Theyre always very helpful here, and everything is reasonably priced.
They were very helpful. I came for a bolt with no idea of what I needed. Not only did they help me figure it out, but I wasnt even charged for the bolt. These guys are A1
Helpful, attentive people, friendly and respectful. A local place for supplies and advice too. Nice to go to a place where you can browse and breathe, not like the big places which really dont have time or talent to care about a customer.

As a local business owner I always support local businesses over national chains, but I will not support Hectors Hardware located at 3875 Harlem Rd any longer. If you want to experience how NOT to treat a customer give them a visit. This was the 3rd consecutive time I have visited this business where they have tried to make me feel like a fool. They have lied to me, overcharged me, but today they watched me struggle with their entrance door as I cut myself trying to bring in a broken window for repair. The worst part was the employee was just steps from the entrance. When I got inside I jokingly said to the employee, dont worry about helping me with the door, and he replied, dont worry I wont. I took my business elsewhere.

Lady at the counter was not at all pleasant.Sharply spoke to me. And then the man that was trying to cut me a new car key was not able to do so and talked to me as tho i were ignorant of my situation. I wont patronize that store again.
Brought my push mower for tune-up. Paid $25 deposit. Took them a week to look at it even though I had removed the carburetor for them in anticipation of cleaning. Mower had brand new spark plug, blade, carburetorone year ago. When they finally looked at it, they wrote up an estimate for $230 repair on a $200 mower including the stated items that had JUST been replaced, hahahaha, took carburetor down the street for cleaning, $39 replaced it myself, started back up second pull, no problem. Wont be returning there again.
Great for bolts,nuts, fasteners MOST places dont have or that you have to order. Offered typically in stainless,zinc or brass. Lots of options to accommodate your hardware needs.Remember, SCREW,NUT, AND BOOOOLT!!!!! ;)
Sevice is awesome and they alway have what I need like those hard to find items you just cant get at big chain stores.

Please do not take your mower to them.. Nice people , will still buy hardware, but dont take your small engine repairs to them.

2021-06-17Excellent service. They often ask what I am looking for and go hunt retrieve it for me. Not a wanderlust shopping place like a big box, so shopping experience will be optimized if you go in with a plan. Had the experience at a big box of not having help available for finding a very specific hardware piece. Hectors shines in this arena.

2016-11-18Like the small community store. They always have what I need and willing to help if Im at a loss. Just got my snowblower back after 2 days & they repaired what I ask them to check out....nothing more. Very satisfied with the work even tho I dont need a lot of small engine work but always willing to shop there for most anything.

2020-06-02Wonderful local hardware chain, that has been a staple of the WNY community for decades. Not sure Where the guy below shops during this pandemic, but there are no local hardware stores I’m aware of, that are giving away free masks or hand sanitizer. Shameful that someone would down talk an essential local business, doing its absolute best, during this fragile time, because they “expect” free stuff. Hector’s has been attentive, efficient, and on top of all social distancing and infection control measures when I go in. They have A fantastic selection, and I can’t say enough about the staff, who are knowledgeable, attentive, and always willing to help. The owner makes a point of addressing almost every customer, and he’s able to special order any item that you need, if the store doesn’t stock that specific item. You definitely don’t get that type of service at big box hardware stores. I hope Hector’s continues to thrive throughout the years, as this true “mom and pop” style hardware store is exactly what the community needs more of!

2020-05-08While other hardware stores in the area are organizing together to give away masks and hand sanitizer these guys are selling masks that sell on Amazon for 28 cents for $1.50. they are selling them in packs of 5 for $7.50. Im truly disappointed that a community hardware store like this would take advantage of their customers in middle of a national crisis. Ill never shop here again
