I went here to get a booster shot of COVID vaccine. This is the worst organized healthcare place I’ve seen. The personnel is nice and friendly, but the organization is terrible. I’ve filled out all the information and signed all the forms using NYC Health + Hospitals app prior to going there. Even though I had scheduled my appointment, upon arrival there was a half hour long line outside the hospital, just to get in. After waiting on that line I was told I couldn’t get my booster shot because I didn’t have physical CDC card on me, and my electronic vaccination record, Excelsior pass or a picture of CDC card were not enough. They suggested I go to a pharmacy across the street to get a printout of the CDC card from a picture on my phone. I couldn’t believe my ears. The pharmacy owner was kind enough to allow me to use his copy machine to print out the picture of the CDC card. Only then I was allowed to get the booster dose of the vaccine. It still took another hour of waiting and filling out more forms, even though I had filled the forms prior to my appointment. Compare this experience with the first two doses I got at Weill Cornell, where everything was organized perfectly. I very much hope I never have to get any care from this center again.
That was the nastiest most filthy hospital I have ever been in.I got my first red flag when the girl behind the bullet proof was eating chips and ignoring me.Who eats at take I. During pandemic. She touched ID’S people, paperwork all the while eating chips. That’s filthy and irresponsible.Next the put an needle in my arm and just left there for hours the IV wasn’t even hooked upSo I wait and wait when I heard an elderly screaming and crying. “Help me help me constantly for an hour the aid just told him to shut upMy bed wasn’t made so I ask if I could get a sheet. They gave me one with about 90filthy blood stains on themThem the worst happening started eyes swelled up my face started dropping. I told the nurse she told that she could give me pain meds and I could come back tomorrowWhat, are you serious?!I called a friend of mine who use the standard of healthcare and told to go to Mount Sinai.And. One to find out I had three aneurisms that hemorrhagesI could have laid there and died at that filthy Harlem hospitalMount Sinai was beautiful and clean. I’m Now thats the level of health care I am accustomed used to in my life.
Took nearly 4 hours to get a covid-19 test. Pre-registration does nothing and the line management was extremely poor. Registration takes forever, you would have thought you were taking out a mortgage. People were allowed to walk directly in ahead of people who had been waiting in line for hours and get a test because no one was checking or managing the line. The tech that did the test was great but not enough to salvage this terrible experience. Go somewhere else if you need a test.
So I appreciate their trying however they need to be more honest about the COVID-19 testing times. It is a great tool if it’s true! The online wait times took said 0-30 minutes so I got in a taxi. Well the hospital is on 135th st the LINE went to 137th St. I arrived at 9:19am I left at 12:05pm! 2 1/2 hours outside in 25 degree weather. It was horrible. Just please be honest. People need to know they will be outside in the elements on a very long line. Another thing they take lunch at the same time 12-1pm. Not a staggered schedule. And for some reason 3 men apparently from the mayors office cut the line went right inside up to the window and said we’re from the mayors office they got their paperwork and went right in to be tested. Not fair to the others who waited hours in the cold! Shame on you for using your position that way and shame on the hospital for allowing them to do it.
I can see why this hospital is rated so poorly! My wife’s mother has been there for one week and three days. Release forms were signed before 5 p.m. today (12/21/2021) and they are still there and it’s almost 9 p.m. Now waiting for a wheelchair having to take a cab? They were promised to be transported via ambulance? Their excuse for keeping her there additional days was because the physical therapy had to be scheduled. As of now, that hasn’t been done either. Who is running this hospital??? The incompetence!!!! 13th Floor!!! Stay tuned!!!!
If I ever return to Harlem to live this time, it would use this hospital. It was good to me, and I like Dr. Olutoyin Alabi. I was blessed to have her as my physician. And the other physician who did my IR surgery for my fibroids. He was cool(cant remember his name at the moment). Finally, a lady who did my Ultrasound, but I never got her name. Why I gave 3 stars is for the waiting times, even with an appointment, and staff(not very nice). Overall, its not a fancy hospital, because other NYC hospitals are about popularity. Whats more, Harlem Hospital was convenient; I can get most things done in one place(just different floors and different hospital departments surrounding the building).
This hospital is the worst hospital as far as how they treat you I gave birth her even tho my doctor was amazing as far as his work he was rude as hell and so was my nurse I will never ever recommend this hospital to anyone horrible emergency room just super unprofessional and rude
I was denied a covid booster because I brought my Excelsior Pass instead of the actual card. There is no mention of this on any site, tweet,or the confirmation email sent . Took the afternoon off and 2 cab rides and luckily on 45 minutes on line before I decided to ask after a nice officer told me this might happen. Not hesitant but turned away. Good staff bad system.
This was one of the most horrible experiences Ive ever had in my life and Im 70 years old , no kind of service whatsoever after 5 hours I was moved to a room nurses wouldnt leave the nursing station ever no housekeeping services nothing was done the food was tasteless but the most important thing I want you to please please remember I got no care from anyone there......
My mom worked there for 30 years as a doctor and I can tell you she felt completely overworked her as her colleagues. There was tons of turnover for doctors and often she felt treated like a factory worker. As an example, She had to threaten to quit to take time off for my wedding in 2017 when she asked for time off 6 months in advance for it. . I am a physician as are my whole family and it makes me wonder if they treat the docs like this, how are the patients treated. I have never heard a place treating their docs so badly. It is the example of what happens when administrators take over medicine in my opinion.
I was left in a cold room for over an hour waiting for a test to be done. I asked the Doctors how long was I going to be waiting and he said he had a Patient with an issue. I was asked to wait, yet he could not say how much longer I would have to wait. Then gave me attitude and said well its your health...reallyclearly my health is in poor hands. I will never have any testing done here again.
I’m experience a really hard time to speak to anyone they never pickup the phone I do not get a call back from social workers or doctorsMy Aunt is in that hospital right now she can help her self is a really bad situationWhen I go there no one is to be found to speak to.
If you are in pain, just go to Presbyterian. I was given a more painful experience than what I had initially went for. It has been 2 days and while the pain from my hard fall is practically gone, the pain from the roughness of the nurses is my main issue now. Tmi: I can hardly walk just from the pain of a vaginal exam (they give to pregnant patients). Honestly, some of the staff nurses were nice but it wasnt worth the emergency to go there. Im not okay
I called for information on a mental health issue and I was told “IM NOT A DOCTOR”. Simply asking if someone should come to the ER or schedule an appt. Disgusting bedside manner esp for someone working in the MENTAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT??? Disgusting that this the care the black community receives here in Harlem. I’ll make the trip to literally anywhere else .
The dental department is absolutely remarkable. From the surgeons, to the dental staff to the nurses. Amazing! I had to get a lot of surgery in my mouth and I was really nervous. Not only did they make sure I was comfortable but they calmed me down and talked me through everything beforehand and just overall were amazing and cared a lot. I would recommend anyone to go! Beautiful people working there! Also, when my mouth first started hurting I learned that you can just walk in with no appointment for a consult/removal to this department. I thought it was going to be a crazy long wait but I was in and out very quickly and the options given for a surgery date were either next day or in a week. So no long wait at all.Hospital is clean and staff is great! 10/10Thank you for your service ❤️❤️❤️❤️
It’s not Harlem Hospital it’s the people who work there and bring their nasty attitude with them to work. The Director need to send a uncover person acting like a patient and see how people are being treated nobody answers the call like bell at night and some of ER tech used the B/P machine stop blood flow in my hand and starting feeling pain. I had pulled the B/P cuff off .not even a animal should be treated like this 😤
I would say 5 stars but I want people to know this dentist is clean and fast got there at 8:43 as a walk in and it was packed. I went in for tooth extraction my wait was no longer then 20 minutes I got x trays and immediately moved to next room for Surgery. Dr.Peoples had relaxing music playing already before I entered the room. I was so scared and nervous . He was very understanding and cautious & delicate. & before you know it the tooth was out. I Appreciate the care that I received today .Fantastic Job
I have my mother in the ICU. Few doctors and nurses are nice, but some of them are very rude. They don’t know how to talk in a nice manner. I try to ask a doctor a question regarding my mother’s condition and he replied “what’s up” like he didn’t want to be bother. This people need better training. They need to remember that they’re treating human beings, not robots. They need to show more compassion, and more empathy.
I went to visit a friend today who had contracted MRSA, a highly contagious bacterial infection. I wanted to see and support him but I also wanted to stay safe. I asked the front receptionist if I could have a pair of gloves. She replied everything would be provided for on the patient floor. As I approached my friends room, I asked the nurse sitting just outside for a pair of gloves. She replied no as he was not in isolation yet.Strange, I thought.I stayed for an hour and was happy my friend was doing much better. He was in a lot of pain from the surgery but he was feeling stronger. I left as they were moving him into isolation. As I left the hospital, I couldnt help but think the hospital had dropped the ball. Here was a patient with a contagious disease, yet they refused to give me any protective gear and not once did they speak to me, even to tell me not to hug him or even to wash my hands after.
This hospital is the most unorganized, unhelpful place I have ever received care. Long story short, the MRI department is not allowed to schedule an appointment without authorization, and the billing department is not able to ask for authorization unless there is an appointment on the schedule. I was given the runaround waiting for a brain MRI for over a week, and there still has been no progress. Their phone system is impossible to navigate, and in-person is no better. Last week I spent over two hours at the hospital trying to get an urgent appointment, however no one would speak to me and they kept telling me it wasn’t severe even though they didn’t have access to my full chart or medical information. I have received none of the follow-up calls that I was promised, and their system is so disorganized I am not even surprised. Save yourself your sanity and receive treatment elsewhere.
I hope this reaches the right person because this employee deserves all the recognition and more for her amazing service. This is in recognition of Jennifer (I believe she told her last name begins with an A.) who works in the Covid Vaccine Center at this facility.I encountered Jennifer during my second vaccine dose on May 29th. Before hand I needed to reschedule my original appointment date and Jennifer went above and beyond to schedule me For May 29th.When I arrived upstairs, Jennifer was at the front and greeted me promptly. She answered all my questions clearly despite multitasking as there was also a Hispanic family that she needed to translate for.She made the experience absolutely flawless and compared to most who worked in the area she was incredibly helpful and friendly. Her friendly demeanor and approach really helped calm my anxiety and worries about the second dose.Jennifer was a shining bright light of what customer service should be. Friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. It’s something I’ve rarely encountered at this location and other hospitals.I certainly hope this young woman is recognized for her amazing service!
So the first time I came in I arrived and was told the doctor wasn’t in and the nurses would call to reschedule. That never happened. This is the second time I have come to my doctor. I have waited two hours and haven’t seen my doctor at all. I have never experienced this before. Atrocious. If you come here expect to spend at half the day for an appointment that only takes 30 mins. Also: came in for a procedure, they told me to come back and a doctor would look at it and take care of it. Took time off of work, waited an hour in the waiting room, paid the copay. Only for the doctor to tell me when he was finally able to, that what I needed done, what THEY TOLD ME TO COME BACK FOR wasn’t a service offered and I couldn’t be helped. Absolutely unbelievable. No apologies from anyone and complete waste of time and money.
I went to Harlem Hospital this evening for my first COVID vaccine and want to commend the kind, thorough, totally professional and on-it staff. I was in and out in under an hour. They are clearly handling a large volume of patients daily, but everyone I encountered was good-humored and made the experience pleasant and calm.
UPDATE #2: Im changing it back to four stars. Why? Because, today, I received a very kind, personal, and hand-written, letter from the CEO. The letter was so kind, it made my eyes water.UPDATE: Changing from 4 stars to 1. Wrote CEO, and the city. Not one response! Not only that, a woman from their finance department (Matellis) told the nice clerk in guest relations that because of my insurance, I was not going to be reimbursed, and that I dont need further explanation. Matellis arrogance has a nasty stench! What has my insurance got to do with their staff cancelling our appointment and not informing us of that cancellation? Reminds me of the saying The patients run the asylum. A lot of Harlem Hospital staff wont use their medical services. Instead, they use other hospitals. About 15 years ago, several Harlemites told me if they ever had an emergency, and I took them to Harlem Hospital, they would die and come back to haunt me. Why? Im beginning to understand why (Im a slow learner at times). Tolerating these awful experiences-that come from the staff-not the doctors. Its the bad employees that are apparently following in the footsteps of their leadership; knowing they wont do anything about appointment cancellations. I feel horrible for that elderly couple, because I told her to write to the CEO of Harlem Hospital, and that they would do something about these uninformed cancellations. She said they wouldnt. I kindly stated they would. She was right. I thought the hospital would be professional and rectify their mistake. I was so wrong. Im waiting to see that lady again, apologize to her, then take my elderly mother to a more professional, medical facility, where they do care about their mistakes. END OF UPDATE.For the third time, they cancelled an appointment but didnt inform us. Really worse for another very, elderly couple and the wife had to push her husband in a wheelchair. This time, I complained to Guest Relations, asking for reimbursement of our transportation. They called and asked for details. That was last Wednesday. Glad they responded immediately. Havent heard anything since. If I dont hear back soon, Ill write the CEO.
I just got my first Covid vaccine and I want to say THANK YOU! to all the staff My nurse, her assistant and everyone involved. They were all professional and caring. Covid protocols were enforced regularly. They also gave me a little kit with all I need when out of home to protect against covid or to disinfect my hands or surfaces. Looking forward to getting my second dose. 10/10
If you are in any type of pain de Not , i repeat don’t go to Harlem hospital because they are extremely slow. I came to get my tooth removed since 10:50am and it’s 2:49pm. I am still in the waiting area. Someone came and called my name and before I got up he disappeared and they are making me wait another hour. The only reason I came here was to get my tooth removed because it is hurting and the fact that they got me sitiing for 5 hours is insane, pathetic and sad. I am disgusted 🤮
Today I experience the most caring, concern and customer services oriented services any hospit had ever provided. The husband of a friend had bariatric surgery. She was very concerned about not being able to see her husband. I suggested we should call and ask if it could be possible. After being transferred around trying to locate the patient. We were finally able to locate him. The hours of visitation had passed but the person who answer the phone reassure me that she will call downstairs to allow access to my friend into the building. After numerous attempts she was denied entrance. I decided to call and told her not to leave as she was crying for not being able to see her husband. She. I. Allied back the receptionist at the guest relations number remember that I had called as. Offer to call upstairs and to security to make sure my friend made it. I felt a sense of satisfaction because it’s very rare when you see employees at hospital going out of their way and being emphatic about visiting and concern. I definitely will give the workers on the 12th floor and the receptions KUDOS! For such an excellent service.
It’s summer 2021 and they still don’t let fathers into ultrasound sessions with expecting mothers even if you’re fully vaccinated and wearing a mask. Even though the staff themselves were walking around with their masks down. This place is ghetto and ran by monkeys with attitudes.
I was not a patient so the stars awarded are not appropriate. But I was interested to see that when I walked in women and children went to one side and men to the other. It may be I was so tired that I got it wrong. But I wondered if this had any historical significance. I was a visitor because I have been an anti disease and science campaigner since late 2012 and wondered if there was anyone I could talk to. It seems obvious that the diseases were invented as policy instruments during peacetime and I have spent some time trying to write a proof that includes proving that microscopes dont work. I would be happy to answer any questions but to me it seems completely obvious once it occurs to you that of course they are fictions - invading local tissue, distant organs, x-ray photos, etc. I found the hospital because I went to the dentists across the road as I had no insurance and it was cheap and it did provide a temporary solution! I was a visitor from London, UK, but hope to visit again in the not too distant future.
My daughter is thinking about doing an internship here. So I decided to look up the hospital. The reviews here are useful.I thank whoever took the time to write a review. But we all have to think big! This is your neighborhood! Make it right. Patient relations have to file all your complaints. Tell them you want a copy of your complaint. Ask who will be getting back to you about the incident. Right names, times and dates of people you spoke to. Hospitals get grades. They lose fundings if grades are low. Fight back. Follow through until you get a higher up. Hospital administrators answer you. People should be held responsible for poor patient care. When people are at their weakest, workers want to be rude. Unnecessary!Best of luck everyone and best of health to all
This review is for covid testing. Place opens at 8. We arrived at 7:30 and there were 8 people in front of us. The location is priority testing for DOE and other city workers. When they opened at 8 they allowed those people to move to the front and form a different line. They allow about 12 people in at a time so you’re not out in the cold the entire time. By 8:50 we were tested and out.
This is the worse hospital some nurses and docs are polite love it BUT as i was going to get an xray done my child had to come with me due to noone being abel to care for him now the front desk nurse stated she can leave her child but im not responsible for whatever happens some of these nurses are extremely rude worse than lincoln hospital never will i get treated here and they had misdiagnosed me 4weeks prior to this visit smh WORSE HOSPITAL
It was horrible, just horrible. My mom had gotten surgery and they were treating her as if she just scraped her elbow and thats all. I called a nurse for a robe and sheets change about 4-5 times and they finally payed attention after I became really upset and so did my mom. That was about 1 hr later after I told the first person that we needed assistance. Everyone but the main people like the doctors and the surgeons are very very unprofessional. And lets not leave out the person at the front desk. He kept saying that my moms name wasnt in the system and being very rude as if I didnt know what I was talking about. Making sure I dont come here again. Even the person my mother shared a room with was very rude to me, if I can give 0 stars out of 5 I would.
Such a horrible hospital. I am a 11 weeks pregnant patient and this is my first child. I was told if I seen any blood or cramping to go to the hospital and that I should be treated Immediately I got here at 8:30 pm I waited 20 minutes just to see a registering nurse. I got to the back and they left me sitting in a corner for about 40 minutes. By the time I got to a room it was 10:04 pm. The room was disgusting! The was dirty alcohol wipes with blood on it on the floor in that room. I was just highly up set then I didn’t even have a bed by the time I got a bed it was 12:19pm. The staff is extremely slow I am a worried mom to be and I felt like nothing is being done fast enough for me to know if my baby is ok! and they left me uncomfortable for hours! Harlem hospital SUCKS!
This is specifically for Dentistry...I had 5 teeth extracted by Dr. King yesterday...this young guy is a miracle worker. I felt NO pain during the procedure and its a day later and still feel nothing. He was super cool and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. If you need teeth pulled get it by him!! :D
Spent 14 hours with no information, retelling the same information over and over and over again. Disrespectful nurse on the phone when asking for simple updates on our family member. Please choose a different hospital. I understand that covid is straining an unequipped hospital like this one, but just take a look at the reviews in pre-covid times. Let’s address this problem at the root — the hosptial’s infrastructure is in massive need of rehabilitation.
I grew up in this neighborhood. I live within walking distance of the hospital. After going to this hospital for over 15 years I have to say that its the worst. I hate it. If you are trying to get an appointment here, prepare to cancel your whole day. Prepare for late doctors. Prepare for rude desk ladies that get an attitude for even asking a simple question. Prepare to have staff dismissing you to other staff when they dont feel like helping you and then the next staff will do the same etc. This way you get passed around running in circles. They are so unprofessional and rude.
I gave birth in this place that’s not supposed to be called hospital really the worst. I was given the epidural 4 time and the Asian doctor told me that it can’t go through because I am too skinny and he is telling me don’t move while I was giving birth. And after I am done giving birth the nurses are arguing with me because they want to put me in a dirty room. If you love yourself don’t go there.
Harlem Hospital is a great hospital. As with all hospitals, there are good and bad drs. Even so I have seen people come in looking like they werent going to survive but who walked out. Not the same day but after being given the treatment they need. There are many caring dr, nurses, and staff. I know personally how good the care is here in Harlem Hospital. It continues to be my first choice when I visit NYC.
Literally just don’t even go here. I know your probably thinking “who reviews a hospital on google?”, well I do to save you an entire day of your life. No one who works here has any sense of time or urgency. Prepare to wait over an HOUR AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME to even get your vitals taken from a nurse. This place sucks, just schedule your appointment anywhere else. I promise the time of traveling to a different hospital will save you time in the long run.
Always had a good experience here. Been here 4 times for ER services. Never a long wait and not full to capacity so there were enough staff to accommodate my emergency needs. I was out in 3 hours last time and found out what I needed to know asap. Great doctors and nurses.
If you have never been to this hospital, please do not consider being cared for here. I must say that the entire hospital is filthy, including Labor and Delivery where you would think people would at least care about a newborns health and safety.I will be contacting the director, patient relations and the board of health. All of the staff, from housekeeping to the Doctors should be fired! This hospital is completely unacceptable and should be shut down.
Worst hospital ever! Longest wait times, not enough detailed information or confused staff. Very uneducated staff. They will kill you and your loved ones. They get attitudes when you ask questions & when you have a brain of your own. They don’t care for you nor respect patients. Very dirty with homeless all over. Staff always talking but no working !!
This hospital is filthy. The walls are visibly dirty. The staff is completely uninformed with no knowledge of their own practices and procedures. There is absolutley no sense of urgency for emergency services. None of the customer service windows are staffed. I waited an half an hour and no one came to the window. I had to explore the hospital for help because the guard was unable to direct me. The guard was the most helpful person there.
If you want to die from waiting or die from malpractice go here, and let these quacks harvest your organs. I don’t know how this place is still open. A disgrace to the medical field. Shut this place down and change the entire staff. They barely speak English, not the receptionist or the cleaning crew, the so called doctors and nurses. What is this foreign exchange school? Presbyterian or mount Sinai is where You want to go.
This institution has not taken good care of my mother. All she has been continuously receiving from the nurses were various injections for her stomach and headache issues that are only temporary. Not 1 doctor has decided to take proper measures to heal her to this day, it sickens me. Whenever she begins to feel even a lil better, my mom experiences discomfort and pain soon after. This is due to whatever the nurses were giving her, I was told. I can go on and on and on about this subject, but Ill end things here to help someone reading this get a sense of what to expect from HH...
Horrible! My relative was placed at the emergency wing but no doctor had attended to her in the two almost three hours she had been there. She was in a lot of pain and laying there suffering even walking was hard. Not even a nurse checking on her. Horrible experience if she had died what would they have said? So wrong in so many ways.I will never return to such a hospital ever again.
First time going to this emergency room and I was pleasantly surprised with how well My family was treated. I’ve steered clear of this hospital because of bad reviews but tonight my infant son was very sick so I hopped in a cab to the nearest hospital. Within two minutes we were in triage in less than 3 minutes we were in a room I had to rush through paper work because they were ready for me. My son was treated the same way he’s been treated at weill cornell but at a public hospital and it was amazing. High quality care and attention. I will now be switching here permanently. Even the security guards were super nice.
Don’t come here for prenatal care!I came here January 2nd to have my “first” prenatal appointment. All they did was have me pee in a cup, put a test into the urine and say “you’re pregnant”... well no duh I could have told you that from the dozen tests I’ve taken in the past two weeks (I waited till I was 8 weeks to be seen as I have a history of early miscarriage). They scheduled my first actual appointment for two weeks later, despite the fact that I was high risk and would most likely need progesterone if I wanted to remain pregnant.I came in for my appointment two weeks later and was told that they DID NOT take my insurance, the same insurance I had at my first appointment. I explained that I was high risk and asked why no one bothered to say anything about my insurance at my first appointment... they had no answer. Their recommendation (despite my offer to pay out of pocket, to which they declined) was for my to switch insurance companies and come back next month after the new policy starts. Christ... (Note: I’m 12 weeks pregnant at this point.I switch insurance companies and come back a month later (now 16 weeks pregnant). The appointment, from arrival to getting to see a doctor, takes THREE HOURS. During this time I meet with multiple people who push me to 1) opt for a natural birth 2) opt to breast feed 3) sign up for a doula 4) sign up for WIC (I’m not on Medicaid nor qualified for WIC) and they also have me meet with a social worker (the hell...?) who asks me questions about my home life. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m pro all these things but when I said I would opt for that but be open to c sections, formula, etc. should the preferred route not work out, I was given a very stern lecture about what is and is not best for my child. The f...?Finally I get to see the doctor! Oh wait, they are too busy and I get to be seen by a non-ob physician who is helping out for the day... great. The doctor was actually very nice, gave me a Pap smear and listen to the baby’s heartbeat. The doctor sympathized with me and actually gave me a folded up piece of paper with OBGYN recommendations for care somewhere else lol. I asked for an ultrasound to confirm the viability and make sure the fetus is not ectopic to which I am told that they do not do any ultrasound till past 18 weeks. That’s a huge liability! The appointment ends with me getting blood drawn and the phlebotomist complaining that I did not share my rice crispy treat with her (I get light headed and need sugar or I’ll pass out from a blood draw).I finally left the hospital at 4:30 pm... my appointment had been scheduled for noon and I was not seen till 3 pm. Apparently people who go here for care do not work or have anything to do besides sit around for three hours.A month later (20 weeks pregnant) I finally get my anatomy scan (FIRST ULTRASOUND AT 20 WEEKS!!!!! Highly unusual.) Luckily, the ultrasound tech was amazing and the machiene was the BEST and gave the most clear ultrasound images I’ve ever seen! Note: As I write this I’m now 32 weeks and have now had ultrasounds at 4 different places and Harlem was the BEST image wise!)The odd thing though was that the tech was also pregnant and I asked where she was having her baby and she responded with a hospital in the Bronx (maybe two miles away). Now, if I worked in a hospital and knew the doctors and facilities well and insurance isn’t a factor (Harlem takes practically everything except Empire) then why would I have my baby somewhere else?I got my pretty pretty pictures and found a different doctor!A week later I saw my doctor at Advantage Care Physicians on the UES (Lenox Hill for Labor and Delivery). I also submitted release forms for Harlem to send my files and tests to my new doctor. After numerous requests being ignored, my doctor got tired of waiting for Harlem to release my files (it’s literally a 5 minute process done via fax) so I had to re do every single test and procedure I had done at Harlem for my prenatal care. THANKS HARLEM HOSPITAL FOR BEING A HUGE PAIN IN MY BUTT!
I still cant make my daughter dentist appointment. For 4 months it has been either no answer or The doctor will call you with a date and time..... soooooo it takes over 4 months. Ive tried every month for 4 months and it is the same. I hate switching things but if I have to switch her dental Im switching her medical Doctor as well. Im not going all over the city fto 3 different clinics. You definitely need better services.
I was a patient at this hospital many times and I regret coming here but I did my weight loss surgery here so I thought the best thing to do is to come here for everything else I have to do because they know me... But its so sad to say this is the worst hospital I been too. I am no longer coming here even if I am dying. I appreciate all the work people in this hospital have done for me but it needs to change. When you are here it feels like am bothering employees to help me do their jobs. Some of the staff take this job as a job not as a career. I was in the 11th floor they are under staff and they have to pull double shifts. That will make a person in this place really upset. At night this place looks like a horror film. You can hear screams for nurse assistance. All the nurse feel that they are rushed. They become very aggressive when you try to ask them for ICE. Imagine you have to ask for medicine. If you have fluid drains from surgery learn how to work with them before you come here the lack of attention without draining them will get them clogged. If this happens and it happend to me you will have to for to ER and you will have to wait 6 hours because they dont it. They have to wait for a surgeon to try to unclog the problem. The ER is a very special place where they love to pass patients around like musical chairs to many different departments. I spend 4 hours in the bed and nothing is happening lots of staff need some training in some customer service and some need to learn how to be human instead of robots. There is so much gossip in the ER they should have their own show. There is a big issue with the beds. They deflate all the time.. Also if the patient is or was a bariatric weight loss patient please please get that person a better bed and all ready his meals should be low calorie diet. The food at this hospital is worst then at a homeless shelter. I never felt comfortable not one Bit here.. I spoke with a lady that works with patients to help with patients needs and concerns. This didnt help at all... Everyone here knows the problem but give it a blind eye. No one is looking for a solution to help the problem... its sad that 90% of the staff is here for a pay check. Take this info how the reader likes but this hospital needs to change and many patients need to change also. We all can be better people if we try. I am happy to say I will no longer come to this hospital and I been through a tough time. Remember Harlem hospital we dont want you to be a friendly hospital we want you to help people get better with a professional attitude.
Im sooo sad this big giant place that is supposed to take care of human beings and there health is such a disorganized, chaotic, messed up place. I dont know who recruits its worker and where do they train them from but they need to be all retrained on efficiency, patient care accuracy, abilitizing care and patient care time management.I have gone here for 20 years. Two years ago I had hope it was going to be better after it was revamped but they fell right back to their usual mediocre performance.1) All humans are equal and all deserve care when they arrive at this hospital.2) Do not give anyone less care than other because of insurance specially when they arrive in ambulance care and cant walk.3) People are the one with pain coming to you. If you dont know or can diagnose them because you are not a good doctor let another doctor take care of them4) When people come to you with excrutiating pain then should never leave with that excrutiating pain.5) You must correctly diagnose and address all complaints of pain the patient has and not 3 out of her 5 pain complaints.6) No one comes to the hospital to find out what they dont have that cause pain but what they are going through right now to be found and immediatly fixed if possible or if impossible find an issue management medium to immediately apply to make their condition better.7) A doctor doesnt have the right to force a patient with excrutiating pain to leave the hospital because they are leaving and their shift was over. They dont need to intimidate a patient they arent helping and Dr. Nga QLai you are out of your boundaries and out of line 😡. I did not appreciate that and you for your mediocre care. I came with an inflammated knee and this hospital lived me in ER for 10 hrs, no water, no food, no iv. Im not a Dr but I know thats not ok.Then after findings out my inflammated knee and lack of ability to walk you did not even provide anti inflammatory care of any sort. How Im going to walk if my knee is inflammated. She was there arguing with me that I was able to pee in bathroom so I can walk and need to go. While a wheel chair was moving me to the er and the bathroom.Because I pee then my excruciating pain is no exsistant? What is wrong with this woman. Do I come to this ER to be challenged how long I can stand on my feet in major pain that is having the two bones grinding at each other. And because I sucked the pain for a second to use the bathroom therefore I should suck it to walk all day? Is this what I got to do instead of you the Doctor who s supposed to take care of my knee to do your job and give me a damn anti inflammatory shot on my kneee or medicine?8) The first nurse who took me in bumped my leg on the wall while wheeling the wheel chair and the 2nd nurse was telling me I just got there 5mn ago to be patient while I was left on hallway waiting for a good 30mn. Then she is saying they will do this and that like she was not the nurse in charge of giving me iv, taking my blood and stuff. She did nothing beside the first intend to assist but really didnt assist. I passed out with pain and they didnt even noticed. I waked up crying suddently when a random Doctor came to me banging on my leg thats hurting asking me whats wrong? Lol I could not speak I screamed so hard for the pain of her banging on my leg that hurt. Apparently she has no damn clue. Then the nurse and other Doctor both started yelling. I m here now and you are not speaking Im leaving and left and the nurse was like I brought her but you didnt want help. And all this in few second while I was screaming trying to catch my breath from the doctor banking on my tender leg. Then some guy came while I was crying and made me sign 3 documents I have no clue what its about or dont even have the brain power to understand then.I am very upset at these workers this hospital need to retrain, taught compassion, common sense, how to do their jobs efficiently, properly read chart for what is wrong with a patient and predict not to bang whats wrong ( knee)
I went to the dentist building to get my wisdom teeth extracted one was impacted and near a nerve however they were very careful , they explained to me every step and gave me all the information I needed & the wisdom teeth extraction went very well and they were able to do their job . Sedation went well & so did the recovery & my teeth do not hurt as much as they did when I extracted the other two wisdom teeth at a clinic . Overall 5 starts y’all deserve it great job great team 💯
They misdiagnosed twice then discharge me. Left worst because the misdiagnosed me and gave me medicine that I made my condition worst. (Being more explicit they told me Tylenol was all I needed). Rude nurses and the price of the bill doesnt line with the level of care youll receive. Any other hospital is better. If I didnt go to another hospital, because I know my body, I would have been a potentially dangerous and maybe fatal situation.
I BEG you Mothers to be Please DONT give birth here the worst experience ever. I had a c-section and they put me in a shared room, the only thing separating the other mother and myself was a very thin curtain the other mother did not have a C-section. my baby was born with a umbilical cord hernia and Polydactyly this was something i never experienced before i needed a comfortable quite peaceful space to think i got the complete opposite. the other mother i shared a room with had lots of loud family coming in and out visitors off the street using the same barthtoom thats in the room.they were celebrating. being that every women birthing experience is different i should have not been exposed to that atmosphere.screaming yelling and laughing is not what someone who has just been cut open wants to hear. I did not get a private shower it was shower stalls like a locker room. Nurses or doctors didnt have me on a pain medication schedule. they handled my new born really rough I to raise my voice twice and say hey be gentle when making they rounds to check your blood pressure the worst part very rude workers. nothing was explained to me about my experience and what I can expect before hand. Harlem hospital has some type of weird policy in place to where you can ONLY feed your baby Similac if your baby stomach doesnt agree with Similac and your milk has not come in like mine did your baby will starve in till discharged because no other Brand of baby formula is Allowed inside of Birthing unit but Similac. they have extremely nice rooms for women who just gave birth as they should. I was in the recovery room after surgery. a day later I was moved to a different room In a another section of the hospital the hospital I was in began to look completely different it went from nice clean walls with picture frames to Project hallways omg this could not be the same hospital I was disgusted that this would be the scenery and atmosphere for mothers who had just given birth. i literary felt like I was in a jail birthing facility terrible and traumatizing. yes I asked to be moved, my friend saw nice top of line birthing room empty we was told it was no other rooms available. I guess the nice room was being held for a white pregnant lady gentrification has affected Harlem. it was a very heart breaking experience. giving birth is a special moment and HARLEM HOSPITAL turned my special moment into a night mere. I will never forget.
Worse hospital ever. I was admitted and it felt as if I was in a prison hospital its all old and looks scary the staff does nottttt care about you. You are on your own the nurses would walk right by you even though you pressed the damn button for their attention and wouldnt stop to ask if everything was ok. I had to get up a few times to ask for my pain killers. The food look like vomit did not eat once my family brought me my food. I was unconscious when I was taken there by the EMT I would of never allows them to take me to that hospital. Unorganized.
The children E.R nurses & doctors is great the adult e.r is ehh. I had a distal radius fracture around may 4th. I was given a shot for pain 30mins after getting a room; a temporary splint was put on not so good & had to come back in 3 days to see an ortho doc to schedule for surgery i was told. I immediately went to NY Presbyterian and was given tylenol while waiting for a room in about 40min between the time i checked in & got a room / did xray the doctors was doing a closed reduction. Now i am blowing physical therapy out of the water. Harlem Hospital would be a good hospital with the right nurses and doctors whose really about that action & not just the money. I give Harlem Hospital specifically (Ron brown building) 3 stars because of my sons pediatrician Dr.Aubey & 1 of the receptionist from peds. 1 of the nurses who draws my sons blood. My obgyn Dr.campbell, Sandey from Health first, & the ladies from WIC & security guards.
I went to the e/r on the hospitals second day of reopening. I received.care immediately for my injury aside from the quick paperwork process. Reception and staff were polite and cheery and definitely made me feel comfortable in the nervous painful state I was in. Security is on point for sure. They aint playing! Upon my follow up visit, again, no long wait. Some nurses and assistants need to try harder in pronunciating names and need to turn it up a notch or two for deafies like me. Reception in the part I visited need to brush up on or be taught to inform appointed patients what to do when given paperwork that should go to the reception so that they will be assured their name is recognized and will be called. If I hadnt asked about the paper given to me, I wouldve been sitting unseen for the day because said paper was needed for check in....Other than that, its a beautiful hospital, I like it.
I took my daughter to pediatrics tonight and just to start off I woukd never come here again. The only friendly staff was the triage nurse and the front clerks. This one specific doctor urked my nerves by saying my own daughter doesnt like me because she was crying inevitability while I was holding her. She seemed disturbed by my childs crying. Not friendly at all for a pediatric setting. The CNA was very rude and was on her phone while cleaning the room. This will be my first and last visit. Waste of money!!! And not to forget, I waited 1 hour to be first seen and it was not busy.
Sadly, I had a taste of the rudeness over the phone. I am a case worker at another company. I called to confirm a patients attendance and was talked to as if I were someone in the street. I called to speak with a doctor and she was very loud. I asked her a simple question and she was very unprofessional. I can only imagine what the patient have to face.
Theee WORST PLACE where there are no community relations as far as culture goes. They are not in tune with the neighborhood. Foreign staff that need cultural appreciation other than their own. My personal story will bring tears to anyone’s eyes. I was in a fire and was displaced in a shelter. I was born in this hospital. I lived in Harlem all my life. I have WORKED for this hospital (took 6 weeks to pay my first paycheck and I worked in BILLING) anyway, I had to go to the ER days after to get X-ray from fractures that I didn’t know I had. My son had to be with me because I had no one to care for him and we were homeless. At 12 midnight I was called in to get my X-ray. By then my 8 year old fell asleep and I had to awaken him. He is a deep sleeper who also goes into sleep walking states. I nudged him by way of firm pats on his back and a Cambodian nurse mistook it as abuse. Instead of ASSISTING ME TO LET ME TAKE MY X-RAYS AND LEAVING HIM ASSISTED ASLEEP WITH A NURSE she calls the POLICE AND SAID I WAS ABUSING MY BABY!!!!!!! 😩😤🤥. The hospital police along with the 32nd precent rushed in, snatched my son , choked me and arrested me and I was detained for 4 days! In central booking. I was already homeless from a fire. My car was rampaged through and out by police from the 32nd precent. My son was given to a couple who promised to care for him. I barely even knew them. ACS never knew and issued a Amber alert on ME while I’m in jail!!!!!!’ After going to bookings I suffered more trauma unthinkable. No one was there to help. I almost lost custody of my son. The courts put me through hell. The school was notified and I had an order of protection for waking up my poor son who was exhausted already from a fire. I will never forget. I will die before I go back to that place. That African man who is the director of the ER played like he was understanding and would help only to be a con and turn me in. He should have seen it was a misunderstanding by a nurse who already had a disgusting attitude. My pain was real n she showed no empathy or compassion. To her I was just another homeless person rolling into the ER faking pain. Don’t go here. They are prejudice towards the neighborhood that feeds them. One star is too much. Rather need fire flames to rate them. Only ratings that seem to be happy are the new residents of Harlem. Gentrification is REAL
Was forced to come here being that it was close to home. They placed me in 2 different sections before I was even seen. I was placed in a room where I was told “it should be clean”. The sheets had black skit marks and there was a cup filled with urine in the room. I was diagnosed before anything was taken from me just based on what my symptoms were. I blame the city for lack of funds. I should be able to walk into a local er and not worry about me not being taken care of
If its not an emergency: DO NOT GO THERE.Came in to the ER with a life-threatening allergy reaction last night. Whenever I was asked if I had any health issues, I always made sure to let them know I have Fibromyalgia. Dr. H, a lady, gives me a shot of dexamethasone sodium phosphate at 2AM Immediately after I had a pain flare up in every single inch of my body that is still persists until today 9PM, unfortunately I was told that she is not in today. Why would she give me that shot if she knew that muscle aches were one of the side effects? It seems to me that she did not paid attention to my records, which is unprofessional.Aside from that, I should point out that this is the dirtiest emergency room I have seen in my life.
Went to use their bathroom at opening times and the toilets had feces, blood and who knows what else all over, again I went at opening times so this had stayed overnight. Id probably be safer popping a squat on a stack of old needles than using these bathrooms. Is this supposed to be a sanitary hospital? Cause if not I got the message
I called Harlem Hospitals Dr. James E. McIntosh Dental Services Clinic on January 10, and was given a 10:00 am dental exam appointment for today, March 1, and a cleaning appointment for March 4 at 1:00 pm. I arrived, today, March 1, at around 9:55 am, and all necessary paperwork was completed and returned to the receptionist before 10:06 am. I returned to the counter at 11:30 am, an entire hour later, to inquire about when I would be seen, and the receptionist told me that she was uncertain. It is now 11:18 am, and I am still sitting in the waiting room, waiting to be seen. This is totally and completely unprofessional. Their lack of concern is intriguing and infuriating.
I have been coming to this hospital for 15yrs, only because its close to home. But it seems since the new hospital open they have really downgraded their services. You would think it be better but it just got worst. My husband broke his arm n they literally just put a strap to hold his arm up, give him shots of morphine and send him home like that with all that pain. 2wks later I went into emergency with abdominal pain, told them I had a miscarriage n dizzy spells. THEY DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BUT CHECK MY SUGAR AND URINE, AND SEND ME HOME. But when I went to St.Lukes hospital they found 2 things wrong with me. That is called medical negligence..
I went to this hospital today because I was suffering from a fever. I arrived at 9:30 am and I left 9:30pm. During that time, they gave me medication that you’re supposed to take with food. In about 20 minutes, my stomach hurts. I asked three people for food, one being my doctor, to no avail. This was a terrible experience and it will be my last time going to Harlem Hospital if I can help it.
I checked in the hospital about 8 oclock it was 1 oclock in the morning and I still havent seen the doctor yet. Just sitting there with a lot of pain in my left leg . To make it worse I had to use the bathroom almost every bathroom was filled with a homeless person just in the bathroom for hours and security couldnt do anything to get them out. Turd to make it worse they put me in a room with a homeless person which the room stunk so bad I ended up getting up and walking out I just couldnt bear this disgusting hospital which I would never come back to never in my life the staff are rude its just pure disgusting.
My great grandmother went there for pain issues. The doctor gave her some medication. A couple hours later, she began screaming due to the pain. A nurse came to her and told her to quiet down because she was disturbing the other clients. The doctor came and gave her another form of her medication. She later died. I miss her so much.
My mom is in the ER as i put this review... i live in a different state, so i cant do much... call the ER because she said her throat feels tight n she cant breath right. the person on the phone tells me what do i want her to do... then say well let me tell the nurse... but doesnt even ask for my moms name
I went to the emergency at Harlem Hospital on 12/8/16. I went there very afraid of what i was feeling and I am happy to say, from the lady at the front desk that admitted me to the nurses and aids that took care of me made the experience a good one, the doctor was kind and helped me to understand what was going on, this experience i will never forget. I left thanking everyone that was in my path, Thank you Harlem Hospital Emergency center.
I work in a doctors office in Delaware. I called the main line number to get a discharge report for a patient. I literally called, was placed on hold and then transferred to a different department/person x 5! Never have I ever had such terrible service with a medical facility!
It is horrific how terrible this hospital is. I would not recommend that ANYONE go to Harlem Hospital Center if they value their health. I am a type 1 diabetic and I went to HHC because my blood sugar had been consistently high for almost two days. Anyone with a basic knowledge about diabetes knows that this is a problem that can quickly turn into something VERY serious, like diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA). I went to HHC to try and prevent myself from going into DKA. After waiting in the ER for over 5 hours, they finally put me on a stretcher so I could rest while I waited to be admitted into the hospital. After ANOTHER 5 hours, they finally took steps to admit me. For some reason, the hospital has a policy where they confiscate your medications until you are discharged from the hospital. This meant that they took my insulin away from me... This entire time I had been the only one administering insulin to myself while monitoring my own blood sugar. They gave me breakfast before I was transferred to another floor. After I ate I knew I needed to take insulin but they had already taken mine away. I told a nurse. She did nothing. An hour after I ate and was transferred to another room, my blood sugar had reached 350 - the highest I had been in the past 48 hours - a number I was trying to avoid by going to HHC in the first place. I told the doctor and multiple nurses that I needed insulin and all they could do for me was tell me that they ordered insulin for me to take and I would have to wait. Finally, after 2 more hours, I decided that I needed to discharge myself against medical advice in order to take my own insulin and save my own life. The doctor and nurses were rude and attempted to guilt me into staying. A nurse convinced me to let her test my blood sugar before I left. She didnt tell me what it was until I had to ask her and she told me it was 340 - this is a medical impossibility because my body does not produce insulin and there could be no way the number could have come down. I tested my own blood sugar with my own meter - I was over 500. The nurse had either lied to me or their meter was not working - either way they were literally killing me as I stood there trying to save my own life. It took another hour for them to track down my medications and gather the paperwork for me to discharge myself but I thankfully got out of there.I was eventually able to stabilize my own blood sugar from home with vigilant testing and insulin injections. It is truly horrifying that HHC caused me to reach the point that I was trying to avoid by going there in the first place. I have never experienced anything like it in my entire life. A hospital is supposed to be a place where people feel safe and can go to heal. HHC is not one of these places. If you value your health, do not go to HHC. Please, reconsider another hospital before resorting to that nightmare of a hospital - they dont deserve the label - they almost killed me...
You guys at the emergency room ruined my day, I want in there to renue a prescription for hi blood pressure and never obtained it.Nobobu there had a sense of urgency , everyone took their sweet time.Eventually I left so so upset. Will never go backIll probably be getting a bill soon right??Then you will hear me for real!!!
Hello, i really liked this hospital but i see what other reviewers mean , i sat down asoon as i filled up my hospital form some guy was talking loud cursin and i couldnt relax for one second . The thing is some people in life dont have patient if i see a guy cursin talking loudly what is there to do ask politely will just make him angry or annoyed some people have issues problems that they cant control , what im trying to say is that i was patient enough and asoon as i walked inside where they treated me to get better i felt safe . i was realeased withing couple of hours because of my condition.
Warning- Do not participate in any clinical studies at this location without first getting payment OR getting a payment date in writing. Its been over a month since starting a PAID clinical study at this location and I have not been paid for my participation. Do not do it!
Ive been to a lot of public hospitals in multiple states and cities and I was pleasantly surprised how professional everyone was and how clean and organized the facilities were. And even with an ER visit in the middle of the night I was shocked out quickly I got in. Glad this is in my neighborhood.
Excellent! We came from St. Barnabas where the care was nonexistent (now that was horrible!) arriving at Harlem Hospital at around 2:00 in the morning, and a doctor and assistants, 6 people, came to the cab and helped my niece into a wheelchair. We left St. Barnabas at 2 am after being there for approximately 8 hours, my niece unable to walk. We left Harlem Hospital at 6:00 am, my niece walking out! Ill sing Harlem Hospitals praises; they were exemplary!
I almost died waiting to see a doctor for 8 hours! If im dying in an ambulance I will tell them to take me to Lennox Hill Hospital,l the care and professionalism are night and day! Very unprofessional....I had to curse the staff out after 8 hours of waiting to FINALLY see a doctor in the ER.
This is an awful facility. First off I went to their ER where half the staff obviously didnt want to be there. I returned for a follow up and needed some medication, good luck getting anyone on a phone, i spent and hour and a half and no one picks up.......talk about dangerous! Stay away from here!
This is one of the word hospitals ever. And I know what I m talking about. I have 12 years taking dialisys,my name is Carlos Jose peguero Santana. Now I m at emergency room since yesterday and is 3.56 pmand I just got a juice because I push.the costumer service is 0. The patient
The most slowest and laziest buffoons ever at the ronald brown building. The ladies gives you an attitude for asking questions. Youre there for a reason. Im talking about the upper floors. It takes 3-4 hrs for my mother to see her doctors. Even if shes a walk-in, its about 5 hrs.
Is there ANY hospital in NYC that will treat a person with dementia who abuses alcohol? Bellevue wont. After four days in detox, though clearly not fully detoxed, they released her. Harlem Hospital just proved they wont. They didnt even put her in detox. They released my Mom at 6:55am in the rain to walk home alone, even as she is stumbling still from being drunk, and experiencing delirium tremens!
THE FACT I EVEN HAVE TO ADD A STARR BEFORE MY REVIEW IS DEVESTAING BECAUSE THEY DONT EVEN DESERVE THAT TODAY APRIL 2ND OF 2018 ME AND MY WIFE WENT TO TAKE OUR 4 MONTH OLD BABY FOR HER SECOND SET OF SHOT , WE ARE A SAME SEX MARRIED COUPLE & ARE SAME SEX PARENTS THE NURSE WHO WAS VACCINATING OUR DAUGHTER WHOS NAME IS MS.FLOWERS FROM THE PEDIATRIC CLINIC , ASKED ME TO GO GET MY DAUGHTER DR FOR HER CAN VERIFY IF THEY ARE CORRECT , I GOES TO RETRIEVE THE DR WHEN I REACH BACK MS.FLOWERS VACCINATED MY DAUGHTER ALREADY NOT ONLY DID SHE NOT LET THE DR OVERSEA WHAT SHE NEEDED A SECOND OPINION FOR SHE WENT AHEAD AND VACCINATED MY DAUGHTER WHILE I WAS NOT PRESENT , WHEN I ASKED MS.FLOWERS WHY WOULD SHE VACCINATE MY DAUGHTER WHEN I LEAVE THE ROOM , SHE REPLIES WITH A SMILE AND TURNS TO MY WIFE AND ASKES ARENT YOU THE MOTHER ? AS IF WE HAVENT BEEN GOING THERE FOR THE PASS YEAR AS A SAME SEX FAMILY THIS HOSPITAL IS HORRIBLE VERY HORRIBLE THEY DISCRIMINATED AGAINST ME AN MY FAMILY THEY ARE NOT!!!!!!! LGTBQ FRIENDLY NORE DO THEY SUPPORT SAME SEX FAMILIES !
Terrible, made an appointment over the phone, went to the building I was told to go to, and when I got there a women said no doctors available, so you have to go next door. So I go next door to check in and the women at the desk said I had no appointment. For behavioral health services please go somewhere else.
The work are so slow, and the doctor name dessalines dervel she so rude, I have appointment yesterday, I arrive on time, on the second floor, and I was waiting for a the line to move, and went a get to reception she told me my appointment is to the 3 floor went a get there a was waiting again for a other big line a get to the reception she told me you late, and she said, ok that’s the doctor a try to explain they take my time on the 2 floor, and the doctor she Who’s so rude to me and I told the receptionist to change me a other doctor, I hope she gonna be nice.
Went to Harlem hospital due to severe abdominal pain stood in the hall way in pain for 4 hours I asked a nurse where are the doctors she said one will be with me shortly which is what another said to me 4 hours prior... they gave me a room and shut the curtain for another 4 hours where I was still in severe pain and began to vomit.. finally my bf came and started cursing at everyone before a doctor finally came to see me (mind you there were no emergencies taking place or anyone giving birth), I was laying in that bed for 4 hrs with a needle in my arm no medical attention.. in severe pain AND all the doctor did was give me a VERY strong pain killer which also knocked me out (sleep) for another 3 hours.. then gave me discharge papers and told me I was fine.. I came to the doctor for medical attention due to serious blood loss through PMS ..I found I had severe anemia from another doctor at a brooklyn hospital.. dont go to Harlem if you value your life.
I was in this Hospital for a week, in pain .. Admitted 6/28/18..It was the worst , Nurses acted with attitude except one, named Joel... in 6 days my bed and room was clean one time ,cause my family made a big deal..Please unless is trauma ..Do not, do not go to Harlem Hospital
I cant Co!plain about Harlem hospital if yall think Harlem is bad try going to Lincoln, youll be in there from 6 to 8 hours dead ass all so you can get medication with a side effect thats gonna bring you back to the hospital for something else and thats at any hospital, the doctors dont care about us specially the ones thats from other countries who know about herds, when they family get sick they dont give them medication they go straight to the herds what they was raised on with no side effects, start doing your homework my black people ,they are killing us slowly with these medications and gmo foods ,if youre working try to start buying organic foods if its you have a family mother and father put yall money together and start buying organic food ,you live a longer and healthier life,if you dont believe me do your research please because the doctors are not gonna tell you this, they need sick people like us to keep coming to the hospital to help them make money to take care and feed they family the right healthy organically way please take heat in this ,good luck because were gonna need it
STAY AWAY IF YOU WANT TO BE ALIVE!!!! NO CARE NO LISTENING THEY SCARE YOU WITH THE BACK UP OF POLICE BUT THEY DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. AWFUL AWFUL GLAD I LEFT A D TOOK MY 4 YEARS OLD TO CORNELL THEY MISSED FRACTURES AND WRONG DOSE OF MEDS. POOR REPORT NO COMUNICATION
This HOSPITAL IS CURRENTLY PUTTING MYMOTHER IN LAW THROUGH AGONY! SHE IS SUFFERING WITH SJS AND THEY ARE TRYING TO COVER THEIR ASSES BUT THEY WILL PAY! MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON YOUR SOULS AND PRAY SHE MAKES IT OUT OF THIS. YOU ALL WILL PAY FOR THIS REGARDLESS. NO ONE SHOULD SUFFER THE WAY SHE IS RIGHT NOW! SHE WENT IN FOR AN EYE INFECTION N IS NOW FIGHTING FOR HER LIFE.
This is a horrible place I went there after being bit by a dog there so cold fast track left me sitting in the room for 4 hours because no one bothered to put me in the system I could hear the talk about how she did not know the right dosage for my rabies vaccine and how after 4 hours of waiting no one bother to go to the pharmacy to get my medication this is a horrible place do not go here I had to threaten to leave without a rabies vaccine in order for them to hurry up and give me what I need

2022-06-27The lady at the front desk is very racist. The lady that was in front of me came in without a problem, she didn’t ask her for Covid test nor vaccination, but as soon as I when to her she need prove in order for me to visit my client and if I was not able to show her my card she was not going to let me in the building. So she set my mood for me enter the floor with an attitude. Hope to not returned there. Hospital staff has consistently dismissed all questions and concerns related to my friend’s treatment. Doctors and social workers are never a available to to provide updates on patients. I would not recommend anyone use this hospital for any reason at all. If I could give 0 stars I would.

2022-06-25I was sent to Harlem Hospital ER to receive Monoclonal Antibody treatment for Covid. The ER department was very well maintained and so clean The staff were all very courteous and so helpful I had to wait in a designated waiting room for Covid positive patients between a half hour to 45 minutes It was a Friday evening and I know they were quite busy. After I was brought to a single room with a TV and had my treatment I was so impressed with the hospital and staff I’d give them more than 5 stars if I could

2022-01-04This hospital is ridiculous. I’m in the emergency room. The ladies at the front desk talks very low with mask on and attitude problems. Then they gave me 2 nurses to do my vitals and ask questions about my injury. But one can hardly speak English and the other only wants to hear what she wants. I could barely put my pants on or take them without being in pain. Nobody would help me. I’m literally still sitting here waiting for someone to tell me something. 6:32pm I’ve been here since 11:30-12am

2022-05-01My friend was admitted to this hospital almost 2 weeks ago following a mental health emergency. The hospital staff has been absolutely HORRENDOUS to deal with. The hospital staff has rarely communicated with my friend’s family regarding the treatment he has been receiving. Hospital staff has consistently dismissed all questions and concerns related to my friend’s treatment. Doctors and social workers are never a available to to provide updates on patients. I would not recommend anyone use this hospital for any reason at all. If I could give 0 stars I would.

2022-04-11This is by far the worst hospital on the planet stay as far away as possible!! my father in law was in an accident in February and he was taken to this hospital and he needs a surgery, we have taken him in a total of four times! for his scheduled surgery which they call to confirm with us to only cancel it when we arrive! this is ludicrous! It is now April and they did this to us again. No one helps and has no answers and the doctors do not even come to speak to you. They should be embarrassed to treat their patients this way. At this point this is medical negligence!

2022-02-02This has to be one of the most ghettoest, unprofessional, dirtiest hospitals I’ve ever been to. The doctors and nurses will sit there and talk about the patients and down to the patients. I’ve personally witnessed medical negligence towards a patient who didn’t speak no English. I had to step in and ask request for them to give them a translator because they was just getting annoyed at the patient for not understanding English. They would laugh and mock them at their desks. Worst hospital hands down

2022-06-13This place doesnt care about its patients wellbeing just collecting your money and sending you on your way. I went in with a complaint spent less than 5 minutes seeng a nurse who told me my symptoms wasnt major they didnt run any tests and no drugs or care was needed so they sent me home. months after i was hounded by collections thinking little of it I payed the bill of $75 but this year while doing a credit check i see where its was affecting my credit report significantly so i contacted my health insurance to see how much was billed on their end. Surprisingly nyc health hospitals billed my insurance $600 for me just sitting in a hospital room for 5 minutes wow.

2022-02-09If I could rate this hospital a 0/5, I WOULD. My boyfriend had bariatric surgery done there a year ago. HE HAS NOT SEEN HIS SURGEON SINCE DUE TO THEIR BARIATRIC DEPARTMENT NEVER ANSWERING THE PHONE. He has scheduled multiple appointments and each time they schedule them completely wrong and when he tries to call to fix the mistake THEY NEVER ANSWER. He once went to the office to try to schedule an appointment to which him and another person waited well over an hour because the front desk registrar stepped away AND DIDNT COME BACK. Absolutely DO NOT use this hospital. They do not care for their patients.

2022-04-27I love the doctors here and all of the technicians but the front desk woman is AWFUL. I have no idea what her name is but she always has a horrible attitude and demeanor every single time that I visit. She is completely unhelpful and makes me extremely uncomfortable with visiting the office.
