Such a lovely place for tea! The food was delicious! I came in for a meal with friends and we were impressed with the beauty of the experience. Everything was served with little details that made everything extra special. Even the owner offered us champagne! I can’t I wait to come back to with my daughters!
Very beautiful and atmospheric tea room! I am an avid tea drinker and a self-proclaimed ‘student of tea’ (always trying to learn as much as I can about tea and how it’s served in various cultures). I am a teacher and spend a fair amount of time in the summer combing through NYC looking for every tea spot I can find.I have done a fair amount of afternoon teas at this point. I thought the afternoon tea here was exquisite. The jasmine tea that I had was strong and pure without being overpowering. I love how you had a choice between three sandwiches for your entrees — most of the afternoon teas that I have provide a very rigid set menu, no questions asked. The pastries were also delightful — please ask for the pistachio lemon cake! The ambiance was beautiful. The owner has a background in fashion and you can see it in the artwork/decor. The classy look and French music really transports you to a little tea paradise for a while. I really appreciated how the owner gave me some background on herself and why she opened the tearoom. You can see and feel her love for her work. The owner was super friendly and inviting. I was a solo diner, which I am not sure is the norm at this tea spot. With that in mind, the owner was super accommodating and flexible about providing a single-person reservation for me, and I was really excited to try out the tea service.I typically try a tea service alone first, and then bring back friends and relatives if I enjoy it. I most certainly will be back here! I would be excited to see this beautiful little space decorated for the various seasons, especially Halloween, Christmas, etc.
This was an experience so authentic, it makes a visitor wonder if they need their passport. One step through the unassuming entrance transports the guest into a light, bright, romantic space that is chic and magnifique; that environment alone is an experience. I ordered the high tea service, and it was tremendous. Beautifully paced to allow me to savor every course and moment. I cannot recommend that he Parisian Tea Room enough—if you get away to NYC, make sure to leave room in your itinerary for this little getaway during your stay!
The service was good but this is boring and overpriced. You get a cheap and plain salad, mediocre croissant with a little bit of hummus (or whatever “sandwich” you choose) and the dessert was depressing. Cheap store bought brownies and cannolis. Average macarons. The tea was just tea bags, not leaves. All in all a waste of money. About $120 for two people when you can spend $30 at the store for better quality products.
Stumbled on this gem of elegance after being treated to High Tea at the Parisian Tea Room for a birthday celebration. What a wonderful delightful experience. Each course was well presented, tasty and fresh . Loved the selection of teas and pastries and the yummy compote , serving of French Onion Soup and cheese plate . Portions were to perfection ..The hostess was pleasant and so attentive. The experience was totally beyond our expectations.I definitely would return and I’m planning a girls tea party in the spring . Ou La La .. this experience was exceptional …I highly recommend …👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
A hidden gem! We had a wonderful time! Parisian tea room is an adorable spot for afternoon at a reasonable price. This is a new spot so I would recommend getting a reservation here before it becomes super popular! The service was wonderful, the pastries and tea were delicious, and the atmosphere was relaxed and fun. We would definitely come back!
We went to the Parisian Tea Room in New York for my daughter’s 21st birthday and absolutely loved it!! Our server, Ayla, was very sweet and efficient, and made it very comfortable and enjoyable. The atmosphere and music made the experience feel authentic. The High Tea menu was delicious and fulfilling. Will definitely return when visiting the city!
I came here yesterday with my mom for a late Mother’s Day. My expectations were not only met, but exceeded. Despite being busy and the only wait staff, Ayla was an outstanding server. She brought out all of the courses of our High Tea in a timely manner, and made an effort to connect with us by chatting here and there. She additionally let us try some of her house made iced tea which was remarkable. Whoever is in charge needs to 1. Give her a raise and 2. Sell her iced tea. This may have been only my first time coming to this establishment but it certainly will not be my last. I recommend this to anyone looking for a classy fun time in the city. I truly did feel like I was in Paris while here.
My favorite thing to do in the city is find hidden gems, and that’s exactly what this place is. The second you step inside, you feel like you’ve left the craziness of nyc and settled into a Parisian cafe, right down to the lovely French music playing. It’s so beautiful (we took SO many selfies lol), and I love how cozy it is- the seating arrangement is really cool, and since it’s a smaller space, it never feels too crazy or crowded, even when they’re fully booked. (Make sure you reserve a table, the owner was telling us that they fully book up in advance every Saturday and Sunday)And the food is AMAZING. You can tell that everything is fresh. We did the high tea specifically because I wanted some French Onion soup (my all time favorite kind of soup) and I think it was the best French onion I’ve ever had. The tray with our sandwiches and desserts was SO pretty, I don’t even want to think about how many pics I took…and the food tasted just as good as it looked. The macarons were my favorite, I ended up taking four more home to go.Service was amazing too- the girls seemed to have a lot of fun together while also remaining attentive, polite, and professional, which I really appreciated. Karen, the owner, even stopped by our table to check on us, she was so nice! She seems so passionate about the business she’s created, and it really mattered to her that we had a great overall experience.I don’t write reviews too often, but I feel like I have to when I’ve found such a great place- I will absolutely be back! Today I was here on a date with my husband, but I have to bring my friends for a girls high tea soon. It’s important that we all treat ourselves after the craziness of the last two years, and this was the perfect place to do so.Thanks again for a great afternoon!!!
Having been to many Afternoon Tea/High Tea places, this one definitely did not live up to expectations. For the price of the High Tea (75pp), I highly recommend going to the Russian Tea Room, or Alices Tea cup for half the price. The food here was okay (nothing wow worthy), but the service wasnt exactly the best. Several servers repeatedly forgot items I requested (and I gave up and stopped asking), and the main 3 tier food plates only arrived an HOUR after we sat down. There was also a very long gap between each dish. The tea was from a bag, was expecting loose leaf for that price. The appetizers included a salad (without dressing), a tiny cup of tomato soup and a cheese plate. The food was okay, but was portioned to be very very tiny. You definitely will not leave feeling full, like from other tea places. The café is very cute and girly looking but incredibly tiny. I think they can maybe fit 15 people in there, max.
The Parisian Tea Room is the most luxurious way to enjoy high tea and decadent pastries in the heart of NYC. I spend the morning with my friends sipping on the most delicious tea and enjoying the beauty of this amazing Tea Room. The experience was 10/10 and we cannot wait to go back! Thank you for having us!
I had the best experience of my life at this tea house. The chicken salad is incredible but not as amazing as my wonderful hostess Ayla. My phone was stolen yesterday abroad and I arrived in New York with nothing but my own thoughts. Using a physical map, I walked (initially in the wrong direction) over 50 blocks to get here. Exceeded my expectations. 💕💕
We had afternoon tea at the Parisian Tea Room to celebrate a birthday. This is a very cute little tea house and the service is so attentive. There were seven of us in our group and we all chose from their wide selection of teas. None of us were disappointed in our choices...they were all so delicious.
A lovely experience. Everyone here treated us so graciously and elegantly. We chose High Tea, and were given a plethora of choices of bites and tea. The tea was fabulous, and each course wowd us without fail. I will definitely be bringing more people back to this place.
My college bestie took me out to celebrate my 55th birthday for High Tea at the Parisian Tea Room. We were the second party with reservations to arrive out of five. I noticed the couple seated before us taking photos of the three tiered food tray with a rose flower box on top. To our dismay we received our three tiered food tray without any flowers. The remaining guests after us all received tiered food trays with flowers. I mentioned this to the server who appeared bothered by me mentioning it and loudly stated well sometimes they run out. My friend brought to my attention that there were three additional flower tiered serving trays behind me on a shelf. Immediately afterwards this became the topic of conversation at the tables. In addition my friend asked for chai tea the server brought the pot however didn’t bring a cup and saucer; after 15 minutes I had to remind the server my friend needed one. At this point I was beginning to take it personally—my friend still holding out hope said to wait and see how the server was going to make things right however NOTHING was said or done. It’s disappointing especially since we were there to have a lovely brunch just like all of the others without feeling slighted-I forgot to mention we were the only people of color there. It’s a shame that we had to accept sub par treatment when we paid the same price as everyone else.
This is a beautiful place. I love that the menu is preselected because I can sit and talk without having to worry about what to order. The presentation of the entrees and desserts are perfect, especially for pictures. And the MACAROONS OR TO DIE FOR!! I love the waitresses because they truly care about making the experience a great one.
I don’t know why people are giving such high ratings to this place. I would not recommend this place. You can go for high tea to a better place at the same price. It was not spacious at all, we waited for 20 mins even after we had the reservation. Food was just average and the menu they have mentioned for high tea is a hoax. They will say that you get the fruit compote with brouche and other stuff and then combine things in a small plate. Service was really slow. I regret going to other tea places which has better price and value for money
Popped in for an early morning coffee when they first opened based on google reviews. The pictures of food look good and made me think I should return for breakfast. The coffee I got was pretty straight forward, nothing really special to report out. Clean place, ample seating, need to visit again.
Edit: As everyone can see, the ownership of this establishment cannot take responsibility for their own actions and has resorted to attacking us for leaving an honest review. Classy. First, the couple that came in during our experience had a reservation, showed it to the ladies at the counter, and the ladies at the counter agreed that they had a reservation for that day and apologized profusely. They attempted to call the owner to ask what to do and the owner did not pick up. We watched this unfold, so claiming that we couldnt see or hear what was going on is ridiculous. We are relaying exactly what we witnessed for nearly 20 minutes right next to us. Furthermore, the High Tea again was not the luxurious High Tea experience advertised on the website. The food was subpar, as was the service. Any restaurant with class would reach out directly to a patron who had a poor experience, but the ownership here has decided to personally attack us for our honest review. Im perplexed, especially because a recent facebook reviewer had a similarly poor experience at their NJ location. We are well aware that this was French High Tea - that doesnt change the fact that it was still done poorly. Remember everyone, if you come here and dare to review this business honestly, they will not reach out to you to correct the situation. Instead they will attack you. Covid is not an excuse for this (completely avoidable) poor treatment of customers. I am changing my rating from 2 stars to 1 star.Original Review:We had a reservation for the Valentines Day Weekend High Tea. Truthfully I wasnt expecting the subpar experience we had based on the reviews. The inside, while charming, is actually much smaller than the photos show. This is okay, but it made for a strange seating arrangement. The service was also just okay, nothing spectacular by any means. We were told upon seating that we had to be gone by 3pm because of another reservation. We understood this of course, but being told that upon arrival for *our* reservation gave us a negative first impression. Its apparent that the staff have not been trained in what is supposed to feel like a luxurious treat. The food was also average for the most part. The sandwiches barely had any filling and the desserts were very heavy on rich chocolate. One dessert was supposed to be a raspberry sponge but it actually had a mousse consistency, like the majority of the desserts on the tray. The French onion soup was, however, delicious. Furthermore, there were two of us and we did not each receive one of each item on the tray like we have at every other High Tea weve been to. Instead, we had to use our knives to awkwardly attempt to cut everything in half. If one person orders High Tea, do they just not give that person half of the items on the tray? Or did we actually get charged for two of each item when they only gave us one? Very confused over this.Lastly, a very young couple came in all dressed up for a Valentines date with a confirmed reservation in hand, and the shop turned them away. There was a very awkward exchange going where the staff told the poor gentleman they were so sorry and asked if they could come back the next day despite their reservation, because they had a large party coming in an entire hour later 😕 It was awkward and sad to witness this poor couple go from excited to disappointed. This certainly ruined the atmosphere.Overall we were very unimpressed, especially because we were charged $75/pp for a High Tea experience that did not command that kind of price. We felt that the website really sells this as a very fancy and indulgent experience, but it was not by any means. I would not recommend anyone pay the kind of money we did.
We experienced high tea and it was delightful. Everything was delicious, the ambiance was beautiful, and the staff was attentive. I would come back again and again. If you don’t have time to experience the whole sit down tea, you can grab a macaron (my favorite!) or a freshly made croissant. Very Parisian, very beautiful, very recommended!
“Tres Magnifique”! What a lovely High Tea experience , Parisian style , at West 36th Street in NYC!! The moment you walk through the door the ambiance is so welcoming and inviting and very cozy! We went to the Parisian Tea Room for brunch and chose the Five course menu! A lovely salad, charcuterie, onion soup, and a three tier platter with your choice of freshly baked croissant sandwiches and a large assortment of French pastries!Amazing attentive hostess, beautiful decor with lovely music , interesting teas and great food earns The Parisian Tea Room 5 stars!! Bon appetite!!!

2022-02-26Girls breakfast a la Parisian! A pretty, cozy tea room with attention to detail, offering a delightful assortment of choices. We ordered a la cart and enjoyed the cappuccino (with oat milk) instead of tea. The Almost Croque Monsieur (see picture) was served with a small side salad and it was delicious. Sarah, the hostess took great care of us and made sure we enjoyed our experience. My husband enthusiastically devoured the almond croissant we brought home. We are looking forward to our next visit.

2022-01-22Tea - 5Atmosphere - 5Service - 5Value - 5Quiche - 4A lovely, relaxing little tea house with fine decor and tasteful music. The tea itself was wonderfully aromatic, and served at the perfect temperature. I highly recommend refilling your tea pot with hot water because we felt that the quality and strength of the tea really persisted. While the quiche was a bit cold and wet on the inside, the croissant was warm and fresh and delightful.

2022-02-25Hi I really enjoyed the experience I want on my birthday weekend. I went in the first week of February 2022, it was really nice,me and my mother we got a afternoon tea which was $55 I believe. The two waitresses were really nice. They explained the teas on the menu and they were very attentive. They also put a candle on the pastries and they sing happy birthday to me which is really sweet. I will definitely come back again.

2022-02-27We had the most marvelous time here. Our server took very good care of us and everything was delicious. Our most favorite items were the organza bleu hot chocolate, and the ham/cheese croissant sandwiches.Although smaller than expected, the space was absolutely beautiful and well kept. There were lots of Instagram-worthy moments. This was our first time doing high tea, so the standard is set pretty high for any high tea we do in the future. We would certainly visit again! 💕

The Parisian Team Room exceeded my expectations and was an absolute delight experience. In honor of my mothers 50th birthday, we came from NC to NYC and started her birthday festivities with a birthday parTea! My mother felt extra special throughout our visit thanks to Karen who ensured we had a wonderful time. In addition, the specialty French teas, salad, assorted French cheeses, onion soup, croissant sandwiches, and desserts were all like nothing weve had before as they were all so delicious. Thanks so much, Karen, and we cant wait to visit again soon!

2022-06-23This will remain as one of the most memorable experiences ever!! French high tea on a Wednesday afternoon was everything I imagined. The waitress, Jocelyn, highly attended to our needs and has the most pleasant personality. We also had the chance to meet Karen, the lovely fashionable owner. Tea and pastries were super delish! So many photo ops as well. Will come again :)

2022-07-23I had a lovely experience! The owner, Karen, was really sweet and friendly. The cutlery and plates were adorable and the food was super yummy! The chocolate desserts in particular were delicious. Karen has a fashion school next door and you can see elements of her designs in the tea room as well. Really lovely place to visit!

2022-04-15Not worth $75 / person. Service is good there is one lady doing her best to make sure everyone is taken care of. The tea is delicious but the food is composed of whittled lettuce and old grapes. The Croissant doesn’t take a fresh baked and the cucumbers where not the delicate thin slices you would expect. The pastries were ok and the tomato fennel soup was defiantly the star of the appetizers
