Hardings in other cities:
My husband and I had our wedding reception at Hardings in October of 2021 and we could not be happier with how the night turned out!The owners Jill and Ken are both amazing and on top of everything. We didn’t hire a wedding planner, and thanks to Jill we didn’t need one! She helped with all of the planning - menu, timeline, coordinating with other vendors, etc. - and was extremely easy to work with and very organized. The staff all go above and beyond and are very professional and great at their respective jobs. Every bartender there is a mixologist in their own right and they all make amazing cocktails whether they are pre-planned or on the fly. We had passed hors devours to start and multiple food stations. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about how delicious all the food was. The venue itself is perfect for a wedding reception. We had 120 guests and it seemed like the perfect number, not crowded, but not empty feeling either. The giant bar in the front and the efficiency of the bartenders ensured there was never a wait for a drink. We would highly recommend Harding’s to any couple looking for a unique wedding venue in NYC! Thank you so much, Jill and Ken!
A group from my office was celebrating our first get-together as a team and Hardings was an exceptional place. They did a great job accomodating our group of 12 people. Food, drinks, and especially the service were excellent. The vegan/vegetarian options were also really great. Thank you!
A bit inconsistent. Drinks were good. Watermelon in salad was not good. Should always taste your star ingredients before serving.. sliders were overcooked but tasty. Tuna tartar with avo was good. Great homemade chips and sweet potato fries were nice wedges and also very tasty.
TLDR; Excellent spot for a “non-traditional” wedding and great event planning service.Long story but up front will say I did not actually have my wedding here. Our wedding was scheduled for March 2020; postponed and eventually canceled due to covid. We did go through planning a wedding with Jill and Ken for over a year and I can say their attention to detail and communication is fabulous. They understand what a bride & groom need to know and are so easy to work with. Totally made us feel like the space would really be ours for the night and everything could be personalized. They were so gracious and communicative when covid eventually had to take our wedding outside NYC in 2021. After going through the planning process a second time at another restaurant venue I can say Hardings really stands out. Will always be sad we never got married here but would highly recommend them to anyone!
Went here with friends for a night out. The food was absolutely delicious. The Flatbread appetizers were great, and I the lobster mac&cheese was amazing. The wine list is lacking. Almost all the options come from California, and the wait staff isnt as helpful as they think they are. My server talked me out of the bottle I selected, and told me to upgrade to a more expensive one. The selection was less than I would expect from her promotion, and I should have gone with my original choice. Overall it was a great atmosphere and made for a great meal
I like the service, food and atmosphere at Hardings. It has that old look to it. I love the leather chair! The service has always been good here. Weve ordered the Chicken Club and Lobster Roll during lunch...so good. The meatballs were really good too. Ive had the grilled chicken entree for dinner a few times with green beans. That was always good. Definitely one of my neighborhood favorites.
Went to Harding’s for a Saturday date night and was pleased with our experience. The drinks were wonderful as well as the food. Everything that came to our table exceeded our expectations. Although the atmosphere and the dishes contributed to the 5 star review, I have to say that the star of the show was our waiter, Travis. Exceptional service from the moment we walked in the door to the moment we got up to leave. Travis was attentive, more than happy to go through the menu, and created a personable experience. We will certainly be back for the great food but with the request of Travis taking care of us.
Excellent upscale restaurant in Flatiron. Great American food. The chef on staff had great use of flavors, and nothing was over-seasoned or under cooked. Ambiance is great.. Nice golden lighting, timeless decor, and beautiful finishings. The wait staff is attentive but not intrusive. I went with my brother, we both ordered burgers. Absolutely delicious. Served on a slightly sweet, warm, fresh bun with beautiful grill marks. The meat was fresh, cooked with a thin line of pink on the inside... perfect medium-rare. Also a great selection of cocktails.. This place is great for lunch, dinner, by yourself or with a group of friends. Ive been to birthday parties here.. All were fun experiences. Highly recommend to any of my friends who are visiting the city.
Seated at a table next to the bar with a loud tech party going on. There was a quieter table in the corner in the back which they refused to move us to even though nobody ever sat there. Granted we are old people so maybe the mistake was ours for ever showing up... btw I paid for the whole thing and actually gave a tip even though I didn’t want to.
Went for dinner in the private back room. Decor is beautiful, service was wonderful, very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious. We ordered a few starters for the table, fig toast, meatballs and flatbread. I only tried the meatballs, which were delicious. The scallop appetizer was great, though a single scallop for about $14 is ridiculous, even by Manhattan standards. The highlight of the meal, by far, was the short ribs. It was so good I didnt want it to be finished! I also tried my friends steak, which was delicious!
Really enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff is terrific. One thing I picked up on, that I have rarely witnessed anywhere else, they seat you with one table in between you and another party. I loved it. Usually they assign a server a section and pack you all into one side of the restaurant. While its not a huge deal to some, I really appreciated the attention to that detail the host/servers paid to it.Food was delicious and fresh. Drinks were delicious.
My wife gave me a gift certificate last Christmas to Hardings because we had driven by it when in the city one time, and it looked like a place wed enjoy.Recently, we were visiting the city again and called to see if we could get some take out food with our certificate. We were calling before the restaurant was open for service, as we were on our way out of town, so I was asking a favor, given that the gift certificate was going to be expiring in a month or so. Been in the city very rarely due to the Covid situation. The manager Jill told me shed discuss it with the chef and call me back. She very nicely told me that theyd make an exception this time due to all things concerned. The food was just superb. Short Ribs, Meat Balls, Black Truffle Burrata, and Garlic Potato Skins. Everything was cooked to perfection, and so delicious. And Jill went above and beyond for us. It was so appreciated. Thank you Jill, and Chef.Well be back one day, for sure.
Cool hamburger spot that is kid friendly yet has happy hourI ordered a bunless chicken sandwich with jalapeños and avocado. It was very tasty Hardings.Service was prompt and courteousTables were a little dirty but other than that I wouldDefinitely recommend this place for all your hamburger needsHardingsThey serve shakes and ice cream as well. Also beer and wine.
We went for a private bday party. The place was surprisingly empty for a Saturday night, but that worked in my favor for quieter ambiance. Bartenders were knowledgeable and nice. Food selection was good for a bar, but definitely not restaurant worthy.I would go there again.
I had my Birthday dinner at Harding’s this past Friday. Let me start by saying the decor was beautiful, the hostess was so kind. The waiter was superb and the food and drinks were amazing, (reasonably prices as well) . I highly recommend Harding’s to anyone who is looking for an amazing great dining experience. I will definitely return.
Beautiful boutique style restaurant and lounge in NYC. If you are looking for a place to have a corporate event, look no further! Its centrally located in the heart of NYC. The food is delicious. Amazing sushi. The drinks are well made. The staff is friendly and go out of their way. The owner was a darling as well. Highly recommended for corporate events.
GREAT FOOD & SERVICE. My only dissatisfaction, it gets LOUD. By 6pm, the restaurant was in full force (a very good sign) & we were shouting over the table to conversate. Instead of dessert, we had a cheese place that was to die for. Drank a delicious Reisling. Hard to dine & hear yourself think, but HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Overall, Hardings has good drinks and decent food. But for the area its nothing special. Given that it doesnt have a happy hour (when every place around it does), its often crowded after work with standing room only, that knocks it down a star in my book. For lunch or past happy hour, its worth checking out. But if its before 7pm, youre better off finding something else in the area.
Weve gone for dinner twice since its close to our apartment and because its always easy to get a table - literally nearly empty both times weve gone.Food highlights: 1. Fig Toast (Id go back just for this! Yum!) and the 2. The Burger. We havent gone for brunch or happy hour but apparently the HH is quite good and much more crowded than the dinner scene.
Really loved the atmosphere-- spacious and intimate all at once, and very stylish. Cool, attractive crowd and staff and super friendly. The food and cocktails were top notch too! Had the kale salad and the branzini and both were perfectly seasoned and branzini was particularly awesome. Cant wait to come back!
Food was ok. Not a very big menu. Loud, but fun place. My friend had an allergy to seasame, the waiter was informed (he actually asked before we even brought it up) but we still had something brought to us with seasame oil in it. Luckily my friend tasted it immediately and spit it out or this could have been life threatening. Manager and waiter were very apologetic and offered to get us Benedryl or call EMS. They also checked on us several times afterwards and gave us dessert on the house which was nice.
Bartender/waitress was very slow (10 minutes to get a drink refill) with the place empty, burger didnt have a drop of salt/pepper, fries has very little salt and no salt on table, A/C was not on and sweating profusely is not entertaining.Other than that, iconic place to eat and had good drinks.
Great food and service in a federalist inspired space.Started great with the cocktails: got the Up in Smoke, a mezcal drink that I would recommend to and mezcal fan, to me it was almost like a play on an old fashioned. Then got the burratta. The flavors were good, though I personally prefer a less watery cheese. Then the entree: I would be given the chicken a 5/5 but my fiance ordered the braised short ribs which stole put the chicken to shame.Would certainly come again and recommend to friends.
Pretty great BLT, decided to give this place a try after seeing it on a list of NYC’s best places for lunch. Really enjoyed the atmosphere, the restaurant had a beautiful interior. Only thing holding my review from 5 stars is that the price on the review website I saw was different than the price in the store; paid $20 for a BLT.
I came here for drinks around 10:30 on a Saturday and was disappointed to find the kitchen already closed. Around 12:30 I started getting hungry and was shot down when I asked if I could bring some food in. I guess they would rather me drink at another bar that would allow me to eat there. The bartenders were friendly and the service was good. They have Lefthand Milk Stout on tap which is one of my favorites.
Meh. Went for a work lunch thing on a Friday afternoon, waiter took our drink orders and didn’t bother to come back. Got the house burger with egg and cheese and fries on the side. Food was a bit bland in my opinion, other people there with me said the same. Also witnessed another waiter trying to deliver food to two different tables before finding the right one on the third try, place was maybe 1/3 filled.
Cool, low key spot. Atmosphere is pretty chill. I was really impressed with the food. Started with a very yummy lobster mac and cheese and I have to say Hardings doesnt not hold back and is generous with the chunks of lobster in the dish. For my entrée, I tried the chicken with whole grain mustard and coleslaw. It was perfection. Not kidding!! Its a simple dish but was well put together. The coleslaw is more like a refreshing salad, not too much mayo and the chicken is just really delicious. You get mostly breast but I like that they also put dark meat underneath, that way you get to experience more of the chicken. I tried my friends filet mignon - oh my god! That was fantastic... maybe better than my chicken. It definitely was the rock star dish. If youve got room for it, try the Griddle Cake. Its what happens when a pancake makes babies with French toast. Didnt taste much of the moonshine in the ice cream, but it was a phenomenal dish. Cannot forget to mention that our server Antonio was excellent. He recommended my chicken and also the griddle cake and made sure we were never thirsty. The Tom Collins is my go to.
Found through Google Maps and reserved from the Netherlands. We got places under an American flag from 1896. The decor had a lot of atmosphere, the waitress was very nice and the food very tasty. In short ... the great end to a great first day !! Highly recommended.Found it on Google maps and made reservations from the Netherlands. We where seated under an American flag from 1896. The ambience was nice, the waitress was very kind and the food was very good. In short a great end or a great first day !! I can really recommend it!
I have been here twice, and the way cocktails are overestimated is nothing special. Will get real noise... Food is not bad, but not a big menu choice, it is also overrated. - Octopus and potato salad: The only thing caught on the menu is my attention - tuna 鞑靼: normal - dry pot cake: not bad, like pancake fluffy

2022-04-05A great venue for private events! I booked the private den for a small birthday drinks and I couldnt have been more happy with how the night went. The room was available to be booked the whole evening, the staff rearranged the furniture and decor exactly how I requested and there was a great selection of food and drinks I ordered for my guests. The room had such a great atmosphere and the whole night Brendan and the team looked after us very attentively. Highly recommend!!!!

2022-03-03I work right around the corner and frequent Hardings. We have used them for work events, as well as a spot to bring clients. Their service is INCREDIBLE and their food is even better. My favorites are their sliders, steak skewers, fig toast and chocolate chip cookies. The bar tenders are very professional and the entire ambiance is warm, inviting and fun.

2020-10-12Harding’s is a spirited pub that serves some very decent food. The inside design creates has a great classic bar feel and there is outside dining. I was impressed with the quality of the food and ordered the beef short rib. It was tender as you would expect and service was efficient. Servers paired the short rib well with a class of cabernet. Rather than my preferred one large ice cube the old fashion had smaller cubes of ice, but still balanced old fashion flavor.

2022-06-24Possibly my favorite restaurant in the city. Steak and sweet potato fries are to die for - service also great, kitchen open late. Have been back many times and will continue.

2018-11-15Great bar and night scene. The later it gets, the busier. The bar itself has a huge hanging out space so youre not on top of one another. Very chill vibe and can be a romantic spot if you choose (albeit a little loud between the music and people). Perfect for an after work get together or a night out. The dining room is very spacious as well, theres even a second floor spot for a private group if needed. Must try the grilled octopus and cheese plate. Generous portions to boot.

2018-05-03We visited the restaurant for a wedding and were really impressed with the quality of the food. From the finger food to the mains everything was absolutely amazing. We also really appreciated that we were given a choice of meals rather then just given meals at random which has happened at most weddings in the past.

2019-09-18Great find! Looks like a small hole-in-the-wall from outside, but inside its spacious and classy. Food was delicious, everything we had including the drinks was a home run. Service was also excellent. Will certainly be returning!

2019-09-07What a terrific find this was. It is off the beaten path, but really terrific food.the short rib beef burger is absolutely terrific, hit it with the bacon and avocado. The presentation on the steaks were as good as the steaks themselves. Great decor and ambiance!
