This is a great hotel located near so many eclectic and fun restaurants that you can walk to. Its in a safe comfortable area with easy parking. The hotel is clean and inviting, the staff were very genuine, friendly, warm, and professional upon my arrival and checking in. The room was clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. I stayed in a queen room that also had a chair and stool which is so great instead of just the bed. Slightly bigger refrigerator than most hotels. Bathroom was small but clean and had a walk in shower. Bed was comfortable, pillows were all too soft but thats not a negative. They offer to provide different types of pillows, I just didnt ask for anything different. My stay was in November and the hotel just switched to heat, which was comfortable. They unlock the windows to allow for fresh air and cool the room if you want, which I did. It js a college town, so having my window open I could hear some college kids late (my room faced the hustle and bustle) but it wasnt an issue. I just closed the window. Overall, its a great location, great hotel, and wonderful staff. Rare things these days.
I chose this hotel based on how close it was to the arena. Check in was easy, upgraded to a suite, had a good/fast/ reasonably priced dinner before taking the 4 minute walk to the arena. Couldn’t be more convenient. Room was recently renovated and well appointed. Price for a beautiful room on a Friday night when there was a concert was extremely reasonable. Overall a perfect choice.
The location was perfect for what we needed, to be in Downtown Binghamton. The parking was easy, hotel check in was easy and staff super friendly. The decor is modern and up to date and felt very clean. The room was a perfect size, had a gorgeous view of the river, and we even commented how there were so many table tops and counter space to put our stuff on. There were convenient outlets everywhere. I was impressed with the cleanliness and how modern everything was. I dont usually stay in Holiday Inns but I will definitely stay in this one and look forward to trying more in the future as I travel very often.
Friendly and attentive staff. Hotel is big and has a nice pool and great views of the river. Room looks clean and neat. Pool has towels available on display which is great! Hotel has lots of open seating and various open areas and it is so close to nice places downtown. However, staff forgot to issue breakfast pass bought online and had to go back and forth between restaurant and front desk. Toilet in the room was not properly clean. Some hand sanitizer stations were not filled. Some plants in the pool are dying - not being watered.
Check in was easy and very friendly staff. Dinner had a very limited menu but we ate at the hotel anyway. The front desk employees had to cover the bar and cooking due to staff not showing up for work that night but we still enjoyed the staff. The handicap room was great for my 97 year old mother.
Its fine. Nothing spectacular. When we arrived their entire computer system had crashed so in order to get in to your room you had to be escorted by a hotel employee...each time because no key cards could be made. But we werent offered any discount for the inconvenience which seemed odd just some shrugs. There was pink mold in the shower pan and grey splotches on the sheets. But despite all this, Anthony who helped us get back into the room after returning from dinner was lovely and very helpful.
We stayed here during parents weekend the hotel was very clean the beds were super comfortable. Location was great. We stayed for two nights on our first night we were able to hear the people next-door very loudly through the connecting door. Second night was much quieter. Would definitely recommend this hotel
Had an excellent stay. Clean room, helpful staff. The hotel was clean. The staff was medium to cool on the friendly meter. It was frustrating that they didnt have a blanket or pillow alternative for down. I only had my little travel pillow to use, and had to ask for extra top sheets to use as a blanket
I have stayed here multiple times over the last couple of years and have never had any negative experiences. The front desk is friendly, attentive, and helpful. The rooms are nice (try to get one overlooking the river if possible) and its in a fantastic location for food and drinks.
One of the nicest hotels in the area. Can be improved to make 10 out if 10!Pros1. Location - city center, you can walk to many restaurants2. Updated rooms - some are spacious with a laundry area and kitchen3. Pool and fitness areas - nice4. Some staff are nice, Mark, Susan, and breakfast room staff (meals are great too)Cons1. Cleanness - they don’t vacuum corridors making the hotel look dirty. Also they don’t clean the most popular rooms first creating many unsatisfied customers.2. Room function - bathroom clogged and fridge leaked, a spider’s web in a window3. Some staff are not accommodating and rather rude.4. Pool opens only from 8:00am though the sign said from 7:00.
Room was nice. turned heat down when we left room for a wedding, when we returned th room was almost 89 degrees and very stuffy. called front desk and the maintenance man came up very quickly. he cracked the 2 windows and explained that the hvac only heats or cools cannot do both. should post directions above thermostat so clients can make a comfortable environment. room did not get comfortable until almost 5am. the maintenance man was very nice and helpful
This was our second stay in this hotel. Our first time in August the room was small and there was no way for two people to sleep in each bed without the person sleeping near the wall having to climb over the other person to get in or out. There were less then 6 inches between the bed and the wall. Our most recent stay was worse. The room was smaller. This time we had issues walking between the ends of the beds and the desk and tv counter. It was an extremely narrow space and we kept kicking the wheels on the desk chair. We tried moving it to a different space but there was no where else to put it. We also had the same issue with attempting to share beds. There was a small puddle on the floor of the bathroom when we arrived. The tub did not drain properly so when I was showering I had water building up that was over my ankles. There was also less then 1/2 a roll of toilet paper in the room and I had to go down to the desk to get more. The microwave was super high in the little cubby that food was spilling off the plate as we tried to get it in and out. I’m 5’3 and could have seriously been burned. The front desk staff was telling guests to park wherever they could when they said the parking lot was full. This caused people to park in handicapped spaces and in the ramp spaces for handicapped people making it almost impossible for me to get in and out of my car. They also parked on both sides of the “driveway” in front of the building which was also the entrance and exit. We were almost hit by another car as we came back to the hotel. One thing that the hotel probably couldn’t fix was the extremely loud music that started after 11 pm and went on until after 1 am. Then the 3 am brawl, after that restaurant and bar closed, that only ended when the police showed up. I told all of this to the front desk on two occasions, once to a man and the other as we were checking out to two women. They said oh I’m sorry about that and suggested they might be able to upgrade us on our next visit. I said it was doubtful we would ever stay there again and one if the women said she’d try to give us some extra points then said she wasn’t allowed to but she’d ask her manager if he could.
This was my first time at a hotel since the start of the pandemic. I was very nervous and the staff went out of their way to make me feel more comfortable. I was given a room on a lower floor (so stairs were an option) and they were extremely patient with my thousands of questions. The only reason sleep quality got 4 stars was because I just tend to sleep better at home - nothing against the hotel or the gigantic and super comfy bed. The room was spotless and I couldnt have asked for more.
Trying to foster a long distance relationship we came here first then 2 others in the general area. This place was hands down by far the best. They did not skimp at all on quaility for comfort. That is rare. The other places left out the microwave?? One left out the fridge and ice machine on the floor...im not going downstairs in my pjs to use a microwave..ice machine or fridge...sometimes its the small things that make all the difference..this place had them all. Me and the love of my life appreciate it.
So disappointed. The room was extremely hot and we were told to open a window, as the AC kicked out hot air. The windows were screwed shut. There were way too many smokers there who did not consider the signage asking them to. Not smoke on property. Our room was full of cigarettes smoke and we were there for a tennis camp. My daughter has asthma and was affected by this setting. Needless to say the 80 degree room and the smoke didn’t fare well for her.
The smallest room I have every stayed in. We could hardly move without banging into furniture or each other. The bathroom was equally as small. If you have a family of four the two queen bed rooms are to small to enjoy your stay. You will need to upgrade to a suite. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly and the location was great. Walkable to many cute restaurants.
The hotel itself is very beautiful, but the rooms could use more attention. The bathroom definitely needed cleaned better. The bathtub had soap scum in the corners and the toilet smelled like urine. Our air conditioning unit did not work well either. We could not get the temperature below 72 degrees. Aside from that, the bed was comfortable and we slept well. We are a family of five and have three children. We specifically chose this hotel so that we could swim. We checked in late, so didnt have time to go swimming until the next morning and then we found out the pool was closed due to people throwing stuff into it the night before and it needing to be cleaned. That was very disappointing, but we did receive a discount for the inconvenience. We chose to stay another night in hopes that the pool would be open and we will get to swim. My husband and our oldest is 8 years old got to use the pool for a bit, but our daughter is not a good swimmer yet and the whole pool is that a minimum of 4 ft deep, so they didnt stay in Long due to the fact that she couldnt touch the bottom. Im only mentioning this because I know how important it is to us. We have small children and specifically choose hotels with pools so they can enjoy swimming and I wish the website was more specific about the depth of the pool. The air conditioning wasnt the best and our day there was a bit hotter than the first, so we couldnt get the room below 72°the entire day along with the following morning by the time we had to check out at 11:00. It was nice to be discounted for the first nights stay for the inconvenience of not being able to use the pool, but I feel we should have been compensated for the second night as well since we are miserably hot due to the sucky air conditioning unit.
Customer service was very good, the rooms are newly updated and nice. But.... the clean factor was very lacking. Especially the floors. There was a bit of hair & chip crumbs on the bathroom floor. There was dog food and other debris on the carpet throughout. We dont expect it to be perfect, but it was a bit excessive. They did offer for us to change rooms but it was going to be too late in the evening to move, no other compensation was offered.
Hotel was good. Breakfast waitress Krista was over and above! She was kinder than most, efficient and just really genuinely warm in her interaction with my mom and I. She made our stay a 10! However, there were loud roudy kids on our floor and always had wet floors between pool and elevators. Understood a family was staying there while their home was repaired so easy enough to look past. Hard to keep kids calm anywhere, especially cooped up in a hotel I imagine.
Stayed one night and the accommodations were excellent. Mark at the Front Desk welcomed us and thanked us for staying. He was a true professional and explained all the amenities of the hotel. The room and lobby of the hotel were particularly clean. Plenty of free parking.
On arrival only one staff member was at the front desk and completely swamoed with checkins. I had called earlier to upgrade(and pay for) to a king room and was told there wasnt any (this comes into play in a moment). When we got to the room my wife found a dirty thong hanging from the shower curtin. Front desk was notified and we were told to come down for a different room. Stood in line for another 20 minutes to be given a room with a king bed. Ended up missing 20 min of the game we were in town for. Front desk was apologetic and did best to fix the issue
I have previously stayed at this hotel and was very satisfied. However, this experience was awful. The AC did not work. Our room was unbearably hot. And, we could not even open a window. When I reported this to the front desk, I was told Yea, everyone complains about it. There is nothing we can do. The AC is shut off on a certain date and the heat gets turned on. If this is a known problem, why hasnt it been fixed?Such a shame, the room was so nice but we couldnt even enjoy it let alone, get a comfortable and restful nights sleep.
Needed a night because rental cars were a bit of an issue... that said this place was like 11 miles away from the shop and Im a platinum member here so I looked for these hotels. That said conveniently located and rentals werent that far away but were mostly inconviently sold out so I stayed a day and got a good room. There was a ton of stuff nearby and within walking distance.
Do not recommend this property if you need a room that is bigger than a closet!! If you are looking for a room with a king size bed this is not the place for you, since even though they advertise that size room/bed, upon checking in you will be informed that that size room/bed doesnt exist in the entire hotel and they will put you in a room with a double bed! Most of the bathrooms including the tub are smaller than most public handicap accessible stalls. If you plan on parking your car good luck!! because if there are any events taking place at the arena, they rent out the entire parking lot even when the hotel is completely booked!! If you address this with the evening manager he seems to take any criticism as a personal attack on him and might offer you a bottle of water in compensation. Lastly, only stay here if you enjoy a sauna because you will roast in the rooms between the Fall until late Spring because apparently they have an old system that only has high heat or AC but cannot support both at the same time! Also, save your money on the breakfast because the food was almost inedible!!
Lady at front desk was not pleasant. I understand the systems are down but we dont need to seem like an inconvenience. Made an unprofessional comment about a Co worker. That Co worker turned out to be awesome. Very personable and was super nice. His name was Tommy I believe.
I was happily surprised by how nice the this hotel is. It didn’t feel like I was staying in a Holiday Inn. The staff was super welcoming. My suite was beautiful, modern and overlooked the river. My food was also delicious. You can tell that this hotel is well-managed. It far exceeded my expectations and I look forward to returning.
This place is great! Everything about the hotel and our room was very clean, and the decor made it comfortable to relax in. All the employees we interacted with were friendly and helpful. Its also in a great location, right near several streets of bars, restaurants, and some shopping.
The hotel is nice, clean and conveniently located. All staff were attentive and polite--both of the women working the lounge bar were especially friendly and provided great service.I do have to adjust the rating due to the complete uselessness of the hotels HVAC system. Upon entering the room the temp was 76 degrees even though the thermostat was set to cool it to 62. We left for several hours to let it do its job and came back to a room that was even hotter. I was told that the system simply does not work and that any adjustments I make would be futile. The hotel did attempt to remedy the situation by unlocking my window so that it could be opened about 3 inches but that barely made a difference. All common areas of the hotel were equally hot and uncomfortable. Its a shame because this hotel was otherwise a great value and a perfect option for downtown Binghamton, but it was absolutely miserable trying to get comfortable for a multi-day stay.
This hotel is wonderful! Very centrally located, clean, accommodating, and has everything you need! My one and only negative remark is that the beds, although very comfortable, are way too high! Im only 411 inches, and it was a chore to get in them! Otherwise, I will definately stay there again!
I really dont even know where to start, the outdated rooms, the bugs that invade your room looked like ants or something, they say free wifi with your stay yeah we ended using our own data because it kept telling us we werent guest there! Definitely will not be staying there again.
The staff was awesome! Susan was terrific and the breakfast staff was also terrific. The hotel rooms were not....this place needs some extra attention to detail. Not clean at all and Im being nice. It looked like they were checking it in. I like the Holiday Inn brand....wanted to like this one....however they have some work to do.
The decorations for the Fall season were lovely. We were fortunate to stay before and after Thanksgiving and were able to view both Fall and Holiday decorations. It really makes a difference for brightening up ones spirits after what weve been through with this stubborn virus.
The hotel was clean, modern, great location for downtown and the room was quite large with a separate space. Downside was I wanted an accessible room but the bathroom had a tub. Due to covid, only 3 items on breakfast menu and very slow service. But, overall, really enjoyed it.
My family and I used this Holiday Inn as the midway stopping point for our trip back to Maine. We had great service and they provided us with a list of restaurants in walking distance from the hotel. Our rooms where comfortable and clean. They take the extra step to throughly clean the room and you can tell. In this trying time you need that if you are going to travel. I give it 5 starts. It was a great stay.
Another Holiday Inn that was clean. We stayed here due to our great experience in the New Columbia, PA Holiday Inn. They allow pets, too. We have a little dog with Addisons who recently went through crisis, so wanted to keep an eye on her. Being able to have her with us was important. Shes very well behaved and quiet anyway. Staff was personable, and seemed to manage the large quantity of people coming in. They were about $60 more expensive in tally than the one in PA, but didnt mind too much due to the cleanliness, which is a win for us. Also a win was their breakfast. Though not free like the one in PA, for $13.99, all you can eat and they serve you; not bad. Extra kudos to Lori-Starr; a real asset there! She was outstanding; hard worker, super personality, and goes above and beyond for customers.
I used to enjoy coming to this hotel. The staff was always courteous and knowledgeable. My stay this past weekend was so disappointing. My room was atrocious. I found a half eaten candy bar in one of the drawers. Also, there was pills in the drawer too. I had my 8 year old daughter with me and I am so grateful that she’s smart enough no to ingest those things. I know Ali Visram and Candace Baughman would NEVER let it get like this. I’m so disappointed. Then when I took my daughter to the restaurant to get something to eat there was no host/hostess to greet us. The bartender literally yelled across the room and said “you can sit wherever just sit where I can see you” Are you kidding me?!. I’m so disappointed.
One of the better hotels in the area. Its clean, well maintained (which is hard to find in hotels near Binghamton University) and I was able to relax after a long drive. The room rate was quite high by normal standards but with the past year, the pandemic and other factors its become something that is to be expected. The only issue was the noise. You can hear people flushing the toilets, and the noise of the doors opening and closing is pretty loud,. Also, the late night live music (not sure where it was coming from) and sirens from ambulances / police cars echo very loudly in that vicinity. However i was exhausted from traveling so i did manage to fall asleep.
After 18 months of Covid protocols we were not enthusiastic to find this hotel unable to adhere to masking guidelines. Overall the hotel, room, and facilities were of good quality, and the staff friendly, however few front desk and no dining room staff followed masking protocol, no were guests being reminded to mask indoors. We also found our guest room had little sound-proofing. Noise from the hall, floor above and floor below were evident through the night.
So unless the service is above and beyond, I don’t take the time to review anything. However, this is my third week staying at this holiday inn and the service is excellent. Every Monday when I arrive, the manager mark remembers me and greets me. Him and his new hire Susan are both friendly and accommodating. I appreciate the level of customer service they bring to the table and plan on staying at the holiday inn for never several years of schooling.
The worst part of the check-in was when muy credit card was declined twice. The manager was able to run it without incident. My first room had a leak in the ceiling of the bathroom that was dropping all over the sink and floor. The staff moved me to another, comparable room. The room was clean and well kept. I was in an ADA room, and it took me quite awhile to figure out how to make the window coverings work; there were no directions. Also, no tv channel printed guide. I do wish three parking lot was bigger. Its kind of right to get into a space with a full size pickup truck.
Pros- Walking distance to restaurants and bars. Free parking, pool, specious room with a kitchen (a separate living area). Clean. Great staff at a breakfast room/restaurant. Cons- we had issues at the checkin with Jennie who was utterly rude, but it was rectified by Mark and Susan. Pool start time should be observed as indicated. If there is a hot tub it would be nicer. A bath tub in a room is a plus.
We ended up with the wrong room. They could not give us the room we paid for and they had no heat our room was 63 degrees called down to ask for help and was told they could not do anything about the heat to keep the thermostat off. Our bathroom had hair all in the sink they could have done a better job cleaning and the remote for our TV was broken
We were on a road trip and stopped in the Holiday Inn for a restful night! our check-in staff was so friendly and caring! our suite was beautiful and spotless !the general manager did a great job of making us feel wanted and valued! I would recommend this to anyone that wants a clean beautiful relaxing place to stay, Covid clean and wonderful staff!
Positive: Location was the best. Updates hotel Negative: All Ice machines had mold. Check in staff was trying to get rid of me after just asking if it was possible to check in early. When I went back she assumed what room I had and declined check in at 2pm instead of verifying if there was any available rooms.
Absolutely amazing customer service! Sam made sure we were well taken care of and everything in the room was perfect for us. Social distancing was a priority and the facility was immaculately clean. The hotel is in walking distance of all the fun bars, restaurants, art galleries, and shops. I highly, highly recommend for your next stay!
The staff that was here was awesome, and I had a very nice room with a comfortable bed. Slept like a baby rock. Complimentary breakfast was clutch and ready right on time.Great value stay. And go to the pizza bar across the street. It’s called Stone Fox. The bartenders are awesome.
I was able to very comfortably balance a family stay here for two days while also working remotely. The staff there was awesome and helped me find some quiet places to be able to work when needed. Susan at the front desk was awesome! An added bonus to this stay was that Binghamton was a neat city with great places to eat and comfortably walk around. Overall a great little find and great stay.
Beautiful hotel right on the river, has great and friendly service, everyone was smiley and helpful. I had a clean room with an amazingly comfortable bed that had great pillows. Pillows make the the room for me as I have an injured neck and I slept comfortably with no issues. The room has a great size mini refrigerator that we transferred the drinks from our road trip cooler into. The bathroom was beautifully lit with a backlit mirror. Overall I would say this was a great experience. I would definitely stay here again.
Enjoyed our stay while visiting BU. We chose this hotel because it was pet friendly. Very comfortable beds. Good for a family of 5 and pooch. Nice modern decor, spacious and clean. Although there is a kitchenette (microwave, mini fridge, sink) in the room there were no cups / plates, cutlery, etc. Luckily we had our own, but I would have expected a few items. Staff were friendly but not very helpful. We needed an extra towel but didnt receive it - ended up going to get one from the pool. Also the sofa bed had a sheet but no comforter or blanket. We realized that at around 9 pm when getting ready for bed. Called the front desk to request one. Again waited but no response. Called again, only to be told that housekeeping had left for the night. We had to explain to the front desk that we could not wait till the next morning for a blanket. Eventually, maintenance was contacted and around 10 pm we got bedding for the sofa bed.
My husband and I are very disgusted with our stay this time (3/11-3/13) I would think being a regular and the amount of money and time that you spend at the hotel that you would be guaranteed a room thats a king suite like we always have been but it all depends on whos working the front desk apparently but this is like the 4th or 5th time that weve been at this hotel and had to change rooms because the room was left a mess like it wasnt even clean hair all over the place floors dirty garbage left all over
We had a relaxing and comfortable stay at Holiday Inn Downtown Binghamton. The location is great for walking to local food and drink. Great views over the river. The room was clean, bright, great walk in shower, comfortable bed. The staff were friendly, very helpful. Overall a great experience for staying in Binghamton. We will definitely stay here again.
I had the worst experience at the hotel. I had driven 4 hours and from the moment I stepped on the hotel grounds the experience was terrible. There were people smoking right outside, and for non-smokers or asthmatic guests it is terrible having to breath that from the moment you arrive. Also, I had to switch rooms twice. The first time they gave me the keys for a room that was occupied. The keys wouldn’t work, so they sent someone up to open the door. Once he did, oh surprise! There were people in there! Then, the next room had green mold in the windows and smelled like wet dog. The bathroom had a plastic over in the tub that covered what it looked like paint stains all over. Relaxing bath? No way. I called again and aske d the front desk for a new room on the same floor bc at that point at what exhausted and terribly upset since I was using the luggage cart to move my things from room to room. They changed it. Finally the last room was usable, however it had the same disgusting problem in the tub, hence I couldn’t take a bath to relax after my long drive and hauling my luggage from floor to floor. It was terrible. People were noisy, and I couldn’t wait to leave the next day.
Our stay would have been fine had we not been assigned a room next to a group who had loud music playing from the time we checked in at 3pm until we called the front desk to complain at 3am. They responded promptly but we felt that the noise disturbance should have been noticed by hotel staff/security and taken care of much earlier. The group resumed the loud music a few hours later at 9am.
Staff was very friendly, answered questions and offered suggestions for restaurants in the area. Room was very clean. The room was very hot 80 degrees. When I addressed this to the front desk I was informed because it was November the AC was turned off. But they opened the window and put a fan in the room. Room cooled off in no time. Will definitely stay at this location again. I will have to return again when the restaurant and bar are open
Booked this hotel for a weekend for Binghamton Graduation. Have never stayed here before as we always stay at another hotel in Binghamton however, they were booked solid. I dont feel it is applicable to triple the standard rate just because it was graduation. The rooms were clean, beds very comfortable and great breakfast with amazing service.
While the staff was very nice, and the hotel location is great for visiting downtown Binghamton, I will absolutely avoid any hotel that is pet friendly. The carpets in the hallway looked like they hadnt been vacuumed in weeks, and the two rooms we were in both smelled like wet dog.
Upon my arrival I was advised of checking that pool was open and room details and location. I stayed for 2 nights however upon return back to the room on day 2 I found my room wasnt cleaned however it was 10pm at night and nothing I could do so I had to reuse towels and had no coffee for the next morning. When I mentioned it to the desk staff when checking out I was faced with thats our policy due to covid. I explained that I had stayed in other holiday inns during covid and my room was cleaned and refreshed with items. I was then advised you have to request your room to be cleaned upon arrival. How am I supposed to know this if I wasnt informed when checking in? All I recieved was a Im Sorry and gave me my recipe. I was upset due to being advised what felt like a cop out I didnt even notice my paperwork, when I got home (8hr drive) I realized the front desk staff gave me someone elses check out recipe and makes me wonder what happened to mine with my info on it?
Checked-in and was given a room on the 3rd Floor. When i came back to the hotel after dinner, I could not get in my room. Without notice they moved my room and belongings to another room on the 7th floor. When asked, nobody could give me a reason. Worst yet, a staff member packed up our cloths that were out of our suit cases. During a pandemic, it killed us to think that someone touch our belongings. We later found out that an item was stolen of our bag. We have filed a police report with the Binghamton Police Department. Now get this, the manager (Sam) the next day called and was very understanding and admitted that the personnel just screwed up and said the night stay would not be charged. Guess what, I was charge for half of the cost of the room. Never had an experience like this before. Still to this day, never received a call back from the manager since we reported a stolen item with the police department. Always had prior positive experiences with Holiday Inn. This was horrible.
Ive never been to Binghamton, so I did not know what a nice city it was to visit. I also was not aware of the view from the side of the hotel we were given a room on. The river view was beautiful. The room we had we could tell had been updated and had a great shower and a very comfortable king sized bed. The staff were all very friendly and courteous. We had a very enjoyable stay!
Check in was difficult as the staff struggled on how to check my wife in as she was not on my membership. No problem at other locations. The room was dirty, had to wipe it down upon entry. Decided to leave and the staff asked why. Told them the rooms were dirty, offered another room although we were concerned. With a Worldwide pandemic in place for over one year one would think Holiday Inn would have Sterile rooms like other chain hotels.
We came to help my daughter move into her new apartment. Shes a Grad. student and wanted to get situated a little early. This hotel was close and convenient to her apt. and downtown. Other than the restaurant and some of the amenities being closed due to COVID - the stay itself was very nice - and quiet and clean!
We picked this hotel primarily because of the lit and security patrolled parking lot because we were hauling kayaks for our overnight stay.Hotel was more than adequate. Only minor issue was someone staying in the room immediately next to us with so many other vacancies in the hotel. Made for a noisy start to the morning.
I stayed here for a 2 day conference. This place is located right in the downtown area and close to everything. Good restaurants within walking distance and the conference was just next door.Free parking for all customers. Room had all the amenities as promised, was clean and in good condition. Quiet, with both AC and heat.Customer service was excellent. Check-in and checkout was seamless. The General Manager, Tony, was extremely approachable and helpful. He responded immediately when there was a problem with equipment in the gym and he made sure I got my gym workout despite those issues. This staff wants to make sure your stay is a great experience.Overall an excellent place with not too many frills but surely comfort and satisfaction taken care of. I will stay here whenever I visit the Binghamton area again!
Arrived after my truck broke down got my room upgrade for being a platinum member so I got a suite. After a short 2.3 mile walk to Walmart (sadly no shuttle but 2.3 isnt that bad) to get a few things I forgot in the truck I wandered the hotel. They have a lawyer, driving school, hair stylist, restaurant, and more that Ive forgotten...
If you need a great hotel and are traveling with a pet, this is your home away from home. My pet loves walking around the hotel area. The hotel has taken the proper precautions to prevent the spread of Covid19. There are several hand sanitizers throughout the building. Gatherings have been limited. Staff have their masks on. You can feel safe at this hotel. The surrounding restaurants have delicious food within walking distance that is take-out capable.
Stayed at the Bing Holiday Inn for a night while visiting our Bearcat son. The room (a queen double suite with a kitchenette) was spacious and very clean, the beds very comfortable. The hotel is right in downtown Bing, close to restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.
We have been coming to this hotel for many years. The latest updates on the hotel rooms are phenomenal. We absolutely loved our stay. With all of the things that have been going on in recent months this was our only semi vacation. We were so glad that we did this. Thank you to the staff and everybody that works at this hotel you are doing an amazing job.
Mark Nasoni the front desk manager is the worst. He was very rude to my husband, after we booked a room and he gave us the wrong room. We called him from the room and tried to explain it to him but he kept going back and forward with him. We told him we would come down to show the reservations but said that was not his fault and proceeded to raise his voice at my husband. My husband told him to cancel the room and that he would be calling the corporate office (after being on hold for a hour or so). We called the 3rd party booking agent she even tried to call Mark to see if he could accommodate it but said NO. So my husband said I will just book what we thought we had booked from the start. My husband stood at the desk for about 20 minutes after Mark is walking back and forward like he is so busy didn’t even look at my husband to see if he needed help with something. He told me that he is still waiting for him to help him, so I asked him could we book a room he said I refuse to book you a room and to get off of the property. So I asked why Mark said we canceled the reservation. I told him not that one we want to book through the hotel not 3rd party. He said no and that he was calling to police on us (with our 2 kids as well). I asked him what are you going to tell the police and told me he didnt have to have a reason. I told him just you do how are you going to call the police with no reason. Police came asked him what was going on then asked us i told him the story. 3 policemen all said the same story this is not the 1st time he has done someone like this, and he is still refuses to give us a room. They told us to file a complaint on him and that is what we are going to do. Mark Nason is the worst.
We had extremely loud neighbors, and when I complained the next morning, I wasn’t the only one who had a poor night’s sleep. As an IHG rewards member, I was promised a return of points on my account. On checking this, I only received 250 points. Staff was great! Room was beautiful! Bed was wonderful! But the reason I choose IHG is for their consistency. Not this time.
Mark made my husband and Is experience one to remember especially during these trying times. From his restaurant recommendations, to his hospitality, it was simply amazing! I came upstate to take my cosmetology stateboard exam and was super nervous about it but with Marks help, I was able to feel relaxed and even crack a few jokes. We enjoyed our experience so much, we stayed an extra day. I would have stayed the entire week if ai had my work computer with me! Although I had a short interaction with Tiffany, she was also so very pleasant. The Holiday Inn at Binghamton Downtown will definitely be apart of my weekend getaways! Thank you so much Mark for your kindness and hospitality. You truly left a stamp on our hearts. - Kyle
Staff is one of a kind! A++. From the receptionist and concierge to business management team, everyone is customer oriented and detail oriented. They listen to your needs and deliver above expectations. Not to mention the location is in the heart of the city, making most everything within walking distance! One of the best Holiday Inns I have ever stayed at! Highly recommended. Special thanks to Jess and all of the receptionist
No A/C in this building once the temperature drops. They shut the A/C off completely, which should be made known prior to, or at the time of booking.Requested early check-in as I was driving from 4-hours away, called and confirmed it prior to arrival and said it wouldnt be a problem, upon arrival I was rudely told there was no early check-in and told to come back at 3pm.I was offered a free bottle of water for all of these issues.Would not recommend this hotel.
The room thermostat was broken. It was 78 when we arrived. We could not get the temperature to drop, so we turned the thermostat off. It’s 75 after 36 hours of being turned off, but it’s freezing outside, so clearly something is broken. The shower is very finicky, there’s a strong smoke odor in the hallway. Just very dated. Pillows were horrible. For the price and the fact that breakfast is not provided, it just wasn’t meeting my expectations. The staff interaction we had was fine. I’m sure they’re nice people. The hotel was just not worth the price tag- I wish I’d gone a few minutes into the suburbs and paid less while getting a free breakfast.
I stayed here just for 1 night on a stopover from Toronto to New York.Location :This place is located right in the downtown area and close to all amenities. There are a couple of shopping malls nearby and a number of good restaurants around. One side of the hotel has city view while the other has a river view.Amenities : Free parking is available to all customers. Room has all the amenities as promised and in good condition. Did not use the Restaurant, Swimming Pool or the Gymnasium but all looked to be very well maintained.Customer Service : This was definitely the highlight. Check-in and checkout was seamless. The Duty manager Alex, was an extremely nice gentleman to speak to and made sure we had all that we needed. Also I had a couple of special request which he helped us immediately.Overall an excellent place with not too many frills but surely comfort and satisfaction taken care of. I know where to stay whenever I happen to be here again.
My room was clearly not cleaned recently as the bathroom water was brownish when first turned on and there was dirt on the floors. Then when I went to get breakfast I watched the chef or cook yell at the waitress/hostess more than once in front of me and other guests. Very disrespectful and unprofessional.
I kid you not, the front desk assumed I was 14 and asked where my parent was (Im over 30), and when I went down in the morning I found out the hard way that breakfast is not included in your rate. Super weird policy. Also, the rooms feel like Im in The Shining. The cleaning staff was nice, though. Overall, I felt unwelcome and like I was more of a nuisance than a welcome paying customer/ guest. I switched hotels mid-stay to something much better and asked my company never to book a room there for me.
Rooms are clean and comfy, staff are always friendly, and facilities are nice additions. Whenever my family visits, Alex at the front desk is super helpful and friendly! The pool is great and the gym is enough for a workout or two. No breakfast included but thats okay, especially with Chriss Diner a 5 minute walk away. This is THE place we stay at when visiting the area!
Overall the experience was just short of a 4 star hotel with 4 being the higest, I was disappointed with the food especially when I paid $12.95 buffet breakfast but I ate there twice because I wasnt sure where to eat.. I do plan on a next summer visit in a June or July attempt
We were attending a wedding and staying at the hotel. The staff at the front desk was very slow, but the room was nice, and clean. The walls were somewhat thin, we could hear people walking by our door from the bed. We went for the breakfast option and the food was fine, nothing special, although the hostess was really slow getting us a table despite the restaurant being fairly empty. Overall, it was an average hotel stay and it got the job done with no major problems.
My wife and I were visiting for a couple of days and this was the perfect place to stay. Although the restaurant was closed, we were provided with a guide to places in the area where we could go and eat. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel and stay here again.
The hotel was clean and safe to start during the pandemic but it was overpriced for not having the restaurant open. I could’ve saved $100 staying at a just as nice hotel without a restaurant but I picked the holiday inn due to I was out of town for a few days without transportation and needed food options. The website did not say the restaurant was closed which was frustrating to find out when I got there.
The WORST Experience Ever! The front desk manager (Mark Nasoni) was Very Very Unprofessional. Went on business trip and ended up having law enforcement called out with no explanation of why other than he was refusing me service because I didnt want the room (2 doubles) he had given me when I reserved a suite! If I had the option this location would have zero stars.
Excellent hotel staff!! If you need anything or have any questions they are very knowledgeable and personable. Clean rooms and a clean facility that has extra ammenities as other businesses use part of the building. I only encountered two issues here, the little issue was the laundry room. Although it is open 24 hours only having one washer and dryer was not ideal at all. The major issue I encountered was the restaurant in the hotel. I will never go again. The service was extremely slow and out of the four in my group of a single person was happy with their meal, from over cooked, super oily, not flavor at all (even the pesto was bland), to microwaved potatoes that were absolutely disgusting. Due to the lack of timeliness the waitress comped all the alcohol at the table before we even received our entrees. I later found out that giving away coupon cards for alcohol for every issue is normal. Aside from the restaurant experience it was a very enjoyable stay and I will stay again, but I will eat out every night.
The hotel was clean the rooms were neat tidy bathrooms well-stocked. The hotel pool was comfortable pleasant to use. The food in the restaurant was prepared quickly attractively and was very tasty. But the hotel does show signs of its age in the carpeting appearing well worn.
Enjoyable experience from booking over the phone to checking in and out. We were pleasantly surprised by our room - it was in decent shape. Clean enough for a good nights rest. It didn’t have any bad smells or rot.. it was a nice stay. Would recommend ! Oh and breakfast was beyond my expectation. Great service overall!
I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They were quite knowledgeable about the local area when asked. The rooms are not that roomy, but they have enough space for you to spread out a bit and move about freely. Everything was clean and well maintained.
My friend and I attended the Holiday Inn, Binghamton Thanksgiving Day Dinner, Th, 11/28/19, and I will say that it was wonderful. The selection was great, the food was excellent and the service that we received from our server, Ms Krista, a young lady, was just awesome. She was extremely attentive to our needs; she was pleasant, positive, always smiled and was cordially interactive as well. She helped to make our short stay at your Holiday Inn a memorable time for our Thanksgiving Day Holiday. We always so appreciate the terrific service and repast of your lovely hotel. We wanted you to know our feelings, and we intend to continue patronizing the Holiday Inn, Binghamton, New York.Alan P NeJame,Binghamton, New York
Friendly staff and lobby. The rest of it went down hill from there. The rooms are very small and musty. Laundry room there is only one washer and drier and the soap dispenser was broke. The place down stairs to have breakfast was bad. They came and took our order and another table came in. They got there food and was done before we got ours. I have stayed at Holiday Inn Expresses that are better then this and those are always a nightmare.
This is a wonderful property for dog owners and families returning for move-in day at Binghamton University. Business execs will not have a problem with wifi. Connectivity is key! The hotel will accommodate for certain needs during covid19. The area is surrounded by restaurants who offer delicious meals.
GREAT STAFF! The river view is beautiful and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Marco, along with the rest of the team, made the stay in New York memorable and pleasant. I stayed here three weeks and could not find a single complaint, plus the location is the best around. I originally selected this hotel since they had the best gym and pool I could find, but the entire experience turned out great. Whether stopping through, or in town for business, I would recommend giving this place a try.
I called this hotel three weeks in advance of my birthday to see if they had a suite with a hot tub. They did! I asked for that room the night of the 16th, and they said they would write down that request.A few days later I had this funny feeling that I needed to call back, which I did. I spoke to reservations and they said they had no record of such a request. Okay, figured, but now I was assured that the request was in there. Great!I called the week of my birthday as a courtesy to let them know that Id be having some people over to celebrate, and they said no problem, thanks for letting us know, and no one had requested the room so I was good to go, see you Saturday.I get there on Saturday, and yup, you guessed it, the room had been booked. Apparently someone had come in and booked it for the weekend, so they gave me the boot.Heres the thing: if you promise me the room, and Im a rewards member (whats the point?), either call me and let me know the room is no longer available so I can try and make other plans, or, you know, stick to your promise. Give the other people the room Friday, and allow me to use it Saturday. The staff was friendly, especially Doug, who showed me the suite I had been booked while I decided if I still wanted to stay there, then brought extra chairs and cups to my room when I did.The room I got was fine, and everything else youd expect out of a hotel, but man, that left a bad taste in my mouth.
The location of the hotel entrance is easily noticeable, but the road it is on is a bit of a blind spot. The parking lot attendant was very friendly and informative about parking. The front desk personnel were all very respectful and courteous. They asked how many keys I wanted and directed me to the closest elevator. The room was very clean.
The Holiday Inn in Downtown Binghamtom is a real gem! The view from the outside is very welcoming & upon stepping through the main doors, you are immediately struck by the beautiful, reception area. Light and airy, and very spacious - very inviting. Mark and Alex at the front desk were very professional, friendly and extremely helpful. The breakfasts were amazing, a wonderful selection, and again, the A+ Staff were very efficient and helpful in making the stay fun and enjoyable. The location of the hotel is great - right in the middle of most attractions, which are within walking distance. The room I had was very spacious and well equipped with all essentials. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to visitors to Binghamton! Thank you Holiday Inn Downtown Binghamton for making my stay so special.
Rooms are very small. It is such a tight space on one side of the bed you can tell housekeeping has rarely cleaned in that corner. There was someone elses sock still in the floor. Staff is very friendly and food in the hotel was typical average good hotel fare. I was here for a conference, I would not choose this hotel in the future on my personal time.
As far as holiday inns go this one was pretty nice. Someone left a sock in my room and research shows that most lost socks end up in hotel room floors. The breakfast buffet was lackluster. The staff was a bit disorganized. The pool was fantastic though. Heavy chlorine which is good for killing the grossness of multitudes of people swimming in it. Holiday inn really trying to recapture its former glory. Keep trying guys. Free parking is a bonus.
Not at all what I was expecting. Run-down, not a good area. We were put on a quiet floor yet there were people laying in the hallway, being loud. The laundry room had only one washer and one dryer. Its not bad for a low end hotel but thats not what I was expecting from the reviews. I was expecting a nice hotel, this is not it.
Nice hotel and great location, right downtown. Comfortable mattress in the room, and a great view if you’re on the river side. The only downside to the hotel is they have a lot of rules, including what they call the “3S’s”: No Smoking, Shouting, or Swearing. And they have quite hours starting at 9 pm. Now, I’m not one to smoke or shout and swear much anyway, but a hotel telling me we need to be quiet at a downtown hotel at 9 pm is a little strict. Those are common courtesies everyone should follow, but I don’t think a hotel should mandate it.
The reception was very pleasant. The room was clean and quiet. The bed was new. The hotel is very nice. I have stayed here before. The epic fail is the dining room. Absolutely no ambiance and cold. The food was terrible. The battered fish I had was a frozen packaged product not at all appealing. The service was just the minimum. If it hadn’t been pouring rain I would have gone out for dinner.
Located right in the middle of downtown Binghamton this hotel had plenty of parking, a grand entry, a restaurant and meeting rooms. My family and I stayed there one night with two rooms. The receptionist was welcoming. The rooms are older, smaller than newer hotels but very, very clean. The view was of the city and write nice at night. The beds were full size which some people find too small but they were comfortable with nice pillows and comforters on the luxurious side. Nice, big tub for a soak in a pretty small bathroom which was well stocked with large fluffy white towels. WiFi worked fine. Didnt use the TV but it was a newer flat screen model.
Staff was AMAZING. We had 3 small dogs with us, which we expected their presence to be a burden to the fellow guests and staff, but EVERYONE looked so happy to have them there. Very friendly, and not in the superficial staff way (I have been a in the service industry before). No, this staff was GENUINELY personable and nice. From the men walking around inside keeping the place clean, to the front desk people, to the bartender, the breakfast host, all were amazing to be around. It is nice to be in an atmosphere where the staff seem to be treated well and/ or genuinely like their job. We will be coming here every time we want a short vacation from our local home :)
Gorgeous hotel. It has the feel of a mall inside with different office spaces and retailers. They had many conference rooms available, and each is beautifully decorated. Easy to spot off the road, and they have a decent amount of parking available. A great spot to rent out a room for an event. I did not stay in the hotel itself.
Stayed on 3/16/18 -3/18/18 and it was a very poor experience. Long check in times. No towels at the pool. Room never cleaned between days. Restaurant service was extremely slow. People were up talking and yelling in the hallway until 1am. I realize it was a busy weekend with the games but when you charge $150 per night you should hire some extra staff. It looked like it could of been a very likable place if staffed properly.
I had a great one night stay at this hotel. I arrived late, was greeted by friendly staff and found my room clean and cool. Sleep like the dead and woke up feeling refreshed and 10 years younger. I would stay here anytime I find myself in Binghamton. Highly recommended for a long or short stay. You should have no reservations about booking your reservation.
Decent hotel. Big pool. Breakfast not included. No cream or sugars for coffee in room. Has a microwave and fridge in room. Beds are comfy. Asked several times for adjoining rooms as we are traveling with our kids. I was assured this would not be an issue several times, then at check in was told it was not possible.

2022-04-30This Holiday Inn was amazing! Even with a concert at the venue next door and sports teams in town, the staff were amazing. Every place we went was clean and the staff continued cleaned common areas. Our room was fabulous! Ask for a room ending in an odd number. You will have a view of the river and not the parking lot. Our room was way more than we anticipated.

2022-04-25We stayed at the HI-Binghamton Downtown due to the storm knocking power in our neighborhood. The front desk staff was very kind and accommodating. Not sure how busy things are normally, but the hotel sold out due to the storm and utilities folks booking rooms to stay during the repairs. Our room was quiet and the floor is a quiet floor after 9pm which was great. Lots of nearby places to grab a bite or order delivery.Power did go out for about 1-1.5hrs. They had a generator but it was reserved to power the elevators only. Once power came back, it never went out again for the duration of our stay.Hotel is pet friendly (theres a fee).Only reason for a 4 is because the window could only open about 2-3 inches and the room was HOT. We brought a fan and turned off the heat and that helped.

2022-06-21Positive: The front desk attendant was very nice and welcoming. We enjoyed the breakfast Buffett. Negative: Our room was street side 2nd floor and we could hear people outside until all hours. We could also clearly hear the room next door to us.

2022-03-08Very nice accommodations. Front desk staff could be a little more friendly. Always felt as if I was bothering them or interrupting their time on their personal calls. Very nice conference center and rooms. Really like it there though!

2022-01-05Ive stayed here many times and have had fine experiences. It sits at a great location for doing whatever youd like downtown and throughout the area. However, the past couple of times I have stayed here the rooms have been barely cleaned and overall quite dirty. New Years Day we woke up to a thick layer of dust on the counters and floors. This was disturbing and I proceeded to go show the front desk. It turned out there was an issue at the hotel the week prior that included a fire extinguisher. The lady at the front desk understood this was unacceptable but besides docking my bill slightly, nothing really happened. At the very least my room should have been free and the staff should have been willing to make sure these rooms get cleaned, as I am sure mine was not the only one. I have added the photos to show what we were dealing with.

2022-04-26Great location, small amenities added, small gym made the hotel feel welcoming and comfortable given that we are living in a pandemic. Though I wish there was a little more push to wear masks, everything was clean and well managed.

2022-03-18The heat was set at 86° tonight and could not be changed. All rooms the same. As we arrived an ambulance was taking someone away. Small wonder when the heat was oppressive. Some of my group could pry open window not me.Room 120

2022-05-15Great location for the Visions Arena, which is across the street. Elevators are slow. Pool was really big for an indoor pool, but no steps to get in, only a ladder. Rooms were clean.

2022-02-23Room was really Clean. Pool was nice. Hotel was really busy with activities which made parking a little difficult but we found one eventually. Nice view
