Heritage Hotel New York City in New York
I do not recommend, hotel promised to postpone the date of prepaid reservation due to covid, and later also subsequent inability to travel to the US due the ban. But then they communicated poorly, referred to a booking assistant and did not keep their promise, so unfortunately the experience is not good ...
Stay away from this hotel! On February 2020 I made a reservation via Booking.com at Heritage Hotel New York City for the 17-24 May, 2020 period. On March 11, the American President banned all flights and visits from European citizens in the United States, Greece included, as a measure to restrict Covid-19. After many conversations with Booking.com, on May 15, 2020, the hotel gave me a voucher and after two days, on May 17th changed my status as «No Show», which means that it was my fault that I couldn’t travel to New York. We exchanged many emails explaining that borders were closed. On May 15th 2021, and after a phone discussion with the hotel manager, I sent an email asking for refund. They denied a refund but gave me a voucher towards a future stay, and asked me to contact them again by email when I would be ready to make a reservation. On March 13, 2022 I sent an email telling them that I want to use the voucher they gave me on 22-29 May 2022. They never responded, therefore I called them many times, with the hotel manager informing me that they had never given me the voucher, denying their own emails. That means that I lost $1.470 I had paid.Their behavior is at least unprofessional these two years I am trying to find a solution, not to lose my money, due to a fact that is not my fault, but a global condition, which pandemic is.After my review on Google (2 months ago) they asked me to communicate with them via Booking.com, as a did, but they never responded. I have sent them directly many emails but (guess what) they never responded.
Scammed us and we didn’t even stay. Horrible service , front desk guy was being extremely rude and didn’t have patience whatsoever with me and my friends who didn’t know the rules and we did not end up getting inside of our room because of complications . On the website it says free cancellation and we were expecting atleast a refund , no refund and there was a cancellation fee. When we reported it the guy claimed that we never showed up. Don’t go here unless you wanna waste ur time.
Good if all you want is a roof over your head and don’t care much for hygiene. bathtub had weird brown marks all over the bottom, windows were dirty, and there was literally leftover clothes from a previous guest.pros: bouncy beds + they hold luggage + cheapcons: everything elseI guess you get what you pay for
I liked the room was tiny, but I was only in the room to sleep. The room was near subways and places to eat. It was spotless, and the front desk staff was very friendly. The only thing that I did not like was that you could hear everything in the room next door. The first night they got up at 7 am and started making lots of noise. When they were talking, I could hear them like they were in my room. The next day they got up at 6 am. We only got a few hours of sleep because we were out in the city until late, and once the people next door got up, we couldnt go back to sleep.
Me and my boyfriend are a young couple who decided on a whim to go stay in the city for a few days and I booked this hotel because of the affordable price and location- I could only assume that with the price, the hotel would be shabby and a little gross( plus some of the reviews on here added to that assumption) but we were gonna try to make the best of it. But to my dismay, I was pleasantly surprised!! The hotel wasn’t gross at all! The room was perfect, the bed was so comfy, and there wasn’t anything questionable - In fact it was so far from it I made the room a home for a couple of days(and hotels usually gross me out). The reason I’m leaving such a long review is because I spent hours looking at them for this hotel and it gave me slightly low expectations but to no avail because it was so convenient and romantic and easy. Ps there’s a cvs right next door and the subway two blocks down
Cheapest hotel I could find in this area and I was pleasantly surprised. It’s in a great area and the rooms are small but clean and comfortable. The walls are not very soundproof though, and you can hear doors slamming all night, so bring earplugs. Our room was next to some guests who were very loud and on our second night the hotel moved us to a quieter room so I appreciated the accommodation. There’s also a weird sensor light setup in the rooms that turns on in the middle of the night when using the bathroom but we piled a bunch of stuff in front of the sensor which turned it off.
This hotel was cleaner and nicer than a hotel we stayed at the nights before in the financial district that was $350 a night! It is affordable, clean, quiet, the location is amazing, the staff was professional and very friendly. All around a great place to stay when youre in the city!
Stayed at the Heritage for a week in Nov 2021. We had a King Room with Empire State view.Room was much bigger than we were expecting and the beds were super comfy. Well equipped with coffee machine, TV, fridge, iron, safe and USB/power outlets. The view of the ESB was phenomenal and the stand out point of the room! Some furnishings and fittings are tired/worn but thats expected for NYC and was a non-issue. Lots of storage for clothes. Window pane is thin so you can hear outdoor noise, but it didnt disrupt our sleep, might if you dont sleep too easily though. The fridge did annoyingly freeze our drinks but we turned it off to mitigate this. I love that they provide a recycle bin. Housekeeping performed upon request (bins emptied, towels replenished etc) and this was always performed by the time we got back to the room.Small though functional bathroom. Was relatively clean. Bath was great after a long day exploring. Some toiletries provided and more can be given to you on request.Fantastic location. A minute walk to Broadway/Fifth Av intersection and near Flatiron Building. Multiple subway lines close by, so it was easy to get up and down Manhattan. We could get to most places in ~15 mins. Even walking didnt take long. Madison Square Park is on Fifth Av and was one of our favourite spots in the city! Great eats nearby too.Breakfast wasnt being served when we visited, which was disappointing, especially as many places were not open until 11am or after for food. Staff were super friendly and helpful though and reception is manned 24/7, so we always felt safe. They can hold onto your luggage after check-out for just $1 per bag, which was great. Slow elevators but theres two, so we never waited long for one. Wasnt overly busy when we visited though so not sure about busier periods.Internet access was great. Many hotels Ive stayed in have download speeds under 1Mbps, but it was 20Mbps+ here, which was great for streaming and browsing. The hotel exceeded our expectations, especially considering the price and the fact that its NYC, and we enjoyed our stay. A few minor issues but nothing major. Id stay here again. Thanks for having us!
The staff was really good and helpful. The location of hotel is also good. It’s walkable to the time square and transportation is also good. Just the rooms were really small and very conjugated which was my major let down. The rest was really good. And my trip to New York went well.
First night was a nightmare. The walls are paper thin and all night long people on our hallway were slamming doors and waking us up. The rooms also have motion sensor lights so when your partner gets up to use the bathroom, the entire room lights up. We literally had to pile up clothes abd backpacks to cover the sensor so it didn’t wake us up the second night. I don’t know how someone could possibly have thought this was a good idea in a hotel room. The people working the desk were extremely nice and accommodating, moved us to a better room our second night. Really appreciated that, but there’s no way I would consider staying here again.
We booked this room in March of 2020 before the world went to #$%* along with many other venues and rooms. This is the ONLY place that will not cancel our reservation without keeping our money. We pushed out the reservation until December 2021 and now there are even more rules and mandates for travelers coming into New York to ruin our trip. Still, they will not cancel without keeping our money. Says a lot about the character of the owners!
Decent enough place, prices not high or low, even during this horrible pandemic.Pretty much off the beaten path, when the hordes of turist are about its a small chance to have a big city hotel feel without the 50 floors and 2000 rooms.Far enough, but close enough to times square and a quick bus or subway ride away to anywhere in city.Wonderful, caring folks and service is wonderful. Please hit my like link, and please tell them tha Chef Eddie sent you.
Stayed here with my college class from the UK back in 2004. Decent sized rooms with adequate bathroom facilities. Staff very friendly even when I came down in lift to reception in my boxershorts to grab a spare key as I sleepwalked and got locked out of room lol. Even seeing a skinny white boy in the lift like that staff very friendly and helpful 😄. Would love to come and stay again sometime, maybe in the future. Would definitely recommend.
Visited in mid January, reasonable price as it was off season. Room is on the smaller side but was clean and bed was comfy. You can hear the doors shut on other rooms through out the night, but if you have done enough walking and had enough cocktails you wouldnt notice as you will be exhausted and passed out from your day of touring NYC. Staff are friendly, and helpful. Hotel has a good location for walking places, subway, or catching the hop on hop off bus. Also a nice park about a 5 min walk away, also close to the flatirons building. Breakfast is included, eggs, sausage, toast, cereal, fresh fruit, juice, make your own waffles coffee and tea. Which is a great way to save some $$ before you head out. You can take a shuttle from the hotel to the airport for about 24 US, but it will take a while to get to the airport as they pick up at other locations also. Cab would be about 65 US. it is a flat fare, but during peak times there is an extra fee, and still takes close to an hour so plan accordingly!
Its not fancy, but its a great price for being so close in. Room was tiny (to be expected) but very clean and the wifi worked and connected easily. Cold ac, nice shower, good hot water. Continental breakfast was pretty decent and staff was very courteous. Never heard any neighbors while in the room... elevators are slow and tiny.
Great hotel, with a great location and good prices. I stayed with my family in a 4 guest room and it wasnt small at all, even thought it wasnt the biggest roon ever. The room was clean, the air conditioner was functioning but a bit loud.Service was correct, towels were re-stocked daily and everything was perfect. The breakfast wasnt anything particularly varied, but it was adequate. The staff was really nice and helpful, even took to the time to call a private taxi for us.Were this hotel excels is in its placing: Its in the middle of Manhattan and next to a metro station so youll have no problem moving around. It also has several restaurants near, and a convenience store right next to it.Overall, Ill definitely stay again. Recomended.
Hotel has really good location and is relatively clean. However, the room where we have stayed was really dark, A/C was old and we couldn’t sleep when it was on during a night. Breakfast is for free but it is for reason. We have rather eaten outside because they did not have any healthy options. Only sweet bread, some cereals and cheap jam.
The hotel staff were friendly and is very willing to assist you. However, the room that we had was very small and there was one day that the cleaning service forgot to provide us with towels and toilet paper. It was walking distance to many attractions in the city, which is a big plus. The hotel itself is very small and compact and the elevators take forever.
I stayed at The Heritage Hotel NYC for 3 whole weeks.I was super anxious arriving, it was my first solo travel trip, but from the moment I walked in I was received with a friendly welcome and a reassuring check in. My room was a king size space and it looked just like the pictures which was super important to me. It had great facilities, I was able to unpack all of my clothes into draws and a cupboard. The heater was super handy and efficient and kept the room nice and cozy, as well as the mini fridge which was great because I could bring back drinks and food and store them in there. The Location of the hotel is I think its greatest asset, so central to the flatiron building and Empire State. I even found the delicious Chinese restraint next door extremely convenient. 10/10 for location. The breakfast was lovely, always full and in a clean, sterile environment. The service was always friendly and welcoming, the staff were super pleasant to talk and interact with.It is an old hotel but it is well maintained and clean. The only two negatives would be the wifi was super slow as well as the elevators but not an entirely huge issue considering there are alternative ways to connect to the internet and taking the stairs is healthier.I would stay at this hotel if I had the opportunity to come back to New York again based on my wonderful experience and their professional service.
Got the family suite, as a regular room would be a bit tight for our family of 5, especially a NYC room. Room was clean, if a little cozy. Free breakfast was good, but VERY crowded. Location is great. No parking options or partnerships, so if you drive be prepared to pay through the nose at a garage or lot.
Its perfectly fine if youre not too demanding. The room was clean and had a fridge, and the heat worked well. I didnt test the free wifi. Downside was low water pressure and not a ton of hot water in the shower. Breakfast was standard crappy hotel food, but who cares. Its a reasonably priced room, what do you want?
Room was very small, but good for 1 night stay. Had a king size bed, some what of a walk in closet. When I went to open the door, the desk chair was blocking it, so I had to move it to the other side of the room to get in/out. Chair was dirty, with like paint stains or something that couldnt get stains out easily. Customer Service was nice. If out of state, theres a parking garage a block away. It does cost money, $28 for every 24 hours if youre staying at the hotel. Or $25 per hour if just driving in, no hotel stay. ( it is NY, after all). Also no place to pull over to drop off your luggage on side of the road. Not wheelchair accessible. Free breakfast was a standard, normal thing any place with free breakfast would have. Forgot what time checkout was (11a.m., btw) but the book said 12p.m. , which is outdated. Phone did not work when I went to call to ask. But the manager was very nice and said 12pm checkout was ok, no extra charge. Nice walking distance to places like empire state building, 20-30 min walk to time square. Good bars just feet away.
The rooms are very nice for the price and very convenient. It has a rustic look which gives it appeal and the staff is very welcoming and kind. Its very close to a lot of restaurants, all are within walking distance. And its very close to the subway if you needed to get around the city. All in all, I would stay here again if given the opportunity.
We arrived early and requested an early check in but we were turned away. No big deal - we didnt expect that. But when we returned well after the check in time, we were given cards to a filthy room which clearly hadnt been cleaned and had trash bags blocking the hallway. After complaining we were given a new room which was poorly maintained and was tiny. I understand New York City hotels are small, but Ive stayed in comparably priced rooms ($350 in December) in the city which were much much nicer.
The elevators are a mess! You ever have to wait at least 5 minutes. I have never seen such slow elevators and people walking on to their floors by foot. Yes, walking is possible but I didnt want to walk the 10 floors four times a day. Please replace them! The breakfast room is a lot too small. So many people who are going crazy and causing chaos. Sorry, but this was not nice. There is only one toaster for all these people. You can easily improve this by buying a second toaster. Then there is much less chaos in the morning and lots of guests would be much happier and this is a cheap investment for you.The rest is OK. Rooms are small, but OK. They are clean and the beds are comfortable. The staff is very nice and polite and the breakfast staff is really quick with cleaning and refilling.
Stayed at the Heritage Hotel while attending a local seminar. The concierges were very friendly and helpful. As we arrived in NYC many hours before check in, they offered to hold our bags for us at the cost if $1/per bag. Continental breakfast included scrambled eggs, waffles, sausage, cereal, and quite a few other options. Beds were comfortable. Room contained a safe and mini fridge as well.
I stayed here for 2 nights only and just wished I could stay here more. The exterior doesnt do justice to whats really in there. Meanwhile, upon my arrival I was greeted to a very calm, cool and collected ambience. The reception area is pretty small though but that doesnt take anything away from how good this place is.Theres is free breakfast and free Wi-Fi as well. The elevator is very functional, clean and well-maintained. I found out that each room has a safe even though I didnt have cause to use mine. I observed that the main entrance to the hotel is not wheelchair accessible.
We stayed at Heritage Hotel in September 2018 and had a great experience. The staff are incredibly kind, helpful and accommodating. The rooms have recently been updated and are very clean and more spacious than you would expect for NYC. And you can’t beat the location! We would definitely stay there again.
Great hotel. Staying here with my kids and grandma. Clean, quiet, great food at the breakfast buffet and staff are amazing. Also, the area is central and safe. Couldn’t ask for anything more for the price in NYC. I’ve traveled and lived here and this place gets 5 stars for the money compared to similarly priced hotels.Looking at some of the lower star reviews inspires me to add a few more comments. First, don’t expect the Four Seasons if you can’t afford it and then judge a hotel based on what you see on TV. This is an immaculately clean hotel with a staff that bends over backwards. For the money it is a great deal. Indeed it is close to the Empire State Building, Times Square and a ton of other attractions. We stayed on the 10th floor and our room was fantastic compared to other hotels I’ve stayed at in NYC. Just the location and quiet atmosphere is worth it. I will say I’ve stayed at numerous very expensive hotels in this city and the staff here is as good or better. Every request we had they met and the breakfast alone was was worth what we paid for as a group. Great hotel and this is a real review. We are from Utah and came with 4 kids and I have lived and worked in NYC since 2002 - I’ll be back and recommend this place to my friends. Thank you.
Terrible experience. Front desk was less than welcoming, the “continental breakfast” was also disappointing. Construction in the building started at 7:00 AM, waking up anyone who planned to sleep past then. Stayed in one of the larger rooms for a hefty price, NOT worth it. One star for the convenient location.
There were 3 of us, all looking just to stay a weekend in New York, searching everywhere we could for good deals, convenience, and comfort. Heritage is one of those Well.... I guess you get what you pay for kind of moment. We traveled for 2 hours, and were already tired, just ready to get food and sleep so we could have fun the next day. One of the women at the check in/out desk was pretty rude, her customer service was pretty poor, and me personally, she made a disapproving face when I handed her my ID.Which, heres that, too. My friend booked the hotel in his name and card. However, we were ALL asked for our IDs, which we thought was weird considering of all hotels we have stayed at, only the Booker needed an ID. Well, only 2 of us had our IDs, and it felt like she pressured us to have the 3rd ID, which was unobtainable.Onto the room: Upon entering, we were greeted with dangerously strong smelling lead paint fumes, which could be damaging to anyone with a weak immune system. We stayed in a fairly decently sized room, though. The beds were passable, but their pull out sofa had stains, the toilet had what appeared to be poop stains, the AC hardly worked and kicked a lot (stuttered, had a hard time pulling air) and really didnt make the room much cooler. Only 2 outlets worked, the one our bedside lights and phone were all connected to, did not work, nor did the one next to the bed next to the window (which peered into a really creepy room). There were a few short circuits in the room, which made us watch how we were using electricity. For a hotel, that is unacceptable. There really should not be a short circuit issue, when every room should technically be on its on circuit. We checked the bathroom linens after inspected and seeing these flaws, and one of the towels had a red stain we assumed to be blood, which is gross. The elevators sometimes work, and ALWAYS smell. We ended up using the stairs because it was so slow.Overall a pretty janky hotel. But, I mean. At least there were no bugs?
The hotels location is superb. Intersection of the 5th Ave and Broadway! For $100+ it is the best value I could get. It was my first time booking a hotel in the city center. And it wont be the last, for sure. The hotel must be 200+ years old. It looks this way, with decorated ceilings and narrow stairs. The rooms are not big as well. But I do not play golf indoors, you know.Pros are as follows. Its tidy and offers free breakfasts. The staff is helpful and cheerful. They even offered us a twin room for free when saw that wed booked double accidentally. Also there is a good Chinese restaurant on the 1st floor. You need to try pork with garlic there. Just believe me. ;)The only cons was the view from my window. Brick well. But that was quite atmospheric. So I didnt complain. :)Recommended.
We booked our hotel pre pandemic…March of 2020…for December of 2020, after the pandemic hit we tryed to get our money back, they refused, said we could rebook…which we did, but a year later nothing has changed in the conditions in NYC… they still refused to refund our money, it’s over one thousand dollars 😡😡😡… sad when a major hotel scams people out of their money
This hotel sits at a fantastic midtown location just steps from Madison Square Park, where if your room faces the right way, you can see a nice chunk of the top of the Empire State Building. Rooms were adequate-to-nice, and the staff was very helpful and pleasant. Being from New Jersey, I dont often stay in Manhattan (we stayed over to watch the Thanksgiving Day Parade), but its nice to know that a reasonably priced, quiet, and centrally located hotel is there for the booking.
Nice a cozy hotel in the heart of Manhattan flat iron district..very well connected with all the main point of the city and subway line . Rooms are small but clean and very silent ( which is really important for New york) , bed is very comfortable . Staff very friendly . excellent relation quality price.
The most disgusting place I have ever stayed in. To the point that I couldn’t wait to leave. I come to the city atleast 5 times a year and this was my first time staying at this hotel. This hotel is so dirty. Let’s begin with dirty towels in the beds stains everywhere NO HEAT , my son called for more blankets and pillows the customer service rep said there four ppl in your room you have enough in your room for now and hung up. The elevator was about a 15 minute wait which ever time of the day was. There is only one beverage machine and yup let’s guess it didn’t work either and ate my money .
Small but decent room and beds. The wifi was good. The eggs were especially powdered in taste and texture. The view out the window of my back/interior room was of a small column of other building. The elevator was very slow. It was faster to take the stairs down from the 10th floor that to ride the elevator down ( doors open on 10 with no other stops) - I literally raced a couple down ( I walked does the stairs). The halls are warm. The room got cool, but never cold in spite of running the AC full tilt from the moment I called l checked in. This was one of the recently renovated rooms. I dont know if the ramps on the stairs are an attempt to claim this place is wheelchair accessible.... But I would rather take a furniture dolly up the stairs than the 40 degree pitch of that shabby ramp. This was the most money I have ever spent for a hotel of this quality. It was an absolutely OK hotel. Clean and functional with WiFi and a free breakfast.
The room would have been fine, except that the desk and chair were pinned up so close to the bed, it made sitting down and standing up from my laptop into an exciting adventure every time. The elevators... There are two, on separate buttons. If you press the main one, youll be waiting forever, because everyone on every floor will be stopping it. The trick is to use the second, service elevator. Its small and cramped, but nobody ever summons it, so it will usually come right to you.One plus, they actually have a real breakfast, with sausage and eggs (scrambled, but still..), so thats better than a continental.
Fine experience, but could use improvement. First theres no lamp. This is a (easily solved) huge issue, because the three obnoxious bright sconces are all wired together, so its all or nothing.Next the A/C slash heater was not capable of keeping up with the temperature outside. Or room was about 50 degrees for hours into the night, reached maybe 70 by morning. It was very cold outside this February night, but seriously? Also the windows were quite leaky. Sealed by some distraught Patron with clear packing tape frantically at 2 a.m.The shower faucet was more than difficult to turn. Should have been replaced years ago.Yes the room is cramped and dated with no art on the walls, but Im not bothered by those issues. Navigating the hallways with the many fire doors might be tricky for a overweight person. The view looks out on the burned out shell of a Serbian Church. Which is actually quite beautiful. Also nice piece of the Empire State Building. We stayed in room 204.There was a sign offering a portable smoke detector, not sure what that was all about. There were no bed bugs. We would not stay here again. Unless the conditions changed.
The Heritage Hotel New YorkI represent a group of Irish Military Veterans who recently marched in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in New York. We booked 11 twin rooms and received a very acceptable quote for 7 nights accommodation. From the start of our relationship the professionalism shone through with payment plans and constant contact details of travel arrangements and collection from JFK airport. We were greeted by the General manager Sahid, who is also a Veteran with the nicest smile you could wish for after a long flight and bus drive into New York. The location was perfect for a group of veterans ranging in age 47 to 78, the access was easy to the Downtown area and Ground Zero by Subway or by bus as we had an itinerary of Ceremonial events. The room were 2 persons and as I am a constant traveller the first thing I checked out was the bathroom for its standard of cleanliness. I am very happy to report that it was spotless as was the rest of the room, the beds were made fresh and were comfortable. The breakfast was standard but plentiful and there is a free coffee dock open for residents 24 hours daily. The domestic staff were happy and helpful at all times and nothing was a bother to them. The receptionists were the best, they dealt with every request/enquiry with aplomb and on our checkout, they were tested, our flights were cancelled due to a snow storm and The Heritage was booked out solid, the 2 girls and the General Manager made calls to ensure we had follow on accommodation. We will be returning to New York in Nov 2019 for the UWVC parade and we will certainly return to The Heritage as we have adopted the hotel as a base in New York for the Veterans of 2 Infantry Battalion Association Dublin, Ireland.
Growing up and living in New York, I have never stayed at a NYC hotel. But due to work, the company decided to put everyone at a hotel and show up to work bright and early next day. I understand its a Comfort Inn, but I am not expecting the W level of quality. This Comfort Inn is pretty small, the rooms are confusing to get to. The rooms are tiny, its expected, its Manhattan. The room I got had a non working sink. No water at all. So I had to call front desk. The front desk guy, was unhelpful, I asked if I can switch rooms because sink had no water and he just plainly said no vacant rooms left, anything else? I never expect much from a Comfort Inn, but damn this was the worst experience Ive had with a crappy Comfort Inn
I would not recommend this hotel if you’d like to enjoy your time in NYC. We ran into a minor issue that could have been easily been solved (and has been easily solved in multiple other hotels that I’ve stayed in) but the hotel staff was not only unwilling to solve my minor issue but was also extremely rude. I am not a picky person with high standards, in fact this is the first negative review I’ve ever taken the time to write, but if I can save others from the worst customer service in NYC then it’s worth it. Enjoy this beautiful city in any hotel other than Heritage Hotel.
Book here only if you are short of a place to stay..!! Expensive for the size of the room offered..the hospitality was no where close to offered in other standard hotels..the room was too small with two queen beds which look separate in the pictures provided by the management but in reality are joined..!! That is the amount of space in the room..the bathroom was way too congested..and the receptionist was rude in telling me that we were late to checkout by half an hour when she could see a baby with me that was badly ill..!!
I always enjoy my stay at the Heritage Hotel. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I wish they provided bubble bath soaps and that the bath tubs were a little bigger to accommodate a couple for romantic bubble baths. But other than that, I will continue to return.
The Heritage Hotel is in a great location for NYC. It is reasonably priced to be so close to Midtown. It was only a 10 minute walk to see the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. The rooms are very small though. If you have loud neighbors across the hall expect to hear everything they say.As far as the staff they were extremely friendly and accommodating.
Great hotel lots of space. If you have a family and are looking to visit New York heritage hotel is the best place to go. One great thing about this hotel is that there is free breakfest that has many varieties of food just be advised breakfest is from 7:30 am to 10:00 am. Have a great time at heritage hotel just like me and many others.
Either I need to adjust to NYC standards or the beds in the room were of doubtful cleanliness for the price we paid. As a matter of fact I dont think hotels at any price should compromise on bed cleanliness. The breakfast quality was the bare minimum. Edible but no more.
This hotel was the worst to be honest , its false avertisment ! The air conditioning doesnt work, the fridge doesnt work, the door sometimes doesnt open! I swear this was the worst hotel Ive ever stayed in , dont come here, your going to waste your money, and patience! They lie about parking too , the rooms are really tiny! Im not trying to be rude, but honestly they should try to work on this because its the first and last time I come here 😔
The best thing about this hotel is the LOCATION! Also I’ve got an impressive room, with a view to the Empire States! 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻 The bedroom was ok, with an old air conditioner but it worked fine. I have to admit that the bed was EXTRA DELICIOUS! 🤪The breakfast is ok! Normal.
Arrived in the hotel and pulled back a cover and there it was, a bed bug crawling in the sheets. We informed the front desk staff members and they immediately were defensive and asked to be shown the room. (Even after bringing the actual bug down to show them) So we go back to the room to look for more, which we didnt find anymore but then we flipped a mattress and there was a dead bug lying there. The staff members were very unpleasant and did not resolve this matter. They suggested that we continue to stay the night and let them know if we see more. After hours of going back and forth, the management finally agreed to give us a new room. Ended up wasting time and money staying here and will definitely not return or recommend to others!!!
Hotel is gross. Cockroaches seen while staying, smells bad, in bad shape. Hotel only has 2 elevators. Both EXTREMELY SLOW, and one only holds 4 people. You deal with that in a new york hotel in the morning or evening trying to get to and from your room up 10 flights....
Well to start off the staff was very rude, the lady at the front desk on my night of check in was very difficult and was basically belittling me and my family. There was no information about check in and then to top it off the room was very poor spots on the towels and couch and the filter to the AC was dirty so the room was not cool the lights near kept flickering on and off in our room overall very poor never again
Hotel in New York City in Chelsea New York, located near Madison Square Park and the iconic Flatiron Building. They provide a delicious complimentary breakfast every morning and free WIFI. The rooms have individual window air condition units. The rooms are a little old school and are in need of renovations, but you have the city right outside.
After our group of 46 school members (42 girls and 4 teachers) we also shared our hotel experience with a school of another 48 students. Both of whom ate the same food and airline of which majority have fallen seriously ill with food poising, the Norovirus. It’s coincidental that it was 2 schools at the same time and no reports from any other residents from the hotel or the teachers staying. With no connection to the other school, we both had eaten at a variety of different restaurants and so it is unclear where the illness has been contracted from. Overall, I warn you to be careful where you stay and what you eat. The hotel had lovely staff and a room standard for a hostel.
Good location. But the room was small, we had our very basic breakfast in paper plates! We paid 1$/luggage to reception after our check out and they didnt call us a taxi, instead they gave us a number to do it on our own which was very expensive through our european phone. At least, they changed the towels!
Paper thin walls - super loud, small, which is to be expected in NYC, but expected more for the price. We had tried to cancel with them a month on advance (made the mistake of doing a noncancellable room), and they wouldnt even negotiate on a cancellation fee - dont expect any favors from these guys.
I gave it 3* because it was a good price. After staying there I would not stay again. It for high reviews but that is only representative of the price point. Its an old hotel that has not really been refurbished. For a place to sleep it was just fine but could use a modernization.
BED BUGS!!!!! DONT SLEEP HERE!!!!! If I could give 0 stars I would. From when we first arrived we noticed our room looked NOTHING like the photos online, we had no toilet paper and our heat was blowing out cold air. After returning to our room we were relaxing and noticed a BED BUG crawling on the bed and also another one on my bag. I called the front desk ASAP. The gentleman who spoke no English came up to my room and squashed the bed bug on my bag with his fingernail and walked right out of the room. Afterwards, we were not comfortable sleeping in the room. We lifted up both mattresses got our flashlights and scoped around every nook of the room looking for more bed bugs. After going downstairs to talk to management I was basically called a liar and he said I was saying this to get my money back and that I needed evidence. The only evidence I had was the excess skin of the bed bug that lived until the gentleman’s fingernail. The end result is this.. they did NOTHING about my issue to reassure me that any other room would be clean enough to spend the night. At 1230am we decided to take the 2.5 hour ride home and lost over $300. HORRIBLE STAFF, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, DIRTY BED BUG INFESTED ROOMS!
I accidently left Carlos Bakery food in my room. I called shortly after 11 which is check out to tell them we had left it. The head clerk said he call me back right away and let me know if the room had been cleaned and he never did. So i decided to walk back to see if they had anything. When i got there They had half of my food and the manager said he saved what was in the room but that was unture. He didnt offer compensation for the cupcakes or even an apology. So I had 3 cup cakes in a box, an empty box that had a strawberry short cake tower in it and another shortcake tower and the box both missing. Thanks for nothing.Rooms were small and out dated. Elevator was dirty. Tv had poor reception.
Would put no stars if I could. Tried changing room because I was booked in the smallest room possible. Hotel staff are not accommodating, spoke with manager Lorraine and she was not helpful at all. Once I cancelled my room they charged me practically the same cost of keeping the room. Horrible customer service. Do not book them for anything!
Awful customer service. My husband had a flight out to NYC that was cancelled the evening of our stay. We both called the Comfort Inn in Chelsea numerous times to inform them that the flight was cancelled, but we were not refunded or given any sort of credit for our reservation. We did not receive any communication back until 2 weeks later, when the manager sent a very short email stating that he would not be able to give us any sort of compensation, despite circumstances being out of our control. Each of us has also called corporate multiple times to follow up on the issue, and they were nonresponsive.Absolutely terrible and disrespectful service. We will never stay at any Comfort Inn again.
Part of the staff is friendly, but the hotel has some policies that are absurd. First, they charge the guest US$ 1 each luggage to store, instead of the usual tip you give to the person who helps you. Second, we spent 13 nights there, our car was going to pick us up at 5:30 pm, we ask to stay in the room until 5:00 pm, not for free obviously, to at least take a shower before a 10 hours flight back home, they said that until 4 pm they would charge us US$ 40, but to stay until 5 pm I would have to pay US$ 150 the whole day. It was only ONE HOUR, and they want to charge us US$ 100 more. They don´t have anything out of the ordinary, even one of the elevators was broken. But they couldn´t help but charge the guests who spent a lot of time there with US$ 100 more for a single hour. Not a place to come back, there are plenty of hotels in NYC that could have charged half of the day and where you don´t have to pay to store your bags. Sorry for the guy who have to work doing this, he could have recevied a very good tip if I didn´t have to pay for something that a hotel could provide to the guest without any cost. And more, I ask for information about broadway shows to one of the girls (a blond girl) who were there to GIVE INFORMATION and she was so willing to tell me the prices that I gave up. If they don´t want to give information to the guest why they are there to do this? The Japanese front desk manager not friendly at all, actually she was speaking with me without looking at me, horrible. Well, If I come back to NYC, I will look for other hotel, my stay was good but all this little problems in my last 2 days there change all my opinion about the hotel.
Old equipments, and walls are so thin that I can clearly hear what other rooms residents are talking. Beside, the fridge in the room was not working well, and some food that I had in the fridge got spoiled. The most wired thing was that, in five night that stayed at this hotel, three time the person who cam for house keeping, did not knock the door and just opened the door! And then just apogolozed. And this happend other days with other persons !!!
The rooms have motion sensor lights so when you gets up to use the bathroom all the lights come on , The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything including the doors slamming so bring headphones or earplugs , Certain rooms are non-smoking room but the costumers still smoke in the rooms making the hallway smell bad , the workers don’t help I’m expecting more.
Budget minded visitors and tourists should find this location and fair pricing a good deal..Right near Madison Square Park and within ten minutes or so walking distance of the Empire State Building, Macys Department Store, Madison Square Garden and thehe Pennsylvania Train Station..The Chinese Restaurant on the Ground Floor is good, with plenty of choices from their menu. (When Asians themselves eat in a place, you know it is good.).Many restaurants, cafes and other dining facilities within minutes of the Hotel on Broadway, Fifth and Avenue of the Americas. During the Summer, Madison Square has several pop up food vendors to choose from..All-in-all, not a great Hotel but certainly reasonably priced, with a pretty good location..
Horrible hotel.....rooms are old ... and dirty and overpriced.... beds move on wheels...walls are paper thin... no parking nearby and event here loading zone was filled with random cars... elevators take forever .... and they have no late checkout system..HORRIBLE HOTEL

2022-06-01We stayed in a two room family suite and it was perfect- one room for the kids one for us. The rooms were slightly small but clean. The location was excellent and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Discounted parking nearby was convenient enough. We had a great view of the Empire State Building out our window that would have been made better if the windows werent filthy, but that is the only minor complaint I have. No breakfast due to Covid but the nearby Olympia Deli has excellent breakfast sandwiches. I would definitely stay here again.

2022-05-19Enjoyed our stay. The rooms are small but that was expected in NY. The location was perfect. Several food places close by and within walking distance to everything and the subway. The service was amazing. He gave us suggestions for food nearby. They also let us leave our luggage after checkout because our plane didnt leave until 9pm. Well worth the stay. I would 100% choose them again. Their restaurant was closed because of covid, but they do room service.

2022-05-17This was an excellent stay in an interesting part of NYC. The check in was seamless. The room was a nice size and very clean. The bed was VERY comfortable. The shower was excellent; plenty of hot water. Towels were not luxurious, but adequate. Elevator was a bit slow, but worked very well. Staff very professional and courteous and helpful. We had a very nice time.Close to a bunch of restaurants & subway. We even had a view of the Empire State Building.

2022-04-11We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff was very kind and helpful. The kitchen and breakfast were not available due to Covid so that was a bummer, but overall this is an absolutely great spot to stay. Dozens of cuisine options and transit within a short walk. I will definitely stay here again as per the value was well worth it.

2022-06-21Positive: Lowest priced hotel in the area -- location couldnt be much better for a midtown experience. Room was quiet and nicely renovated. Negative: Unfortunately, Im still questioning wether I was bitten by bed bugs (and if Ive taken some home with me) during my two day stay. Still stay at your own risk.

2022-05-29Only stayed one night. Location is unbeatable. Quick check in. Very small Dated rooms. Small bathroom. Small everything. Reminds me of European rooms. Had mini fridge which was nice. Did the job for one night.

2022-05-25I am very disappointed! We had booked for December 2021 but because of the Covid it was not possible to go. The hotel was very little present to answer us and help us to find a solution. A trip to New York is not cheap and the refund was impossible. They offered us to move the date of the trip but it was only possible from January to May. Can I take a vacation whenever I want and less than 6 months in advance? Absolutely not. We lost a significant amount of money. No compassion...

2022-06-30Pros:Location: A quieter street with lots of amenities nearby including a breakfast place next to the entrance, the Smithfield beer hall a block away and a CVS on the corner. And very friendly staff.Cons:The rooms are smaller like European norms. But theyre pretty well furnished. This is the first and only place I have seen (in June 2022) a charge for holding bags on check out. It was $2 per bag. At >$200 a night, Id think the bag holding should be complimentary given that it doesnt require any resources except a few minutes of the desk clerks time. Strangely, it was still free to hold them before check in. I certainly hope this nickel-and-dime BS doesnt become an industry norm.

2022-05-26We were very impressed. It was the perfect room for us, with soft beds, air conditioning, and it was reasonably priced. Will definitely recommend that others stay here as well!

2022-03-28The room was nice, more than I expected, though not large by any means. I only needed service on some advice about where to eat and was given great help. The location was an easy walk to where I was headed and everything worked out nicely. I would happily stay again should the need arise.
