I was leery about staying in the financial district. From past experiences in other cities, the financial district is far from everything and having a rental car is a must, but this is New York City. This is a perfect location. Walking distance from lots of activities and touristy things. No need for a car service unless you want to venture a little further out and don’t want to walk. The staff was very courteous, professional, and helpful.Only negative - Garden Grille is a supposed restaurant they advertise on the premises. However, it was closed due to Covid. No biggie for me because I prefer not to eat in hotel restaurants anyway, but it is a nice option for those lazy moments when you don’t want to leave. It is a disappointment for those that were expecting it. However, it looks like a great spot to rent out for small events.
We had to conduct business in Manhattan, and this hotel location was convenient. The staff was welcoming and friendly, but one went above and beyond; Stephen. Stephen was very attentive, welcoming, helpful and above all a great representation. Stephen accommodated our request for linen, water and directions to local eateries. Above all; our room was clean, with a great view of the water.
Beautiful decor lobby and rooms. Steps away from the Staten Island ferry terminal and next door to a Starbucks. Friendly staff the restaurant serves delicious food everyone treats like your home it was a great visit. I recommend signing up for the Hilton rewards club its free to join and saves you money in the end by building up points you earn discounts and even a free nights stay after a while.
I usually try to find a Hilton brand when traveling. Visited this location on a recent trip to NYC over a weekend. Originally wanted to stay in midtown but decided that the financial district would be a less crowded area and found this hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and the rooms were in great condition and importantly very clean. Its easy to get to the the bowling green subway station or walk to the Staten island or governor island ferry
Very welcoming and friendly experience from staff , Steven was so helpful. Great location steps from Battery Park and ferry to Statue of liberty, close to 9/11 memorial, restaurants and Subway. Rooms was clean the only thing was they didnt provide housekeeping everyday due to covid.
Upon my arrival I requested extra pillows and toiletries in my room. Never got them. Once I arrived I had to wait for my room to be cleaned which was fine as I arrived 30 minutes early. However, upon check in I was not provided any water or told the amenities in the hotel which I observed was told to the other guests. The room was good as it looked over Battery Park City. A plus !! Another plus its centrally located by trains and restaurants. However, for a clean room why was there leftover pizza and open beer in my fridge. Eww. When I finally got settled I requested a shower chair. 2 hours later as well multiple calls to the front desk and multiple visits later from the staff asking what I needed such as do I need my shower repaired, etc. I recieved the chair. :( poor customer service and communication. The view and location was great but doubtful I will stay again due to the poor customer service.
Clean inside and good service at the desk. Very close to the Staten Island Ferry Station. Very close to the subway and citi bikes and Governors Island, and Battery Park. Sadly the surrounding area is really dirty and rat infested. The hotel is nice inside and secure. I would recommend the hotel.
The hotel common areas and room were always clean, and the staff was very helpful and accommodating. Great location for subway stations, Battery City Park, Staten Island Ferry, and NY Waterway. Hotel was out of the heavy traffic/touristy areas but still had plenty of eating and entertainment options.
We checked in on Hilton app the night before we came in, we booked and reserved two rooms next to each other. However, after we came the next day, the front desk told us that the hotel has cancelled our original room selections and gave us two rooms in different floors because we came late??? Then why do they encourage us to use Hilton app to make room selections if they can cancel them whenever they want?? Whats the point of checking in in advance using the app??? Also, the digital key keeps showing Requested rather than delivered after the check in process has been completed long after. This is my first time experiencing this and it ruined my mood!! This hotel sucks and I will never ever stay here!!!
I’m a true Hilton member. I usually stay at the millennium Hilton (no longer a Hilton) or the Doubletree. This time I decided to try Hilton Garden Inn. I will never stay at another one. I am completely hooked. The service was impeccable. The location is great and the prices are reasonable. I’ll definitely be using this as my monthly hotel now.
Been a Hilton diamond member for ages I’m in a hotel on average once a month even during the pandemic this was by far the worst experience. I checked in as soon as I was able to on the app around noon by 230 I had my digital key and notification that the room was ready when I arrived at 6 PM my digital key was no longer available so I went to the front desk where I was told my room wasn’t ready and I have to wait in the lobby. Was told apparently the person who had my room had a late check out but they didn’t bother to call me and notify me so I had a digital key at one point I could’ve walked into a strangers hotel room could’ve been a Terrible situation. Was given a bottle water and asked to wait nothing from the pantry, no “we’re sorry”points just waiting.
Positive: The location is very good, close to the ferry, subway station and wall street financial district Negative: Room is pretty small and is not that clean. They dont clean everyday because of pandemic unless guests request the service. Sink is kind of clogged and faucet is kind of broken.

2022-04-27The hotel is in a very convenient location, within walking distance to many restaurants and public transportation; its close enough to the tourist activities without being too close. Our room, while a little small (maybe big for NY?), was comfortable and quiet. Steven at the front desk was a fantastic, welcoming host and alone could make this a 5-star hotel. The nightly rates were also very reasonable. My only gripe that bumped my review down a star is that the workout room had run out of wet wipes and hand sanitizer for majority of my stay, and wasnt replenished until after I had asked.

2022-04-08I love this hotel. I love the neighborhood, access to public transportation and all the beautiful water views, parks and sense of history. Plenty of restaurants. The room is comfortable and clean and you have room to walk and put your things away and…..a microwave and small refrigerator. In these days of micro hotel rooms this is a luxury. I am happy to make this my NYC hotel. Request a water view and you have endless entertainment.

2022-05-12This hotel is super-solid, and professionally run. I highly recommend it. Just a few design flaws affected the experience slightly, but absolutely nothing major.PROS:-Quiet rooms. Didnt hear a peep.-Perfect beds. Slept like a baby.-Clean. Didnt see a hair anywhere.-Parking easy thanks to arrangement with nearby lot.-Well-equipped gym.-Professional staff.CONS:-Sliding door on bathroom prevents privacy, in particular given that bathroom is beside bed.-Bathroom fan doesnt work.-Blackout drapes billow outwards due to placement of air conditioner, allowing some light into room. And the rooms are small, but thats New York. Overall a completely dependable place.

2022-06-20Everything about this hotel is awesome. Staff are so friendly and super helpful. We were allocated room 808 King room with a water view (see photo attached). The bed is dreamy and bathroom extremely clean. We used the guest laundry in the basement on our last night - cheaper than the laundromats that are a few train stops away.South Ferry Subway is a 2 minute walk from the hotel that takes you up to Wall Street, World Trade Center, Penn Street Station, Times Square and beyond to Harlem. You can also catch the free Staten Island Ferry here that takes you past the Statue of Liberty AND walk further to cat h a Ferry across to Brooklyn.Lots of places to eat close by within a couple of blocks.Just entertaining watching the world from our window.High recommend this hotel. Enjoy.

2022-06-30During our stay at this location we received nothing short of excellent customer service. Everyday we were greeted by staff from our going out to coming in, with smiles and welcoming gestures! The room was very spacious and kept after as room keeping was always done promptly and when requested. The hotel is conveniently located to everything you could imagine from grocery stores to restaurants to the ferry! Overall a 5/5 experience!!

2022-05-12The staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. The hotel was clean. Thats the good news. The website was misleading and dishonest. The website stated there was a restaurant on site; open for meals. Not true, restaurant has been closed since 2020. The website advertises water view rooms. We booked a water view room but did not have a view of the water. We had a view of the building across the street. If one stood by the window and bent around to peak around the corner of the building across the street, one could see some water. When we told the desk clerk that this was not what the website lead us to believe and we wanted a water view window because that is what we paid for: he replied that was a water view room and there was nothing he could to change it.. We were mislead and that is not ethical. Other issues included a security bolt on the door that did not work and the thermostat in our room did not work. A member of maintenance did come to fix these issues but after he left; they still did not work. . The room would get so hot, we would have to open the window. When one pays for a room, one expects to get what was promised; we did not.

2022-04-15This was a good hotel in a good location. The only thing I would say is that the lack of consistent room service is disappointing. I don’t know the reason… Maybe they’re understaffed or maybe they are still blaming Covid somehow, but when you’re staying at a hotel, one of the perks is that somebody makes your bed for you and you don’t have to remember to have somebody refresh your coffee and things. The only other thing I would say is that it’s probably not worth it to pay extra for a room with a view of the water. The hotel is positioned behind a large building and if you get a corner room, like we had, you can see a little slice of water one way and a little slice of water looking the other way. Definitely not worth what we paid for it.

2022-04-14Positive: Location, refrigerator and microwave, which is hard to find in NYC! Size of room was also a bit larger than typical NYC hotel Negative: Rooms are no longer cleaned daily and we had to request new towels and toiletries. They were readily provided and I understand that these services have changed due to Covid 19, however, we are still paying the rates that include a higher level of service

2022-03-02Really good stay, very warm welcome from Steven who made sure I had everything I needed for my stay. The hotel is well located, very short walking distance to subway stations. Room was very comfortable, with good desk for working and enough charging points. Will definitely stay here again.

2022-05-30Excellent hotel! Close to the subway, Battery Park, and Staten Island/Liberty Island ferries. . Clean rooms, knowledgeable staff. The rooms were small but we were out sightseeing most of the day, not spending time in the room. I would definitely stay here again.
