We built with Hodorowski Homes in 2015; nothing could have prepared us for the experience and many issues we would encounter along the way.The Good:Our new home is beautiful and, finally, does not smell like sewage gas (MUCH more on that to follow). The location of our home is fantastic, and we have a wonderful development with great neighbors. Maggie in selections, Tina at Feidens, and Bill at Bellevue were great. Jeremy, the site supervisor, is knowledgable and helpful. The Bad and The Ugly:We can recall ONE occasion when we felt Jim Bordis, the brokers agent, was working with us rather than against us. While we realize he is the agent representing the builder and needs to keep the process moving, his job is also, at least to some degree, to work effectively with the client/buyer. That being said, Jim does not display strength in the area of client relations. He is at times a detriment to the company given his brash nature. He is curt to the point of rudeness, which can be extremely off putting.CUSTOMER SERVICE: This is EASILY Hodorowski Homes greatest weakness and is in need of TREMENDOUS improvement before we could ever in good conscience recommend friends and family, or anyone for that matter, build with this company. We had a MAJOR issue with our home after it was built, namely that it frequently and overpoweringly smelled like sewage. I truly cannot overstate how pungent the smell was; there were days the house was un-livable, and we would literally be forced to pack up and leave. Several of Hodorowskis employees and subcontractors smelled it, removing any doubt about the nature, severity, and existence of the issue. While the company was initially willing to take some steps to investigate the issue, they grew weary of trying and became combative and dismissive before any cause was discovered or remedy implemented. Jennifer in customer service made it abundantly clear she and Hodorowski Homes had done all they could and would no longer be addressing this concern. In truth, they had not but clearly wanted to be done with us and our putrid smelling home. We were made to feel as if we were being total nuisances, over dramatic, or perhaps even making the whole thing up.FINALLY, after A YEAR AND A HALF of enduring sewer odors in our brand new (and hardly inexpensive) home, water in our basement pointed Jeremy to an unvented, uncapped plumbing pipe that was directly allowing sewer gas to pour into our home. While we were truly grateful to put the awful smell and horrible experience behind us, Hodorowski Homes did not once accept responsibility for their mistake; they did not apologize for the error nor the way they treated us during the on-going battle to get the issue resolved. We were extremely misled on the yard we would be receiving. We were told from the start our yard would have thirty feet of flat/usable space and a gradual slope down from there. We were assured a pool and swing set would be doable in the yard. In truth, there is no where near 30 feet of flat space anywhere in the backyard, and we have incredibly steep hills, along with a retaining wall we were never informed of with a 10-15 foot drop off. The retaining wall was VERY shoddily constructed and appeared to be leaning from the onset. A swingset would never be possible back there, let alone a pool. This was a HUGE disappointment and an area we feel we were intentionally misled and downright lied to about. For the money we spent and the assurances we were given, the yard is wholly unacceptable.Attention to detail is questionable. Case and point, the open sewer line. Our dryer vent was sheetrocked over. When we closed, we were missing a portion of our countertop. Until we complained, there was also no fence/barrier placed in front of the retaining wall drop off to prevent someone from falling over the edge. While we love our home now that it is free from sewer gas, the problems and treatment we encountered along the way were enough to inhibit us from endorsing Hodorowski Homes as a great company to do business with.
We live in the cider mills community which is marketed on the website as “large private wooded home sites on 2 cul-de-sacs.” The Builders realtor assured many of the 9 residents in the first cul-de-sac that the land surrounding our homes, specifically at the end of the cul-de-sac, was “forever wild”. Well, the town plans to connect our cul-de-sac to a new 26 home subdivision that is being developed on the “forever wild” land. In fact, the Town Planning board confirmed that Hodoroski Builders was aware of the intent to eventually connect our road once the land was developed. As a result, our road will become a cut through to Round Lake Road and Benedict Road since the new subdivision will also have an entrance on Round Lake Road. Not only is the safety of the 12 small children in our community in jeopardy, we all paid premiums for our homes. Some of us also paid lot premiums to be in the cul-de-sac. Our property values will drop significantly as a result of this. Buyer beware, this is fraudulent to say the least. We had so many issues with this home builder I wouldn’t know where to start and it would take me hours to document everything in this review. Just be aware that the customer service is deplorable and you cannot trust this builder. I would not recommend Hodoroski Builders and regret my decision to build with them.
Do not use this builder! After couple of years in the home, Slowly things began to fall apart!!! Floors started lifting in some areas and squeaks like no other. The large wall in my living area is not sand down smoothly. During the say you can see the light bouncing off of it showing all the rough patches! Light fixtures one by one, if its not our foyer light, its our upstairs light, then it was our dining room light. It all started to peel from the ceiling exposing the wires, looked like the lights fixture was hanging for dear life. ITs so dangerous because I have little ones in the house. we Paid for a handyman to come. We had used 2 different handyman already due to the light fixture and they both said the builders used the cheapest PLASTIC pieces that there is to hold HEAVY fixtures! of course itll start to fall after couple of months. Yet when we build with Hodorowski they would charged us almost everything as an upgrade, all those upgrades that we paid for little do we know they had used poor quality material. SMH! Our fault for not being there to check, we trusted them that was why we didnt check. All the upgrade they made off of us & many other customers is for them to maintain their fancy cars & home that they have. Never again would I build with them. Dont say I didnt warn you.
I am living in a condo complex built in 2005 or 06. The builder should have taken more time and spent more money to build a better product. One of our buildings has structural issues, the driveway/parking lot has issues, and each winter we have a sprinkler system water break in the cold weather due to lack of insulation in primary spots needed to keep the cold at bay.Spending a little more time and money would have given homeowners a better product.
The worst ever new construction in Capital Region.Customer service rep is awkward to the core. No professionals and no work ethics from starting to ending. Poor quality of building and cheap stuff all inside house. I would wonder if there is any one happy customer for this dirty builders. No cleanliness while walk thru. This buidlers and their quality and their customer service DO NOT deserve even one star but Google forced me to do one :-). I DONT RECOMMEND TO ANY this money loving builders.
Their customer service is terrible. Once they have your money they refuse to work with you. On multiple occasions I had to track them down to finish work they said they would do. I would wait weeks for a response to inquiries. Our door knobs on the doors to the rooms would stick and be difficult to turn and open. After putting in a service request they wanted to do it during the 6th month revisit, however the only date they had for the 6th month revisit was a month an a half out. I said the date was fine for the 6th month revisit but if they could please fix the door knobs before that. I received no response for 12 days. When they did the landscaping the sidewalk they put in was cracked by one of the workers. They said they would repair it on the following Monday. No one came, and no one called me to let me know otherwise. On top of it, they never called the landscaper, and they put the landscaping in with the sidewalk cracked. They then came back to fix the sidewalk, removed the whole sidewalk, destroyed the landscaping in the process, and after they repaired it. I had to chase them down to get someone to come fix the landscaping. They installed the lawn before putting my lamp post in, destroying the grading in front when they dug everything up to bury the wire. They said they would repair it, no one ever showed up, I ended up having to go get sod to manually repair it.My front lawn has concrete and stone in it and spots where it will not grow, because no one ever properly scrapped or cleaned up the front lawn. However, when I noticed it after the lawn install, they told me it was washout. I didnt know washout put concrete on lawns. The lawn install was a disaster from the get go. Their installer, Gerry Orsini, installed my lawn a day before we got torrential downpour for almost a month straight. It had been in the news forecasts for weeks. By the time the weather had settled, the grass seed had been washed away and I had weeds overtake the lawn. I also had massive washout from the grading, all of the water from my neighbors lawn washed through my back yard. When I asked them to do something about it. I was told its my problem and had the lawn agreement shoved at me.The lawn agreement stated that I was responsible, and suggested things like straw to alleviate washout. It also told me that with the tight schedules it could not be moved. However, my notice was less than 24 hours, and multiple neighbors around me had their lawn installs rescheduled. So Hodorowski seems to only follow the agreements when it suits them. This company is far from Customer Centric and has a lack of morals that rivals some of the big businesses on Wall Street. They are partnered with Masullo for the Guilderland site at Twenty West. I would avoid both companies if possible and look for new home construction through another builder.

2022-02-03Terrible craftsmanship and customer service. After spending almost $500k on a new home and being warned about the home settling and potential walls cracking but assured it would be covered under warranty, I am now told that warranty is only 12 months. We have been in the home for 14 months now and you can see some of the issues we are having in the photos.I have recommended friends and family to use them. 2 of which have in the last year. Over $1million in sales between the 3 of us and this is what I get. NEVER use them if you can avoid it.

2022-02-241.We have moved into the above property on October 6th.2.The boards have surface peeling at the edges3.we made the complaint to the Howdroski who built this home, who asked us to communicate with the installer4.the installer along with the flooring supplier made 3 inspections, counted the damage on boards 150 boards are impacted was informed by the installer5.this was not accepted by the manufacturer we were told after already 4 inspections6.2 weeks back All flooring inspections third party was sent to do the inspection again7.This gentleman who came in clearly said to us I am not here to count the floorboards damaged and didnt want me to move any furniture8.He claims in his report only 17 boards are impacted- which is an utter lie,9.he has taken limited photographs and not inspected all areas and made this report as if he is paid to count a false number, his report highlight only the tape marked areas we left and does not cover all the areas which he was ready to inspect or allow me to move the furniture11.we have lived through the Christmas time with these tapes all over the house15.Matt Adam from David Louis flooring is the installer he has been to the house to do the inspections four times. The service across is poor and bad. Please be careful if you are dealing with these people.

2021-05-23The Hodorowski team is incredibly professional, polite, and hard working! They are all trying to help homeowners get into their homes as fast as possible. Given the uncertainty with the construction industry and lumber/supply shortages, they somehow continue to impress while managing the challenges which are completely out of their control. I would completely recommend anyone looking to build a home to consider Hodorowski. John is very lucky to have such a dedicated and talented team, and in turn, we are lucky to have them working with us.

2020-01-22This was the first time we ever build a home and we love our new townhouse. Erin from the design center worked really well with my designer and I. During the design phases, we added and changed many details and she was readily available and super helpful. She quickly had the sourcing , contacts and pricing for every step for all those changes. We were well informed by Kim our realtor on every step of the construction phase her insight and experience was truly helpful and appreciated. After we moved in, Jennifer from the service center was available for my questions and various work that needed to be finished or adjusted. Jennifer kept track of the work , scheduled all the service calls and followed up to make sure they were done. We are very happy with our new home and our new neighbors.

2020-02-14I am in the process of building a home with Hodorowski homes. So far the experience has been very stress free. The entire team is very helpful and responsive. They have accommodated every request I made, even when it meant changing my mind on various selections multiple times. I have been informed of all steps in the construction process. I think they have a good base package of finishes to choose from. I feel lucky to have chosen them as my home builder.

2020-01-16We recently built our home with Hodorowski and are very happy with the outcome. The quality and selections are much better than other builders in the Capital Region. Hodorowski was always willing to help with any questions/issues that came up during the build. Jen from Service is also extremely helpful once you move in. She responds very quickly and is extremely friendly/helpful. I would (and have) recommend Hodorowski to friends and family!

2020-06-27For anyone about to build with Hodorowski, proceed with caution and do your research. This builder is deceiving and dishonest. We live in a private 9 lot cul-de-sac which the builder advertised as such. We explicitly asked on numerous occasions if land at the end of our cul-de-sac would be developed in the future and we were told “that is forever wild.” All nine homes are currently in our second year of battling the Town because the Town plans to turn our cul-de-sac into a through road connecting our neighborhood to 25 more homes. We paid lot premiums for lots that will now be the least desirable in the area.We have since come to find out that the builder knew about the possibility of future development and connectivity and outright lied to 9 families. They were able to build and sell homes at premium prices because of the location, knowing damn well things would change. If you are building with this builder do your homework - go to your Town Hall and request for the neighborhood development plans to see if any paper roads are part of the plan. Do not take their word for anything.

2020-08-03We a bought a home @bought meadows, we had hard time working with the builder agent Kim Mesko, she is very adamant, stubborn to work with. Unfortunately we have to work with her for the minor structural changes.Kim,Isnt your job listen to what owner wants? explain why it can nt be done and stop laughing at owners, thats rude. explain different possible options and help them, but do not impose your stupid ideas on them. We live there not you.

2020-08-06My name is John Mesko , sales manager , RA CHOWSKI , is a NOT any actual person currently under contract at Boght Meadows . During my 32 + career with HH , i have been a part of over 3000 new homes in the Area . It is our job to council buyers on the feasibility , cost and potential implications of structural changes . HH is one of the few builders left that still allow buyers to make significant structural changes without cost ! Im disappointed that personal , hurtful comments are levied , without even stating truthfully who you are so that your concern could be addressed ?
