Been going to Hillsong for over 4 years. I came here after longing for community and haven’t left. Amazing people & a lot of love for our pastors. If you’re in town for a visit definitely check it out.
Service, worship, message all great. Inspiring, worshipful, relevant. Initial Security screening by extreme and didnt feel llike family or home
Amazing worship!! it was a joy and an honor and a privilege to be here! the guest speaker was also great and spoke on “this is how i fight my battles” - fighting your battles in 2019 with the power of the Lord and His promises and not our own strength! definitely want to visit again!
Love the church and they also have a lot of different activities like connect group, volunteer teams, conferences. Worship is only one of the best part. Even thou in the sermons may only refer to a short paragraph in bible but the teaching is always related to your daily life.
Ive spent most of my adult life serving in church and working on my relationship with Jesus as opposed to becoming religious. When I moved to NY, my family and I wanted to find a church where we knew we could grow. The very first weekend we found Hillsong. We were a bit hesitant because we are weary of mega churches but all of our doubts vanished after the first service. The pastors are all anointed and gifted orators. Although it can be a challenge to get connected, its possible if you seek it. The services are refreshing and the messages are truly thoughtful, filled with Biblical teachings actually based in the Bible and with real life implications. I have never been to a church like this and I have never looked forward to Sundays as I do now. Im thankful that God brought me here.
I’ve never been to this church and will NEVER go to this church… false teachings and not biblical at all… STAY AWAY!!!

My wife and I where visiting NY in December and we went Hillsong NYC. Great Jesus centered church, great message and powerful worship. We definitely loved being there and we will be praying for this church.
I went to their services and I did not feel the presence of God in this church that I have to stop coming. Seems like a club or a entertainment service. Wheres repentance in their teachings?! Find a real Bible based, a church that has accountability, a church that stand on what God says.

Very beautiful serviceNice atmosphere...great singing and wonderful message. The ushers are very orderly. Security guards do a screening and metal detector test of all individuals. This made me feel really secured. I was surprised to see so many young people of NYC attending church. And everyone was warm and friendly. No fighting on the bathroom lines...people greeted each other in church....
Loved the service we went to! Worship was amazing! Service lasted under an hour and a half which was just perfect. Volunteers were all very friendly and helpful. We had several people introduce themselves to us and our kids. We got there about 30 minutes before to wait in line to get in. Message was phenomenal! We walked out feeling so recharged and blessed!

The church is AMAZING! I went there for a Sunday service once and love the experience! It was an event full of energy and enthusiasm from everyone who attended. It was the most organized and highest quality church I have been. Highly recommend it to everyone even if you are not religious. You will feel amazed and welcome!
Get there early to find a seat as many people claim a seat with a book or paper and hang out elsewhere. Beautiful message but don’t expect to catch pastor lentz speaking. They tend to have associate pastors or guest speakers. It’s also mostly worship with about 30 min of the message. Fun time but won’t be my home church.
I had an awesome time in Gods presence. The worship is fantastic and the teaching completely reassures my faith in Jesus. You wont regret a visit, welcome home!Also there are different service times. Each service is 1hr 40mins.
One of my favorite churches in the world. You will feel exactly as you are coming Home as with any other Hillsong church. Multiple services on Sunday from morning to late evening, but none on Saturday if youre not available then. Location is central and not difficult to find. Hopefully well find a permanent location and have our own place to call home soon.
I attend in my country at a church. This was my first time in a Hillsong Church and it was awesome. The moment you get here the volunteers are the best and always smiling, I got the opportunity to be translated so if you speak Spanish and prefer listening in Spanish dont panic theyll translate to you. The atmosphere is unique and surely you will feel the presence of God.
Enjoyed myself immensely. People are friendly and message is understandable for present day life. Glad theres a few service times because it gets packed to capacity. Would like for them to be in more than one borough
My husband and I had the privilege of visiting this church several times this year due to my husband job with the Long Island Railroad. I am happy that throughout his contract we were able to make Hillsong our church home away from church home. Thank you for serving God faithfully!

This is an awesome place to go and worship, and to hear the word from some of the best preachers in the world. The music is incredible, speakers are incredible, and the community around Hillsong is incredible. The only issues are that parking is hard to find and once you get it it is very expensive, which is why I take the train. Also the sanctuary is very cramped so if you dont like tight areas I might rethink a visit to this church. Regardless I love this church, I try to go down every week and I live in Putnam County.
Great welcome and easy place to get to. Service was traditional hillsong, full of life, vitality and the Spirit of God. I was pleasantly surprised at the range of ages present, a real encouragement in this early service. A lot was crammed in to the service but it did not feel rushed and the team did well incorporating those who were regular and those visiting.
This church is where you want to be each week. I recommend strongly!
Excellent place of worship. Come any way you are He is Waiting. No matter what denomination you are EVERYONE can get an uplifting message to get you through whatever you are dealing with. You are greeted with smiles and welcome home by the friendly staff outside of Hammerstein Ballroom when you arrive. Flat screen televisions are placed throughout the balconies of whats going on center stage HOWEVER there is no bad seat during Hillsong , the message is thoroughly felt inside and out. No dress code is needed, HE is more interested in your heart and what healing it needs than what designers you are wearing. Come one come all, you will be moved by His presence and may even get emotional but that is cleansing and we all need it once and a while. Amen AAAAAAAAMEN I say .
It was my dream to attend hill songs church in NYC. I’m originally from queens but ended up in Florida. I’m apart of a great community at the church I attend in Tampa. I was going to be in NYC and although we were leaving Sunday I couldn’t go to sleep fast enough Saturday so I could be up early and head to the city. It was so important for me to go. Mannnnn! I was so happy once I walked in! The worship was out of this world. I cried so much. I felt so much love and more importantly God. The message hit me directly. Is it all well within your soul?Thank you for having me! Thank you to this church for that beautiful Sunday. Love the new album! I can’t wait to go back. I watch online now! Thank you!
Hillsong is that church that makes me feel like Im not at church but that I am at church because it feels like Im at a concert.Ever hear of Hillsong worship songs? They are beautiful and I recommend you to listen to the words and feel what happens when you hear them.Our Pastor Carl gets down on the mic and when he gets going on his preaching, I cant help but be touched by the holy spirit that flows through him.If youre looking for a home church that has no judgement , keeps it real, is so modern and in todays times and not Bsing anything with the word that delivers the knowledge for souls to be saved and lives to be changed.... welcome home, welcome to church!

Just an amaing uplifting experience every time I visit it. Every pastor brings a message thats spoken through them but inspired by the word of God fills the spirit of all. The music is beautiful. The presence of God and and the coverage of the Holy Spirit is present in this House of God. A faith and biblically based, Christian church where we praise and give all the Honor to Our Savior Jesus Christ.

Spectacular worship and amazing service! Everyone must attend at least once! The queue is long but they sort through pretty quick. The songs are as beautiful as the ones we listen to spotify or youtube! A great and fulfilling experience!
If you’re looking for a church to worship in New York then you’ve come to the right place. The people are so lovely, courteous and receptive. The first day I visited I felt like home because of the manner at which I was received; everyone is all smiles and there’s this aura of calmness and tranquility the day I stepped into this church. The worship songs are so ethereal and spirit elevating. I love coming here for the music and worship of God. Their worship is amazing, but this church is filled with too many people trying to be trendy and not enough true worshippers. I came to church today and there were kids playing music talking about drugs and alcohol inside the church! I was appalled. Ive met some nice volunteers and I volunteered for a day but the community is not here. They are nice on the surface cause thats their job that theyre doing. They make you come 90 minutes to the service to just stand around. They spoke to us and told the volunteers where to go which took maybe 10 minutes and then there was nothing else for us to do so we all stood around like we were in high school chatting. I stood around awkward cause I didnt know anyone and no one made me feel comfortable. I pictured volunteering to be way more warm and not just a hey welcome to church but actually trying to get to know each person. Knowing whos coming in broken and reaching that hand out, but I really dont see that here at this church. Some of the pastors do make me laugh and the worship is great. I wish they would get an old pastor one day though. Once I tried sitting on a floor seat once and a volunteer told me I couldnt sit that it was reserved with a nasty so I said okay so where can I sit? She said idk but this is reserved. Very rude. She could have pointed me in the right direction. This church needs some real fixing up.
Only had 30 minutes to spare before hopping on the bus back home, but stopped into this church for worship. It was uplifting, and everyone was so kind and welcoming. The music was amazing!
I am Italian, live in Italy, am a believer and decided to visit the Hillsong church during my visit to New York . Ive been there for the last Sunday service and felt so so happy in seeing thousands of boys and girls singing and praising God from the deep of their heart .. The Holy Spirit was powerfully acting there .. So amazing!!! Never saw something like that inside a Catholic Church in Italy .. Never saw such a a great number of young people so truly in love with Jesus Christ the Lord .. I Thank you God .. thank you so much for this miracle and pray it happens in Italy as well .. We do need an awakening of Your Holy Spirit in our Churches...🙏🙏🙏❤️

Good worship, mediocre teaching. Rude volunteers. I think the leaderships heart is in the right place but their methodology is off. After being humiliated in the lobby by a volunteer, NEVER helped to find a seat, only told where and when I couldnt sit (I asked where I could sit, they were already too busy texting, I was ignored) and being informed my wife and I werent a a family I continued to come. She couldnt take it anymore and after a couple of years neither could I.
Tonight, on 1/19/2020, in the freezing cold temperatures, my fiancé and I went to the Church for the first time to praise God. We listen to Pastor Michael Todd online every Sunday for Church and knew he’d be at Hillsong preaching. We drove from New Jersey to New York for the sermon and arrived at 5pm. When arriving, the gates were locked and they had left about 50 people lingering outside without explaining that the inside was maxed out (so I was told by other people waiting outside). We stood outside in the freezing cold New York air, and waited to get into Church to worship our Lord and Savior, Jesus. All my life I was told and read for myself that Jesus always spoke to crowds the size of the STATE of New York. To turn away believers is one thing, but to turn away people wanting to see what this Church is about for the first time is truly awful. I sincerely apologize to any and all people who are still in disbelief of Christ, because the way the Church handled this situation is not a reflection of who Jesus Christ was and is.

This church had an amazing service. I felt truly connected and I loved every second of it. The line outside can get quite long but its truly worth it. Bags get checked on entrance.
I love this church! I accepted Jesus in my life about 2 months ago. I just wanna say Hillsong NYC makes me feel right at home and I love coming here every week since I moved here a month ago this will be my place every Sunday

As a visiting member from the Jewish faith i really enjoyed the service. My girlfriend brought me and i loved the music and the sermon. Very well put together.
Well, its a demanding group of mainly good people with a huge effort to provide you the explanation of Bible as thoroughly as possible. The music is catchy. It can be a great help for people who wants to walk on the path of christianity.

Hillsong NYC is our home church when we come to visit. Jesus is alive and Gods message is translated into worship through music and Bible. Moving, spirit filling, life giving. We pray Hillsong continues to bring more people to a growing relationship with Jesus.
I was interested in Hillsong coming over from Australia and went to the 2pm service. Disappointing would be an understatement! After two half songs of worship, they then went to the message which was just a pre-recorded video of Pastor Carl Lentz from earlier (someone else couldnt of preached?). Then after the message another half a song of worship then we were shuffled out in just under an hour. If nothing else it was efficient, then got to look at some of the things they were selling which were quite overpriced. Didnt feel like I was going to a church, dont know what it was, shame because I know Hillsong NYC do great stuff. Highlight was the burger afterwards.

Great worship experience. If are from an at all conservation church come prepared to step out of your comfort zone. The Sunday I went DawnCheré Wilkerson was the guest speaker, and it was a great message. If you are coming from out of town. Leave your car at the hotel and take the subway or a Lyft. Parking in NYC is crazy.
If you could change the name to Hillsong Social Club NYC than I would give it 5 stars. Pastor Michael Todd was hilarious, but not biblical. Also, music was great but it was clearly a show not worship. No conviction.
One of the best local churches in New York if you are interested in the Lord Jesus Christ and if you want your heart to experience His presence.There were so many people waiting outside to get in! So be prepared to wait in line.This church is known for their worship so you might find it littlebit loud if you come from a more traditional church.The preaching of the Word, the offering, the testimonies and prayer were part of this service. If I visit NY I would attend one of their many services for sure.Highly recommend this church and many others in New York. But if you live in this city than obviosly you must seek God if He wants you to be a part of this church or some other church in your area!Have a blessed time as much as I did visiting Hillsongs in NY...
Update: Been attending for 2 years now. Hillsong is not a bad church, its just catered to a different demographic of people. Many leaders here seem to be born-again Christians who came from rough backgrounds (the streets etc) Hence they have great worship energy, they are not afraid to be expressive, unlike more serious/stoic congregations. Pastor Carl drives home solid teaching points condensed into very easy-to-remember quotes, i usually am able to digest the main essence of the sermon much more so that the 20+ years of attending 2hour long sermons at a bible-based church with more intellectual sermons. As i mentioned, this church speaks to a certain type of people. If youre looking to study and chew on the Word, join a bible study connect group instead of a social one.---------Original review: Great place to worship, it is always uplifting and i come out of the service feeling refreshed...but after attending for almost a year, i found their sermons lacking in depth. For new christians this church is a GREAT place to build new relationships and get acquainted with the basics of faith, but it may not be for people looking for a deeper understanding of the Word by just attending sermons alone. I understand that its catered to a more millennial audience...with funny jokes and anecdotes. Its true young people have shorter attention spans these days, and dry deliveries would only cause your audience to lose interest quickly. Its a tricky balance, hence the sermons are usually a hit or miss with different pastors. As someone who is in my late 20s, I feel like it is catered more to attendees ranging from high school to mid 20s.Ive observed that they dont place emphasis on discipleship (getting into a bible study groups more of an optional thing). Recently they do place emphasis on the importance of Community. Which is why you can find connect groups all over the city. I have however attended one bible study group session and it was quite amazing, a lot of smart thought-provoking questions asked by members really hungry to learn but i found it hard to develop lasting relationships because people come and leave the group. Honestly the only thing keeping me at Hillsong was the bible study group, which got closed recently :( This place is wonderful for worship, filled with truly passionate people, but as a Christian I wished this church could fulfill what it means to be fishers of men and help believers develop christlike characteristics. Nevertheless Hillsong is still a light of hope for NYC.
Objectively speaking. Lets set aside both the hype or criticism. Every chruch can only preach to limited type of audiences. Every church emphasizes different aspect of the church, the body of Christ. Every church has its strength and flaws. This church provides an atmosphere of worship and openness. The preaching is concise and tend to be less in depth.
Hillsong is not a church. It is a social club for self-centered, upper middle class young adults. Do not expect to hear a sermon here. I attended for months and I never felt a spiritual connection. The “pastors” give nearly identical motivational speeches every week where they drone on about how they would “like to encourage you.” Meanwhile, if you are ever struggling with a serious problem such as severe depression, you will be completely neglected and forgotten. Hillsong is a social club with hypocritical members who completely ignore those who are not in their cliques.
Love this church with all my heart. Been going for two years. Highly, highly recommend it to everyone. You really should look at the fruit of your life after going to Hillsong Church versus going to other churches, such as Redeemer.
Welcoming atmosphere and good worship music - thats about all I would say is positive about this organization. Shallow teaching with with a focus on prosperity gospel - giving to receive, praying things into existence, using Jesus as your personal genie to make your wishes come true. Carl Lentz spoke when I visited and he is very good in giving an inspirational speech and making you feel good, but never once did we open the bible to learn from the word of God. He threw around some scripture, some anecdotal stories, and enough mentions of Jesus to be considered church. No focus on our depravity, our need for a savior and what the fruit of a true Christian life looks like. No mention of the bible and how to apply its teaching in our lives. All their marketing - from their offering collection envelopes, their welcome cards, the bibles for sale, and their info booths after service are all consumer focused and geared toward taking your money. In summary, a very dangerous place to be for a new believer or someone seeking to know God more deeply. Its a deception that will leave you on the broad road to destruction.
Amazing. God filled atmosphere with the most biblical belief in come as you are. Anyone whose been away from God because of shame, fear, unknowns, come to Hillsong and youll find not only a church but a home.
I cried all service, the music is BEAUTIFUL! it feel like a real concert, its funny because the last time I was at Hammerstein ballroom was to see a Korn and limp Bizkit concert, needless to say that was YEARS ago and I found God now. The pastor was SO RELATABLE. he admitted to being a meek mill fan which made me fall more in love with him. Oh yeah I forgot to mention there was a mosh pit!!! I LOVE THIS CHURCH and will definitely be going back!! FYI come like an hour early to avoid lines and to get a good seat, you can eat and relax before the show...yeah I said show because the music like I said is like a concert! This is perfect for someone who wants a good church but still wants to have fun. New Christians are SO WELCOME! Love it here!!!!!

Nice sermons but the praise songs put me to sleep vs feeling like I am praising our Lord, bummer as this was Hillsong after all! More like a concert than worship.
This man Carl lentz teaches a false gospel, this is easily detectable through cross reference in scripture & the doctrines coming out of this church. My message to him would be, repent and turn away from the desires of your flesh, of money and of fame... For it would be better for you to hang a millstone around your neck & drown in a lake than to be a stumbling block for the children of God. Revelation clearly says nothing shall be added to or taken away from the word, and great penalties will come to him who does so. Satan is the puppet master controlling this church and others like this, the Bible says the devil will come as an angel of light, deceiving many..Gods grace be with the people being led astray.
Anyone can sit down in a church and listen to a sermon. If you prefer a radical experience that reaches into your soul and wakes you up, a passage from the Bible that will make you reexamine your role as a believer under a house that receives all, this is something you will want to attend.

Its like a concert but even better because of the inspiring uplifting life transform word of God shared hear. Perhaps thats why here music doesnt just sound good but really speaks to your spirit to move and improve.

Its like a dream come true, from watching them on tv to feel the presence of God live in their services.. cause of live isssues, now Im not a fully committed christian still everytime i go i feel more and more attracted to step into a higher level in my relationship with Jesus just because of the passion and grace that resides on this church!!!
Where in the world has the idea of wild rock ‘n’ roll , amalgamated with Jesus/church ? In the Bible you will find he speaks in a still small voice.I Do not believe that entertainment is the actual fulfillment that Jesus has to offer.
Love this place, mostly because of the worship. But it always speaks to me on a deeper level it feels awesome to leave refreshed ready to take on the week.
First time went Went with my friend on last Easter day. To pray for victims of Sri Lanka bombing. Like the energy within it. Like to go there and participate the prayers when I can. Eventhough I am a Buddhist.
Everyone is always welcome here. Doesnt matter how you dress,what youve done,where youve been. Its a place to unite in worship and be uplifting and belong!
Was great. Just didnt like the fact that my husband is law enforcement and they didnt accumulate him. You never know when you need them. But was very nice esp to see all the young people.
Attended my first service last week, it was life-changing and I hope to go back every week. Not everyone is in a dire situation. Im doing great in all areas of my life, but something was missing. I found it here, thank you!

We went to a church for a few mounts but when he found out we were lesbians that is all he talked about we know its not right but no one knows what happen in our lifes to juge us only God is my juge . so sorry to say we never wet back to that church we have not been in church in two years. Smack in the middle of NYC. There’s a kids section and You get a free bible when you’re a first time visitor. Go early as there’s usually a crowd and seats fill up quickly and the ushers are missing in action.

Every time I attended Hillsong, I felt like I was attending a concert. The blaring lights and music became an annoyance after a while.

To start with THE CHURCH STAFF DELETING THE BAD REVIEWS SO THEY CAN LOOK like the perfect place, it says something about this place. They ALSO Blocking those who gave them bad reviewers SO NO ONE SEE THEM.
Love the community and energy of this church. The faith is very passionate and devoted to christ. Us out-of-staters loved this church

2022-05-11This place is not a church. Its a complete fraud, run by wolves posing as godly men. You will not meet or feel Gods presence here. What you will get is brights lights, silver tongue devils giving you a candy gospel that will tickle your ears but will not challenge or promote spiritual growth. They are only interested in building their own kingdoms while promoting themselves as holy men. Celebrities regardless of sinful lifestyles are given the VIP treatment and used to promote the business. They will take your money, sell you books and cds but will never acknowledge your presence. Stay away if you are truly seeking Christ. Run away from this place. It will destroy your faith and your trust in God

2019-12-24Worship was great. Felt Gods presence. Service was orderly. Lots of space to sit but you must get there early. Enjoyed the snack I got at the entrance. Felt so at home I did 2 services in one day. Definitely worth the visit.

2019-05-19INCREDIBLE experience. They have a friendly and present welcome team. If youre a first time visitor get there at least 10 minutes early since they have a security check and line before service. Also, if you get there right on time you might have to climb stairs to get to your seat. Phenomenal worship and a service thats around 75 minutes.

2020-02-19If you have never stepped foot into a church, disliked the church, or have been distant from church, please give Hillsong a chance to change your mind. The worship is second to none and the band does a phenomenal job setting the tone and atmosphere for the service. All of the staff are extremely joyful and helpful. The messages preached here are very practical and applicable to your everyday, modern life. I recommend arriving at least 30mins early because the lines can be long, but theres plenty of seats.

2019-06-05I loved worshipping with this church. I saw young men and women excited to meet the Lord through worship.I love that the staff and leadership are willing to think outside the box. I wish I could stay around a little longer to meet more of the people.Dont be shy. God can meet you here.

2018-12-31We had a great service at Hillsong church. We had to wait a while but it was all worth it. Ofcourse you’ll hear the known Hillsong songs. When you’re in New York City, you have to visit this church! I highly recommend it. By the way, you have to go upstairs to where the service is, but there is a elevator!
