Delicious pasta - definitely one of the best I've had. The atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing....
BewareWent to this place, had a nice time. Food was ok. Staff was wonderful. The problem is that I was double charged on my credit card. Dont understand how when I signed all paperwork at location. Only to be charged again later. And I left a nice tip for the guys. This took away from the pleasure I had there. Wont be return again.
Underwhelming. Simply paying a premium for the name. Also what kind of restaurant in NYC creates an atmosphere of if you’re not “somebody” you don’t have access to the same foods. Yeah that lovely looking ice cream you see in photos? Nope not for you. That mentality doesn’t work in NYC. Hosts provide favoritism, if they don’t know you, they could care less about your experience. The ambience is not welcoming, unless you like fake smiles. Sayonara!
What a place. So authentic and was fun to watch people around me. The food was somehow different than we had for Italian. How should I describe it? Hm. You should try. The Sea Bass and the Spaghetti we ordered were fabulous. The Calamari can be better in other places. Fabulous service!!
What is not to love about Harry Cipriani at the Sherry-Netherland! Dinner there last night was a wonderful experience. The service is so warm and hospitable - such a lost art. Servers who are great hosts and truly want to make people happy. The food was spectacular - from the signature Cipriani roll all the way to the Crepe a la Creme. The White Bean Soup and Tuna Tartare to start were both amazing and the Baked Tagliolini with Ham and Baked Chicken with Roasted Peppers were both fantastic! Everything was executed perfectly and the room is absolutely beautiful making the night just perfect.
My favourite Italian in NYC. We’ve been eating here for more than a decade, the food is consistently outstanding, the service is out of this world, the team at Cipriani make you feel like family and we’ve never had a warmer welcome! Thanks guys for everything you do A+
Apart from the polite staff(fernando and the Romanian lady)and fast service, nothing else was worth it!Food was average and maybe below and super pricey! We paid almost 300$ for two people and we didn’t enjoy it(!mozarella di buffala was dry and chewy, ragu nothing special, gnocchi was ok and desert was like a cake from80s!)I don’t recommend it!
Harry Cipriani is a MUST EAT when visiting New York City or when you have a low key business meeting. I personally prefer eating lunch here. The location is fantastically convenient, and OMG everything I have ordered over the years has been cooked to perfection. My personal favorite plate, when available, is the white truffle over angel hair, I honestly can say it is to die for..... Table service is exceptional.
I have no idea why people rate this restaurant 4 stars. Mostly all tourist that don’t know otherwise. The food is average and the prices are ridiculous. Plan on spending $150 for two people. The portions are small and as an Italian the food Is below standard. Save your money and go somewhere else that’s not in this area. It’s by the Plaza Hotel and Central Park so I guess they think they can charge outrageous prices. Go to little Italy instead. You will get authentic Italian food that’s delicious and save yourself a bundle.
This is a very high profile/upscale restaurant in a pretty ritzy location. I enjoyed the food but feel as though you could get the same quality of food at other Italian restaurants in the city for a fraction of the price. The biggest reason to come here is for the service, which is unmatched. Come here for a great special occasion!
Food is 3 stars but ambience and service are 5 stars. The food is very plain and not flavorful. The broccoli had no flavor at all- no garlic, no olive oil, no salt. The fish was good but the veal ragu was watery. For the price, the food should be better. But the ambience and service are excellent!!
Same to Rizzo I have no idea why this restaurant has good fame. The price is high but the food is far below average. It’s not authentic and actually you can get the same soup in your Panera’s Bread I suppose. To be worse, the service is super poor! There are several attendants but nobody cares about guests. They are rude as well. In fact they simply dropped the dishes like feeding animals. It’s ok to speak poor English but I feel it a shame for any decent restaurant to have waiters who, miserably, do not talk about the menu and push the guests to order. Even young pals in Subway are much more patient than them! Set your budget to 150 dollars per person for a casual restaurant like this, an amount enough for you to eat in Hotel Metropole Venice’s Michelin restaurant. Avoid this fraud to survive your mood, your beloved ones’ mood, and your pocket.

It was a very disappointing experience for all 3 of us. The food tasteless and had no flavors. I ordered the lamb shank and other guests ordered the branzino.I had much much better of those dishes at the fraction of what they charge for.The restaurant is very tight with tables right next to each other with barely any room to move.Food is extremly pricey for what they offer. The only good thing was to have a dinner with my sister and her boyfriend.
I was more than pleased with the food and service and the manager made special arrangements for my guest with special needs. Tigers and chocolate cake and I say no more. Lol James and his staff were exceptional and more than gracious and kind giving is a special dessert and they were super sweet! Thank you
Went for dinner with 3 others from Brazil. The room is cozy. The service was great. The food? Not so much. Steak Tartare appetizer needed more flavor and texture IMO. Others had meat entrees that they said were quite good. My penne puttanesca had no flavor of anchovy or capers and was under-cooked for my taste and I like all dente. If you decide to go, you must get the vanilla cake they are deservedly known for. Martinis were good but on the skimpy side.
The food was great, however I have received better customer service in a McDonalds. Disgraceful is an understatement. After the initial order for food and drinks, no further service was tendered, we had to pour our own wine from the chiller the whole evening and left without desert as we waited for service to no avail for an extended period.Would not return. The only plus was the entertainment offered by the waiting team whilst they visibly argued and shoved each other out of the way in a seeming comedy of ongoing errors.
Very posh yet simple place to enjoy fine Italian food and wines. Have to start with the dessert which is simply heavenly. The layer cream cake is rich, light, enough sweet to melt in your mouth.Plenty of pasta dishes to choose from, stay away from the tuna pasta though. The tuna tasted like from a can. Otherwise, the filet mignon we had was cook to perfection, saute over mushrooms.Seating was comfortable and spacious, staff was friendly and attentive. Definitely will go back again. A bit pricey.
Absolutely terrible experience! We went there yesterday with my BBF and after we got a table their manager started physically moving tables around right in front of hour face for like half an hour. He was carrign them from one side of the restaurant to another one. Its was absolutely horrible and we felt very uncomfortable. We got there little after the restaurant got opened around 5pm. I wonder why they didnt do it before they opened restaurant. Our waitress gave us an attitude that we only ordered appetizers with out main courses. No personal touch, too much attitude from everyone, fake welcoming smiles.
I could not be more disappointed. We have been in New York City for 4 days now. Weve had delicious to ok food leading up to today. Harry Cipriani was recommended to me by The Plaza Hotel. We knew this spot was expensive but we were ready for that. I have no problem paying for great service and good food.I got neither at this establishment. Our server was VERY slow to wait on us. I ordered baked veal ravioli. When it arrived it kind of looked like ravioli but it was very very thin. It tasted just like cheese pizza with a thin layer of pasta instead of a crust. When the check finally arrived there was a different name for my meal. I dont know what I actually was served but I ate the $34 cheese pizza immitation. The regulars at this restaurant were greeted with glee by the manager while the servers argued with one another right in front of us.One server sneezed into his sleeve. Lets all hope its allergies. There are so many wonderful Italian restaurants in the city. Go to Sardis. I wanted to try somewhere new, my mistake. The great reviews must be from regular visitors to this place, if youre from out of town, youre out of luck!
This place was absolutely terrible. We sat at our table for 20 minutes before they even realized we didnt have menus. They sat us near the door and constantly kept opening both doors at once causing the artic blast from outside to blow our food everywhere. They did this multiple times. When the door man outside saw people were leaving he would open the outside door so both doors would be open at once. Drove us crazy. They also do not even have a restroom in the restaurant you have to go far into the hotel and down a flight of stairs to use the bathroom.Service was the worst. Food wasnt even that great. Not worth it- over priced!
Good foodBut rude service didnt make up for that. And when we ordered the check we were surprised to see that they awarded themselves $200 just for service.. I think that should be determined by the customers at the end of the service & not the waiters which were rude and didnt even deserve that service charge. And my card was charged $800 extra and when I called to let them know about the issue the lady who spoke to me was very rude and kept screaming over the phone instead of apologizing she said it was my fault and that this is a normal thing at all restaurants clearly they havent been to any restaurant.Never coming back again this is a 0 star.. not even 1*
The menu and the food is mediocre , for the prices they charge , they should offer more than that. I understand is an old traditional Italian , however since they opened ages ago , the standard didnt increase, to serve over salted food and some cheap lunch menu is unacceptable
The last thing I expected to eat tonight was rabbits but I did and it was almost as good as mine and my mothers and my sisters but the vegetables even better. Then I had to try to stop by on because I already had the meringue a whole bunch at Cipriani dolci at Grand Central Station... life is good at any Cipriani location so make sure you get here to check it out for yourself and ask for Maya at the Cipriani Dolce oh she is the absolute best bartender 🥂💕✌❤🍷🍰🍾☕💕
Chiprianis is always a nice resturant to go to however I have never been over impressed with the food. Although the brand is held in high esteem as a place to be seen and go, there are far better places with better food. Dont get me wrong I like the restaurants but its very expensive and I find the services when I have been the 8 or 9 times always the same, slight unattentive. I will definitely go back but I feel that service can improve and the food flavour needs an overhaul. Im not trying to give a negative review but positive criticism. The salads are good, the calamari, the pasta always nice but needs a little more flavour for my taste. I WILL BE BACK THO 😉
My wife and I chose to celebrate our 1 year anniversary at Ciprianis. We really had high hopes for this place as we visited Harrys bar in Venice during our honeymoon and loved it. Instead we experienced horrible service as people were bumping into our table and standing over us while we ate. The table next to us was supposed to be a party of 9 but they filled it with 15 people and then tried to kick us out of ours to fill their party. To make matters worst they included gratuity in the bill which left us with no options. Such a horrible experience, the food is ok and definitely not worth the price. If youre looking for good italian cuisine, my recommendation is AI Fiori. its a michelin star winner. The food is amazing and equally matched by its service.
Very disappointing experience.Starting with the service, that was horrible, continuing with the food that was extra grasy and tasteless and finishing with the atmoshpere. The restaurant is very tight with tables squeezed one next to each other. There is barely any room to move. Food is extremly pricey for what they offer.
Hmmm. Dinner for two with an average bottle of wine, $236.00. Okay, there are dinners that I have had that were worth that price tag. This one was not. The steak was a less-than-average cut, and frankly - it tasted bad... as in, not fresh. My meal- the scallops- was just not nearly as good as what I have had for 1/3 the price. This restaurant is a trap to be avoided... It was one of the blandest, least imaginative meals I have had in NYC.
There is no dress code written, yet when we went there and half of us sat down ... the other half came 10 minutes later wearing shorts ... so they refused to let them in and offered them pants to wear that we dont know if they r even hygienic enough or not. We called the manager and told him it’s not written anywhere, he said no we dont write it! Wow
Quite expensive for a small crowded room with no views and very uncomfortable tables and chairs. the bellinis are $20 each - no one tells you this when you order. The food is $32 for a pasta dish? it has no flavor and the olive oil also has no flavor. nothing great and it cost $300 for us. quite strange. go somewhere else if you want good italian food as this place was tooooo expensive. location is nice but i guess that is why the prices are sooo high.
Very unpleasant experience. I love Cipriani. Ive been to Venice, Dubai, SoHo Ny, Miami and now this one. The wonderful Miami, congratulations to all for the treatment given to customers. But this Harry Cipriani is the worst experience Ive had. Bad service thanks mainly to Sérgio (thats the name he gave me, I believe he is a manager, arrogant person, who mistreats customers) anyway, not in line with the Cipriani network, where he values the simple with the best gastronomy. And even when I said he was going to evaluate, he laughed, disregarding a clients opinion. Unfortunate that attitude.
Had dinner here tonight, and ordered Lamb Chops..Now, I like Lamb Chops, and these were all fat....Ill neve order Lamb Chops here again..Ive had there steak which was very good..But the Chops..Ive had better around the corner..If I eat here again..It wont be the Lamb Chops..

2022-04-25I wont come here again in my life, it wasnt worse in my life!horror service, Prosciutto on the menu with melon, have you seen melon? I ordered a mix of grilled vegetables, they brought me a bowl of peppers and with such an attitude, like what you ask at all, chew what you gave. Then the peppers were removed and boiled broccoli were stuck in my face or I want it. I immediately started putting on my coat.

2022-09-05Worst service. Ran out of bread, never had the same waiter for ANY order. The pasta was LITERALLY crunchy. The veal tasted like chemicals. They brought the wrong entree to my mother. They over charged us for the wrong tequila. The waiters at the station behind us kept dropping f bombs. No flavor. No class.

2022-08-02My husband and I always looking forward for a great gastronomic experience . So this year for our anniversary we decided to visit Cipriani. We were looking forward for this dinner however this was such a bad experience . The Server never presented himself . We always had to look for our server to make an order . The food tasted okay, the presentation of the food was terrible. Also it looked like everyone were treated differently . Some tables would have constant attention and some tables did not (like ours)Overall we would not recommend this place to anyone . Disappointed in the ambience of this place.

2022-06-03Very bad food. Incredibly so. I’m just confused as much as anything. How is this place in business? The quality is so far off the pace, it’s not even comparable. The prices could maybe be acceptable (they are extremely high) if the food was amazing; but the food is really really bad.Service was fine.

2022-04-17The food was below average - I have had better at Olive Garden. The service also was subpar. We were sat for a meal and we were not given a wine menu. The main waiter we had was forgetful and seemed uninterested. For the amount you spend at this place its definitely not worth it. Definitely go somewhere else.

2022-04-07We had lunch at Cipriani’s to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. Service and foodcouldn’t have been better. Grilled salmon was the best I have ever had. Each individual who took care of us was kind and attentive. Top notch experience in every way. Well done Folks!

2022-06-11I don’t recommend this restaurant. In the area there are much tastier establishments and much more educated waiters and nicer service!I have been going to this place for 4 years in a row. And every year it gets worse and worse.…………It doesnt smell like real Italy anymore.
