I was in a state... But had a positive experience here. Its small but feels comfortable as opposed to claustrophobic. I thought the patrons were great. Friendly vibe all around where you can settle in for a few pints of Old Speckled Hen and relax. Very local spot, but I wouldnt call it a dive. Its a public house. I was there for the footy. World Cup. Packed in, it was great.
I was unsure of the place when I first walked in. The bartender kinda gave me the fifth degree as to why I was there but it was bc of my sweatshirt and we became friends very quickly. As usual being a female alone in a bar I got the usual attention from guys sitting next to me but they were rude and didnt buy me any drinks, they were more interested in the rugby game on.I ordered a fireball and ginger ale, which was watered down and a fireball shot which was warm. But after a few drinks I expected a huge tab.2 fireball shots (warm)2 fireball/ginger ale1 double fireball/ginger ale1 Guinness (tasted watered down)Total bill - $35I would go here again but next time ask they ice the fireball shots and make my drinks a double so it doesnt taste like water and maybe send back the Guinness.
Place is great, my problem is with the bartender. The fact that she is incredibly contentious and always piss drunk after 9pm doesnt even bother me so much as the fact that she is a THIEF. If you leave something at the bar, she will go through it and take what she wants and make you bargain to get things back. Will never be going back here so long as this horrible, disgusting rat of a human works there.
DONT GO HERE IF YOU LIKE AMERICAN FOOTBALL. My husband and I were literally accosted by bar regulars who find American football to be reprehensible. Literally, things were thrown at us (and were not obnoxious people). Go to Bar 776, Ox Tavern, Bar Chord, Lea, or even Sycamore. All will be more welcoming!
This is a place where you give 5 stars for being exactly what it suppose to be, an Irish pub with the same soccer match on 5 TVs. Small place with a bartender/owner (my guess) that seems genuine. Only thing to note, No Guinness on tap. He went for Oharas Irish Stout priced very reasonably and quite smooth.
This is everything you would expect of a neighborhood bar in Brooklyn: seats, drinks, a bar, a TV, and if they dont know you already, they soon will. On the small side, so cozy and intimate. The unisex restroom is covered with old Playboy covers of centerfolds who are now probably in retirement homes.
One girl was in tears earlier today and the bartender really took care of her to make sure she was OK. This isn’t my regular watering hole and I don’t write reviews but I just want to give a shout out to the bartender who was working tonight. Sorry I didn’t get your name.
Lovely people! came her in 2015, im orginally from Highbury and am a Gooner. Sat and talked and listened to many a great stories of coming to USA and shows and bands and great concerts. Fantastic decor in the ladies bathroom. Really great guys. thanks (even though a little late) xxx
Good little soccer bar nice bartender def a mens bar but we didnt feel out of place, will be back for other games only negative is no happy hour was a bit over priced for a Wednesday 3pm type of thing would be nice if they had like 2 dollar or even dollar off a drink.

2022-03-18What can I say, this is the local spot for a drink. You’ll meet your neighbors maybe learn more about them than you want. But in the end of the day it’s a community and the bartenders are always friendly and know how to make a drink. Also if you’re into soccer this is your spot they play all the big leagues on TV.

2022-03-03My local arsenal bar! Very laid back and friendly. People are just as willing to have a conversation as leave you alone. Never seen it over crowded for a game, but I dont really go in the evenings.

2021-11-19I went in here with a friend for a drink later in the evening and it was one of the only bars still open in the area. The bartenders were very nice and quick, the crowd was eclectic but very nice and they had a jazz band playing that was lively and got the crowd going. I had a specialty rum cocktail, something fruity and beachy, and it was very good and very reasonably priced for NY. I am from NJ and am not in BK often but if I were in the area I would go back again.

2021-12-24Favorite local bar with some very interesting characters that flow through during every night. If you are lucky you may even catch a local celebrity or 2.

2018-02-15Come for the UK feel, stay for the great beer selection and quirky/saucy bathroom.I love that the car is wheelchair accessible with a wide bathroom to boot, however, I didnt stay long because of my personal preference for stools with a back. The beer selection was great and the bartender was friendly on a Sunday afternoon. I havent been for a soccer, football or rugby match but would return.

2019-10-23I discounted Highbury initially because it was so crowded during the peak hours, but it’s actually becoming one of my favorites.Hat tip to bartender Kevin — who’s super friendly, very hospitable, and keeps a good eye out for the place.Recommendation: I suggest maybe a bigger wine menu (they only had one type of white wine yesterday). Understandable given that it’s a “guy” kinda place but women like to have options ya know? Also, prices are very fair!
