Ive been to hilltop multiple times and can say it is great. Joe is a great guy with a lot of knowledge about hunting.

Going out of business. Went in for bullets. Bought some 22. magnum shells for 17.95 out of state they had the same ones at hill top I was looking for only they were over $30.00. SO NO DEAL THERE. So for that reason of marking up the shells I give them a 1 star.

2022-05-26Hilltop is an hour drive for me. 3 out of 4 of the last times they had been closed during their open hours. Just a note on the door that they werent working.... Mid day... Mid week...I definitely miss Joe.

2021-06-12Excellent selection, prompt service, great hours...and the only place that has ammo right now..and LOTS of it! Not the same without Joe, but the service is just as friendly and helpful. Glad to see Hilltop up and running.

2017-10-13First time at Hilltop and Joe and Dave treated me like I had been there 50 times before. They were very busy but took care of everyone. Bought a rifle with scope, done in 1/2 hour. Oh, bought a copy of Joes book, a fun read. I think the guys at our hunting camp can add a few stories to it which I will share with Joe later. By the way, I dont think there is any ammo he doesnt stock. Good Place , Roger

2017-08-29I went in with money burning a hole though my pocket looking to walk out with a new gun. After talking to him for a few minutes he talked me out of getting a gun and saved me over $700. He could have easily ordered me one and took my money but he really does give you his honest opinion on everything. Ill definitely be going back for all of my other gear.

2020-05-10Visited Joe at Hilltop a few times recently in preparation for turkey season. Despite these crazy covid-19 circumstances, Joe was able to do some much needed last minute gunsmithing for me. He did a nice job installing swivel studs on my shotgun, and he was so fast Id never consider doing it myself again. More importantly, he gave my youth model 20 gauge Rem 870 new life in just a few minutes with a bit of trigger work. At 11 lbs, the initial pull weight made it nearly impossible to zero my reflex sight. After Joe was finished with it, the trigger was as good as a Rem 870 could ever be. Repeatable point of impact out to 50 yards with high end turkey loads and good tight chokes required very little effort. The little bit of money you spend on a trigger job is the best money youll ever spend on your firearm. Joes gunsmithing and ammo prices are very reasonable, and once again he is extremely fast.
