories. I work at a dealership and deal with Snap On, Matco, Mac Tools and Harbor Freights Icon tool brand is just as good as the rest. If you want cheaper affordable tools, with brand name quality, Icon is the way to go.

2022-04-17Harbor Freight has raised their prices so much and done away with discount coupons such that it really does not make sense to buy from them anymore. They are a bit sneaky now. They appear cheap but really are not.

2021-03-13A discount supermarket for all your tool needs. A first consideration durung any project beginning. I ask myself, can I get away with using a Harbor Freight _____ ?. The answer is the eternal price vs durability comparison. Do I need this tool to last forever? How long can I get out of this? Is it actually cheaper than anywhere else? I know, all deep questions, but timeless nonetheless. I particularly appreciate the entry-level price on some tools that I wouldnt necessarily buy if not for the discount compared to Lowes, Home Depot or online. Did I need an 18 1/2 drive breaker bar? No, I didnt. But it was so cheap I bought it anyway. Did I need 500 assorted rivets? Nope. But it was the same price as 50 at Lowes. Buy one file for $6 on Amazon, or 10 for $12 here? You be the judge. But I stand by erratic haphazard spending frugality. - Satisfied Hobbyist

2022-05-19My first time there. Ive been purposely avoiding it; I have an issue, an serious issue with impulse shopping. I like tools. All shiny and new. Prices are great. The question Ill not know the answer to just yet; how is the quality? Its easy for the vendor to claim they are quality tools. Time will tell!Today was a good day! Bought a new gas powered chainsaw with the Insiders discount. Once the weather clears, those trees are getting a trim!!
