We had the one king bed room and it was spacious and comfortable. The AC worked well and the bathroom was nice as well. It had a lot of room. The breakfast is amazing here!! You have a lot of choices to pick from. They have a nice pool. We didn’t go in but it seems like a lot of people enjoyed it. Overall, it’s as very nice hotel at a good price with amazing breakfast and comfortable room. Definitely recommend!
My boyfriend and I stayed here last week as we were attending a local concert. Most places were booked so I had called front desk to make an appointment. Every staff member we spoke to, front desk, manager, all the way to the shuttle driver, were all extremely nice, friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was superb and the rooms were very clean. The decor is slightly dated compared to the company’s other hotels but this is a top notch hotel. Would most definitely stay again if we are visiting the area! Thank you!
The staff was nice. The facility was clean. I thought the shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispensers in the shower was a nice touch. And it smelled good and my hair felt great. The breakfast was delicious. I wish we had a microwave in our room. And there was no vending machines. Other than that it was a nice stay.
My reason for staying was the hotel was directly across the street from the VMC (animal emergency and care hospital) My dog was having a risky surgery requiring an overnight stay. Living over an hour away from the hospital, I wanted to be close unless anything happened. The front desk agent (didnt get her name) granted me an early check in around 11am at no charge which was very much appreciated. The room was quiet, comfortable and clean. The breakfast was amazing and though I didnt use the fitness room and pool, they looked very welcoming. I rate my stay a 10/10 and when in the Syracuse area, Holiday Inn Express of East Syracuse will always be at the top of the list! (Side note, our dog did great thru surgery and has had a successful recovery thus far.)
We usually stay at HIE hotels when traveling for business or leisure and this hotel was not the worst or best one we have stayed in. Hotel parking was free and safe, check in was easy and the staff friendly and professional. We were traveling as a family and booked 2 rooms, requesting ahead of time that they be near each other. They werent but the man at the desk agreed to move us within a few doors of each other after we asked. Upon going to our rooms, we found that the outside door to one of them, was broken and could not be locked (originally assigned room). We returned to the front desk to explain and request another room with a locking door and were given another room at the end of the hall (far away from the other room) with an apology. The rooms were a bit tired, but clean. The beds a bit hard but not horrible and the rooms were quiet. AC worked well. Breakfast offered no bread for toast but had enough other items that you could make do just fine. The hotel was located convenient to the highway and within short distance to many restaurants. We would stay there again for a short stay but probably not for a longer one.
Friendly staff, clean room, comfortable bed, always someone at deskBiggest bonus was finding the running path just down the road - miles of dedicated pathway!Breakfast was the usual, although the water in the drink dispenser was horrible - assuming city water, but I wouldnt give it to my dog to drink - tasted like it was vacuumed up off the carpet. And why do hotels insist on Styrofoam plates still??! Easy on/off the highway, plenty of amenities within a mile
I enjoyed my stay at this Holiday Inn. It was very clean and the rooms were spacious. The hotel staff was kind and the building seemed newly renovated. Breakfast could be better and masks could be enforced more, but overall a great stay considering it was the middle of nowhere in CNY.
I stay here occasionally for business and given how much I like the hotel I now stay here exclusively when Im in town on leisure trips or travelling through with my family. We love the friendly nature of the staff but appreciate that its always very clean and comfortable. The proximity of the hotel to major highways makes it very convenient. The location feels very safe so I am not worried about the safety of my family or parking my car over night.
Recently stayed for a wedding we were attending in the area. Hotel staff were great and accommodating. Helped us check in early so that we could arrive on time to the rehearsal. Hotel was clean and staff were taking precautions to minimize Covid risk. Overall a nice stay.
We booked this hotel through a 3rd party for such an affordable price for 3 days 2 nights. When we arrived we were greeted and attentively showed our rooms. Lobby was clean. Our room wasnt very big but we had 2. Queen size beds, TV and bathroom. Every thing looked clean. The only issue I had was the air quality the A/C wasnt blowing very cold. It got a bit warmer in the night. I just thought with hot days trying to cool so many rooms maybe that just how it performed. Overall we enjoyed our stay, the pool was open to public only 10 or less people at a time. We looked forward to the breakfast included in our package. They had different menu each day. They also had a fitness room we could use.
In this time of a pandemic, I felt safe to be somewhere other than home. The environment was clean and relaxing. Our room was clean and comfortable (we stayed in a suite). The front desk staff were very friendly. They spoke to you like you were relevant. It was again a relaxing atmosphere. My husband and I experience was great. We needed time away from home in a safe environment.
There was a funny smell in the area, like dirty water. Other than that the staff was super nice and the room didn’t have the smell at least. We had two queen size beds, the a/c was good, they had the black out curtains and they offered breakfast. The breakfast consisted from sausage, turkey sausage, egg whites, vegetable omelette, toast, pancakes, bagels, 3 types of cereals and a variety of 3 juices.
It was an okay stay. We booked the king suite with sofa bed and it was a bit overpriced for me. The room is very outdated. The have a old Phillips tv. I couldn’t even use my Xbox one on the tv smh. It was a decent size room and comfortable but just very old looking. The breakfast was nice. Not a lot of hotels are doing breakfast so it was a plus. Overall it was a good stay but I wouldn’t stay here again.
I travel frequently and have stayed in many different States and motels, chain and locals but I can honestly say that I have never been as HAPPY as I am with my stay at this particular facility . I am quite handicapped with bilateral below the knee amputations which makes bathing very difficult. I called and requested a bath chair and was assured that one would be there! Yes, it was, hooray! The room was very comfortable with all expected amenities. Extra comfortable bed and pillows. I was so impressed that I came back again. The complementary breakfast was outstanding and monitored by the people responsible at all times to clean and restock. The management and staff deserve he highest possible performance rating you can lavish on them!!
When we travel we often stay at Holiday Inn Express. They are consistently clean, with great staff and amenities that we appreciate. We stay at this hotel in Dewitt, NY while visiting our sons family who live in Fayetteville. The first time we stayed here, I asked the staff if my two young granddaughters could come over for a swim in the pool and offered to pay something for them to be able to do that. We were so pleasantly surprised at how accommodating the hotel management were. They said absolutely they can come for a swim as long as we supervised them. It was such a treat for them to go for a swim in the middle of winter.
We were confused with the duvet!! Otherwise the room was comfortable. We did expect a microwave, when asked about this we were told not all rooms have microwaves...you shouldsay that on line. Everything else was mor than satisfactory. I would stay there or at another Holiday Inn. The breakfast was wonderful...lots of good choices.
Family of 4 stayed for one night. The front desk service was excellent . The room is in need of new carpets and a good cleaning . Several large stains on the carpet. I always wear slides but I def would not be barefoot. I took my kids to the pool which they enjoyed. Aside from two gentlemen having drinks and minding their own business it was just our kids in the water which was nice and Covid friendly. I do wish breakfast was served past 9 am but all in all not a bad stay.
The room was quiet and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was ample parking as I stayed during the Covid pandemic and there werent many guests. The breakfast was lacking, though. In the past, theres been a full buffet of hot, freshly cooked food and this time, it was Jimmy Dean Sausage Egg Muffins, which were terrible, some fruit and yogurt. There was no waffles, pancakes eggs or bacon. One of the main reasons I stay at Holiday Inn Expresses is for the convenience of a breakfast before hitting the road. This did not meet my expectations.
This is the second time we stayed here, and Ive waited to make this review because I hate saying bad things about places, and I needed to cool off. We rented two rooms for a family reunion, and my four grandchildren were in one of the rooms. I had asked for two rooms together and we were hoping for a cot, but the room was too small for a cot, so we made due. However, after we got back from the reunion, we received a call that the kids were making too much noise. The odd thing was that they were at the pool at the time. My son took a video of three rooms on our floor that were so noisy you could hear them through the doors, and showed it to the attendant at the front desk, who apologized.. When we met the kids at the pool and brought them back, we made sure to keep them quiet. However, the people next to them had a party that lasted all night long, and my son and daughter-in-law had little sleep. In fact, someone banged on our door at 4 am looking for the party! We slept until about 7 and got up, then met in the hall about 8 and one of the party people opened the door and was seriously rude to us for making noise. I say -- too bad!! I might never stay there again. I stopped using IHG for a few years because of a bad stay, and I might simply cancel my membership. Its not worth the points that you get to put up with nonsense like this.
Mattress in Room 307 was very uncomfortable! Both my wife and I tossed and turned all night long. Terrible night sleep!!!! Room was clean and staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent. I always stay at Holiday inn hotels so this was a very unexpected. Very Tired!!!!
We had a very good experience at this hotel. We used it twice as we were traveling around CNY. It was a good location and Holiday Inn does a nice job. We were not disappointed. The staff is very professional, helpful, friendly and wiling to help. We thank all those willing to work during the pandemic.
With the pandemic still going strong we were a bit nervous to book a hotel room. Especially in an area we aren’t familiar with. The moment we walked in we felt more relaxed. The staff were welcoming and the whole place including the pool and common areas were very clean. A good variety of restaurants just down the road and minutes to the mall. We definitely picked the right hotel.
Overall the Hotel was great. The service was amazing. The room was clean. Pool area was clean and water was heated. If If I could change anything would be maybe some upgrade in the rooms. there were wall paper peeling in bathroom and a molding was loos on a corner wall. Other than that my stay was amazing.
We stayed here as a last minute decision driving through Syracuse and I ended up pretty disappointed for what I paid. It was not a $200-$250 room. It was more like $100. The room was plain and dated. Not a great shower. No whirlpool or hot tub. No patio or outdoor common area to sit and relax by for fresh air. I do regret stopping here.
This location was pleasant and very clean. The staff greeted us promptly and took care of us without delay. The rooms were nicely appointed. I do wish the beds were a little softer as a personal preference, but they were clean and the linens were nice. I also wish the body lotion was fragrance free or a milder scent, the Bath and Body Works one was too strong for my sensitive skin. The breakfast buffet was good and had a good range of choices plus To Go bags in case we had to take breakfast with us.
This fairly new hotel, is 5 miles from the university, with friendly staff and a lovely breakfast buffet with a lot of hot and cold choices. There is a pool, fitness room and guest laundromat. It is close to stores and food options. It was convenient to get to, as well. Glad I discovered it, and will definitely stay here again.
The room it’s self was pretty cool. The bed is very comfortable and the AC works very well. The reason why I’m giving this a three star rating is for two reasons. The first reason is I specifically asked for a one king bed with standup shower only. I paid a little extra for that room and they did not give that to me. I got a room with a tub and shower combo. The second reason is that it did not come with a microwave. Now some people might not care but I do so that’s the other reason why I’m knocked off a star. Other than that they have an amazing breakfast selection and a nice pool.
When we arrived in our room was dirty and needed updates. Carpet had a huge blue stain, the couch in out room was stained. The bathroom floor was filthy and there was hair in the shower that was not mine!!! We have stayed at other Holiday Inn Express in the past and have not experienced the uncleanliness. Very disappointed!
We went on a family road trip, we made hotel reservations in advance. When we arrived in Syracuse, N.Y. we drove through the hotel parking lot (where we had made previous reservations) and continued driving because we did not feel safe. We made a reservation with Holiday Inn Express, we arrived, felt safe, got directions to local shopping. The staff was marvelous, we made the right decision.
Just an average hotel. Nothing special about this place. Pool was warm but the air temp was cold. Breakfast was very limited even for covid restrictions. Queen beds are more like a double than an actual queen. First room the fridge wasnt working, then the second room didnt even have a microwave.
Great hotel. Convenient location near highway. We stayed here during a snowstorm. We felt warm and safe here. When I woke up the next morning I was pleased to find the parking lot was cleared already.I overslept and missed breakfast, but the wonderful staff prepared me a grab and go bag. When I asked to borrow a shovel to clear my car, someone offered to do it for me. Way above and beyond here!!
We stayed for the weekend in a 2 queen bed suite with a very comfortable beds . Room was spotless and spacious. It had mini fridge and coffee maker . The breakfast included in the stay exceeded our expectations with hot options during Covid times - it offered pancakes , hot breakfast sandwiches , cinnamon buns on top of many cold choices . Dining room was cozy and very clean . We used the pool , it was heated and very clean . Despite Covid times we felt very safe staying there .
There is a seating area with tables off the lobby for dining if you want to order delivery or do curbside pick up due to COVID. It is a nice alternative to eating in your room on your bed or at your desk and it is big enough for social distancing. There is a large TV in the common dining area as well. It was especially nice to have laundry facilities since I had to extend my stay two days longer than I expected. The staff was very accommodating and made sure all needs were immediately met. The hotel is a short distance to everything you could possibly want.
Overall we had a good experience at this hotel. Its an older hotel but well-maintained. We were impressed by the comfort of our room and bed. The breakfast buffet was awesome! The hotel was very busy and full of families with young children. Unfortunately many of the kids were running around in the hallways making a lot of noise and took over the small pool. This may have been unusual and I dont blame the hotel for the unsupervised children.
Employees were pleasant and always wearing masks. Hot coffee available all day. Would have liked to have clean towels delivered daily and restock bathroom supplies even if we did Not want the sheets to be changed daily. Ran out of TP, tissues and clean towels during our stay. Got new towels from housekeeping cart. Breakfast was fine. Nice variety for continental breakfast. Musty smell in hallway and room. Overall an ok stay. Quiet area and comfortable bed/pillows.
We were very happy with our five day stay at this hotel. The Suite/room was immaculately clean, well appointed, and comfortable. One of the best features of the room was the large double windows which open on either (or both) ends. This brought fresh air circulating throughout the room. The staff was professional, attentive, and efficient. The Breakfast hostess and housekeeping staff were especially impressive. The swimming pool and exercise room were very clean and inviting. The car park is ample, convenient and well lit at night. It was a wonderful stay, truly.
Slept very well in the comfortable king bed. Breakfast is changed due to COVID but still offered other good choices. Staff at front desk are very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The room was clean and quiet. Good amenities offered. Great place to stay with easy access to highway and the city of Syracuse is a quick drive.
I wanted a relaxing few days, and that is exactly what I had. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. I would actually like to buy one of the pillows for personal use. I enjoyed the view and accommodations as well. The service was pretty great, besides having to wait a little bit. Which wasnt terrible, very friendly front deskman. I would gladly love to stay another time at this hotel in any state. I just wish there was a few more options for breakfast, but the food was great.
We had a group of 8 for a 3 day scrapbook retreat and everyone had a great time. The conference room, wifi, complimentary breakfast and rooms were all great. It is a clean, well-run hotel and the staff were pleasant and helpful. Both the manager and sales manager introduced themselves and asked how everything was going. We will definitely go back for our next scrapbook event.
Stayed here for a couple days for a concert. Absolutely loved the lady working the breakfast bar 11/11-11/13, we didn’t catch her name. She was very cheerful and kept the breakfast bar fully stocked. Conversed with guests and kept on a smile. Alex was super friendly as well at the desk, making sure our stay was great. The room was very clean. Definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here again next time I’m in the area.
We stayed at this hotel after two previous stays at other hotels in the area and this was by far the best experience we have had. The value for the price was exceptional. The breakfast was freshly made and all the staff we encountered greeted us with a smile. We have found the hotel we will be staying at for future trips.
I got in late, and was greeted with a friendly smile and wonderful service. My room was nice and clean, no complaints. Breakfast is an added bonus. They had a good variety of foods from cold to hot, as well as different selections of coffee/tea/juices/hot chocolate/. I would definitely recommend.
We frequent this location on a monthly basis due to our hockey schedule. Staff are ALWAYS friendly and willing to help in any way. Hotel is clean, quiet and breakfast area is large enough to not feel like you are sitting on top of other guests. Rooms are large and have fridge, which is helpful, wish there was a microwave, but we manage.
We had a nice stay at this location. The employee at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful. Greatly appreciated the free bottles of waters. The vending machine was nice as well, found some cheap snack to hit our late night craving. The room was very nice and comfy. Bed was clean and comfortable. There was nothing that happened that disappointed us during our stay. While in Syracuse, we went to the Dennys nearby, just wanted to pass along to others that stay, DONT EAT THERE!!! Worse experience ever!!
The room itself was clean with clean sheets and a vacuumed carpet but the room specifically was out of date unfortunately. They need an updating, which happens over time and many stays the rooms breakdown and a classic example here. The ceiling had a hole in it with cracked tile in the bathroom to the wall paper starting to peel off in the room. As a holiday inn frequent user would stay away from the dewitt units until remodeling.
We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone in need of a place to stay in or around the Syracuse area! The staff was all amazing from the time we walked in to the time we left! Everyone from the front desk to the ladys that cleaned and everyone in-between! A special shout out to Alex and the lady that fixed breakfast for making our son feel so welcomed that he wanted to go back the day after to let them know how his surgery went! Thank you for making our stay so special! We will be returning sometime in the spring!
Holiday Inn Syracuse, NY has amazing friendly staff. Rooms are well kept and clean. Beds are comfortable and plenty pillows. Continental breakfast was good and well stocked with items that are prepackaged with the exception of the self-serving pancakes. The hotel is a fine establishment. I highly recommend you stay here.
The bed was very comfortable. Even though the hotel is located near a busy highway, the traffic noise was minimal. Breakfast was not bad. Instead of the usual waffle machine that you have to add batter to, and remember to turn, there is a pancake machine - place your plate underneath, push the button, and two minutes later you have two pancakes! Staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
I can not praise the hotel and the staff enough. My family and I booked 5 rooms for a family reunion getaway weekend. Kathy, the manager, who I was sorry not to have met, was wonderful and friendly when helping us book the rooms and ensuring all our needs and logistical issues were met. The front desk staff was amazing as well. Kristen by day and Brick in the evening were both so accommodating and friendly. They were both ready to help with anything we needed and were gracious and pleasant even with the kids running through the lobby at times. The hotel itself was great. The rooms were clean and very spacious. The breakfast room was clean and plentiful and the use of the conference room for our use was just great. The kids really enjoyed the pool as well (although it might be a little too heated). If we ever do a family weekend again like this again, we will be sure to come back. Thank you!!!
From the moment we checked in checked out the staff were always friendly. The cleaning staff all said good morning. We felt very welcomed. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast area had a variety of food. We were extremely pleased with our stay. If I was in the area I would stay again.
The HIE in DeWitt is a decent option if you are in the area for a short stay or overnighting as part of a larger trip. The front desk and dining area staff were very pleasant and hospitable. The beds were soft and gave me a good nights sleep every night. Some things that could use improvement is the decor of the hotel. The dark colors are reminiscent of an older era that could use some brightening to be more inviting. The internet was a bit slower than anticipated, even for hotel access. Lastly the hotel is a bit wonky. The speed coming down from the higher flows is a bit slow, and the door closing took a while even after pressing the door close button. In all despite the minor criticisms I would recommend staying here for a short stay.
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I was only there for one night. My experience was still a joy. I was happy with check in and my room was very clean and up to part. I wish I could’ve stayed a little longer. The bed was so comfortable I over slept and didn’t get a chance to eat the complimentary breakfast. Hopefully my next stay I will get to experience the food. I did eat one oatmeal cookie that was great. I wish I could’ve eaten more lol. Gym area and pool was great. Looking forward to staying at the holiday inn express at any given opportunity. Thanks for the hospitality.!
We stayed here four nights in late July. The room was quiet, comfortable. We have stayed here in the past, the difference this time is that all the staff we encountered, from the front desk, breakfast servers, maintenance staff and housekeeping were uniformly friendly and efficient. I asked Lauren (front desk) if there had been staff changes, and she confirmed that they were new personnel. There was always a carafe of cold water, and cookies in the afternoon (peanut butter, yummy!). The location is great, central to everything in Syracuse. We asked for directions to a retain store, and the front desk quickly handed us printed instructions for two such stores. Extremely helpful!
We had a great stay during our nephews wedding. The rooms were clean and updated along with the bathroom. Alex was a great front desk person who was very accommodating who was willing to make sure we had a room ready for us (10 of us exactly) to use to get ready for the wedding after driving for 4 long hours.
Stayed here in order to finally get a good nights sleep. The staff was friendly and attentive, the room was clean, and the breakfast was great. I would have liked a bar, but thats just me. They do have some other nice amenities for the traveler. Also, there is a huge parking lot out back, not just the small one in the front. The door brings you right to the elevator area, which is convenient.
Our stay was enjoyable. The hotel was clean, staff were very friendly and always willing to help make our stay that much better. The pool was a great addition to our work out in the fitness room with basic equipment. Breakfast was served in an open area, easy to access and with great variety. We were close enough to Syracuse, NY to do our shopping and delight in retail therapy. I would recommend this hotel.
When we first walked into the hotel the hotel lady was pretty pleasant. More towards the evening as the lady at the front desk was very rude. She acted like she did not want to be there, her attitude was very unprofessional. We had reported a problem to her and she rolled her eyes and acted very frustrated, instead of more willing to look into the issue. The night time front desk pretty much ruined the whole stay after that.
This facility met my expectation in regard to the Holiday Inn Express experiences I have had in the past. The Hotel and my room was very clean. The Staff was courteous, friendly and eager to assist me during check in and during my stay. The quality and selection for a Free Breakfast was excellent and there was a very at tentative employee at that remained on hand and was constantly cleaning and replenishing the breakfast supplies the entire time I was in the Great room.Great overall service at a Clean and comfortable facility located in a convenient, central location to surrounding highways and access ways.I recommend this facility to all.
Great hotel with friendly staff. Able to use the clean washer and dryer after a pool mishap. Yummy breakfast after a great night’s sleep! Only complaint is inconsistent pricing with our team block- we had a higher rate even though plenty of rooms still available in the block and we booked early. Everything else was great!
This hotel is well located. The front desk is very friendly and polite and always willing to give a helping hand. The food at the buffet was very good and they had a variety selection for breakfast and everything was delicious. Location is good, 10 minute drive to Destiny USA. There a lot of fast food shops up the road no less thr 5 minutes away even though they cannot be seen from the hotel. We have previously stated at this hotel in the past and we will always be a returning customer.
We travelled as a family of 5, with 3 teenagers for a shopping trip. The room had 2 queen beds and a pullout couch. The room did not feel cramped at all, very spacious with a large bathroom. It was very quiet at night and the blackout curtains worked very well. The breakfast was hot and fresh, with lots of options. There was not much fresh fruit, but thats the only negative I could add. The woman attending the dining area was very pleasant and kept things perfectly cleaned and well stocked, and even removed our plates for us when we were finished. We would definitely come again.
We stayed one night here. Our room was clean and quiet. It had a microwave and refrigerator with a freezer unit in it. This was very much appreciated as this let us freeze our cooler ice packs without going through the hassle of buying ice or using hotel ice.The breakfast buffet was the usual HIE food with a nice assortment of items both hot and cold. Nothing out of the ordinary. The attendant was friendly and greeted us with a smile and asked if we needed anything. She kept the food well stocked. The hot foods remained hot.The desk staff when we checked in was especially friendly and organized. She greeted us each time we entered or left that evening. There was a nice bowl of fresh fruit and cookies in the lobby. This was a pleasant stay. It is a nice area and we would stay here again.
We stayed for 3 nights during graduation weekend and were pleased with our stay. The hotel was conveniently located, quiet and the staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Our room was clean and well kept. We ate breakfast there one morning and it was good.I would recommend Holiday Inn Express & Suites Dewitt.
From the moment we walked in the lobby our service by the front desk person was top-notch! He was friendly, knew how to get everywhere we needed to go in our car, and was completely professional. The same was true of the gentleman at the desk as we checked out--very friendly and good-natured, as well as efficient. The lady in the breakfast room was also very helpful and friendly. Every staff person we met was a credit to your hotel! Our room (including bath) was spotless and comfortable, except for the extra-large pillows, which I did not care for. The breakfast room and all hallways, and the elevators, were likewise very, very clean. All of that must reflect good management!
We were taking a leisurely trip to central NY to visit family. We choose this hotel because it offered everything we need. But we got everything and more. The handicapped accessible room is nice and the breakfast has variety. Service staff, including housekeeping does a great job.The only thing I would have enjoyed more was a warm greeting at check-in and less hassle over my registered service dog who works for my handicapped husband.
My sons and I stayed for a little family time. We rendezvoused from SUNY Oswego and SUNY Binghamton University and met in the middle. We had a suite room and could not have been happier with the stay. The Breakfast was great and Free.... bonus. Location was great the entire staff could not have been better. A stay at this location reaffirms why I am a IHG hotel member... great job everyone.
Our stay was very quiet and relaxing. We very much enjoyed our stay. The breakfast selections were many, but there wasnt much of a selection for people with GF or other diets. Not sure this is possible, so It is understood. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.
I arrived at around 9pm. The hotel was very nice and cozy. Front desk staff George I believe his name was, was very friendly. Checking in was very simple. However, a bit of a gripe was that I was not offered a welcome amenity of either a gift bag or bonus points for my stay. I just recently became a platinum member and I am trying to rack up more points for reward night stays. Not a big deal but I feel I should bring this to your attention. The room was great and the location of my room was even better. After a 6 hour drive I am happy to say I got much needed sleep. I will be stopping by a few more times in that area so this Holiday Inn will be added to one of my favorites as well. Great job all around.
I loved the location, staff is accommodating, room is mediocre, we stayed 2 nights , after the first night our room was not cleaned we had to ask for clean towels and washcloths at the desk , the breakfast is not the best the fruit was not good , not a lot of choices
We stayed a weekend here. This was our 2nd year staying in this same facility. Everyone is super friendly and accommodating. The breakfast is excellent compared to other places I’ve stayed in the past. The pool was very clean and warm. The kids loved it! We will be staying again when we come back next year.
We frequently stay here due to a relative living in a near by nursing facility. The desk staff are always very welcoming and pleasant. This past stay we were upgraded and the room was so nice!Very clean, and the beds are extremely comfortable!!!!!The complimentary breakfast is always good, refilled frequently and fresh! The woman who we usually see working is very diligent in keeping everything filled and running smoothly! KUDOS!!Dont hesitate!!PS, LOVE the cookies and coffee in the lobby in the evening!
From great check in to great check out and in between, the staff of this hotel made our experience delightful. Clean and well managed. Breakfast room was spotless, well laid out, and managed by a wonderful breakfast attendant! Wow, after 50 years of staying in Holiday Inn and IHG properties for business and pleasure, I have to rate this experience in the top 5 ever!
This seems to be a newer hotel and I was very impressed. I stay at HIEs all of the time for work but this one was by far the most modern, clean, quiet, and comfortable. Wonderful, quick check-in with Bryck, one of the staff. Room included a small refrigerator but no microwave in the room. But, I only had to go down to the breakfast area to use the hotel microwave. Without a doubt, I will be staying her again when I return to the university. While about 5 miles from the campus, the short drive on the highway was well worth the price difference of hotels near the campus, especially when hotel demand is high at certain times of the year. About 1 mile south of the hotel is an area with gas and a variety of restaurants.
Overall it was a good stay. Front desk staff as well as breakfast staff were all extremely pleasant and kind. The breakfast selection was one of the best I have ever encountered at a hotel. The fitness center and pool were both great, clean pool and the fitness center had free weights. The only few cons that 2/3 couldnt have been helped were:A candy wrapper under my bed skirt. This hotel is 100% non smoking.I woke up 3-5x per night and was having nightmares, mind you, this is far from normal for me. Not sure what it means, but its never happened 4 nights in a row, let alone happening at all. Im always a solid sleeper.
The breakfast choices were great and food was fantastic. Always plenty to choose from Great breakfast hours. The room was great but I thought the pillows were horrible. Old and lumpy. Also no matter what I did to the curtains the light was shining in and kept me awake. We had 4 people to our room and the first night there we had 5 towels which was great but every day after that the maid service only provided us with 3 towels so I had to ask for extra towels every day which was inconvenient.I have stayed many times, but never had these issues. Always had a great experience before. I will continue to stay there.
If you check into this hotel in the afternoon / evening hours, you will be greated by Bryck; one of the industrys best!!!! He is so friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and knows just how to start your stay off right. Once in your room, youll discover the consistent cleanliness and comfort this place provides for the value. As well, its very easy to relax in these rooms and enjoy a kcup of coffee and chill your beverages in the fridge for later or the next days travel. The beds are comfortable and the showers are refreshing. If thats not enough, theres a free bfast in the am with something for everyone. If you request it, they will also deliver it to your room. The wifi is fast and consistent once you log in. Ive stayed at a lot of hotels in syracuse and this is by far my most favorite and the one i choose every time now. Its nice to have a staff of people work so hard at creating a home for you when youre away from home. Thanks everyone and thank you Bryck for going the extra mile for your guests.
Traveling by Interstate; needed place for 1 night. Conveniently located. Good places for takeout nearby. (Recommend Pavones pizza). Room was typical and clean. A/C compressor was not working except fan function. Wouldnt cool room from 75 to desired 68 for sleep. Pack and go breakfast offerings were meager... Prior night had stayed at HIE in Columbus OH, they had delicious breakfast sandwiches one could hear in microwave. Here one could only get cold offerings or oatmeal cups/add hot water.
We had a great stay here for our impromptu trip to Syracuse for NYS Fair. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Upon calling late at night to inform we will arrive at 2:30a to holding our luggage to get more fair time on our departure date.Had great breakfast choices. Automatic pancake machine & signature coffee rolls were great. Only negative was more seating was needed for breakfast.
Ive stayed here twice - September 2016 and November 2016 - and both times were excellent stays. I work while traveling and the wifi is excellent for general Web usage. Ac/Heat is adjustable and works well. Clean rooms and facilities. And the free breakfast is pretty good, and the woman who runs it is friendly and awesome. The best part is the staff. Very helpful, friendly and swift service. They went above and beyond to assist me when I had to pass time in the lobby after checking out. Props to the day time desk staff! Will definitely return.
Very clean hotel and friendly staff. Staying as often as I do, the front desk staff knows my name and had check in info ready when I approached the desk. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is good but needs more variety (stayed 3 days and the food options started to repeat).
We wanted to just have an overnight, mini vacation in our own city. We chose this hotel and were not disappointed. The cleanliness as well as the friendly, helpful staff helped to set the stage. Our room was great, the beds comfortable and the pool relaxing. We went away feeling refreshed and happy we decided to go on this adventure with the children.
Staff was excellent. I needed a slightly early check in and was accommodated with that so we could be on time to our event. Received a snack and drink package upon arrival for being rewards members- nice touch. Was extremely happy with the cleanliness of our room and extremely comfortable beds. The staff at breakfast was very attentive. Breakfast was good , but I would have appreciated some extra fruit choices. I would stay here again- it was a quiet location but close to everything.
Please do not stay at this hotel until they take the right measures to make you feel safe. The pool was open and had people swimming in it. No staff had on face masks during my time of check in and out. The maids were in a room with no gloves or masks while cleaning the room. No extra measusres of cleaning supplies were seen duirng my check out.
Clean and friendly staff. Ive stayed there dozens of times, usually my stays are great. My only complaint this stay was how loud other guests were. Someone next to me was snoring so loud, it was as if they were in the room with me. The guests above me must have been a pack of elephants because every move was a loud thud or bang. In the hallway children were loud as they moved to and from the pool (its spring break).
I stayed here overnight for a business meeting. The hotel was clean and check-in and check-out were very straightforward. Breakfast options were what you expect from a hotel. My only complaint is that the curtains in the room didnt 100% block out the lights from Syracuse. I would still stay here again.
My room at check in was in disrepair and unacceptable. I complained at front desk and the situation was corrected (new room). I am not used to a situation like this from IHG in general or this hotel in particular. I realize that these are difficult times financially for most businesses and personally will be willing to give this hotel another chance (I stay here every year at least once), but base on the above I cannot recommend this hotel to someone else.
I was exhausted after staying the previous night at a hotel where I could not breathe. I quickly booked the Holiday Inn Express Dewitt for the next night and arrived the next morning, hoping I could get in early and get some rest. The man at the front desk was friendly and accommodating. I finally got some rest! Also, the internet service was easy to access, fast, and reliable. Breakfast was very nice, too. Everyone was very helpful and courteous. Will definitely stay here on future trips to Syracuse.
I have to say, that in general, this was one of the best stays Ive ever had in a hotel. Not only did we find much-needed reprieve from the unbearable heat, but we found ourselves in the midst of some of the most caring, attentive, personable and professional people Ive ever had the pleasure of being served by.As a Professional Leadership Development Consultant, and Business Coach, I always pay attention to the level of care I receive(or lack thereof) and I can honestly say that the staff here exemplify what Customer Service is all about!Do yourself a favor the next time you are in this area, and book a room for the night, or as long as you need, because they will make you wish you were staying so much longer!
I am a frequent visitor to this holiday inn Express due to family in the area.As always, it is very clean, and comfortable. The breakfast is great, fresh, and appetizing. The woman who works in the breakfast area is the BEST! So welcoming, and pleasant and constantly refilling buffet items.Greg at the front desk is wonderful! Very welcoming and helpful.I especially appreciate the warm cookies, coffee, fruit and water available in the lobby in the evening!I would not consider staying anywhere else!
We (2 adults, 8 yr old daughter and 5 yr old son) were visiting from Ottawa for a quick get a way and shopping trip. The Hotel staff was very friendly and rooms very clean. The person at in the breakfast room was exceptional! She made sure everything was fresh and filled, really the best breakfast personnel we have ever had the pleasure of having. There was a variety of items to choose from.
Staff was rude, snobby. Made me and my family feel very uncomfortable throughout the course of our stay. He was rude from the time we started the check in process up until the end of his shift. Hotel is beautiful...but I do not feel that it was kid friendly. Told me my three toddlers were being too loud. That was not the case at all. I would not say they are kid friendly at all. I would not recommend to families with small children. AT ALL! Hire BETTER STAFF!
The hotel is very clean, modern, and up to date. The pool, and fitness room where an added bonus. The food is touch notch, and plentiful. The coffee was always hot 24 hours a day. Excellent front staff, and kitchen service. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
This is one of the best experiences we have had and we stay regularly in hotels as my husband plays on a travel softball league. The breakfast had great variety (& fascinated with the auto pancake maker).Staff was super friendly and helpful. Rooms were large and comfortable and very clean. Overall a 5 star experience at a 3 star price! Great value and great experience! And we never even made it to the pool!Close to beautiful Green Lake State Park (awesome view and food!) And close to downtown Syracuse as well.
Housekeeping lacking. Coffee pods not replaced once, old pod left in, garbage left on bathroom floor, tub not cleaned, garbage bags not replaced correctly (lazy), and obvious problems not reported when they cleaned the room. If I didnt report them , the problems would go on for days. Two days in a row my bathtub drain was almost completely plugged. By the end of a short shower I was standing in ankle deep dirty water. Toilet made a loud shrill whistling noise every time it was flushed. Surprised nobody complained in adjoining rooms. If they were cleaning the toilet and bathtub they had to know about both.
It was a nice. Reasonably priced hotel the room was clean, breakfast bar area was good a bit smaller than some places Ive stayed, the pool area was nice we had to go to lobby soaking wet to ask for towels as there were no poolside towels, otherwise a nice stay and decent hotel.
I was recently on a business trip and stayed at this hotel for 10 days. I was very surprised to find the room nicely appointed. Not only was the bed comfortable but so was the lounge chair. I really appreciated the lighting in the bathroom. Even at a nicer property I find the lighting lacking. Not fun putting makeup on w/low light. I really appreciated the attentiveness of the staff. I had one issue I reported that became a nonissue very quickly. Im not a fan of Holiday Inns and was very leery about staying here. I had such a good experience that when given the opportunity I would stay at another Holiday Inn Express. BTW be sure to ask about the Golds Gym. My only complaint is that no one mentioned to me that the hotel has a relationship with the gym. Considering how teeny tiny the hotel gym is youd think theyd remember to say something. Be sure to ask. I heard from a member that its really nice.
The staff were accommodating and attentive. The room was clean, the mattress was comfortable. The breakfast included was a nice feature, but the pancakes from the machine were only of fair quality, but they had fresh fruit and juices; cereals etc.Overall, we were quite satisfied with our stay at this hotel.
I stay at in Victor and now starting this month in Dewitt every other week for a week at a time. Customer service, cleanliness, quality of food is all very important to me. Sometimes I need to break away and have breakfast some place else because the menu never changes. Overall it truly is my home away from home and I enjoy my stays.
Clean room, has the basics though no refrigerator. A little pricey for an Express hotel, but I had a wedding to be at so I had to take it. Secure and comfortable overall.. but... The pillows were horrible for my sleeping. Its been 4 days and my neck is still killing me, so bring your own. The free Wi-Fi was nice, but very hard to stay connected to. Did not check out the morning breakfast, but did not seem like anything I was very excited for. Overall, 2.5/5. Not very full despite the holiday weekend, so pretty quit, though so that was a plus.
As I entered the Hotel, I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it smelled as soon as I went through the door. The same could be said of our rooms, which we enjoyed both to and from our destinations. This is a very clean establishment, and the staff is wonderful, as well as knowledgeable about the surrounding restaurants in the area.
We stayed at Holiday Inn Express to get our son off to college. We had to stay in our hotel room for quarantine. The hotel was very good to us during our stay. We were able to have breakfast at the hotel and we ordered food delivered to the hotel for our other meals,
Stayed just one night for a college visit. Room was clean and comfortable and warm after arriving in sub zero temps that was much appreciated. Breakfast was the typical continental fare, variety of choice. Woman working in the morning there was friendly and welcoming. Nice to have a conversation with staff who work hard and set up the breakfast and clean up after everyone has been through. Desk staff was also helpful in giving directions. Would stay there again if it ends up being the college of choice for my daughter.
Staff is very friendly and extremely accommodating. Great breakfast as well. Unfortunately, the next morning he Hotel had no water service due to a broken pipe in he street. I was somewhat disappointed by only being allowed to receive one complimentary bottled water. Considering the event, someone should have been dispersed to bring in cases for the guests.
This hotel is everything you can ask room respectful guest , management, clean , comfortable, free hot breakfast, variety of options for breakfast, indoor pool open until 10pm ,free WiFi, lots of rooms space , coffee maker in room , microwave in room and refrigerator in room , smart tv in every room
Wonderful water pressure in the shower and nice adjustable shower head. nice firm pillows, breakfast was good with adequate choices. I would have liked some cottage cheese and ready cut fresh fruit available but it wasnt a deal breaker. satisfied with the value overall. no complaints.
The location does limit your choices for dining. But overall they met my expectations. They were very helpful with my questions and they had the room ready for me. Hotel was clean and bed and pillows were comfortable. This hotel met the level of expectation that I have come to Expect from the IHG properties
The young lady at the desk was there every time we went through the lobby throughout the weekend, but she was extremely professional and pleasant. The room was spotless. We were provided with a list with instructions for both grocery stores AND restaurants (upon request).Friendly and comfortable breakfast dining room.Felt as much like home as a hotel possibly could.
First time staying at this property. Clean, relatively easy access off the highway and friendly check in staff. Room was good but some of the lightbulbs were burned out which made the room very dark later on in the evening. Next morning, my bill was not under the door, so I had to obtain one from the front desk (explanation was that their system went down overnight which I guess happens). When leaving, coffee urn was empty and had to wait for someone to replace it. Overall experience was 8 out 10.
From the time I checked in to the time I checked out, the staff went out of their way to thank me for staying with them and asking if there was anything they could do to make my stay more pleasant. The customer service is some of the best I have experienced. The hotel was inviting and clean and Continental breakfast provided a nice variety so there was something for everyone.
Ive stayed here on several occasions. Always friendly staff.I love being a Priority Club member and the perks that come with it. That said, I am usually asked, actually I am usually given, a room upgrade. On this stay I was not asked if I wanted to be upgraded or given a room. If there are no rooms to be upgraded to I am usually told that and receive a sorry but there are no upgrades available. The parking lot was hardly near capacity. So thats my only disappointment this time.
The room was clean and comfortable. Front desk and service personnel were very pleasant and helpful, and the light snacks at the desk were a nice touch. Although there was a variety of choices for breakfast, the hot choices were usually not available, and the breakfast staff was not very prompt replenishing them. Decent selection of restaurants nearby.
We always enjoy staying at this hotel. The front desk staff are friendly, accommodating and know us by name. The hotel is clean and we feel it is a great value. We have been staying here for the past 4 years many times a year for our daughters sporting events at Syracuse. We recommend it to our other parents and friends.
One of the best hotels I have stayed in recently. The staff is accommodating and friendly, and gladly supplied me with anything I might need (Including a razor and shaving cream, which I forgot at home. The coffee stand that they put in all the rooms actually had tea as well, which I have found to be a rare but much appreciated commodity. I had to relocate the machine in order to plug it in, but it was worth the extra step for a nice cup of tea. The breakfast the hotel served was relatively average, I have no complaints or commendations (except the cinnabons. Those were great). The beds were comfortable, the rooms smelled nice, good audio quality on the phones, overall a great experience! My only major complaint is that the Food Channel was broken, which put a bit of a damper on my night. I guess you cant win them all.
Overall a comfortable stay with two concerns. The caulking job done on the shower was unbelievably bad and the bottom sheet came undone during the night. I have stayed a number of nights at other Express that had the same issue. Last but not least, the pool was too warm. It was a warm day and we had been outside all day and was looking forward to at least a somewhat cool swim but it was almost hot.On the good side, the folks at the desk were very nice and we felt comfortable to sit in eating area the night we were there and used the room as a place to have cocktails and chat with another couple we were with.
Front desk and breakfast room staff were outstanding throughout our stay of more than a week. We stayed in a handicap-accessible room which met our needs. Please, IHG, provide more of these rooms in your hotels for our aging population. And keep those cinnamon buns—the original buns, not Cinnabon’s—coming!

2022-04-02The staff is 100% great!! The hotel could use an update, eg: room key is a card that has to be inserted, not available to unlock door with an app. The hotel is what I call 80% clean. The upper 10% and the lower 10% could use a good old fashion cleaning. The treadmill in the exercise room has a layer of dust on the bottom part. The carpets could use a shampooing or replacement.I chose this hotel because of the location and the overall price. I would stay again based on price and location. The entire staff was wonderful. The breakfast was exceptional and the pancake machine was a great alternative to the standard waffle maker. Both breakfast attendants (week & weekend) were very attentive.Overall I would give 3.8 out of 5 stars.

2022-03-17Being a first-time traveling nurse, I was nervous about staying at a hotel, but James, the general manager, and the rest of his team have made my first time experience very pleasurable. James and his team always greet me with a smile, are very attentive, professional, timely, and very accommodating to my needs. The rooms are always clean, beds are nice and cozy, and its pretty quiet (which working the overnight shift and sleeping during the day) is very important. I love the continental breakfast. Great selections, and its my favorite part of my stay. Thank you all so much for a pleasurable first-time experience!

2022-06-27I enjoyed my stay here. The staff was nice and very accommodating, the rooms are clean and it’s got a gym, pool and laundry room. It totally fit our needs and I would recommend staying here if you are looking for decent hotel in the Syracuse area.

2022-03-07Staff was friendly, and the hot breakfast was good and refilled several times. Probably in need of some cosmetic attention like the ceiling in the shower was crumbling and a trim piece on a dividing wall was taped in place. Parking was adequate and the room was clean and fresh.

2022-06-24Not sure why its considered a 2star hotel. At least 3!! Best breakfast bar in the country so far from west coast to east considering my extensive travels. Love the pancake machine! Just press OK and the conveyor belt delivers 2 freshly made cakes! The bed seemed brand new!! Sooo comfy. Never slept so good in a hotel!! Pillows were thee best. I absolutely think this hotel sets a standard for the evryday hotel. HOWEVER...someone drew a smile face on batheoom mirror. No telling how lo g its been there in room 425. Makes the cleanliness questionable. The front glass entrance doors were severly grimy. Cleanliness is an issue otherwise grest sleep and very good breakfast. Put a tip jar out for the attendant!!

2022-02-24James was the General Manager. There were maybe 100 people simultaneously at breakfast. It seems that the breakfast person did not come in as James was making sure that all breakfast options were continuously present. I have never seen anyone be some many places at once!! and he kept his cool and served everyone, keeping the area clean as well as supplied. Hes a keeper!!Also, just that you know, we choose Holiday Inn Express primarily because of the breakfast, but the fact that they are kept up is important as well. You have a good buslness model and have a number of good, committed employees. I hope you are around for a while!

2022-04-23Im here now, so far, last night after driving 7hrs, no one at the desk to check me in. I had to use the facilities, no one could tell me WHERE they were,so you know how that went. When he finally appeared, he didnt know how to work the credit card machine, I had to show him😖. Then, this morning, NO BREAKFAST!! Half of the hotel was waiting by the time she showed up!! Then, the portions she put out, was gone in 2.5 seconds, 10 pieces of bacon for 30 people😳My freezer has mold, the tub doesnt drain after bathing...... And the front desk staff are very unpleasant and unapologetic ....... AND I just got here

2021-06-01Enjoyed the best night’s sleep I’ve had in over a year while staying overnight at this hotel. Staff was so welcoming, beds super comfy. Room was extremely clean and air conditioning fantastic. The hotel has a very welcoming atmosphere and they go out of their way to meet your every need. Breakfast buffet was delicious too. I will definitely be staying here again.
