I went on Desi Saturday night, Horrible waiting line and then you get frisked at entrance. For entry, Its 20$ cash only and 4$ mandatory Coat check-in. Everyone had to check in coat!! Then comes venue, It was very nice thats the only reason I gave 3 stars. Drinks are too costly, small water bottle in freaking $7. Hukkah is $45. $45.Ove a decent night with okayish crowd.Note- Make sure you do not street park in no standing anytime zone even though other cars are parked. Mine was towed had to pay $300. Be alert while parking.
This was the worst event ever In history When we where on line people where skipping security was not organized Security didn’t even check our tickets to see if we where VIP There was a woman on line super sloppy pants sagging butt crack showing and she was spitting up all over herself security did nothing When we finally made it up stairs there was no room to walk let alone dance The bartender ignored us after several attempts of trying to get her attention and she wasn’t serving anyone at the time She also didn’t let us know before we cracked open bottle of Poland spring water that it would cost 10$ and a cup of water is free
Came here for NYE party. Utter chaos and the terms on the tickets were changed at venue. No one cared or wanted to listen to. Avoid and go to a better lounge/party. Bar refused to serve drinks until tips were given first. Some floors had prerecorded music instead of live DJ.
Great place and environment. Music is unbelievable good and you dont feel the crowded feeling like in other places became the ceiling is so high that the air can circulate. It has a nice view of the stage from everywhere. There are 3 different bars so in that order you everything moves at a fast pace. Definitely recommend this place.
Went to HK last night for the Halloween event. Line wrapped around the block multiple times and was very very slow to get in. When we finally got in the music was pretty trash, not going to lie. The DJ was playing only Spanish music on Halloween lol. Probably should’ve stuck to more popular dance/pop and rap songs that were in English— and I’m saying this as a Hispanic lol. Atmosphere was not worth the price we paid at 50-60$. Skip this spot.
Poorly managed, over packed and kind of a scam. If you pay for VIP, they promise all night access to the rooftop area which they control via a colored wristband. Throughout the night, they change the wristband color they give out at the door and say old wristbands are now meaningless for the rest of the night. This keeps you from accessing the roof unless you go there and immediately and stay there.Gross to see how they sell VIP tickets they have no intention to fulfill, and then treat you poorly as you get caught in their predatory rules.Recommend avoiding this place at all costs.
Worst NYE experience, the organizers could not stand to there promises, no appetizers were given when asked to anyone of them they replied we dont know or they were just for VVVIP but balldrop.com had promised something else. Spoiled My NYE, If you ever wanna spend a bad NYE in New York please do visit this place Highly recommended.
2nd to last stop on tour with Mago de Oz fall 2021. Compact yet well managed and equipped music venue. Elevators and stairs to serve the 2nd floor with well stocked bars on both floors, and a large dance floor front center of the stage first floor. Restrooms upstairs only though the elevator makes it easy to get there. Parking in Hells Kitchen is a bit hard to find so show up early and plan ahead.
Stage 48 is one of the popular clubs in the midtown area because of the various events they host all year long. Its a 2 floor dance club with the DJ station at the upper deck. The ambience and crowd is great, with decent music and not so expensive (not too cheap either) bar counter. The collection of alcohol served at the bar counter is pretty good, be mindful that the bills at the counter pre-include a 20% gratuity. The club is pretty popular for a few events like the NYC halloween parade after party, holi (Indian festival of colors) parties in March/April, Saturday Bollywood desi nights and others. I have found the music played pretty good but the place often gets crowded and becomes cramped at the dance floor. The Stage 48 recently started hosting Saturday Desi Bollywood nights every week. They are the only club in NYC which hosts this event and was previously hosted by Lexicon. The collection of Bollywood songs played was pretty great but after sometime the DJ begins to repeat which I wish they didnt do. They also include some Bhangra/Punjabi songs sometime late at night around 1am paired with some high energy drums performance. The event has a $20 cover and is worth it if you really enjoy dancing to Bollywood music. I recommend this event, especially if you are there with a group of friends.Note: There is no cover for women if you enter the line before 11pm for Saturday Desi Bollywood nights. They get a complimentary drink too.Overall the club is worth visiting with a group of friends for a few select events like Desi Bollywood nights, but can get crowded at the dance floor.
We bought tickets a week in advance for the Halloween party. We had to wait in line for literally 1.5 hours and the checking was very disorganized. The party was advertised as a reggeaton party but less than 50% of the music was reggeaton, and the reggeaton they played was not the hot new stuff. It was the basic old stuff. The club was very hot and crowded and the drinks were expensive. Would not recommend.
I was at this club venue for a “meet-up/joe fair”. Despite that minor detail, it’s a nice place for clubbing, partying.- has upstairs with seating;- staffs were super friendly and helpful from coat check to the bar;- the only caveat- Men’s room has a strange and awful layout.
Been here many times but yesterday was different from any other time I went. It was my friend’s bachelorette. And to our surprise it was Bollywood beats night too which was like icing on the cake for our bride is a big fan of desi music. Had a blast. Was little crowded though.
I enjoyed myself. I was able to sit if I wanted to. There are plenty of bathrooms and the staff is great (especially bathroom attendant) the bar is very pricey but the drink was very good. The music sounds was awesome the lighting was awesome and I honestly would go again.
Garbage mandatory coat check policy, amazing venue. The event I had tickets for got rescheduled here. I was Immediately frisked, then my bag was searched, then they announce that all coats and bags must be checked at 4 dollars PER item. No exceptions. Security pointed to a sign and indicated that all this was posted. True enough, but its a little late once you’ve already purchased tickets and arrived at the event, wouldn’t you agree? Disgraceful.Okay, still the venue is pretty sweet though. Maybe REALLY good, so I’m giving it three stars for the 8 bucks they ripped off from me with that coat check thing. Otherwise 5 stars easily. Yea, I got a policy too. Its one less star per every 4 dollars extra you charge me.Maybe just go in the Summertime.
Awesome venue to party your butt off! 2 floors to party and huge dance floor. They host great djs and always provide a hype atmosphere! The place is spacious enough to host a ton of people but still have room to move around which is great. Plus theyre open until 4am which is also awesome.
This club has a reputation for hosting niche parties with a targeted crowd, which seems to work out pretty well. The three stars are because I have mixed feelings about the place. The Venue is great, mostly good staff, well maintained common areas, okay service (the bar wait time is pretty long), and the sound and ligting is a little better than mediocore but I didnt appreciate the what they served; it seemed as if though they poured cheap drinks from expensive bottles which is not fair as the drinks prices are high. What I dont like about this place is how they organise it, the promoter seems to focus on just one type of a crowd at a time which makes it boring. A diverse crowd would definitely help create a better vibe. It seems the club has a lot of potential but I guess you should see for yourself.
Stage 48 is a big building with five different clubs inside. Make sure you know which line goes to the club you want. Some of the clubs have a cover fee, and some dont. I went to the rooftop club. The music was great. They offer hookah. The drinks are not worth the price. The bartenders are friendly. I recommend going with at least six other people.
I want to purchase tickets for David Bisbal appearance on October 17, 2021; but its General Admission; yet tickets are priced at different levels. So, why the General Admission when all the tickets are the same, but with different price tags. Please explain prior to me purchasing tickets for $169 vs $69. Thanks
We bought tickets for new year party it was Bollywood night party. DJ was great and playedMixed of new and old song.Had a great time with friends. They did not have much option for food. It’s is located in New York so yeah it was really crowded specially 1st and 2nd floor. You could hardly get space to stand. Overall it was fun night and good place for party with friends.
Would not recommend if you want to have fun. Worst organized program Ive ever been. Been waiting till almost 11 in the night. For a party which should have opened at 10. When the time came to get in, the guy says its a non casual event, although he saw me the whole time waiting. Better spend your money and time in other places in new york where you can have fun.
Way below expectation. The choice of songs was pathetic. Then there was repetition of songs quite often. Bollywood is all about music and how in the world DJ couldnt give a good music platform. I enjoyed being there only cause I had good company of my friends and I love dancing.I would not recommend this place to anyone for sure.
Rude staff! The moment we walked in was a negative because they grabbed my clutch out of my hand, opened it, then SLAMMED it down on the table before frisking me. I was honestly concerned that my phone screen would be cracked. Luckily it wasn’t. Then we go upstairs and they have a mandatory $4 coat check per item with a nasty attitude about it. We were literally barked at with orders for the first 10 minutes of the experience. Open your jacket, open your clutch, wear different shoes, check the coat, pay the ticket. Not a single please or thank you was uttered— just unpleasant. Overpriced cover and drink prices. I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 because we still had a good time with the music, but why would I spend my money there instead of a cheaper place with nicer staff who don’t try to break my phone?
Came here for Desi Saturday one weekend. Had a good time, the wait was not long for us since we had a group of ten. Cover was about $20 per person and mandatory cost check was $4 per person. The DJ was good. There was ole ty of street parking right out front, just read the signs carefully as certain places you cannot park.
I guess your experience depends on the night you go because I had an amazing time there last night. Its a club!! So have your pockets ready for the drink prices. We spent $600 on three bottles and about 15 of us had a great time with those. My husband invited some guys a drink and they ended up blowing some money on more bottles and invited all of us. Want to have a great time? Help other people have a great time. If it had only been the four of us we might not have had as good of an experience. Whoever complains about their experience here simply didnt drink enough. We got in with a promoter and he helped us have a great time throughout the night ( thanks Danny 👌🏻). The lady who took our bottle order was super friendly and made sure she poured every one of us a drink before walking away. She forgot me and as soon as she noticed she apologized to me and went back and poured me a drink. They clean up every single spill as soon as they noticed. There were about four fight by where we were, but idk how the securities stopped them almost before they started. They bother a lot when it comes to you standing in the way when you are coming in or out. They literally tell you to go in and get out. This didnt bother me at all and I did not find it rude. I have been to clubs where you have nowhere to walk through when youre trying to go outside or come inside and this was certainly not a problem here and I loved it. If you explain to them why you are standing they will listen to you. They will point you to where you could do your standing at and also will explain to you why you cannot stand there. If you consider this rude then you do not enjoy being in a club where you could easily walk where you want to. There is such a great vibe in this club. Someone who worked there I believe would walk around and ask if everything was okay and if we were all having a great time. The hookah guy was very nice and very honest. I gave him $40 and he was supposed to give me change but didnt have on him at the moment. He apparently forgot and didnt remember if he had given me change so he walked back to me and asked me if he had given me my change yet. We did not pay for VIP so I am not describing a VIP experience.
I liked the venue a lot, the layout, the atmosphere, only enhanced by whomever is playing there on a night. :D Good acoustics, great sound system, clean - or as clean as possible during events, no line to use the bathrooms, and generally very friendly staff.A couple minor things that bug me: The lack of controlling people blocking up the stairwell where the exit is one, as getting upstairs/downstairs from the ground floor became impossible at the event I went to... the second is that IMO $6 for water is outrageous - irrespective of the reason, when dancing around, or whatnot, water - and staying hydrated - is a pretty big necessity. >_< Last thing that bugs me: Dont get pissy if during the search to get in I spread my arms out - some people are just used to having to do that at other events, not trying to make it more difficult or anything.
Very over priced drinks and way to personal with the body search on entrance.Nice two story venue with a large dance floor and bars on each level. The bathrooms are very clean but only on bye top floor.I was presently surprised that the sound system was also very good. A bit loud for my taste but not distorted.
UPDATE: I went there for another event and it was really good, the bouncer was funny, good music and just fun. OLD: The bouncers are friendly enough, it was easy to get inside, the entrance fee for the silent disco was more then what they said it would be on the phone of course. theres several floors of clubs in this building so take your pick.
Awful experience to say the least! When purchasing tickets for a concert we were looking to buy some sort of pleasant experience for a friend of ours for her birthday. VIP tables varied in price ($400 and $500). By the time we have solidly decided to attend the event $500 tables were sold out. How much less of a VIP experience will you get for $100??? Turns out a lot! Bottle service was a must. Fine - $275 bottle of Jameson sounds crazy, but its a club. We had no view, and whenever we tried to approach the balcony to catch a glimpse of a performer - we were told by a security that that was a VIP table and we should not enter a private area!?!??!? I was shocked! The rest of the night we spent at the very end of the general admission floor... Once the concert was over we were rudely told that we need to vacate the premises! We still had drinks, but we were hushed out by guards like little children! Outside the guards continued to disrespectfully kick us out. This was the worst experience ever for the insane amount of money! DO NOT EVER BUY ANYTHING VIP from stage 48. We would have been so much better off with general admission and would ave saved sooooo much money!
Interesting venue, with one huge dance area that is 3 levels. Would have liked to have seen it with a band rather than a DJ. For those looking for less noise they do have a rooftop area that is covered with some outside access if you want to cool off or get away even more.
Ooooommmmmggggg amazing experience we had. Really really a great one. Djs were amazing se danced on tons of Indian songs. And it was out of the world. The atmosphere was crazy, so many people. It felt like I was in Indian club and dancing back in India. Hell lot of fun. Really really enjoyed.
Went to Stage 48 NYC earlier this month to celebrate with my friends and it started off good...music was good, danced a lot. Then it got extremely crowded and we were hot and drenched in sweat. We were about to pass out and went to get water at the bar. The RUDE bartender wanted to charge us $10 for water and $5 for a cup of ice! When another bartender seemed to have empathy, he cut him off and said no we have to pay that or nothing. We were cash dry and I even told him I was about to pass out! I was so embarrassed that I made my friends travel all the way there for that! We ended up going to VIP to take a seat and be served the SAME water and ice he wanted to charge us for FREE! I caught the guy on my phone and he even made sure I got his face. Not sure what type of sick person that is but none of us will be returning. Everyone who saw it play out on social media was disgusted! Maybe when someone dies on their floor will they learn to have compassion!!!!! Be aware!!!
I love how there are many floors to choose from to dance on and the dance floors were great! However, we were there for the Monster Ball and it turned into pure craziness! There was no organization whennit came to who was going where. Trying to grab my jacket was pure chaos since everyone was pushing and shoving to get in and out of the same door! No organization at all! At the end of the night, the bartenders stopped giving small cups of water out and started charging 8 dollars for a bottle of water out of the blue when i had a few cups of water before. Each floor charged different prices for mixed drinks as well. One floor charged 12.50 for whiskey and coke. Next floor charged 14.50 for the same drink and the next floor charged 16.50. Will probably not come back due to the pure disorganization and baretenders doing whatever they want.
This venue is nice, AC and speakers are bumping at all times. Crowd doesnt get really packed until late, but Ive never had a bad time here. Drinks are on the expensive side, but the bartenders stay busy lining up shots and drinks for everyone. Coat check is available as well.
When you go into a place with money ready to spend you expect at least minimally good service. I ordered 2 drinks... Small cups $16 each... Strike 1... Then my second drink was completely watered down... Strike 2... Hookah man said refill was 25. When my charge came back it was 30. Strike 3... Never again ... I will take my money where they dont water down drinks...
Very nice chic club. Clean and modern with a few bars and a DJ on the stage. Its not really a place to meet people. Its too big and no real dance floor. I would recommend it for a large party. I dont know if they have in house caterer but food can be brought in.Its out of the way as far as transportation and that makes it difficult for many to walk from the trains. There is a 2nd floor with more seats. Good for a concert or show setting.
On Halloween night, October 31st of 2016, I purchased a ticket with high expectations of enjoying the night. Arriving a little after midnight the line was around the corner and dispite purchasing a ticket before hand my party and I were forced to stand on the very back of the line. While standing there for approximately 20 minutes a security guard passed by bartering saying money to jump the line. Turned off by this I decided to attend a different event. The event ended a little earlier than expected so I decided to give stage 48 another chance. The venue and music were mediocre as well as the crowd. By the end of the night I realized I lost both my iPhone and drivers license. I refused to leave without at least one of them so I asked every worker and security in sight. My persistence paid off when I finally asked a security guard on the ground floor. From his pocket he pulled out both my license and phone! He refused to give it back unless I paid him. I was forced to give him $20 for my belongings! I do not recommend this club. Your safety is at risk and its managed by thieves and hustlers. Absolutely disgraceful!
Avoid at all cost. Couldn’t go to smoke area: the guy at the door to get to smoke area told us there are too many people but let go the couple after us. Once you get in, you can’t get out: the show got delayed, we wanted to go out and get a snack or smth, they wouldn’t let us out. So didn’t other - over-drunk and sick people before the show... drinks are overpriced.
While we were waiting for our friend to take coat, the the arrogant and extremely rude lady bouncers literally thrown us out of the club...We are really hurt by the behavior..!!!!WOULD NEVER EVER SUGGEST ANYONE TO GO TO THAT CLUB AGAIN.Extremely disappointed... 😡Horrible bouncers and guards. We had a ticket, we were absolutely sober, we didn’t misbehaved, even then the bouncers treated us so badly.
Decent crowd. DJ was okay. It was a bollywood night, so there was a lot of Indian crowd as expected. This seems to be the only Bollywood club in the area. The staff was okay. They tried their best to accommodate the guests. A couple were rude and didnt care much. VERY EXPENSIVE DRINKS though. Not sure why the price is so high provided their service. Felt overcharged.
MOST WORST PLACE EVER!! Management is a joke. They are just interested in money. Open bar only includes beer and ask money for drinks even if it’s included. How absurd is that!! Coat check is not included. Worst service. After paying money for the coat check, they could not find my coat. SERIOUSLY!! Just teach the staff how to behave and be civilized. DO NOT GO THERE.
Though the outlook is amazing its just a big money collector. The DJs barely played any music. They kept turning the volume down so the crowd can sing. Not only do you sing your own music but the drinks are unreasonably pricey. We ordered 3 watered down shots that came out to $60. Who in their right mind would charge someone $20 for a shot! 2 rum and cokes for $30. Now it wasnt even in glass, or even a red solo cup, it was In those little .25 cent clear plastic cups. Filled to the brim with ice.Big rip off, unless youre someone that enjoys throwing out your money, id suggest going elsewhere.
Perfect place to host an event for a few hundred people. There are 3 floors with bars on each, a rooftop bar, a dance floor etc. A good place, the only complaint that I have is the security team didnt help us one bit even though our friend was injured. I was outside and the rule is once youre out, you cant go back in, which is totally fair. But hey, my friend is hurt inside and you cant send somebody to go help him out and get him outside? Or accompany me inside so that I can get him out? Come on..that was heartless! After such a great event, I didnt expect this.
Security at this venue are completely invasive, unprofessional and rude. Youre pretty much molested on your way in. but then after that still trying to enjoy the event a security guard comes and tells me that my friends and I cannot continue sitting in the area that we are in, OK not a problem. As im putting on my bag the guard grabs my beverage off the table, I explained to him that its my drink that I paid for, he looks at me then threw my drink in the garbage. Honestly I will never be returning.
If I could leave a negative 5 I would! Never have I ever had such a horrible time at a night club! Completely unorganized and unprofessional! We paid for “vip bottle service “ which was $400. The waitress came over handed us the bottle and took the juice that was half used from the people before us and took our credit card for her tip and left! Never poured any drinks!!!! THEN we got puked on from a drunken couple that was sitting on the couch next to us.There’s no barrier keeping the vip section from having anyone sit down. They “cleaned “ the couch with a mop and a rag and wiped it all over! Absolutely disgusting!!! Then let let people sit back down in the area that they half assed cleaned. I was upset so they moved us. Well apparently it was someone else’s seat. The random girl that was supposedly sitting there also got into my face to let me know that we’re in her spot and some guy she was with grabbed our bottle of vodka and started drinking it!!!!!!!! I found the “manager” who was useless and rude and told me well you should have kept an eye on your bottle and walked away! I can not believe he said that! Anyways that’s the jist of the gross place. Find another club there are tons! I should have read reviews before I paid that much money for that horrible experience
Went here for my cousins birthday. First time in New York. It was an awesome experience, there werent any issues with people fighting or getting too drunk in the club, everybody was having fun and dancing enjoying themselves. I would definitely come back to this place sometime soon.
I had the worst experience at this place last night. The ticket said 9pm, we spent over 2hrs in the freezing cold under 37F degrees and were not allowed into the venue until 11:30pm.Although I paid extra for VIP, that didn’t even make a difference because of the negligence at managing the line, as if they didn’t have any experience on a high demand show, they can’t handle a large crowd judiciously. One of security guards actually sent a VIP ticket holder to the wrong line and I had to intervene to help her get on the correct line, the security team was incompetent, condescending and rude. They frisked people in a very inappropriate manner. To top it all off they advised us that “coat check was mandatory” and that rule was applied inconsistently and disrespectfully as one of my friends was allowed inside with his coat and even with his messenger bag while others that were in the same group of people were forced to check their coats. And the person incharge threatened us to be kick out of the event if we refused to check our coats. And this rule was explained lacking all sort of common sense and manners by the rude employee. The event was announced at 10pm and it started after midnight. The band played the best Heroes del Silencio songs and it was the best HDS tribute band I have ever seen but on that tone friends and family that traveled from out of state and had to leave before the show ended because of the venue’s reckless neglect and care for their patrons. The way they treated the people was snobbish and irresponsible and an ultimate humiliation.I will never set foot here ever again.
Ive been to this place on several occasions and experienced something different each time. The atmosphere really depends on the respective events being held. I recommend you find out the theme of the night before arriving or else youll be disappointed. One plus is that it is a large venue with plenty of space to get lost in.
Cramps more people than legally allowed. Plus has sneaker rules depending on what time you come. If you are early they will tell you not to wear them whereas everyone who comes a little later is allowed with full blown running shoes. Also the website has no mention of sneakers not allowed. And not to forget overpriced drinks with little to no alcohol.
The overall vibe was amazing, however there are flashing lights that bothered me after some time. The bathroom attendant was okay but nothing special. The bartenders, on the other hand, did their best to make it easy for you to order drinks quickly. At Stage 48, there is Hookah for those interested but it becomes very foggy after awhile.
Pretty cool club! I came here for the Holi party and it was super packed! This is a 3 level club with a rooftop area as well. There is a bar on the ground floor and the rooftop level. I had a blast dancing here to Bollywood music. They now have weekly Bollywood parties here on Saturday nights. Definitely worth checking out!
I am highly upset with the services of Stage 48. We wanted to take my friend out for a bachelorette getaway tonight for Bollywood night. After a fun night of out on the town, we decided to end our night at 2:30 am at Stage 48. Little did we know that there was a $20 cash cover charge per person even though we arrived at 2:30 am. Apparently they accepted only cash. We didn’t have the $20 cash yet the guy at the door had the audacity to tell us that there’s an ATM across the street and to walk over. It was only 1 hour away from closing time yet they were not accommodating at all. Very disappointed - wouldn’t have thought there was a charge or even denial of entry for a bachelorette party! Highly do not recommend going to Stage 48.
People can die at this place and this crazy black bouncers were horrible. I went to celebrate NYE 2018 with my cousins and it was the worst decision. They had really bad management and had bunch of bouncers but only 2 people to check out the jackets and that made people pass out. We had to call ambulance. people were crying and we called the cops but it was too late. The bouncers were like animals they were beating people and throwing them like they were criminals. I guess all the bouncers were frustrated from their life and this was the place theytook out all their frustration. Obviously it was NYE and people were drunk so instead of beating people they could have announced to wait inside and to not rush we have short management and we dont wanna hurt you please be patient. Big thing nye ball drop wouldnt work at the last minute everyone was disappointed. My cousins came from Michigan we all came back home with sad face on new year. Whoever did this management he has to pay for this we paid $120 for nothing and ruined our new year. Cops should take some legal action against this incident and Im sure many people want to complain about thus incident.
Security here was thorough but the experience was awful. They will take your aspirin, so Id leave anything that could even be considered dangerous at all (like pepper spray or any kind of pill, even vitamins or unlabeled gum) at home. My event had no bag check and there was hookah being smoked near the dance floor, which was just poor placement. Their bar isnt stocked very well and water is $6 a bottle, with no option of watering stations near the bar. The space was large but there was no air conditioning on the roof. Also, the fire alarm went off multiple times in the evening.
Had a great time , but I really recommend them to have snacks to have with drinks, because some people come for dancing and some just enjoying that vibe of club as music and drinks and snacks .Sipping drinks itself ,is boring! so I definitely want to recommend snacks as a plus .
Went on a Saturday night and mostly stayed upstairs in the Dancehall Reggae/Soca room. Cover charge was a ridiculous $60 for men and $40 for women, but we knew someone so it was much cheaper for us. Parking is...well this is NYC so good luck. Bartender made some nice and strong drinks though so nothing lost there.
This is a GARBAGE, DISHONEST place. Which is a shame because they book some good shows. We get to the venue and are told that there is a MANDATORY coat check and large bag policy for $4 per item. Its fair enough to charge for a service if its optional. And its fair enough to make it mandatory for free. It is BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE to try to force mandatory fees on people. Its winter and below freezing outside. There is no choice but to come in a coat. And we live in nyc, we dont have cars to stash things. It should be a warning ahead of time on the ticket the way drink minimums are. TERRIBLE ethics!
The whole club set up is awesome....VIP section poppin....atmosphere very welcoming. The only thing I didnt like is that there is no bathroom downstairs...walking up n down a flight of stairs with shoes on is no bueno. But over all I always have a great time at Stage 48.
Went to a Bollywood night at Stage 48. They took a cover fee of $ 20 , which I am not complaining about. Just cant believe they wanted me to pay another $ 20 when I asked if I can go out and come back in 2 minutes. I got tired arguing and gave up.Oh, and just a heads up, they dont give water for free.
Stage 48 is missing out on ambience and good food but has extremely loud music which will be painful to the ears. There is high inconsistency in how they let people in. We were asked to checkin our jackets by the staff and we were charged a large amount for it. Later on we saw a lot of other people being allowed to carry their jackets inside. The place was too overcrowded. The DJ was consistently repeating songs. It was like a single playlist was on loop. I can say that my NYE party was a disappointment because my friends and I chose this place. Giving 1 star because I can’t go lower than that.
The actual venue is ok. Security people are ok for the most until you get to the inside of the place they are rude and treat you like cows going to the slaughter house! There is a Mandatory coat check which is stupid people should be allowed to keep their belonging. this same mandatory check coat makes the exit a nightmare!!
Never again! The bartenders here have major attitude problems, especially the female one. She has long, brunette hair and only serves men, so dont ask her for anything. Also, the space is poorly maintained, the sound system really needs attention and the location is out of the way. Take your money elsewhere.
If safety is a priority for you as it is for me, would suggest you avoid stage 48 like the plague. A bunch of us went for a saturday bollywood nite event... and ended up going through an ordeal. The place cant handle crowds, serves no food , and has staff especially alex and the lady bouncers , who think that manhandling guests and summarily snatching tables from them is the done thing. They have no compunction in assaulting you , and abusing you... it seems to be part of their training. if you insist on speaking to upper management.. all the best..you are asked to not waste their time, and to **** off... charming right???
This place is only good on Saturday nights for gay men! All the other nights are ghetto straight events!Straights beware: You will NOT be welcome if you have no gays accompanying you or if youre planning to come up in there to start trouble. I have seen bouncers drag people out for trying to start something they couldnt finish with the gays!
Our experience was not good. DJ had not idea what he was doing mixing Desi music with techno, and on other had Dhol walla was trying to play dhool.. totally off beat... wish they can do a better job on mixing music that makes sense for people to dance. And the bouncer wont let u back in if you just step out to take fresh air. You will habe to pay aother $20 re entry fee which was stupid and greedy of them.
Staff are unprofessional and rude,We paid $400 for VIP bottle service, after 1 hour they told us that we can’t use table anymore!!They didn’t tell us about timing, who is gonna pay 400 for just an hour????And when we ask to talk with manager, Staff kicked out us from club#Worst bottle service ever
DONT EVERY PURCHASE A TABLE HERE it’s not worth it at all...first of all I paid for a table by the stage and they put us like 10-12 flights up on the rooftop at this super small table and chair that could fit 4 people and it was for 6 of us. Also when I purchased the table it said that a card and id would be kept until the end of the night for gratuity. When we got there they told us we needed to pay $80 cash before we could be seated so I literally had to go out of my way to find the ATM machine when if that was the case it should have been stated that gratuity needs to be paid in cash, so we would not have had this issue because we literally lost an hour all because the closest machine in the building was out of service and it was an extremely packed night. But to be honest I would have not even tipped our cocktail waitress that much because she took Super long and she was serving the table next to us first and they came about 15 mins after us and overall the hospitality and the experience wasn’t great and I was disappointed because I don’t feel like they tried to better accommodate us in any way. Their were free empty tables on level 3 that we sat at when they told us there were not other tables available that night. We ended up taking our (ONE) bottle of crook with us and left all the chasers upstairs at the rooftop because it far up. 700 for a coffe table and one bottle of cirok lol NEVER WILL I SPEND MY MONEY AT THIS CLUB honestly don’t ever waste your money here go somewhere else you’ll get more bang for you buck.
Some friends and I came here for a christmas party that 107.5/WBLS was hosting with Shayla and we had a ball. he venue was huge and spacious on both levels. R&B performer, Jaheim performed and we were able to see him very well considering we were further in the back. There were sufficient bathroom stalls for the ladies and we never had to wait long. Staff were friendly and I would definitely return to this venue for an event.
Went for the Bollywood night.. the first DJ was so so bad.. my friends had given horrible reviews for the DJ.. his set was so terrible! He ruined every song. Played one line of the song and then basically played the same beat over and over for every song ! Thankfully the second DJ was better and they got the dhol at 2.30am.. but first DJ was so bad I cant bring myself to give more than 1 star
For one timers its good since they play bollywood music but statutory warning- the DJ plays so many repetitive songs, its like after 30 mins, all you listen is those same songs again and that is the thing i didnt like. They have a guy playing dhol which is good to dance on but the dj songs really suck. Thats why giving it a 4 star. You will love it for the 1st time but now after going thrice, i feel the same songs are being played again n again.
This place is not safe. Security isnt well trained. They encourage fights. A fight broke out n security refused to let out those that werent fighting. Instead they allowed innocent bystanders to witness get pushed, n harassed by the fight. And riots. They dont give Tap water and the waitresses and bartenders, try to steal n over charge you. The safety part is my main concern. Ny state should investigate the security team here.
All types of music, techno, trap hip hop, r&b, reggae, country... etc ... this club it LITTTTTTT I would recommend to anyone who loves music. Won loves too dance.V.i.P section is pretty cheap compare to other clubs, with selections of plenty of bottles, drinks range from 11-30$Met DJ Self, great DjOther great DJs there. Trust you will have a great time.
My first Silent Clubbing experience. It was awesome!¡ The DJs usually each with a different genre. I can pop a side of the headphones down to actually have a conversation. Then put them back on to zone out and dance. Also, seeing groups of people conga line, snap fingers or do the same dance in unison was more than cool. I was surprised how many times I would switch DJs to see what everybody else was up too. Sounds corny but life changing once you try it out. BTW, rooftop provided nice views and chance to catch some cool, fresh air before getting back to it.
A completely unprofessional venue. They didnt have the proper sound equipment to allow the 3 bands playing on a Saturday night to do a sound check until after the doors were supposed to be open. They had people wait outside in the cold for an hour. When they finally got things resolved they cut the first band from even playing. Unfortunately, this was the band we came to see. They refused to refund the ticket money. Id warn any band to think twice about playing there .
I was here for a Sonata Arctica concert, and am currently pregnant. They had me sign a consent form of course, but after allowing us in the manager personally showed us around to the restroom, gave us vip seating (at no extra charge) so I could be safely away from any mosh pits, and provided me with free water. This establishment is extremely accommodating and we will definitely be back! Thank you!
I checked my leather jacket for $4 at coat check, and forgot it there overnight when i left(yes i know the liability warning on the ticket). I called the next day, and surprise, they told me its missing(i still have my claim ticket). It was a costly mistake and I will never go back there. A more respectable place would have made the effort to hold it for you. Be warned about the sleaze.
Dont come here and get thirsty. They will REFUSE to give you a cup of tap water and force you to buy a 6$ bottle of water. What kind of establishment will deny you water when its coming from the tap. & the manager of the bar has no regard what so ever. Its truly a shame
Ive been here for a few times, once for a fashion show, another time for Shutterstock, as well as for a new watch launch. It is a great space for events like these. There is a huge first floor with a 2nd floor where others can view from above, as well as bathrooms in another space and another small room. I look forward to many more unique events here despite the long walk to 12th Avenue!
4 stars are because I love desi party and I always find a parking there. This place actually organized desi parties on every Saturdays and thats the only time I go there. Even for desi parties, they need to work on the seating arrangements. I will definitely o again.
This venue does not offer tap water to their patrons. What the f***? The bartender kept insisting I pay up 5 dollars for a bottle of water. It seems to be their policy there. With so many people crammed up, it gets hot. F*** this place, I drank from their bathroom sink. Ps the paper towel guy in the bathroom stopped me and my friend from walking out and pointed to his tip cup. Unreal.
What ever you do, don’t come here for the low budget but high priced NYE events... bartenders were horrible, demanding tips before even making a drink - whilst we paid for VIP & unlimited open bar, the bar manager had a ruff night & attempted to handle the bar staff after we complained 4 times and threatened to call our credit card companies to dispute the entire VIP for 7 (pending we left) - we were attacked by security (caught on video) - the kids they let in drank fast, got drunk & spilled drinks all Over us repeatedly...additionally the DJ missed the count down to midnight and no one knew 2018 had rung in, coat checkin was required & a huge mess, wait 1.5 hours to retrieve coats @ 1:45am completely disorganized, staff went through our coats and stole items... the main issue, with this place was the level of service, the disrespect by low budget Russian bartenders, THEFT by coat check staff and unprofessional security staff ATTACKING patrons - when we started to document security actions the individual swung at us twice and then a third time knocking my iPhone to the ground (on video) we are still pursuing legal action against both parties (club & security personnel)
DO NOT GO HERE.THE SECURITY HAS ABSOLUTELY NO RESPECT FOR ITS GUEST OR THE VENUES.THEY WILL GO INTO YOUR POCKETS AND TAKE YOUR MONEY AND WHATEVER THEY FIND. THEY WILL ALSO VIOLATE YOUR PRIVATES LIKE THEY DID TO MY BOYFRIENDS NUTSACK.THE DRINKS ARE OVER PRICED & THEYLL LET YOU DIE OF DEHYDRATION BEFORE LETTING YOU HAVE SOME WATER. WHO CHARGES 6$ FOR A CUP OF TAP WATER ? THIS PLACE IS RATCHET AF. THE STAFF IS RUDE AF. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. NEVER ATTENDING ANY VENUES FROM THIS PLACE .
Worst place in NYC to hang out once in the the place has this exit is final policy . So if you want to go to your car to get something or go outside for a smoke or fresh air youll have to re-pay your entrance even with a stupid bracelet that I dont see the use for it

2022-07-11Danny Ocean event 7/9Tickets were posted as stated General,VIP and Super VIP .Event was posted to start at 9pmI always arrive closer to the performers stage time . Got there around 10:30pm , there was a line around the corner , one line for everyone, people skipping . You got separated at the door based on your ticket. You were patted down very aggressively . So basically general went to the second floor , VIP was in the first floor and Super VIP was blocked off by one rope and one body guard who was constantly harassed all night . You best believe multiple people sneaked in or he let in because they were constantly asking him . You barely saw workers checking the crowd , sloppy drunks all over . Bartenders not controlling peoples drink limits . Constantly hearing people fighting because there was no crowd control.A whole mess.

2022-07-10WORST VENUE FOR EVENTS EVER!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!! Event was supposed to start at 9pm and we were still in line by then. I had the general admission ticket, so they sent us to the second floor. It was a balcony, so whoever was first to get to the railing could see. On the left side of the balcony, there were only tables so people stand between them so they could see something. Then, security came and said if we wanted to be there we had to buy a bottle, and then began to close off the railing area so you had to be a few feet back and couldnt see the stage. When I asked how much was the cheapest bottle, they said, $400 and only could be shared by 4 people. Total cost for this event as general admission was going to be $150 per person when the VIP was only $85 and you were on the first floor. By 11:30ish a girl asked the security what time he was gonna perform and the security said by 1am. He said, the door opens at 9pm but he won’t perform till 1am. In the ticket did not say that. It’s a shame because the place is very nice, but their customer service, advertisement and organization is TERRIBLE.

2021-11-15I had a great experience at this place, it was a concert of Mago de Oz, it was well organized and clean. I would have liked more sound, but it was ok. 😎✌🏻

2022-07-10What a joke! We waited 4 hours for Danny Ocean to play. The tickets stated 9pm and he didnt show up until 1am. We got there early and had a great view but then they pushed us out of our area to set up additional VIP tables. We didnt get to see anything. Def not coming back to HK and what a disappointment Danny was!

2022-06-27If cigarettes are not dumped at the door- no reason for weed to be snatched from your bag like a savage by security and throw it out without any warning. The event never announced any policy to make this ok. It was very aggressive and if a person spent so much for an entrance- at least let them turn around and take their personal belongings with them. I did not have anything “illegal” it’s the same as cigarettes. I didn’t even get the chance to take my things back to my car.Yet people were vaping all night inside the event. *****Security must be making extra money dealing with those garbage bags afterwards!!! 💰🍀

2022-07-10The logistics were horrible, upstairs you cant see anything, and if you want to be near the railing you have to pay a minimum consumption of two bottles ???Not even downstairs you cant see well and it’s “vip” area, the concert was supposed to start at 9 oclock, and at 12:30 the invited artists just came out to open the concert. All bad

2022-07-10TLDR: arrogant and poor management & ridiculously long wait for a lineup that couldn’t even perform properly. Wouldn’t come here again for the ticket prices and tiers we paid for. This is one of those “if I could give it 0 stars I would” instances. Had been to HK before for a Hot Rabbit Pride event and it was probably easier to manage because it was more of a club/party event. But last night was a complete disaster on and both management teams from HK and Danny Ocean (the artist we waited FIVE hours to see). Got there at 8p and waited in the “VIP” line (which was just another GA floor on the bottom, how VIP) and waited until 9:15p for doors to open (already passed when Danny was said to perform). Got in at 9:30p not prepared for the next 3 hours of back-to-back DJ sets with the same tracks (I kid you not, hearing Me Porto Bonito 5 times in different sets gets bothersome even for a Bad Bunny fan like me), an opening act that couldn’t even perform consistently because of poor soundcheck, and fights breaking out because of the exponential aggression that was building over Danny not showing up on stage after being announced several times that he was coming out. When he finally did come out, he acted as if nothing happened, as did the management who were running across the stage the entire night to handle procedures that should’ve been done prior to, and the worst part of it all was the lack of consideration for us all standing for hours with no water or proper air conditioning to watch a disappointing hour-long set that was not worth the wait. So unfortunate being that the venue is structurally cool (reminiscent of T5 or Irving Plaza) but the integral difference is that those venues have the proper management adequate enough to handle any form of concert that caters to smaller fanbases. In short, HK was a joke.
