Quick service without an appointment. Got an oil change in less than 1 hour. However, they didnt change my oil filter. Really? Who needs to actually SAY to give me a new filter? So the 5 quarts of new expensive full synthetic oil totally contaminated with contents of the old old in old filter. My bad?
Took my truck to get a simple tire rotation done and they broke the drivers side break line by pulling my tire off and tried saying that it was originally bad. Then promptly said they would have it towed home for me for free but that they wouldnt fix it even when I offered to pay for their mistake. Tow truck driver even stated it must be their fault when they were doing a 250 dollar tow for nothing. Needless to say next time I need something as simple as a tire rotation it wont be done at harrys in Auburn
Very knowledgeable, honest, & dont try to sell you unnecessary parts or fix whats not broke. Ive brought my own new & used parts many times for 3 of our vehicles that range from 2003 to 2010, they have no problem using them. Quick oil changes. Ill say no ones perfect, but these guys run a very good ship overall. A rarity in the car repair business.
They rob you. Went in to get an inspection done they tried to fail my car due to license plate lights made it so the only way I could get my car back was if I paid for new ones through them and them only. Wouldn’t let me take my car to have the work done with out charging way more to finish the inspection after. Wouldn’t let me do it myself there. Now paying way more for something small and simple and cheap that I could have done at home.
These reviews...LOL ridiculous. Ive had a TON of work done at Harrys on 2 different vehicles and have absolutely nothing but great things to say about every person that works there. My wife lost power steering in her 2013 ford escape. We continued to drive it and save for the parts and labor (we were quoted $3800 through a Ford dealership to replace the the faulty electronic steering rack and pinion). Not long after the CV axle LITERALLY snapped in half. My wife called another shop, they were rude to her so she called harrys. They were polite and professional! They came WAY out of town to get her car IMMEDIATELY. They replaced the CV, electronic rack and pinion (no power steering fluid, the 2013s are all electrical. Its a complete front end replacement), fuel pressure sensor and some other odds and ends for $1800! TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS LESS THAN WE WERE ORIGINALLY QUOTED THROUGH A DEALER. So, that in my book is a score. After a couple months after replacing the front end the brand new tires wore completely bald. We called Harrys and let them know the new front end was wearing out tires incredibly fast. Next day we dropped it off. They replaced BOTH front tires with brand new comparable tires FREE OF CHARGE plus did ANOTHER alignment. They didnt even charge an hourly rate.I had a serious wiring issue with my truck, a 2009 Nissan Frontier. I took it to 2 shops that couldnt seem to figure it out...though they still charged me hourly for work they never fixed. The issue was the running/marker lights stayed on ALL THE TIME. Whether the keys were on/off or even in the truck. I had to unhook the battery every time i shut the truck off. Called Harrys, got it in super fast. They traced wires for HOURS trying to find the faulty short. 6 hours they fiddled with it after FINALLY coming to a conclusion and fixing the problem (after calling me to confirm i wanted it done). I was charged ONE hour labor plus parts. 6 hours they worked on it and charged me for an hour! Seriously. After all that the motor went on my nissan truck. Another shop replaced the motor under warranty. After 5 weeks i finally get it back from that shop. I drove it 89 miles when it starts pouring antifreeze out. Called Harrys and again they got it in on the spot, that day, no questions asked. They replaced the part in a timely fashion and sent me on my way at an incredibly reasonable price.I then had another wiring issue. Called harrys, got it in that day, fixed in no time. I was charged 1 hours work. Thats it. They even fixed OTHER PROBLEMS at ZERO additional cost. Small problems but still shop worthy, labor and parts costly fixes. The guys at Harrys have ALWAYS treated my wife and i amazingly well. Always polite, kind and FAST at fixing any issues and always go above and beyond for us. With all the experiences my wife and i have had with Harrys we can both say with confidence that we highly recommend Harrys for any and all of your vehicle troubles. Even their tow truck drivers are fast, polite and professional!Trust a persons word that has had MANY experiences with Harrys and other shops (unfortunately...because i bought from a POS dealer with both vehicles) I wont take my vehicles anywhere else. From simple oil changes to replacing the engine i will continue to take my vehicles to Harrys. My name is Shane Kirkey, my wife is Sarah Kirkey. We trust and recommend Harrys.
Have been taking my vehicles here for years. Most recently I needed new brakes and they did the job quick and for a great price. I trust these guys for good customer service and honest work - hard to find with these kinds of businesses, especially for a young woman. They have picked me up and dropped me off when they need the car all day, I buy tires from them, and they actually have the best price on windshield wipers! They make it easy to be a loyal client!
Ive been taking my vehicles to Harrys for nearly 20 years now. The guys are honest, helpful and quick, and always get the job done right. My last visit was caused by a flat. They took me in right away, got the tire changed out and had me on my way in no time. They even had room in the waiting room for my carload of kids!
Very overpriced but also very respectful of my vehicle, making sure to put a floor cover in the foot well, even though my car is clearly not the most cleanly. They didnt make a mess of my rims when mounting tires, and got my work done first thing in the morning when I left my car overnight.
Harry’s Tire is the only place I would bring my car. For someone like me, who does not know much about car repair, it is extremely valuable to have someone I completely trust. I know when I bring my car to Chris at Harry’s, he will find me the best price and explain to me what needs to be without all the extra stuff that the dealerships and other places try to make you buy.
So before are move to NC. I took my Kia in for some steering noises. Found out I needed a new steering rack and power steering pump because the rack leaked. My pump got ruined so . I opted for a rebuilt rack. Almost $400 less for rebuilt vs new. The first one put on. I drove it for 1 day. Took it back because the noise was still there. Apparently the new rebuilt rack was bad. So they put another new rebuilt one on. I noticed the noise was still there. From the power steering pump. I was told there mite be some air in it. It should work it’s way out. I say ok. Few days later we head out for the big move. Got to NC. I noticed the power steering noise isn’t getting better. Kinda sounding worse. So I take it to Kia dealership in NC. They say you need a new power steering pump. I’m blown away. I just had a new one put in not two weeks ago. They guy kinda laughs at me. He says I can assure you this is the original power steering pump. He says. I can pack it up and you can take it to the garage that charges you and get your money back. I sigh and tell him. The shop is in NY. So I guess I’m out $400 bucks that I spent for a new pump and it never got changed.
Sent 18 yo step daughter to simply have a tire mounted and balanced. Was quoted $25 and they said they had time. After she Was there for over half an hour they said she needed two sensors and that would be another $80. And then said they didn’t have time to just do the mounting and balancing. Wasted time and tried to scam a young women. Everyone should beware these scammers
Took my vehicle to another mechanic shop that told me back brakes would need to be done soon and the front were in great shape. Two weeks later at this place and ALL brakes had to be done. Over $900 later. Family and friends all had similar issues with Harry’s. Them needing to fix things that did not have to be done. The last two oil changes here cost me over $200 each time. My vehicle wasn’t over 5 years old. Find another shop.
On my way home from the hospital my brakes gave out. I drove right to the shop and they took my car right in. Helped me get a rental and everything. This shop goes above and beyond for its customers and treats them like family. They finished the car in less time than they thought and the job they did was amazing! Thank you again to all those who work there and a huge thank you to the owner for taking such good care of me.
I was broken down with a bent rim on my van and no spare. AAA sent this company my way and man was I impressed. I had my whole family of 4 plus our dog and their was no way to fit us all in a tow truck. So this wonderful gentleman was going to drive to my house 8 miles down the road, get my spare and drive back so we didnt have to wait all night for a bigger truck. Thankfully our friends brought a spare and he was able to put it on. But the fact that he was willing to go above and beyond to help us was the best. Defiantly would recommend this company for any of your roadside and towning needs.
Went to harrys after having a mini heart attack at Midas. The MIDAS employee forgot to put my parking break up and stalled my car three times trying to get it into the garage. And they were going to charge me 60 dollars for oil I didnt need in the car. Thankfully I brought it to Harrys who recommended the right oil at a cheap price. The best part is they didnt forget to put the parking break up!! Will be a repeat customer there from now on.
After a rough patch with my old mechanic, I turned to Harrys Tire on a whim.....it proved to be a successful leap! The staff has been helpful, honest, and dependable. I even had one of the gentlemen ride with me for THIRTY minutes just to hear the noise in my vehicle! I would recommend Harrys Tire for any type of auto repair, maintenance, or service needed. They are knowledgable and can get the work done effectively.
I would give zero stars if I could. I bought new tires in May and since then they continue to go flat. I have stopped by there a couple times since I got them and they said it didnt seal the first time and continued to tell me it was fixed. It is still not fixed and i have to put air in the tires every week. Never will go there again. Wouldnt recommend going there unless you want to pay to have your tires go flat every week.
We broke my mothers driver side door opener. We stopped at 4 different places before Harrys. No one wanted to help. They said they could order the part, and replace it for us. They were an answer to prayer...they definitely have a new and forever patron. Gonna go in for an oil change and inspection next week. Thank you Harry s!!!!
Nightmare day ended happy thanks to Harrys Tire. I had an appt. for a vehicle inspection at another car place. Made it 30 mins early only to be informed he took someone else instead of keeping his pre scheduled appt. Called Valvoline and the guy said sure bring it right in. Drove 40 mins with a screaming toddler just to be told. Sorry were not closing for another hour but we are not doing any more inspections today. Even after explaining we had scheduled the appt with them too. So we left angry. Spotted Harrys and figured they would say no for sure as they were to close in 30 mins.but it couldnt hurt to ask right? Surprisingly they said yes. We were in and out in good time and was just the $21. Bucks. Thanks so much Harrys. You made our day!

2021-11-29Not only have I had problems with this shop personally, but my sister in law just arrived at our house with her tires having loose lug nuts. She recently had her snow tires put on, and the lug nuts were not properly tightened down. Luckily, my husband was able to assess and fix the problem for her, thankfully, before both front tires fell off while she was driving. This place is incompetent and unsafe. I would not recommend this shop to anyone. I do not go here anymore, and have advised her against it as well! Beware!

2021-04-12We’ve been taking all are vehicles here for several years. Simple, straightforward car shop. Work is always completed without hassle and of good quality. The guys behind the desk are always friendly and helpful. They do first come first serve on all services so I recommend dropping your vehicle off early in the AM as they do get busy. Buy your snow tires here and save money when they swap them out $!

2018-11-26We are from Columbus, Ohio. We visited Harry’s Tire on 10-4-18 due to a bad fuel pump. We broke down on the side of the road at 4am and called AAA. Wrecker guy came and the guys name was Dennis from Pullins Towing. He was a great guy and after telling him we were not familiar with the area he directed us to Harry’s. He said they do great quality work at reasonable prices. He also said to ask for Mike and tell him Dennis sent you. So we went to Harry’s and waited in the car until 8am until they opened. Went in, asked for Mike. He was very friendly. His and the entire staff’s customer service skills were on point. I could never complain about that. We were there until almost 3pm, but I had no issue waiting. We started talking about prices and parts and he said the only fuel pump he could find was AC Delco. I’m no mechanic so I had no complaint. He said it was going to be around 750 before tax. I thought that was high, but said thats fine. I later asked him why it was so much and he said fuel pumps and specifically the AC Delco name is expensive, I continued to ask him how much he marked it up, and he said not much like 30 bucks He charged 430.00 for the fuel pump, so he put it on, charged me 3 hours labor along with a few other incidentals, and we were off again. I asked to keep the old pump so they gave it to me in the box the new one came in so I got the part number from the box. Once I got back home I called Auto Zone in Auburn, NY and the price for the same fuel pump was 233.99, (they would price match as well the lady said) so if we add 30 bucks that brings us to 263.99. That is a long way from 430, so I see it as they owe me 166 and an apology. I’ am not the type to be rude or disrespectful in any way, but taking advantage of someone out of town is not good business. In fact it’s extremely frustrating. I would totally recommend Harry’s if you’re in the area after all they do quality work and are very friendly, but in my case I would just like to have my money back is all.Attached are the invoice and the part number from the box.

2020-09-29Great service. Knowledgeable and honest. I have had to bring my vehicles to them many times over the last year, I always feel they are fair. I have used both their towing and mechanic service. They never try to push any sales on me like other local businesses. I recommend them to everyone. Thank you to all of the guys at Harrys !

2020-11-15Ive been taking my car to the dealership for oil changes and waiting, on average, about an hour and paying about $53 a shot. Needing to cut costs, I drive 80 miles a day, round trip, I heard about Harrys and on a whim decided to check it out. Impressed with time in/out (about 30 minutes) and cost about $30 and EXCEPTIONALLY helpful when I have questions and problems. They are easy to talk to and offer solutions I can work with. Thanks guys!!!

2020-11-20Ive lived in Auburn for a long time, and had never used Harrys before. That will change after today! My family and I were using a competitor down the street that has just ... well ... gone to pot. My wifes car had a slow leak in one tire, which the other place correctly diagnosed a faulty valve stem. However, after we paid them for the repair, the tire still leaked. Their new manager was also completely unprofessional. (The word lunatic comes to mind.)So I decided to try Harrys. I asked my wife if she would like to try dealing with them solo, since it was her car, and since women seem most likely to be treated poorly at a car place, and to give me her gut feeling on their service. She thought it was a good idea and was game to get a lay of the land there, since the shop is close to our home.Harrys took the car in with no appointment, just a quick phone call, and they worked quickly to fix it while we ran some other errands in our other car. They called and let her know it was fixed, and charged a reasonable $25. They told her the other place had replaced the original faulty valve stem, but had not installed it properly (hadnt cleaned the corrosion around it, and apparently had installed two washers instead of one). Harrys also treated my wife fairly and professionally. I think theyll be seeing more of our business!

2021-01-08I called looking for a quote for some tires. They had the cheapest price for them in Auburn. I asked them their opinion and if they suggested anything else. They recommended another tire that was much cheaper and would be a better option. I did some research and they where right. Saved me some money for a better product. Drop off your vehicle if you can.
