We came on a Thursday right before closing. There was one person ahead of us and I was driving away within 5 minutes of getting there. I returned on Monday afternoon and the return process was even smoother and quicker. I literally pulled up and handed over the keys and that was it. I got my receipt by email a half hour later for the correct amount.I noticed that this place has a lot of bad reviews and it seems that it comes down to when you rent/arrive at this location. My rental was not at a busy time and was a breeze.
Dont ever rent from these animals!The worst example of hospitality customer service Ive ever experienced in my life! There is an agent named Pricilla who is absolutely rude,snotty,condescending. She infuriated me with her little nasty attitude. She has no business working in customer service.I will now make it my lifes mission to get her fired.
When I rented a car it was 5/8 full of gas but the contract said it was full I asked the lady and she said she changed it in the system so I believed her. when I returned it I made sure to remind the guy that took it that it was supposed to be changed in the system he nodded yes then when I get my receipt they charged me $50 for the fuel even though I did not get it with that.Try to call them and there is a dead end running you in circles there is no one to speak to and you need to submit every possible form of fuel receipt and picture of the dashboard to even have a dream of getting your money back.Real scammers.
Horrible experience. My rental car broke down due to a faulty battery. There was NO support from their Hertz Roadside Assistance program, and I called 4 times. I had to replace the battery at my cost through my AAA membership, to make my trip back to New York on a busy Saturday in time. I was exhausted going through the whole ordeal of a dead battery, and I had now other choice than to call AAA. I went back and forth with the Hertz Customer Service Center for two months to seek reimbursement, and they are NOT reimbursing me for the cost of the new battery, which was $190.00. Thus, Hertz was able to rent this faulty vehicle to the next customer, while I had to put in the time, work and money, plus my AAA membership, to get their rental vehicle road-ready again. Im seething at their arrogance and snottiness dealing with customer issues which puts car renters at risk and jeopardizes our safety. The point is: The vehicle I rented was not road-ready, it was actually unsafe to drive, as the battery went dead while I parked in a remote area. Really absolutely horrible. They should not be allowed to be in business. They are not able to deal with road safety and customer issues. Absolutely the worst ever.
I would give 0 star if I could I have never seen a stupid car rental system like this because I booked a Ford and they gave me Toyota Camry they have done this twice with me since then I don’t go to Hertz anymore especially their stuff are not polite at all they don’t even know how to talk to a customer they’re really bad behavior
Writing this review sitting in my 1h30 min delivered late car, waiting to return it to this location. I have plenty of time to write it because we are more than 10 cars, waiting in line around the block (creating hug traffic) to have someone get our cars. Oh, and the car was pretty bad.
Literally the worst experience ever. The people are rude and do not help you. After being turned away at a previous location I came to this location because I was told they would honor my reservation. I came here where i presented my id and. Was told that i was on the do not rent list. Even though I been a loyal client for 3-4 years. I was then turned away and then told i had to call the back office where i then stayed on the phone for about 2 hours with no one answering. Then when i emailed the back office they said that I was indeed not on the do no rent list. Which means i was turned away for no reason. I then used another car rental app where i paid $100 more when i did not have to.Stay away from this place. The manager Sheena will not help you. And her counterparts are just as bad.
They are thieves! My wife and I had a very important business trip to Hartford on August 30th. So, we rented a car for one day in this office. But the workers did not accept our debit cards or online banking credit cards, which we regularly use in the United States. Because of these problems, we lost an hour! OK. We solved this problem, took the car, and drove to Connecticut. The next day, August 31 we returned the car at 8.30. Our rent was ending just around this time. We went home by subway, calmly thinking that we had made an important meeting. BUT! After 5 days, we received a receipt, it says that we returned the car only on September 3! And they charged a fee for 5 days late return! This is a complete lie because we returned the car exactly 1 day later. On Friday we wrote a letter to support, but they dont respond. Today, this money was charged from my credit card, it was blocked, and I could not even buy food! They stole my money, and they dont even try to solve my problem!
Had a reservation to pick up a car. We got there at 11:30am, waited in line. Like 6 persons in front of us and more than then persons behind us. At 12:30 a hertz worker came out and yell there’s no more cars. Of course Everyone was concern. Everyone was trying to get an answer and she being super rude started yelling at everyone. Why would they take so many reservations and pre paid if they are not going to have any cars. After like 10 min someone else came out and hand some pamphlets with company number to get the refund. They closed at 1. They didn’t gave us any other options to pick up a car at any other location and just ignore the clients waiting outside.
Had to wait about an hour for my reservation, no lines, no other customers, three attendants. They told me their system wasnt working well and that I should go for a walk and that maybe it would be fixed. No late return instructions. Erroneous $400 cleaning fee that they will not remove. Not sure what is going on at this location, my wife and I are gold members, but quite frankly, there are too many other good companies who put focus on the customers for the rewards points to make a difference. Youre better off stealing a vehicle and chancing it with court system than choosing this Hertz.
Trip completely ruined. Showed up at 1p to pick up my car. Despite this being my reservation time, they close at 1p on Sat. They did not say a word even though I was standing right there. I took a moment to pull up my reservation info and they closed without a word. Refused to help me. They literally ran out of the office, jumped in their cars and smirked as they watched me sit there crying. No other cars were available anywhere in Manhattan or BK, so I had to eat the cost of the trip I had planned. Im wondering if they even had a car after reading these reviews. Never again. Ive rented from Hertz many times and this was truly awful. Im so upset and mortified. Ive never been treated so terribly by a business.
This location is easily accessible, but the traffic on this block is heavy, no matter the time of day. The wait to pick up a car varies, but there is always a wait. Its Brooklyn, most businesses have a long line. That said, the staff are very helpful, and the cars are clean and in great condition.
Waiting line for pickup was fair (20mins with 2 customers in front of me), the location is not great being close to a traffic light on Army Plaza theres always traffic, so for customers to get in and out can add time to process everyone but its no ones fault. The car was fairly clean, full tank, I asked for some clarifications about the ez pass since there was not the little thingy in the car and got my explanations on how it works with the license plate nice and easy (still waiting for the fee though). Return the car can be difficult if theyre processing previous customers (see locations above) but other than that everyone was busy but courteous. I try to schedule the return as late as possible but at least 1hr before closing time unless the location has plenty of space and employees: this is a small location you cant expect self checkout, red carpet, fresh fruit, and a kiss on your forehead. Its also difficult time for everyone with covid so in my personal and limited experience everyones did a great job.
Poor, lackadaisical customer service. Slow.I am a Hertz cold plus member, however I was never given the option to choose my own vehicle. Also, the wait time was a bit long because the same person that serviced me at the front desk had to retrieve the car and clean it. Additionally, I was never informed of the toll pass stored in the compartment between the driver and passenger seats.
Very horrible place and very horrible people, I had an online reservation when I got there to pick up the car,they told me my address and credit card has to have same address which I think is total B.S. youre getting paid so why do you care if the address matches the cards address. I ask if I can use my debit card cause the address is the same they told me no. Other people who received the cars were also complaining that the company was giving them dirty vehicles. I would give 0 stars if I could ,never going back there ever.
Stay away from here... We didnt read the reviews before placing a reservation, but I wish I did so I could have avoided this terrible experience. Nobody picks up the phone when you call, there is an unacceptable wait time to pick up a RESERVATION as well as dropping off a car. When dropping off a car you must wait until someone takes your keys from you. You cant leave your keys in the car and leave as per usual. This took upwards of 45 minutes for us. When I tried calling another location to hopefully get transferred to someone that could help, they hung up on me. On top of it all the volume knob in the car didnt work.
I drove my Nissan rental from CT to NY. I was driving looking for the nearest gas station in Brooklyn when the vehicle overheated (literally smoke coming from under the hood, the engine light was on, and the gauge said the cart was hot). I pulled over, called Hertz, explained the situation, and was put on hold for 1 hour, until my phone died. Used my nieces phone and was on hold another half an hour,I had my 2 year old child with me, had to call a relative that lives another city to pick up my daughter because hertz staff kept putting me on hold for 2 hours, not caring that I even had a child with me (clearly no one was coming to my rescue).So after sending my child off, I decided to drive the vehicle to the nearest hertz (park slope, Brooklyn)By then the vehicle had cooled down; I drove the vehicle for 20 min, making 2 stops to have it cool down, until I reach the nearest hertz center. I get there and was grateful when they quickly processed my paperwork to get a new vehicle.Then the staff proceeded to charge me $10 per gallon of gas because the tank had not been filled, even after I explained what happened. They Requested that I fill the tank and return the vehicle the next day because they were closing ( mean while smoke the cars engine light is still on and the vehicle is still overheating). I don’t even live in the state. They didn’t care.I will never again deal with hertz. We have all suffered from the COVID-19 pandemic. But to have little regard for my life and the life of my passengers, especially a 2 year old, was the last straw for me. To add insult to injury, I get charged not even regular gas price, but 3x that amount.Stay clear folk! Maybe enterprise is better. My vehicle is getting some body work done and I have rented from enterprise instead.And no, I still have not been refunded a single penny.
Ive been going to this location for years and my expectations have been lowered to the point where I had started walking to downtown brooklyn to get cars from avis instead. yesterday I rented my first car from this hertz in about six months and it was a fantastic experience: I got an upgrade from type of car I booked, the car was IMMACULATE, the car and contract were outside and ready to go when I arrived and my checkout took less than five minutes total. Im sure you may wait longer at a busier time but their new employees are fantastic and make it worth using this lovely little local spot.
Took 2 hours to give me the car I reserved and already paid for on their app. Saw 3 people working that day and only one actually working who took over an hour with ONE customer. Makes absolutely no sense!! The workers here move EXTREMELY slow. If they wouldn’t drag their feet things would move much faster. If you go to this location make sure you have time to spare. Also they didn’t start the reservation at the time they gave me the car but expect me to return it at the same time, great. Gave me the paperwork and then went off dealing with other cars while my car was sitting there waiting to be cleaned out. Really bad experience overall, never again!!
If I could give minus stars that would be great. Vary poorly ran location. I wish I could say it was my worst car rental experience but that would mean that there were cars involved. Waited for 2 and a half hours to be told there are no cars available and will be no cars available. Atrocious business. Very unprofessional.
One star is too much for the Hertz location. The staff and service are excellent but the garage itself it an absolute disaster. The lines to get in to rent a car and then to return the car can be over an hour wait if not longer. Most people attempting to return their car can’t get into the garage and have to double park on the street with all of the traffic around Grand Army Plaza. The low price associated with rentals at this location are low for a very good reason and it is absolutely not worth it. Again, not the fault of the staff but an overwhelmed garage.
I arrived at the location at 11:45 and no one was there to get the car from. I then waited for an additional 15 minutes hoping someone would show up to work. By 12 still nobody there I asked someone who was working in the garage they had no idea. I made numerous calls no one picked up. I dont understand how I could make a reservation for a car on a Saturday and have no one there. Hertz allowed me to make a reservation here even though there was no one here to release the car to me. If the business hours say you are open on Saturday someone should be there if not dont say youre open online and dont allow people to make reservations on that day. Hertz took my money and ran this place is an absolute scam dont waste your time and money.
I went into picking up the car expecting the worst based on the reviews. Maybe I just got lucky but it was pretty seamless from pickup to drop off. I think it’s just a busy, small garage and has a high turnover and low inventory of cars so if someone is late with returning one, everything gets thrown off. But it worked out for me.
Avoid this Hertz location as much as you possibly can. Location is often out of the requested vehicle at pick up. Returns (especially on Sunday) are always a nightmare. Staff is apathetic at best and deficient at worst.In late June I returned a vehicle on time. My vehicle was brusquely taken by an attendant and I was told I would receive a receipt in the email. A day later my receipt comes with an extra $40 late fee attached. I call Hertz, they tell me the vehicle was reportedly returned at 7pm (4 hours after this location closed on the day in question). An hour on the phone later, Im told by a Hertz representative that I will receive a refund in 5-7 business days.8 days later I am contacted by an external billing company saying I am responsible for $1200 in damage to this vehicle. No major incidents on my trip, and the vehicle was in perfect condition when I gave it to the attendant. Also worth noting- this was the first time I had heard about this damage, and it was from an external billing company. Hertz never contacted me about the damage.To make a long story short(er), my insurance thankfully handled the fraudulent damage charges. My refund for the fraudulent late fee was not issued until a month later, after I had to spend another two hours on the phone with Hertz. I was also told by a manager that after they looked into the late fee I would be contacted whether I received the refund or not. No one ever contacted me.My theory is that the attendant took my vehicle, accidentally damaged it and after waiting until later in the evening decided to try to pin the damage on me. I have no way to prove that, but the fact remains I returned an undamaged vehicle on time.I know this company is hurting- but I was a loyal customer that they have lost forever. If you have to go with Hertz, try the location in downtown Brooklyn unless you are a glutton for punishment.
Had to wait 2 hours to pick up a car even with a reservation. They said they ran out of cars and had to transport more in from JFK. Employees relatively courteous, seemed caught in the middle of terrible management. What is a supposed reservation if you cant get a car when you arrive? Line was so long, dont know what happened to those behind me. Then I get a $20 charge a week later on my card that no customer service rep can explain. May do a charge back. Suggest you avoid Hertz at all costs - feel bad for the poor employees at this location, so mismanaged.
Got there early and still waited two hours in line to pick up our car, and the true pickup time wasn’t even correctly listed on the slip so we didn’t have the 24 hours we paid for. Car interior was dirty. Returning was even worse. Waited for over an hour and a half in a line around the block, with absolutely zero communication from the employees despite repeated requests from multiple customers asking for direction. This experience was terrible. I would avoid this place on all counts.
The manager tried to upsell. The reserved car was not available, so the manager wanted to charge more money for an upgrade. Had to call Hertz customer services who promptly re-booked me at a different location and honored the reservation price. Will not come back to this location.
Don’t do it. You may think this is a convenient location but the reality is to pickup a car you will wait in line for over an hour and a half with a reservation and when returning the vehicle get ready to spend 45 mins to an hour on Union street waiting in line inside your running car, blocking an entire lane of traffic. Could be faster if they had more than one person returning cars, but no...Hertz is obviously not concerned with you or their staff who undoubtedly get the brunt of all the angry customers. The poor staff, it’s not their fault. Seriously, no one has that kind of time to waist. You’re better off going to the airport or any other location than this. Improve your systems or just close the location.
Updated Review 2021:I can not believe that I could not get the car at this location, because Ashley (she said that she is the manager) did nor want to rent a car to me. I was waiting for 1 hour, just to tell me that. The had many cars available. Very rude people. I do not recommend this location for renting. So, different experience from 4 years ago.Review from 2017: Thanks to the people who work at this location for helping me to swap the car that was rented on the other location. Nice and polite people. Clean car. Thank you!
Avoid at all costs. The employees are nice and friendly but the cars are in disrepair. Had a blow out on the NJ turnpike and despite paying for emergency road side service, I had to pay for the tow truck myself with no reimbursement. The tire shop I took it to said the all the tires had dangerously low tire pressure. I can only assume their recent bankruptcy has caused them to cut corners in both maintenance and customer service.
I’m not going to be the first reviewer to mention the manager at this location is rude and unpleasant. She had no desire to help, even though I was the only person at the location. Aside from telling me that my reserved vehicle class is not available (also very typical of this place from the reviews), she refused to accept my visa debit card from a major bank for deposit. I told her I have no other form of payment on me other than cash, which she also refused to accept.. I was forced to leave without a vehicle which I had reserved in advance. Place is disorganized and felt like a junk yard. They park cars on the street, and not in the lot. At the end I went to thrifty and they gladly took my debit card...
Repeatedly LIED when I asked if they had found AirPods and other items in the vehicle. Lied and said the car had been rented, then it was out for cleaning, then they would call back (never did) then when we went physically to check the vehicle we realized they had never even checked in the vehicle. Tried to talk to manager was hung up on.
This is the worst company I have ever encountered. We not only waited over an hour to return the car after cleaning it, but they forced us to either pay $400 or clean it again. They are unprofessional, rude, and consistently waste your time. This exact thing happened to a friend and we should have taken her advice. They are a terribly run company.
Legitimately the worst rental car service possible from this location (and company). In addition to inexcusably long lines (1+ hour is normal) and terrible customer service (when running late for my friend’s wedding their employees directly challenged me by stating I was supposed to be there earlier - when I had been waiting in line for over an hour)... their employees will not allow cars to be returned even 15 minute early. The drop off and pick up service at this location is frustrating and terrible. My last rental had less that a qtr tank when I picked it up, and it stank of cigarette smoke (provide a warning please, what if I had asthma?). Will be calling corporate for a full refund. In short - STAY AWAY

This place is a mess. Waited almost 2 hours to pick up my reserved vehicle. Was given a vehicle without an ez-pass.. and no one was available to help me with this.. there was a line of about 30 people still waiting at 2pm who had all been there since 12pm.. Upon return I was yelled at by an employee, what are you doing? Dont you see the line?? who accused me of skipping the return line (I did not.. I was waiting in line the entire time). Just rude from pickup to drop off.I understand its busy location but jeez.. will most definitely never come here again. Its much easier to pick up from another agency at the airport where you can go in and out no problem and able to ask questions.
Such genuinely nice and accommodating employees. I don’t know how Hertz has managed to find such wonderful, authentic people to staff both their Union St and Dean St locations, but they have. It is so refreshing during such a difficult time to interact with people who are kind and authentic. Thank you for always making my day a little brighter when I rent from you (both Union and Dean Sts). You are all a bunch of rockstars.
I wish I could give 0 stars. Worst Customer Service experience I have ever received with any business in my life. I Made a reservation for 5 PM Pick-up (Posted store hours until 6PM). I came late 5:05 PM and the office was closed with no body available to answer questions and no way to pick up the car. I then called back the following morning At time of open but no answer, I called back 2 hours later and was told my reservation was cancelled(No email, confirmation no option to speak to someone). I was told I could try to book another car in 3 days.
I had an amazing experience with Angle he is an amazing worker at this location and he makes sure that you get the car you want. I take out cars from from this Hertz location on a monthly basis and I com in and out of there under 5 minutes the whole process # best local location
DONT RENT A CAR FROM HERE. It will be much quicker and nicer if you take a car service to la guardia or JFK and get a car from there. I waited an hour and 30mins to get the car as a five star member (they don’t care about Hertz status anymore). I then proceeded to wait about 45 minutes around the block to return the car 2 weeks later. When returning it they started inspecting the car meticulously and found a hair as well as a few grains of sand, and threatened me with the 400$ cleaning fee. They told me it was ok to go clean it and come back before 5pm. I then went to a gas station to re vacuum the car. After coming back and then reinspecting it they proceeded TO CHARGE ME FOR AN ADDITIONAL DAY even though they said it was ok to drop it a few hours later. A similar thing happened to a friend. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Horrible service. My rental agreement stated 3pm drop off on Sunday and I arrived at 2:40pm. Five attendants were pulling cars into the garage but refused to take my car back. They told me to take it to JFK or Manhattan even though I was there well before the drop off time listed on the ticket they gave me. Phone customer service could do nothing to help me. Do not believe the service times listed on your rental contract. No wonder this company declared bankruptcy.
I have never written a review before but I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this Hertz. When my husband and I went to return the car were told that we would be charged a $400 cleaning fee because there where remnants of pet fur in the car. There was no indication of Hertz’s strict pet policy anywhere on the agreement that we signed. This agreement clearly outlined $10 and $15 fees that could be incurred but said nothing of a $400 fee. Had we known this was possible we would not have rented from hertz (and will never do so again). We have had no problem with pet cleaning fees at Enterprise or other car rental companies. When we asked the manager to point to where on our agreement it outlines such a fee she was unable to do so, and simply said it was on the website. Luckily we were able to postpone returning the car and cleaned the pet fur out ourselves to avoid the fee. However if Hertz would not take the car in its previous condition it leads me to believe they are not thoroughly cleaning their cars between users.
This rental location is awful and the service is so disappointing. You’re better off driving to the nearest airport to get your rental. Through the hertz website I booked my rental for pickup at 5pm, and I showed up greeted by a locked door and the gate down. Why on earth would you allow for customers to book a pick-up at the time that the location closes?? To make matters worse, we showed up the next morning at 8am (opening time) to find the location still closed!!! One of the worse experiences I’ve had with a rental company. This is the last time I try to step outside of my usual rental agencies.
Waited for more than 2 hours! The people working there had their masks on and off even when talking to us or inside a car. There was no social distancing in the line to get the car. Worst car rental experience ever. Dangerous. And when I return the car tomorrow they told me it will be a long wait too.
DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM THIS PLACE unless you like to wait and wait and wait some more. I had a reservation for 9 am and showed up at 8:50 am only to find a huge line outside their garage. It took more than an hour of standing in line outside in the sun before I was given a car. The person who took me to the car explained that the boss prioritized the platinum members so us regular people had to wait even longer in line than we should have. Now that the boss was out the employees could let the rest of us get cars too. The car I got was not the intermediate 4 door car I had booked but a huge van with 7 seats. The explanation I got was that they had only 3 cars left and if there had been 3 people in front of me in line I wouldnt have gotten a car. Are you kidding me???It was too late for me to book somewhere else so I didnt have a choice but to accept this huge car, an hour after I was supposed to have left.Coming back was no different. I showed up at 8 am, an hour before my time was up. There was a line of cars going around the block, waiting to return the cars. This effectively blocked one lane going around the corner and I waited 40 minutes until a woman knocked on the window and said I could leave the car and come back at noon. They wouldnt charge me for that, she said. Why do I need to come back at noon, I said. She said she needed to fill out the paperwork. Why cant you do it now, I said. She didnt respond but said I was welcome to wait. A while later a guy told me to drive around the corner. There was an open parking there. The woman from before would show me where, he said. I drove up but the woman was nowhere to be seen. I found a spot to park the car anyway and saw that the woman was busy explaining to the police why they were blocking traffic around the block. Eventually she came up to my car, looked at my papers and noted the milage and gas. Apparently this is the part she couldnt do last time we spoke and if I had left I would have had to come back at noon just to watch her do it. This took her less than 20 seconds.How can you run a business like this? If you dont have enough cars you shouldnt let people book them. Overbooking, lack of information and poor customer service are the keywords here. This place is clearly mismanaged and I dont understand how Hertz can let this continue.

This location the staffs I met are all nice!Updates 2021 thanksgivingElliott helps me out friendly and attentively. I’m truly appreciate his help.Overall 1year rental experience from here is great. Happy friendly staffs. We are lucky to have them in the neighborhood.

2021-08-08TLDR: Would give 0 stars if I could. Garage attendant refused to accept car close to closing time, car came with half tank (purchased full tank), car was dirty.Terrible experience is an understatement. The person in the garage cleaning the cars, giving them to customers and accepting returns is absolutely the last person Hertz should have interacting with customers. Extremely rude and does not understand what is included in the rental options (i.e. purchasing a full tank of gas online, doesnt equate to a full tank upon receipt of vehicle).Returning the car was a nightmare, the reservation was until 2PM. I returned the car at 1:59PM and the garage attendant tried to beat his chest and say I could not return the car and needed to go to Manhattan to return the car because they stop accepting cars at 2:00PM, again, it was 1:59PM when I pulled into the garage. The customer should not be responsible for calling the location to determine when cars should be returned, Hertz should shorten the return time if the location accepts cars 30 min prior to closing.Hertz, if youre actually reading these reviews, fire the garage attendant, he should not be able to interact with customers. It will be due to him that I would never return to this location, and likely not rent from Hertz again. There are many rental companies out there, I dont need to pay to deal with a headache.

2022-02-26Bait and switch! I reserved a Luxury SUV and received a busted mini van! I had no choice but to take it because I needed a vehicle that seated 7 passengers. The customer service is absolutely horrible. Employees are rude. No indoor waiting area so I was outside in the rain when I picked up the car. Hertz should do themselves a favor and close this location if they care about their reputation. I would never rent from Hertz again.

2022-04-18I would make this a 0 star if I could. I booked a 7 seater SUV a month in advance. I planned a trip with my family. The rental left me a voice mail that they dont have the vehicle available, I could cancel my reservation as a courtesy.WHAT? I called Hertz, I spoke some people that dont speak English, was on the phone for an hour and there was nothing they would do to accommodate.HORRIBLE SERVICE. DO NOT RENT FROM HERTZ. YOU WILL REGRET.

2022-01-22I was charged.$187 for a fuel charge upon return. I was told not to fill up the car as it was given to me with an empty tank. Reaching the location is an absolute nightmare, as nobody picks up the phone. When I finally reached Priscilla I was told I would receive my refund within 6 weeks, however, never received a refund on January 22nd. I kept being put through to the corporate Hertz offices when calling the locations number, and they repeatedly told me I have to call the location itself. After I finally got someone on the phone, I was told they cant help me. So my charge never got released.

2022-06-07The team is very professional. Cars are brand new compared to other locations. They will give you the exact or close to the type of car you have booked. One of the better locations after Dean St. Shoutout to Karim and his colleagues (the lady I didn’t get her name) they were very helpful. 😀😃

2022-02-21Made a mistake in charges but they fixed it quickly. Never had any other issues here - usually a few minutes to wait in a manageable line, but cars have always been ready and clean. Nice manager/staff

2021-10-24DO NOT RENT OR RETURN HERE. Don’t just take my word for it: read all the one-star reviews. There’s a consistent theme. I have regretted renting and returning a car here each time I’ve done so.Very long wait on any weekend or morning. The office is not staffed to handle the volume of business. Expect 1+ hour minimum for pickup.Don’t count on availability. I have booked rental cars for pickup here online , waited in line for over an hour, and upon reaching the window, been informed that there are no cars available. No recourse. No refund. Thank the broker for our donation.When trying to return cars here, they’ll make you circle the block multiple times. They use travel lanes on Union Street as their parking lot. The neighborhood and through traffic would be better off if this business were shuttered.

2022-01-25If youre using this location to drop off only, then its ok.For pickup:Excepting the fact that theres no indoor waiting area- just a counter outside- which means youll be standing in the cold/heat/rain etc til youre serviced, the customer service is ok.My issue is with the upkeep of the cars. While the interior was decently clean, my real issue was the exterior. Normally I couldnt care less, but this was NYC in winter and I couldnt see a thing out of my windshield on a snowy day. The windshield and wipers had salt-dust all over it, and no amount of wiper fluid made a difference as the wipers themselves were the cause. I tried cleaning them but it didnt help much. Am I meant to get a professional car wash on a 24 hr rental?? Hertz: service your cars so that your clients can actually drive in them safely.
