This office is wonderful. The staff and doctors are professional and kind. They took the time to listen my concerns as a parent, give me answers and guidance, they were also amazing with my girls. After so many horrible pediatric dentists being unprofessional and are clearly trying to squeeze every penny from my insurance, rather than safely treating my children, which is unacceptable. The office is also clean and child safe. I have not waited very long, and I am so glad I found this office. Would def recommend.
Very professional office!! The receptionists were extremely helpful and knowledgeable and worked hard to accommodate my kids with the busy schedule that i have. The assistants and hygienists and pediatric dentist took care of my kids in a fun and caring way! Its good that i found a well run and easy going office to bring my kids to..
My nervous 7 year old had an amazing experience! The hygienist and dentist and staff couldnt have been any nicer. The entire experience was so child friendly and they made my child feel relaxed. It was such a great experience that I made sure to make appointments for the rest of my children as soon as the appointment was over!
Staff is very unprofessional in their tasks. I called to make an appointment for my daughter and the receptionist kept on telling me that my insurance was canceled(she kept looking at an insurance policy I had back in 2012). I stated to her Im a city worker and that my insurance is active . After going back and forth several times I insisted on speaking with the office manager and she later took my insurance policy number. Smh. Appointment booked. Closer to the appointment date I realized I never got a appointment confirmation. So I called and the receptionist that answered rudely stated that a number wasnt on file to call and confirm . So how is that they have everything but not a number to confirm. She then gives me an appointment day and time and hangs up. Never asks if the time worked for me and my child. Instantly knew if they cant get it together from the start this isnt a place for my child to get any service from. 😒
This was the worst experience ever! My autistic son was very afraid. He kicked and screamed throughout. The dentist was noticeably upset and impatient. She brought out a weighted bib to keep him steady. It was filthy and full of dust. Sanitary methods are questionable. My son was completely traumatized. We will not return.
I brought my son here today and it was our first visit. The staff here is excellent. They were attentive, informative, organized, caring and very professional, yet down to earth, as they interacted with kids of various ages.My son, who is 16, expressed that he really liked the place and really appreciated the way they took the time to explain everything to him.We highly recommend this place.
Been going to this dentist for years I feel a little different now about them simply because they have patients and some staff walking around with no masks also I was very upset I called to reschedule a appointment and the receptionist got upset said due to NEW POLICY I had to call the day of to see if the dentist have time to see me which is ridiculous... they sit around the front desk talking their personal business like somebody want to listen to that nonsense
August 31, 2021 I called to make an appointment for my son. I asked if they took my insurance and the receptionist sighed and put me on hold. She then came back to the phone only saying “hello”. I asked again if they took my insurance and she put me on hold again. She did this several times while huffing and puffing. Her final time coming back to the phone she said “I’m sorry, can you repeat that” as if I hadn’t already asked if she took my insurance several times before. Not a great first impression and I will continue to look elsewhere. A receptionist should not answer the phone annoyed and irritated, her position should be reconsidered!
Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience prior to meeting the dentist or staff in person. My appt was scheduled 3 weeks in advance. I confirmed the appointment twice; two days prior to my appt. All info was provided; insurance, name, dob, etc. I was advised by the receptionist to make sure I called my insurance to have the dentist assigned. I received one missed call the day prior to my appointment. I was unable to return the call before the office closed, but I assumed everything was in order since I had already confirmed the appt twice. I called the office the morning of my appt, and was informed by the receptionist the appt was canceled because I did not answer the phone. I asked for an explanation since confirmed the appt. The receptionist kept reiterating, I did not answer the phone and that was their policy. Then she stated the insurance was inactive. I informed her the insurance is not inactive. She stated nothing came up when we checked the insurance. I then asked her to clarify her statement; is the insurance inactive or no information populated when verifying coverage. She stated the insurance has to be inactive if nothing came up. I work in the health field and know this is NOT true. If the insurance was inactive, it shows once the patients information is put in, and even tells you the termination date. If nothing came up, the information put in to verify coverage was not accurate. She then transferred me to Melissa who stated she is the office manager. Melissa was extremely unpleasant, combative, disrespectful. She argued back +forth w/ me about their policy when a patient doesnt answer the phone and that she called me three times and wrote it down on a piece of paper. Instead of coming up w/ a solution, we spent 10 minutes going back + forth about 2 additional phone calls I NEVER received. When I asked Melissa about the receptionist stating the insurance was inactive, she immediately cut me off and became aggressive once again, stating she did not say the insurance was inactive. I asked Melissa not to cut me off and had she not spoken over me, she wouldve heard I said the receptionist told me the insurance was inactive, not you. She then said oh were having some miscommunication then. The miscommunication was amongst her staff, not w/ me. I then asked Melissa to verify the insurance I had provided to make sure it was accurate. Melissa could not provide that info and stated once the appt is deleted, so is the other information. Im not sure what EMR this practice uses, but I have never heard of this scenario. In my experience, such info has to be manually deleted. I then provided Melissa with the insurance info, and she repeatedly informed me what she was doing was a courtesy, and verifying insurance coverage in general is a courtesy. As a patient/customer, this is not my job. This is the job of whomever is assigned this task in the office. It is not a courtesy to check insurance, this is imperative to the practice functioning. Melissa proceeded to go back and forth with me regarding this matter. Once the insurance/subscriber ID was provided, + name on the insurance card was reiterated, I was told she would give me a call back within 5 minutes. When Melissa called me back, it was determined my daughters middle initial was left out when previously checking coverage, which is why no info populated. She stated I did not provide this information until moments ago. This is completely FALSE. Melissa became irate, + extremely disrespectful. Eventually, she stated, do I want an appt or not ? She then realized my appointment was made 3 weeks prior and explained they have a new system/staff and some information was lost. No apology was given for her behavior, her aggression, or her false assumptions. In the end I was not accommodated to come in for the appt that day after taking the day off to bring my daughter. Instead I was scheduled for an appt a month later. I am hesitant to keep the appt considering this experience Ive had. If I was treated this way via phone, how will my daughter and I be treated in person.
Found this clinic from insurance website. Made appointment, confirm through text messages. When I got here they say they do not have my appointment in their system and they don’t see babies at all. What the hell were you doing when you were confirming my appointment over the phone???
I wish I could give this place 0 stars. The unprofessionalism is insane ! For starters, they switched my appointment without confirming whether I could or not. Secondly, when I arrive the wait period is BEYOND extensive. Then when they place you in the room it’s just another waiting room. This is a PEDIATRIC DENTIST OFFICE & they don’t even have it baby proofed. They leave their computer open revealing other patients information which definitely violates HIPPA laws. Lastly, I went to complain about the fact that I arrived 15 minutes prior to my scheduled appt that they changed w.o my permission to begin with … the receptionist was very rude and unprofessional even making racial and disrespectful jokes about one of the clients leaving her child stroller near the bathroom.
I did my research and it paid off. I’m soooo glad I made the switch and it was the best decision for my kids. Beautiful people from the receptionist all the way up to the dentist. Everyone was patient and kind. I wish I would have gotten all of their names to personalize this review but they were exceptional and the waiting time was not bad at all. 1 hour for X-ray thorough cleaning and extraction for 2 kids. I must say I was amazed. Thank you guys for such a kid friendly place.
My experience with this dentist for my two year old son was great. My son has autism and generally struggles with things like brushing his teeth and just having the doctor walk into a room upsets him but this doctor was skilled in working with my son in a manner to where he felt comfortable and was able to do his cleaning. The receptionists were very friendly and the place looked great. I highly recommend this place for children.
Very satisfied! We had been customers for few years in another pediatric dental practice, but we were not satisfied for few reasons (even though the place was quite hyped), so decided to let them go and find a new dentist. This place is a gem! Its clean and professional, but yet very child-friendly. Everyone was nice and made the kids comfortable, so it was a breeze. So happy to have found this place!
I was very pleased with the service my daughter received. Nice, clean and friendly environment. Dr. Nassi really made my daughter feel comfortable. Extremely kid friendly. I definitely recommend him, if youre looking for a Dentist for your little one. I wish he served adults.
Brought my son here for the 1st time 5-2-18. Words cant Express how I feel about this dentist office. The receptionists over th phone and in person were awesome. Check in was smooth and quick. Once inside the Dr.s asst was great. She was easy going and was able to answer all my questions and concerns. The dentist 😍. He was so professional and nice. He was very adamant about doing what needed to be done and nothing else that was unnecessary. Great great visit I will definitely return. If I could give more stars I would!!
I had an appointment for 2 of my children, I am currently 5 months pregnant and was placed on bed rest. Healthy smiles gave a courtesy call about 10 min before the appointment time and I explained to them I would need to reschedule. Her name was Sara and she was very disrespectful and told me I couldnt just cancel on the day of my appointment. She also felt the need to tell me I could call after I was on bed rest to reschedule my childrens appointments. Her tone was very attacking. Ive never been so disrespected by someone sitting at the front desk because I didnt keep my appointment!! I called to speak to someone other than her and she told me they were all busy. I the recieved a call back from another receptionist and got the same treatment. I had words for them both!! I will NEVER take my children there again!! How can you trust a place that is so disrespectful? I wouldnt recommend this place to ANYONE!!
The dentist Dr. Victoria and Dr. Oshin was so great, gentle, and comforting with my son whom had anxiety due to a previous experience at a dentist. The assistant was great as well and the front desk staff the overall experience was great and we are going to come back.
I highly recommend this practice! Dr. Figdor and his staff are incredibly kind, patient, and thorough. My daughter had a lot of anxiety regarding dental work due to a previous experience with another dentist and Dr. Figdor was wonderful with her. He has slowly but surely helped her to calm down and get the necessary dental work done. The office is clean and the vibe friendly --perfect for kids!
My 6 year old daughter had a baby root canal and a crown on her tooth today. She sat calmly and completely relaxed throughout the entire procedure!Dr Figdor is very patient and gentle with his patients, his practice is 100% geared to kids and toward having a positive experience at the dentist, by building trust and a relationship with your children and teaching healthy habits. We’ve been with Dr Figdor for nearly 3 years and recommend him to all our friends
My 4 year old was having extreme pain in her tooth on a Sunday. Was able to get an appointment immediately on that same day and she ended up needing her tooth pulled. He was great, trustworthy, and extreme professional. My kids will be coming back from now on. Thanks!
I took my two boys age 12 and 4 to Dr. Nassi about a week ago, and was very pleased with the service that they received. Dr Nassi was very patient and made my boys feel very comfortable, especially my 4 year old who has never been to a dentist before. The facility was clean, and we were seen right away. His assistant was very nice, and also helped in calming their nerves down before meeting with the Dr.I highly recommend Dr. Nassi
Dr. Figdor is a caring professional, the two qualities in a dentist I feel are most important. My five children have been under his care for about 4 years and they are very happy having him as their dentist. I think they are receiving quality care, and I would recommend him to anyone in need of a qualified pediatric dentist.
I had terrible experience with another pediatric dentist on Ocean Ave. Thankfully friend recommended me Dr. Nassi Figdor. Very friendly staff and doctor is a Dentist, not a money-grabber. He saved my daughter from root canal and assured me that my 3 year old doesn’t really need 4 appointments and 6 fillings ( as previous office claimed ). I want to thank everybody in Healthy Smiles Pediatric Dentistry for their service.
Amazing Friendly Professional Service from staff at door to the Dr., always a pleasure traveling from Manhattan to Brooklyn to receive Kid-Friendly Service that I so love. And to top it off ambiance cleanliness and scent is superb, and did I mention children get to watch a “PG Movie” while waiting and receiving service.
The doctor and staff are all professional its just a joy been there they all seem to love their jobs and working with kids they are all so amazing with the children when u walk in it doesnt feel like a dentist office more like a kids wonderland the interior is beautiful tablets kids painting TVs for the kids to look at while they get there teeth taken of its so exclusive the floors are beautiful, they get prizes when they are done and always send appt reminders and emails when it time to come back in I wish they had a dentist like this when I was little my daughter just loves going to the dentist!! This place deserves five stars!!
Healthy Smiles is incredible, I thank God for finding Dr. Figdor. His facility is like none Ive ever seen it is above and beyond what you would expect, (tv in the rooms on the ceiling to jeep the kids comfortable, tablets, and many other activities to occupy the kids while waiting), super clean facility and wonderful, caring staff, you can definitely tell he deeply cares for his patients, he has impeccable patients with the children, especially children with special needs and I find that amazing, I would recommend him to everyone, he definitely deserves 10+ stars. He is amazing with my son Christian L. I thank you Dr. Figdor for the beautiful facility and for being you❤
This dentist is so nice. The way they are to the kids and have TVs for them to watch while teeth are being cleaned. The doctor is so nice and knows what he’s doing. I came to This dentist from a another dentist that I didn’t like. Didn’t treat my son correctly but this dentist is wonderful. So glad I came to this dentist.
Our pediatrician referred us to Dr. Figdor, so we were confident making an appointment for our children first exams. My son just had a cavity filled as well, and the process was so easy and stress-free. Dr. Figdor managed his comfort, distracted him in fun ways, and was swift and confident in drilling and filling his cavity. I wish my own dental care was as pleasant! Dr. Figdor has t.v.s with cartoons in each exam room, and a prize box, as well as a waiting room full of toys and books, and all were helpful in keeping my son excited about the whole process.

2022-02-10I can not even think of the right words to describe how perfect this practice is. For starters, when you walk in, you’re welcome by the warmest receptionists. Every worker at this practice is highly skilled but also so wonderful with small children. My kids actually love coming here. The dentist, Dr. Joe Davis, will explain what he’s doing to the parent AND the child, no questions annoy him, and the staff always gives out prizes after. Coming here is always a pleasure, can not recommend highly enough!

2022-07-15Dr.Figdor was excellent and tended to my princess with the greatest care and concern. He provided the best options for us to take care of my daughters cavities. At first she was not happy about the work she had to have done but the doc helped me calm her down and the option of laughing gas. Soon after my daughter was calm as you know what and sat through the whole procedure with no problem. I would recommend this office to anyone with small children that need to get dental work done.

2022-07-15The receptionist who is at the front desk is definitely not polite. I simply told her I would like to reschedule my sons appointment she told me I will have to sit and wait. After waiting for 5minutes when I ask her how long is the wait she has an attitude and said she have three different things to do and it is a lot going on , I have to wait until she is finished. She is making it seem so though you all are over working her how long will it take her just to reschedule a patient appointment. Also I have been bringing my son to Healthy Smiles about four years now, he loves going there and the staff is always nice but this new receptionist that is there now she needs to know how to treat patients caregivers better instead of being rude to them.

2022-01-26Very clean place. Workers are very polite and sweet. They make the kids feel very comfortable to be worked on. My child has never been worried or scared coming here since the very beginning, he actually loves it! They give stickers and even have a small play area and book shelf with amazing children’s books

2022-07-17I have been coming here for years and never had an issue the medical staff are great. The new receptionist are very unprofessional, rude, incompetent and disgusting. The receptionists are giving such a good dental office a bad reputation. Ive missed two appointments due to my child having Covid-19 twice and rescheduled an appointment due to my child senior trip that was scheduled on the same day as her appointment at healthy smiles pediatric dentistry. I had an appointment today and was 10 minutes late due to Manhattan traffic and my child was refused services. I tried explaining myself and a slim young receptionist with balding wig scattered edges started to scream at me and stated I missed my appointment because I was 10 minutes late and my daughter was refused care. I then asked to speak to the manager who was just as unprofessional and stated I missed my appointments due to my child having covid-19 and being I was 10 minutes late I can not be seen and refused care to my daughter. I then asked to reschedule the appointment and the manager stated I can not be rescheduled and gave me a number to an individual named Sandy. Who talked to me like I was a child. I tried to tell her the 2 receptionist are extremely rude and the individual sandy stated they are not rude because I was 10 minutes late and missed 2 appointment due to my child having Covid-19 the receptionist had a right to refuse care and talk to me in such a triggering tone screaming and yelling. I work for the City Of New York in a healthcare setting and as a public servant that is not how you treat a patient. I would never treat any of my patients as such, I will be filing a formal complaint with New York State OPD and Ive already started the paper work. The way I was treated today was so unprofessional, demeaning and degrading.Update: In response to the message I received below. I literally tried calling this office multiple times when my child had Covid to reschedule and the unprofessional receptionist never answer. When they do finally answer with aggressive attitudes they will leave you on hold for over 20 minutes. My daughter even noticed the aggressive behaviour from the receptionist and became frightened. Yes my child was seen but that doesnt justify the way me and my child was treated, it was disgusting and unprofessional. That is not how you treat a patient, That is why a complaint was filed.

2022-05-23You call this place at any hour of the day and you are lucky if someone picks up. I was considering coming back to them, but this is highly irresponsible for a business. Just terrible.EDIT: The response below is highly inaccurate. I have left messages and not receive a call back. I have emailed and not received a response. This a dentist office. I can understand if I felt my wait was too long and hang up. I called one time shortly after leaving your office at 15 minute intervals. No one answered. There were 3 staff members sitting there when I left. Please do better.

2022-06-14Great staff. World class hones service. My family and I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Nassi, the owner of this establishment, and were very happy with the professional service and personableness provided by him and his staff. Much thanks to them all.

2022-07-15If you ever plan on seeing the dentist at your scheduled appointment prepare to be rescheduled at least 5 times at this location. If you arrive early they make you wait up to 30 mins and if you arrive exactly on time they reschedule. Changing dentist

2022-07-17Every time I call this practice the customer service gets worse. The staff rushes you off the phone, impolite, rude, cancelled my appointment without informing me and was very unapologetic about it. These things reflect poorly on the business and I cancelled my childs appointment based on these encounters. I am questioning the legitimacy of these reviews describing a pleasant office staff.Update to my review since the owners response: Thank you for apologizing. When I initially left this review, I was immediately called by someone from the office and was abrasively questioned about its legitimacy and my recollection of the encounter even though it happened only a couple minutes prior. She never apologized but insisted I come to the office to be seen. No thanks. I would have made this update then but I was afraid they would call me again.
