Hippodrome Parking Edison ParkFast in New York
Excellent parking garage. Competitive parking prices for Midtown Manhattan, especially if you take advantage of specials like the early bird (in by 10am). Reasonable monthly rates. This is one of your best bets for garage parking in midtown if you drive a motorcycle or scooter, though you will pay car prices unless you go with monthly parking. What sets this place apart most is the friendly, courteous staff. The manager is always professional and welcoming, the attendants are careful and fast, and everyone is helpful. There are also automated payment machines so you can get in and out quickly.
3 weeks ago my entire back windshield was shattered and damage was done to my car At this lot for over 1100 dollars. So I put in a claim for expenses associated with the repair. I was promised reimbursement from a damage claim company that associates with this joke of a company called fortis risk in Garden city, NY. I have yet to be reimbursed for the damages that I was forced to pay for out of pocket that this lot caused me. The manager, who goes by JP decided that giving me a non working number for the regional manager and ceasing to respond to my request for help via call and text on the matter was the way to handle their incompotent attendants damaging someones vehicle. Dont park here. This company is shady. Their customer service is the worst. If you value your car and your money please dont ever park in any one of their facilities. If damage is done to your car they will not do the right thing.
We had a very negative and arrogant behavior from the Valet who parked my car.Our trip to New York was great and joyful until we came back to get our car out of parking garage. The Valet person behaved arrogant to us since we checked out our car by 5 pm which was 3hrs earlier than what we said to him. We parked our car by 8 am and when the Valet asked us when we would come back we said mostly by 8 PM, but since my kid was tired we finished our sight seeing by 5pm and wanted to head back home. The valet person was so arrogant that he drove my car with no care in high speed and shouted at us for being early to get my car and when we were ready to depart my cars truck was open and he in the name of helping banged it very hard and shouted GO at us which made me feel so sorry for his poor behavior.
Great experience! Desk and manager were both very helpful and friendly!Went on Dec. 5th, arrived around 2 and and left around 11! Didnt take long to get in or out! Would definitely recommend for day parking! We purchased parking a head of time for the same business but not this specific garage. The specific garage was full and this place accepted our voucher and gave us no problem at all!
So grateful to the wonderful staff at Edison ParkFast. My boyfriend lost his wallet while we were on a weekend trip in NYC and it really put a damper on the weekend. When we returned home he got a call from Chris Burns who found his wallet. We are SO grateful for his honesty and the time he took to call and let us know he found it. Chris Is ABOVE and BEYOND. The service and efficiency and location and pricing of this garage is fantastic. We bought a prepay from park wix and were leery since we were coming from out of town. It could not have been easier and quicker. Dont hesitate this is an AWESOME clean and wonderful garage convenient and close to Times Square. BOOK IT! Thank you so much to the wonderful staff at Edison Car ParkFast!
Do not EVER park with these guys , they are scammers of the lowest order. I had to be in midtown 2 nights in a row. On December 15 I paid online ahead of time I parked no problem but when I came back to get my jeep a few hours later the rude attendant INSISTED my Jeep Liberty is an oversized vehicle and wanted an additional $20 for it . He REFUSED to stamp my ticket until I paid him $20. After a long argument I finally got a manager who said the guy was totally wrong and my Jeep was NOT oversized and that its right on there website what is and isnt . Clearly the first guy was trying to scam me out of $20. The next night was WORSE. When I went to get my jeep there were already 4 women there in mid argument . NOW Edison Park said Park Whiz was not online ( Park Whiz is their online agency that lets you pay ahead of time online )THEREFORE we all had to pay the FULL $25 FEE AGAIN .. and we would have to try to get our money back from Park Whiz. Within 10 minutes there were a dozen people there and NO ONE WAS GETTING THEIR CAR BACK UNLESS THEY PAID THE WHOLE FEE AGAIN . There was a near riot there and I called NYPD. Finally one attendant hearing that I called the cops said he would one by one stamp tickets and give people their cars back . These guys are crooks and scam artist..DO NOT EVER EVER EVER put your car there because they will find a way to try to squeeze you for extra money and hold you car ransom. I will report them to the NY Better Business Bureau.
Rip Off. Ill NEVER park here again. l drove a lowered A4 wagon into this garage, during early bird pricing on a weekday, which should be, according to their sign, $26. However because I have a roof rack on my lowered car, that makes it an suv apparently. You learn something new everyday. Whats the upcharge on the SUV I now drive, you might ask? An additional $20. Thats right, it was more expensive then parking in the self park luxury of being right at the tunnel Port authority garage. I wasted time in traffic, had to hand over the keys for someone else to park, plus the time it took debating this preposterous policy with the assistant manager who said, Yup, SUV. Lesson learned, park at Port authority. These guys are thieves. Theres zero justification for the upcharge. This isnt a garage that vertically stacks cars in which my roof rack was prohibiting or occupying usable real estate. If that were the case, Id understand. This is a garage that is non stacked, ground parking only. A real SCAM they got going.
The parking is clean including the bathroom (on the first floor. As for the key st the desk). I’d recommend to use some of the online paid website. I personally used ParkWhiz and it worked just fine and it was couple dollars cheaper than at the gate. For the online paid pass you’ll need to use the iPads st the desk and not the automatic machines. I had an issue while exiting the parking and one of the staff members was very helpful (the machine at the exit wanted me to an additional $2 for I don’t know what reason).
Assistant Manager (Fredua Dankwa Jr.) Refused to pull up my car on time or even take my valet ticket stub, because my spouse decided to use the restroom at the facility. Very rude and unwelcoming environment. Manager also stood by to assist in the nonsense. Never have I been so embarassed, customers behind me waited in line while the assistant manager continued to ignore my numerous requests to pull up my vehicle. This is not how business should be conducted. Situations like these cause inconvenience to the customer and make your branch location look incapable of conducting simple duties.
Went to this garage because they advertised $22 for all day parking. When I went to pay they charged me an extra $20 saying my suv was oversized. It is a Honda Pilot. They dont tell you its an extra $20 for suvs until you pay and they show you a sheet of about 30 plus suvs they consider oversized. I felt ripped off and they didnt care.
In terms of monthly parking inquiry handling, they probably dont deserve a star. They ask for credit card #, but dont answer to basic question such as what is your name? Not only that, the whole conversation is dictated by his series of questions. I felt more threatened than comfortable. Glad I did not sign up with them.
Rates are reasonable for Manhattan. Not clearly marked as an Edison ParkFast joint. Lowish rating because one of the attendants was snarky about having to move ONE car to free up our car, because we returned earlier than expected. He repeated his frustration with the situation several times. Yep
Nobody was there when I went to pick up my car and I ended up having to come back to the city get my key. They never left the key in the car. Only reason I was able to drive off was because of the spare my wife had. Text them to have the car in the front and no car was present.
The facility is a good location, clean and efficient. The people who work there are very rude and go out of the way to be unhelpful. I have a medical condition and needed some assistance, I was treated very poorly. The only time someone was attentive was to receive the tip money.
Horrible rude valet person!!!! I called ahead and asked if we could leave our bags in the car and come back for them later and the telephone operator assured me it wouldnt be a problem. NOT the valet guy! Basically told us to get our S*** and get out and we were not allowed to come back later for it. Wont ever use them again!
This was the best place to park on 44th! We accidentally went into every parking place on this street and this was honestly the nicest one! If you looking for parking I really recommend coming here! Staff is courteous and extremely nice! They care about your car and will park it for you! Thanks guys ❤️
Worst customer service. I parked the car and the person taking care started scolding. When i am back for taking the car, my car had dirt all over the place and i asked about it. He said excuse me did i do this and started behaving very bad.. Very worst attitude, no concern for customer satisfaction.. Will never visit this place again..

2022-01-23This was the worst experience ever. We used spot hero and reserved from 1pm to 1 am. We arrived 12:50 and left 5 pm. The line to get on was long which is why we got on it and took the ticket. We paid spot hero :25 dollars and the parking garage refused to give us our car unless we paid another $24 because we were 10 min early. Even after we explained what happened the manager was extremely rude and said she wouldn’t do anything unless we paid. Do not use this garage!

2021-12-20Terrible experience. Waited over 30 minutes for an attendant to acknowledge and help us. I had a 7 week old baby and 1 year old with me. I asked to use the bathroom since I couldnt wait any longer and had to change their diapers and the guy gave me a huge attitude saying no. 10 people went ahead of me and I complained several times that there must be a glitch because I prepaid ahead a week prior. I checked out downstairs and got my ticket etc. For whatever reason, my number still wasnt coming up. Again, no one tried to help me until there was about 10 more people waiting for their cars. I then had no choice and had to uncomfortably breastfeed in public. FINALLY my car was retrieved and we received no apology.

2022-02-13Dont waste your time here. I spent 2 hours just waiting for an attendant to get my car. The line of other people waiting to get their cars was ridiculous as well. Everyone was grumpy, understandably. They need a better system because obviously this one is not working.

2021-09-07My adult son had to go back to the car to pick something up and found our car was covered in dust an dirt because some drilling job done above. At our return the charge was $31 for about 2 hours. I told the cashier that I will not pay until I see the car to make sure everything was OK. We had to wait about 10 minutes and got finally charged $44. We could see that the car was partially cleaned. When I complained we got fierce bullying an verbal attacks, insults, etc. from the cashier and all the attendants. Worst service I have ever experienced. The arrogance was without presedence. Instead of working in the service industry those guys should be working in a coal mine.

2021-07-15This garage used to be one of the best in Midtown. I used it dozens of times pre-pandemic when I decided to drive to the office instead of taking the train. They get an a star just for past performance, otherwise it would be zero. But in the last couple times I’ve been there, the service has been incredibly slow and super rude. Today will be the last time I ever park there as when I pulled up this morning, I moved into the usual lane that I’ve always been directed to. There were cones for the waiting area, but I was able to pull behind a vehicle (as I’ve been told to many times before) and was no where near the cones nor blocking the key station. I’m standing outside my car, ticket in hand, waiting for an attendant, while other cars drive by in the left lane - which they are usually told NOT to do since it is two way traffic.I walk a little and see a small sign way at the end telling cars to pull up and around. Not near the actual entrance, not near where the first “park here” sign is. Way down at the bottom. An attendant, an older shorter man who I know has worked there for years, sees me standing by my car and literally turns around and walks away. After I had walked down the drive and finally saw the sign, a younger short man with dark hair sees me and says “miss?” I tell him that I pulled up to where I was because that’s what I’ve ALWAYS been told to do. He says I was supposed to drive down, and it was obvious to everyone, and clearly they were full. Well, clearly it wasn’t clear since I was able to easily stop my car in the same area I’ve always been told to. While he was even examining my vehicle, another car tried to stop where you always stop and he just yelled at them “no drive down.”But it wasn’t the misunderstanding, or the lack of clear signs, directions, or sufficient staff. It was his absolutely rude attitude to me. His voice was filled with disdain, he didn’t even acknowledge that they could use just one more sign closer to the entrance. I didn’t yell, or scream, or curse at him. He just blamed me and blew me off. I always tip, I’m always polite, even when I have to wait (and I was standing around for five minutes before anyone acknowledged me), but I know customer service having worked in retail throughout college and high school. And this place has gone down hill remarkably so.There are plenty of other options in the area, and I will never park here again.

2021-04-14Literally the WORST parking garage in NYC. I’m a monthly customer and EVERY time I come to get my car they have lost the car or have to manually recreate the ticket. They NEVER get the car in advance when you call for it in advance online. I just waited for my car for an entire hour and escalated to the manager and watched as his employees refused to resolve the matter. Outright insubordination. Do not trust your car with this operation. After the manager told me it would be another 25 minutes to get my car since his employee refused to do what he told him to do to resolve the matter, I had to run out without my car because I was already late for my appointment.

2021-09-02I was visiting a store nearby when my son went back to find that workers were drilling and thousands of pieces of rough concrete were hitting my rental cars paint. When I went to demand an explanation, they increased the price from 31 to 43 dollars for no apparent reason and started insulting me and my family all the way out to the exit. Disgusting!

2020-12-10I do NOT recommend you to come here if you have important things to attend to after retrieving the car.Today I stood in the same spot and waited for 1 hour 20 minutes before my car was retrieved.Poor service and incessant whining for me coming earlier than projected time to pick up the vehicle. Impossible experience.
