I actually came here by mistake. When I arrived I really needed to use the bathroom. Front desk had no issue and I was directed. I drive for uber so usually I never get to go in. Ill be honest when I say from the door to the front desk you just feel welcomed. I was impressed with how smooth everything was going. It seemed like everyone knew what they had to do. Definitely will be coming back for a 2 day getaway from the city.
The hotel is beautiful and clean, but the staff at front desk was not welcoming or even friendly. The big complaint is that the wall soundproofing in the room is inadequate. At 3am the people in the next room came in and started playing music and talking along with other things. All of it came the wall and woke us all up. I called the front desk and the person answering the phone didnt even know the room number of the room next door. I had to go and look at the door plate. After the call nothing happened. The next morning the neighbors were talking in their room and we heard them. It did not seem like they were talking that loud. Needless to say we are very dissatisfied and will not stay in this hotel again.
Im a hilton honors member and Ive stayed here more times than I can count. I was there when they first opened. The lobby is very pleasing to the eye. Beautiful decor. Front desk staffs attitude varies. For the most part; theyve been polite and friendly. I went back recently after not having gone there in a couple of years and the quality of the rooms have definitely degraded. Upon entering, I did not get the smells fresh feel when going in. I noticed the coffee machine was all dusty. The bathroom didnt look thoroughly cleaned either. I feel like after the newness wore off, management have been slacking. I used to look forward to going there because there is a HUGE parking lot (free!) But I may re-consider going there because of how the rooms didnt seem properly cared for.
They have a 12 dollar continental breakfast. Serve yourself bagels and cereal. Let me put it this way, the Port Orchard, Washington Comfort Inn had a better breakfast for less fuss for free. The rooms are nice, the location is convenient, but gotta fix that breakfast.
This property does a poor job of welcoming guests, especially solo travelers who are not connected with a sponsored corporate event.I made a solo trip to the USA from London - the purpose of the visit was to inspect a house in Dobbs Ferry that we are in the process of purchasing. This property is the closest hotel to that location and both my husband and i have stayed several days each in separate trips connected with inspections on the house. The main challenge i experienced was finding the hotel forecourt (entrance) when arriving in an Uber car. This hotel is located in a mixed use development (Offices, restaurants and cinemas) accessible from the nearby Saw Mill River Parkway and the New York Thruway. The hotel is the tallest structure in the development. Finding a way in for the first time is truly challenging! If you are an arriving guest, please follow the directions here carefully. If your SatNav system takes you to the east side of the building - its Hamilton St., you will be on the wrong side of the building for first time access. Having driven around the building in the Uber car, i asked the driver to leave me off on Hamilton St as it appeared to be a front aspect to the hotel building. There are no access points, however, for first time guests. There is a door at the southern end of the building which includes the property name in red letters (Hampton Inn). However, that entrance can only be used by guests who have room keys. There is a roundabout at the southern end of Hamilton St, If you are arriving from the motorways to the east, look for the Ogden Ave. exit which is a steep uphill road. In a very short distance ( a few yards / meters) take the first right turn. There is a very small sign in dark red lettering but it was not visible when i arrived at dusk in a rain storm. Proceed down a ramp onto what looks to be a car park entrance - carry on straight and you will arrive at the hotel forecourt just inside the car park structure. The room was a generous size and all appliances worked properly. However, you need to ensure that you advise the front desk each day that you want your room to be serviced. This is not an automatic daily function as in most hotels. Despite my request on the second day, the hotel failed to service my room.I ate dinner in the hotel on my third night. The menu offered a reasonable selection of salads and mains; the portions were good-sized and table service was polite and efficient. I had an open faced sandwich with mozzarella and tomatoes - moderately priced at less than $20 including a non-alcoholic drink.I wrote to the General Manager of the franchisee and provided detailed suggestions during my stay.
The staff was extremely attentive and helpful. The hotel followed all COVID protocols and I felt very safe. Every request I Had was met with a smile and the requests were fulfilled. The hotel is located near restaurants. I had a great experience and the next time I am in NY visiting my family, I definitely would stay here again
Nice n clean. Room was large and comfy. Although it could use better lighting. They even have full size pillows! My only complaint is breakfast. For $202 a night, it should have at least a free continental breakfast. $10 for fruit n toast? There is a restaurant on site. But you cannot call down to it from the room and order ahead. They provide a menu at the lobby desk. But no number to call. So I sat in the dining room in my pajamas waiting for my to go order.
I have stayed here 3 days, everyone from night manager, the people at the check in desk to the restaurant and bar have been great. My hats off to the Bar Tender Kevin, what a great guy and very knowledgeable in drink making. He made my stay very memorable and enjoyable. My only complaint in my whole stay is the other bartenders, one, I wont mention her name has been there 3 weeks and cant pour a beer. The other cant speak very could English and cant even make a drink. Why have them bar tenders. Otherwise the place is great.
The whole staff is exemplary, but I should note the above and beyond nature of the service provided by three in the dining area. Kevin is a great bartender. He remembers names and regular orders. He also gives good recommendations. With some of the shipping issues, he has to make recommendations for modifications. He is engaging with the guests. Also, I’ve seen him taking care that the bar and dining area is ready for the next day. He runs a good ship.Robert who just recently started in the kitchen makes a great hamburger and salmon (separate dishes). If people knew about the quality of the food, you would see more people eating at the hotel.Manny, who typically works the breakfast, does an excellent job of taking care of us. He remembers the guests and their orders from day to day. He keeps my coffee filled.
I have been staying the HGI Dobbs Ferry, NY, on a regular basis for the last 8 months. I am extremely pleased with Manny at the HGI restaurant. Manny attends to guests 7days a week serving breakfast. His highly professional attitude and service are rare to find these days. He remembers my preferences (breakfast food, beverages, and other) and checks with me at least a couple of times how i am doing and whether he could do anything better to provide exceptional customer service. Keep it up, Manny!
Far from a perfect experience... Very disappointed... Staffing issues appeared to be the problem and malfunctioning equiptment (refrigerator, sink, toilet.) No one explained the room service pandemic policy, so room was not cleaned, garbage cans not emptied and then when requested, it still wasnt cleaned.
Overall, my stay was good. I had to check out early due to an emergency at home. I received my final bill via email and was charged for three days that I was not there. I called and had them adjust the bill, they said I would receive the revised bill shortly. It took me two more phone calls to finally get a copy of my revised bill. I feel that is a little lacking on customer service.
Modern and clean rooms with refrigerator, microwave and comfortable beds. Broken ice machines on at least 2 floors, disinterested front desk staff, no restaurant or room service. Had to request towels since we were only given 2 towels for 4 people. Elevators required long waits due to what seemed to be cleaners using them and leaving them open for periods of time.
It was a fair stay. No free breakfast and I had to forfeit my bonus points to get breakfast. My fridge was not working properly. There was barely any cold air. Also, it seems like almost every store is far away from the hotel. The overall room was clean. Not one of the worst hotels Ive stayed at but not the best either. The only way Id stay at this hotel again is if I were passing by on a personal trip. Otherwise, you could probably find a hotel that has a lot more stores nearby and not plopped in the middle of nowhere.
Room was clean and very spacious. Internet worked great. Was able to run my series X and okay warzone with no issues. However it seemed like the hotel wasn’t that full so not sure about during prime timeCheck in and out was easy on my phone and my room was ready ahead of schedule. It was very quiet when I was there staff was very friendly. No dinner/room service menu seen so I didn’t bother calling about it but you can take an elevator to the street level and there are places to eat within ten seconds walk to a minute. Starbucks right across the street as well. Will use this hotel next time I’m in the area
We’ve been here twice now for business and it’s alright except the setup is terrible if you have a truck cause you have to park far away and walk like half a mile up to the main entrance behind the hotel. Also the room they gave us smelled terrible like smoke and the shower was only warm. I would not choose to stay here again.
Horrible experience, however I want to the bartender Shanea, who had an amazing attitude, personality, and was warm, and welcoming. The ONLY person who was nice to us the entire duration of my 5 night stay. I really hope your boss recognizes your worth, and what you bring to the table because you deserve a recognition especially when not one single other employee was kind to us.
Everything about our stay was great. The staff was friendly and accommodating, even when I extended my stay 3 different times (every day we thought we were going to check out, we decided to spend an extra day and see more of the city). Even though there was no breakfast, they did put out breakfast bags that included an assortment of breakfast foods (bananas, granola bar, muffin and water). We never had to wait long for the items we requested, every afternoon when we left, the staff would tell us to enjoy our day. The laundry services are free to all guests, which was a plus because we stayed 4 days longer than we originally planned. Everything we did in the city and the family we visited was within in 30 minute drive radius, so we were pretty central to everything. I will definitely be staying here in the future; between the friendly staff, the amenities and the room rate, I couldnt have asked for a better place to stay! My kids and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, thank you Hilton!
Ive stayed at this hotel multiple times and last night I had the most unpleasant check in- the receptionist refused to honor the online listing and charged me extra- then this morning I was charged an extra late check out fee of $100 which is the rate of a full day. I had already requested a late check out from the night before!!! Unacceptable- I am no longer staying at this hotel- terrible customer service. Beautiful place terrible service!
WOW !Not only is this an amazing facility with a great staff convenient to NYC on Metro North but we were completely blown away with the gracious generosity of the Staff Team after our recent stay - We had to check out just after midnight on the second night of our two day planned stay due to a medical emergency whereby we had to drive into Memorial Sloan Ketterings Urgent Care Facility - After things settled down for us I received and reviewed the check-out receipt and was overwhelmed to see that we were only charged for one of the two nights !Amazing and very appreciated !
Breakfast everybody talking the top of the food The eggs dry no good ✔️ the house clean coming open my door 8:30 in the morning 🌄 and the talk very very loud like theyre home they dont care for people sleepy its very disrespect ✔️ I pay $185 are you serious✔️ that need a better clean I have a water close to my bed like somebody drop 💧a glass water right there close to the 🛏️
Stayed here for four days this weekend and I had an incredible experience! The staff are very friendly and attentive, hotel is extremely clean! Paid for one room and the room we got had two rooms!! Perfect area as well, lots of stores and restaurants right in the plaza. Never had such a good experience at a hotel. Will definitely stay here again! Thanks Hilton :)
Floors were dirty..staff was very vague upon check in..hid behind wall had to ring a bell to find out system was down..should be out and about explaining the issue not hiding...no shampoo or lotion in the room of course I didnt bring extra because we are staying at the Hilton..never figured it would not be provided. Was tokd there is none in the whole hotel???? Table is in our room was dirty and bit cleaned from previous customer..very disappointed. However on a good note check in girl did provide us with a cork screw..so thanks to her for having an extra one.
Unfortunately I was scheduled to stay at the hotel tonight but broke down en route. Tried calling and put on hold for over 30 minutes with no answer. All I wanted to do was cancel since we are stuck at our current location. Instead we received a email saying we are being charged $188 and to contact Booking.com , just wanted to speak with a actual person to see if we could reschedule or explain the situation before being billed!!!
The whole facility is neat, clean and nicely decorated. The staff is amazing, attentive and take care of any issues right away. Christine went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. We are definitely coming back here and recommend this Hotel to everyone we know.
Um No, I literally asked one of the cleaning ladies to clean my room because they asked if wanted it... Anyways when I came back all my hair products were missing! I couldnt even do my hair the next day 🙄 either someone took my hair products or threw them in the garbage on purpose for no reason...........🙄
We stayed at the HILTON GARDEN INN in Dobbs Ferry, NY a few weeks ago during the Isaias’ Hurricane around NYS that resulted in a power outage in our home for over seven days. The hotel is VERY clean and the front desk Ladies are extremely friendly as well as accommodating. The hotel rooms are spacious and the maid kept it clean as well as supplied us with WHATEVER toiletries we needed on a consistent basis. The air conditioning worked well. The shower stall was extremely large too. The cable television had a NIIIIICE variety for any family or single individual looking to watch something for entertainment. A complimentary bagged Breakfast ( an apple, a bottled water, a fruit bar and a muffin ) was provided every morning due to the fact that the Buffet Breakfast had to cease due to the covid 19 epidemic. This saved us a few dollars for Breakfast every morning since we had to eat out for Lunch and Dinner every single day. We appreciated that SO MUCH! There were several and a variety of restaurants ( CHOP’T, Chipotle, a Sushi Place, a Burger Joint and a fancy-looking, Italian IF I RECOLLECT CORRECTLY Sit-Down restaurant) in our nearby, upscale mini mall to accommodate us displaced Westchester County Residents, who needed Lunch and Dinner daily. Additionally, the Inn is conveniently located near a Parkway that goes North and South making it easy to go Upstate or directly downtown to NYC in a matter of minutes . Forgive me because the Name of the Parkway escapes me! We took FULL ADVANTAGE of the Parkway as well. Lastly, there a Spa in the strip mall where One could get your eyelashes replaced or a massage to relax your body and mind. The REAL PLEASURE is that even though we knew that almost all of the hotel’s rooms were rented and the hotel was crowded, we NEVER saw the crowds nor interacted with a lot of hotel residents. Social Distancing was MOST DEFINITELY being practiced! We would MORE THAN LIKELY stay here again because we were extremely pleased with our experience!
Room was clean, quiet, nice mattress and furnishings. Staff is very nice however, customer service is limited.1. First morning our coffee maker was broken, called the front desk twice, let it ring over 11 times, no answer.2. Went to the front desk and told them about the coffee maker and they said they would send someone up. They didnt.3. That evening the coffee maker was cleaned up (I suppose by the maid). We thought it had been replaced, but the next morning it still didnt work.4. On our second morning we told the front desk (in person) that the coffee maker was broken. They made a note of it. No coffee maker for us, we had to leave at 10 AM on day 2. Luckily, there is a Starbucks nearby (lobby coffee is terrible).5. We ordered breakfast on morning one. Eggs, sausage, potatoes and toast for $8.75. No sausage in the box.
Service was excellent. The employees working the front desk were courteous, competent and helpful with all my questions and concerns. They really go above and beyond to help the guests. Rooms were like any standard Hilton hotel but cleaner. House keeping is on top of its stuff. The hotel is also in a prime location food and entertainment wise. Overall I’d have to say my stay was exceptional.
Very very clean hotel, pretty much spotless everywhere. The rooms are designed wonderfully and feel up to date. The workers here are very kind and welcoming, and the location is pretty decent in a small shopping center with an awesome movie theatre. The experience here has been better than some 4 and 5 star hotels Ive been too for triple the price here.
My partner and I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Dobbs Ferry for a friends wedding. It was a terrible experience. First, we attempted to book with the wedding block code, but somehow the website didnt register that. When we called to try to change it (weeks before the wedding), we were transferred in circles and eventually told we couldnt join the wedding block, but would get the breakfast vouchers. Since the price difference was minor, we were fine with that.Fast forward to check-in. First, we were assigned an OCCUPIED ROOM. We used the key to tap into the room, and the deadbolt was locked. Confused, we tried a couple more times. Then a male voice yelled out This isnt your room! YIKES! We went back downstairs and told the staff, who thankfully assigned us another room. That evening, we asked for the wedding party breakfast vouchers. We were told we could get them in the morning. In the morning, we were told that we couldnt get the breakfast vouchers. After much explaining, the hotel staff finally gave us each a $10 voucher. We ordered omlettes for $8.95. They were meh, but thats beside the point. When we checked out, we saw a $20 charge on our credit card for breakfast! Apparently, the vouchers were only good for scrambled eggs, not omlettes. When I called to provide feedback to the staff they blamed the Hilton call center for all the mix-ups, and me for apparently not reading the fine print on the breakfast vouchers. They assured me that customer service is their top priority. Ha.Ill be fair. The room was lovely, and kudos to the cleaning staff for keeping it spotless. The fruit salad was great. But we are never, ever staying here again.
ITS DISGUSTING! FIRST OFF WHEN WE ARRIVED FOR OUR CHECK IN THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS SO VERY RUDE. THEN, WHEN WE GO TO OUR ROOM THE DOOR WAS OPEN AND NOT CLEANED YET. IT WAS A BIG ISSUE AFTER! THEY GAVE US A NEW ROOM BUT NOT THE ONE WE BOOKED AT ALL. BUT THAT WAS OK. AFTERWARD WE NOTICED STAINS AND GUNM ON THE GROUND. DO NOT RECOMMEND! 👎👎👎😡😡😡😡
The customer service is extremely poor here. I got charged 3 separate times for a 1 night stay that was supposed to be $121 including taxes and fees. I will be calling the attorney general and consulting my attorney about whatever scam they have going on here to take peoples hard earned money!
My sheets had mildew stains on them. The pillow cases looked like they had an oil spills on them, but turns out the fabrics were sheer from being worn out in some spots more than others. When I called front desk it took a long time for my issues to resolved as there was only one attendant on duty managing the needs of everyone at the hotel.Ive never had to unpack and then pack everything up again at the same hotel to move to another room....I did this after having to drive 8 hours to the hotel. I am not a happy patron of your hotel. As a guest, I go a hotel to have a great experience and feel that my needs matter. This wasnt it.
My issue is with house keeping and the receptionist. I stayed during covid. the room appeared to be cleaned, however there were containers of left over food in the refrigerator which makes me question if the room was throughly cleaned or not and I didn’t see housekeeping my entire stay until checkout day. Also I was charged an additional fee of $253.56. When asked why, it was first stated that it was taxes and fees but the math still didn’t add up. Then I was told I was being charged for smoking when I do not smoke at all. Other than that, the hotel is conveniently located. Plenty of food options near by. The room is spacious and design is unique. It was my second and last time staying at this location.
This is my fourth stay.... and who could of thought they would progressively get worse. Im a Diamond member so Im pretty fluent at hotel stays. I was accused of fraud because I couldnt tell them the corporate card number. I was refused cold cereal as part of my free diamond meal because they were out, and when I pointed to the pile of cold cereal was told You can buy those. Smelled like sewage at arrival. Out of creamer again this morning... And the usual Good morning to go bags are discontinued. Between the rude staff, the mismanaged staff, the smell, the inept air conditioning, the rooms werent cleaned and missing towels... My team and I will be staying some place else. Such a shame as there is so many restaurants near by. (Yes, I called Diamond Help Desk as well)
I am a Diamond Member. And Ive stayed here at Dobbs Ferry maybe 6 times in the past year. And many other Hiltons. The Garden Inn is wonderful. Dont even think to stay anywhere else. Except next time I come here. Why? New manager or at least one I never met. The manager-argumentative and lazy.Dont know her name and dont care. Pity.Such a great hotel chain. The Hilton.
It was a good stay... Got my 2 complimentary bottles of water. It was weird though cause at other Hilton properties, they had additional bottles of water available. I had to buy extra bottles of water here... And a bit pricey for water... Front desk folks were hit or miss... My check in person was a sweetheart... The others were not as inviting... Another morning desk clerk seemed friendly...
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!! I can not say enough about this Hotel. We have stayed here the past two years while in NY to visit my Fiances Daughter. The front end staff are an absolute delight. Everyone that works there it seems in all departments are always pleasant and greet you with a friendly hello. The room attendants do a fantastic job, and even leave you a little thank you note for the tip. They definitely deserve this tip as we have never wanted for anything in this hotel. The front end let me get back to them. I dont want to get in to the details, but we had a little problem and needed to change rooms (unexpected guest). This took place at almost midnight, they handled this with the utmost courtesy and professionalism. The young lady working the front desk at this time was Tiniqua, she is an absolute joy to deal with. She handled this immediately and did not make us feel any way about it. She got us into another room asap. The young man Brandon that checked us in was just as warm and welcoming. The staff here are all sweet and ready to address any concerns, needs or questions you may have in a very professional and personable way. The resteraunts around here are amazing too and the train into the city is clean and enjoyable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in this area. We will be back.
We were there during a snow storm so we had to extend our stay by a few days. The first morning there we went down for a “bagged breakfast “ during the hours we were told only to get there and be told they were out of them and it would be impossible to get anything to eat because we were not charged for the food so they didn’t owe us anything. Also we always had to ask for towels or shampoo or anything else. No service was done without asking for it and when we did ask they always seemed to have forgotten something.
The HGI is a great hotel. It is new, clean and very comfortable. The lobby always has a water dispenser infused with fruit and vegetables, so nice! Brandon and Fatima at the front desk were welcoming and friendly. I was there for an extended period of time and appreciated the availability of the laundry room and it was free! Great choice in Westchester.
Overall our stay was okay. Not what I expected from a Hilton. The rooms were nice. The first time I called to inquire about my reservation the staff couldn’t find my reservation even though the room had been confirmed. I ended up calling my credit card company to see if the room was refundable since the staff didn’t know how to find my confirmed reservation. We stayed for 6 nights and the whole time during our stay only one of the elevators were working. Which the staff and guest shared. We ended up taking the stairs most of the time since it took too long for the elevator. Majority of the staff do not speak English. They do not vacuum the rooms daily. Some days our wash clothes and hand towels would be replaced other days not. The toilet paper is also rough. Probably the cheapest thing on the market. The beds are uncomfortable. The worst part was probably the shower. The water pressure is extremely low. I definitely will not be staying there again.
WAY over-priced for what it is. I had to change rooms because there was noise and vibration coming thru the wall behind the bed, from some pulsating loud machine. A hotel still under construction should have an appropriately discounted price, and should be advertised as still under construction, so that you can decide if u want to stay there BEFORE u make a reservation. The only good thing about the place were a couple of the staff members.
This property is GORGEOUS! The front desk staff is welcoming and gracious. The rooms are comfortable, clean and fresh. The restaurant needs alot of work. The servers are not clear on what the presentation of the food should be nor the timing. This I am sure is due in part to the cooking staff. No spoons with your coffee as well as no regard to business workers being on a time constraint. These being just a free of the issues. This is a brand new property and I realize that the restaurant is new however they need a professional staff to train them. This breakfast was not worth $17. I overheard several customers comment they will be back to stay but will be dining elsewhere
This Hilton is much nicer than most hotels Ive stayed at since covid. The matanance is really quite good for covid times. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The rooms are equipped with refigerators, microwaves, a kurig, modern TV with hdmi and many chanels. Modern, clean and not run down. It took like it was really inclusive before covid caused social distancing. The only negative points were, only one ice machine constantly worked 4th floor and coffee was not available until 6am and was usually gone by 3 pm. I have to be at work by 6am and I couldnt make afternoon ice coffee. Thats about it and those are minor problems, most people probably wont be affected by the coffee?
Large, clean rooms. Beautiful, spacious lobbies. Friendly, helpful staff - mostly.I just wish that house cleaning hadnt ignored my DND sign and banged loud, hard & long on my door at 2 minutes after check out time as if they were executing a warrant. Srsly? Not even a 15 minute grace period? I never even saw another guest. It wasnt a great way to end my visit and it startled me enough that I left items behind in my rush to leave. 30 hours later, my items were deemed never found. No. Im not impressed with housekeeping.
Although I previously had great experiences with Hilton facilities, I was very disappointed with the Westchester Dobbs Ferry Hilton Garden Inn for these three reasons: The first room we were assigned was not cleaned after the previous guests checked out. The noise from the air conditioner was so loud (I thought there was a lawn mower in the room!) it woke me up every time it cycled to cool air. Finally, even after requesting housekeeping service upon checking in and reminding one of the housekeeping staff who was cleaning the rooms on my floor, the service was never completed. These are the reasons for my one star rating.
I wouldn’t advise ANYONE to stay at this hotel....ever. I have been staying at Hilton’s exclusively for years and have never experienced such a poorly run hotel...ever. This is the FIRST time I arrived at a hotel, which I had a reservation, checked in prior and I’m a Hilton honors member for years, but when I got to the hotel (after sitting in 3 hours of snow traffic), I was told there were no more rooms. What an absolute disgrace. Imagine thst. They SOLD rooms to other walk in’s because of the delays all the communers experienced. I wasn’t the only one left stranded. The front desk clerk was inept. HE WAS THE ONLY PERSON THERE that worked for the hotel. There was no supervisor, manager!!!! He told us a “few rooms were out of order”. He said they were flooded and waste was lined in the carpets. After 45 min I said bring me to a “OUT OF ORDER” room. After waiting 45 minutes we got to the room and IT WAS FINE. The guy says “I have no idea that this room was ok because no one is here besides me”. Really???? Who operates a hotel like this????Again, I would NEVER stay at this hotel again and I will think twice about staying in a Hilton going forward. Absolutely disgusting experience I hope none of you ever go through.
They need to get their ish together. They lost alot of customers the night i was there. How do you hire a new employee and give him no support. #smh.... He was unable to make reservations. They lost allot of money. Please ensure your staff is trained. And if they are new, please give them way to contact management for help.
I love this hotel! Very modern and chic... It has a small indoor pool, and a beautiful lobby equipped with a bar! The beds are super comfy, and I love the sliding bathroom door. It is attached to a shopping /entertainment area. So my son and I enjoyed ipic theatres while we stayed here! This is my new favorite Hilton garden inn
Booked this hotel a week in advance for a one night stay. I am a Hilton honors member, and travel often. The first issue was finding the entrance to this hotel. Myself as well as two other patrons parked at the hotel but could not find the main entrance. We walked at like 10 min in the cold and snow before finally figuring out it was on the 2nd floor. No signage at all indicating that. Once inside, there was a gentleman in front of me, similar to myself he had booked his room about a week ago and was a Hilton honors member. He was told Sorry, I gave your room away I was feeling so bad for him, little did I know I would be told the same thing! I have probably stayed at 200 hotels and I have never had this happen. The front desk clerk was not helpful at all. All he kept telling me was I gave away your room, and no hotels in this area have availability ???? I was shocked. I was at the front desk for at least 30 min arguing with him and then finally he said I only have rooms left that are out of order So, I was desperate so I said Whats wrong with them? Figuring if the tv didnt work, or the shower, etc... I could deal. He tells me he has no idea ok. He takes me to an out of order room and guess what? It was in perfect condition, nothing wrong with it at all. I was so upset at this point but just so tired. So then I asked him how to book the complimentary shuttle as advertised on their website to the local train station. As he walks out, he goes There is no shuttle WOW. Truly the worst experience I have ever had at any hotel
Aweful experience this time around, hidden fees upon arrival they changed reservations and didn’t provide me the late check out as requested because I’m traveling for work and charged me $100 for a full day despite being 2 hours late for check out.Terrible customer service Fatima is super rude and was insulting my girlfriend on the phone about the fees and late check out, literally told us we can’t just do whatever we want and check out when we want. I specifically requested late check out like I always do. I will be filing a complaint to the attorney generals office and demanding the $100 be removed.Great place, but the people here are incompetent. I hate writing reviews like this, but I’m insulted by their arrogance especially when they see I go there a lot.
Hilton Garden Inn Dobbs Ferry, NYI have **NEVER** felt so unwelcome and been so humiliated in my life as I was upon visiting this hotel. Before I describe my unfortunate experience, let me start by saying that I am an experienced travel agent and multiple business owner.Ive orchestrated and utilized travel plans and stayed as guest in hundreds of hotels and resorts in every US state, as well as internationally with concentrated focus on Trans-Atlantic travel. However, upon checking into Hilton Garden Inn on Ogden Ave in Dobbs Ferry, NY; I experienced treatment that NO PERSON should ever have to endure.Around 6:30pm Saturday, April 25, 2020, I checked into your hotel.**The gentleman at the front desk was very polite, friendly and professional.**Regrettably, that was to be the only hospitable treatment I was to receive. His replacement later that evening, a woman that called herself Tiqua on several occasions, has embarrassed herself, as well as the entire Hilton brand in my opinion... (As well as the opinions of my colleagues whom have already heard of said womans disgraceful behavior.)After check-in, I had a few errands to run, so I returned to Hilton Garden Inn around9:55pm on 4/25/2020.I entered the building via the front entrance with my personal assistant; carrying bags and a cart.We were not greeted upon entering, but were followed to the elevator by the woman on duty.I almost didnt know who the woman was speaking to; as her harangue began yet was directed towards my back.I turned to find out why/who she was reprimanding. She began her tirade by saying:By the way.... Any *Parties or events* that we find out about will result in forceful removal..I was a little disoriented, and I asked her what event is the Hotel hosting?Teek-wuh continued her speech about events, and parties, and forceful eviction.I told her that I was not hosting any event, that my stay is private and only for 2 people. The woman goes on totally ignoring what I was informing her, and aggressively continuing about calling police and forceful removal!I felt almost unsafe and unsure as to TeKwas next move and I realized she was not going to end her one-sided argument, so I bid her: Good Night and continued to my room....all the while with that woman STILL reciting event policies to my turned back....Imagine being an essential business proprietor who has been away from home for almost 8 weeks delivering protective equipment, medicines, and food 7 days per week & 16 hours per day due to Covid-19... Finally on my way home, and the FIRST person I encounter is your rude and stereotyping night employee!!This was not imaginary, but openly hostile behavior!I had to encounter this same woman around 4:44 am early Monday morning for towels and water.I went over to the snack area and she initially told me the snack area was CLOSED.I walked over to the coffee station but the coffee was very cold and old.I needed to take my medication and had to beg this woman to make an exception to sell me the water; as I have a medical necessity. This was hands down the worst stay of my travel and logistical career!Signed,JLBInfo on file
I have stayed at this hotel several times in the last few weeks due to the location, but each week I have experienced a different issue. I would like to first say the employees are very helpful and accommodating; however I believe the Operations management team is not providing the team the resources they need to adequately service the staff and guest. On several visits I have not been provided wash clothes and hand towels when housekeeping serviced the room. The first incident the housekeeper left a note and said we dont have any wash clothes available. Then during that visit we would be left either 1 or no wash clothes for a double room. This is a first for a Hilton brand property. Now on this most recent visit, there still seems to be an issue with the wash clothes as they are not left or just one has been left in the room and we have to call the front desk late in the evening to get towels and wash clothes. Lastly the breakfast this past visit has been very disappointing as many of the items are not in stock and the bread and pastry seem a bit stale. You can definitely see the difference between a franchise Hilton and a corporately owned one.
Looking for a consistent Hilton experience? Dont come here.I have stayed here three times now. A new hotel that is well decorated with quality finishings. A step above most Hilton Garden Inns.BUT YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN. Will the room you receive be ready for check in? Will the cleaning be finished when you enter the room? Will trash be cleared or left overnight in the hallway? Will the restaurant be open for breakfast at 6:00 AM or will you be told the staff just didnt show up and nothing can be done? If all you want to do is get into a room and close your door for the night, chances are that will happen (eventually). If youre looking for something closer to a full service hotel experience, DONT RISK IT. You might be able to get what youre looking for....and maybe not. Ive stayed in about 65 Hilton brand hotels so far this year, and this one is the one consistently off brand in terms of some basic expectations on each visit. This hotel has potential to be a great option but QUALITY CONTROL needs to be imposed first--by the chain. Not sure local management is up to it.Show less
Weve stayed here several times while visiting family in Dobbs Ferry.. Its clean and professional but, I was surprised and disappointed that in July, the pool was still closed and masks were required in the lobby as well as the dining room was not open besides a pre-ordered breakfast, which had to be ordered by 8:30am. Very different than our previous 2 nights at a different Hilton property
A hidden Hilton Garden Inn located in Dobbs Ferry Rivertown Square. The lobby was spacious and immaculate, really deceiving from the outside. The room was beautifully designed, having just enough furniture to not overwhelm the living space. The bed was nice and firm which was a huge plus. With a hotel this close to NYC and breakfast included, you really cant go wrong.#Update 9/19/2021Down grade my review due to a recent poor experience. The bedding, specifically the pillows need to be upgraded. Our sleep was absolutely horrible for 2 days. Also, the included breakfast for being a diamond member is almost embarrassing. Yes they offered a free breakfast but the never got the orders right and they only have 3 options. Wasnt even worth contacting them during our visit.
Huge modern rooms, and also big and very comfortable beds. The only two flaws were breakfast, which is quite poor (very little options, and orange juice and pastries were really bad); and the second flaw was the guy at reception, unwilling to call to a taxi made me install both uber and lyft to avoid calling one by himself. Anyway, great experience overall.
The worse Super Bowl Sunday of my life. As a Diamond member-8 years straight and counting....Were enjoying the game at a table after eating, and while we are in the midst of the game and beers, we are asked to vacate the table where three of us are sitting (and buying) so that one person could sit for 15 minutes. Tried to explain about capacity, but they could make no sense. Worse Hilton I ever stayed and since I make the reservation for my soldiers, I will not be staying here again.....neither will my soldiers/colleagues.
This review has been a long time coming (a year exactly)! My family and I stayed here for about a month(!) after we moved to Dobbs Ferry. This is a brand new hotel and we were the first inhabitants, and, at the time, they were still working out their kinks. For example, they advertised a hotel shuttle to metro north, but sadly they did not have that up and running so my husband had to take an uber to metro north every morning, which wasnt ideal. They also boasted a pool but truth be told, it was not ready for use, which was disappointing, especially for my kids. I spoke to Christine Zipparo who is the director of Sales at the Hilton and she was sympathetic and responsive. She followed up with us about our stay a couple of weeks later and even offered a few gift certificates at local restaurants, which was very much appreciated.Staying at a hotel for a month with school age kids, living out of suitcases, is not easy! This was at the tail end of the summer so our kids started school while we were in the hotel! On the first day of school the front desk receptionist wished my kids a good first day at school. When we returned, she was there asking them how their first day at school was. Very sweet. The adjustment to Dobbs Ferry and to a new school was made easier with a hot breakfast at the hotel restaurant every morning. Our kids loved the DIY waffle bar. The wait staff remembered my husbands preference for soy milk with his cereal every morning. I wish I remembered everyones names because they were all very kind and professional and took good care of us. The hotel is situated in a shopping complex with a few family friendly restaurants nearby, which made it much easier for us. The hotel amenities are top of the line. I had to use their conference room a couple of times for work, which worked out beautifully. Everything was brand new so there was no gross factor anywhere. What stands out the most to me is the ways in which the hotel started to feel like home: from the warm greetings in the morning, the hot breakfast, the same pizzeria guy from Lombardos that delivered to our room every week, and even the comical house cleaning staff who arranged my kids stuffed animals in peculiar positions ;-) I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Westchester. In fact, we did! Our family is coming to visit in a couple of months and will be staying there as well. Thank you Hilton Garden Inn!
I had an absolutely AMAZING stay here. It started off very lack luster, the receptionist seemed to not be interested in me, nor my diamond status with the Hilton brand. It almost felt as if I was bothering her. After a quick trip to my room, I came down and decided to get a quick drink from the bar. This is where everything changed for the better. It started with the bartender(who I found out later was filling in). She was a great conversationalist and very attentive. She individually took this from a 3 star review to a 4 star. I forget her name (but she has a tattoo that reads spicey.)Then comes the food and beverage supervisor Leadre Nunez-Malcolm. She followed up on the young Ladys service. Then she took the time to explain to me that the hotel was recently opened and how she was there the entire process. We spoke about how much she enjoys her job and looks forward to growing. She made me feel welcomed and like part of the Hilton Family. She took this review from a 4 to a 5.Hilton, you have a great team there in your food and beverage department... You may want to check your receptionists at this location, literally my worst check in experience to date with your brand.

This review is for Christine (sales) and Dynasia. I would write on Trip Advisor but I am only allowed one, which went to Edward. Both of these women made my stay extremely enjoyable. Truly, they made me want to stay longer. They went the extra mile, price matched, and both had a sense of humor coupled with elegegant class.Highly recommend. If you stay at this hotel, ask for either one of them. They will take care of all your needs.
Aliceea Scott is the most friendly, helpful and amazing receptionist ever, so lovely and a perfect great first impression of hotel. The staff were just lovely. The lady in charge of housekeeping was courteous and very professional. I was very pleased with my stay, and although short and sweet this time, I hope to be back for a longer visit in the future.Hilton garden inn in Donna ferry NY should be used as an example for perfect hospitality!
This Hilton Garden Inn is one of the best Hilton brand hotels of any level I have stayed at. The sales manager Christine and front desk staff (Alicea) have both been extremely accommodating. The rooms are new, clean, spacious, and well lit. The hotel sits in a newly built plaza with food options and a movie theater. There is always plenty of covered parking as well. Nothing but positive things to say about this HGI and I would recommend to anyone staying in the area.
Several months ago we arranged to have out of town guests for our wedding stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Dobbs Ferry that was scheduled to open in early June. We had a signed agreement. We were ASSURED that the hotel would be open well before our wedding weekend in July. About two weeks before our wedding, our guests were notified that 1) their reservations were to be cancelled because the hotel would not be opening on time and 2) THEY would have to call to cancel their own reservation and find a new place to stay!We were NOT directly notified by Hilton at all (we found out from one of our guests) and so our guests were making alternate reservations at various hotels. Now our guests are not staying in the same place which completely alters our plans for the weekend. Additionally, they did not get a discounted rate that we had arranged with Hilton. I am appalled at the complete lack of professionalism and respect for us as customers. Christine Zipparo, you were happy to take reservations for our wedding, but then failed to communicate with us about the change in plans, or make any sort of apology to us directly. No one has offered to remedy our inconvenience. You have effectively ruined part of our wedding weekend and we will not soon forget that.Hilton, what kind of business are you running these days?
Brand new hotel that is stylish and immaculate.Update: Unfortunately, the weekend kitchen staff is less than enthusiastic. Saturday, I waited 15 minutes for the buffet eggs to be refilled. A pregnant woman told me she was there waiting for 5 minutes before I arrived. Sunday was slow getting started with the food not out until 7:05, at any other Hilton property I’ve stayed, the food is up to 15 minutes early (starts 6 AM weekdays - 7 AM weekends)I wont let this stop me from staying at this lovely hotel.
Worst hotel booking experience ever. Booked a room 3 weeks ago for my sisters who were coming in from out of town. 4 days before their arrival hotel calls me to tell me that there were no rooms because of construction and I would have to find another hotel. And on top of that, I had to call Hilton to cancel the reservation myself even though it was Hilton who was cancelling on me!!! Called Hilton and was told that they couldnt cancel because I had booked a nonrefundable room through Expedia. Hilton rep refused to transfer me to or even give me their customer service department phone number because he didnt have it! When I asked for my Expedia reservation number because couldnt find my confirmation email, he refused to give it to me. When this hotel does open, theyll never get my business!!!

2022-06-12Great little escape from the city. Shops nearby close early but there is plenty to do during sunlight. Plenty of parking available and hotel has a restaurant and bar as well as a convenience store. Room was quite and clean and contained a keurig for coffee which was a plus. Breakfast was also included. Will definitely stay again.

2022-04-04This was a very pleasant stay. The hotel was pleasing to the eye, the room was good, the service was pleasant and the location was ideal. There were a few restaurants and other stores around that were close enough to walk to. I will definitely use this hotel again.

2022-06-14Positive: Very nice, clean hotel with friendly, helpful, professional staff.Negative: Low-flow shower heads, “on request” housekeeping (excuse was “Covid” - more real is cost-cutting), $10 daily meal credit rather than free breakfast (and their Continental breakfast costs $12).
