My wife and I have been staying at Hayden LIC for a year.We explicitly told the salesperson that were looking for something quiet. We were leased an apartment across the street from a construction site by the same company and werent told. Were woken up every day at 7. The details were burried in a 80 page leasing document, instead. We were sold on the amenities, but theyve been made so incredibly difficult to use that theyre essentially unused. We have to sign up, go to the amenity, typically nobody is there, so we have to go to front desk, wait 20 minutes, then get let in. If you need to go to the bathroom or something of the short, youre locked on the roof, so you need to call someone to let you out.It just feels like the apartment is poorly managed with a customer base thats just unhappy. We get letters outside our door to join some class action lawsuit. Ive only talked to the building manager once, where I was trying to use the gym after signing up for it, and after showing up a tad bit early, I was told I couldnt use the gym. It feels like the building manager wants a fiefdom to run. That said, most of the staff, the front desk, the maintenance staff, are all great. I think theres just an ethics/management issue.I think most of the problems can be solved with good management:- Be honest to your customers with respect to what theyre getting- Have better workflows if youre selling customers on amenities, or dont even sell on them- Have competent, non-power hungry management run the building
Great place to live! For those of you like myself who commute daily into the City -the proximity to the subways definitely makes this one of the best places to live right outside of Manhattan. The building is well maintained and offers an array of excellent amenities-my favorite being the Pet Spa! Those of you with fur-babies will love it! The staff here is incredible. They are always willing to go the extra mile to make sure that the tenants are taken care of. In addition to a great staff, management does a wonderful job in putting together events that give the tenants the opportunity to get to know one another making everyone in the building feel like they are a part of a community. I definitely recommend the Hayden if you are looking for a new home!
My husband and I lived in Hayden in 2017 as one of their first tenants. I’ve decided to write a review only now after having lived in 4 other luxury buildings in Long Island City. I will honestly say that no building is perfect, but I think Hayden is one of the best apartment buildings in the LIC neighborhood.Pros:1. We never had major issues inside our apartment.2. The building staff and front desk are the best! You always feel great coming home with people greeting you with a smile every time. They were all extremely professional.3. We did not hear noise from our neighbors. If they were ever yelling, it was muffled and you can barely hear them. Trust me, Ive lived in an apartment where you can TRULY hear your neighbors from paper thin walls and Hayden is not one of those buildings. My other neighbor always had people over and I never heard them. Only when they were passing in the hallway which is normal.4. Its a very clean building.5. They have one of the best amenities in the neighborhood and have a lot of spaces to lounge and relax, do work, or hangout with a friend.6. The gym is really nice and a good size for the building7. Their laundry room is nice, big and always clean (though every apartment has its own laundry, I used the one in the laundry room for my comforters)8. The interior construction and finishes of the apartments are well made, perfectly painted and no scratches anywhere. We moved to another Rockrose building after Hayden and it was not the same quality.Cons:I don’t really have bad things to say about this building. There were only two things that stood out to me, though I did not think it was that bad.1. There was one time when my husband and I had friends over and we bought grocery to grill food on the rooftop. We put them in the fridge briefly while we prepared the grill and when we came back, someone had stolen everything. Our beers, meat and snacks were all gone. We complained to the building manager at the time and he rudely told us that there’s nothing he can do about that and it was not his problem. We worried that time that if we had any other issues, that he may not be reliable. Thankfully, we didn’t have any other issues.2. The heater wasn’t working properly in the winter BUT we never officially put a complaint about it since it did not bother us much but I thought of putting it here incase someone would be bothered by it, because I would want to know as much as I could before moving into a building. We left Hayden because a new construction was going to start when our lease was over and it was going to be right in front of our apartment. We were worried of living a whole year full of noise and because our view and sunlight was definitely going to be obstructed. But after experiencing WAY worse problems in other luxury buildings, this felt so minor. If there’s one thing I can tell you about living in New York, is that if you’ve found a GREAT apartment, DO NOT LEAVE. There’s a risk of having worse problems in other buildings.
Having lived in Midtown for most of my adult life moving to LIC was definitely not on my radar but I am extremely glad I made the move. What’s not to love?? The Hayden offers the luxury I came to expect of the City minus the cost. It is only one stop away from Midtown making it the perfect location- a place where you have an easy commute to Midtown but just far enough where you can get away from the hustle and bustle that is Manhattan. The apartment, amenities, and location definitely make living at the Hayden a no brainer- but ultimately what makes this building home, is the staff. Walking in the Hayden is all it takes to see what can be accomplished when you have not only excellent management but also an amazing staff in place. It is evident that Patrick, with the help of his assistants Kevin and Felix, take pride in making sure they have well trained individuals seeing to the needs of each and every tenant. The front desk staff is incredible-they make it a point to know your name, which if you ask me is no small feat in a building that has over 900 apartments. In addition to all to the great amenities the building offers, management has also added weekly movie nights in the summer, which the tenants can enjoy on a big screen under the stars. This is a great opportunity to relax and get to know some of your neighbors. This year the building also hosted a building wide basketball tournament. The event was a great way to bring the tenants together with some friendly competition. I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!
Friendly staff. This place books up pretty quickly especially in the mornings so if you dont make a prior reservation on one of the apps youre probably out of luck. Great location for some major office buildings in the area. Theyre early bird special is a very good price. Sometimes I know that they rent part of their parking space to some rental car companies so spaces can be limited sometimes during the week. But if you get in you wont be upset
My husband and I have resided at the Hayden for 2 years now, going on our third as we just renewed our lease. We have found the customer service to be exceptional: from the leasing office, to the front desk staff, to the building and maintenance staff. The building is clean, free of insects and rodents, modern, smells great, and well kept. Maintenance responds to requests swiftly. It should also be noted that the buildings early interventions and response to COVID-19 was handled quickly and efficiently. Everyone at The Hayden has made us feel welcomed and at home since the first day we moved in! There are just too many names to mention individually, as we have found all staff to be truly exceptional.
Walls are paper thin here. My neighbor has loud parties at least 3 times a week going from around 9pm to as late as 4am. Management said they talked to the tenant, but I have not seen any difference. At times, I dont even get a response whenever I emailed the manager or the corporate office.
I lived here for two years and my experience was mixed. For the most part I enjoyed living here. The amenities are the best I’ve seen. However during my second year, RockRose started construction on a building directly across the street and I was basically living with construction noises for an entire year. The construction lights would shine directly into my apartment & made it impossible to sleep without an eye mask on.For the most part, the staff are great. I noticed that if there was a front desk employee that didn’t provide good service, they usually wouldn’t last long there. The maintenance staff are terrific. They did try to withhold some of my deposit when I moved out but I challenged it & eventually after a month they sent me the entire amount.
Excellent building, excellent staff all around. The building is very very well maintained and managed, everything works like clockwork. The emergency supers are always on call, package deliveries in and out very efficient, safe and secure. 1 Bedrooms apartment are true 1-Bedrooms, spacious and nice, excellent amenities and a killer Gym. Had no problems moving in and more importantly zero problem moving out. Promptly got my security back. Very reasonable. Zero complaints. Keep it up guys.
I don’t really understand some of these negative reviews, I think the vast majority of the residents here are very happy. The Hayden has hands down one of the best building staffs I have ever encountered. Everyone on the staff is incredibly respectful and professional, which I feel speaks volumes about the leadership and management company. The building is very clean and overall well maintained and if any issue does come up its promptly addressed. Its proximity to the subways, the 7,E,M & G as well as the N/W just a few blocks away, make this probably one of the most desirable locations for anyone looking to live outside of Manhattan. A trip to Midtown is a breeze, Its only 8 min to Grand Central on the 7! I strongly recommend this building to anyone looking for a new home and don’t pay any mind to the negative reviews, those few don’t speak for most residents here.
Moved out after one year lease. If your apartment does not have good facing or views, I don’t think it’s worth the money. There are better options around.Cons:Rude front desk (Danny specifically) and leasing office people downstairsThe noises are VERY loud: the pipes in the wall and the A/C sometimes woke me up from sleeping.Walls are paper thin.Elevators wait can be very long during peak hours.Pros:Nice new building with great amenities.Awesome 24hr gym.Super is helpful with quick response.
This is a great building in a growing neighborhood. The staff is INCREDIBLE—from management to the Lobby and the maintenance team and porters—it’s unlikely that you’d find a more professional team anywhere nearby. The building is well maintained, the apartments have great amenities and my section of the building was extremely quiet. I lived there for two years and never heard my neighbors or had anything to complain about with the building. I really appreciated the lobby attendants who interface with a huge number of people every day and were always kind and professional. Pat Long does a fantastic job and it’s obvious that he and his team care about the building and the neighborhood. If you don’t mind some construction going on around you and you’re looking for a convenient location in LIC (subway access is superb, just across the street), I highly recommend Hayden!
Ive had a great experience at Hayden. The front desk was super accommodating with my move-in, and everyone is extremely nice and gracious. When I moved in, Jermaine the facilities manager took time out of his day to give me an hour long building tour. Everyone is super friendly and I feel welcomed every time I walk in the building. The common spaces are great, and I cant wait until the building is complete. They are always cleaning the common spaces and picking up recycling, so the building stays super nice. When Ive needed maintenance, theyve been fast, gracious and accommodating. Everyone who works there is super friendly and proud of the building. The leasing staff was very forthcoming about the construction at move-in, and since more of the elevators have all been up and running, I havent really experienced any inconvenience.
Front desk are rude and just unhelpful!!! (especially Danny, it is just like you own him money or he is your boss) When you get grocery deliveries, make sure you go downstairs immediately, otherwise you will get three calls in five minutes🙂. Also, please please please do move in inspection very carefully, because no one will guide you, but when they do move out inspection, they will look at every single tile. You might also want to check if they are ready (clean up things and fix the damage) for your move in before the date you move, since they might really not. (I moved in Hayden after my lease started 3 days, and of course, I paid for these 3days, but they just let me waited for more than 1 hour to let them prepared for the move in). Okay, two stars for the location and the overall living environment.
Former resident of 2 years who really enjoyed his time at the Hayden. The amenities are great, and I regret not using them even more. Despite all the bells and whistles, the Haydens best asset is its staff. From the front desk, to the maintenance staff, to the leasing/management team, we were always treated with respect and charm. If you are reluctant to live in a large building run by a large management company, this may not be the place for you. The sheer quantity of units/tenants creates a bit of a double edged sword: management creates rules to ensure fairness and preservation of the amenities. Some people may not agree, but its necessary when dealing with hundreds of residents and their various guests. If you prefer more intimacy, try a smaller or privately-rented building. Otherwise, this is a great place to live and a logistical gold mine for commuting to Manhattan any which way.
Other than the beautiful building, amenities, and location, the staff is really what make this the best place to live. The guys at the front desk are always on the ball, the repair guys will be at your door in 10 min if anything needs to be repaired, and the Manager Kevin is always going out of his way to make sure youre taken care of. Truly impressed with everyone! I have never had any complaints in my 2 years of living there.
Great place to live! It’s extremely close to the train, which is perfect for my work commute or even heading into Manhattan for a quick night out. I’m in total shock at some of the reviews left by other residents. The staff could not be any nicer or knowledgeable, especially the front desk. I’ve also personally had interactions with both Patrick and Kevin and they were extremely professional. As far as people hearing noise, it’s NYC….close your windows!! The building did recently change prices for the grill use but there is one open to use for free, so that’s not really an issue. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with this building.
Hayden is a great building. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and the common areas are always clean despite heavy usage. The amenities also are huge plus (e.g., kids play room, basketball court, gym, roof top, billiards). The staff recently went above and beyond to organize a building wide basketball tournament in honor of March Madness to bring various groups within the building together in a fun, interactive atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.
Turn back before it’s too late! This is your warning. ROCKROSE / Hayden (The building) has been less than accommodating and extremely unflexible during one of the hardest hit times. Instead of providing leniency during Covid, the building has instead decided to ensure they take tenant’s for every dime they have. Since quarantine started, ROCKROSE (the building) has only become more stingy with money while simultaneously removing amenities for tenants to use. It is clear that Rockrose/ Hayden’s main focus is flipping tenants rather than keeping them.To provide a bit more detail - There is zero transparency with Rockrose/ Hayden. You are not informed when policies change, especially significant policies that affect payment or your finances (resulting in tenants having to pay more money). In our specific case, the building quoted us one thing in WRITING, and when we reached out to confirm what they told us, they then, AND ONLY THEN, notified us that their policies changed and would no longer adhere to what they originally told us. This resulted in us having to scramble to pay a lot more money than we were previously told we needed to.Besides this most recent/ unpleasant experience, in general we have noticed that the elevators are down at least 1x a week. In the evenings there is always a line for the elevators (waiting for one of them that actually works). We have heard from numerous tenants who have moved that the building has charged them A LOT for “damages” aka minimal scratches or nicks in the wall that no other building would usually charge you for. Amenities that we were told were free are now being charged for, on top of rent. There were amenities taken away from us because of Covid (which is understandable), but the building did nothing to compensate, or offer solutions for, people even though the amenities are a HUGE part of why people live here. And lastly, it is clear that customer service is on the bottom of their priority list so if you have an issue with something that involves the building - good luck!At a time like this, buildings should be working with their tenants in good faith, not try to nickel and dime them for everything they have.
This luxury building has roaches and serious noise problems. You can hear garbage being thrown down the chute in your apt, doors being opened from floors away in your apt, and bangs that go on constantly. You cant be in your apt for 10 minutes without hearing noise. I severely regret moving here. I believe the entire garbage chute system is defective. Aside from that, the landlord is unethical, predatory, and does not fix conditions in the building. Funny, I used to live in a non-luxury building and didnt have these problems. I guess roaches and chronic noise equals luxury! By the way, many of the good reviews are fake.
I currently live here and think that the staff and management are doing a great job trying to get a brand new monstrosity of a building fully up and running. This is no easy task. The few issues that we have had with our apartment were handled swiftly and professionally. Marcina in the leasing office is a delight to work with. The electronic lease application and signing process is a major improvement over the traditional paper lease, and much better for the environment! The air compressor in the bike room is a nice touch. The amenities are beautiful, but my apartment is so great that I often neglect to use the common spaces!
BEWARE: THERE ARE NO COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS BEING TAKEN. If you visit, you will see signs up about social distancing and masks being required, but this is just for show. People constantly come in and out of the building without masks and no one on staff does anything. I have seen leasing agents and doorman alike help these people and not say a word. These maskless people lounge in our lobby, use the mail room, ride the elevator, it is simply an unsafe environment. I can understand it being difficult to control some residents that simply do not care for the health of others, but at least put in the effort to say excuse me, please wear a mask Im sorry I cant help you unless you are wearing a mask, please come back with a mask on thats not hard to do. Thats the bare minimum.I have seen leasing agents with prospective renters walk by people wearing no masks and just wave.I have staff barge into the elevator I am in, and then hold it open and waver others into the same elevator. This was after an email went out asking for elevators be kept to one household per elevator. Again, they do things like send emails and put up signs for show. Nothing is actually enforced.Every day I am scared that someone with COVID-19 will come and spread it in our building. We already had and have active COVID cases in this building, you can tell because of the quarantine assistance food deliveries being made here. The bare minimum to ensure our safety in this building is not being done, and I believe this is because this is a large property management company with several buildings in LIC, so they just care about collecting rent while minimizing their expenses and time/effort commitment. Living in a safe environment is a right and a condition of our lease, to which they are in violation. We have a lawyer and are planning to cease payment of our rent until they take the minimum steps to ensure our safety. I encourage any resident that feels similarly to do the same. This is simply not safe, it is unacceptable, and I dont believe they will do anything until it starts impacting their bottomline.Rockrose if you are reading this, please at least put in an effort. We shouldnt have to go to such lengths, your staff are otherwise fantastic and I understand this is a really unprecedented time. But you absolutely must do more for our health and safety. My experience prior to COVID has been great, but please rise to this occasion and show us you are serious about safety.
As a current resident of this building I will say that this is by far one of the most beautiful apartment buildings Ive lived in on the east coast. Its perfectly located with easy access to seven subway lines within steps from the building. The front desk staff has been exceptional over the last year, the former resident manager and overnight attendant was extremely rude. The amenities are amazing but the fact that the rules are enforced extremely harshly darker skin people of color (black and brown) and seems to be very lapse for the more dominant Asian residents. Rockrose should really try to do some community building and education to address any tension and any discomfort to really add to the beauty of living in the building, perhaps introducing Hayden Day a building wide community event. Games for the kids, performances, music, just something to help others get to know their neighbors. Management and all staff can also use some sensitivity and cultural competency workshops as well to learn how to better understand and communicate with the residents. Hayden should also consider some outdoor ashtrays on the exterior of the building to cut down seeing so many littered on the street and park.Overall its been a plesant experience so far.
I have lived in NYC my entire life and living in the Hayden has been the best experience thus far. The building has such a great atmosphere overall and really feels like a place I can call home. From the staff such Resident Managers Pat Long and Kevin Marrero to front desk staff such as Paul, Andy, Max, Shane, etc and even porters all are very welcoming and really make sure to go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. Amenities are absolutely stunning and cant wait for the summer to BBQ with some friends. Neighbors are also very friendly and seems like everyone is very tight knit and like to hang out with each other which is something Ive never experienced in all my years of living in New York City. I definitely love it here and dont see myself moving any time soon. I highly recommend Hayden!
Im shocked at the negative reviews on this building. Having lived in NYC for 14 years now, this has been one of the nicest experiences Ive had. The amenities are well-maintained and well-designed to be usable and not just pretty. Amazing rooftop grill cabanas. The gym is legitimately nice--never a wait for the equipment, lots of free weights, and even a squat rack and smith machine (which Ive NEVER seen in a residential building). In previous buildings with amenities of this caliber, Ive had to pay $60-$100 per resident per month--and this is all included in your rent. The doormen are also professional and responsible. Unlike other buildings Ive lived in, there seems to be very low turnover of staff--they know every residents face and stops anyone who they dont recognize. Do they all have photographic memories? Things are fixed very promptly, trash seems to vanish from the refuse room multiple times a day, and overall very very well maintained. The neighborhood is surprisingly convenient as someone whos always lived in Manhattan. Its close to the EM, 7, G, and NR, making it easy to get anywhere even more easily than when I lived in Midtown. East side, west side, Williamsburg--easy peasy.I honestly wouldnt know how the team could improve my experience here--its been a dream living here for the past year and hoping to enjoy many more. Happy to answer any questions you may have about this building!
I would not recommend this building. Like others have said, the staff is very unfriendly, and the landlord will not acknowledge conditions in your apartment. The apartment prices are just as high as Manhattan, but the customer service is not there. If the apartments were bigger than Manhattan then maybe I could rationalize it, but theyre not. On top of this, the elevators take forever, and there are numerous elevators always out of service. If youre spending thousands of dollars a month on rent, you should get better service.
I has a leasing agreement issue, they reasoned fast, and deal with me right away. The lease manager Milana is very helpful, she spent time to explaining to me. She is here to help, to fix the issue. Also, The front desk also helpful. We need a quality service more than anything nowadays.
The worst thing is the staff in leasing office. The woman working there is very mean and has the worst attitude to tenants. The building is extremely noisy and you can hear the sound from brakes of 7 train turning every 5 to 10 minutes 24/7. Heating pipes are making very loud banging noises all the time. The building has Poor sound insulation. You can hear clearly the noise from elevator open and close, as well as the sound from someone passing by your apt The room size of Hayden is much smaller than other luxury buildings.
Lived here for about 2 years, really great facility with excellent amenities and well built apartments. The full-size basketball court is a great feature that not many apartments in the area have. The front desk and maintenance staff are great! Huge plus is the many outdoor areas, rooftop BBQs, and amazing manhattan views!
Great building! Amazing amenities, and very friendly staff. Im not sure what the other reviews are talking about - the staff have been more than helpful to me. Its been about a year since I moved in here and I love everything about the building. You definitely have the best views of the city and the friendliest, most helpful staff - they even turn the revolving doors for you to get in. Also, seeing all the cute dogs walk in and out of the building is a plus!
If you come here to see apartments, you NEED to talk to Marcina. Shes amazing. I felt like she really listened to what my clients needed and overall was just so pleasant to be around. The building is gorgeous, no amenity fees + in a really cute part of LIC. As a broker, I really felt like Marcina went above and beyond. Come check out apartments here! You wont regret it.
The staff is very polite and friendly. The amenities are great, and the common areas are maticulously maintained. The window light is extremely generous and the entire apartment is beautifully and thoughtfully laid out, with accessibility features. And as one other person mentioned, there are some of the cutest dogs here. Enjoy!!
Lived in Hayden for the past 2 years and it was definitely one of the most pleasant experience for me and my husband. Staff was nice and responsive. One of the staff even caught the roach at 1am one time for me because I was that terrified... so thankful! Highly recommended Hayden and Rockrose management.
We live in Hayden for 2 years. Two months after we moved out, we are informed that we damaged the floor and Hayden charged us nearly 2k to repair the floor, which is ridiculous (We were told that we wouldnt be responsible for any normal wear and tear). I would never recommend my friends to live here. NEVER.-------------UPDATE AFTER ROCKROSE REPLY ----------We are not fool. We dont have pets in the apartment and all the scratches are very light. The paint on the floor is removable. We ask people to pre inspect our apartment for two times before we officially move out, nobody tells us about the scratch on the floor (is not that visible). On the last day when we move out, they brought that to our attention, which is too late. I understand that you may use the security deposit to repair, but the cost you gave us (after two months) is way higher that the market price and different from the price you wrote on the move-out inspection sheet (two times greater).KIND REMINDER to people who are considering moving into Hayden. If you have pets, dont consider staying here as Rockrose would charge you for damage on the floor. Dont trust the document you sign with Hayden because the actual cost they sent you is different from what they suggest before.
Just moved out this past year, was first group to move in. The building manager Pat is the worst, the front desk manager Kevin is just as bad. They could care less about you and I mean that with emphasis. You are just a dollar sign. We had many issues thats why we left. We have recordings of the leasing office telling us nothing was to be built near the front of the building 3 months later they broke ground. Never believe what they tell you. And no to your response your staff knew and lied about it. Youre an awful company. Thanks.
If you are looking for luxury, look elsewhere. The staff is comprised of aggressive rude men. The walls are paper thin. If your neighbor smokes, you are in trouble. Same goes for noise. You will hear everything and have plenty of sleepless nights. Management will not resolve your complaints. They will come to your apt, lie to your face, and leave. You should avoid this building at all costs.
Stay clear of this place!!! Everything was alright (front desk staff was friendly)until move out. The handyman literally tried to rob us during move out inspection. There were tiny tiny scratches on the oven knobs, almost invisible unless reflected to a light and they are charging us hundreds?? Also we had to pay another hundred just for them to sand a pinky size area, aaaand another charge because we cleaned everywhere else but our refrigerator and for that they are charging us 250!!!!(cleaning was never a requirement or even mentioned) Told them I’m not signing the paper that lists the damages and the handyman basically said that they were going to charge me rent per day we don’t sign. Never in 8 years of renting and moving have we experienced anything like it... Did corona hit your business hard? Why you all acting like thieves?
This is simply a great building. It is impeccably clean and well ventilated with abundant light. The staff are incredibly caring and responsive. Everyone goes out of their way to make sure you are happy. It’s super pet friendly and they are great with my dog. Plus, it’s quiet and uncrowded.
Lived here for a year. Extremely unfriendly (not all of them are bad but on average very disappointing experience) front desk. Also had a problem with my heater during the last winter, which took more than a week to fix (was keep telling me it is fixed, almost froze to death couple times). Why would you live here when you can pay the same amount and live in placea with nicer staff and service? Maybe because the elevator takes forever to arrvie; be aware if you live in high floors of this apartment. I am done and moving out to better option closeby.
Visited from out of town. Was considering renting, but after my stay would not recommend. Staff was unfriendly. I was expecting more considering the price, but the apt was rather small and had cheap finishes. The elevators take long and seems like a hassle for such a small apt. I have also read not such great things about this management. Overall, it just had this creepy big brother is watching you vibe.
Just moved out. Strongly not recommend this place. The front desk staff here is very rude and unfriendly. The communication within the management team is terrible. You never know when the repairmen will come to your apartment after you scheduled one. After you move out, they will conduct a super harsh inspection. They will charge you for any oil stain in the kitchen or water stain in bathroom before letting you know. Consider carefully before you decide to move in.
I recently moved into The Hayden and had a good experience getting there. A great team showed me different apartments for weeks, while I decided. On one occasion, one of the leasing agents Marcina and I were going on a scout and I was short on time and we had a lot to accomplish. Instead of taking me in the one available elevator (due to construction), she took me up and down staircases and helped manage my time to the minute. It was hilarious, but she was super committed. I also appreciated that whenever I came back, my agents knew which places I already liked. I ended up signing my lease with Marcina and it was a seamless and empowering experience.
They just don’t turn on the heater... they just don’t.. until the temperature reaches to 62 or something like that. So after I moved here, I am in the loop of having cold and getting better. The front desk told me they got a lot of complaints. I just don’t get it if they know there are tons of complaints out there, why don’t they let the residents have the control of the heater??? To anyone who is going to move in this luxury apartment, I would suggest you have a heater before move in. This is quite ironic...
Professional and nice staff, Beautiful building in a great location. Not sure what more you can ask for. There’s great restaurants opening up in the area and Hayden now has this pharmacy on the ground floor that has all these great beauty products. This building really feels like the epicenter of Court Square and I’m so excited to be here. Totally recommend this place.
I recently visited a friend here and, I must say, the staff was quite welcoming. I instantly felt at home and secure. The building appeared to be impeccably maintained and the aura around the building was so friendly, even the homeless people outside were upbeat and jovial!
Update: Apartment staff blatantly not wearing mask in building amenity. See photo. This is terrifying if you ask me.Today I spent 20 precious minutes just to get from my floor to the lobby. This is not the first time this happened. The AC is EXTREMELY loud on cool mode. I can only compare it to a jet engine. Maintenance politely responds by stating that this is normal. I spent the entire summer waking up in sweat due to not being able to keep the AC on with its noise. The building controls when you can or cannot turn on the AC heat. I have arthritis and the humid NY winter weather is killing my joint. Maintenance, again, very politely confirmed that its not cold enough for the heat to be switched on.The amenity is poorly maintained, let alone how much of it are closed. Gym closes at 8pm, effectively making it impossible for anyone with a job thats even slightly more demanding than 9 to 6 to use the gym. This has not been the standard practice for amenity luxury apartments during covid-19. Rent is absolutely not competitive if not a rip off based on the aforementioned conditions of the amenities. The covid-19 safety measure is jokable when you have people refusing to wear mask in the gym (yes, I politely asked him to put on his mask but he refused) and the staff choose not to do anything. In fact, the gym staff was taking his own mask off from time to time as if to set a perfect example!Other people might liked this apartment. For me, it has been a series of dismay and anger. Will not renew the lease.
The Hayden is Beautiful placeThe staff are super friendly anything you need repaired or fixed it’s very promptYou never really have to leave homeYes it is pet friendly and from what I seen so far some of the most adorable onesThis is a brand new building of course we have our days but they try to make it as convient as they can when we do and that’s what really matters!
Junk apartment with poor service! Your front desk treats residents like a pug, and treats visitors like a police officer! Visitors are not criminals, and they need to be respected, okay? If you are so guarded against guests, then write a clause at the entrance of the entire building, saying that guests are refused, and guests are only received in the reception room! We dont want to go in either! Garbage service!

2022-03-14I recommend staying at the east building which has fewer units and larger size apartments. Even though you hear trains, garbage chute sound, I think overall the noise level is manageable and the noise is not frequent. I would stay away from West side especially lower level as someone smokes marijuana all day long and the vent system in apartment building cannot vent the smell out. I can even smell it from east side occasionally. of course, this is an issue every rental apartment has with many studio/1bds units. The apartment floor and bathroom are very good and have their taste. You can rarely find large sized tiles in the bathrooms in this area. easy to clean. Appliances however are somewhat cheap.Amenities are good and very convenient to use. Usually you dont see many using the lounges.Overall good location, good apartment, I would recommend this apartment building to students, single and/or couples without kids.

2021-10-26I lived at Hayden for a year and absolutely loved it—the staff always made me feel at home. S/o out to Jean, Danny, and Edwin for all the warm smiles and professionalism. The staff are all very quick with maintenance requests, the leasing office is pleasant to work with, and the amenities are great. It’s also dog friendly and conveniently right by Court Square (7, E, M, G), which was super important to me.Anyone looking for a luxury apartment in LIC, this is the place :)

2021-10-15Lived at Hayden for a year and really enjoyed my time there. The apartments and appliances are well maintained, and the amenities are unbelievable- the gym is better than some commercial gyms out there, the lounges are spacious and usually pretty empty.Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. My only complaints are that the elevators have weird stains on the inside and need some cleaning, and that when it gets windy it gets REALLY windy - you’ll hear the wind loudly howling by the windows.

2021-04-01Lived at Hayden close to a year and recently moved to Jersey City for a lower cost apartment. Overall very good experience - very welcoming doorman and repair request typically addressed within one day. The biggest advantage is its location - very close to the court square subway and its pretty quite without any train noise if your apartment is higher up in the building and facing the right direction. One downside is during winter, the wind blowing by can be very strong, so be prepared to turn on AC pretty much all the time for the day.Lastly but not least, big shout out to Jose, who can fix anything for you. Hes the man!

2021-04-18Hayden is one of the best facility in LIC by far. The staff members are amazing the amenities are great and well taken care of. Hayden have the perfect view of manhattan. All the apt are sound proof so when you come home from a long day it’s easy for you to relax. The gym is great, it feel like your at the gym blink, without the waiting to use the machine. Everything in the apt is new stainless still appliances. Hayden is absolutely luxury, and everyone there is absolutely great! Shout out to Kevin his the man if you need anything he can differently make it happen. Crystal is the higher up and amazing, I love her! So easy to talk to, and work with.

2020-11-24My spouse and I lived at Hayden for 3 years and we have nothing but wonderful things to say about our time there. The convenient location, reasonable rent, and incredible amenities are what drew us to the building but the staff was simply unlike anything we had experienced before. The maintenance crew were incredibly responsive and accommodating and the team at the front desk always went above and beyond. As the neighborhood continues to develop and grow, I would highly recommend Hayden for anyone looking for a great living experience in an up and coming area of the city.

2021-08-26DO NOT RENT this place. Apartment amenities have really low quality. What happened to me during my two year stay was that the oven glass shattered while I was baking food (luckily the pieces did not go into my food) and the microwave overhead bar fell off and almost injured my roommate. Resident Manager Patrick Long would charge you big amount of money even if it’s not your fault. This one star is given to all the nice front door staffs or else it would’ve been zero!

2021-08-15Awesome building and even more awesome staff! Me and my wife have been living here during the past 2 years. During the covid time, the staff managed to keep this building well organized and safe. Especially thanks to Jean, Edwin, Danny and Juan for their consistent effort to make this building a great place to live!

2021-01-29No essay here, lets cut to the chase.1. Building is always clean and well-maintained.2. Front desk people are nice and helpful.3. Leasing office agents respond to emails promptly.4. Facilities are great, although you might not be able to experience them during Covid.5. Maintenance request, always handled same-day, at least for me.6. Location, much better than other buildings. You have your grocery store ,bank, dentist, subway stations, the actual Subway Restaurant, wine store, bakery (Asian style), pharmacy, coffee shops, and best of all, a brand new Milk Tea place that will be opening up soon, literally right next to the building.7. If you have noisy neighbors, then you better have good negotiation skills, because the walls will not cancel out the noise. and you have to convince your neighbors to be more quiet. I hope management can enact noise-related policies to help out those who prefer quietness.8. In door appliances are also of good quality, but be careful with using the kitchen; scratches on the stove, fridge, and microwave will negatively impact your deposit.Overall, a great place to stay.Update: the actual Subway is closed, but there are other delis nearby.
