Horrible... had a 12noon reservation. Got there and they told be there was going to be a 2hr wait. Lady was extremely rude about it too. People have lives to live, places to go. I had a reservation set for 3pm one day and I get there at 255pm and they tell me they close at 3pm go cross town and see if they have any cars.
Getting the car was horrible. waited 30min outside in the cold next to a stinking trash canLady in counter was very slow. the did not have the car ready for my arrival. not even a smile or explanation whyI pre-paid for full 1st tank but got a half tank. this cost me $$Air was missing from back tireI got no explanation on tolls and how to pay them - although it is logical that renting in NYC you will encounter tollsthis Hertz location is badly runonly reason not to give 1 star - return at Newark was easy and fast.
We were told that we could drop off the car at any time. drove all the way here only to be told theres no drop box for the keys and that we would have to come back in the morning so i guess im going to have to pay for parking just to wake up at 7 am and drop it off. also the man working in the parking lot was talking to us as if he was going to gun us down.
Second time in a row that Ive gotten mediocre customer service at that Hertz location. Worker was unhelpful, bordering on rude, acted like I was inconveniencing her by being there.Have gotten consistently better customer service at both Avis and Alamo locations in Manhattan.
Staff does their job and nothing else. No sense of customer service, I didnt even get a Good Morning back!Car was delivered fast but was just parked there and the guy pointed at it and said thats your car.While trying to figure out my route, next car was honking in the back. Didnt even have time to properly adjust the mirrors.Not the sort of service I expected from this company.
On a Saturday with a line 13 people long, they have 1 person working inside and from what I saw 1 person bringing cars to front. Wait was an hour and a half plus, causing me to be late checking out of hotel, so not only are we spending $400+ on a car rental for 2 days, I get to be charged for late checkout. An inconsiderate lack of planning. Really unhappy with the entire experience.
Worst experience ever at a hertz. Made a reservation for the Econ car at 10. Arrived at 12 noon the lady told me I can only pay more for full size car because they don’t have any more economy car. I have been a gold member for 2 years and rented countless times before. In all of my past experience, they have provided me a free upgrade for the same situation. Not only did she refused to give me an upgrade she also charged me a lot more than the price on the app. Also her attitude from the beginning to finish was one of the worst customer service I have ever encountered, so this is how you treat your loyal customer.
Bad service from Rose.She was unfriendly and even hostile.She said the only option is SUV in 216$ before insurance.We then made a reservation online of 59$ (Insurance included).Rose persisted to receive us at 10:00 ONLY and let us wait till the last minute!! (even the car was ready and she had nothing to do during this time).I hope she will provide better service after reading this review.
We were standing at the counter and they had my card and drivers license, about to process my rental, when a man walks in.The attendant greets him and immediately starts serving him around me.It was so strange and really rude! It ended up taking a while to process that mans order, the attendant knew we were in a hurry but we were just completely disregarded for a man behind us in line.
Yolanda was fabulous - helpful and friendly.She got me a car though I was an hour early. She got me an EZ pass which was not in my car. Check in was easy which was great since I was running to make my train. This station is wonderful and wonderfully close to Penn Station. Staff is terrific especially Yolanda
Booked a car rental for the first time with Hertz through my credit card rewards points and it was super simple. The people at the front counter were really nice and helpful and made my car pickup process quick and simple. I appreciate that Hertz offers an overnight dropoff option, but dont trust the location when you call (207 W 60th). The correct one is the one on 55th, but you have to go down to the public storage area. When I returned the car, they gave me a voucher for my inconveniences in trying to find the right overnight dropoff location. I really appreciated the customer service, the kindness of everyone (Im from Texas and appreciate that alot). I would definitely rent a car from this location again.
Rented a car on snowy day to see father who is in hospital. Had car on highway for 1 1/2 hrs. Breaks made loud clacking noise, felt unsafe so returned car. Manager immediately says he cant control weather. I say, Im returning it because of clacking noise. didnt offer to chg car or upgrade just said you signed the papers when you took the car and he cant control weather Also refused to give his name. Charged $200 for 2hrs. Unbelievable
Terrible. Truly. The young man who was working on 11/8 afternoon is the laziest employee Ive ever met. This location also NEVER answers their phone during business hours. This is the second time Im trying to rent a car from this location and yet again no one is answering for over an hour. And of course, no one cared to detail the gas charges to me until after I filled it to the top for them. If you want real service, dont waste your time.
Hertz is so terrible. This particular pickup center is particularly slow - last time they had no power so had to check us in manually - over an hour in line. This time while we had requested a Tahoe we got a huge Suburban that had no gas and no easy pass and was a terrible upgrade for the smaller and more gas efficient car we had expected to arrive to for our 16 hour drive ahead. Will be taking enterprise from now on where more often than not you get something for free and the people are so nice!
I had rented cars from this location many times, some of your reps behind the counter are so rude, they make me feel like they do me a huge favor.When I want to use my company negotiated rates or coupons, they harass me for a company ID. I always tell them My company doesnt give out IDs, I can email you a letter that I work for this company, their answer is No, I need a company ID. But we dont have genius.....Then, why do you even have such a thing as a Gold member, I wish I can just get a text or email with confirmation number and the spot where my car is parked, I hop in & drive, just like you have in the airports. So I dont have to deal with the non-sense of your reps behind the counter.
Ive used this location many times, and staff is consistently rude and dismissive. Last time they tried to overcharge me with no apology (they supposedly didnt remember they told me the tank was 1/4 full when I picked it up). Despite having good cars at low prices, Ive decided to stop using this location as its not worth having to deal with their rude staff.
The black lady with black long hair there is so aweful ! I am trying to connect Hertz asking them to issue my complaint! She is not only inpersonal but also rude as hell. Like I beg her for a car ! I get it the pay not be good and this is not a fantastic job! But if you accept this job then stop being a bixxch and do the job!!!
Worst experience of my life. Lost our luggage, overcharged, dishonest, unwilling to help, unkind. Would love to see management clean up this location so customers can be happy.By far the worst customer experience have had in my life. Dont rent from them. You will suffered
This company allowed me to pay for a car rental via Internet with a debit card, but when I come to collect the car they made me cancel the debit card payment (I will only receive the refund within 3 weeks) and made me pay the same value with a credit card, even though I had already paid for that.Besides that, they had promised me that I could cancel the credit card payment and pay with cash or debit card when I returned the car, but when I got there to return the car they said I was not allowed to change the payment for the car anymore.Just to make things clear, I am talking about the payment of the car, not about the security deposit.
Attention, I rented a car via the auto Europe site, I paid 150 euros for 24 hours. Which is already very expensive.I asked for a GPS as an option, he announced an additional 16 dollars by paying on the spot, which I accepted.And arrived at the agency to pick up my rental car, the person at the reception told me that there was no GPS!!! I said I asked for it in the reservation. And she replied that there is none. I explained to him that I was a tourist and without gps I couldnt get by.And she asked me for an extra 120 dollars to get a vehicle with gps. This is theft !!!!I had no choice but to pay.I am disappointed with hertz because I think it was serious but that is not the case.
It is located in the heart of Manhattan, close to the Lincoln Tunnel and with excellent access to the surrounding area.The staff is also very flexible.I rented a medium-sized car. The ride was also good. However, there are differences depending on the model. In particular, the Subaru Legacy was very easy to drive, and high-speed cruising was stress-free and comfortable.However, only the optional GPS needs attention. I have a strong habit, and the navigation system often guides me just before, and if I make a mistake on the way, I will try to return to the starting point once. Also, maybe you happened to hit a bad device, it will soon run out of charge. When renting, should I check it carefully?
Pickup and delivery of the car has actually worked quite well. However, the lady at the parking lots was very displeased, as we had not cleared the parking lot right away, although we were still waiting for our passengers who were in the bathroom. Does not necessarily mean good customer service ...
One guy once told me that only people who have bad experiences go to the Internet, and its true.I have booked with Hertz and everything went perfect, not a hit, not a complaint, everything perfect, the deal, the car, without tricks or anything. All very well.Reading so many bad opinions is scary but it is true that there are only 4 and customers will have tens day after day.
Please arrive at the reserved time. The rate included a full tank. And a big car. I dont like trucks. They gave me a Ford Escape with 37,000 miles, a Minnesota patent, with a plate pass, which every time I went through a toll booth I threw an error ..... empty tank with just enough to get a nearby service station in Manhatan !!! !!!!!, where it was not only chaos to arrive, but the gallon literally doubled them, than in the rest of the trip. When I asked for an option to change my vehicle, they only had two small cars and two medium cars available. Very bad attention at the counter. I always rent at Hertz and this never happens to me and Im Goldmember .... but here it seems that it doesnt count.

2022-05-02“We know you all have reservations but there are no cars” — a 2.5 hour wait time ruined the start of vacation for us and at least 50 other people in line on Saturday.Don’t rent Hertz if you value your time. It seems Hertz operates without attempting to match reservations with cars at any given location. Why not just wait until your customers with reservations arrive in the morning and then wait in line for hours while you start calling in cars from somewhere else?

2022-05-02Not one to leave negative review, but the counter service received from Manuel was amiss and deficient even for NYC standards. No sympathy or sense of resolving a situation for customers. Eventually the other front desk rep was able to resolve the issue. If you reserve a vehicle with Hertz and see this kind gentleman in the front, do yourself a favor and walk a few blocks to Avis to avoid dealing with low customer service that is unexpected from Hertz.

2022-07-06Had reservations for 8.30am, got there a bitbearlier and immediately got our car, no problems, helpful stuff. Received a higher category than paid for. Return of car was also super easy and efficient, just parking the car and dropping the keys, received the invoice by email an hour later. Was a bit annoyed by their comment, that we please be back not by 8pm but before, since they close at 8pm. If I rent a car until 8pm, I have the right to return it until that time, not before so they can enjoy an early end of their working day...

2022-05-21Worst service I have ever got as a customer! Ordered and paid for a car in advance for four days, to drive to a hotel in Long Island I already paid for.When I came to the agency, they didnt have cars and told me to wait 1.5 hours. I nicely asked the reception woman for explanation, if we should get compensation and how I can apply a complaint. The woman was with a bad attitude and talked nasty!After a few minutes she told us to get out of the agency and refused to ever provide us with the car we ordered and paid for in advance.We ended up getting a car from Enterprise (amazing service) in Queens (no available cars in all of Manhatten for last minute rental).

2022-04-25Prople who work here have to learn more about Customer Service. No-one greets customers and they never even smiled. The office was too small that we had to wait ourside before getting in for our turn. They even said the restrooms were closed until we figured out it was not. We rented a car there and wanted to drive extremely far south to DC, why wouldnt they let us use the restrooms? They couldve asked for our receipts to prove that we were customers.

2022-03-23Terrible car, even worse people. Never met a ruder group of employees in my years as a traveler. I cannot over-emphasize how mistreated my coworker and I were when we rented a car here. The car was in terrible condition, had brake issues, was dirty, and low on gas. The return process was wholly unpleasant and the car attendant yelled at us on numerous occasions for following to the letter the instructions printed on the wall. The woman inside was nasty and unhelpful. Overall, Id recommend using another rental car service. Even as a member of one of the highest tiers of Hertzs customer loyalty program, we were treated like a standby passenger on a spirit airlines flight.

2022-04-25Renting through company I work for at this Hertz location for years because it’s convenient to location where I live .Always hoping stuff willbe more friendly but NO!!Team of unfriendly people working here, not even good morning to customers , no flexibly , no nothing .. they are trained to show you how little they care about their job , customers and quality of service !!!This morning around 9 am women working inside was so rude !!

2022-03-19Very bad Hertz station. Be careful, they rip you off with empty cars and refueling. Car was the booked class, but very old and quite dirty inside. One of the worst experiences in years. Avoid if you can. Will do next 10 rentals with others (am a very frequent renter).

2022-04-16Shows cars as available on Expedia even when they are not. Guarantees within 30 mins of reservation only. Missed my reservation (my fault) and they were sold out but in trying to rebook they still list cars as available on Expedia even when they are not. Curt employees who point to 800 number rather than trying to help fix problem.
