Henn na Hotel New York in New York
Stayed about a month for holiday then business/leisure. Defo worth the money and would stay there again. Great location and surprisingly quiet, interior for the rooms is nice. Has all you might need, staff is great, some people mentioned microwave/coffee machine missing, not really an issue for me. Wifi is decent also. Would stay there again for sure.
My parents stayed here for 8 nights and they couldn’t be happier. They stayed in a king room at the 15th floor. It was immaculate clean, very silent, and the bed was extremely comfortable. It’s well located, although there can be some weird people in that street at night/early morning. There is frequently police walking along the street, so it doesn’t feel insecure. The only downside is that there is no possibility of having breakfast in the same hotel, but there are plenty of options just some steps away.Would recommend to everybody!
This was a pretty decent, bare bones hotel. I chose it because it was just opening on Oct. 1 and my trip was scheduled for Oct. 7-11, so I thought I was getting a brand new, fancy spot. However, this hotel was a remodel, changed from an old Wyndham. It was nice and clean, but you could tell it was not a new place. I was on the 10th floor and the view was of the building in front of me where I could see the people working in their offices. The room was larger than expected, but there was no storage whatsoever (not even a night stand drawer), no microwave to warm up leftovers, and the mini fridge was more like a beverage fridge. There was no lobby with restrooms or vending machines. I would rather they take away the dinosaur and make more practical use of that space. One of the elevators broke on our second night, which was a huge inconvenience. On a more positive note, the front desk staff was extremely friendly. I read a lot of reviews about hotels in NYC having issues with the AC, but our room stayed nice and cool every night. Also, the bed was large and very comfortable. Our stay at the Henn na served its purpose, as we did not spend a large amount of time in the room, but I probably wouldnt stay there again. However, if you need a clean, comfortable, reasonably priced place to stay without all the extras, this hotel will suffice.
Had a great stay at the Henn na Hotel, room was pretty big with very comfortable bed and everything was perfectly clean. The best thing about the location is that you have access to Penn metro station basically on the corner of the street and some other stations few blocks away so you are really good connected with the whole New York. The only thing that is bad about the location and basically whole mid manhattan is that you can see a-lot of “sketchy” people on the streets but that is New York at the end of the day.
Eh. Its worth it compared to higher priced hotels but is missing that something special youd hope for. The check-in person wasnt very friendly. Not a big deal, I know.Again, we got a good price so decide based on that. It does have a really good location of youre going to Penn/JFK.
Super clean, felt safe, close by the area we wanted to be in. Staff was kind and I believe his name was Winston would greet us every time we came in and out!!! The luggage jail was soooo convenient and the decor was so pretty. the rooms were small but not too small where u cant walk around. the bathroom tech was amazing and room service was quick and responsive
This was a great hotel and in an excellent location. There are subway entry points on the end of each side of the block, as well as a Starbucks on each side. The LG styler (sort of like a washer/dryer?) is something I didnt even know I wanted until I used it multiple times to clean and refresh our clothes during our stay! That turned out to be super useful for those that travel light. Friendly staff and excellent service. As the hotel just opened, everything is new. Toiletries were a good brand, CO Bigelow. Would recommend!
We had a king room on the 12th floor which faces 35th street.+1 star as it is a fine hotel for the price and the LG steamer is pretty amazing for refreshing clothes.- 1 star because there is only one chair and thats the only sitting option in the room (no couch or stool). We requested an extra chair so the two of us could eat properly in the room and hotel said no cant do.- 1 star because of noise. not just traffic noise, it was loud metal banging noises. There was construction going on at several sites on the street and from midnight to 2 or 3am there were trucks picking up construction waste.
Plus + :Great locationGood rooms with big TVGood housekeeping. Daily clean!Minus- :No info at all at arrival! Or..Welcome at our hotel! Nothing! like there is free gym accross, free water on the 8th floor etc...find out ourselves.-No info in the rooms-Very noisy rooms-Very loud 70ties Airo!Shower in the bath-tub! -Slamming doors on and on and on-Indifferent and lightly arrogant desk personel! No hello how are you? Good evening...what so ever! Except Winston.-Very nice the Dinosaur, but better give guests more seating possibilities.-Checking out:Nooo friendly talk at all!A lot to do here...
Rachel at front desk was super helpful and wonderful! She made our stay even better than it already was!! The beds here are super comfy. AND THERES ACTUALLY LIQUID HANDSOAP. Ive been to too many hotels where you get a teeny soap bar thats not even antibacterial. The location is great and a short walk away from Times Square & Ktown - plus there are multiple breakfast & coffee shops right near the hotel if youre pressed for time on checkout day. Before and the morning of check-in & checkout they can lock up and hold your luggage for you, which is super great! On the 2nd floor is a Japanese restaurant and in the mornings you can get coffee & tea there (we didnt get the chance to check it out tho). Toilets are bidets which was a plus (and theres still tp tho). You can take the slippers too! Only things to note from our stay was that there was a plastic fork leftover from the previous ppl in our cooler (eh its a fork but if you want to get picky Ill mention it) and that the lights behind the beds didnt turn on. I did have an urgent situation when my phone had died in the city and had called the front desk to get the contact Info of the person who I stayed with & who booked our stay (bc I had forgotten it) and the guy hung up to check in ppl and the person whose phone I had borrowed couldnt have me wait to use it again :/ thankfully I found my bud. Other than that, its a cute hotel and our actual stay overall was great! 🦖/10
Great location, great price, great front desk staff, but terrible housekeeping team. There’s always stains on “fresh” towels/bedding, they wont refill toiletries no matter you leave a note or call front desk, unless you catch them at your door and they would barge in even if you tell them someone is in the room sleeping. They wont change your bedding unless you make a very clear note or else they will just flip you pillow so you think its fresh - I use a skincare product which left a very light mark on pillowcase which I can see and when I come back at night I can see it only got flipped. Yes I understand being eco but please if there’s stain please change to a fresh set. I got rashes few days after staying and I had to make an appointment with my dermatologist when I’m back to Canada.I would totally recommend Henn Na hotel if you dont really care about stain - im sure all towels/beddings are industrial level cleaned when it get cleaned, or bedding being changed. Overall its great and safe and right above best bagel in NYC. But for your skin… dont choose here if you have sensitive skin.
Three points:1. The hotel room does not have tea, coffee, or even water! + the bed is wrinkled as if it was used before arrival. The front desk said, literally: “we did not mention in the website that our rooms have coffee or water.” I am baffled! And he kept wearing a poker face as if I’m wrong for assuming the luxury of bottled water.2. The electric bidet and electric styler are not available in all rooms, and they dont tell you which room. You have to call, like the old days.3. Temporary: the restaurant does not serve anyone except “special guests” according to the front desk, and these guests have catered rooms. Hence you see 4+ stars rating even before the hotel opened. I would rate it 10 if I’m invited.—-To management: if you cannot commit to real guests who pay their hard-earned money, then make it a private club and have as much special guests as you want.
For international travelers: be ready to be discriminated against if you dont speak PERFECT English.Their website is disguising. It throws an error while booking, making you think that the reservation is not made, but they do charge you. No confirmation email or call whatsoever. Do not expect human conversation when you raise an issue regarding their error.
I intended to book a room but noticed that, besides the advertised price, there is an important amount to be paid as “resort fee” (or facility fee + several invented taxes on their site). What resort fee as this is a bare bone hotel with no facilities?! I’ve paid resort fee in Las Vegas hotel, but there was a real resort although I still consider that this fee should always be included in the room rate and taxed as such. Of course, everyone can charge as much as they want, but this cheap hotel scam needs to be banned. Lame !
Great location, very nice room, wonderful staff! They even stored our luggage after checking out so we could hit up one more place. The only downsides we can think of was the bathroom door being so big and opening into the bathroom making sharing a bathroom...interesting. There also wasnt any drawers to stash our clothes even though there is plenty of room to install some. Im hoping its in the works for future guests since they just opened. Still, Im too happy with this hotel to pull a star over it.And now for the great things:-There was an LG Styler in the room to freshen our clothes.-A bidet type toilet in the bathroom.-A very comfortable king size bed with awesome sheets and comforter.-Blackout blinds (much needed for this of us who prefer lower levels).-A refrigerator in the room not already stuffed with over priced goods I can get on any corner.
I had an awesome stay at Henn na Hotel New York. I plan to stay here on my next visit to NYC. The rooms were spacious and clean. The level of service provided by the staff was my favorite part of my stay.Kudos to Jennifer, Winston and David. They had the most welcoming attitude and were always friendly and helpful. All staff gets a 5 star rating 👏 👏👏
The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a beautiful wood slab to sit on in the lobby and a awesome Dinosaur that greets you as walk in too! The rooms are very clean and have some really cool features. They gave us a robe and slippers as well! I had trouble finding the lights due to the fact it was so technologically updated. The rooms have mini fridges and hair dryers in them which was super convenient. There’s a LG closet that I even gave a try, and my clothes came out so warm and toasty! The bathrooms are very cool (especially the fancy toilet with a heated seat!) the only thing I wasn’t too sure about was that the side tables have no drawer compartments. The room doesn’t have any dresser with drawers in them to organize your clothes either. Honestly I could of missed it due to convenient modern updates that I was still trying to figure out during my stay, but honestly I love the hotel room. The best part was the Front Desk employee Winston. He went above and beyond for my stay. I doordashed food to the hotel and he let me know every time it was delivered. The order didn’t have any utensils and I asked Winston if he had any. He went and checked for me. Even though they didn’t have any,l currently in the hotel itself, he actually walked over to the nearest restaurant to get me cutlery for my meal! The was the nicest thing ever!!! If you want a modern stay with friendly staff and great prices definitely give this hotel a try! I will definitely be back in the future! ☺️
The staff was unbelievably helpful, even before check in! I emailed to get some information on parking and they were super quick to respond. We drove straight to the hotel, park right in front, got our bags, checked in, got to our room and back to the parking lot, which is about a block away. The room was perfect for what we were doing, sleeping in there! Tons of breakfast options around, and the bed was so comfortable!!!
The bare bones description is accurate...no microwave or coffee in the rooms. Coffee not available in the restaurant until 8 a.m., and not available at all on Mondays. Staff never once spoke to us, nor could they organize a cab for us to the airport. The location is really good, the price was decent, but not awesome. I wouldnt recommend it.
Stayed there the first night it was open 10/1/21 for our 10th year wedding anniversary. This place is great! The location is so understated and very close to Times Square. When we arrived we were greeted by David who was by far the most excited employee I have seen since COVID19 began! He was telling everyone on the street it was their first day he made us feel like we were part of something special! By far the best stay I’ve had in NYC! Bed are super comfy, room was wonderful! Highly recommend!!
It’s wonderful you can find a new, comfortable, full of technology, and affordable hotel in the midtown New York. I have experienced many expensive hotels in NYC, but to be honest, AC hotel ($400 per night) even not as good as this one. I personally don’t think fancy lobby and public facilities is that important in NYC, I usually spend all days in city instead of in hotel. But I heard there will be a sushi restaurant in the second floor. So I would be happy to check it out next time when I’m in NYC
I believe this is used to be a Wyndham hotel. It has only been open 5 days when I arrived. Still needs some fine tuning. Front desk staff were pretty accommodating, T-Rex was novel. Cable TV didnt work entire time I was there. Though there was room, there was not a single drawer/dresser to be had. Guess they expected us to use hangers for our underwear and socks as well, in which case, there werent nearly enough. The glass door refrigerator that wasnt a mini bar was nice. The area behind the bed could use a mirror (like Microtel) or some type of artwork. The wall was very barren. The showerhead while shiny and new is not meant for an area that small, as such, it was totally a hassle to use. The highlight of the entire room is the deluxe toilet seat that comes with a multi-function bidet, seat warmer and blow dryer. That alone might be enough to earn this place 4 stars from the uninitiated. But I travel for a living and Id much rather have a functional and aesthetically pleasing room (especially when your view out the window will likely be directly into the office next door. Or worse yet, the wall between office windows) than a toilet that invites you to take twice as much time using it than is necessary. Rooms were ever so slightly bigger than the average NYC hotel but still small by national standards...most anyones standards really.
Location is near so many train lines, Penn Station, and Times Square so it really is central to a lot of transportation options. The front desk staff were super accommodating and friendly. There are some luggage lockers in the lobby where they will happily hold your luggage if you need. The room (stayed in a deluxe single king) is HUGE for nyc midtown. If you have never stayed in a midtown hotel before, these rooms are easily almost double the size of a typical room in the area. The bed was super comfortable, even asked them what kind it was because it was easily the most luxurious feeling bed I have experienced in a midtown non-luxury hotel! The bathrooms all have Toto toilets which have heated seats and bidet controls and this alone makes the experience worth it (hah). Shower had amazing water pressure and wonderful full amenities by C.O. Bigelow. There was an LG Styler steam closet which was incredible: it refreshes clothing and steams wrinkles out. The room itself has no art which felt peaceful and the tv had streaming capability. There were no closets or cupboards for clothing but whatever, there were hangers for clothes and a rack and some shelves (also you have a steam closet to make things look great again anyway). I will take a large room with a great bed and awesome amenities over tons of storage anyday.Another plus is there is a great bagel place literally almost next door to the hotel and other food options nearby. I Doordashed food to the hotel one night and that worked well too.No real cons for the room or hotel. I have stayed at quite a few midtown hotels that were more expensive that weren’t as clean or nicely appointed. For the price this place cannot be beat! That said, it’s midtown west which has always been grunge-y since the 80s. Be aware at all times basically. It’s not the hotels fault regarding the area! Also I will take being near so many trains over being isolated.
Nice cozy minimalist hotel, great location and staff, and right by Macys. Our only complaint if we can call it that is there being no closets, theres 4 hooks to hang coats but thats it. we personally didnt mind, but that may be a deal breaker for some.other than that, 10/10
Super clean hotel, all new, very well located, very friendly and helpful staff. We traveled with our bottle-fed son, and the room doesnt have a microwave (theres a fridge), they kindly heated the milk for our son every morning and night. A special kiss for Maria, a love of person! I recommend!
Excellently located, modern, neat, pleasant, rooms large enough, but impractical for storing clothes or personal belongings. Large and comfortable bed. Quite well soundproofed, although it is in a busy area, and it shows, especially on weekends. Friendly and efficient cleaning service. The older receptionist, not overly friendly. We had a connection problem at check-in because they dont accept a virtual card (only physical) and they didnt bother too much to help or find alternatives. The rest of the service, pleasant and friendly. It doesnt have a gym, but it does offer passes to a nearby one.
A motel with a good location. It was the first time Id seen a room with the front door open. Thanks to this, I was able to hear the sound coming from the hallway vividly in the room. Water dripped from the bathroom ceiling, and the next day we decided to move the room, but no action was taken and we protested. There was no apology, and while waiting for a room assignment, I was even more pissed off when I stared at the dinosaurs screaming in the lobby for 5 minutes.
A very pleasant hotel for those who like minimal style. There is nothing superfluous))The staff is nice and helpful. The hotel is new - so far everything is clean and fresh. The towels are really white. The location is the best.If the price is adequate, I will definitely stay at this hotel.
As of 2021.11LocationClose to the pen station ◎Front supportI think its friendly. Also, after checking out, I was asked if I didnt have to leave my luggage, so I think its encouraging in a land where luggage storage is a problem.FacilityElevator security ×You can go to any level without a room key.HallEqual to none ×There is a room around the elevator.roomAnyway, its wide.bedThe mattress has a moderate cushion and is comfortable for back pain. The size is king.Air conditionerSpecifications to put air conditioning in each room. The temperature setting is at the level of being overseas. Please note that it dries.SoundproofThere is neither inside nor outside ×Around 23:00, there was a roaring noise from the garbage collection (see image), but it was as loud as outside.Weekend events. The noise of the people who returned to the room after 0:00 is also incomparably noisy compared to that of a Japanese hotel. The opening and closing of the door echoed bang-bang, and the crazy voices of multiple men and women from the room.It is a level that requires earplugs, so it is definitely not recommended for those who want a quiet environment.Bathtubsmall. Excellent location! It is a new hotel in New York, and new facilities are appreciated for a reasonable price in such a convenient location (one block from Penn Station)The large space in the room is a plus, in other hotels sometimes you and your suitcase hardly fit.The hotel is very clean, it is very comfortable and the amenities that it offers are those that it gives you. The bed is from another world, you will sleep excellent. When you check out, they keep your suitcase, which makes your last day easier if you want to get more out of it.The dinosaur that greets you every time you enter is a very fun plus. ;)I would definitely go back to this hotel!
The hotel is 15 minutes walk from Time Square, the subway stations in almost all directions can be reached in a few minutes on foot. Good connection to Newark. The room was clean, minimalistic but adequately furnished. The room was made daily to our complete satisfaction. Everything in the room worked.Check-in and check-out was quick and more or less polite.Breakfast is not offered here, it didnt matter to us. Theres a very good bagel shop next door.NY never sleeps and neither does the noise. The hotel has little insulation, so there is almost as much noise at night as during the day. Its like that here.

2022-05-01Exceptional service and friendly staff from the front desk to housekeeping to maintenance, during the day and at night! Super clean rooms, amazing bathrooms, and very comfortable beds. I highly recommend Henn Na Hotel for those reasons alone, however the real gems are the staff. Thank you Rachel, Jennifer, Gladys, Juan, Suki, Evelyn, David, and Joseph (security) for your assistance and good vibes during our stay. Front desk staff went above and beyond. My friends and I really enjoyed staying here and will definitely return.

2022-04-03Pros. Nice simple clean looking room. Our pillows and beds are perfect. The layout, lighting and switches are conveniently located. Love the Japanese toilet. The front lobby and staffs are nice.Cons. Toilet had a sour smell. Hand soap was empty and ask for some but did not arrive until the next day. Only provided 2 towels even though 3 was registered. Hair blower is dead. The AC/heater unit is so loud and woke me up every time it starts and stops.

2022-01-05This hotel was great - clean, quiet, well located. We enjoyed being greeted by the Dino every time we entered. We were able to walk to shows on Broadway and to Madison Square Garden which was very convenient. My husband almost left me for the toilet, which is warmed and does supernatural things. Plus there is a self steaming closet. Thumbs up!

2022-01-09This is a beautiful, clean, and cozy hotel thats conveniently located near cafes, restaurants, and the subway. We were a family of 6. We loved the heated toilet seats and the beds were plush and comfortable. The only issue we had was there was no tea or coffee provided in the rooms. Thankfully they accommodated us and gave us a tea kettle. Highly recommend this hotel!

2022-05-16Our room was quiet. On a Saturday. I’ve never had that happen in a NYC hotel. The bed was comfortable. The whole hotel was clean. Dinner at the Japanese restaurant downstairs was affordable and delicious. We walked to MSG in less than 5 minutes, and the bagel place next door was an easy and yummy breakfast. Worth every penny!

2022-05-08Overall a fine hotel. Cute... clean... and pleasant staff. But the rooms dont include a coffeemaker which is a staple of every hotel and even motel 👎🏻Another reason for 3 stars instead of 5 is the email confirmation says to let them know if youre celebrating anything and how can they make your special occasion memorable. I called to ask for champagne waiting in the room for our arrival and they said they dont provide that kind of service 👎🏻

2022-04-13We had an amazing stay at the Henn na Hotel! The beds were comfortable, and the room was very quiet. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. We needed extra towels, more soap, and extra slippers. They were quick and very accommodating. The location is perfect! It’s close to the Penn Station and Harold Square Subway stations, and in walking distance to many great shops!Overall, this hotel was a great value!

2022-01-26Great hotel! Very clean, good location if you need something in midtown, and really great service. They will hold your bags for you before and after checkout. They also let us check in early for free because the room was ready. Also heated toilet seat!

2022-04-10I had just moved to New York and needed a place until I sorted out everything so ended up being in the hotel for a month. Can honestly say you won’t get a better deal in the city than this place. The staff from the front desk to the housekeeping crew are lovely, location is fantastic and close to various subway stops and Times Square.Hotel doesn’t have a gym but they give you access to a 24/7 planet fitness across the street. Added bonus is being right next to one and of NY’s better bagel spots.I was sad to leave but the hotel was an integral reason why I had such an easy and warm time integrating into the city !

2022-02-03This was a nice. pretty inexpensive hotel in midtown. There were not to many amenities, but the bed was super comfortable! The only negative of our stay was that the body wash dispensor was empty in the shower, but that wasnt too big of a deal. If you want a nice room, for a nice price, with a comfortable bed, pretty close to time square, and not much else this could be a great fit. We would deffinatly stay again.
