Im not a fan, but my wife is. I was afraid that I would waste a full day of our trip by waiting around nearby to be called when our time came (they are using virtual queueing). They will place a QR code outside to get a spot at the virtual queue. Once there are no more slots, they will take off the QR code. I arrived at noon on the first day of my trip, and they had already removed the QR code. Decided to arrive early the next morning to scan the code, but we arrived early enough, that when they opened the door, we didnt have to scan the code, since the first 2 dozen or so people will actually go into the store. We arrived 30 mins before opening, by opening the queue was going around the block. That being said, this is the closest Harry Potter experience outside Universal Orlando. Make sure to install the Harry Potter fan club app, to collect the enchanted keys around the store and put the secret code for a Harry Potter free pin at checkout. I think it was unique to the store. Im not a fan but did this anyways, so my wife could have 2 pins. I thought it would be one pin per group/couple, but it seems its per app/person. Also the butter beer here is tastier than the one in Orlando.
If you enjoyed the books or the movies then this store is a must. It is themed incredibly well. You can get anything from a fresh butter beer to a personalized wand. In fact they have a large variety of things you can personalize, including avoidance letters into Hogwarts. This store is magical.
The Harry Potter New York Store is simple jaw dropping! So many amazing artifacts and architecture from the beloved Harry Potter Universe. I highly recommend visiting this attraction if you come to Manhattan, New York. If you do decide to come, do know that the prices are a bit high and the store can get very crowded. With that being said, all Potterheads should come to this truly amazing store when they visit the Big Apple.
After wanting to visit the store for months but putting it off due to the crowds and potentially long entry times, we finally bit the bullet and visited a few days ago. It was a nice Friday (70 degree-day during Easter break) so we expected some crowds. We drove into the city from the Bronx, and were luckily able to get a spot in the middle of the afternoon on 19th street between 9th - 10th avenues...there are a few residential alternate side-parking streets in that immediate area. Parking closer to the store is very difficult on also all days, except on Sunday. Parking is allowed in most of Manhattan on Sundays...just be careful and read the signs! We walked to the store located at 22nd and Broadway and scanned the QR code in front of the building as instructed. At that time the queue showed 274 people ahead of us. The employee told that the wait would be between 60-90 minutes. We left and walked around the area for a bit (Madison Square Park with lots of eating options are right around the corner on 23rd street, the Flatiron building is also there...and if you want to walk a bit further, the Empire State Building is 12 blocks away on 34th street). At about 55 minutes after scanning the QR code, we received a text message saying it was our turn. (A few minutes before, at about the 45 minute mark, we received a text message saying you are almost ready. After received the you are ready text you have an hour to make it to the store. Once you arrive, you pull up the text link you recently received on your phone and the workers scan it. No bag checks or anything upon entry, so you can seemingly bring in food, bottled water, etc...Although NYC no longer requires masks in most indoor spaces, the HP store stilll requires masks to be worn at all times while there. Though they do allow the casual removal of masks for photo ops.The store itself is great...definitely lived up to the hype. The store has any and every thing HP-themed you can think of. Books, clothes, jewelry, wands, butterbeer, and tons of collectibles. The rices seem to be on par with theme park (Universal Studios) prices. Examples: $100 house robes, $40-50 wands, $6 butterbeer bottles, $20 winter hat, $60 quiddich sweater... There are tons of exclusive items you wouldnt be able to get anywhere else. (I looked some up)The store is divided into two floors (via spiral staircase or elevator) and multiple rooms/areas. Lots of photo op areas such as the red telephone booth and life-sized Hagrid. There are other activities such as the VR eperience, which has to be booked in advanced and cost extra. The butterbeer bar is your last stop on the way out and was pretty cool. $10 cups of butterbeer and $7 butterscotch ice cream. Ice cream was great, but the butterbeer was NOT. The bottled butterbeer were also pretty bad, some strange aftertaste. They also have some cupcakes and other cakes that we did not try.Despite the timed admissions, the entire store was pretty crowded. It was challenging to navigate the space with out stroller. Also the bathroom line (near the books section) was fairly long. All staff there were nice, patient and accommodating.Overall, this place is a must for any HP fan...Decor and references throughout the entire space is simply amazing.jI observed lots of workers walking around just dusting and keeping things neat, which was very much appreciated. I would recommend to factor in 1-2 hours for a visit, if you plan on taking everything in. Just remember to bring your wallet. :)
So happy I was able to visit during my stay in NYC! I stopped by too late yesterday and didn’t know there was a virtual queue. I returned this morning at 10:15am despite being told to arrive at 7am. I was in the door in less than 45min! Amazing! I will say that I was by myself so I’m not sure how much that plays into how long someone waits. I’m also curious as to how someone without a smartphone can enter the store? Overall, I’m glad I didn’t have to wait long and the store was wonderful 🤍 it is 2 floors and not 3 by the way! The 3rd floor is for the VR experiences.I do wish that the employees were a bit more upbeat. I work in customer service and know how hard it is but their rudeness does get in the way of the experience. When checking out, my cashier didn’t even say hello or goodbye. Checked me out in silence and it was kind of an uneventful exit. Not mad about it just disappointed.
If you are a Harry Potter fan you must visit the store at least once whenever you can. I planned a one week trip to NYC back in December just so I could visit the store and it was worth it. Both days I went there was no line so I didn’t have to wait which was great. The way the store is designed and decorated makes for a magical experience. They have quite a few photo ops, a wide variety of products that are of great quality and the butterbeer ice cream they have at the bar is so delicious!
Didnt havent to use a virtual que to get in today! Just walked right in at 11am on January 4th. Store is really cool. Its themed very well. I wish other intellectual properties would build stores like this one. Lots of staff working and they were all very helpful! They have a couple of small bathrooms in bottom part by the books.
This was an amazing experience. The detail put into all of the decorations here is so fun and cool. Definitely extremely overpriced but the whole set up with the virtual line is such an amazing time save. The only thing that I think is probably actually worth the price is the butter beer - you get to take home a mug with you!
Had quite the magical time when we visited here. Not only is it a store, it’s a mini museum, too. There’s a lot to see, and plenty of customizations to have done. Some of the clothing items will run you over $50, but it’s good quality. The staff are super friendly and helpful, just what you need when you’re browsing around. There are restrooms downstairs, an elevator for easy access, and butter beer galore (which is actually really really good). I had an amazing time and I can’t wait to come back during the middle of the week when there probably isn’t as much foot traffic. I’d say your best bet is to go on a weekday after 5. Either way, regardless of when you go, you’re sure to feel the magic. Mischief Managed!
Was 336 in line. I was ready to wait however, we scanned to wait in virtual line and we went to grab some drinks. We freaked out because we thought it was going to be hours and we received our turn was up when they had barely taken our order. Luckily, they gave us an hour to enter the store. It was awesome! Omg it was great! Theres so much stuff! Bought some Christmas gifts for friends and family. Definitely walked around and looked at all the stuff and props. Be patient with staff this place is packed but everyone we encountered was super friendly.
A Potter fan’s dream come true! They have unique clothing selection! The decor was amazing. The store was busy but once in fine it went fast. The prices were basic. Must try was the butter beer and cupcake! The cupcake was a butter frosting which was surprising- I thought it would have been too sweet but it was really good! The butter beer was what I expected- no complaints. Definitely a most try.
Probably the best store of this kind in Manhattan, awesomely decorated, pretty good selection of merchandise and decent prices for the official items.I would say is a must see for Potter-heads, or even if you are just slightly interested.Have in mind that being licensed merch it could be expensive.
Awesome store selling HP merchandise. Been here a couple times. You need to scan a QR code outside the store to get in the virtual line. But it usually moves fast I.e. about 100-150# per hour. You will get a text when you can go in and you have an hour to get to the store from wherever you are. Only thing is, everything in the store is slightly expensive.
Step into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and have yourself an experience here! There truly is something for everyone, even if you haven’t read or watched the series. I know there’s usually a line to get into the store, but I was able to walk in early afternoon on a Saturday without any issues. There’s lots of apparel, snacks, wands, and even butter beer available to purchase. Tons of photo opportunities as well. This doesn’t nearly compare to what you’ll experience at Universal’s Harry Potter theme park, but it’s nice to get a bit of that magic in New York.
If you love Harry Potter, this is a MUST! I was so excited to go and I was not disappointed. So much stuff for harry potter loves. Every house has a huge selection. The wands are beautiful. The butterbeer is so good! I love it all. If Im ever back in NY, Ill be back. Masks required.
Finally made it to the hp store and it did not disappoint! So happy with my experience here. There was lots of merch, decorations, intractable things and of course, the VR experience. We did the VR where you walk through hogwarts and it was incredible! Wish it was a little longer but it was still totally worth it!
We loved it. The process was streamlined and helpful with the qr code check in. While we were waiting we got to play football in the park 2 blocks away, with plenty of warning so we wouldnt miss our turn. There was something to see in every single corner of the store and it was THREE FLOORS. So much fun, you can enjoy it for absolutely free but of course there are different levels of price ranges for different items. They have some VR experiences, wands with the option of personalizations. I thought everything was reasonably priced so every one could have a chance at experiences something at their comfort level/ability financially
If you’re a Harry Potter fan you are going to love this place!! If you’re not a fan, you will be after a trip to this store! Tons of stuff to enjoy! They have all your Harry Potter needs! They have a mini cafe there you can get some mini treats and a butter beer or buttter flavored ice cream! I highly you go check this place out. During the week in the middle of the day is best but weekends are crazy busy!!
Such a fun store. I didnt have much time so I didnt look for any of the hidden activations but will make sure to do that next time. The prices are what you would expect for official HP gear but I didnt think they were too high. They have everything from stuffed Hedwigs to House themed clothing, a small cafe counter that sells Butterbeer, and a wand shop! This is a must visit for Harry Potter fans. Make sure to check out MinaLima to see the graphic art from the movies.
We originally were going to skip the store - given that we had been to Wizarding World and platform 9 3/4. However this store is incredible. It has such amazing interactive components, unique souvenirs, engaging experiences, and personalized merch. Also / cool photo opps. Much more impressive than I could have imagined. When we arrived there was no line - we were able to walk right in. They do personalized jerseys and custom hogwarts letters, and of course, sell butterbeer (complete with souvenirs mug). It was much more of an experience than I ever anticipated! What I thought would be a 15 min stop ended up being a 1 hour+ visit.
If you are a Harry Potter fan then this store is a “must-visit” for you. There is no waiting on line outside the store. They have an “online queuing” system where you pick up a ticket when you get there and they alert you via a message when your turn is up and you have up to 1 hour to get there, so you could be doing other things while waiting to get in. This is very convenient. Entrance is FREE! The store is a great experience where we can see and buy the Harry Potter paraphernalia and try “butter beer”, ice cream and a variety of treats. They also have couple of experiences which are paid and have to be booked online in advance. The staff are very particular of patrons having their masks on the entire time.
For a Potterhead this place is magical.1. We did the VR broomstick ride and hold on to your pointy hats my friends!! My 9yr old had a blast!!2. Download the Harry Potter fan app and find all the clues around the store, figure out the phrase and present to the cashier for a surprise.3. There are real props from the movies in the store.4. The staff are helpful and full of trivia knowledge which I appreciate. An experience for Harry Potter lovers!
Very pretty layout of this Harry Potter store! I went on Sunday at 10AM and had to scan the QR code to be in line. We waited about 1.5 hours to then be put on a physical line for about 20 minutes. We spent about 45 minutes browsing the store which had a vast collection of purchasable wands and books. There wasn’t really much else to do other than buy themed items and take pictures. Did not try the VR experience so can’t speak about that. Items are very expensive - the scarf was $25 and it’s not really a great quality either. But it’s Harry Potter themed! For some reason the butterbeer tasted better at Universal than from the bottle…
Harry Potter store, NYC is the first official Harry Potter flagship store in the heart of New York City next to the iconic Flatiron building on famous broadway street. It houses the largest ever collection of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts products, from Hogwarts House robes to Chocolate Frogs and Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans. 20,000 square feet and three floors full of Wizarding World merchandise - is not that amazing.it is not just a retail space, it is more than 20,000 square feet of space that’s also an interactive experience that showcases 15 themed rooms, two of which are exclusive-to-New York virtual reality (VR) experiences - In “Chaos At Hogwarts,” guests become Hogwarts students and join Dobby on adventures throughout the wizarding school, casting spells when needed; and in “Wizards Take Flight,” guests “hop” on a broom and join Hagrid on a few high-flying adventures, including an encounter with a few Death Eaters.A MinaLima room was decked out with the Hogwarts textbook covers that the graphic-designing duo created for the Harry Potter films as well as a photo-op worthy fireplace featuring one of the most iconic scenes-- when hundreds of Hogwarts letters soared down the Dursleys’ chimney and burst into the sitting room. There were shelves crammed with plushie critters, from clever Crookshanks to the mischief-making Nifflers, and figurines featuring magical creatures as beloved as the watchful three-headed dog, Fluffy, and Harry’s majestic snowy owl companion, Hedwig. The star of the show for many of The Protego Foundation’s team members was the Butterbeer Bar, complete with tankards of butterbeer on draft and a massive wall of cascading, amber-colored butterbeer bottles. To visit the store, guests must join a virtual queue that starts each morning at 7 a.m. by scanning the QR code displayed outside the store, which sits between 5th Ave. and Broadway on 22nd St.; the store’s social media handles alert guests when the queue is full. You will then be given an entry time slot; go early because time slots do fill up quickly. Separate tickets are needed for the VR experiences ($34 per ride) and must be purchased ahead of time online.
Amazing 3 level store full of all the magic in the Harry Potter books and movies. There’s tons of photo ops, clothing, wand room, jewelry, and customization /embossing for several items. There’s also a butter beer bar with drinks and other desserts. Such a fun place to visit though it does get very crowded.
This place is true to the word of being a harry potter world !!!sometimes due to rush the entry is restricted so make sure to have plan b while u wait for ur turn..fantastic variety of stuff of each house of hogwarts.. found a few things pricey but worth buying is the school bag for 40$ and the cap for 15$..the stationery is bit expensive considering a dollar for a pencil which could b in form of a feather !!the harry potter sunglasses r kept in a corner which should be in some prime location..the game of finding keys is a must play though the prize is very small..overall a great place to visit..
Came here twice over the weekend while visiting New York. Did not have to join a virtual queue or wait in line at all, we got in right away both times. I love it in here, its a Potterheads dream come true! I bought quite a few things both times i came. The long was long to check out but it moved very quickly. I didnt love the butterbeer but the souvenir cup with came with was worth the money. Cant wait to come back when i visit next time.
Such a cool store!! It has some amazing stuff inside. There was a lot of beautiful details everywhere you turn. Most exciting thing of all for me was I got to try butter beer. It was delicious and you get to keep the cup as a souvenir. But you do have to scan the code at the door to reserve your place in line to go in. You can’t just go right in like any store. Once your turn is up you get a text message saying you only have one hour to go to the store before your place gets taken. I definitely recommend this store.
When arriving to the store you scan to enter a virtual line which makes waiting to get in more pleasant, we went to see the Christmas tree then got our notification to head back. This system makes it for a less crowding shopping experience, the decor makes you feel like your seeing bits of the movie set great photo ops here. We purchased a wand each and i got a firebolt ornament for my tree after paying for out merch we got a mug of Butterbeer “ Delicious “.
It’s like a dream come true. The best store of Harry Potter for the young and the less young. You have to go there and scan qr code to get in a virtual line. I don’t have a states number so i got a manual number instead. Was called within an hour and it was worth it! However, didn’t see any vr since it’s all booked till the next week.3 floors and you’ll see olivander’s, homeyduke, three-blooms etc. All the merchandise blew my mind. They even have personalized service for some certain items like uniform and wands which is interesting. Awesome snacks and drinks. However, the clothes are of quite poor quality if you look at the price and come in a huge size even the ‘small’. Mugs are not packed in box which I was disappointed as I couldn’t bring them back. They only offered to wrap. Would be great if they could pack better since most of us here are foreign tourists. Also you will find minalima here as well. Lastly, all staff is just lovely.
Such an absolute fun thing to do while in NYC! The store is pretty busy, but foot traffic slows down quite a bit in the evenings. I use a wheelchair and was able to move about everywhere with no problems whatsoever. I particularly liked that the elevator is set up like a fireplace and is lighted green on the inside for an extra fun touch. The details of the store are incredible and the VR experiences are so much fun! The staff is very friendly and helpful. While you are visiting, make sure to try the butterbeer!
The store itself is quite lovely, and there are a lot of really cool things to buy and experience.BUT BE WARNED there was only one functioning bathroom for the entire place and we waited in line for 37 minutes just to use the facility (of the 2 bathrooms, only 1 was working).
I had such an amazing experience at HP NYC. Spending over 4 hours with my my husband and service dog in your store and coming out with well over $600 of merchandise it was an overall HP fan world day we will never forget. I can’t say thank you enough. Each and every one of the staff members we met were an absolute delight. I am Deaf and some staff even went over and beyond to support me in the VR experience. All of our questions about books and clothing to jewelry and a candle (oh wait even what mask size to get) were met with smiles and kindness. Great job! My one and only wish was to be able to purchase a fleece jacket like your staff have. They are exactly what I was looking for to complete my winter outfit. We flew in from Texas specifically tp visitHP New York and even had the opportunity to meet one of the supervisors Tyler who lightened our mood even more when we had questions about merchandise. Just thought I would share this insight with hopes we can get a cute fleece jacket on the market for us to purchase and wear in the near future. (If only we lived closer I’d work for it too!) Sincerely, a loyal Harry Potter New York fan(Photos are of the hubby and service dog- it seems photos of me and us are in his phone 😂)
If you are a potterhead or loves someone who is a potterhead this is THE place... trust me on this, even if you are not that big of a fan, youll like it too! Hahaha I went a bit nuts in this store, there is SO MANY cool things!!!! Theres things for every budget. Of course if you cant spend too much youll be bummed to know that a sweater is between 65-85 USD, but you can buy a golden snitch necklace for 15 usd and a passport holder for 20 usd. Also I found a quidditch t-shirt that you can put your name on the back for 40 usd. Really cool!!!!
If you are in NYC and spare 30 mins (and of course are a Harry Potter fan) please visit this store. We went on a week day and it was busy in there. You need to scan in a barcode and wait for your turn to enter the store. The wait time was 20 mins for me. It has all the wonderful HP merchandise and the interior gives you a good feel of the HP world. They serve the butter beer ( Coca-Cola float) and ice cream which is incredibly sweet.
Very nice experience. Love the friendly staff there. Cool decorations and sound effects are quite immersive. The elevator is a fireplace! And you can get butter beer in the store! They also have shows, but you have to book them ahead of time. Lots of merchandise, but they are over priced. Overall, its a fun experience.
This store is cursed! Beware! Someone may put an Imperius on you, and youll find yourself with no self control. Surely your money will be victim to the Evanesco spell. The music in the background may make you feel like a Harry Potter character yourself. On the other hand, meeting Dobby and Hagrid at Hogwarts in the VR experiences was amazing. If you like to fly, go try them. Ok, everything was amazing, truly. I miss my money, though.
Warning! You have to come early to scan the QR code to take the reservation!.I went around noon and had to wait 2hs to go in. (Theyll text you when its your turn!)By the time it was mine, the waiting time was between 3/4 hours. So yes, you better go early.Once you receive the text, screenshot the code just in case.... and ENJOY!This has EVERYTHING you could ever want of Harry Potter and much much more!!The butterbeer OMG!! SOOOOO good!12$ the cup and you take it home as a souvenir. They also have other sweet treats that look not only delicious but so beautiful!Yes, it will be very crowded inside... but itll be really worthy!Prices are very different, so you can have stuff for 5$ and stuff for over a 100$.But, most of the prices are accessible.Great experience to go with a good fanatic of the saga!
It definitly is an experience worth having if you are a fan. There are tons of merchandise and you can easily spend an hour just browsing. The staff are plentiful but I have to say only a few are engaging and eager to help. I noticed more then a few having side conversions while costumes tried to get their attention. I myself am somewhat stingy when it comes to buying however for the most part items where reasonable priced. I wand, which is the main attraction for me and having it engraved was 49, tax it included. Yet you will find figurine of lesser charges for 30. I will probably have to go again to make additional purchases and I dont dread having to go, so thats a plus.
Definitely one of the best experiences of my life. They have so many different things to buy, not a lot of food and drinks to try but it’s still exciting. You can make your own letter, buy your own wand and they have probably 10+ different wands to pick from if I remember correctly. The store is two floors and has a ton of different rooms. There isn’t a lot of memorabilia for Ravenclaw. There’s also a life-size ceramic piece of Nigini which is very cool. I wish they had frozen butter beer but they just had butter beer on tap. They do have butter beer ice cream which is amazing and cookies and I think a cupcake. I went in September so I’m making this review a little late.
What a gorgeous little place to visit, it feels and looks so magical! I have gone inside twice, my first time I joined a Virtual Queue, I was number 740, so I went around the corner to eat a Sandwich, 45 minutes later I was at number 500 and got a text saying I could come in to the store and got a barcode. Then on my second visit no one had to do the line.It is two floors full of magic! Great place to visit even if you don’t want to buy anything. At the end of the store there is an ice cream shop with the butter beer!
So I took my husband here for his birthday and of course as a HUGE Harry Potter fan he absolutely loved it. The only issue was that when I went to the counter to purchase some items as gifts, the cashier was RUDE. I informed him that I was not yet done in the store and he demanded I give him the shopping bag, after I told him once again that my husbands jacket is currently in there and were still shopping he rudely demanded the bag again because according to him There isnt anyone in the front of the store that would take the bag, thank you he said this in the most condescending way possible and grabbed the bag from me as if he thought I would steal something. Im absolutely disgusted with how I was treated, it was uncomfortable and not to mention he LIED there was a woman in the front that took my mother in laws bag as she left the store. I will be reporting this employee because I believe he might need RACISM TRAINING.
Went here today as a walk in and was immediately welcomed! I felt at home here!! Thank you to Winter for helping me personalize my journal and Triwizard Tournament Jersey it came out BEAUTIFUL I ALMOST CRIED. Today was for my birthday and I had a BLAST. The butterbeer tasted great and the whole shopping experience was amazing. I was sad to leave but Im definitely coming back!
Theres a lot of hype. You can get a lot of well priced merchandise from the store and there are a good amount of official props around the store too. However, if youre not going to do the VR, the store ... is just a store. I went on a Friday morning and it was pretty crowded. Considering its fall, one treat we were hoping to find were pumpkin pasties but, did not see it. And besides the standard books, there isnt much else. But again, if youre a fan, I do believe its worth going to see the props and get a good variety of generic merch.
It is worth going for the die hard fan. Smaller than expected - Universal was much larger. Butter beers are $10 ea. For an 8 oz. cup, but clothing prices were not bad. Line went quickly even though there were 275 tickets in front of us we got into the store in 1.5 hrs. I was hoping for more but still enjoyed going.
One of the newest stores to NYC! As of right now, Harry Potter NY is not allowing walk ups however they are doing a virtual line which requires people to scan the QR code at the front of the store to get placed in line. Masks are required throughout the store. Several groups are allowed in at one time, up to 6 people per group. Virtual line goes fast if you get there early! Once the max number of people have claimed their spot in line, the store will stop allowing visitors for the day so if this is something youd like to do with friends or family, get there early and enjoy!
This store is amazing for all Harry Potter fans out there! You can find just about anything your Wizarding heart desires! Definitely recommend coming here to visit and spend an hour looking for exactly what you want. As a non Harry Potter fan, I still think it was an spectacular experience!
Finally made it to the harry potter store. As an avid fan this place was a dream! We spent no less than a small fortune but got many clothing items, some trinkets, a chess board and some candy and butter beer.We did the VR which was a blast! Advise not to wear a dress mine was not short but there was some gusts of wind that sent it flying 😳Will definitely be back next time we are in New york! We bought the VR bc last time we were in town you couldnt just walk in - you were able to this time but rhe VR was definitely worth it! Only got a few pics but there was so many things to do and see.
Abso-freakin loved this store! Large selection of Harry potter and fantastic beasts merch. VR theater on the lower level, honeydukes candy and a butterbeer bar! Can you say butterbeer icecream😁 I left with bags of wands and goodies. Would give 5 stars but there was a 2hr wait for entry. And there werent enough cashiers for checkout for such a popular attraction. But, its Harry Potter. I will definitely return!
Its perfection, even though it says to make a reservation you can make a line and wait your turn. The store was crowded so I couldnt enjoy it as much as I would wanted to, but it was worth it anyways. Employees are super friendly and helpful making your visit more enjoyable and comfortable. I would love to come back again soon.
This store is incredible. In the case of the VR experiences I would guilty I arrived late, it would have been nice to have that fundaged transferred to a gc. Because how could anyone not go to this store and buy something, or a Butterbean. Such a great place would definitely go back. A must for any Harry Potter fan.
After waiting 2 hours for text to say I could go in I found it very underwhelming. It was packed with people and I couldnt enjoy it very well nor any of interactive displays. They do have tons of Harry Potter merch like wands and butterbeer but strangely no socks. The staff is helpful I just wish the place was better designed
The staff was wonderful. Helpful and pleasant. The store was fun filled with Harry Potter merchandise plus some props from the movies. We tried the butterbeer. Delicious but pricy. The VR experience was great. We did the flying one. The staff there was very attentive. Thanks Dena.
I am not the greatest fan of Harry Potter, I still enjoyed my time in the store. Way bigger then it looks, lots of stuff and some interesting stuff from the sets. If you’re fan, it’s a better experience. I know my aunt really enjoyed it and spent a bunch of money there. My only complaint is the queue to get into the store was annoying. Mostly because you had to go there, scan it with the phone and then come back hours later. Stranger Things did it right by making a appointment online and coming back.In the Harry Potter store’s defense, we where there during New Years and was certainly very busy. The staff was still very friendly, even the security.
This store is really well done. The check in process is ridiculous (online check in to physically stand in line) but overall worth it.They have managed to turn every small detail in the HP world into a profitable item to sell - and no one hesitates or feels bad indulging in it. Such a magical place! The butterbeer is pricey at $12, but you get a souvenir cup.
I read the review before coming to this store knowing that I have to scan the QR code before I can come into the store. Got there around 1, scan the code and saw that there’s about 520 tickets ahead of me, so I decided to walk around till it’s my turn. After about half an hour later, I received a text message saying that it will be my turn soon so I decided to head back to the store. I gave them my QR code that they sent me and enter the store. The store is amazing - The wands, the snake, butter beer, elevator, stairway..everything! Butter beer tasted so good that we bought bottles to bring home. The person who was helping us check out was Michael, and he was very nice and polite. I hope that next time I come back, I can try the VR that they have.
A massive Harry Porter themed merchandise store, with selling many unique products and arts. The store has two levels, and a bar serving Harry Porter themed snacks and food only.To enter the store, you need to scan the QR code and register your spot in queue. It takes 1.5 hours to get the call text. They are kind enough to allow you upto one hour from call text to come back to the store and redeem your entry.Inside the store, it’s super cool. A lot of Harry Porter movie and books souvenirs are throughout the store. I was little disappointed with the quality of some of the products like apparel and stationaries.A lot of the very popular products are also out of stock in this store. But overall a worthwhile visit, probably won’t visit this place again anytime soon.
While the website still says that theyre doing the virtual queue system, we went at around 4 pm on a Tuesday night and there was no line to get in (virtual or otherwise), and we were able to walk right inside. Some of the displays were a little crowded with people, and there was more staff around than I thought needed to be, but it was a cute little store. Its decorated immaculately, and everything draws you straight into the world of Harry Potter. We spent most of our time looking at wands, and ended up getting two of the store-exclusive ones (Ravenclaws Diadem and Gryffindors Sword). I wanted to get one of the spirit jerseys, but unfortunately they only had size S in stock and I needed an XS. The staff member suggested we look online for additional sizes, which I havent had an opportunity to do yet.If youre a Harry Potter fan, this definitely needs to be on your list of places to go while youre visiting NYC. Some of the items were cheaper than expected and some were more expensive, but thats what you get when youre paying for authentic merchandise. 10/10, am already planning our next visit!
A unique store experience that doubles as an attraction in its own right. The VR experience was definitely worth coming back for, as tickets were sold out the first day we visited. Lots of interactive displays throughout the store, and even has its own bar that serves Butterbeer! Would recommend even if you are just a mild Harry Potter fan - there are lots of interesting things to see and do for everybody.
Absolutely loved it. If you are a Potterhead, you *need* to come here while visiting NYC. Lots of cool stuff, places ti take great pictures for Insta and just a wonderful experience. Theres usually a long line, so be patient. Theres also a really cool elevator if you are in a wheelchair and cant do steps. Try the Butterbeer ice cream! So very good. You can buy jewelry, totes, tea towels, keychains, robes, sweaters, hoodies, lamps, candles, postcards, custom wands, plushies, Christmas ornaments, bathrobes, you *think* it, they sell it here!
We had a lovely time! We got lucky and didnt have to wait in a large line to get in. Inside was crowded but I was so swept up in nostalgia I didnt notice. We went maybe 2 hours before closing. The prices were inflated. My wand from Universal Studio cost a bit less. The Butterbeer was a bit sweet, something Id have to share as opposed to drinking alone. The desserts were amazing. Not pictured, my husband bought me Time Turner earrings. The quality was amazing. The detail was superb. Definitely a place Id recommend if you were OK with crowds and a Harry Potter nerdUpdate: there is no queue to get in anymore but some of the merchandise has changed. Chocolate frogs are inflated terribly and they changed the memorabilia Butterbeer stein to a cup which kinda sucks. Still a great place for harry potter nerds!
Wow. Just wow. A must-visit for every Harry Potter fan. The movies soundtrack plays in the background, you can enjoy butterbeer at the bar, buy different snacks from the movies (and books, of course) for a fair price, and merch (clothings and accessories, all sorts of wands, etc.) but its quiet expensive.
It really felt like you were part of the wonder wizarding world of Harry Potter! There was no scanning or anything like that, we just went in. Masks were a must inside. The lines were not bad, what youd normally expect from a fan store. The selection was vast and would fit anyones fancy! Loved the personalization area! Took longer than expected, but the results were great! Definitely a must-visit for anyone in NY, especially Potterheads!
Before I went in I didn’t even know this place existed at all. Until siblings brought up Harry Potter in NY. Feels like you walked in to a Harry Potter universe and everything you can imagine is inside this place. From the chocolate crickets to Harry’s first wand you will definitely spend here is you are a Harry fan!
Was finally able to visit the new Harry Potter Store with no wait! This store is a fans dream come true. From all the available merch, to movie memorabilia and amazing art installations, you could spend quite some time on the two floors. Most of the items for sale were unique so they became special and set them apart from items available at the Universal Studios merchandise store. The butter beer hall was my favorite because you got a chance to take a break from walking around the store and sip on a movie favorite. The pastries offered were also on theme and great for a quick snack. The lower level is definitely dedicated to more written memorabilia like books whereas the top floor is focused on apparel and trinkets like chocolate frogs and the new home collection from Pottery Barn. If you can walk right into store without a wait, I say go for it!
Fans of the series will love it, especially if theyve never been to the World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios as this store sells a lot of what youll find there. If you order food or drinks, you will have to go straight to the exit and eat it out there so be sure to do that last.
OH MY GODS! If you love Harry Potter, you will LOVE this store! We were there for over 2 hours and I shopped like crazy! There was so much to see and do (they had a scavenger hunt the day we were there)! Definitely take the time to go here. It wasnt busy at all when we went. We were told to get in line at 7am to scan the QR code for the queue, which could be at any time in the day, but when we got there around 3-4pm, we scanned the code and got a text immediately to come in. It was amazing. Also, FYI, the butterbeer on tap tastes differently than the bottles of butterbeer! The tap one is DELICIOUS! The bottled one? Not so much. It doesnt taste the same at all and we ended up being disappointed when we got home. The bottles are neat though, so we have a cool souvenir now.
Contrary to some negative experiences some potential visitors have had in regards to gaining access to the store, my group had no issues at all and were able to go inside within 90 minutes. That said, I personally am not a fan of Harry Potter. Once before long ago, Ive visited the Harry Potter attractions at Universal Studios in Florida, and I was generally more impressed with their merchandise offerings and variety of them. However, that a place like this can exist right in the middle of NYC is impressive for many who arent able to make that long journey far south, so, for someone who is interested in the fanfare, visiting here is certainly recommended. As far as store occupancy--it will almost guaranteed be packed under any normal circumstances. It makes for a place intended to be otherworldly and magical much less thrilling.
I have been a fan of this magical series for 25 years and I was blown away by this store. It is massive and well organized, the staff are friendly and patient with the excited visitors. You do need to check in online to hold your spot - when I checked in, a little screen informed me there were 500+ people ahead of me!It was definitely worth the wait. Even if you dont want to purchase anything, just browsing the shelves and walking around the store is such a fun activity.
What a fun fun place. They have just about any Harry Potter merchandise you can think of. We even tried butter beer and butter beer ice cream. Both were delicious. They have wands that can be personalized and house gear! There are Christmas ornaments and jewelry. There is a huge Nagini that speaks in parseltongue! One of my favorite finds was a Harry Potter/Vera Bradley cross over purse. Fantastic. We would highly recommend this place!
When this store opened it was darn near impossible to get inside. You had to come by early, then take a pic on the QR code to wait in a virtual line. Maybe because pandemic restrictions are relaxing but lately I have been able to get inside with no wait!Inside is pretty incredible! Lots of photo opportunities and everything a fan would want to buy plus things you did not even realize that you wanted to buy!Lots of fun reliving all the great moments. Enjoy
Nice Mercantile shop but do not expect any magic there!Nice displays but not enough magical experiences. The process of entering it is bad! We‘d prefer the option of advanced booking for proper planning if it‘s not open for public. We had to go there, scan a code and were on place 489. We had NO CLUE how long it would take and we only had 2 days in NY.A bit more magic would be nice. Like smoke, animation, surprises….
Updated Review: after visiting the store five times, two separate occasions, I still want to go back because they continuously get new merch. The new merch not found anywhere else except for shipping from the UK is what makes this store a must see for HP fans. The VR experiences are another reason. Lastly, the employees are phenomenal and make this place what it is.The merch is all extremely well designed. Theyve came out with even more throughout the year theyve been open. The merch changes out frequently, so if you see something you want buy it right away. The VR experiences are amazing and an absolutely one time must do for HP fans. Do not do them if you get motion sick, its not worth it. They are incredibly expensive, and over priced especially when compared to Universal Studios. That being said it was really fun. The employees make it a magical experience, I cant say thank you enough to them.Last comment is on the butterbeer. If youve never had it, then sure try it here. But dont try it if you dont get a plastic butterbeer cup with it. Its incredibly over priced and SO not worth the three sips. Universals butterbeer is much, much better and has more for a lot less. The ice cream here is great though.Overall good experience, I would recommend coming to NYC for other reasons and then just enjoying the store for what it is - a store.
Great store for Harry Potter fans. QR codes are getting easier to get. Butterbeer is a must to try inside. There are some photo props. You can put your name on a wand. Wish they had some music from the movies is on. Or some phrases from movies. Would make the store even more magical. They have an app to use in store, but it didnt work well for us sadly.
I am SO upset…my first time at this store (and in NYC) and our HP&tCC show was canceled. The HP highlight of my trip was going to be this store. They had mislabeled a product and after asking employees about it and being told they would honor the price, the cashiers and manager argued with me. The manager rolled her eyes at me and refused to budge. They were rude and when I told them I was told the price would be honored, they said they knew there was an issue but too bad. They had a great opportunity to create a wonderful experience and their attitude was really upsetting.
Do not be scared by the line!Use the QR code, wait in line, it will be be fast.Bring a mask.Prices were very reasonable, $7-$40, with some of the higher end clothes, toys, and customizations $70+They do not have carts or shipping bags, so come prepared if youre planning a bulk purchase of butter beer.Staff were super friendly, knowledgeable, and listened to feedback enthusiastically. There is an elevator downstairs, where its a bit less crowded.Overall, one of the better shipping stops Ive had living in Manhattan.
We are big fans but hate lines so we waited a bit to visit Harry Potter NY. The store opens at 10 we got there to scan for our spot on the virtual queue at 9:53am. We got called that our number was up by 10:21 which wasn’t bad at all. Customer service was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful. One person in our party got there later and they let him come in to meet us. The store was not crowded and had lots and lots of merchandise. We picked up some great pieces like a Griffindor Quidditch sweater, every flavor beans, hedwig notebook, pen, and Harry Potter train lego set, to name a few.A little pricey as expected but mostly the butter beer at $10 for a small cup was over priced and also was not as fizzy as the butter beer at Harry Potter Universal. Also, there was really no place to stand/sit and drink the butter beer. The store is beautiful. I really wish there were more interactive moments or that the Harry Potter wands could interact with things in the store. Would come back to experience the sold out VR and to feel the magical space here.
This is a nice little location for fans of Harry Potter. There is a little more emphasis on Fantastic Beasts than most fans would probably care for. Lots of unique merch. My wife and I did the two VR experiences, one was faulty for about half the experience (wand stopped working) but the other was fantastic.
It’s great if your fan of Harry Potter. The store is a great combination of experiences and merchandise. The decor is awesome and the butter beer bar was cool and delicious! Definitely, be prepared to shell out some cash if you buy anything. I went on a Friday evening and got to go in without having to do the QR queue.
Sweet store for all your Harry Potter swag! Make your reservations early for store entrance and the VR thrill rides. The rides are booked for weeks out! I would reward 5 stars, but the limited guest entrance was miscalculated, as it was very crowded and the check out line was ridiculously long!
I Enjoyed My 2nd time visiting, The Harry Potter Store New York, Much Better than the 1st Time, The Reason why, is because, I was able to experience the VR Harry Potter, Wizards Take Flight this time around...it was sold out for My 1st visit...It was a lot less crowded, this time I went on a Monday, early Afternoon, So I got to experience & explore the Store in its entirety & take pix of Almost everything, without getting photo~b💣mbd...
It is magical! Tip: buy VR tickets when you go. It will save you from waiting in the hours long virtual line (not to mention getting there at 7am to scan code and join the virtual line). You can enter and exit the store earlier or later than your scheduled appointment and get to do the new amazing VR rides. They are a must!
They have it all here! Everything from high end to everyday Harry Potter souvenirs. The Cafe serves amazing Butterbeer and Butterbeer ice cream. Pro tip make an appointment ahead of time for one of their two virtual experiences, and you wont have to wait in a virtual queue to get in.
My favorite store in the world! There was no line or virtual queue when we went (9 in the morning on a Tuesday).Amazing staff, very nice and helpful. There are some of the movie props which seeing as I just went to the studio tour in London, was not blown out of my mind about but still very cool, such as the diadem, wands, and guant’s ringDefinitely overpriced but definitely worth the trip if you’re in New York. Would’ve done the vr experiences but we were short on time.Make sure to get your butterbeer! Too sweet but very goodBtw, when I went the golden snitch wand was out of stockAmazing store overall!
This place is wonderful for any Harry Potter fan. It opens at 10:00am but you can come before that to scan the QR code since you have to wait in a virtual line. There’s a wide variety of different wands you can get and you can even get it customized for $10. There’s a butterbeer bar with butterbeer, butterbeer ice cream, and Harry Potter themed cookies. There’s two floors filled with awesome stuff but stuff are a bit pricey. I would recommend anyone to go here since it’s great for all ages plus you can get great instagram pictures here.
This store is a must for any Harry Potter fan. In addition to the endless shopping for Harry Potter themed treasure we also did the VR experience. It was so much fun. We also stopped by the cafe in hopes of getting frozen butterbeer, but they didn’t have that there. We opted for butterbeer ice cream, which was delicious. All in all it was a fun experience and I cannot wait to visit again.
A very well-done Harry Potter store. It does feel like you’re in HP world when you’re in it. They have tons of different items to buy, even have some original film props, places to pose for pictures, try out wands, and yes, get butter beers. The butter beers were delicious! (Cream soda with cream on top)
A must visit for Harry Potter fans! Ive been to Harry Potter shops at Universal Orlando, Leavesden Studios in England and The Store of Requirement in Melbourne. This shop had plenty of quality items Ive never seen before, including exclusive shop logoed merchandise. Loads of gorgeous apparel with fun details and nice fabrics. They carry the largest variety of wands Ive seen in any one location, as well as the Vera Bradley, Alex & Ani, Pandora and Pottery Barn Harry Potter lines. Theres an awesome Mina Lima gallery down the lovely griffin staircase, where one can easily spend thousands of dollars. Theres even an entire section devoted to items that can be customized!I ended up with a festive Hedwig Christmas jumper, a time turner bracelet and a sparkling golden snitch Swarovski ornament. Everything is amazing and theres so much more to see and buy that I didnt mention!
Ok where to start. We were so excited to experience this place! We went on a Tuesday, somewhat early in the day (10:30) to get our QR code. We waited 2 hours for our number to be called. The store was PACKED. It was so overly crowded I couldnt enjoy it one bit. Shoulder to shoulder, people were pushy or standing around in the way and not moving. EVERYTHING was incredibly overpriced. Lots of inventory but didnt seem to have a single article of clothing in mine or my daughters size. Then the butterbeer....over $40 for 4 tiny little cups of butterbeer. It was good, but again, overcrowded and nowhere to stand or sit to enjoy our drinks. People pushing yet again and trying to cut in line. I wanted so badly to have enjoyed my time here, as I love Harry Potter, but I will never go back. So disappointing and such a letdown.
It’s a candy store for HP fans! You will absolutely love the setups, decorations and all the merchandises from different parts of the movie. It’s a huge line during the weekends to get into the store. So if you want to get in early then try to come early and scan the QR code in front of the store. Usually they take 1,000 people in a day and the admission closes by 12 usually.
Very cool I loved everything in the store! I wish the workers should know more about Harry Potter history to talk and interact more with the customers. I feel like the workers should wear schools uniforms so once the customers get inside, they can feel that they are inside the Harry Potter world! There are things to improve, but overall I’m happy with the store.
Store is absolutely amazing! Of course super expensive but some items are worth it 😅 Went for my 26th Birthday. Managed to go twice in the 3 days we were in New York. The exploding Bon Bons are amazing, they are White Chocolate orange and pineapple flavored with pop rocks. Unfortunately the Fizzing Whizzes were disappointing. The milk Chocolate on those tasted like dollar store Chocolate. Wish I would have bought more but at the time was being careful on how much I was spending 🙃Very important because I was confused at first how this worked. At 7am they put out this sign with a QR code on it. You must scan this code if you want to get inside the store. 6 people max per group. There were quite a few people who didnt scan it and just went in line and were told at the door they werent allowed in. The store Offically opens at 10am. They let 100 people in at a time. But it goes very fast. The 2nd day for example we were 115th in line. It took about 30mins from when they opened to when we could go inside. You have an hour to get back to the store, if you miss that window you lose your place in line. No outside food or drinks are allowed in, once you order your butterbeer or icecream you have to stay in that cafe area to drink/eat it. You cannot walk around with it, security will yell at you and make you walk back to the little Cafe area. Saw it happened to someone 😶 so we avoided the cafe until the very end 😄Hope this helps^^
I enjoyed my visit a lot! So many merchandise for the Harry Potter fans 😍 And you should try the butterbeer! (if you’ll buy beer at the bar, you’ll get a cute mug)And a little tip - if you don’t want to wait in line and to do all this QR code stuff just come around 7 pm. Security will let in everyone, zero wait time
Amazing store with almost every kind of Harry Potter merchandise you could possibly want as well as props from the films and a butter beer bar. Just wish most of the items were not so expensive. It’s the next best thing if you’re a Harry Potter fan and you’re unable to experience the wizarding world area at the Universal Studios theme parks or tour the sets of the films at Leavesden Studios close to London or film locations in England such as Alnwick Castle that was used in the scenes for the first flying lesson in the first film as well as representing the Hogwarts grounds and where Oliver Wood explains the rules and object of Quidditch and the Platform 9 3/4 mock up at King’s Cross Station in London
I went to this store yesterday and although it was AMAZING there was two cons, (one that can’t be helped though.) The con that isn’t super controllable is how packed the place was, for anyone who could get overwhelmed/anxious due to claustrophobia or anxiety in general please don’t go, it’s extremely hectic in there. (You can always get the stuff that they carry in store online. In fact in store there’s a lot sold out so online is better for shopping sprees/if you have a list of specific items that you want 🙃) Second con is waiting. If you don’t get in by 2-3 hours after checking in just show a worker outside the store your number, (the one you get after scanning the QR code,) and they’ll likely let you in. Sometimes the automated message, (that lets you know to head in,) doesn’t go through. Other than that amazing store and if you’re a fan of the series it’s worth your time! Although it can be pricey, (as expected,) it’s still fun to walk around :)
Cool Harry Potter experience in the middle of New York! This is a cool store. It’s REALLY hard to get in on the weekends - you have to scan a QR code (which changes every day) that they reveal at 7am and the store opens at 11am. If you are not there early then you won’t get in (we tried on a Sunday at 11am and the queue was 550 people long, we didn’t get to the front until 3pm). I took off a star because the QR code thing is really annoying. But it’s nice in some ways because there are less people in the store, so it’s easier to move around and talk to the workers (who are all extremely friendly). The inside is cool and they have a bunch of different knick nacks - clothes, toys, candy, books, posters - from the franchise. They have a bar where they serve butter beer and a VR ride downstairs. There are also exhibits of movie-used props which was cool. It would be awesome if they expanded the store to have more things like the Universal Studios exhibit, but it’s pretty fun for being in New York.
I really like the virtual line, however I was hoping that with it they would let in less people especially with covid and all. It was insanely crowded which really made it hard to enjoy as much. Its hard to move around and look at everything. However even with all that it was still nice to be able to see it all and experience it. Though just be careful, its hard not to spend a lot of money there.. After looking around though, we did end up getting the butterbeer ice-cream which was fantastic! Definitely recommend getting that if you go in.
This place is a must-see for Harry Potter fans. Though it’s technically a store, it’s basically a free–to-enter Harry Potter museum, with lots of original artifact props from the movies. The original artifacts also leads to everything in the store being highly detailed and authentic. Also every single associate we spoke to you was extremely welcoming, and happy to just have a conversation with fans — not salesy at all. They also had a butterbeer Bar with great tasting butterbeer. Great for kids and adults alike.
Had the best experience here but theres a really long wait currently. They have a virtual line which I think is ingenious. We got there around 11am and joined the virtual line (about 5-6 hour wait). The store will text you when it is your turn to enter the store, luckily we got tons of shopping and eating done while we waited. You get an hour from when you receive the text to get back to the store to claim your entry. Everything we saw merchandizing wise was high quality. They have jewelry, clothing, mugs, pens, posters, robes, wands, and more! The wands are beautiful. You can get them personalized with your name on it. Same with the robes! The last thing to not pass up is the butterbeer. They have a little cafe area where they sell it on tap. The the sweets shop, they have the butterbeer bottled. It was delicious and worth every cavity.
This place is absolutely magical! 🪄The Harry Potter ⚡ Store on Broadway is definitely a place every Potterhead 🧙♂️ should visit while touring NYC 🗽! The spot has two levels filled with Wizarding World memorabilia and collectables! Get a wand, a robe a broom 🧹 Butterbeer 🍺 (or Butterbeer Ice Cream🍦!), and more! This is really a cool spot to walk around and explore! They have two amazing Virtual Reality (VR) experiences on site, but you have to book tickets 🎟️ way in advance. They also have a hidden in-store scavenger hunt using the Harry Potter Fan app with which you scan hidden symbols around the store - scan all nine symbols to reveal nine letters creating a scrambled word that you can say at the cash register to receive a free gift 🎁! I wish I came here more often!
When you arrive scan the QR code outside the store. The entrance is on 22nd and 5th Avenue. Choose how many people are in your group (up to 6). You will then get a text when you’re able to go in and enjoy the store. Make sure to bring a mask! There are two levels with a chimney flue (elevator) or the central staircase to take you between both levels. Upstairs has wands, butter beer, and candy as well as all sorts of other merchandise. Downstairs has books, an area for personalization, house sweaters and robes, as well as the coveted VR experiences. There’s a lot of nicer more higher end merchandise you won’t see at Hot Topic or other retailers. You can take butter beer home in a 4 pack or single bottle, and they have chocolates frogs. Really neat experience!
We went here around 8pm & there was no line compared to the morning. We headed straight for the Butter Beer bar, it was $12 for the drink with the souvenir cup! You get to keep the cup & they will wash it for you at the station next to the bar! They have a lot of clothing items, candies, candles, customizable wands, keychains, and much more! Super cute and great experience, highly recommend stopping by if youre in the area!
Harry Potter on Broadway… enough said. You need to see this and it is worth every penny. I have seen many Broadway’s and live performances, this surpassed all of them. The acting and stunts were mesmerizing and the story line… Omg the story line! A must see. Standing ovation from beginning to end. Sell your stock to see this! Worth every penny.
Definitely take your Harry Potter fan friend here. Get the butterbeer ice cream from the mini-café in the back for yourself!Go to the store in the morning to scan their virtual queue QR code and plan to spend the day walking around town before coming back right before dinner. We scanned the code around 10am on a Saturday morning, and got in around 6pm. The virtual queue numbers are inaccurate but you have an hour to get back to the store so just plan to explore around Manhattan - there’s plenty else to do after all.The inside of the store is like a fun mix of exhibit and shop. I’m not a big fan but I enjoyed seeing the way they’ve displayed the merchandise, the various sculptures, and photo-corners. The energy of the other fans in the store is also fun to see! There’s quite a variety of items to get as a souvenir from clothes (adult and baby) to chocolate frogs and butterbeer. I personally wanted to try their butterbeer and get an NY exclusive bottle. The ice cream was very good, the butterbeer in a cup was ok. At least you get a cup out of it!
We had such a great time here getting to be a part of the Harry Potter world. There are lots of spots perfect for photo memories, and so many areas that make you feel like youre right in a movie. (Checkout the elevator!) The prices are a little high, but if you think of it as a theme park they are right on par. We really enjoyed ourselves. Get there close to opening and you wont have to worry about checking in and waiting for a call back!
A great and magical place, it has lots of collectibles, shirts, sweatshirts, wands, etc. And also it has the famous butter beer, which I personally enjoy too much. Great to go with kids or if you are a Harry Potter fan like me. I would also like to highlight the decoration alongside with the music makes a great environment that gives that magical feeling. One thing I would like to mention is that it’s a little bit pricey, but the experience it’s priceless. If you want to go there you must scan a QR code in order to get access, the information it’s at the official webpage from the store.
If youre a HP fan, going to this store is a no brainer. There is so much stuff to look at and the store is decorated amazingly! You can get quite a few things personalized right in the store, such as: wands, acceptance letters, and robes. They also have am awesome Butterbeer bar and it is quite delicious. Highly recommend.
The Harry Potter New York store has many unique and whimsical rooms with music from the film creating a magical ambience. There are Easter eggs everywhere and merchandise that you won’t find anywhere else. The butterbeer is delicious and sweet and so are all the confections in the café.The best part of the experience are the VR experiences that you can buy. There are two available; one where you ride broomsticks and fight dementors and one where you walk through Hogwarts and get into mischief. I recommend them both if you have the time and the funds.Overall this is a necessary stop for any Harry Potter fan on vacation in New York or living here!
The store is designed nicely on the inside. It has lots of character spaces and something for everyone to do. The butter beer cafe is a really cool spot to enjoy coffee and take a break. The store itself has lots of interesting, themed items and I would definitely go back for the experience.
When my friends and I got to the store, the employees told us that we need to wait in line by the door at 7am to get the QR code, which is required to enter. This was not mentioned on the website. Also, a group of customers who came out told us that many things that they wanted is out of stock, it would be better to shop online, unless you really want to check out the store.
I’ve been to the Harry Potter stores at Universal Studios Orlando, so I thought the merchandise would be similar but they actually had cool NY exclusive merchandise and cool props from the movies. The butterbeer bar area was cool and I’d love to try it another time. It’s fun to just look around—I recommend stopping by! It’s a very cool store and a must-see for Harry Potter fans.
Great Harry Potter experience!!!Here you will find everything and anything pertaining to the Wizarding World of our beloved HP and friends...and foes as well. The ambiance, all the details around every corner and, all the merchandise of course, provide for an immersive experience.Little hard to get in though.Everyday around 7:00 am they post a code outside the store that needs to be scanned in order to obtain a virtual queue number. The list fills up pretty fast most of the time, so you better be there early enough. When it is your turn they will text you and you have a hour to enter until the code expires. This is about the only downside.Word of advise: Keep an eye when you are ready to pay for your treasures. Lines tend to be long there as well. (Same goes if you need the loo!!Great visit for any Potterhead. I know I had a great time.By the way, dont leave without having a delicious butterbeer. Only recommendable for those with a real sweet tooth!!😍👍❤️$$$ 🕘
I went on Friday around 1pm and it was a walk-in. I was a bit disappointed that they didn’t have the souvenir mug when you buy the better beer at the cafe. I’ll be waiting on that. I think it is a little bit affordable than the FL location for merchandise. I also took some photos of the price.
One of a kind experience! Our party of four went during the week arrived around 10:45am and only waited approximately 15 minutes to go in. So exciting to see the Wizarding world come alive! Wanted to bring home everything at the store. Lines to pay at register get a little crazy quick though but staff handles it very well. Visiting is a must!!!
Best experience that potterheads fans should experience. I live about an hour away from the city so commuting on the train was no trouble. I arrived at the store at 6:55am and scanned the QR code. There were not many people on the line to scan on that Tuesday morning, 6/10/21.The worker that held the sign with the QR code informed us to come back between 10:15am to 10:30am so we did. Mind you the store doesnt officially open till 10:00am. There were many places to go to around the area to kill some time. We arrived back at about 10:15 to 10:20 and there were a lot of people waiting. They started to call some numbers to go in. Our number had changed to green right after they called the numbers that wasnt ours. We were able to go in right away. I do hope they change the QR code situation after reading other reviews. I wish they had reservations online but we can only hope for the future. I hope to experience it all again soon!⚡️🧙♂️
DO THE VR EXPERIENCE. Listen to me it’s absolutely worth it! The seats for the flying one are comfortable even for bigger folks and are just a saddle seat with no sides. The store though. Man there is a TON to look at. Make sure you look up too. The ceilings have things and the floors are cool too. The carvings are beautiful and there are actual props from the movies in the store.I’d heavily recommend talking to the employees there. They are all Potterheads and are truly passionate about working there. It’s very refreshing and they can answer just about any question.Get the butterbeer from the Butterbeer Bar because that foam on top is just *chef’s kiss* and you keep the cup. I’d skip the bottled butterbeer you can buy in the store though; it’s far, far too sugary to consume.
We went twice during our trip to NYC and the interactive wands were a favorite! I was surprised to find that a t-shirt Id hesitated to buy was sold out the next day! The staff do a good job keeping the flow of traffic moving and were very friendly. Note that there are only two bathroom stalls in the store so there can be a wait. The displays were lovely.
A really cool place for Harry Potter fans! Huge store with plenty of things to purchase. You can even purchase wands in the store but I dont think any of them are interactive wands (you probably can only get them at the universal studio stores). This store actually also offers butter beer 🍻 which I personally love! I thought I could only get them at the amusement parks but hey I can have them here too!!
Had a great we at time... got there about 11 and scanned the QR code... We had 571 tickets in front of us, the security guard there said that would be about 3 to 4 hour wait... we went about our way and at 2:30 got our text that it was our turn, which gives you an hour to get back over there... we made it in 10... spent 3 hours in the store... so much to see, and interact with... staff was friendly and helpful... lots of merchandise... youre not supposed to eat or drink within the store, except in the butterbeer area, so plan to do that last if you dont want to have to guzzle it down, like we ended up doing... over all a great time!
This store is very nice. They have EVERYTHING. Ive been to the Harry Potter Universal, Hollywood and the Warner Bros, London and now this awesome store in NYC.The staff are amazing. I wish I could remember all their names but Brandon (evening security), Kazandra, Tyler, Adam, Amanda , Ty to name a few exceptional people. Everyone should experience this fun and amazing store and the staff that makes the wait worthwhile.
Came here i think maybe 3 days after they opened? Took about 4 hours to get in, not sure how they are doing entries now a few months after the grand opening. I will say though the ButterBeer tastes great, and is a main reason we went there. Harry Potter fans will love it.
If youre a Harry Potter fan, go here. This place has almost everything. This has Harry Potter merch that is for babies, adults, and everything in-between. Ive looked online for many items but the exclusives here are wonderful. They have things over the top and understated. The butter beer is delicious and better than what comes in those bottles. They also have a room with hard to find art, cards, and more. When busy, this can be hard to get into, but its worth the effort. The staff is kind and helpful. This place is awesome.
Must visit for HP Fans. If youre in NYC, and looking to spend anywhere between ½ hr to 2-3 hours, this is the place to go!They have so many different things to shop here. Its amazing just to see the different merchandise even if youre not looking to buy.Be sure you enter from the 5th Avenue side thats where the entrance is. You can spend a lot of time browsing through the merchandise, or books (they even have the Mina Lima collection) or just stop by for a quick browse and the BUTTERBEER BAR!Yes, they sell a glass of butterbeer there along with some other snacks. The butterbeer + the memorabilia cup they serve in is for you to take home (!!) For $12. They also sell bottled butterbeer. The staff is very friendly and helpful.Definitely recommend.
It was amazing but very busy and you have to make reservation by scanning a barcode to get a place in line. There were almost 400 people ahead of me when I scanned the code and it took 2 hours but we didn’t have to stay there the whole time. The ride was also sold out for a month. The butter beer was so good.
This was incredibly fun! Theres a long wait ticket system to control crowds inside the location, so I suggest getting their early.I arrived later in the day and was able to enter via a different method so I cant give too much feedback on the ticket wait system. The location was super fun! As soon as you walked in, you stepped into the wizarding world! Props from the movies littered the store like a museum. I really loved it. The spiral staircase mimicking Dumbledores office entrance and the decent down into the darker side of the wizarding world was fun.We werent able to ride any of the experiences, however the Butterbeer was good enough of a reason that it was all okay! I hope this location offers frozen Butterbeer in the future, the ice cream was great 😃👍We left with some merchandise and the manager/employees were super kind. I will definitely be visiting again to experience all it has to offer.

2022-05-15Reserve your entry in advance. I had to wait like 2h to get in. I visited it in November 2022 and that waiting time was probably because of the pandemic. The store is gorgeous! It’s a little piece of Harry Potter in NYC. However we had to decide very carefully on what to buy because the prices are SUPER high. Kinda hard to be a Harry Potter fan!

2022-06-01The store was amazing. If you are a Harry Potter fan its a must see. They have regular Butterbeer only. They do not serve hot or frosted. It was $12 for that and a souvenir cup. MANY different items in the shop. We did not go down to the cellar. Would recommend.

2022-03-20If you like the Potterverse even a little, you should go to this “first if it’s kind” store dedicated to all things Harry Potter. We went on a weekday so there was no line however it was still very busy. I understand there’s a QR code you can scan so you can be notified when it’s your turn to go in on the busier days. They serve both butter beer and ice cream and the store is full of merchandise and props from the films at somewhat reasonable prices. This can be a fun 20-30 minutes if you’re into it.

2022-05-09We first visited in August of 2021. The store was very busy and we had to scan a QR code for the virtual line. This was a wonderful thing because we could explore the area while we waited for our turn. We were in the city for 4 days and visited the store 3 days because my daughter was obsessed. We came back again during Christmas time and again had to scan the QR code. I loved the aspect of the virtual line. I think they do a fantastic job managing large crowds. There is so much to see.We played a little scavenger hunt game throughout the store and were awarded a pin when we completed it. Overall a very cool experience and we cant wait to visit again.

2022-06-03Loved this store. If you are a HP fan its a must. I loved being able to scan the key codes to get more information and hidden secrets. I could spend hours in the store and never get bored. The Butterbeer was delicious, and things inside the store were reasonably priced

2022-06-07Its the Harry Potter store!! I went on a Saturday afternoon, it was so busy because because its in New York City. Inside were 2 floors a Harry Potter merchandise and some props that they use in the movies it was very cool to see all of the decor. There was also a area where you could buy snacks/ dessert. So go in you Muggles and enjoy the atmosphere!

2022-02-13We visited on a Friday and Saturday and had no problem getting into the store. We read online and where fully prepared to scan a code and wait, however both times we just walked right in. The store had a great selection and was very reasonably priced for merchandise compared to Universal Studios. The butter beer was lackluster however compared to what you can get at the parks and the 4d experience was overpriced.

2022-03-01If you love HP you will be satisfied. A lot of things to buy, see and enjoy. It took me almost hour and a half to go around the store. At the end, I had the butter beer. Prices are, as expected, little bit high, but worthy.
