I walked in to get information for my mom. I am looking into assisted living for her as she is aging alone and lonely at home. I was introduced to the director of community relations, Joan. She was warm and welcoming in a very genuine way. She gave me clear information and answered all my questions regarding what to expect when my mom would live there. I pray everything works out well for mom to move in and if Joan was just a preview of what to expect here, then we have a lot of good things to look forward to with my mother’s moving in to Harborview.

This place has been a godsend for my mom. I continue to communicate with Marla and she has been nothing but helpful, genuinely cares about her residents and it shows. Anytime I call or come to visit, my mom is happy, and obviously well cared for by the staff. Any issues I have had, and there were very few, were addressed immediately and rectified just as quickly. I can with 100% confidence recommend Harborview Home for Adults to anyone looking for a safe and loving place for their loved ones. My mom had been a resident for a little over 2 years now and although there are changes with the management, the one thing that has remained the same is upper management cares deeply about their residents. Especially Marla whom I regularly communicate with and is always there to help.

My grandmother has been there for a little over a year due to Alzheimers and Dementia, my sisters and I are very pleased with this place. Shes doing great. The staff is very nice and they seem to care about my grandmother and the other residents. The communication is very good as well. The social worker always keeps in touch with us. So far, I have only compliments.

Im so glad we found this place for my aunt! The staff is helpful and courteous. The management is really caring and will go the extra mile for each resident. Ms. Marla really deserves a special mention for making the transition so pleasant. We are looking forward to the upcoming renovations this summer. A fresh new look with those ocean views will really be the icing on the cake :-)

Dont trust this place! The person who does admissions, Marla, is so unprofessional. She promises quality care when you are admitted and then does the opposite. Anything she says to you, get in writing, or better yet, find another place where you be assured that your loved ones care is most important, not how much money their insurance will give.

*UPDATE @6/15/19My mother-in-law is in the hospital completely unresponsive and in critical condition thanks to Marlas interference when we tried to send her to the ER Tuesday, June 11th 2019. Officers and MD are aware of these events, as are our family and friends. Writing this in hopes that it doesnt happen to another family.------Completely livid at todays events. Marla completely went against doctors orders and family concerns because of a personal bias she has with my mother-in-laws daughter, which she openly expressed while we were trying to remedy a situation and get my mother-in-law evaluated to ensure her condition did not worsen. This is not how an assisted living facility should operate. Families should be supported and staff should keep their personal feelings aside.

MARLA LEVINE BUTBUL held my terminally ill mother despite MD orders - NOW MY MOM IS UNRESPONSIVE IN HOSPITAL. No other staff member present attempted to keep her - Marla spoke directly to MD, EMS and Officers going against MD orders...she has ZERO medical knowledge and is NOT a family member. She was escorted out by police. If you express yourself she leaves reviews (sometimes from fake names like “Maria B”) praising herself/the facility and lies attacking you.SADLY, aside from a review. If you want to ensure the safety of your loved one and get any positive results you need to get the authorities involved and seek help from outside agencies.

My brother lived independently until a stroke in the summer of 2013 landed him in the hospital for a few days and in rehab for another month and a half. He regained most of his physical and cognitive abilities but not enough to resume living independently. He has lived at Harbor View Home for nearly six years now and it is home.He values the ability to come and go as he pleases but can access help when he needs it. His hearing is impaired and the staff at Harbor View often help with making appointments on the phone for him. If he has a problem in his apartment-something breaks or the AC isnt working-he just calls the front desk and it gets fixed. Two days before Passover, he was found unresponsive on the floor of his room. Jasmin Ginn, care manager at Harbor View, sat and talked to him while waiting for 911 to respond. Everyone at Harbor View helped in the days and weeks that followed to provide any assistance to Harvey and myself that was needed. When he came home to Harbor View from rehab, he was warmly greeted and went right back to his normal routine.Everyone at Harbor View, from management to staff to nursing assistants to medication supervisor and (health) care manager, and the front desk greeters, are warm and supportive. They are currently undergoing renovations that will make life even easier for the residents. I am happy to give them a 5 star rating for their balance of independent living and assistive care when needed.

This has been one of the most stressful experience ever. The girl that does the arrangements for the place promise us the world, once admitted all we had was a spot to stand on. By that time we foolishly gave up dads rent control apartment he was only paying $650 for almost $4000 monthly bill with the promise of comfort, good food and companionship. Companionship he had for sure. He was cramped in a tiny room with another man, no privacy for any able body individual. They could literally touch buttock if they turn in opposite direction simultaneously. Dont let me talk about the food, I could predict whats on the menu for next month. He lost over 20lbs was unrecognizable. We had to start ordering food from outside, yet another expense. The receptionist was always so grumpy when we would call out of concern or to complain. I get so angry whenever I thing of this place and wonder how they still manage to stay in operation. I do hope that girl Merla if I recall no longer works there for the sake of many families who rely on places like this. Disgusted, my husband is so broken by the untimely death of his dad. We believe his stroke was stress related to his situation at that place.

The truth is that my mother needed to go to the hospital as per her doctor, and Marla Bulbul interfered. There was no threatening. She is just trying to save face. What did happen was that Marla, in front of the police, my mom, and EMS, said she had a personal problem with my sister. It was so unprofessional that the police officer requested that she leave the room. Do NOT expect her to have the residents best interest at heart at all.
