Our experience was excellent from the time we made our reservations until the time we departed. The staff is outstanding, extremely accommodating snd enjoyable to visit with. The rooms were neat and clean, very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was very good and employees kept it neat, clean, sanitized and replenished as needed. It was a great experience and I hope to return soon.
We arrived at the hotel in a driving rainstorm with a very flat tire. Before we even could process what had happened the hotel staff was changing our tire and helping us know what the next day to fix it. There were numerous courtesies extended to us throughout our stay. The room was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Breakfast was well-stocked with excellent precautions for COVID.
The staff including management are not attentive to guest needs. At reception in the morning, staff was wearing a hoodie instead of a uniform and had both his feet up on the counter as he sat leaning back in his chair whilst responding to guest inquiries about their stay. When asked if they had a shower chair to accommodate people with disabilities, he did not know. He asked what we presumed was a manager, and the manager couldn’t be bothered to step out to further explain or at least apologize for the inconvenience and promise to do better for the next guest. Instead the staff member said “Sorry, Man!” Hotel is newly renovated. You’d think IHG would ensure that this note is ADA-compliant.
My daughter and I stayed here while visiting Ithaca College. The woman at the desk was so helpful and kind. The bed was so comfortable that I felt like I was sleeping in a cloud! Tea, coffee, and cookies were available at any time. Thank you so much for a pleasant stay!
I’ll begin with saying that the hotel was very clean and modern. My room was spacious and also clean. My only issue was a slight brown stain on the carpet. Breakfast was good, there were alot of different options to choose from. Before entering the breakfast area you had to sanitize your hands and put on gloves, as well as your mask to handle the food.I requested that my room be away from the elevator as I was traveling with a baby and didn’t want to hear any noise. I was a good distance from the elevator which I appreciated. My only issue was with the front desk woman whose demeanor was a bit off putting. She neither greeted us when we arrived nor said anything when we were checking out. She did ask if it was my first time here which I did confirm that it was. You would’ve thought she asked so that she could tell me where things in the hotel were located but nope not at all. I had to figure out where the elevator was because she couldn’t bother to tell me. If my stay was solely based on customer service I wouldn’t recommend this place. I do recommend it because the location is convenient, the hotel is super clean (thanks to the cleaning staff) and it was quiet.
Our group stayed at this hotel from October 11 - 15, 2021, and at Rooms 207, 208, & 210. What we like is the hot breakfast, especially the coffee, they are solid. Now, the cons. Cleanliness is the main issue. During the entire period, the hotel staff did not clean the lobby restroom. I see the same crushed medicine bottle stuffed in between the urinal pipes in the mens room from the day I checked in, and it was still there when I checked out of the hotel. I also see the same stain inside the elevator cart and the same sunflower seed shell for three days in a row near the elevator door. The carpet in the room is dirty with gums (Room 207), and the fixtures are full of dust. Worst of all, the duvet had bloodstains on it. It was pretty gross.Due to COVID, the hotel is not offering daily cleaning, but COVID should not be the excuse for not cleaning at all. The hallways are dirty. Floors need a serious vacuum and mop.Overall, the property is in good physical condition; it just needs to be cleaned.
Overall it’s a great deal for an overnight stay I did overhear them say they weren’t doing in between cleanings which mine was overnight so it didn’t affect me but if it has been more than one night that would have annoyed me very much but other than that the staff was very nice and sweet . The room was nice and spacious . I liked the bed and that there was ample room of you didn’t want to sit in the bed. Also I loved the shower it was so big and the water pressure and space was excellent
I had a wonderful time at the hotel. The front desk staff and staff overall were amazing but id like to take a moment to show appreciation for Sandie. She made myself and all of my friends that were staying there feel welcome and just like her own family. She is one of a kind. If I ever need another hotel in Ithaca I will be staying at this Holiday Inn because of her.
The bed was quite comfortable though mattress holds some body heat during the night. Still ery good. Sheets nice all cotton percale. Staff provided me with lighter blanket for I find the down like comforters too warm . Soft white color temps for light bulbs in lamps would be preferable to the bluish ones installed.
Had a good two day stay here. Room was very clean. The front desk staff were friendly and tried their best to help. The breakfast had good verities. The lady worked at the breakfast room worked very hard to keep up the food supplies. She did an excellent job on enforcing covid safety protocols: asking everyone to wear mask and gloves at the food station.
While the hotel itself was clean and well kept, front desk service was just ok. We asked for fresh towels to be delivered to our room and for our trash to be taken out and it was never done. By the end of our 2 night stay, garbage cans were overflowing and dirty/wet towels piled up in the bathroom. The pool is warmed to the perfect temperature and its so clean we couldnt see a spec of dust floating. Breakfast was delicious, mini omelettes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links and patties. Home fries were seasoned perfectly. There was an array of pastries and yogurt but options for almond milk ran out quickly. Overall a good stay.
The Holiday inn Express in Ithaca is a place with budget minded prices but upscale feel. The staff, the simple yet important amenities, free parking and complimentary breakfast make for a nice relaxing stay. The property is conveniently located next to Buttermilk Falls, Robert Tremon State Park, Ithaca Brewery, shopping, restaurants and 10 minutes from downtown. Speaking of which, downtown may have a charming vibe, but closer to the hotel are a few hidden gem of restaurants that are sure to please even the pickiest of eaters. Just ask Sandie who works during the mornings. She’s an amazing resource for all things Ithaca.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. I appreciated all the measures the hotel took to keep us safe. There was sanitizer by the elevators and breakfast was served in a non touch manner. They even cleaned the pens between use. The room was decent sized and had many nice features including a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker.
Bright and clean (wiped surfaces and they were well cleaned), with new/modern decor. Full shower with sliding glass door. Well stocked for hot open buffet breakfast. No waffles but plenty of the regular options (western and cheese omelettes, potatoes, sausages, bacon, bread, pastries, cereal, yogurt, breakfast bars, etc).Great location for local trails.
The room was nice for the price, but it obvious that staffing issues are impacting the location. We mooted breakfast and the pool. Our room was ok, but the first impression was the bathroom which wasn’t well cleaned and was lacking in toilet paper and tissues. We had eight pieces of toilet paper led on the roll!
We stayed at Holiday Inn and Suites and just loved the place. Immaculately clean!!! Best covid practices we have seen. Beds extremely comfortable and quality linens. My favorite was the wide, walk in shower. As an older person, it was very much welcomed. Breakfast was delicious, even the coffee, which also offered my favorite flavored cream. Again, food areas extremely clean and sanitized. We will be back.
Like many of the Holiday Inn Express weve stayed in, this one is right up there with the best! Everything is up to date, well-stocked, and clean. The only problem was the young lady at the front desk, working the late-night/graveyard shift. It was obvious that she was miserable and did not want to be there. She was one of the most unfriendly persons, Ive ever met, and she made me feel very uncomfortable whenever I had to ask her a question. I was happy, however, to see they had a washer and dryer because I really needed to do some laundry.
We had a great stay at the hotel. The location was perfect (we walked to Buttermilk Falls and all the shopping). The hotel felt new, was quiet and clean! It is as all the other guests wrote.BUT…Management should be aware of the “free breakfast” (a major reason for considering this property in the first place). There was limited food on the first morning, which shocked us, and the second morning, even less. We were told (can’t make this up) that the reason that there was no bread or bagels was because of covid. We filled out a form for what we wanted, the staff prepared our requests and that was it. No seconds allowed. For the money we paid, it was unacceptable. I am sure that hotel owners subcontract out the food service – time to find a vendor that manages to serve delicacies like bananas, peanut butter, ran out of certain cereals, bread, or bagels. How about a second helping of eggs to offset the lack of other food products?
The overall stay was very nice. I enjoyed the room and it was very clean. Service at the front desk was not always available and I had to wait for someone to show up more than once. Breakfast was a little disappointing due to Covid. We could only order once from a list and there was no going back for more. Some of the items were not as imagined and I would have chose something else if I could have seen what I was getting. For the price it was good value and I would stay again.
Overall super experience. The check-in was smooth and a key was already made up. There were cookies available. The room was clean and spacious. Nice ambient lighting. Pillows were comfy and the firmness of the mattress was just right for me.There were lots of outlets and USB charging ports for convenience.A Keurig single cup machine was available in the room with a microwave.Fitness room had free weights and a multi use cable machine for resistance training. The cardio machines were all equipped with working TV monitors. Plenty of sweat towels for use.Got up in the middle of the night and longed for some hot cocoa. Chris the graveyard shift staff was very helpful in securing some hot cocoa mix to replenish the coffee/tea station. He even prepared a fresh pot of coffee in case the hot cocoa did not do the trick for me. He even commented that breakfast staff makes a good breakfast of eggs, potatoes and sausages.Breakfast in the morning was super. Gloves were required but thats to be expected. The eggs and sausages were definitely tasty.I liked the offering of Vanilla Soy Milk as an alternative to dairy milk. But if course, my most are the cinnamon rolls. These are the only cinnamon rolls which I carve for.Check out was super easy and efficient.I certainly enjoyed my pleasant stay at another Holiday Inn Express.
I was in town for a couple of days attending a swim meet. Hotel staff was very friendly and the hotel was beautifully decorated for the holiday season. Only disappointing part of my stay was the breakfast bar. They were out of several items both days of my stay and continually ran out of food items
Very spacious and clean room. Hotel seems new and well taken care of. Check in was fast and easy. Breakfast options were limited due to supply shortage, and the lady serving it wasnt very cordial, which made the breakfast experience poor.My main disappointment was being charged by the online booking company before booking, and by the hotel after my stay, which is causing me to do many calls in a time that call centers are very hard to talk to.
Breakfast could have been better. You fill out an order form and then turn it in. They plop your stuff in containers and dont tell you until theyre handing it to you that theyre out of things (in this case, the omelette). It was very disappointing. This system also leaves bunches of people standing around in the dining room, this is a perfect example of how COVID-19 spreads. It wouldve been safer to have a serve yourself line and direct people to do so and then move away. Otherwise, its a great hotel. Clean, friendly front desk staff. The room is great! I will visit again and just skip breakfast.
I stay here often. This was my only one bad experience. It could push me to a competitor if Ithaca had more options. The room may have been hurriedly cleaned or not at all. Someone didnt check. There was only one bath towel. Previous guest left personal towel. We checked in rather late and had own towels so did not make an issue of it but it made us wonder if the sheets had been changed. Now, here is the kicker. While checking out in the morning, we mentioned it to the staff member and she was nonchalant. Smiled like whatever, directed us to drop keys, and just went about her business. She definitely isnt dedicated or quite complacent.
I don’t know if the hotel is insanely short staffed right now or they just plain don’t want to do the job, but this is the first time I was told unless we were to stay more than five days, no cleaning service would be provided. Also just be aware that you may find suspicious stains on your comforter and you can request to have it changed three times without anything happening. Definitely the WORST HOTEL EVER. Stay away.
It was definitely an amazing stay! I stayed for 4 days 3 nights. The staff is friendly and all of the facilities are very clean! My advise would be that housekeeping be a little more attentive. I had to ask for more towels, some soap, and little things, but that may be because I was there for a few nights. Housekeeping was very kind and efficient though! Breakfast was always amazing and hot and the location is beautiful. 10/10 would stay again!
Hotel looked nice with great landscaping and well-kept grounds. Good and plentiful free parking. Cleanliness was suspect - stained carpets in public areas, stained and dirty luggage carts, empty hand sanitizers. Breakfast waite staff was excellent. Breakfast choices and portions limited due to Covid 19 restrictions but otherwise very good. Charged $25 additional upon check-in for unclear reasons that are not shown on bill. Two separate charges for $22 and $3; only $23 refunded with no additional services used. Overall good stay anyway. Rooms are comfortable and quiet although the light switches are quirky - had to get help to figure out how to turn on lights.
Staff up front was ok. The place is overall fairly clean. We stayed for four nights and never received room service once. We had to ask the front desk anytime we needed towels or trash bags. Our door didn’t lock. We contacted the front desk and let them know and nothing was done about it. Air conditioning worked ok. They offer free breakfast which is nice. You fill out a paper with your order and they will put it into a to go container. They messed up our order several times. One time my 5 year old son was missing an item and my husband went back for it. The woman told my husband it wasn’t marked on the paper and took it from the trash to see if we were correct. This kind of rubbed us the wrong way. There were several people sitting around outside in the parking lot every time we walked out. Parking was very tight. For the money we paid I personally would have stayed somewhere else.
While the hotel and room were very clean, I feel it was overpriced. Breakfast was great.Only downside of the room, is there were no bath towel racks in the bathroom. There was only one rack that was big enough to hold two hand towels. We had to put the bath towels on coat hangers and find a place to hang them in the room.
I cannot offer high enough compliments to the great staff at the Holiday Inn Express of Ithica NY. I had booked at a neighboring property that simply didnt meet my standards. I came through the front door and was met by Nicole, the front desk manager, who talked with me and offered me a great room where I needed it to be. She was incredibly kind and caring. Whoever decided to move her up from housekeeping to front desk made the right move. Watching her deftly resolve concerns for other guests and work her magic is a testimony to her skill and incredible compassion. The breakfast staff the following morning worked hard preparing orders and ensuring things ran as smoothly as possible. A comfy bed, a sparkling clean room, and a great breakfast. Thanks very much. Ill be back.
Overall great experience. Staff was friendly and helpful. We were able to check in early upon arrival, and check out a bit late. Whole hotel seemed very clean and Covid compliant. Breakfast was fresh and the system in place to serve was very well organized and efficient. Comfy beds. Only negative was heater was noisy and there were stains on the carpeting both in our room and in the hallway outside our door. Close to great hiking. Parking lot is a bit tight, and it can be difficult to make a left out of the parking lot.
It’s hard to get past textured floor stains that look like human feces. Sure the linens were bright white clean, but watch your step when you get out of bed! There are signs telling how much extra cleaning they’ve done because of the pandemic, but cup rings from the last guest’s coffee are still on the counter. When you arrive late and need to get to bed, you don’t call the front desk to complain because, we’ll, those sheets are clean. So, you throw a towel over it and call in the morning. When you do, the only response is thanks for telling us, we’ll tell the manager. That must be what happens last time. They all told each other, and no one cleaned it up. Anyway, if you were attracted to the description of the hotel as “brand new,” don’t be. That e
We had a great time at The Holiday Inn Express. We stayed in the 2 Queen bed suite since we are a family of 5. It was very comfortable. The staff, especially Anthony, were very helpful and very good. However IHG should have hired more staff, the staff there were run off their feet! They were just so busy! Through it all, the staff kept smiling and being courteous, but it is not right to keep the hotel so understaffed. We really enjoyed the salt water pool too
All hotels triple the price during graduation weekend, but it takes particular gall to leave customers high and dry without housekeeping services including lack of adequate towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and no hair dryer. I had to traipse down to the front desk at least 3-4 times to obtain the basics while being charged absolutely historically high prices. To see one poor staff woman trying to man the entire breakfast experience for everyone in the hotel was comical and ridiculous. I felt guilty asking her for more half and half (the container was empty) because she was sweating and so busy trying to fill the orders of customers waiting in line. I find this shameful......absolutely shameful. It is one thing to charge a budget price to get a budget experience, but we paid through the nose to get a below average experience. The silver lining is that the beds are very comfortable and I slept well.
Great location and with convenience to dining and other essential stores. The property has a modern look and very clean. The rooms are spacious. Beds are luxurious and the bathroom was well appointed. They also served a full hot breakfast despite the pandemic restrictions. Great value definitely.
We came to Ithaca for a two day work trip. We arrived after dinner. Check in was quick and were in our room quickly. The location was convenient to our work site so the hotel location was good. Breakfast was good and was available early enough so we could get an early start. There was good eating choices for dinner close by. We were comfortable for our two night stay. Check out was quick. Our only real complaint was parking. Upon arrival the lot was full. We had to squeeze our vehicle into a spot. After our workday on Wednesday it was nearly full. It’s not a dealbreaker but it was a negative
For the most part the stay was as expected....very good. have to use accessible room. It would have been nice had there been a toilet paper holder. With my disability it was painful to reach behind for the paper each time. It also escaped several times and paper wasted as it rolled across floor (also the problem of retrieval and clean up). walk in shower a great help for this inconvenience. The only house phone was on the desk about 12 -15 feet from bed. A real challenge to answer . (room 228 very large). These were inconveniences but at least the TP issue could have been corrected as there were holes in wall where it should have been placed.A few staff members need to be more professional. There seemed to be a very relaxed or gotchu ya attitude.
Terrible. The management was made aware and agreed that the previous guests had smoked in the room. When the air clicked on or the fan/light in the bathroom was on it was even worse. Clearly the staff that turned the room over had to have been aware, yet they allowed me to check in. Was told the hotel was full so spent the night because it was 10pm when we arrived and too late to make a change. Checked out the next morning and told staff we would not pay. Front desk and assistant manager were not in uniform or even professionally attired and wholly incapable or unwilling to provide courtesy or service. Only interested in trying to get me to pay something.
Its a Holiday Inn, so what can I expect? The really big issue for me was how the hallways and elevators have the strongest urinal cake smell you could imagine. Look up in the elevator cars and there are no less than 4-6 massive air fresheners stuck to the walls. The kind that is usually one in a big room but now imagine 6 in a small elevator. Enough to about knock you over when you step in. I can only assume that something died in there or the elevators must have flooded at some point to warrant the insane amount of air fresheners in a 5x7 space. Lastly, my key card stopped working 3 times in a two day stay without ever having it near any electronics. So all in all, Id rather have gone somewhere else if they had not been sold out.
The room was rather large (although I did have a corner room - so I am not sure if that factored into it). The room was clean. Noise was a little bit of an issue. The hotel is directly on the highway. With my room facing the highway I could easily hear the noise which made it a little less relaxing. I loved the free (packaged) cookies in the lobby, that is a great addition to any stay. The breakfast was a typical Holiday Inn Express offering but due to covid you had to put your order in for someone to get it for you rather than the traditional buffet style. The person was doing a great job so it really was no issue. In general this was a good stay and I would recommend this property to others. The only negative was that I was not greeted as an elite. When I mentioned that I was platinum and asked about my welcome amenity points I was told I would get them at checkout (for every other property they hit my account before I get to my room). At checkout I inquired again and was told the system was down and they would be deposited when it came back up. I called a week later when my points were still not in my account and was told that the person would have to speak to the manager to access the system but the points would be put in later that day. I waited another week and the points still had not been added to my account.
When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by a very polite and friendly front desk receptionist. She very quickly checked us in and we headed to the room. The hotel lobby was very clean and well kept. When we got to our room, unfortunately, there was no seal on the door indicating that it was sanitized and the door was ajar. We were really tired and went in anyway. The room was very clean, neat, and spacious. The bathroom was sparkling clean and it seemed like everything has just been renovated. In the morning we got complimentary breakfast which was a bit of a surprise for us but we loved it. The food was very good. I definitely would recommend staying in this hotel and I would without hesitation book them again if I am in the area.
Pros: The salt pool was nice, warm and relaxing. The beds were comfortable.Cons: The staff were overworked. The Check-in person was also the chef who made breakfast, who also cleaned your rooms and took care of other tasks within the hotel. When we checked in we were told that our room wasnt clean and that we would be put into a different room. This is odd, as even pre-covid, no one wants to be told that their room is dirty. This left a bad taste in our mouth as we felt that if our room was dirty then how many rooms in the hotel were actually clean.
I could hear the guest next door or upstairs especially if they are running around. The breakfast options could be more diverse. And there are not much snack options available at the front desk to purchase. I had to run around trying to get wine opener when everything is about to be closed. It is a very new and clean hotel. I would definitely stay here if I am around the area again but I hope the market will have better variety of items to be purchased.
We had multiple rooms and they REEKED of mold. I dont mean that they smelled musty - I mean they REEKED. We tried to move rooms but the hotel was too full. It was disgusting and Ive never encountered anything like it at any hotels Ive stayed in previously. Im still shocked they thought it was acceptable to put people in those rooms.
We booked a room for a staycation, primarily to relax in the pool with our child. Our room was spacious and clean. All guests/staff were wearing masks, and there were many hand sanitizing stations available. The pool was warm and relaxing. Overall, we had a lovely experience and plan to return soon.
Positive: Generous breakfast. Working hard to comply with COVID issues. Negative: My 10 year old granddaughter did not like the saltwater pool, even though I told her it is ecologically better and better fit her skin. Oh well. We swam in nearby state parks and lakes. Maybe it was good she didn¿t like the pool since we got outside mo
Hotel was very new. The front desk staff was very welcoming and informative. Room was very comfortable with many updates. Bed was comfortable with many extra pillows. Bathroom was incredibly clean. Wifi was fantastic. The only weakness I found was with the availability of certain breakfast items. There were a lot of guests staying at the hotel at the time of my stay and breakfast items went fast without being replenished. Outside of that I would highly recommend staying at this hotel!
What more can you ask for. Only stopped for a night on a visit to the finger lakes region. Visiting a relative that rented a home for a week in the area. Much happier staying in the HIE than the home they rented. We had our privacy, and our QCC room. They did breakfast the right way in this hotel. They set up a table station before entering the BF area, with gloves and hand sanitizer. The spacing was clearly marked to stay away from the next person in line. A notice was posted to wear masks if not vaxxed. (We wear them regardless that we both were vaccinated in February).I might add the associates were all welcoming.
The cleanliness of the rooms and the hotel it self were good the staff were excellent and courteous. The beds were comfortable and room was spacious. The only disappointment was that I didnt get granted the late check out and the breakfast options werent like other IHG hotels I have stay in the past.
We went hiking in Ithaca so we picked this hotel because of reviews and decent price. The hotel was fairly new and well kept. The staff was pleasant and check in and breakfast. The room was very clean. I brought my own disinfectant wipes and wipes down everything after came in the room. I like the design of the room- very neat and efficient. The toiletries were great. I like the setup for breakfast. We filled out the orders. Then the staff got us breakfast. Hand sanitizers were everywhere in the breakfast area and lobby. Overall we had a pleasant stay.
This property is very new and the rooms have great illumination and I love the hooks they put to hang things bags, coats, etc so everything is kept organized, same as the little bench to put all the luggage saves a lot of time! The bathroom is so nice, maybe I just add that the sink is little messy with the water, but nothing that drying with a towel cant solve.
The room we requested top floor far away from elevator for quietness was found uncleaned on arrival. No apology, just re-assigned to ground floor room in high traffic noisy room right next to elevators and maintenance room.In times of Covid you have to question the cleaning policy to let this slip.We got little sleep due to traffic outside door and noise from room above having little sound proofing. We paid relatively high rate for this room in fairly new hotel and expected much better service and sleep!
This location is pretty far off the standards Im used to for this brand. The front desk staff is very apathetic and not personable. IHG: These people are the face of your company and usually the only people guests interact with. This is Ithaca. Surely you can find some hotel school students or graduates interested in making an impact?Cleanliness of the room was decent. The safety equipment on the door and climate control are not in good working order. As a long time IHG customer, Im aware of what the staff is supposed to do and training is seriously lacking here. I was not greeted appropriately, nor provided the amenities Im supposed to get with my rewards status level. Very disappointing considering the rates IHG is commanding in this area.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was very nice and clean. I really appreciate that this hotel made an effort to still offer ammenties while putting social distancing and mask requirements in place. Ive stayed at other hotels where they simply closed their food service and fitness centers because it was less work for them with Covid. This hotel still offered guests the full experience with measures in place for safety. I really enjoyed the breakfast and it was great that they packed it to go for us. The hotel was fully booked for our second night and though the staff was clearly busy they were stillattentive. Also despite the high occupancy we did not have to wait very long to have the elevator to ourselves or for breakfast service.
First of all, while I was disappointed with the property, the young lady at the front desk was outstanding. She even remembered my name from checking in the day before. This property is in dire need of some TLC. Slapping a fresh coat of paint on the walls can only do so much. I realize COVID has slowed or stopped a number of projects and this may have been one of them. Our first room smelled of smoke and had cigarette burn marks on the carpet and a piece of furniture. We requested and received a different room, while still dated and needing some minor repairs it was better. The water pressure was OK and the bed/pillows were acceptable. It also has a very odd driveway to the front door for check-in. On a positive note, the grounds were very well kept.
I had to travel to Ithaca very suddenly, and ended up staying at this hotel for a week. It was more than I would generally spend on a hotel, but it was so nice to have such a spacious, comfortable space to come back to every evening after many stress-filled days. The full-size minifridge saved me a ton on food while I was there, especially with the amazing Wegmans right down the road. The breakfast options were pretty typical of full complimentary breakfasts, with eggs, bacon or sausage, oatmeal, yogurt, cold cereal, pancakes, and pastries. I only had the eggs, bacon, and oatmeal, and they were decent. More gluten-free options would be amazing! The bed was insanely comfortable, even the pillows - and I generally hate hotel pillows. I loved the bench designed to hold your suitcase, and the desk setup was very comfortable and necessary for my evenings spent working remotely. As for staff, everyone was friendly and my room was always cleaned up very nicely. Sandy, who I chatted with at breakfast, was amazingly helpful and kind! The hotel is in a great location, with nothing in Ithaca more than 10-15 minutes away. Great choice if youre visiting Cornell or Ithaca College. I had some complaints, like hallway noise, a shower head that mostly poured water, and pretty slow WiFi. But these issues were minor - in general I had a VERY comfortable stay and would recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the area. I learned that hotel rates in Ithaca skyrocket over the weekend, so my overall rate was a bit high, more than Ive paid at other HIE locations. But I stayed at another hotel for my first week in the area for a very similar rate, and this Holiday Inn Express was much nicer!
Every thing about the room was great. The biggest problem was I had was that I called the night before, asking for early check in for 3 rooms. I was promised that this would happen and was given the time I could arrive. When I did arrive on time, and asked for my early check in, I was informed that they had heard nothing about it, but could check into 2 of the rooms then. So I could not cancel the third and went down the street to the other hotel for my other room I needed then and was accommodated. Though I called ahead and stressed the absolute need for early check in, did not seem to matter. Also I am a Spire Elite and I asked for my welcome package, and was actually denied. Not sure why they had a full cooler.
Front desk lady was just awful acted like she was the only staff in the entire hotel. Breakfast the first day was a joke there was no hot food left, no coffee or hot water for tea the front desk lady was handing out milk and cereal. 2nd day the maintenance/pool guy told us to help ourselves and a sign said the oven was broke. 3rd day was pretty much same as 1st day so we just skipped it totally. Call the front desk, since we had no room service, for towels and toilet paper she said you can come down to the front desk but we dont have any clean towels and she wasnt sure when there would have any. We had to schedule appts to be in the pool any when we went there was all kinds of hair throughout the water it was really gross. Call customer service but no one ever got back to me. Big surprise that the hotel has such poor service they really dont care about there customers.
We had a truly great experience at this hotel. Everything was clean, fresh and modern. Charging ports were readily available, and the rooms were beautifully appointed. The front desk staff were extremely courteous and helpful. It seemed like a lot of thought and care went into this hotel. From the toiletries to the breakfast bar, everything seemed to go beyond offerings at similar places. We were greeted personally, given lots of useful local information and made to feel like family
The room seem relatively new. Thought there will be some perks like free bottle waters or upgrades as platinum member. Didn’t get anything or thank for being a platinum member like other girl brands. Bathroom sink was dirty, had some dirt in it, and also an existing opened bar of hand soap is sitting by the sink, normally that’s something individually wrapped and guests have to open them. Not sure if it’s left over from previous guest. Also can’t find the hair dryer anywhere in the room as well, not a big deal but nice to have. Just comparing to other hotel brands.
Room is clean, bed is comfy, but blankets are too heavy for summer if you turned off your ac or set your room temperature above 70. We stayed at first level , I can hear the people talking in the hallway until after midnight and street traffic noises . If you are light sleeper, ask for a quieter room
Wish I had zero stars to give. The worst breakfast service i every experienced in Continental breakfast. The kitchen team is so rude.for vegetarian, they only had potatoes and that too they gave so little and I asked for more as all I took was potatoes, muffin and an apple. When I asked for little more potatoes, and they were so rude and said no, they cannot give more that is all everyone is getting. It is potatoes for Gods sake!! Below is what I got.. the manager comes to say that is all they give out to each person. People are treated more nicely at a soup kitchen then this. This holiday inn needs to change their kitchen service team if they want to people to come back.. this is what you get for $200/night .
I would definitely recommend this location. We came to this area because we are going to hike. We drove 4 hours from Queens, NY. I know that 3pm is the check in time and we got there minutes before 3pm. The front desk person informed me that our room is not ready yet and it will take 30 more minutes. I just asked why the room is not ready, it’s almost time to check-in and we also want to atleast take a little rest because we want to go to Buttermilk State park after. He told me that we can wait in the breakfast room. He even told me that we can put our things in a dirty room while the housekeeping is cleaning. Why would he recommend me to put my belongings to a dirty room. i dont think that would be a good suggestion at all especially during this pandemic. But over-all experience was good.
The room was clean and new in appearance. The room and bathroom were very roomy, including a large shower. Having a refrigerator and microwave was a plus. The heating/cooling system was loud at night, so I had to turn it off completely to sleep. Other than that it was a great place to stay and I appreciated the extra precautions they were taking to protect us from Covid exposure. They had lots of hand sanitizers around and reduced exposure at breakfast by using staff to hand out food instead of allowing guests access to the food line.
Definitely positives here, but we would not return. So much noise all around, it was hard to fall asleep and stay asleep. Heard everything from adjacent rooms. Even odors from adjacent rooms entered ours! Including but not limited to pot smoking. We did inform front desk but she did not move us. They should space folks out, but I dont think they do.
We (4) felt like royalty. It is clean, welcoming, quiet, appropriately bright, easy to navigate. The pool was delightful. The food was exceptional with a large variety of both hot and cold food. The staff was professional yet kind and attentive. The room was extremely comfortable. We were privileged to be able to stay here! There is easy access, and there is shopping nearby.
While the hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the entire property was very clean, there were several quirks during our stay. the first room we were given had a sewer smell in the bathroom but the staff moved us to a new room without issue. the air conditioning unit was very hard to control in our room and it was either too cold or too stuffy. Our bathroom door was difficult to open and close. The pool was out of service which was not the hotels fault however it would have been nice to have been notified prior to our arrival since my son was looking forward to it. Otherwise, everything was good, including cleanliness and comfort, which are, to me, the most important things in a hotel.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much. We stayed here during COVID and we felt safe with the precautions the hotel took. They still served breakfast but orders had to be placed for safety. The rooms were spacious, clean and the beds were very comfortable. The location was excellent, we were able to walk to Buttermilk Falls and other attractions (wineries, brewery, restaurants, stores) all were easy to get to. Thank you to the staff for a great stay! Would def. recommend and plan to go back!
I stay frequently at IHG hotels and this one is top notch. The pool is very warm, 93degrees, maybe a little too warm but I wont complain after being in some at 75 and freezing... The breakfast was good, the only thing missing was the biscuits and gravy. I didnt see pancakes either, but they did have both bacon and sausage and both egg omelets the day I was there. The hotel is very clean and my room was spotless.. Great job!
This was a very nice Holiday Inn Express. It seemed to be new or remodeled. The bathroom was especially modern and had a really great shower. I like the new shampoo/body gel/conditioner dispensers--made it much easier to use than those little tiny bottles. As always, the bed was super comfortable. Everything was very clean and had everything we have come to expect when we stay at one. However, the prices are starting to reflect how nice the rooms are. We used to rely on the Express Inns to be affordable, but they are starting to climb out of our price range.
The hotel seemed very nice, however when I went to turn my bed down there was blood on the covers. I was absolutely disgusted and could not believe that was over looked - to me this means they DO NOT change the top blankets on the beds. I called to the front desk to get a new blanket and she asked - do you want me to come look at it? I said No, I want a new blanket and this one to be removed! She came up with a blanket and new cover separate, handed them to me and walked out of the room. Very concerning especially in the times of covid. It makes me wonder what else wasnt cleaned properly.
We stayed there multiple days while we visited state parks in the area. The room was very clean and comfortable. Since COVID was an issue the rooms werent cleaned daily. I would have liked to have had the room was stocked for our 3 night stay so every time we ran out of something we didnt had to call. The staff was always very pleasant to deal with. They still held the breakfast every morning but were out of a lot of options during our stay. We had to fill out a form and someone put it together for us. The staff told us they were waiting for a delivery. The pool was nice and location was great to visit the state parks. We would go back.
Hard to blame the small crew who were working hard to overcome lack of staffing and resources. The Front Desk person was doing triple duty. We blame management. Oven broke so our free breakfasts were compromised, with no reduction in charges. We had to fetch our own toilet paper and towels. Hallways full of dirt. We actually checked out a day early. We are long time big Holiday Inn Express fans, but this experience was a mess.
This could be a five-star review, unfortunately, we had a room facing the road, whenever a truck drove by not only did you hear them the bed shakes. There is also a very large gap between the adjoining rooms and we could hear every word they said in the other room, which was really bad since they came in so late. We had to place too large towels in the gap to block the noise. The beds are so high that short people like my 75-year-old mother can barely get in and out of them. Breakfast was delicious and the staff was very friendly.
Greeted by friendly staff, you enter a modern, clean and welcoming hotel. The room layout is smart and up to the standards of a 21st century family. Comfortable beds, charging docks, and luggage bench are some of the first things you’ll notice. Bathroom is spacious and clean. Shower stall is modern and spacious with it’s sliding glass door. Pool was fun and inviting for my kids. Breakfast food quality was superior and we enjoyed the modern comfortable dining area. We really loved this hotel and would stay here again in a heart beat.
Location was pretty close to everything. The check in was quick and easy. The staff were all very helpful. The rooms and whole place was very clean and newly remodeled. The pool was nice. An average indoor pool size. The breakfast was good. I really wasnt expecting it to be as good as it was. There are also washers and dryers for guests. Would definitely stay again.
I have stayed at IHGs hotels for many years thru my business trips, domestically and internationally. I am a spire elite member. This past experience was not the best, starting with the front desk giving us a hard time about checking in 30 minutes earlier, even though the room was empty for over 24 hours, having to come down to request additional towels for the kids, realizing at night there was not a single tea bag or coffee capsule in the room, just the coffee machine and to top it off, heading to have the complimentary breakfast at 8:15 am to be told the kitchen has closed and there is no more breakfast available for the day.....front desk words:... it happens sometimes.... Very disappointed.Hopefully this was a unique event and it will not detract me for staying again at IHGs hotels.Regards.SJN
We arrived at 7pm after a nice long drive through the countryside and hiking at Watkins Glen. Our room was just what we wanted, King Leisure, Non-smoking. We enjoyed the swimming pool, and the convenience of nearby restaurants. After checking in, we were left alone, which is how we like it. The TV had choices to our liking, the bed was comfortable, and the AC was too cold, so we adjusted it to the perfect temperature for us. The whole place is like new, like we were the first ones staying there. In the morning, we drove less than a half-mile to Buttermilk Falls for more hking.
Throughly enjoyed my stay. In fact, when I came back the following week on a different trip, I stayed here again. Enjoyed my rest, the rooms are very clean and spacious. Lots of space to unpack your suitcases, unwind and feel quite at comfortable. The bathrooms are spacious and clean - they always gave me extra towels anytime I asked. Complimentary coffee/tea is a nice thing to have when you wake up in the morning and dont feel like going out of your room.Free parking, Internet and breakfast is an excellent service that not many hotels provide.
Smooth check-in, provided me space to train a new employee, staff was incredibly giving of their time and efforts. Guest room was sparkling clean and comfortable, breakfast was excellent and they made sure we could get around during a major snowstorm. Keep up the great work!
We were in Ithaca for some hiking in the nearby state parks and some relaxation and fine dining at some of the restaurants nearby. The hotel was conveniently located and well appointed. They take their cleanliness seriously and everyone was very friendly and helpful. It felt like a bonus that both breakfast and the pool were available during our stay.
We appreciated this hotel for the clean room and bathroom. Good room layout and minimalist decor. Room was not ready for check in at 6pm when we arrived. We were disappointed particularly when the rude lady at check in told us we were welcome to take our business elsewhere. There was no apology offered or explanation for why the room was not ready. We questioned when the room would be ready and the quick response was ‘I don’t know, they have to call me.’ I started looking for rooms at nearby hotels. She then informed me after checking the computer that the room was now ready. Bottom line the attitude was off putting particularly because the room was not ready and no apology or explanation was provided. I would not have written this review if the conversation had started by an apology for the delay. That got us upset after a long day of travel. Otherwise this property met our expectations.
We like the spacious room with two queen size beds as well as a sofa bed (we are a family of 5). Everyone slept very well. We also enjoyed the heated pool and hot breakfast with many different choices. The location is perfect (walking distance to Buttermilk Falls State Park),
The entire facility was clean and well cared for. Definitely following Cleveland Clinic guide lines. As others have mentioned there is a sewer smell for which I used towels to cover floor drain. Pool unusable previous notification may have been helpful. For handicap room the bed was too high. Stool not useable due to personal restrictions. Breakfast choices OK. At least the cinnamon rolls were available. Missed the biscuits and gravy. Whenever needed or met staff they were friendly and helpful. Considering the time of travel would definitely recommend HI Express Ithaca
After traveling frequently for my job and accumulating IHG points, i have stayed at 10 different IHG properties - 8 different holiday inn express and suite properties - in the past 3 months. I therefore have an expectation of a Holiday Inn Express hotel- easy and pleasant check in, clean room, hopefully having more than just shampoo/soap/lotion/bath gel/other soap in the toiletries, comfortable bed, microwave and fridge, assortment of breakfast foods in the morning. A few of my hotels in the past have not met these expectations. This hotel, however, did. Holiday Inn Expresses are pretty standard hotel rooms, with all the essentials you need for traveling and at a reasonable price. I stayed for leisure this time, and my partner and I used our points on a king leisure suite. It was a spacious room, with a work desk/chair, a comfy couch, a clean and well-lit bathroom, and a relaxing bed. We were in a corner room but I did not experience any problems with noise. The breakfast the next morning was as expected. The hotel had nice festive decorations for the holidays, and the staff were pleasant. Krista, a front-desk employee, was wonderful and extremely helpful when asked about restaurants in the Ithaca area. Overall, a nice location - great if you like Wegmans or Buttermilk falls - with ample parking and about a 5 minute drive from downtown. We would be interested in returning.
As we are touring colleges and traveling a lot, I was looking for a budget friendly but respectable place to stay. This hotel far exceeded my expectations and I am picky. It was the most affordable of the ones I was looking for and wNile there were closer hotels to Cornell, three miles is nothing. The hotel is very new and everything was in perfect shape. Even the nicest hotels we stay at are always worn in some way. Not at all here! The modern style of the furnishings and the spaciousness was a delight. The service was excellent and helpful. The breakfast was solid with good choices. One tip that I forgot to use myself--ask for a room away from the elevator. The dings of the arrival of the elevator and the returning guests were quite audible and woke me more than once. Would definitely return.
I was quite impressed with our stay at the Holiday Inn Express Ithica! The staff was amazing! Always cheerful and happy to help! The breakfast offerings were good, especially the little omelettes and the apple cinnamon oatmeal cups with additional walnuts and raisins. Im gluten free, so I was pleased to have something I could eat! Our room was clean and the beds and pillows, super comfortable! While some people complain of the traffic noise, it didnt bother me at all. There was a Keurig in the room which was nice! We had one issue where our room was not cleaned the day before we left. That resulted in us having to beg towels, toilet paper and Kleenex from the front desk. Other than that, I hope to stay here again. There is an abundance of stores, fast food and nice restaurants in the area and amazing sites to see including Buttermilk Falls just up the road. If you have more tine to explore the area, Memorial Day starts the wine trail season!
We had a great one night stay at this hotel. Very clean with clean appliances too. There was tea/coffee available in the rooms, and it felt like a high-end hotel. The breakfast was sad, in its offerings, but we just grabbed something nearby. I would recommend the hotel to post signs on how it is cleaning the guest rooms to re-assure guests. I would definitely stay here and recommend it to others who are traveling in the region.
Close to all the schools and shopping centers, this location is ideal for families and business travel. The facility was spotless and the personnel were extremely customer service focused. There are many hotel choices in Ithaca including those nearer the Commons, but the Holiday Inn Express is perfectly located for an all around positive Ithaca experience.
The room was absolutely great ~ better than expected! The only problem I ran into was the bed was too high. Im not overly short ~ 52 ~ but the bed was at my waist!!! Im sure Im not the only one with this problem. I spoke to the front desk, and within minutes she brought me a small step stool ~ which worked fine ~ except that I was afraid Id fall out of bed!!! The walk in shower was absolutely awesome!!!! The breakfast the next morning however, was a big disappointment. I understand the reasoning for cutting back, but when we were told a hot buffet type breakfast that we could order and it would be prepared and brought to us, cold cereal, cold muffins and coffee just dont cut it.
I greatly enjoyed my stay. I arrived exhausted from my trip and much to my dismay, learned that I had no reservation. I had changed my reservation 3 times due to the weather. I was leery when I didnt receive an email confirmation but was told that it had to do with reserving with my points. It didnt matter because the woman checking me in took care of everything right away. without blinking an eye. I was very grateful for her professionalism and knowledge.
Our stay here was excellent. Room was very clean, beds are super comfortable with extra pillows, breakfast was great with many choices, coffee available all day as well. Staff was very friendly and the little food and beverage shop in the lobby was accessible late at night when we were hungry and staff at the desk was friendly and accommodating. We always stay here when we come back to this area.
Person with mobility impairment cannot use the shower or sink. Grab bar next to toilet is too high. Bed is too high. Staff is not capable of responding to these issues. IHG does not respond to calls on its help line. Dont bother visiting Customer Care or Contact Us for immediate attention as these resources are not actually available.
My experience with this hotel began the week before I checked in. Mike, the General Manager was and is AAMAZING! I faxed a Credit Card Auth form before even arriving in Ithaca and he was patient, knowlegable, and pleasant every time I called. As much as I have been to Ithaca, I had never stayed at this hotel. I was PLEASANTLY surprised by the hotel and the staff. Let me first talk about the hotel and rooms. The rooms are clean, comfortable, updated and contemporary. Even the bathroom was spacious! I read one of the reviews where someone said that the bed was uncomfortable. Well, I know everyone has their own experiences but I slept like a baby! The bed was comfortable and the pillows were fluffy like you were sleeping on a cloud. Each room has a refrigerator and a Keurig for your convenience......honestly, it is so nice , for this to be a small hotel, that you have a Keurig in your room!!!!!! I LOVE the thought and care that was put into this hotel. The television in your room is mounted, there is plenty of desk space and lighting and USB ports all over the room. The hotel has a nice size pool and fitness center and let me just talk about breakfast. Yes, it is a continental breakfast.....But it was VERY good! they have Omelets, sausage (plain and turkey) cereal, toast, juice , coffee, DELICIOUS little cinnamon buns that they keep HOT AND FRESH at all times and .....wait for it......... a PANCAKE MAKER!!!!!!!!!! The pancakes come out hot and fresh and they are very tasty folks....(can you tell I am a foodie.....lol...sorry its the little things that excite me.....lol) It was just a very nice addition to the complimentary breakfast. Most hotels have that same old waffle maker. Shout out to the Holiday Inn Select and Suites for stepping it up! Lastly, I want to talk about the staff and the Phenomenal customer service that they provided during my stay. Mike, (the GM), Courtney, Melissa and Krista...THANK YOU SO MUCH for your pleasant and personable demeanor and the pride and excitement you all show when you talk about this hotel. My daughter attends IC so I travel here frequently. This will be my hotel
Stayed here for a couple of nights and had a miserable experience . Walls and ceilings are paper thin. Didnt get a wink of sleep due to excessive noise.Room above me flooded and leaked down into my room through the bathroom fan and sockets . Staff informed me they had plumbing issues in the hotel . I could of been electrocuted. It made me nervous my whole stay fearing an electrical fire would happen due to their plumbing issues. Hotel should be closed until those issues are fixed. No housekeeping due to Covid , but the housekeeping staff were very nice and helpful. The breakfast staff were also very nice and the free hot daily breakfast was a plus. Kathren at the front desk was very nice and helpful , Bonnie on the other hand was worthless, and I cant believe she is the asst manager. Overall ,I doubt I would ever stay here again unless I was in a pinch. Changed hotels and had a much better experience.
Our family stayed in the same hotel for 8 nights the first time to explore finger lakes area. We love this facility! The staff is friendly, room is very clean and beddings are super comfortable. Our 8 yo son loves the indoor swimming pool and visited it everyday. We definitely will come back for another time!
A nice looking modern hotel with nice size and nicely laid out bathrooms. Excellent and friendly staff. The only reason I cannot rate the hotel excellently is because of its lack of cleanliness. The entrance, downstairs floors, and elevator floors were filthy with the same marks and stains still present after 24 hours. The shower in our bathroom was beyond filthy and the floor grey with dirt build up. The walls in our bathroom were quite dirty as well. The breakfast quality was not so great either, although the service again was wonderful. If the cleaning service would perform well, this hotel would be excellent!! I am certainly willing to give it another chance.
I have stayed at this HI express several times before so i was happy to come back - in town to pack up my daughters college dorm in july during the pandemic. I was disheartened to see only a few staff wearing masks although there were barriers up at the check in and i felt like the hotel looked organized and clean it was still upsetting to see very few staff following CDC guidelines. I came with a box of clorox wipes and my girls and i wiped down our room upon arrival. All went well until the evening when the AC would not shut off and it was freezing. Bonnie at the front desk was very helpful but after she came into our room (masked thankfully as we were too) she checked the thermostat wasnt working and i suggested new batteries. She agreed and returned 10 minutes later. No luck. So we ended up getting moved down the hall (clorox wipes again) to an upgrade - big deal, just an added couch. So we settled in by 10pm and for the next 2 hours or so all we heard were people/kids running around stomping and playing above us. SUPER annoying, the floors are clearly poorly made. Plus, why did she put us in an upgrade knowing full well a young family with kids were directly above us?? VERY frustrating, and they were up at 7am, bumps and stomping again! I will be hesitant to book here again.
Our room was clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was courteous and efficient. The complimentary breakfast was good and the staff handling the breakfast was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The common areas and elevators were neat and clean and the cookies provided in the lobby were delicious.
This looks like a newer hotel. Two huge beds....my friend had to get a stepping stool from the Front Desk in order to get on her bed but we both agreed it was the best nights sleep in a hotel we have had in a long time. The bathroom was clean and spacious and the shower was roomy. The room has a fridge, a microwave and coffee machine. We were also able to control our heat/air from the wall unit. The pool is a heated salt water pool with easy walk in, perfect for kids or if you need the easy access.
The whole room smells like mold. The room we stayed in was on the highway side, the room was NOT sound proof...We could hear all the noises outside. But the lady Receptionist when we checked in was nice and the ones who served breakfast. We needed new towels, the lady from housekeeping said I have to request from the front desk. I called so many times but no one picked up the phone. (Housekeeper kindly Provided us 3 towels).
Holiday inn Express is my go to hotel and this one exceeded my normal expectations. From the cleanliness to the professionalism of the staff made our stay safe, comfortable, and very enjoyable. Big shout out to the breakfast staff, who under the circumstances that they needed to operate under, did a superb job of taking care of the guests. If you are going to Ithica, I recommend Holiday inn Express. You wont be disappointed.
My stay at the hotel was for the most part a typical stay. The room was tidy and clean and the hotel seemed to be operating as normal excluding the masks. The two things that were disappointing were the room keys and the breakfast. The issue with the room key was that we could only get one. I asked for more for my other guests and was given more twice that didn’t work. I know that I was not the only one that was having this issue because others said that theirs did not work as well. The issue with the breakfast was the speed and accuracy. Because of everything going on, we had to mark down what we wanted on a sheet and hand it in. I don’t think I ever got what I marked down exactly for the two times I ate there. I understand that many people came down to breakfast at the same time, but there has to be a little quicker system or something to speed things up a little.
I love the Holiday Inn Express in Ithaca! Have stayed here several times to visit my daughter at Cornell University and am never disappointed. Front desk staff is friendly and welcoming, rooms are incredibly comfortable and clean. I would put these guest rooms up against many 4-star rated resort properties! Beds are always so comfortable, ensuring a great nights sleep. Free and bountiful breakfast is a nice inclusion. Highly recommend for your next stay.
We had good experience staying here. The front desk people were very friendly; during our stay, the room key didnt work, and they have to open the room door for all the guests all the time when needed. Our room is clean, and it is up to us to maintain it during our stay, in this difficult time, it is a different experience but it is okay with us. Will definitely recommend to our friends when they visit here.
We stayed at this hotel for the second time . Both times we enjoyed our stay a lot! Very clean and quiet. Quality breakfast and heated pool. We forgot a couple of things: reception lady replaced them right away. Not to mention warm cookies that we were pleasantly welcomed with. Pillows were marked with soft and firm words on the top of the pillowcases. Beds are modern and high. Conditioner was working softly( during the night it is a huge plus!). We had a good rest that night.
What really impressed me was how clean the hotel was. The rooms were very spacious. The staff took care to make sure safety procedures were set in place from rooms cleaning to serving breakfast. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated within 10 min from Ithaca, 10-20 min from lake Cayuga and the State parks.
Our family stayed at this hotel as a little weekend getaway, with a concert at the center of our adventures. When we arrived, the front desk staff had just finished baking cookies (they were a delicious and a welcome treat after several hours in a car), and check in was fast and easy. The warm, salt-water pool was welcoming and lots of fun! Our room was inviting and comfortable immediately. Breakfast was full of options and everyone left satisfied. We would highly recommend this Holiday Inn in Ithaca!
Bed was comfortable after you climbed up to get in. Please consider that not everyone is 6 feet tall or physically fit. Handicap room should have a lower bed. Entire facility amazingly clean and well managed. Pool not available. Should have been someway to advise before arrival or arrangements made to share another facilities pool. Grandchildren very disappointed.
I was very happy with the quality of the hotel room. The bed was one of the more comfortable beds Ive had in a hotel. I was very happy that the toiletries included make-up remover wipes. Its an often forgotten item which was nice to have in the room. Seems like a small thing, but when youre getting ready for bed, realizing you forgot make-up remover, its nice that its right there. There was an oddly placed chaise lounge in the room, but it was comfortable once moved away from the wall :-)
We stayed two nights here as part of our vacation and were happy with the hotel and location. It allowed us to easily visit several of the falls in the area and to also tour some of the wineries. We also went to Watkins Glenn which was only about 20 miles away. Room was quiet and the breakfast was well stocked each morning. In addition there were always cookies available during check-in and later in the evening which was nice. The hotel is very modern design. I wouldnt hesitate to stay here next time we are in the area.
Most hotel chains will have a decent bed and a clean room. For what sets someone apart in this business is the quality of the staff and the quality of the breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful whenever I interacted with them.I like a hot, protein packed breakfast to get me started I the morning. I really enjoyed the western omelets and sausages.
We spent a brief, but enjoyable weekend in the Ithaca area and were beyond pleased with the cleanliness and modern design of the Ithaca Holiday Inn Express. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and immaculate. At times we heard a little noise, but our room was on the first floor near the main lobby. The beds and pillows were luxurious. We look forward to visiting this area again soon and will definitely stay here again!
I work for asplundh brush control and travel alot for work properly 40+ weeks a year and the month I stayed in Ithaca at the holiday inn. I had 3 rooms was probably one of my best experiences at any hotel....the staff are very friendly. Mike the GM took very good care of us and always asked if there was anything we needed. The rooms were very clean. The front desk girls are very knowledgeable about there area on where to eat or what to do for fun.....Im am looking forward to stay at this hotel next summer when my crew and I return...Thanks for everything Josh
The hotel was easy to locate. Check-in was lightning fast. Lobby and elevators were clean and well-lit. Hotel room was huge! Vey clean and laid out nicely with couch, coffee table and plenty of space to put multiple suitcases. Bathroom was large and clean. I was really impressed.
The lady taking care of breakfast was so friendly and walked around making sure everyone had everything they needed. She made you feel like you were a guest in her dining room! She wished my son good luck on his college audition then the next morning she remembered and asked him how the audition went. It was a very warm welcoming feeling at this hotel!
We were in town for one of our many college visits. An easy distance from Cornell and Ithaca College! I always thought our beds at home were the best around. Our beds at this hotel were incredible! We all slept like babies! That usually doesnt happen away from home. The room was incredibly clean, fresh and the hotel had everything we could have hoped for...for the most part. We enjoyed this stay so very much. I would have been even more impressed if the breakfast area had glass or recyclable products. As it turned out I ate off of a napkin and with my fingers. Not even a glass coffee mug. Styrofoam is the worst! My wish is that they will work on doing their part to make a difference. Until a change is made I will bring my own utensils, for a while. Loved that internet was included as well as parking. All of the staff were very professional, kind and helpful.
We stayed one night on our way to our final destination. The hotel was very clean and we assumed it was brand new. We were told it had been open for two years. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. We did have to get up in the middle of the night to turn the air conditioning colder, it seemed to have stop cooling in the middle of the night. We would stay again at this location.
I stayed at this hotel with my teenage children and was very happy there was enough WiFi for them to enjoy their devices and TV stations for me to unwind. The room was clean and the desk staff was welcoming and accommodating. The warm complimentary cookies were a great touch when we arrived in the evening after a long drive. The breakfast was not the best but it got us on the road energized.
Location is good. Very close to buttermilk state park. Room and bathroom are clean. The only complaint I have is the wall is too thin. I got a room facing the road. You can hear the traffic very loud even on the top floor. If you are light sleepers, suggest requesting the room with number lower than 10 of each floor (101~110, 201~210,301~310 or 401~410) so your room face the parking lot at the back.
Even though I live close to this hotel, my family chooses to stay here a few times a year to have a little get away. Of all the hotels I have stayed at (which is a lot as I am a frequent traveler) this hotel is my favorite when I’m traveling with my children! I am always greeted at the door as a valued member, the staff is friendly and always helpful, the hotel is clean and modern, the rooms are clean and comfortable without looking too run down or over used, the breakfast is good and kept full, but the real shining star of this hotel for us is the pool! It is always so warm and clean and we love that it is saltwater! We definitely will be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone needing a place to stay!
I am usually not type to leave reviews, but I do not want anyone else to have to experience the same treatment in the future. The general manager, of the hotel, cancelled my reservation without my consent prior to my arrival. All hotels in the area were fully booked for the night due to students moving in to Cornell University. Karen and Chris, the check in staff at Holiday Inn Express, were extremely unfriendly and unwilling to assist me in finding alternative accommodations. They told me it was my fault. According to them, the reservation was cancelled prior to my arrival because my credit card was not authorized. This is complete nonsense, since I have an email confirmation from Holiday Inns own reservation website. And credit cards for hotel stays are not charged until check in. Karen also stated that the general manager called me numerous times and sent me multiple emails regarding my cancellation earlier that day, which is a straight up false. After speaking with IHG customer service for 2 hours from 2230-0030, they were still not able to find an alternative accommodation for my family and me. After all the communication and effort, I had to make own reservation at Hilton Canopy for $700 for 2 nights, paying out of my own pocket. Before leaving for Canopy, Chris explained that hiexpress.com, where I booked my reservation, is a third party and is not afflicted with the hotel. He suggested that, customers should call the hotel instead of booking the reservation online. To summarize from this experience, Ive learned that Holiday Inn Express staff, at this specific location, are extremely irresponsible and neglect customers who are victims to their companys overbooking practice. I will continue to update this review, as I resolve the situation with IHG customer service.
The hotel was new and clean. Beautifully decorated. Rooms were large. Bathroom was gorgeous. Bed was extremely comfortable. It was convenient having a coffee maker in my room as well as having coffee and cookies available in the lobby at all times. The front desk staff were very friendly helpful and accommodating.
I travel for work and this was my first time at this particular location. Adequate adjustments were made for Covid at the front desk. There were snacks offered instead of a breakfast and my only comment about that is perhaps the room rate should have reflected that change since thats one of the inclusions. I chose a suite which was spacious, comfortable and had optional areas to work or eat at. I was disappointed to find that there was no freezer included in the fridge as I often travel with ice packs and coolers. I appreciate that multi -use bottles of shampoo / conditioner / body were being utilized instead of the single use products. Now if you could get rid of those little bars of soap I could stop traveling with my own liquid hand soap lol. I utilized the workout center and my only comment would be that there was a sensor for the lights that kept going off while I was on the treadmill and I eventually gave up trying to keep them on. Those are just minor issues though, it was a good 1 night stay overall.
The staff was friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us during our several night stay. The rooms were spacious, had numerous outlets in convenient locations, and the beds were very comfortable. I was able to get great workouts in every day and the pool was very inviting.I would definitely return!
Excellent stay met our expectation, checking in and out was quick, staff were friendly. Room was clean so was the bathroom bed was comfortable. The location was good near the stores and not that far from downtown Ithaca. There was severe snow so could not get a pick up. Other than that stay was enjoyable and pleasant.
We had a great stay at this hotel. The hotel and guest room were super clean and attractive. The beds are comfy and the breakfast was really good. The great room with TV and all day tea and coffee was very nice and the donuts and cider served in the lobby was a very nice touch. The staff is courteous and friendly. The location to downtown Ithaca is perfect.
Clean, friendly staff, comfortable beds and a roomy shower. Only complaint was our room was located in the front of the building next to the busy street and we heard cars and tractor trailers hitting the pothole in the road at all hours of the night. It was annoying but my only issue with our stay.
Nice hotel the pillow are labeled with soft or harder, this is great for those that like different pillows. The person that cleaned the room made sure it was clean and boy you could smell the cleaning products. The staff at the breakfast is always so nice and speaks to every time Im there.
Nice clean hotel. Quite new. The only problem is the noise level. The building material seems a bit weak. People walking upstairs & outside, vacuuming next door, & all the traffic outside can clearly be heard. If you have trouble handling the noise like I do, you better ask for room facing the back. We did use the pool but had taken a look. Seems very nice also. There doesn’t seem to be enough parking space for everyone, but on non-busy day should be fine. They also have coin laundry.
My experience besides trying to sleep and being kept up since 2am and then 6am made my trip horrible. The staff and hotel are amazing!!!!! The people who were staying above me were absolute terrors! Super rude complained to the front desk and it stillDidn’t fix the problem. I understand hotel Walls can be thin but some people Need to understand common Courtesy. I’ve never ever had such an issue in a hotel.
I’ve stayed here before and it was much better but this time was actually horrific. In the bathroom all there was was one mini bar of soap. No vanity kit, lotion, etc. Also in the room there was a coffee pot but 0 pods, no cups, and no lids. The next morning went down to get breakfast over half an hour before it closed and no one was there to serve us so we served ourselves and got reprimanded for it. Then the sassy worker who reprimanded us finally started serving the others and blatantly said to them “Thank you for waiting, and not coming back here and helping yourselves” to the other ladies, while we were clearly in hearing distance. Maybe get yourself up and do it so your customers don’t have to? It was not just us, other people were very annoyed also. I watched a man storm out and say to the lady that his stay was terrible and he will not be coming back. Completely agree with him
This was a very nice hotel that seemed newly renovated. I am very picky about hotel cleanliness. Even though there were a few gross things, I still felt like this was overall a very clean hotel. There were some hairs on the floor by the bathtub and something that looked like poop or chocolate on the back of the door handle in the bathroom. Everything else in this hotel was crisp and clean.I would suggest that the employees not stand at the front door and smoke at a 100% no smoking hotel. Could you make them go behind the hotel?
From check in to check out, the staff are friendly and accommodating. The room and the bathroom could be cleaner, and the cleaning staff should pay more attention to detail. I dont know how a used hobby lobby shopping bag ended up on the pile of supposedly clean bath towels in the bathroom. There was also a lot of lint residue in the bathroom sink, and very visible streak marks on the faucet.
They have a machine where you press a button and receive pancakes! The pool was perfect and had a handicap accessible lift. The room was very clean and even had a fancy bag to hold extra toilet paper which was a nice touch. There was a very nice fitness center that I completely ignored. Its relatively close to a WEGMANS grocery which means you can buy amazing prepared food as well. There was a fridge and microwave in the room. The staff helped me obtain quarters to to laundry and get detergent, and also provided free cookies! Great place, highly recommend!
The staff was very friendly, and pleasant to deal with. The room was very clean and modern looking. Unfortunately I was awoken around 5am by a sound I can only describe as sounding like someone was bowling in my room. It was loud enough to shock me out of my sleep. I work in construction and have been on new construction sites for a bunch of hotels, I can say for sure this building was not built properly. There is no way they followed the proper sound mitigating steps. I cant recommend this hotel and would not ever consider staying there again. Frankly I am considering a chargeback on my card.
Totally overpriced for the room! Large room but not worth the money. Hotel was slapped together and not well. Light it bathroom did not turn on untl we played with switch for a while. Paint not complete on ceiling. Bathroom not clean with mold in shower. Outlets in bathroom were barely in tact. Parking lot was so tight that cars were so close and not enough room for all the volume on a weekend without your car being vulnerable.Even the elevator doors and hallway exit doors looked like bad cheap construction for a new hotel.
Arrived at 8pm and was happy to see that the fixings for hot tea were still out in the lobby. Loved the comfortable bed and pillow options but was underwhelmed by the breakfast. The coffee was weak and the pancakes were not fluffy. Weve stayed at other locations that had a waffle station which in my opinion is better. Ended up having hot tea and a banana as my breakfast. But I would definitely stay at this location again as the complimentary breakfast was not my main reason for choosing this hotel. Had the breakfast been good it wouldve been a nice bonus.
My family and I really enjoyed our staff. We had an awesome experience. The hotel is clean, the staff are pleasant and professional. The location was very convenient as well. I would definitely stay here again, my only objection is that the one night staff was very expensive and I havent ever paid approximately per night for a Holiday Inn Express.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Ithaca. I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious my room was, and everything was spotless. The bed and pillows were super comfortable and I had an excellent sleep both nights I was there. Other bonuses included a mini-fridge and microwave in my room, and free parking on-site. The staff were courteous, friendly, and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel!
Did not stay. Went to check in but had card issues. Told them i did not have another card and left. Still got charged even though i reserved only 10 minutes prior to showing up. I have called and left two messages for the general manager to contact me and have not heard back. Hotel looked nice, but very unsatisfied with the lack of service.
I paid what would normally be the price of my room. But there was none of the amenities that this would normally include. The pool and gym were not available. No guest laundry. The breakfast lounge was closed. There was no discount on the price to reflect that all I got was my room. Then i went out to smole at 1145pm and when i came back in the first sliding door opened and closed but the secons would not. I was trapped between the two doors unable to go in or back out. I called the front desk and no one picked up. I had to call my girlfriend to get dressed and come down to let me in.
The service was nice as the rooms were clean, the food was delicious and the staff was very friendly at our stay. The location was in the middle of the city, which makes it good for many people to enjoy the amenities and the entertainment available. The rooms were big and the hotel atmosphere was inviting.
The first thing I noticed was how courteous the staff was. Coming from the city (NYC) it felt refreshing to enjoy some genuine courtesy. The place was very neat and clean. We were also conveniently located close to food shops and local attractions. We had a great time!
I have stayed here several times and the staff is always so friendly and helpful. Even if there is a mistake, they are quick to correct it with a smile. The beds are always so comfortable and the rooms are modern styled and very clean. Ive always enjoyed my stay at this hotel.

2021-09-13We had a great 3 days stay here. The hotel was super clean and staff here were very covid conscious, gave me a great peace of mind staying here. We were on a 10 day road trip and stayed at many different hotels, including hampton inn, fairfield suites, wyndham and this was the most comfortable stay because of the cleanliness and how updated it felt! Here is what I liked about this hotel:- the lights in the rooms were bright, room looked very new- shower glass doors, no icky curtains!- overall cleanliness- even remote control was wrapped in plastic bag- a lot of hooks in the rooms, great for towels, jackets, etc- large bottle of shower gel, shampoo, body wash- breakfast! it was actually quite good~ I liked that it was self serve, and gloves are required- excellent staff!- great for traveling families (we had little ones and they were able to give us some milk when we needed it)- there were dirty and clean signs on the tables, so we know to use a clean table. Cleaning staff was quick to clean/wipe/disinfect the tables during breakfast time.cons:- shower gel and conditioner needed to be refilled and we had to ask multiple times- wished there was a jacuzziOverall it was an excellent stay, great job!

2022-04-26Room 301: Bed is really comfortable, the air conditioner buttons are broken but it still works great. The room is very clean, little odd for the bathroom light switch to be by the entrance door and not in the bathroom. The window curtain is completely black out, I suggest you turn a light on before closing it. Lol learned the hard way. Breakfast has plenty of choices to pick from. The staff is helpful. It is nice to be in the city of ithaca and have peace and quiet as soon as you walk in the door of the hotel. The rooms are big and spacious. We enjoyed ourselves enough to stay another night.

2022-04-26Compared to the quality of other hotels in the area for which you can pay substantially higher nightly fees, this hotel is definitely worth it. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, quiet. Ive stayed here multiple times and will continue to do so whenever I come visit Ithaca.

2022-06-28Most overpriced holiday inn express on earth. Was charged an absurd $360+ for one single night at an express when I thought I booked with points. That’s more expensive than a beach front resort through IHG. I’m a diamond elite member who travels weekly and corporate would do absolutely nothing to help out but transfer me about 6-8 times. Not even an offer of points or a discount. Nothing. What a total slap in the face to a former loyal member of close to 5 years. Making a shift to Hilton permanently. They treat all members with respect and kindness.

2022-03-30This place is the worse Ive ever come across I made a huge mistake trying to help a friend whos boyfriend was beating on her so I rented her a room so she would be safe for the night somewhere after I left and before checkout they decided to burn holes in the rug and steal the coffee maker after I had already left the premises. They charged my bank account an extra 800 dollars on top of the 300 a night that they charged me I dont know what to do I cant afford 1100 a night fora room Im am furious

2022-03-29We arrived and the staff came out when we rang the bell- they neither greeted us nor acknowledged our presence. Finally after a few awkward moments I asked if we could check in and they said they were working on it but both computers had issues. They had 2 elevators, one was out of service and the other had the 2nd floor button TAPED ON and the open door button was completely gone. BUSTED and felt rather unsafe and no sign of a service log posted in the elevator as well.Dirty stains on pillow cases.Rude attendant at front desk (this time a man) who was completely unhelpful regarding getting a new key made and it didnt work. All in I wouldnt stay here again.

2022-05-01Ithaca is beautiful and so was this location. I can’t wait to stay here again. Breakfast was great. I’m only doing this to enter into a contest and have nothing left to say. Words, word, still saying not enough words. There that is enough.

2021-04-133 of the 5 times stayed the rooms were mediocre at best when was supposed to be a suite. Didnt have all the amenities that were listed on website. Cleanliness has always been pretty good. And they dont bug you. Seem to hear a lot of noise from neighbor and housekeeping room. Top floor near end of a hall has been the best room. Other times we were put right where we request not to be. Breakfast is decent. Price, convenience, and breakfast is why I would stay again.

2022-04-20I had a amazing time when I stayed at holiday inn express in Ithaca ny. They have a really big breakfast and its not the cheesy continental breakfast. It was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. All the employees are friendly and helpful especially the gentleman that works in the night time. . I definitely recommend staying at the holiday inn express in Ithaca ny.
