Krysi helped my fiancé and I with enlarging my engagement ring. She was incredibly sweet and understanding. I got my ring resized the day I called to ask about pricing, and it was significantly cheaper than other jewelry stores Id researched. Other stores (especially chain stores) were telling me it would take 2-7 days to get done and there would be a fee of $100 altogether at least. The jeweler, Ed, at H. L. Gross got it done in 30 minutes the same day I called. Ed gave the ring to me several times to try on to make sure I was happy with the size. They also kindly allowed us to watch the process, as my fiancé didnt want the ring out of sight. Incredibly professional and quick. Krysi also helped us look at wedding bands after and answered our many questions without trying to push a sale on us! Cant say enough about this place. Will definitely be returning!
I had the pleasure of visiting them for the first time over the weekend when I went in to get my watches resized. Frankly, as an enthusiast and a collector, I couldnt have asked for a better experience. The entire staff was sooo friendly and knowledgeable and Theresa especially made me feel right at home. Krysi Krafchin helped me select the most breathtaking engagement ring. She presented options for my budget, over my budget and under. She emailed me when I left, keeping an open line of communication just in case I wanted to make any last minute changes. Most importantly she had a great personality and wasnt pushy, you can tell she enjoyed what she does.

Bought my wife’s engagement ring, and both our wedding bands here, and I’m about to go buy a watch from them, they’re awesome. Their prices are great and they really take care of you if something goes wrong with the ring. We had a few issues of the stones falling of the engagement ring(not their fault, it was a manufacturing issue) and they remade the whole ring for me. Haven’t had any serious issues since.
I most certainly want to comment on my great experience with H.L. Gross Jewelers, and with Annalisa in particular! I worked closely with H.L. Gross and with Annalisa for about a 6 week period in the design of a custom engagement ring. First off, the presentation of the engagement ring was successful, and had the desired effect : ) so, everything else is surrounded with a glow of success! But independently of that, Annalisa deserves a Nobel Prize in Customer Service : ) She was patient with me as I made my progression of interest from a couple of models made by prominent ring designers, finally to a custom ring. Both she and I share credit for the ring motif, as it was based on a famous designer that I used for upholstery choices – but her recommendation was made completely without any such knowledge) But anyway, to bring this review back from a lyrical tone, I was delighted with the service, the price, and the results of the custom ring produced by H.L. Gross under the direction of Annalisa. I embarked on a nationwide search for producers (I don’t live in the area), and Gross turned out to clearly be the best choice.I recommend them enthusiastically, for both the purchase of a “normal” ring, as well as the production of a custom ring.
Very nice staff, good selection of jewelry and watches. Bought a pair of earrings not knowing they were on sale and they rang them up with the discount anyway, talk about honesty. Will be shopping with them again.
Who knew?? I made an appt w/ Bruce after a coworker recommended him & HL Gross. Another friend had gotten her rings and diamond earrings here. To be honest, although I was well aware of the name, I associated them with North Shore jewelers where I didnt like the attitude or prices! I wanted a new ring and found my dream ring on the website. Bruce had the ring Id seen waiting and answered tons of questions. Id done extensive research on the prices for larger stones, as I wanted, and can only say that we were very happy with the quality, price, service, knowledge, sizing the ring so I could wear it out - but then came the fun part! Brad, the owner, offered us Champagne at the bar where my husband took a knee and re-proposed. Brad took pics, we talked, watched the Subway Series and had a great time. Thx to Bruce & Brad for my awesome new ring; check it out! Theres no hard sell and you really feel like they just want to make you happy. The store is beautiful and classy but not intimidating, though Im hard to intimidate! Young couples, casually dressed people of all ages, easy parking. Highly recommend!

HL Gross was recommended to me by a family member, so I decided to come in to discuss my interest in purchasing a Rolex for my upcoming milestone. I met with Justin who was helpful. I am looking for a local jeweler that I can come back to in the future for all of life’s important events and it seems like HL Gross could be it.
My entire experience with H.L. Gross was outstanding. About a year and a half ago my GF (now fiance) said she wanted to go look at engagement rings, because thats apparently what you do. I agreed, and she said she wanted to go to H.L. Gross because they are a certified Tacori dealer and thats what she wanted.We met with Bruce, and explained that I was in the very early stages of planning, so he showed us a lot of different options and took note of what she liked. I wasnt ready to buy at this time, but got the impression that Bruce and H.L. Gross were honest and professional about everything.Bruce and I stayed in touch and I went back in May during a Tacori event where I was able to purchase the exact ring she wanted, and also a beautifully cut brilliant center diamond. All of the specs were written down from my previous visit so it made my life really easy.The ring was handmade in California, shipped to Long Island to be set, and a few days later I have the happiest fiance in the world. I was even able to save some $ and got a sizable travel voucher from the purchase. Cant recommend Bruce and H.L. Gross enough. Thank you!
My new happy place! Had my mothers engagement ring set into a necklace. Everyone was helpful understand and informative. The stone never left my sight and it was amazing to watch the jewler work, a true craftsman. I was comfortable with the process from beginning to end. I was overwhelmed when I saw how beautiful the piece came out. Will definitely be returning.

I will start by saying that I am blown away at the level of customer service at this store. I want to thank Christina specifically who went above and beyond to help me deal with a situation, which had nothing to do with them. She consistently returned my calls and subsequently made calls on my behalf to Rolex to help advocate for me to obtain a warranty service for a watch that was not even purchased there. She was extremely informative, helpful and an absolute pleasure to deal with. The same can be said of Jorge, their watchmaker, who is Rolex certified (tough to find outside of Rolex NYC). He was patient and equally helpful and informative when my watch was dropped off/picked up.Considering that this is the level of service received for a watch that wasnt even bought there, I would have zero doubt/hesitation to purchase my next Rolex (or any watch/jewelry) from them. Regardless of the watch/jewelry youre looking to purchase, they should be your first and only stop. As an added bonus, the store is immaculate and has a fantastic selection.Thank you again to Christina and Jorge for all of your effort. You have certainly earned a customer for life.
Shopping for a 10 year anniversary gift with my husband this year. We couldn’t be happier to have found HL Gross. The service is impeccable and everyone is very friendly. The staff is attentive and caring, so every time you walk in, you feel at home. Their jewelry selection is one of the best and its very apparent that the staff is well educated and knowledgeable on their products. The staff was very helpful in choosing a setting for the stone. I had a style with a certain stone type that was desired and everything was smooth from the start to finish! Pricing was excellent for my choice and style that was desired!Kathy helped me on my first visit with an idea of the settings and choices I left very happy as the second visit I was helped by Brad and his expert knowledge overall! My last visit to pick up the custom ring, Tara helped me complete the transaction! Worst experience ever. I went to have my watch resized, which was done wrong. The way they took out the links made the watch fit lopsided on my wrist. Thus having me spend extra money at a certified jeweler to fix. Money wasted. I also gave them 3 watches to put batteries in, which was well overpriced. Then i had my ring dipped which faded off in a week. These minor jobs that I’ve asked took a month to do meanwhile i paid nearly $200. You actually have to have a little humor because of how ridiculous the quality and service they deliver to ask for such $. Then to top it off after the 2 week mark. The representatives acted like the customer was rather bothersome to their well being. Never again !
Ashley was extremely helpful and kind, knew exactly what we wanted, maintained being within the budget we had. Cant wait to pick the ring up when it’s made. Would highly recommend this jeweler. The selection was quite large with different styles the atmosphere is calm and the show room is gorgeous.
My husband purchased my beautiful Tacori engagement ring from Gross, so obviously we went back for the matching wedding bands! Bruce was simply AMAZING! Professional, patient and friendly. Back in 2007 I made a purchase at HL Gross & Bros. Jewelers. At that time, the staff was helpful, friendly and accommodating. I have since sent many friends and colleagues to the store for wedding and for watches and time and time again people are very pleased with the attention they get and the value for the items purchased.Last week I returned to shop for another item and had the opportunity to see the new showroom and talk with the staff. They spent over an hour with me and explained all of the options. While I was having something appraised, there is a nice area to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee, a bottle of water, and some chocolates.I continue to be impressed with this jeweler.
I had my Rolex repaired by Jorge Dominguez watch repair makerhe was amazing and so informed. I will definitely go there again and looking forward to purchasing a watch from them. Thank you so much Jorge.

This is the best Jewelry Store out there! I bought an engagement ring here and the service was amazing. They gave him a great deal compared to other places that I looked at. Any question I had they answered. They were very informative. Additionally, they were able to deal with my antics throughout the process. The ring was custom made and they were able to get it to me exactly when I required it. I felt very comfortable and confident that I was getting the best quality product I could possibly find. I also dealt a lot with one of the owners Brad Gross and he was a pleasure to work with! I would recommend this place to anyone making this significant of a purchase. Purchased an engagement ring there a few months ago. My now fiance loves it. The staff was very friendly, Justin spent several hours with me going over everything. They have a phenomenal selection of ring designs and an endless selection of stones to choose from. I was very pleased with the service. Couldnt have asked for more. My relationship with HL Gross & Bro. Jewelers began on line, where I sent an inquiry and Bruce responded. From our first on-line communication up until the day we walked into the store Bruce offered dynamic customer service. He was knowledgable about the settings, giving detailed descriptions of the metals and most importantly Bruce was patient. We ultimately went with platinum for our metal and hubby got a Tacori wedding band with diamonds and I got a Simon G setting and matching band. Did I mention that the store was hosting a bridal event with several of the designers representatives were present as well as someone who also had stones to browse. Pricing was reasonable and as expected for the type of rings we wanted to buy. The event was wonderful and so were the mimosas and again Bruces patience, as I changed my mind for the second or third time on a setting. Overall, I highly recommend that you jump in the car and take the trip to Garden City. Note: Making an appointment ensure that you have a scheduled time to peruse all of your options (although I am certain you can walk in as well). Again, thank you Bruce and HL Gross & Bro. Jewelers. My fiancé came here to pick out my engagement ring last year. After the service and help he received to pick out my dream engagement ring, I knew we had to come back to pick our wedding bands. Bruce was so helpful, knowledgeable and patient as we looked for the rings that would seal our vows to each other. We ordered our rings and they came in quite quickly. H.L. Gross has made such a personal moment for my fiancé and I easy and memorable. We are not getting married until October and I was told to come in before the wedding to have my engagement ring polished to be sparkling and new for our big day. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this jewelry boutique. 10/10 would give higher star rating if possible. Tara and company were great!! They helped me find my dream Rolex that NO OTHER dealer could find. They held the watch for me for over a week with no deposit. They were very helpful and friendly. I purchased a lot of my jewelry collection from this store. My engagement ring in 1974 was purchased here and a lot of estate pieces. A new setting in platinum, various other pieces.I had a very rude associate a few years ago and never returned. Last evening I came across a gift certificate and letter of apology the store sent me the next day after leaving a poor review. I did remove the review at the time. I never redeemed the gift certificate as the experience was beyond something rectified. Ripped it up and realized the treatment I received was a business I would never do business again with...sad how a business can decline over the years when care is not taken in screening the associates.
Fantastic experience getting my Rolex serviced. It is done in house and they are definitely faster than some of the other servicers out there. I definitely recommend them for Rolex service.

My first experience of them me and my fiancé arrived about 10 min after closing after driving for 1hr. The owner saw us outside looking in and popped his head out and said well were closed but you came all this way and he stayed late with us and let us shop, they would have won my business right there, but the entire experience with them has been so hassle free. I bought my fiancés engagement ring and she bought my wedding band with them and I couldnt say more good things about them. There are no hidden fees if something isnt exactly how you like it they make it right no questions asked. They whole staff has been friendly and helpful, I also did my research before purchasing and found I got the ring at a very reasonable price. Would recommend them again an again! Thanks!

We had the good fortune of encountering Bruce Lutwick at H.L. Gross while browsing engagement ring settings. I liked him instantly! He was not stuffy but very personable, educating us about the different settings and which would best suit our taste (traditional but modern) sprinkled with some personal experiences (which I loved hearing). We are not ones to make rash decisions so it took several visits to the store before deciding on the perfect ring (Coast Diamond designer, LZ5017 in Platinum - STUNNER). On a subsequent visit we made an appointment with Bruce to evaluate diamonds for the ring we had selected. We let Bruce know in advance our thoughts on carat weight and clarity so would have time to evaluate the best stones for our specifications. Very professional and personable staff. Everyone I came across was fantastic from a business perspective as well as on a personal level. Bruce even went as far as to print me out a guide to everything Italy for a trip I told him I was taking; from shopping to dining to must see attractions, it was very cool. 10/10 experience.

I would have given one star - but in the end I got my wedding bands and its done - I do enjoy them.However,I deeply regret picking H.L. Gross to be the jeweler for our wedding rings. After seeing such high ratings I thought this would be a pleasant process - it certainly was not. If I could reverse time, I would have gone to another jeweler.My fiance and I wanted simple rose gold wedding bands with inscriptions on the inside. We were told it would take two weeks. After two weeks - I received a call saying they were ready, and when I went in to get them, the ring size felt way too small and they had to be resized. Additionally, my name was spelled wrong. Mistakes happen! They told me to wait again for another two weeks. I called the store again at four weeks because no one gave me a call - and I gave them more then enough time to call me back. A lady I spoke to on the phone told me the rings were in. I was a little annoyed no one had contacted me about it. Off I went to the store - and surprise! The rings werent there. They said they had made a mistake - that they thought my rings were in but in fact they were still out and they read the wrong order. Another two weeks. More time passes - I call again. Still not there. I call again - now annoyed - where are my rings?Finally I get a phone call - saying the rings are in. My fiance and I go in and see the rings. The rings are supposed to be matching rose gold bands with an inscription inside. My fiances ring was hand written and mine was laser etched. I said no - this is not what we wanted - they are supposed to be matching. Why are they not matching? Why are there so many mistakes? The manager came out at this point and apologized to us- and told us he would put a rush order delivery. My fiance and I left very annoyed and contemplated cancelling the whole thing because I normally give people three strikes before theyre out. But as we were almost done - whatever.I called the manager the day that he promised me the rings would be in on rush delivery - in the afternoon. I was informed that the rings are not there because he had to send them back. They misspelled my name again - absolutely unbelievable! He assured me that this was not the fault of the jeweler - but of an outside engraver. I dont care! Its irrelevant! Who you choose to do business with is a reflection also on you and your business. I was extremely - to put it bluntly - pissed off. I was even more angry that the manager did not call me first notifying me of the second misspelling and that it had to be sent out - again. I found this out because I called myself. He ordered yet again, another rush delivery, and at last it was done.What angered me throughout this process was the lack of communication from H.L. Gross. This whole predicament took nearly 3 months of my time and Im upset that I had to keep track of people. I cant believe it took this long to get bands with inscriptions.This was such an unprofessional experience! Never coming back here again
Brad is an incredible listener. As a customer, all you have to do is tell him what you want and he will patiently work with you and make it happen. Brad makes the impossible...possible. He has earned my trust.

Over priced compared to other competitors in and surrounding tri-state. For example a identical setting at other multiple establishments were lower. I can’t comment really on there diamond prices. But this establishment definitely upmarks there product significantly. This establishment does have a vast selection to see.

Poor customer service. Waited 30 minutes for someone to help us buy our wedding bands and finally left before anyone could help us. They told us they were under-staffed. Will spend our money somewhere else.

2022-03-02I’m a watch collector/enthusiast. I’ve done business with HL Gross Jewelers for a few years now and have referred them to several friends. We’re living in a strange time when global demand is ridiculously high and the leverage is in the dealers’ court when it comes to procurement of fine watches. Brad and the team at HL Gross Jewelers have never exploited that fact and have always gone above and beyond to source fine timepieces for me and my friends and family. This is a modern, conveniently located Jewelry store that hasn’t lost touch with the old-school service and customer experience side of the business. Buying a fine watch or piece of jewelry is supposed to be fun and HL Gross always makes it feel that way. These guys honestly treat customers like family.

2022-02-02I bought a daytona rose gold a year ago from this place... i purchased this watch specifically on terms that they promised to put me on a list to purchase another rare watch in the future. when i went back in there they said that i wasn’t in line for the watch and claimed they never made the promise to put me on the list! they even went as far as stating that they never seen me before!Based off of the fact that Matt, the owner, fails to keep his word proves that he runs an unethical business. i called again today to see if they would honor their word and they said that i was rude and i wouldn’t be able to get the watch. when someone fails to keep their word there’s a difference between being rude and being right. i am very uncomfortable doing business with a dishonest person. i feel ashamed especially since i spent $40grand on a daytona and planned to spend another $25grand. DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID!
