The took excellent care of my Onyx and calmed my fears as well. They called two days in a row to check in on him and how he was doing. I highly recommend them!
I have had the deepest pleasure of working with both Dr. ‘s Bethany Howe and Brooke Hutt in the past. Although I haven’t been a client, I can attest to their dedication and amazing care for your babies. Working in a large hospital, they gave such personalized loving care and were professional, explaining in a way that was easy to understand. They give a large range of treatments, so that the you can choose what works best for you and YOUR family. I fondly remember seeing each of them curled up in kennels and cages with patients during long shifts and Dr. Howe staying extra hours if she was particularly worried about a patient. I remember as a technician, her saying “ Do NOT take your eyes off of this one” , whoever it was at the time. I respect that still. Feel comfort knowing this is an amazing team for your furry family!
It was time for a change from our vet for several years whom we liked very much but it was time for that change.So glad I did because this place is very close to home, Hawkins animal wellness center.Everyone was patient & respectful with my panics.Reasonable in price as anywhere you would go these days. Very fair. Very clean. Great atmosphere.The doctor is so patient and confident.Cant ask for more for your most precious .One of the most important places to be satisfied with ,never the less being happy with.A+ for Sam and Jennifer.
Incredible experience with Dr. Howe and her magnificent staff. They are patient, they are kind and they are incredible with my large breed fur baby. I would highly recommend their services to anyone who loves their pets. Thank you Hawkins Animal Hospital for all you do!
The experience you have at Hawkins Animal Hospital is quite amazing- the staff is friendly, their medicine is top-notch, and their primary goal is to maximize patient care and comfort. I was thoroughly impressed with the conduct and treatment there, and will be making sure they are my primary care hospital going forward. Plus, the openness to ancillary and additional treatments and therapies that undoubtedly positively contribute to patient care is a great added bonus. I cannot recommend this facility enough.
Dr. Howe is very knowledgeable but beyond that...she is kind, caring and treats each animal as if they were her own family pet. She was there for me and my family when my puppy was sick and even called me off hours multiple times to check in on him. I can’t say enough about Dr Howe and her wonderful staff.
Dr. Howe is sweet, caring, and amazing. I have gotten the opportunity in the past to work with her and I enjoyed it very much. She is extremely loving to all animals and I have trusted her with my own pets as well as recommend family and friends to see her at her practice.
I go in to ask how much boarding is, we cant board unless youre a client, ok once Im a client how much is it? Well we can only tell you once youre a client...oh why? Because they might need services like vaccinations prior ok isnt that a s separate charge? No its included in boarding, ok but you said I need to bring in for appointment first, why not charge me then for whats required then with nothing left but boarding how much? Circles and circles of yo get a price, how about tell me the price if nothing else is required??? Imagine the supermarket didnt tell you the price until after thgYou spend money??? Awful business practices

Just left my appointment with my dog Havoc. She’s a rescue and has never seen a Vet. Hawkins was referred to me from a friend. I dealt with 3 different employees as well as Dr. Howe. All were extremely professional and informative, couldn’t have asked for a better staff; especially since I wasn’t able to go in with my girl because of COVID-19 regulations. Havoc was in great hands, they took amazing care of her!! Thank you all at Hawkins!!
The vet herself was great. Other than the technician, who had an attitude, everyone was nice. Most of the staff didnt wear masks.
The vet might be great but this review is for the customer service over the phone. I called asking a simple question. I understood that they couldnt give quotes over the phone but I wanted to know if I would have to pay the exam fee twice if it turned out the vet tells me I need more money for my dogs treatment. It was a simple question that resulted in the receptionist hanging up on me after being silent. My mother called back for me and asked for clarification. The woman who answered was being unprofessional and disrespectful. She pretended not to be able to hear my mother so my mom called back to ensure connection was okay. When she called back the receptionist continued to act like she couldnt hear and had a tech come to the phone. My mother then said if they couldnt hear her she could come down to speak to them. The tech then threatened to call the police. The police? A frustrated customer called multiple times, was hung up on, ignored, and disrespected and offered to come in to avoid dragging the process out further and thats a reason to call the police? Eventually the simple question was given a simple answer and the tech apologized. It would be different if I were being rude or unreasonable but that wasnt the case.
Dr. Howe and her staff are THE most knowledgeable, thorough, patient, and friendly professionals I have ever encountered. My husband and I are currently at our wits ends with an issue our pup is facing. Under her care, Dr. Howe is leaving no stone unturned to make sure we do whats best for him. She approaches each visit with a thorough assessment, takes the time to explain every detail of her recommendation(s), and guides us in making the best decisions for his health without be forceful or judgmental. Her support staff is friendly and attentive and we couldnt be more grateful. Thank you Dr. Howe and Team for all you do!
Very friendly staff! Bruce is my first puppy to take care of on my own so i wasn’t sure what shots he needed or how the whole vet visits worked but the whole staff was very helpful and very caring! I very much liked that a week after our visit they sent a card say thank u for trusting us with the care of Bruce and if we need anything please call ( little things like that matter!) overall very happy with my choice of this animal hospital!
Dr Howe and staff have been wonderful. She has given my dog many Reiki treatments as well as regular veterinary care. My dog was gravely ill and she went well above and beyond what any other vet has ever done for him. Sadly, my dog had to be put down and she even made a house call to do the procedure at home. I highly recommend Dr Howe. She truly cares for your pet without unnecessary testing.
While traveling to visit family in the area, we found ourselves needing veterinary care for our oldest fur baby. I was super impressed with their compassionate, professional staff. If you are in the area and are looking for a vet, I highly recommend them.
Brought cat for an emergency because his regular vet was unavailable and was charged way more than a regular vet and then they refused to send test results to his regular vet for his follow up, even though his regular vet sent over his records right away so he could be treated for the emergency with no problems. I even went down in person to get a copy of his results and was refused. I have never heard of an animal hospital refusing to allow a sick animal proper care.
Great doctors, sadistic and cruel male employee. We called and because our pug was going blind, the man told us we should let them kill and stuff him for display for 1 or 2 hundred dollars. They denied it when she went to the location up and down. They are overpriced, costing thousands for the most basic visits. Let me emphasize this again, they wanted to kill a perfectly happy healthy pug to put on display just because he was going blind. These arent the actions of people who love and care for animals. You should look elsewhere. The nurses are usually sweet, but this facility as a whole cares more about the bottom dollar than your animals.My mother was so upset about what that man said, crying... Instead of consoling her, the man in question threw her out of the office. If theyll treat a person this way, what do they do to your animals outside your supervision?
I went for an interview, the guy was very nice but they need some staff that is for sure.all around very nice people and animal lovers-u want a true animal lover handling your fur baby!
We wouldnt bring our pets anywhere else, Dr Howe is wonderful! Besides, professional and well educated, she is caring, respectful and conscientious of both you and your pet. She has a way of putting everyone at ease..and above all her passion for Holistic practices always puts your pets well being in the forefront. Our pets love her!
Not happy at all. I’m believing they either need more staff, or to start telling new patients/customers they are full. They are expensive, I was left calling many times for results, and more. When I take my furry animals to a vet, I expect to feel they are in the best, caring hands... I didn’t get that impression at all.
My wife deals with them. My dogs are living well so I guess they are great
I understand they have to make money but the prices of this place is just ridiculous. I made the mistake of bringing my dog here when we first adopted him two years ago.. they told us we had to give him a bunch of shots that we later learned were not necessary and cost a fortune! My dog also suffered for almost 2 years with bad ear infections. We paid a fortune for medicines and cultures to be taken, just for it to continue being a problem. You would think they might of mentioned that ear infections are very common in dogs who have an allergy to grain. Thankfully a friend did mention this to me and we switched to a grain free dog food and not one ear infection since! Now we just adopted a feral kitten and against my better judgement, I decided to try and give them one more chance. Just to see my cat and give him his beginning shots was $200, I looked up several places that charge only $50 for such treatment. The vet and staff are very friendly but I need more from my vet then kindness and courtesy. I would of been a life long and loyal client but seeing the price gauging of this place time after time.. I will never go back!
My dog is in need of having his teeth cleaned and I am nervous about him having anesthesia. I found this center through a holistic facebook group. In doing my research on finding a suitable place, I was informed to find out what type of anesthesia they use and who would be performing the surgery. I called today to inquire and spoke with Stephanie who informed me that Dr. Boutges performs the surgery but they couldnt tell me over the phone what type of anesthesia they use. She stated that this information is only provided to current patients and not provided over the phone. What the heck? This place is far from my home and I was willing to travel if they were transparent in their procedure. This isnt a trick question. This is very sad because I really wanted this place to work for me. I guess I will have to continue my search and let the Facegroup that recommended them be aware as well.
My cat was dying in my arms I was so scared and upset 😭 I ran my cat to them in a frantically hurt,sad,lost, unsure,and I just wanted my cat to not suffer anymore. When I came in my cat was still alive they rushed her into the back right away . And a few minutes later said she just passed when brought her into the back. They could have lied to make a buck so that was awesome to know there not a place just to make a buck and not take advantage. They also rapped her and put her into a cofin box. the staff was so patient and caring!! I highly recommended this animal shelter!!
Compassionate, quality, dedicated. 3 things I look for in a Veterinarian and this vet has all of them. Your pets will receive the best care at this hospital!!! Highly recommend!!!
Dr. Howe is phenomenal. I bring 3 of my guinea pigs here as needed. I love that they call the next day to ask how your pet is doing. Great animal hospital!
Nice staff. Clean office. Knowledgeable. Went only once bc I was looking for a holistic vet but instead they pushed for multi vaccines including unnecessary Lepto, Lymes, Kennel cough, ect., for a 8 week old pup. They respected my wishes when I declined. Only gave rabis & DA2PP. Sorry but not every pup immediately needs 12 vaccines. Thought a holistic vet would know that. Research Jean Dodd and prevent dog cancer. Other then that they were a normal medical veterinarian business.
Dr Howe was fantastic! She took her time, was very thorough, and put me at ease. The staff was welcoming and helpful! I highly recommend taking your pet here!
My dog Charlie has been my beautiful companion for 18 long years. He started crying out in pain at 4:00 am in the morning. Nothing we did could console him. He was unable to stand or sit , eat or drink it was heartbreaking. I walked into Hawkins Ave Hospital with my poor little friend having never met them before. I cant begin to express the kindness I encountered. Charlie was greeted with love and compassion as if he were an old friend of theirs. It was rather obvious that Charlie was suffering greatly and it was in his best interest to euthanize him. Heartbreaking experience that was eased by the gentleness of the loving veterinarian. She put Frankincense and Vetiver essential oils on his head to make him calm and spoke with such genuine kindness to both me and my Charlie. I would recommend this practice hands down. The fact that they are all trained in Reiki (a Japanese relaxation technique) can be felt in the air. Loving Loving place I cant say enough about them.
My animals love Dr. Howe - because she loves them. Clean facility, environmentally friendly products, friendly staff, plenty of appointment times. Pricey, but honest and she tries to hold the fees down. You get what you pay for.

Such an incredible environment. Everyone here is so friendly and sweet. The workers are so pleasant. The doctor is cooperative, helpful, caring. Overall, this place is amazing. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family.
I don’t know what terrible person has done this to your practice, but just know that your genuine live FB post has made its way all the way to Oregon, and you are supported. And, whether this is a personal or professional retaliation or ‘business move’ - it IS libel and I hope you get the justice you deserve and they get the legal ramifications and bad karma they deserve.
Dr. Howe was very nice on the phone and offered a homeopathic option for our dog before jumping right into invasive testing, etc. I appreciated that very much.
They love my cats and take very awesome care of them .

Dr Hauer who is the owner and mean to vet is a great doctor and would always bring my pets for her she has great bedside manner and a Caring Heart for all the animals that come through there

Took my dog there for a follow up booster shot. They did a medical examination and charged me for it that I did not authorizeVery poor customer service. Excessively long wait timeI would stay away from this place!!!!
Mary has very poor telephone manners. Extremely rude. Ended up taking my furbabies elsewhere because of it.

2022-08-12The staff at Hawkins are amazing and caring. Unfortunately, our visit this week was to say goodbye to our 10 year old puggle, Roxy. The staff were there to help us in making the right decision for her sake. It is depressing, but I will recommend them again and again for healthy pets and sick pets alike.

2022-05-16Let me start with a new patient has to pay up front. I had to send a credit card payment before they would make an appointment. Then when i had the appointment they did not apply the $ 62.00 payment that was made 3 days prior and double billed me. I went there for the first time last week, it was recommended by a co worker. My dog was limping and had dark urine. They did blood work and urine test. When they called with a plan of care i did not feel it was what we were comfortable doing. I called my old vet and they got my dog in same day and asked for her labs/Urine. When i called here they said i needed to sign a record release which i did and faxed it back immediately (10:27 am) they went on to say the records would not be released to my vet until after 3pm when the owner reviews and approves of the request. I explained my dog was not peeing and its important her that vet knows what test were performed to move forward with a treatment plan. Amy the manager stated they never make an exception and release records until the owner approves, my vet even called to get a verbal and they were refused. This is horrible. Its not a well visit. its a sick visit and its only 1 week ago and 2 test were done. HIPPA states a signed record release is what is required not an owners approval. I pleaded with Amy to make an exception and she refused. Finally she stated she would reach out to the owner like i was asking, but they never sent anything. The website boasts about wellness and care this to me is very far from that. Under the circumstance they could have made 1 exception, its cruel. I would not recommend this practice for your beloved pet. ZERO STARS

2021-07-03The entire staff was so, so helpful to my little Kitty Daughter Noviee.. Also, their follow up process is second to none ; as well. I can honestly say with conviction, that this is the best place, by far, to take your FUR-baby for proper care.. 2022-08-11Update: staff submitted review and gave themselves 5 stars. And responded to my review. No profanity was ever used prior to me being asked to leave. And even then, I accepted the medical record professionally and walked out with my pet.Hawkins animal hospital should reconsider staff who work for them. they are the face of their business And right now their business is very ugly. And yes I am reviewing everywhere. I should’ve read other reviews before ever bringing my pet here. I’m done with their childishness. Theyre supposed to be a business. And care about pets.Update: reception came out of back office and said that I should take my pet to another vet. reception would not identify themselves their names. Nor the receptionist who worked Tuesday when my appointment was made. They also Would not give me the doctors name either that was supposed to look at my cat. The dr. Didn’t even come out of office. THe receptionist came out (with long brown curly hair, larger build) came out smirking to tell me to take my 22 year old cat elsewhere. And proceeded to print out my records. Horrible place. Horrible customer service. All about money. They should be ashamed. I’m curious to find out how many customers they do this too and charge them the emergency fee and the customer is desperate and pays? Wow. Unbelievable and Unprofessional.8/11/22. I called in 8/9/22 at around 930 am to schedule a follow up visit on 8/11 at 445pm for my cat who was seen at emergency over weekend. I arrived at the office at 4:45 for my cat‘s visit I was advised that they did not have their appointment noted in the calendar then they told me that the only way that they would see her is if she is seen as an emergency visit which means an extra fee. I showed them my cell phone and their number was in my outgoing calls when I called at 9:36 AM on 8/9/22 and they still are going to be charging me the emergency visit. They would not give me the name of the receptionist that worked that morning that made the appointment on August 9 for 8/11. very bad customer service bad attitude very unhappy with this place. Looking to see if someone else would see me.

2020-11-23All of the staff are extremely caring and kind. They treated my dog like she was one of their own and gave us the best advice for how to treat her red eye. They even called today to ask how she was holding up. Thanks to everyone at Hawkins Animal Hospital!

2021-09-29This place is amazing and Dr. Howe is an amazing vet. My dog Tala who is a shiba inu, had an over grown dew claw. I usually take her to a groomer to have her nails cut. I noticed they didnt cut her dew claw and it had grown onto her pad. Tala isnt always friendly with new people who want to cut her nails, OK she turns into Cujo.. I unfortunately couldnt afford the care she deserves, writing google reviews aint paying the vet bill. They were able to work with me and come up with a payment that I could afford. I am so thankful to the entire staff.

2021-08-14This was the worst vet Ive ever been to. I was a new client and my dogs needed a full work up , I understand costly for that. They needed 2nd round of shots that on paperwork seem to be paid for, nope no explanation just hundreds for more dollars that just needs to be handed to them for terrible work . They say the clip your dogs nails as a courtesy, yeah no . Didnt happen 2x I was there . The vet tech who was constantly speaking over me and wouldnt let me finish a sentence needs to be fired . WORST VET SPOT EVER .
