I never leave a bad review for Hilton before because I am always satisfied from their services but after staying in this hotel I will give them a poor review. The room was clean but the chair in the table was dusty. There was no bathroom floor towel and there was no stick to stir a coffee and no microwave. You need to go the front desk to use the microwave. I don’t know in other rooms but in our room was no microwave. In our room there was a noise, I don’t know where it is coming from but it’s like clicking-clicking sound. The towel was stained and no USB outlet. The hotel is dated but it’s fine for me, cleanliness matters a lot. The bathroom is small, you need to close the bathroom door first so that you can seat on the toilet.
Extremely rude front desk staff, kicked out of the lobby for ordering pizza because everything closes at 5:30PM, drinks are way overpriced at bar in lobby ($15 for a single drink, and same for 2 beers). Especially check in staff were rude when they tried to check in early, plus were unassure who it was under since it was set up by work.Bad part of town as well.Extremely rude, you need to fire several of the staff members that were on this week, because they have provided terrible service. Your going to be seeing several bad reviews from this week.
Very easy to access from the highways with excellent parking garage option. If u purchase the parking ($20), you are able to come and go as u please from the parking garage using your key room tag. Rooms were clean and comfortable minus one problem. The rooms were nice and balmy at 76 degrees. After turning the heat off (AC not wrkg), the room never dropped below 71 degrees which for my comfort a little toasty. Disappointed too that the pool wasnt available at the time we visited. If you are looking for a clean comfortable place to be with easy parking and within walking distance to some decent restaurants, this is a good choice.
Was a little disappointed, The room has water damage all over the ceiling. The bathroom vanity was broken. Carpet in the hallway was damaged, the stairway smelt of vomit. $50 to park for two nights. The very low quality continental breakfast was over $50 for two people. This hotel is within walking distance of the NYS capital building and a few other attractions/bars and restaurants.I likely would not stay here again.
Didnt stay but had the most difficult time changing reservations. When they changed our reservation they increased the rate by $50 with no reason as to why. Finally when I spoke to someone in Albany they advised they would call me back but of course they never did. There is no way to leave a voicemail for management and you just keep getting re-routed to the front desk - wouldnt recommend
False Advertising Paid Extra for Room with access to Executive Suite; only thing is it DOES NOT EXIST. As someone who came to Albany for business I had imagined coming back to Hotel after hours to complete work in there Executive Suite; Instead renting a boardroom at the Renaissance & will never be staying at this hotel again.Couldn’t even ACCOMMODATE me with an office/ conference room to satisfy.
Positive: The hotel is in an excellent location central to everything in downtown Albany. Negative: The room was extremely outdated and old and did not match the star level or what I paid. The bathtub in the room was chipped and had deteriorating caulking. The carpeting in the room was dingy and stained. Overall we were extremely disappointed.
I have to preface this by saying EVERYONE there was excellent and highly professional. Very welcoming all around. The hotel itself, however, was much less clean than I felt comfortable with. The bar top was smelly and slimy, elevators smelled and were slimy to the touch. Floor 3 was exceptionally filthy. Breakfast was delicious but again… everything was slimy.Booked my stay 3 months in advance. When I got there they had no king size bed rooms available. How can you even do that? They said they would put me in a handicapped room which was fine at first until I realized I had to climb onto the toilet just to pee. Whatever, but still… Naturally (my luck) there was a wedding happening the weekend I arrived and it would seem that out of the 15 floors I was on the floor with what might have been wedding party. Definitely a party going on in the suite.Other than that the stay was nice and the beds were very comfy with darkening curtains.
Unfortunately this hotel is in need of renovations. The rooms are comfortable, and recently refurbished, however the climate control isn’t functional. I am staying here in December, and the rooms are very warmAnd uncomfortable despite my efforts to cool it off. Please repair your room hvac systems.
Absolutely the worst hotel stay Ive ever had. Definitely the worst Hilton. Ive had better experiences at cheap motels. Other than the friendly staff, theres nothing good to say about this place. Im a Hilton honors member so I try to stay at Hiltons whenever possible. This place was a huge disappointment.* After lugging our stuff up to the 12th floor, the digital key that was delivered to my smart phone did not work. It took two separate trips to the front desk to get card keys programmed correctly. The digital key never worked the entire stay.* Room temperature was a sweltering 76 degrees on balmy winter day. No AC as its turned off for the winter. Guest services sent up a guy to open the window and provide a box fan. Now I have a noisy fan and outside noise to keep me up at night.* Every guest that was part of our group had the same issues with card keys. All went to their rooms for the first time only to find that the cards did not work. They had to return to the front desk to have their cards re-programed.* Bathrooms are tiny. So is the bath tub. Shower head is very low. Anyone over 6ft will have to duck in order wash above the chest. Water pressure was almost non existent. Drain was useless. After just a few minutes in the shower youre standing ankle deep in dirty water.* We stocked the fridge with several water bottles and by the second night they were all frozen solid. I guess the upside is that we had weapons in case someone tried to enter our room, assuming they had card keys that actually worked...* 2nd morning there, I go to the lobby in search of a self-serve coffee station like I find at every hotel and motel in the world. No coffee station. I go to the restaurant and ask the staff person there if I can get a cup of coffee. He says sure and goes off somewhere and comes back with a coffee, and proceeds to charge me $2.90!* In the middle of the 3rd day of our stay, the card keys stopped working AGAIN. Had to go to the front desk to have them re-programmed for a third time in 3 days. I asked why the constant problems with the card keys and they give me some lame excuse about the system having to deal with the change over to the new year, even though the new year had not arrived yet. Go figure.* Finally get to the end of our stay. Getting ready to check out on 1/1. Go to the parking garage, get in my car and head for the exit. Swipe my room key to open the gate (which was working throughout our stay) and... nothing. Gate wont open. I call the front desk and complain, they say they will open it from the desk and then they hang up. Took two more calls and a bit of stern language over the next several minutes to convince them that the damn gate was not opening. They finally send out an engineer to assist. He wants my card key so he can try it. I tell him it aint gonna work but he insists. No surprise, it didnt work. He suggests that maybe my card was deactivated. Great work Einstein. Malfunctioning card keys seem to be a pattern with this place. After he spends a few minutes fiddling with the gate, it finally opens. Free at last. I wont be back.
First , every staff member we encountered were super nice . However, the hotel is horrible. The room was set to 78 degree and air-conditioning was turned off for the season. The windows only opened about 2 inches , so the room was hot the entire weekend. The elevator scene was another nightmare. They were 4 elevators but it was so slow. The walls and ceilings painting were peeling off. We asked for adjoining room and was confirmed but on the day our request was not honored. We were part of the wedding party and bride requested a suite but the room was so small. The bed was not properly made and had some blood stains. The fridge was not properly cleaned , this not sanitized. The showers are not suitable for tall people .
The room was fantastic. Most of the people that worked were very kind. Price for breakfast w/out silver or gold was outrageous. I did feel uncomfortable when I heard the prices & had to decline. My husband & I dont travel unless its a family matter. Unfortunately. My daughter pays for us to have phones. My husband pride gets in the way. She also said the hotel was a certain price bur when we came of course it wasnt what she said. I did charge it on our credid card which again will take awhile to pay off. We r disabled & my husband pride gets in the way. Theres 1 more thing, can u have someone there that can help people like us (if needed) to set up for discounts on our phones. Thank you for listening & God bless
Upon checking in they watch us stand out by the door for ever rang dell, lady was un decorating tree in lobby wouldnt let us in . finally got in they switched our room to a handicap room bc she seen my client in a wheelchair without asking then said to wait a sec because room was blocked off with a maintenance ticket another lady dressed in dress clothing went up to check the room 709 she came back said it was cold in the room but ok she turned heat on. We went to room waited and hour still cold in room called down they sent up maintenance who put in new filter etc said to wait waited two hours still chilly called down she wanted to move us to another room Mind u I have my client who is in a wheel chair in bed settled and asleep. So she sent up blankets that took 30 mins to get to us. It is now 945pm and still freezing in here 4 hours after checking in .. ADVICE DO NOT STAY HERE THE HEAT DOESNT WORK!!!!!!!!
The staff were great, the building was not. Elevators were too few and too slow. The bathrooms were small, the shower is even smaller. Im 64and my head was two inches from the ceiling in the shower. This meant the shower head was at my chin and the water sprayed on my chest. We entered the room and it was set to 78 degrees, the a/c was turned off for the season and the window only opened two inches.
1.I checked in room 1010 on Dec. 6. I read on the mirror in the washroom, that I will need to request housekeeping if I need it. I did not request it, but the next day I realized that the room was cleaned (Dec. 7). All OK, but ... my bottle of drinking water disappeared (taken away). I went to Reception on and got another bottle (but it was an inconvenient issue).1.The room 1010 was very cold. The heating did not work. I called reception in the evening of Dec. 7 and a technician came over and only replaced a filter (this does not really help turning on the heat !). He said that I should see if heating would be OK in an hour. There was zero improvement in an hour. I called reception and asked for the technician to return. He never came back. I went to reception and was offered another room, but smaller. No offer for the technicians return was made. At the end I moved to 1001 on Dec. 8. It was inconvenient to move all my staff.2.On the evening of Dec. 8, while still in 1010, I realized that after my room was cleaned that day, one small bottle of eye medication (I must use every evening) that was on my night cabinet when I left the room in the morning ... disappeared. I looked for it everywhere, checked all garbage bins, moved the bed to check under it, pull the night table to see if it is not behind, pulled the night tables drawer to see if the bottle was not dropped inside through the hole in the top (why is that hole there? why not covered ?) but my eye drops were nowhere. I was desperate. Then I looked again at the night tables drawer and realized that it is shorter, and stops before the hole on the table top. I pulled the drawer out completely and ... happily found my bottle in the space behind the drawer. Probably the cleaning personnel dropped it there without realizing, but .... why is the hole not covered ??. There are standard plastic covers for such holes.3.When on Dec. 8 I moved to 1001 I saw the floor lamp (located near the window) precariously tilted and rested on the leather sofa / chair. I tried to straighten it up but was wobbling in all directions. Looked bad for a Hilton hotel. I have a picture, if needed.4.While in 1001 I needed to call a colleague in another room. I picked up the phone. No tone for a long time, then I got the tone. When my colleague answered I could barely hear him, like he was 1 mile away (very, very low volume). I tried to move the volume up, without any improvement.5.No drinks / water or any snacks in the fridge.6.On Dec. 8 we all wanted to have a drink at the bar at 11:10 PM, but it was closed at 11PM, we were told. Returning to my room I checked the Hotels booklet to see if I remember well that the bar was supposed to be open until 12AM. Yes, the booklet indicated that the bar should have been open until ... 12 AM.Sorry, but this is not the Hilton I know.
I am a stickler for cleanliness, and I was very disappointed with my stay. Upon entering the room it had a stale smell mixed with cigarettes. the shower curtain had strong odor of mildew, my AC was set at 50 yet the room temp stayed at a cool 83! , Stains on the walls, dusty curtains I could go on and on... I was willing to overlook the desperate need for new furniture and new carpeting but, the lack of what I would consider standard cleaning makes this my first and last stay.
*The temperature controls seemed to be for show only. The rooms were all very hot and the controls for the a/c didnt seem to do anything. Every single person we spoke to in our large group complained of the same thing.*The pillows and beds were very uncomfortable. Laying with all 4 pillows stacked on top of each other still made it feel like you were laying flat on the ground*Windows opened all the way without any screens - extremely unsafe*Peeling wallpaper and paint everywhere*Horrible water pressure, and the water in the shower never got hot - waited close to 20 minutes and still lukewarm. It was very difficult to wash soap off my body and out of my hair with cold water and poor water pressure*Our room happened to have a door the neighboring room. We did not request this and did not know the people next door. The conjoining room door had a gap at the bottom and I could hear everything they were saying and it felt very unsafe*There was a loud alarm in the hall caused by a glitch at 7 am Sunday, after being awake until 4 am the night before due to the neighboring room talking loudly, even after complaining to the front desk*I was charged for parking when it was free due to wedding. When I called to have it credited back, I was given the runaround every time 1st call they said I had to call back 2 pm and ask for the manager. I called back after 2 and was told that the 2 pm manager didnt come in today, so I will have to call back at 8pm. I called again at 8pm. First, the guy said that managers are only there in the mornings. When I told him that I called twice earlier and was told the 2pm didnt show and I had to call at 8 for the manager, he changed his mind and said that oh yes, there is a manager tonight, but they are running late, and arent here. And no, no one else can or will speak to me I left my name and number and did not receive a call back. I finally spoke to someone the next day and they said it would be credited, but then sent me a new receipt with the charge still there, just with a different date.Do not bother staying here, it will be a miserable experience the entire time.
The rooms are clean and the 2 staff taking care of the rooms were genuine and sweet. The bar and eating area are well appointed and the food is quality.Unfortunately, the front desk staff leaves A LOT to be desired. Wearing their masks under their chin at this point in COVID is unprofessional. In addition, very unfriendly and seemed bothered that we had questions about the hotel and its amenities. The bathrooms have NO FAN?! The shower pressure on the 8th floor was abysmal. Our room cards needed to be reset twice in order to escape the parking garage multiple times.Ive been to plenty of hotels in my travels, this one was underwhelming.
I stayed at the Hilton 2 weekends ago for 4 nights as I was getting married across the street. I had over 20 rooms booked for guests and we rented out the hospitality suite on the 14th floor. Upon entering our room (on the 14th floor connected to the hospitality suite) FOR OUR WEDDING WEEKEND it was 78 degrees, and the floors were sticky. We asked for the engineer to come up and look at the AC who was extremely nice but was only able to change the filter which he said was gross and that a lot of the rooms needed the entire AC units upgraded. We had to buy a fan and then also ask all of our guests to bring fans as well. Absolutely not acceptable in 2021 that the AC does not work. My now husband and I did not change rooms solely because we needed the adjoining room to the hospitality suite for the morning of the wedding. Some of our guests had to change rooms because of smells, some of them got double rooms when they booked a single king, and we got mixed reviews that some rooms were hot and others were not...it seemed to be totally random whether AC units were working (and we had guests on all different floors, 4, 5, 11, 12, 14 etc). The hospitality room had slightly better AC although it never got down as low as it was set to either.Supposedly the morning after our first night in the room they were sending the engineer back over to look at our room but as far as we know... nothing ever was changed and we were never communicated with again. As a bride who runs warm the lack of AC was 100% a factor in my stress and inability to cool down and relax on my wedding weekend. I had to put towels in the fridge just to wrap around my neck after we got back from the wedding.Additionally, if you are a bride and wanting to hand out guest welcome boxes please note youll be charged $3/box just to have the front desk hand them out during check in. We were aware of this beforehand but I thought that was such a ridiculous charge to literally hand over a box.Overall I was disappointed that we put a lot of money into staying at the Hilton and our stay was absolutely below average.
The staff were amazing. Everyone was friendly, pleasant and extremely helpful. This is true of the bellman, housekeeping, food service staff, everyone we came in contact with. Great location, access to lots of POIs. That is the reason for the 3 stars. The room itself was horrible. Very small, extremely warm (A/C barely worked) and mini fridge did not work. The food and beverage a prices were extreme, even by hotel standards.Overall, would probably stay somewhere else next time.
I dont recall a worse hotel stay in recent memory. Apparently, they turn the AC off in the rooms for winter so your only option is heat. With the unit turned off the temperature in the room never got below 74°. Not what I consider a good sleeping temperature...Side note: not a single USB port in the entire room
Room was quite dingy, unpainted patch in drywall, bathroom ceiling flaking off and AC was not cooling room properly. No fan in bathroom. Carpet seemed worn. Bathroom supplies were inefficient. No lotion or regular soap, shortage of towels. Called for more towels and none received. Fridge was tiny couldnt fit leftover box in it. For the price we paid this hotel was not up to that standard. Staff was fine. We also did not call, except for towels to report any other problems. The hotel was very busy seemed to possibly be short staffed.
What can I say good? The wait person at the bar was great. Beyond that, parking cost money and path to hotel was through urine soaked stairs around the city block because the way was not well marked. No USB ports in the room unlike pretty much any where else. Handles fell off faucets in the bathroom sink. Fruit flies. Couldnt open the window even a few inches to get any airflow. The front desk was not helpful at all.
So disappointed. Used extra points to get Executive Floor and perks. however, upon arrival was told that the executive room was closed. nothing noted on sire prior to reservation. First room I was in had paint peeling on walls as well as dirty carpet and windows. I asked for another room as the AC was not working. Apparently it was the entire building. Four different rooms later and a fan, I was bale to unpack. Room was dusty from not being used. Furniture was antiquated with lots of wear and tear. Carpet was old, won and stained. Worst night sleep ever and had a meeting in the morning. My hard earned points were totally wasted. The ONLY positive was the front staff and MOD really tried to do their best. however, there was no one at the front desk to discuss anything with when I left in the morning. SO DISAPPOINTED!
Very disappointing, not what I expect from a Hilton property, even in this COVID era. Staff were nice enough, although I was surprised to see the gentleman checking me in dressed very casually, even a tad slovenly. Usually these hotels and their competition have some kind of uniform or at least a dress code. And there didnt seem to be any requirement for staff to be masked, even with current conditions. The lobby gave a good first impression but the room was substandard, although I will give credit for a very comfortable bed and pillows. The bathroom is quite small with the old style tub/shower combo. There was only 1 bath towel, no extra rolls of toilet paper, and the hairblower didnt have much blow. There was no microwave, and the little fridge actually froze what I put in there! The air conditioning did not work very well, it ran constantly and couldnt get the temperature to move more than 1 degree, and I set it much lower than what it was showing. I had someone from engineering look at it, but he didnt accomplish anything. The carpet had lots of spots and was in need of a deep cleaning or replacement; one of the bureau drawers wouldnt stay closed.I called the front desk twice, and no one ever answered, even though I let it ring for a very long time. The food service is also very limited, although some of that is probably due to COVID. It was late and I was hungry, but the restaurant closed early and there was only a very limited menu available at the bar, everything else was closed. I was also very surprised that there is no free breakfast. The parking is extra and the garage is kind of sketchy. And then the elevator in the garage broke, leaving no choice but to climb several stairs with bum knees.Hilton needs to really do something to bring this hotel up to its standards.
Pool was cold and not particularly inviting. Parking garage was rather disgusting (urine smell in stairwells). Also, questionably safe. Rooms were nice, but tiny bath and shower. Nice view of the capital building and architecture. Staff was nice enough. Overall feel of the stay was drab….parking situation needs immediate attention.
I have never been more disappointed in a Hilton stay than now.I am a rewards member and have stayed at many of Hiltons hotels.I must say that for the most expensive, and supposedly exceptional location, it was anything but!Upon check-in we were not told about the $20 parking fee up and beyond the already overpriced room.We walked into the room and immediately noticed the half hanging off door of the refrigerator cupboard!I was sure to immediately take a picture and go to the front desk to show the gentleman who checked me in so I wasnt charged for for it.The room was clean, but very underwhelming.I will say they validated my parking and offered a $24 credit for breakfast, instead of giving me my rewards.I will definitely be wary to useHilton again.
Positive: The location and view is nice. The room took a while to get cool after the a/c was turned on. The pool was finally open again . The first key the receptionist gave me didn¿t work so I had to go all the way back downstairs all cool though it was fixed a Negative: Housekeeping didn¿t respect my dnd sign.
Check in was easy ( though I was there as part of the NYSSMA organization) so the room had been paid for. My room was comfortable and clean . The banquet room we worked in was comfortable and well equipped. The restaurant had a limited menu but food and service were both good.
Stayed at many Hiltons and they are always 5 Star (sometimes 6 Stars!). This one is as good as the others in many ways. So why only 3 stars? When we checked in at 2pm we requested a late check out. We were told to come back in the evening to see if they could accommodate us. Came back at 6:30pm and a different desk clerk said they could not do late check out requests until the morning. Went back the next morning and another front desk worker said that they had did all the late check out requests the day before in the afternoon. Bottom line was we felt that the staff didnt really care about our request and was deferring the problem to someone else. Not what I expect from a Hilton.
The Hilton Albany is not as glamorous as it appears in pictures. When you first enter, the lobby looks great and gives the appearance that this hotel is upscale, but it is not.Rooms: The rooms smell musty. The rooms smell like there is a lot of mildew harboring in the bathroom and vents. The carpets smell old and look like they need a deep cleaning. The rooms need to be renovated. The ceilings has not been repainted in decades. I know this because they are popcorn ceilings, which was used many, many years ago. The mini-fridge does not work and had thick ice blocks preventing cooling. There wasnt an abundance of toiletries given. The rooms have NO microwaves. When I asked for a microwave, the attendant said he would try to bring one upstairs but never did.Hallway: The hallways also smelled like mildew. There was someone who was smoking weed and cigarettes the entire weekend. We smelled these fumes from Friday to Sunday and it was so bad that both my family member and room service attendant were coughing in the hallway.Amenities: The pool was not bad but the hot tub was not open. The hotel advertised a hot tub or spa but did not indicate that they would be under constriction. We were looking forward to using the hot tub and were disappointed when it was unavailable.Parking: The parking is $20 per day. The parkimg garage is not very safe since its open to the public. Be careful when entering or leaving your car at night.Food: There is no continential breakfast. Breakfast is $18 per person. Breakfast does appear to be good quality, cooked meals but its a bit pricey.
Restaurant was closed. Eating dinner at the hotel meant eating in the bar. Full price, limited selection, mediocre food. Terrible waitress - lousy customer service. Few restaurants in the locale for dinner as most eateries serve office workers and close before 3 pm. Room service? No idea.First room we were given had past water damage (apparently from room above as it was not top floor), with peeling paint and closet doors so swollen they wouldnt open. Asked to be moved to another room. Begrudgingly, they moved us, but not without some insistence on our part - lousy customer service.Told there was no housekeeping without specific requests. Found there were two bathtowels, one handtowel, no washcloths in the room - for two people for four nights. Two single-serving coffee pods - for two people for four nights. Clean cups? Hah. We went and fetched stuff for ourselves, and were charged $3 / bottle for water. Lesson learned.Breakfast was included for three mornings because we were booked with a group. The fourth morning, on our own, we skipped the Hilton breakfast buffet, as nothing spectacular for TWENTY-FOUR DOLLARS a pop. We found a cafe down the road.Room was outdated and showing wear, outlets were inadequate. One easy chair, no table / chairs to eat at - inadequate furnishings. An end table next to the chair wouldve been nice.Toilet barely flushed. No idea how to work the tub controls to take a bath; passive vent had no fan and condensation soaked everything whenever we showered.Parking was expensive and the garage isnt safe as it is open to the public. Exiting was a joke as the system to open the gate wasnt clear and didnt work well.Pluses: room was relatively clean. Television worked. Beds were comfortable. For $170 / night and the Hilton reputation I expected more, a lot more.As a Hilton Honors member (20+ years) I expected pleasant helpfulness and a cheerful demeanor from the front desk. It was the exact opposite.Value for money: very poor. There are at least two other chain hotels in downtown Albany; choose one of those.I do not recommend the Albany Hilton at all.(Not all staff were rude. A shuttle driver, Brian, was great. The buffet server, Kayla, was top-notch. The arrogant front desk staff needs extensive training, starting with Courtesy and customer satisfaction are paramount.)
Booked a king size bed room for my girlfriend and Is anniversary. Arrived at the hotel and immediately spoke to a receptionist who was clearly not happy that she was having to work on a Saturday. She tells us that there are no more king rooms available even though we booked a king room, so well be given a room with two full beds because its the same price. We walk up the stairs to our rooms and the the steps are sticky and covered in spilled red bull, the cans still sitting on the steps. We look at the room and decide not to stay and take the elevator down. Elevator smelled strongly of weed. Didnt realize I had just paid 200 dollars to stay in a college dorm. No refund was offered. Wouldnt recommend.
Positive: The room was clean. Negative: The front desk staff was very disorganized and slow upon arrival. The parking lot was filthy. The elevator area smelled of urine and vomit. Non hotel guests were hanging out in the entrance smoking marihuana. Going to our car felt uncomfortable.
The location is all this property has going for it. Not as clean as you’d expect. It’s rougher around the edges than the brand would lead you to expect. Deferred maintenance in the rooms and public spaces. Understaffed. Hot tub is still broken. The advertised hotel airport shuttle is unavailable “because of COVID.” If you enjoy Hilton prices and a less than Hilton standard, then this is the hotel for you.I’m being generous with third star “because of COVID.”See what I did there?I can only speculate that the agreement to manage this hotel is expiring sooner than later and that Hilton is unwilling or unable to prioritize this hotel without a new agreement in place. Whatever the reason, this location diminishes the brand in my opinion. If you’re going to get a budget experience you may as well stay at a budget brand.
Booked our stay through Expedia, paid for a room with a King sized bed. My partner and I were celebrating our anniversary. Upon arrival we were checked in a told we wouldn’t be getting a king but instead room with 2 full sized beds. My partner is 6’4, we would not have even been able to sleep in the same bed. The woman did not even bother to apologize for the change. We went up to the room in an elevator that smelled strongly of weed, took the stairs back down and there was Red Bull spilled all over the ground, so much so shoes were sticking to the floor. Checked out after two hours. Staff was rude, we didn’t get what we’d paid for, and the hotel was clearly a “party stop” - wouldn’t recommend staying here. Waste of 200 dollars.
Not sure why there is not a great choice of hotels in Albany but this place was clean, smack bang central and has the friendliest staff. Bed and bedding were luxurious and slept great/ It was super reasonable too. We stayed on the executive floor and the views were awesome.
Definitely not one of Hiltons better hotels. Bathroom had damage. Room had a musty smell. Restaurant service was slow. Hallway had same dirt for days. There was a pool tournament going on. Glad Hilton took care of them with 5 wings for $10, 1 hot dog for $5, 1 can of domestic beer for $7.
Positive: the location is fantastic. open your window and see the beautify city. walking distance to the capital building. safe too! Negative: one of the receptionists is talking with her friend at the same time serving us, it slows down the whole process, while so many people waiting .. it takes us almost 15 mins to check-in while the other receptionists already did two rounds of cutomers.
The lady that checked us in was NOT very happy to see us and did not smile the whole time during the check-in process. Would expect more after driving 5.5hours to get there. Room had urine in the toilet amd hair in the tub. Ac did not work. Called maintenance and the person they sent did not wear a mask. He coughed into the intake of the ac unit several times. He took the cover off amd said he removed an obstruction, but, we did not see him remove anything. Ultimately had to hVe my room changed to one with working ac.Coffee is generally complimentary, however, i was chaged $5+ for 2 cups of bad coffee from the restaurant. Usually when i stay with hilton, it is complimentary.Manager was very helpful getting us to a new room.
The only good thing about this hotel is the location. It claims a 5 stars hotel, but I wont give it more than 3! They never change the carpet for years. One restaurant and it only open 4-9pm. We walked to the room at 3pm, and the AC wasnt working in August! Homeless people hang around the main door! Sorry Hilton, you should not put your name on a hotel like that.
Rooms are grossly misrepresented on the Hilton.com website. Suites are tired and worn and sparsely decorated. The area around the hotel is a bit scary after dark and there is no security cameras in the garage, the garage lobby, parking elevator Its our first really extremely disappointing stay at the Hilton Hotels, but it was bad enough that I will check more thoroughly before booking another room at the chain.
I get migraines whenever there isnt flowing air or fresh air. I also live with my thermostat set at 75°. Neither of these things were possible and I woke up each day with a headache. Due to some global thermostat setting within this hotel, it was impossible to get my room beyond 69° This made my stay uncomfortable. I couldnt crack the window open for fresh air so that just compounded everything. I understand my issues might be unique. Other than those two issues with air, the room was clean and beds comfortable.
Positive: Microwave was brought to the room. Negative: Bathroom door in the room was jammed and my child got locked in for about 20 minutes. Elevators were not cleaned and had a smell. No valet parking and was an additional $20 to park in the parking garage. Hot tub was not available. Covid testing for public
Very dirty rooms, peeling paint on ceiling, and no heat. We stayed with our sons and the little one got cold as the there was no heat. The thermostat instructions said in order to heat the room to turn the unit off and open the window if necessary that is in October.Over all disgusting!
Stayed here during a weekend in town to see concerts in Saratoga. Hotel and room was clean. The fitness room was excellent. The indoor pool was still under construction but looks like it will turnout nice. This location is close to shopping and restaurants and not quite an hour from Saratoga.
Room’s air conditioning needed a new filter so the room smelled like feet and gave me terrible allergies. We got breakfast on our way out and it was so disgusting we didn’t really eat much and it was $20 per person!!! We picked at scraps at the buffet table and I took some Cheerios. We were so dissatisfied with how expensive it was and how little we actually got. A tip would be don’t eat at this hotel and bring some Benadryl too.
I’m quite shocked that this hotel is part of the Hilton brand. We had originally planned to go to the Mystic Hilton where we stay 3-4 times a year but decided to stay local and let our toddler enjoy the indoor pool. The entrance and surrounding area looks nice and updated... the room however was the complete opposite. The toilet had dried urine on it, dirty countertop and there was some sort of red staining on the connecting door. My husband cleaned the toilet with the hand sanitizing wipes that were in the room and we tried to make the best of it by trying out the pool. The hot tub had construction cones and plywood over it and the pool itself was ice cold. At that point, after being in the hotel for less than an hour, my husband had enough and we decided to check out.The desk attendant was very pleasant and was generous in offering us bottled water. When I mentioned the unclean bathroom, she did offer to change rooms for us but I told her about the pool and asked to either get a credit to use elsewhere within Hilton or a refund. I was told the room would be refunded in a couple of days but was unable to get any sort of receipt/acknowledgement of the refund.I’m not a huge stickler when it comes to traveling and staying in hotels. I understand that little things can sometimes get missed. Dust doesn’t bother me and we are able wipe things down, but this experience completely missed the mark. I don’t expect perfection, but I do expect that with covid going on, there is effort put in for cleaning and sanitation given they have the Hilton cleaning seal on each door. This was the first time I have ever made a complaint at a hotel.
Location is good , the hotel itself is mediocre. Don`t expect anything as a Diamond Member. No recognition of status at check in, no complimentary upgrade and executive lounge was closed. Hotels these days use Covid as an excuse for cutting benefits. Restaurant and bar is open but Executive Lounge is closed because of covid? Yeah sure... The rooms are mediocre as well. Old damaged furniture. Bathroom is TINY.. One of the smallest bathroom I have ever seen in 15 years of travelling. Considering Hilton Hotels should be the brand´s flagship I am very disappointed. These days it is better to stay at a DoubleTree or Mariott which are both nicer than most hilton hotels.
Our stay was intended for relaxation and access to a pool for the kids to enjoy. However it was very difficult to relax when the temperature inside the entire hotel was 80 degrees plus all day and night. 🥵 The AC in my room did not work. It was hot! I attempted to speak to the front desk about the issue and was dismissed. I was told to open my hotel room window (14th floor with 3 children). I was offered a fan for our room. However that didnt help with eating breakfast or dinner at the hotel restaurant. If the heating/cooling wasnt an issue and the if jacuzzi was in working order I would have given it 5 stars Food was good. Staff were friendly. 🥵
This was some time ago, but I thought that I would write about it now anyway. Hilton in my opinion tends to nickle and dime you. When I choose a hotel I dont want to be treated like an employee, I want to be treated as a welcomed guest.Heres my experience. I worked for New York State government, and I was running out of vacation time. There was a giant snow storm forecast to start after midnight. I made the decision to drive up to Albany and stay at the Hilton so that getting to work the next day wouldnt be a problem. Of course I phoned ahead to make sure that rooms were available. I promptly made a reservation and asked if they had a government discount. The person at the other end of the line made the reservation with the government worker rate. Then I get there. I found a woman at the front desk who said that there were no government discounts, then I reminded her that I had a reservation. She checked the reservation and was forced to acknowledge the government discount. I produced my NY State ID card and she had no choice. Here is what I learned from this experience, Hilton employees are either encouraged to nickle and dime you, or they just dont care.
All was fine except the horrible, terrible, and painfully unpleasant check-out and departure. Mr. John E. D Adamo, General Manager, was wonderful. At check-in he personally made what was a rough day for me much more pleasant. Thank you, again, Mr. A Adamo! The entire check-in experience was quite smooth, easy, and very Hilton! Check-out was another story. The woman behind the desk continued her personal discussion with the maintenance man and let me wait with my bags while she caught up with her co-worker. When she was done, without a hello, without a greeting of any sort (I thought courtesy was the custom at Hilton!?), she looked blankly at me, and I took that as my cue to initiate checking out. I will skip over the micro-aggressive surly attitude emanating from behind the desk and just state that I left the hotel and went to the garage for my car. I had never brought my car to this Hilton before, and having parked in the attached garage, imagine my surprise when I drove to the garage gate upon exit-- and the gate would not open! I tried exiting another gate--same result. I had no choice but to re-park and walk from the garage back to the hotel (convenience?) and ask what I had to do to get the gate open. The same Vision of Delight I had seen at check-out looked blankly at me, and after a moment said: Use your key. I just gave you my key, I reminded her. Blank-faced, she reached into a box, took out the key I had given her minutes before, and handed it back to me. Do I keep the key afterward, then? I asked. There is a drop box, she said. Then why did you take the key from me in the first place if you knew I needed it? I asked. No answer.Walking back to the garage, I got into my car, drove back up to the gate, and: nothing. The key didnt work. The woman behind the desk forgot to re-activate it! Walk back to the hotel desk again? No...I noticed an Assistance button on one of the gate boxes and pressed it. Sat. Waited. Eventually, someone, somewhere (thank you!) opened the gate electronically, and the gate opened. I could have saved money and blood pressure points if I had just parked across the street. I will politely request to work with someone else at check-out should I stay at Hilton Albany again.
This hotel sucks hands down. The place is dirty. Rooms not properly cleaned so bring your own supplies. Forget about getting room service in a timely fashion. Had to change rooms twice with plumbing issues. And theres laundry service once a week and no washers or dryers on premises.
Reviews seemed up and down, but company paid so here we go. Firstly, I thought the staff was pleasant, and hotel looked pretty nice. Room was nice, no major issues. Everything worked.. Water drained in the shower a little slowly, but thats about it. Gym is small but I got a nice little workout in. Pool was decent.. Indoor up to 4ft deep. The jacuzzi part had caution tape across the outer rim but I got in via the pool side. Not too hot, but great to warm up before getting out. Short walk to the capital monuments and museums and the cool I♥️NY sign. No complaints, had a nice stay!
Well The receptionist was extremely comforting, (after 6 days on the road) she was delightful, then when I called next day about checkout time, she knew without asking I was a diamond member. and gave me a late check. Sleep I very much needed,, as I left gave me a great tip on were to get some breakfast,,,, Thank you HILTON and company
I stayed here over the weekend for a work event and I have to say it was a pretty nice hotel. Staff was friendly. Couple things: bathrooms are awfully small, the AC unit can use upgrading. I had to get someone to come to the room to adjust it. It was so hot. Other then that, everything went smooth and check in and check out was a smooth transition.
The air conditioning works fine. I dont know what the other reviews were talking about. I had a nice spacious room with a great view of the capital. The building seemed a little understaffed but I think its generally like that over the summer in Albany and the staff that were there were very nice. There was some peeling paint and the bathroom is a little small but overall this is a great stay for the price. Last suggestion the breakfast buffet is way overpriced compared to the diner right across the street so I wouldnt recommend that.
Dated hotel definitely needs a facelift.Beds are comfy, we found a used towel in our bathroom which means someone is not cleaning well or it could have been an honest mistake . Pool area was rather dingy and the pool itself had a grease ring and the hot tub was being repaired.Oh and keep away from the grouchy - aggressive lady sitting by the breakfast area she will throw a menu out at you and hate you for pretty much approaching her hostess stand.
The rooms were clean a few in our family were not so lucky. The elevators rarely work and the air conditioning could not keep up with the 95* heat. This poor bride had to wait to get to her room. Our minimum wait was 5 min our Max wait was elevator never came. So me and my recently fused spine had to walk the stairs. The bar food and drinks were very good. The staff and manager were professionalAnd courteous. We found out from an employee that the problems with the hotel has been going on for at least 10 years. Yikes! Don’t go here if you run late or in hot weather. We had our breakfast and parking comped. I would have preferred air conditioning that cooled.
So apparently during the “summer” the hotel turns off the heat, except the low was 42 tonight and my room is 60... I found out the policy bc I called down to ask about why my heat wasn’t working. I wonder if the rooms were to get up to 80 in the “winter” if they would keep the a/c off. It’s too cold for me to sleep. This is terrible. Just something you may want to know especially if you’re cold natured. No heat as of May 29.
I was there for a hiring event so I cannot say anything about the rooms or service. I can say that the interior is very nice, very clean and also that it is set up with very clear and well marked areas for the covids social distancing guidelines. The pool is nice and quite large, the staff is extremely helpful and nice. The parking is right outside the hotels front door.
Me and my husband arrived late at night, tired after hours of traveling. Neither my credit card or his credit card worked. The staff was actually nice and tried to help but looks like the problem was the hotels system.I went to Renaissance Hotel next block and somehow the credit card worked the first try right away! The problem was definitely the Hilton Hotel. I would not recommend it at all! My recommendation, try a different hotel.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for the front desk staff.
For a Hilton, very sub-standard. Drains in room didnt work, smelled like cigarettes, HVAC didnt heat room. On other hand, Front staff was very nice and accommodating. Having to order food before having a drink though is just another way to take peoples rights away and make people spend money they dont want to. NY is turning into Utah. Get another Governor. Staff up front is why I would stay there in the future.
Beautiful hotel, great lobby, pool is awesome, bar is cool, rooms are modern and clean. The executive level floors however are brutally hot, and the smell of hot garbage punches you in the face when you enter the front doors of the hotel. The staffs attempt to accommodate was much appreciated, but in the end coolest our executive suite got was 81 degrees around midnight. *Need to upgrade AC unit. For a Hilton at this price point this was surprising & a first time experience in a Hilton Branded hotel
Was her for an event, so may explain my experience a bit. But the whole hotel had an off smell to it. The rooms were fine, but not the level I expect at a Hilton. Front desk were AWESOME but the rest of the restaurant and bar staff were not. Very apathetic, very bad customer service. Lots of sighing and pushing you towards more simpler options (for reference I am not a picky customer, I mean the difference between a tap beer and a bottles beer, or fries vs a burger) overall always felt like I was imposing when choosing to eat there. Food was 5-6/10 but obviously low effort.
I had a number of issues with my stay. The fee for parking. The outrageous rates. The air conditioners are mediocre at best. 2 of the 4 elevators were down making wait times for an elevator sometimes 15 minutes or more. There was overflowing garbage in the lobby. Garbage in the hallways on my floor my whole stay. ALL vending machines were out of bottled water. To get to the stairs if you don’t feel like waiting for an elevator you have to leave the building. Rooms need updates. It really was an unpleasant experience
Absolutely horrible. Has a MOTEL feel... Rooms are completely outdated and very dirty. I had to clean and wipe everything down (I usually do anyway) but there was grime on the tables in the room, paint chipping on walls/doors, towels all over an empty pool area (makes me question how clean the pool is)... Not to mention staff is extremely rude, especially when in comparison to other Hilton hotels! No coffee in room even though we have a coffee maker. No microwave and no amenities at all. Had to pay for parking even after we called and asked... Overall just horrible! 👎👎
Bathrooms are small. Floors are dirty. Paint and wallpaper were pealing both in the room and in the hallways. For the price of the room I STILL had to pay $15 for parking and not even a continental breakfast. The AC didnt work. It was 77 degrees in our room ALL NIGHT. No matter what we did it wouldnt cool down. I told the front desk and all they offered was an apology.
I found it confusing that they charged an extra $70 for cover or deposit when we checked in. Thats outrageous and Im expecting to have that money returned. Other guests at the front desk were also caught off guard by this. Ive been at other hotels, including Hiltons, and havent had this experience. Nonetheless, the rooms were certainly outdated, but clean with covid. The location was great. Parking is also free on the streets on weekends, so people dont necessarily need to use their garage or valet service.
The hotel is in the historic district in Albany, great location. Hotel is very clean, bed was very comfortable staff was very welcoming. The reason why I am only giving four stars is I had ordered room service the night before to have a quick breakfast before heading over to my meeting. A common practice for me. however 20 minutes after the time I asked for the food to be delivered elapsed so I called down to room service and I was spoken to by a very rude man who told me “it’s not my problem, there was no order on my desk”. No apology, no “I would be happy to run something up too you” nothing. Surprising as the individual I spoke with the night before was very nice and helpful.
Absolutely horrible... This was all ten of the top ten worst hotel experiences I’ve every had. I had to switch rooms 3 times in 24hrs. Extremely loud rooms, sounded like the people partying across the hall were in my room. Called the front desk at 1:30am after hours of partying, but nothing was done.I could not get out of the garage in the morning and ended up being late for the work I was doing down there. After the 3rd time of backing up the exit ramp and going to the front desk, I was told I’d be charged $20 for parking there for the previous night. I explained that this was not right, but they were rude and did not listen. After switching my room for the 3rd time and trying to get all my gear to the next room, I discovered that the door to my new room would not open. Had to got to the front desk and it was explained to me that some of the door handles were installed upside down, so you “have to open the door a special way, by jamming the door handle up”.Chipping paint everywhere. Rooms very out of date and dirty. Some of the staff did not have masks on at all while there was a sign that said face covering required. The 3 other people I was working with had similar experiences that I had and one ended up leaving in the middle of the night because it was so loud in his room for a second night.Avoid at all costs and stay at a hotel by the airport. Worth the extra 10 mins out there and tons of restaurants out there.
We had a wonderful experience here. Our room was immaculate and the staff were helpful and friendly. The nights were very quiet. The pool and hot tub were just great! We attended a conference here, so we got to use many of the additional rooms, all were well suited. Some of the meals were provided by the hotel and were great. The hotel was in a great location as well– right in downtown with many walkable restaurants and sights. My one complaint would be, every time we left the hotel we were greated by the smell of cigarette smoke. Evidently many people go outside to smoke right near the main entrance. This was pretty off putting to have to walk in and out of a cloud of smoke whenever coming or going.Overall, the Hilton Albany was a great stay.
The place itself was very clean and nice. The restaurant and the people that worked there was extremely nice. The Cooks and waiters, and even the food was just damn good!!! I loved the atmosphere and the night ambience. So ,if you are planning a trip to Albany, New York ,thats the place to stay.....Have Fun!!!!
The hotel was in a great location with a view of the state Capitol building. Service at the front desk was great and quick to respond to issues. The room was nice and clean. The air conditioning did not cool down the room very well, although it wasnt hot. I would say the temperature stayed around 75 degrees F. We had a problem with our toilet where it overflowed.
The hotel was very clean. The rooms were sterilized and and sealed to assure no one has been in your room after sterilization. I also did the black light test and it passed with flying colors. This is a great place to stay in Albany.Caution: if you are arriving after 8pm there is only finger food options at the bar. Uber eats is also iffy after 8pm (lack of drivers). You may want to bring food if you would like something substantial.
Once proud hotel is now simply tired. Hot tub pump didnt work. I tried 4 luggage carts and all were defective. The elevators would strain when full (warning buzzer would sound off). The staff was polite and mostly friendly but not very helpful. I asked for a luggage cart, and was told they were all out and about. That I could check the floors. I check in at 4pm and the room next had placed its room service tray in the hallway. At 4pm the next day, it was till there. I accidentally forgot something in my room after checking out. I was 2 hours down the road when I realized it. I called the front desk and housekeeping 6 times. Still havent heard back.
Staff very pleasant and helpful. Rooms are nice, clean and comfortable, great beds. Towels are lacking, just 2 in the room, had to call for extra each day. AC in our room didnt seem to work very well but it wasnt uncomfortable. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant was SLOW and EXPENSIVE ... To the tune of $50 for 3 people. Room rate was reasonable for the location though so thats a big plus.
My niece was getting married on Jan 18,2020. This was the hotel they picked. We got to the hotel and had to park in the parking lot and carry everything with us to the front desk. The person at the front desk explained we would be charged 20.00 per night to park in the parking lot. We had gotten to our room and it was clean but must have had a leak in the ceiling at one time, paint hanging. The rooms were as hot as hell and tried to lower the thermostat with no success. The bathrooms were Very small . We had a view of the capital building but the windows were filthy. We went downstairs in the morning for breakfast. It was a buffet. We ate cold eggs , cold hash browns , coffee and was charged 43.00 . We had our ticket validated at the venue for the parking, brought it back to the hotel and was told it would come off our bill. Looked at our bill they took only 20.00 off and charged us 20.00. I will never ever stay at this Hilton again.
Excellent service from staff, they accommodated everyone with a nice smile and genuine courtesy. Felt great to see staff that was balanced even under stressful situations. Management keep up the good job, maintain that good balance and teamwork. Hotel was nice and clean, bathrooms in great condition. Ive been to so many hotels in my travels this one definitely impressed me.
Bathroom was tiny you couldnt stand in the bathroom and open the door without standing over the toilet which ran all the time. The room was either hot or freezing as you could only have the ac on or off no temperature setting. Our double queen room had 2 very uncomfortable full size beds. We had friends who stayed at the Holiday Inn Express down the road for less and had much nicer rooms. Never staying here again.
Stayed Friday and Saturday night in room 1529. Room was sealed, after supposed sterilization, but i doubt it. Glass on door was filthy, like it hadnt been cleaned in weeks, tv in bedroom was broken, image kept flicking between last channels picture and current show, carpet looked like it hadnt been vacuumed in weeks, if not months, and to top it off, ice machine was busted so I had to go down a floor each time I needed ice. I had to request a room cleaning Saturday and even then, nothing changed. Was going to stay another night there, but ended up at a different place. Save yourself the money and go someplace else.
For a price of $370 a night I expected more, the whirlpool did not work, the elevator in the garage was broken, they could not get the heat to turn off so the room was 80 degrees. At least they have us a fan! The TV stations were awful half of them did not work. The food from room service was good the people who delivered it were not and a bit rude. This hotel needs an update if they are charging that much money.
This place was maybe high-end when it was fresh, but is definitely stale now. I recently stayed for work and, like other recent reviews, also was hollered at by picketers as I entered and exited. That was uncomfortable, but my low rating is due to a whole lot of little things that added up into an overall negative impression. Shampoo and conditioner were clearly used and only half full. Room was too warm and AC only blew warm air, while colleagues in other rooms had the opposite problem and were too cold. When I called to complain, the woman who answered was in the middle of yelling at someone, possibly a child. She said shed send an engineer and I waited 45 minutes before calling back to cancel because I just wanted to go to bed. On day two, I returned to find that I was not provided with fresh towels or soaps. Plaster ceiling was cracked and crumbling. Carpet in the hall was stained. Furniture was getting worn. Im sure t was all very nice when new (and probably not too long ago), but its time to renovate again if they want to bill themselves as high-end. Did not match my impression of Hilton hotels overall. On the plus side, my bed was clean and comfortable and the staff I interacted with in person were professional.
Rooms are clean and comfortable. I took off 3 stars because of a miscommunication and rudeness from the morning staff regarding an airport shuttle. Side note: this hotel does not offer a free shuttle at 3:40am, despite evening staff assuring me I could ride with the American Airlines flight crew.
I can not believe this hotel gets away with how it treats its guests. I was there for a convention and most of the time only one or two of the elevators were working. At times when a meeting let out, it could take up to 45 minutes to get on one. Many people had to take the stairs and there were elderly people there that were not able to. I heard this has been an on going problem for years! I just don’t get it. On top of that, the air conditioner system wasn’t working it was 80degrees in our room and no AC in the banquet room. The band was dripping and no one danced either night. I just don’t get how they can continue to take guests money and not care about the service the provide! Why not put new elevators in? Fix the AC. Do not stay there!!!!!!
Enjoyed our stay here. Room was great, got upgraded to a suite. Maid never cleaned the glasses from the bar area. Not sure why. Breakfast left something to be desired. Desk staff were wonderful, nice, and accommodating all weekend. Views are great and so is location.
Location is great as it is near TU Center. The restaurant was a horrible experience. Had reservations for 5:00 for 4 people. We were almost the first and only ones there to start. They had one waitress and she did her best as people flooded in. In 1hr and 30 min. We ordered and app that was made wrong, were only offered drinks one time.....ended up going to the bar and buying them ourselves, and finally got our dinners after 90 minutes. Many people just got up and left. The hallway was littered with room service dishes, our room was dirty, and hotter than can be with the thermostat on high cool fan at lowest temperature. After awhile, we just started to laugh about how awful it was at 400.00 for a night.
This is a good Hilton. Beds are comfortable. The fixtures in the room are a bit dated but well maintained. The staff had been very friendly. The restaurant staff was also great and food was surprisingly good for late night hotel lobby food. Some good vegetarian choices -- the vegan chili was tasty. The location is great too... Walkable to the capital, attractions and lots of places to eat and drink. Parking is a bit over priced but the garage is convenient. (Tip: The street meters are free on the weekend so if youre just in town for the weekend, just park on the street).
Front desk was a little rushed, was offered a water but no directions to room or if I had any questions. Room was nice and roomy but there were signs that care was needed. Ripples in the wall and what looked like cover up on the ceiling. But for an overnight stay it wasnt bad.
Really enjoyed my stay here. The restaurant was delicious, but a bit pricey. I recommend the crab cakes. The hotel staff was excellent answering any questions I had, very helpful. My room was always kept stocked and cleaned. Two of the elevators went down halfway through my stay, but it was also a very large conference so thats no ones fault. If I have to come back to Albany in the future Ill know where to stay at.
Our room was way overpriced. Paint was peeling off of the ceilings in the main room as well as the bathroom. Room was not clean. Room was to hot with no adjustments. Hotel restaurant service was the worse I have even experienced and the food once delivered was marginal at best. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
I don’t know how they call this a Hilton. The room was fine, but the common areas were filthy. Sticky, stained floors, cigarette butts in hallways, other guests clearly smoking in their rooms. Two stars because the food downstairs was surprisingly good. Overpriced, of course, but that’s to be expected. All in all, a dirty little hotel with mediocre customer service at best.
The hotel is older but clean. Maybe a bit of a musty smell indicating the need to refresh the interior. Colleagues have complained the ac in their rooms not working well...too hot. No complaints from me. The ballrooms can get very cold, so dress in layers. Food and service are great.
My experience wasnt exactly satisfactory. When I checked in (3:30-4pm) breakfast from the guest prior to me was sitting outside my room. My second day the room was never refreshed. Finally, my final day I asked for a 1pm late check out because of the conference I was attending. I went up at 12:45 to change and prep before my check out and it was already entered and being flipped. Finally, the final day I was there I turned the shower on in the morning and it was turned outside tub soaking me with freezing water and soaking the bathroom which was less than ideal. During the conference I was attending there was not enough food or plates and only 1 server. Additionally, no water was put out until after the meal was complete. The food tastes amazing and had a great selection. The hotel was also spacious. I enjoyed the location of the hotel and out conference went to the donut place across the street, starbucks, and the capital building.
This was not a good overall hotel experience. I expected so much more from a Hilton Branded hotel. First of all, the AC didnt work so therefore we had to use a box fan to make it livable during our week stay. On several nights we noticed that our room had only been half cleaned, with debris on the floor that had not been vacuumed. The facility itself wasnt very clean overall when considering Hiltons normal high standards. Not sure if I would stay here again, however the location is convenient, staff was nice, and shuttle service was very good.
The staff was very lazy, from the front desk young man to the slow service in the restaurant. It also needs a thorough carpet cleaning or change out. My white socks were not white after walking in my room. I was very disappointed by the pool and jacuzzi. The pool was ice Cold and the jacuzzi did not work. As a Hilton Honors guest I was truly disappointed and will not stay there on future trips.
Attended a wedding in the area with my wife this past weekend, and the entire stay could not have been worse. We reserved a room with a King size bed and was given a room with two twin beds. The shower had visible mildew. The entire hotel was suffering with the AC not working so our room was 80 degrees the entire time. Two of the three elevators were not working, and we were on the 10th floor. The parking garage is $20 a day so that’s another way they can nickel and dime you. I will never stay at another Hilton with this experience, especially with all the other options available these days.
Nice place in a good location to the venue I needed to be at. They have a nice bar area, Internet services and the room was nice. The air conditioning was not great, in fact the room was humid and in the 80 degree range for 2 days and the windows didnt open. The second night, the AC was moderate and at least I didnt sweat coming out of the shower. The staff is friendly and there is a Starbucks in the lobby as well.
This was beyond the worst Hilton stay I have ever had. The airport shuttle was either broken down or there was no one to drive it when I came and left. My first room was filthy. The sheets on the bed were dirty. There was hair on the walls in the bathroom, hair through the shower and on the shower curtains. I demanded to be moved to another room where I had the same problem with hair in the bathroom and the shower. I had to stand at the room while the cleaning attendant cleaned the room to make sure it was done right. On top of that my card was charged twice the amount of the room which no one at the hotel seemed to be able to fix. I had to call my bank and dispute the transaction. The entire week I got the run around from management who are all border line incompetent. The only thing good that came from that stay is that I established a relationship with Marriott which is where I am right now, and I found out my bank has horrible technology so I closed that account and went back to Chase. The room and service were disgusting. This is the 3rd issue Ive had with a Hilton property this year and Im done. Im traveling and extra 20 minutes this week to not stay at a Hilton property, but I dont care because the room is clean. I just started traveling weekly for my business so the Hilton Albany did me a huge favor by letting me know in advance that the Hilton properties are not the place to stay.
Worse experience at a hotel ever! We had a Church conference for 3 days with hundreds in attendance. The first day, only 2 of the 4 elevators were working, by the 2nd day, only 1 was working!!! Even the service elevator was giving problems and they couldnt do room service! I asked someone about it and was told that there is always a problem with the elevators...huh? You knew a conference was coming and you didnt try to fix the problem??!! People either waited up to 45 minutes or took the stairs...I was on the 15th floor! On one of the hottest weekends so far, the AC was not working in most of the rooms and especially our conference room...really??? We were suffering...again I said there were hundreds of people. Thank God we had nurses on site because we had a child suffer an asthma attack and several people with heat related issues. They set out pans of ice open to the air with no scoop to take it out...sanitary?? Horrible experience.
It was a debacle from the git go.The room was warm. There was no soap. The room was old, tires and not clean. We changed roomsThe second room was too warm also.I had called ahead to make sure the restaurant would be open for the evening. We went down to eat and were told the restaurant was closed do to the fact that the hotel was not fully booked.( When I booked, I was told it was full.)However there was food in the pub. There was no air flow at all in our room and boy, it was hot and stuffy. We checked out the next day. I didnt even want to be there. If this is representative of the Hilton Brand, wow.Best Western Is ten times better.Everything was brought to a zero balance by management, but, the damage was done. This hotel smells, its old and tired, and I felt very bad for the housemaids on the upper floors. It was not good working conditions either. As an employer, I felt the staff should have been treated better also.
This was probably the worst suite I have stayed in during my business and personal travels. Paid a premium rate on a corporate floor for a Friday overnight stay when the corporate lounge was closed. The carpet, although vacuumed, was stained, dingy and worn - in need of a good shampoo if not an overall replacement. The separate suite looked like some sort of waiting room with unimaginative decor from the 1980s -- not comfortable at all. The only bathroom was miniature and looked like it hasnt been remodeled in years, along with scratches in the sink, paint peeling, and a scuffed up mirror and vanity, certainly not what would be expected with a premium room. The mattress was lumpy and saggy, and there were long strands of hair found on one of the pillows. The room was adjacent to the elevator shaft, which sounded like a sledgehammer pounding metal every time the elevator went by ( a frequent occurrence on the night I stayed, resulting in about 2 hours of sleep). The only redeeming feature of this hotel was the bar food. Otherwise, the hotel was extremely disappointing.
I was pretty disappointed in this hotel. First off it was 80 degrees in the hotel, the acs in the room did not help at all. There were no fans to borrow from the front desk. The ceiling in the bathroom was peeling. The food was pretty good and the bartenders were nice but it’s so run down.
No stars. Stay at another hotel! The air conditioning is working marginally at best in some rooms. Guests were given fans and bought air fresheners. 2 of 4 elevators have not worked all week. Security manning the only elevator on Friday night because it becomes overloaded with 6 people. The stairs have no exit to lobby levels but dump you out in the state street side. Parking and breakfast not included. Management blaming large convention but problems began well before their arrival. Elderly or disabled guests will never get out in case of emergency. Broke stained tiles in car arrival area, stained chairs in bar area, etc. Shame guests expect Hilton name to mean brand quality. STAY AWAY
Ill start this by saying if I could give this hotel ZERO stars I would.Absolutely worst hotel/management I have ever dealt with. We booked our wedding block here with over 60 rooms. Our contract and agreed upon terms were not followed. The night manager Michael was extremely rude to our guests, even going to the extremes of saying he would personally throw their food in the garbage if they continued to eat in the lobby (no signs stating they could not). Mind you, he was saying this to our older wedding guests, not some rowdy group of teenagers. When we asked for an explanation, he became confrontational and threatened further action against us and our guests. Our contract stated that the bar would be open for our guests as an after party venue but upon our return from our wedding, Michael decided to shut the bar down without any explanation. It would only make sense that such a terribly managed hotel would refuse basically free money from patrons trying to use their bar/services.After filing a formal complaint with corporate we have still had no response and nothing has been done / no apology issued / no follow up. Absolutely the worst service I have ever experienced.I would never recommend anyone use this hotel! It was (and continues to be) a horrible experience and we will never stay at a Hilton property again.
Checking in at 5:30pm, my room was not ready (check-in is at 4:00pm). I waited for the room to be ready, approximately 10 minute wait. When I went up to the room, the room was dirty - the bed wasnt made, sheets/bedding was dirty and pillows were on the floor - just unsatisfying for the amount of money I paid for an executive king room. I returned to the front desk in which they questioned my honesty of the room being clean and then switched me to a different room - something that was a complete downgrade from what I had booked. The staff was very unprofessional - they actually sent housekeeping to the room while I was moving my stuff to clean it for me, in which she proceeded to think that putting pillowcases on the pillows would calm my need for the room to be clean- but I had already switched rooms. The staff didnt care that I was unsatisfied and rather shrugged it off after giving me the wrong keys and thinking that a breakfast voucher would fix everything. The location is great however I would rather walk a mile or further to have a clean bed than walk 0.2 miles and stay at this hotel ever again. I would expect my experience from a Super 8 Motel not a Hilton. Very dissatisfied and will never recommend or stay here again.
Room had water damage, air goes from hot to cold, tge cold to hot. The bed you sink in to it, hard, lumpy and ver uncomfortable. If you are above average height the shower is going to be did as it has a fairly low ceiling. People were getting sick stay there and my business partner had to go to the hospital for breathing treatments likely due to air quality and with possible exposure to mold. We told them about our experience and they offered me reward points . Like I’d want to stay there again.
I stayed here for wedding. Dont bother trying to get a early check in complete run around. Once I finally got into my suite 929. The TV in the living room didnt work. The bathroom was smaller than the closet. One of the lights was actually falling off the wall, in the master bedroom. To top it all off!!! all I can here in my suite is the elevator going up and down all night long no sleep. Call the front desk about all my problems. I was told they will be fixed. Never happened. I am a Hilton honors member and love Hilton hotels. This one was by far the worst one I have ever stayed in.
When I arrived for a conference, I parked in the parking garage, and went to the elevator, which was not working. Despite having heart failure, I had to drag my luggage down 3 flights of stairs and 1/2 a block to get to the entrance. The smell hit me as soon as I walked in the door. It smelled like mold and mildew. Several times I asked the front desk different questions about the conference or the broken elevator, or why it was so hot, but they didn’t have an answer for anything. I believe the ventilation system was broken. The whole building smelled bad! Especially on level B where most of the conference was held. Many of the elevators in the hotel itself didn’t work. Hotel staff was uninformed and even rude when asked questions. When I left after being there for 3 days, I couldn’t believe how much easier it was to breathe! I believe the building was actually bad for people’s health! I feel bad for the 3 weddings that were there the day I left! And the rooms were very dark with inadequate lighting. It was like being in a cave. I will never stay at this hotel again, and cannot believe it is a Hilton hotel- that name used to mean something. Guess not anymore.
Hotel, and its rooms, is fairly nice, with comfortable beds. That being said, it has its issues. Ive stayed there several times for work, and there are persistent mechanical problems. Leaking pipes, hot rooms/thermostat issues, just to name a few Ive experienced. They do attempt to resolve many of the issues, with a seemingly full time staff of engineers, who Ive seen constantly moving about the hotel on each stay. And, each time Ive encountered a problem, the front desk staff has been accommodating and pleasant. On my last stay, they even went so far as to offer me 2 coupons for appetizers at the restaurant downstairs. I will say, however, that the restaurant is extremely overrated and overpriced. Though, it has a very nice ambiance.
Had a one night stay. Only issue with the room was the tub/shower. My head was even with the showerhead and I am 5 10 tall. The continental breakfast was included and was pretty good. I did feel that things werent explained fully. Like where the breakfast was served. I automatically went to the lobby for breakfast but it was actually on the 13th floor, same floor as my room. Also there was no explanation of how to exit the parking structure. I paid through my room bill but wasnt told that you dont have to use the ticket kiosk but just use you room key to exit the structure. I think I am of average intelligence but was very confused, lol. The view of the older buildings in town from the room window was fabulous.
Good, clean, rather institutional hotel. Nice restaurant, bar, parking. Avoid the suites due to the fact you can hear the elevators all night long. Sounds like a jet taking off and makes sleeping a challenge. Has room service which is a plus. Conveniently located in downtown Albany , close to the Times Union Center and state government buildings. Good for a business stay or a weekend.
Attended a convention in this hotel for 3 days with hundreds of people in attendance. On day one, 2 out of the 4 elevators were not working, by the next day it was down to one functioning elevator. When I arrived on my floor I noticed that the hallway was a bit warm but I didnt pay attention to the heat until I got to my room. As soon as I got inside, a moldy aroma hit me. I dropped my bags also immediately and checked the thermostat. The room was at 80 degrees! The fan was circulating at its fastest speed and the temperature was set to 70 degrees and that still wasnt enough to cool the room down. My bathroom was way too small and I was shocked that it didnt have a ventilation fan. I left the room to go buy an air freshener. The wait time for the elevator to get back to the lobby was almost 15 minutes and someone told me that I had it good because the waited for more than half an hour! For the rest of my stay I took the stairs down. I was on the 12th floor. There were elderly people in this convention and for them to be walking down those flights of stairs is ridiculous. Those staircases actually led us to street and not to lobby, had to walk up a city block to get back to the lobby. The ballroom that the convention was held in was so stuffy and hot. Ice was provided, but there were no scoops, not very sanitary. I was told that these problems were going on for weeks. How can the let this happen, knowing that majority of the hotel rooms were booked? Unacceptable. Not to mention this was the hottest weekend in the summer so far and the air conditioning and ventilation system was running subpar baffles my mind greatly. The only nice thing about this hotel is the location and the view I got from the 12th Floor. Other than that, this building needs to be demolished and reworked from the ground - up.
Staff is super nice & helpful so they deserve 5 stars. The view of the state Capitol from the Executive Lounge is quite impressive and deserves high marks, too. However, the hotel itself deserves only 3 stars. The door to each guest room is at least 3/4 inch off the floor so the hall traffic and conversation is quite loud. I had a connecting room with the doors closed but I could hear the guests next door talking until 3am and when they flushed the toilet! Please get thicker doors and perhaps slightly longer doors or rubber padding or something to make the door more flushed with the floor. That 3/4 inch gap does let in all the hall conversations. The building has uneven airflow so my coworkers in the other floors (15th and 7th) could not cool down their room as the temperature remained around 74 degrees though its 40 degrees outside. They had set the thermostat to 70 degrees. Luckily, my thermostat worked properly so I was able to maintain my room at a comfortable 70 degrees. Also, many attendees at the conference complained they did not have hot water for showers in the morning. Perhaps the water heater is not strong enough when there is full occupancy? I heeded the warning from my coworkers so I showered in the evening to ensure i get hot water.
A large hotel with great staff, a decent lounge, fair wifi, but is showing its age. 2 elevators were down for the time I was there, those that remained working had issues. The have a shuttle service, but make reservations if need to leave at a specific time. The gym had a trio of treadmills (whose tv input didnt work), a pair of stair machines, small weights and a few things I dont recall. A nice looking pool(didnt use it though). All in all if you like Hilton (which has an amazing app) you will be fine here. They charge you up front, above your expected room rate, for incidentals, which they refund 3-5 days after you check out.
Like some other reviewers, I had a very mixed opinion of this hotel. Typically when visiting Albany I stay in the Renaissance across the street, which remains one of my favorite hotels anywhere. However, as a Diamond Hilton member I feel some loyalty to the Hilton brand and opted to give Hilton Albany a try.I arrived a bit late in the evening and was promptly checked in and offered a complimentary upgrade to a suite - very cool. Got up to the room, and immediately started finding problems, notably; room smelt heavily of smoke, smoke detectors all covered in plastic, and a lights in the lounge area were flickering constantly, even when powered off. I went back down to the lobby where the same gentleman who checked me in was surprised to see me back so soon. I explained about the issues and asked to be moved, which he did. I headed to my new room, which was now on a much lower floor. It unfortunately didnt have as good of a view as the first room, but at that point I didnt care.Pros:- Upgrade was a nice thought- Executive lounge breakfast was decent- Room was comfortableCons- Several issues with room I was given (resolved by moving to other room)- Parking garage is gross and sketchy- No valet parking offered- Shower is extremely short - Im 6 ft and nearly hit the ceiling
Lobby was mobbed, Very busy and disorganized check in, no flow designation for people waiting in line. Very friendly front desk manager! Executive floor room...obvious signs of water damage on ceiling, kids running around slamming doors. Included Exec Breakfast was good. Check out staff not pleasant or helpful. Cost to park in garage seems excessive given the extra cost of the Executive Floor Room
Very very very disappointed. The room is like a basement apartment.Flies in my suite . I ordered a microwave at the time of booking and was told that it is a privilege not a guarantee. The bed looks like it was just slept on.I would not rent this to my tenant. However the restaurant and staff is very courteous and nice .I wont be returning.
Excellent customer service the room looks nice and clean, i was concerned about flies around the bar area and the pillows had some kind of weird small like wet hair, i just did not like that. Other than that it was great for one night. As typical you have to pay for everything and anything parking, food anything inside of the hotel. And the price is not cheap.
I had a wonderful time at the Hilton in Albany New York. The staff are very professional and courteous and go the extra step to make your stay pleasurable. I received complementary water bottles upon check in. My room was clean and spacious. Room service was amazing, and the food sent to our room was tasty if not excellent. The hotel is within walking distance of many state attractions. I look forward to staying here again when I come back into Albany.
I am at my wits end with this place! I left some very nice clothing in the closet during my stay and have been trying to talk to a person about it FOR FOUR DAYS! I’ve tried everything! I’ll sit on hold for 30 min only to be disconnected. I’ve tried calling the corporate number and ended up being transferred around, even being transferred to two of the wrong Hiltons. At least those Hiltons had someone picking up the phone. Then I got word the phone was down for a few days. Ok, fine. Finally I reach a person and they transfer me to a voicemail... Left two messages, as this happened twice, and that person, whoever they are, still hasn’t called me back. I know things are tough with COVID. But I didn’t have the best customer experience during my stay there either. In fact, this is the worst customer experience I’ve experienced in quite sometime.
Need a better way to facilitate traffic flow of guests when hosting big events especially for handicaps should be a priority when using the elevators. The last time I was here it was sad to see the struggle to get in and out. I understand it may not be easy to control a crowd when hosting big events but Should a staff be assigned to the elevators please put that on the list. Priorities, priorities, priorities and accomodation for all, no one left behind. Here is an Idea: redirect most guests to the nice knees-friendly spiral stairs overlooking the beautiful pool and reserve one elevator with a staff reserved for the elderly, special needs and handicaps wheelchairs and their assistants. On another note good customer service
The room was not ready when weve arrived at 11PM. Many guess in a similar situation. Finally got a room at 11h45PM. No bed in the room, only one sofa bed and a roll up bed I was able to get hold off. When calling back to get a new room, the lady told us we have to speak with her manager and hung up. Took the elevator back downstairs. Long line of angry customers waiting to speak with the manager. Exhausted, I shared a sofa bed with my with and kid. The following morning, the manager denies the situation and tells us to call hotels.com, which I did. Hotels.com was unable to get the manager to admit to the situation, even though I had pictures of the room. They tried on 3 different attempts. The manager said that we got an “upgrade”...very dishonest. Hotels.com kindly offered 50$ as a compensation. Bad hotel, please do not encourage. To the hotels manager: I travel all year long and this is the first time I have to faced such bad customer services. To have you lie to your clients face and to hotels.com staff is unacceptable, especially when the customer has pictures of the room.
Super clean. Quick, efficient, friendly check-in process. Nice bar and large seating area to relax in lobby area. The only complaint I have is my feeling that we should not have had to pay $ 6.00 for two (small) cans of Pepsi in their little snack area. $3.00 per can is totally uncalled for, in my opinion.
This place is not clean. I stay here regularly due to a corporate contract and for several years now it seems to be a little more worn out and dirty each time I stay. I spend about 200 nights per year on the road and this hotel is in the bottom 10%. And that’s being generous. The hallway carpets are filthy with stains and spots and they also appear to not have been vacuumed in weeks, perhaps longer. The rooms are ok, but they are a bit shabby too. for a Hilton property, this place is really a disappointment. It’s in about the best spot though if downtown Albany is where you have to be.
Terrible. Bad night of sleep. Super loud. Heard elevator every 10 secs. Weird hotel sounds. Unfriendly staff. Confusing shuttle. Rude room service. Front desk lady did not care.I am updating this review. I tweeted my concerns to Hilton Corporate and they were extremely kind and responsive. Will book with Hilton again, just not in Albany. Am staying at another Hilton right now and could not be more happy and cozy.
We checked in and dumped our stuff off, not getting back until around midnight. When we got to our room it was horribly hot; the thermostat read 80 degrees. We cranked the AC, which did nothing but blow out hot air. After an hour of having the AC on high, the room was still 79 degrees. We tried twice to call the front desk, and no one answered. We were exhausted and gave up, not willing to repack our stuff and try to find someone to move us. The windows only open about 3 inches and the noise outside was loud.Very disappointed a nice hotel like a Hilton cant even having working AC. Looking through older reviews, this is a common problem at this hotel. We ended up barely sleeping, and definitely wont be staying here ever again.FYI: there are several large parking lots within a 5 minute walk that are free on weekends. Also, theres a good diner right around the corner for breakfast.
The hotel was clean and staff was friendly. The entry way was sufficiently grand. There elevators a little slow. Parking was next door is a garage. The garage had no direct access to the hotel, which I thought was weird. Also, they said it was 15 a day for parking, but when we left they didnt charge us. My only real complaint was that the shower head was about 5.5 feet up, at 6 feet tall it was under my head which is bizarre. Overall out stay was fine.
The hotel was nice. Checked in on a Thursday evening and the local area was pretty much dead by 8pm. Just a couple small bars and restaurants were open and they were packed as most other places had shut by then (I thought this was odd).Ended up having a great burger in the hotel bar; great service, cold beer and reasonable prices. I paid about $20 for a burger and a beer.In the morning I got a free extension on checkout. With the extra time I was able to walk over to the free museum and then to a battleship docked in the river.Saw some cool stuff in the local area but it seemed a bit sketchy especially at night.I’d definitely stay at the hotel again but only if I need to be in Albany.

2022-01-04Stayed overnight for a meeting, room was spacious and clean , bathrooms are a little small but it’s okay. The garage to lobby process threw me off. Breakfast was phenomenal the egg Benedict is so yummy my sister had the lumberjack good amount of food. Our sever Kayla was super sweet and recommended options. She also makes the best hot chocolate. Will definitely recommend and stay again

2022-03-24First visit ever to Albany. The hospitality here has been the best I have ever been! I have been from Florida to Texas and I dare say it! Bar staff Gwen and Elaine were amazing! Kitchen staff Sean made me feel at home! Basil approved my pictures and the rest is yet to present itself! Kudos to you all! Keep up the good work!

2022-04-15Made a stop here on the way to Montreal. I booked this hotel without looking at the reviews, which was my mistake. As others have noted, the rooms have a strong musty smell, which made the entire stay uncomfortable. It’s an old, unkept building.I was told at check-in that I had a $30 food and beverage credit ($15 each person), but was told at checkout that I didn’t since they recently reopened the executive lounge. This didn’t make any sense because never in my experience has it been one or the other, especially for Diamond members. I didn’t bother fighting it because I didn’t actually end up purchasing anything to use the credit for.The only reason I didn’t leave 1 star is because the service in the executive lounge and during check-in was friendly. In my 7 years being a Gold and Diamond member, this was by far the most uncomfortable Hilton experience.Won’t be staying here again. I recommend staying at the renaissance around the corner. It’ll be worth the extra few bucks.

2022-04-03The hotel was a 6 minute ride from the train station. The breakfast was not included but it was delicious with many options. The hotel was surrounded by dining options and was a short walk to the conference center. Rooms were cleaned daily and the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay.

2022-05-02After declining a reservation at a different hotel because of how unsuitable the location and accommodations were we stumbled upon this Hilton. They offered us free breakfast and a coupon for the bar just as a courtesy when we checked in because they could see we were frazzled. The entire staff was lovely and the room was simple but clean and comfortable.

2022-05-23They charge for parking & the woman that checked me in conveniently forgot to mention that. We only parked in garage 1 night, but we were charged for 2 night @ $20/day. Bathroom was tiny. Shower was dirty & the kicker - we arrived Friday, slept & when we woke up realized the duvet/ comforter was never changed from prior guests. There was make up on it & me, nor my fiancé were wearing make up. We told front desk & the women just shrugged & shook her head. No comp. No nothing. And this hotel was not cheap.

2022-05-13I was there overnight and it was okay but not spectacular especially at $260/night. I was here several years ago and it was much better then. I think the housekeeping has gone down Hill as well as the maintenance. Some of the employees were friendly, but not most.I had just stayed a week at a great Hampton Inn in Maryland and at the Hilton Atlanta in March and expected more.Next time I will stay at the Hampton Inn nearby.

2022-06-20We were able to get a last-minute hotel here at 2 AM but they gave us room that was already taken. Pretty sure the people in that room didn’t appreciate us barging in at 2 AM. We were able to get a different room but it was late and inconvenient to have to go through all the trouble. Pretty decent breakfast offered on the 13th floor. Parking is not included/$20 a night.

2022-06-20I felt very unsafe from the moment of check-in. The area around this hotel is very seed, and a stronger security presence is needed. The adjacent garage is especially unsettling to go into or out of at night. Signage in the garage indicates that no personal property should be left in vehicles. After being unsettled over safety issues checking in, two armed police officers beat on my door around midnight the first night of my stay, waking me up. When I opened the door, they said Oh, wrong room. They were obviously there for something else. I later learned they were responding to a 911 call.I was planning a multi-night stay. On the second day, I was working remotely from my hotel room and decided that I would not feel comfortable spending another night there due to the safety issues (not to mention being so worked up and unable to sleep after the incident with the armed police officers). I called the hotel just after lunch after searching for and finding another place to stay (around 1:45 PM on Friday) to indicate that I did not feel comfortable staying any longer and asked if they could check me out. They said NO, it was too late. As a result, I continued working remotely in the room until about 8:00 PM and then departed for another hotel which I paid for. I later called Hilton Diamond to request a refund of the cost of the room for Friday night. I was initially told by Hilton Diamond that they would either have the hotel refund the cost of the Friday night stay within three days, or Hilton Diamond would take care of it. Nobody responded to me for two weeks. After a third phone call, they told me they could not refund the room because I stayed in it until 8:00 PM (despite my pointing out repeatedly that I only stayed in it until 8:00 PM because I was working remotely and the hotel had already refused to allow me to check out). They offered a meager points credit that did not come close to the cost of the room. This was a really bad experience on multiple levels, but most importantly for other guests, if you are concerned about staying in a safe environment, I would not stay at this hotel. Beyond that, I am just very disappointed with Hilton Diamond customer service. I cannot imagine this type of experience with Marriott Bonvoy.

2022-01-30I was very disappointed..I expected better because this was a Hilton. The bathroom sink kept backing up, the engineer fixed it but the issue wasnt resolved, the ceiling was peeling and some of my fellow guest expressed fustration of not being able to regulate the temperature in their rooms. From the outside the building is beautiful, the lobbies are beautiful..the elevator wait was ridiculous but, thats not within their control. Clearly some work needs to be done to bring this hotel up to The Hilton standard that HH members expect.
