Holiday Inn Express & Suites Montgomery, an IHG Hotel in other cities:
We booked this room as part of a wedding block. They told us they were booked up for the wedding. I asked of they were booked up (outside of the rooms that were blocked off for the wedding) they told me they were completely booked. So I reached out to the bride to give her the heads up and she was upset, she knew she still had available rooms for her block off. We then spoke to someone, after she made some calls and they were suddenly able to get us a room. At check in, the guy at the front desk had no clue about the shuttle service. I can understand not knowing if its not a service the hotel offers but at the last place we stayed, they had some idea of what services would be showing up at their hotel. The juice machine was out of service, we tried to go back to.our room and the elevator stopped working. Just a lot of little stuff...the guy at the front desk also forgot to give us our thank you bag from the bride and groom. Ovee all it was just meh. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfy sooo....I guess thats it.
Very updated place. Soft bed nice king size room. But, I have been here for 5 days and they have not cleaned my room ever. I feel bad for the housekeeping staff having to put up with management that makes their job harder. Breakfast is great. Do not expect much with the pool. I think the lowest point is 4 ft deep. No hot tub or anything else.
The room was clean. The king bed comfortable. No bag in the wastebasket in the room, just the bathroom. Only a bit of lotion left in the small bottle in bathroom. Nice TV.. We were only there for one night after all other motels were full, so we had to take it... But at almost $300...I feel we were taken advantage of... If we knew where we were, we could have booked on line at a rate of $149. Even had to sign a disclaimer... Holiday Inn needs to rethink how they treat customers and not just the almighty dollar.
Very dirty bathroom and carpet is stained and in need of replacementThey did not have enough towels for our wedding guests so we had to share towels!! Bad enough even without COVID!I would not recommend this hotel to anyone..... first negative review I have ever posted on line but feel the need to save anyone from experiencing a similar stay. I an not pointing any fingers at individuals just an overall lack of management, cleanliness and most likely staffing issue.
I was in town for work for a three night stay, and nearly everything was perfect... except for one thing. Before I get to the one thing, let me first commend the staff for their friendliness, warm greetings, and prompt attention to any requests that I had. Ill also give kudos for the breakfast program. The food was always refilled, the food temperatures were safe, the area was sparkling clean. Nights at the hotel were quiet (when traveling for work, this is VERY important), and the landscaping at the property was very well kept and the surrounding scenery was beautiful. Now, back to that one thing... where have all the bathtubs gone? When traveling for work, the one thing that I would really appreciate is the ability to take a nice hot bath to relax before bed. Instead, the rooms here have shower stalls. Granted, the shower stall is very large, modern and very clean with superb fixtures. Considering that this hotel was in a great area, well priced and very close to the location I was working at for those days, it was a compromise that I was willing to accept, but not one that I should have needed to make. I understand that due to costs, I cant expect the managers and owners to start a rip and replace in all bathrooms, but at a minimum should have both types of bathroom styles available and selectable when booking.
After an all night work trip and trouble with another hotel, I arrived at the Holiday Inn. The front desk executive Cody deserves an award for exemplary customer service. He has the type of warm and eager personality that make people want to return. A challenge presented itself during check-in. Manager, Michelle, without hesitation, began trying to resolve it. She also offered breakfast while she worked on the issue.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ She went the extra mile at a time when I needed it most. 🤩 The kindness of these nice people meant more than they know. Breakfast was great. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable.
Pros: clean, friendly staff, good breakfast, easy parking, located near a lot of essentials but located far back enough to not deal with traffic noise, beds and pillows comfortable.Cons: website lists that cribs and cots available which they are not, pool is NOT heated and looks dirty, not enough coffee provided in room only 1 regular and decaf pod, boasts oversized towels but they’re just regular towels which Isn’t a huge deal unless you’re a larger person, loud drunk/high people out front most of the night. None of these are a huge deal but they shouldn’t be listed as a feature If they aren’t true. Also pull out couch bed broken but we ended up not needing it anyway. Also 1 elevator for the entire hotel is a bit obnoxious but not terrible.
1. Fix shower door in room 320-my daughter got locked in the shower-had to Jimmy bathroom lock yo get her out2. Make sure the phones in the room work to call the front desk in case of emergency-had to google hotel from my phone to call the front desk3.Have sufficient towels in room based on occupancy-only had 2 towels for 4 people staying. Staff said they would get it but still wasnt there when I returned at almost midnight to take a shower.4. Have the waffle maker fixed-major thing for a kid to use
While the food was excellent, the coffee station wasn’t maintained well during the day. The creamer didn’t function properly and the coffee wasn’t changed regularly. Also, the pool was closed due to a malfunction, and while the refunded me $20 a day, I wish my family was given a heads up, my kids were disappointed. Lastly, fresh shampoo was not put in our room and towels weren’t replaced daily nor were there enough for a family of 4. When we requested them, they were replaced right away, the service desk did a great job.
Overall our stay was fine but there were signs posted everywhere asking guests to wear their masks in common spaces. Most guests I saw did comply with this -- but absolutely nobody at the front desk or the staff member handling the breakfast buffet did. The only staff I saw wearing masks were members of the housekeeping team. If youre going to have signs up stating that masks should be worn, that should apply to staff as well.
My room was not thoroughly cleaned before I arrived. Although the beds were freshly made it didn’t appear that the carpets had been vacuumed. There was an open lotion bottle from a previous guest in the bathroom and the toilet had not been completely cleaned. On the third night of my stay I finally took my own garbage and dirty towels to the front desk in order to get empty garbage bags and fresh towels. This was after speaking directly to one of the housekeeping staff working across the hall from my room and letting him know my room was vacant and ready to be cleaned. Additionally, I had reserved a room with 2 king beds and was given 2 full beds (not even queen). The only good thing about the stay was that the breakfast area was well stocked and staffed.
This place is interesting to say the least! Smorgasbord of smells, each location of the hotel has it’s own uniqueness lol. When you enter the front it’s empty beer cans and the smell of marijuana, the elevator smelled of body odor and dirty mop water, the bathroom of mildew and dampness. Most areas were just a funky unidentifiable scent. It was my fault, I booked a Legoland deal last minute and had limited options for hotels. Had a 3 night stay, left after 2. I could not wait to get my kids out of there. Always left by the stairwell and avoided the front as much as possible. Quite surprised, I’m not sure how this place has such high ratings!
I loved the location of this hotel. Very convenient for our visit between Maybrook and Newburgh. Our room was clean and quiet. I thought the breakfast options were varied but the food quality could be improved. I liked the fresh fruit but the bakery quality was less than desired, you did have eggs and yogurt and cereal as a tasty choice.
My respects go out to all the team here please dont change a thing I loved the selection of breakfast. The front was very helpful in helping me set up IHG rewards even on the other end when they had difficulty. She was very patient with the lady on the phone as well as I great job on her end. My stay was great and of course I would recommend it to my friends and co-workers. Thank You Team.
Not a bad place to stay for a night or two. The hotel was clean and the staff was very nice and accommodating. The breakfast wasnt too good but its a hotel so my hopes werent high. You can always go to the McDonalds or Dunkin Donuts near by if your looking for a quick decent breakfast.
This hotel is very conveniently located and the front desk staff were very friendly. Each shower has built-in shampoo/conditioner/body wash, which was lovely. Unfortunately, the bathroom had mold in the shower, the hand lotion on the sink had been used and was half empty, and the bed was hard as a rock. I was there for a family funeral and just didnt feel like making a stink.
Fine stay. None of the staff were masked yet had signs up that everyone must wear a mask. At breakfast, the person that maintains the food kept getting too close for comfort without a mask on. I probably wouldnt stay here again, bathroom needs a little maintenance, and my bathroom smelled like cigarettes.
What a Stressful and horrible experience! I booked a block of rooms for my wedding guests about 6 MONTHS ahead of time, a brunch room and a shuttle to the venue. about a month before the wedding my guests who had booked rooms months before, called me panicking that they called the hotel to confirm their room and they had been told they didnt have reservations, or that it was incorrect in some way. I called the hotel to find out what the issue was and BOTH women I spoke to were incredibly rude and not helpful. The room issues were fixed, so I asked about the brunch room and shuttle I had booked months before and not only did they have the wrong date and time for the brunch they had given the shuttle to another wedding! I have a contract and email proof of the agreement we had and they obviously couldnt be bothered to take note in their calendar. We had to work things out, which was an unnecessary stress added to my list a month before the wedding. The Brunch room was TINY I was told it would hold 40 people but when we arrived it barely held 20. I wish I had known, we would have gone to a restaurant for brunch instead.THEN to top it all off. I provided a guest goodie bag for EACH of my guests, I not only told them on the phone that it was one per GUEST NOT PER ROOM i also told them when I dropped them off. Then I find out people are checking in and only getting one per room. One of my bridesmaids called TWICE to remind them one per GUEST and they still continued to mess it up! The completely RUINED a HUGE part of my wedding since myself and most of my guest were coming in from out of town.I thought I was dealing with a Manager Cody, but honestly I hope he isnt a manager as he completely dropped the ball on my wedding and added an IMENSE amount of stress that I did not need. I have also told my wedding venue to take them off their recommendation list because of this added stress. I wouldnt wish that on a bride! Wish I couldve given Negative 5 stars for this place!**** EDIT****After writing this review I receive a phone call from the hotel general Manager who says SHES upset with my review...does not apologize for the frustrations i faced or admit fault whatsoever. When i told her i was upset and did not want to discuss anything further as my review was 100% accurate she threatened to repost an email to the review that had absolutely nothing to do with the issues i faced. I began to scream which is very unlike me which just proves to me how out of line, unprofessional and truly ridiculous the entire hotel is if this is their general manager. needless to say i am now on the phone with headquarters and am absolutely livid with how i have been treated. I have worked in customer service a very long time and would never have treated an unhappy customer this way.
This hotel is at a quiet location. Overall stay was good, except that breakfast was only provided in a pre-ordered bag. Given the measures taken in the pandemic time period, some simple hot breakfast could still be considered, which could help guests to feel more at-home away from home, and still manageable
Room Cleanliness - For 2 weeks in a row, the housekeeping staff as been able to do the revised cleaning revisions that the Hotel has put in place for extended stays. The Hotel fails the customers by not having a supervisory or staff member in place that does random checks on cleaned rooms to help insure that the customer base is receiving the best quality service. You see it is not just an employee failure but a managerial logistics failure
This is the dirtiest most disgusting place I have ever stayed. I took pictures of the nasty place and have contacted the CEO of this hotel 8 times and he has ignored me. I paid 568.00 to stay here for 3 days and couldnt leave once I was here without still being charged for the whole stay Everything was filthy from the carpets to the mold growing in bathroom and pool shower area. Our door even had some nasty brown who knows what all over it. The whole place is nasty . I will be reviewing this on 8 hotel sites so others do not end up in the bad position I was put in with my daughter and grandson
To start with....we were not told at check-in that room cleaning procedures would be different because of Covid-19.(as I was told by someone at the front desk after I told them we werent getting any services) Our room was never vacuumed, dusted or sheets changed....even though we left the card saying we wanted them changed on the unmade bed during our week long stay. The bathroom was never cleaned. One out of the 7 days someone came in and left fresh towels. The rest of the time we had to ask for them at the front desk.,as well as, toilet paper. We also had to leave our trash outside our door if it was full and hope that when we came back...it would be empty. I guess it shouldve been a clue to us when we arrived to our room the first day. There were piles of dirty towels and sheets on the floor outside guest rooms. We also saw garbage on the floor by guest rooms in bags or boxes. Both the towels and garbage were left for a day or two. Breakfast was also a mess. Every morning we had to ask for a plate and/or utensils/napkins or some item that we had ordered the night before for breakfast. Very disorganized. At one point I asked to speak to the manager and I was told she was there from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. The next morning I went to the front desk at 8:40 and asked to speak to the manager again. I was told she wasnt there yet and was on her way and as soon as she got there, she would call our room. We left the room at 9:15 without receiving a call. Later that day when we got back I told someone at the front desk that I never received a call from the manager....and was told she called our room at 10:00. Obviously she got there even later than her scheduled 7 a.m.starting time. We were never contacted again by the manager. To our surprise when we got to our room that afternoon....it was clean and the sheets had been changed. Too bad we were leaving the next morning. We did not feel that we were staying in a clean place. Overall...Very poorly run hotel...Covid-19 or not. The whole place looks like it needs a refresh.... the management....The cleaning staff...?
Rooms (other family in different rooms as well) were not very clean at all. There was hair on bathroom floor and in the tub. The room carpet was not vacuumed very well at all. The coffee machine still had an old “pod” left in side and old coffee stains in the tray where you would place the cup. Did not leave a good feeling about “deep Covid cleansing” . The bed was very comfortable and the front desk staff very courteous and friendly.
Returning to this hotel was a disappointment after Covid. Staff not wearing masks, but signs up requiring them. We stayed in a queen suite hoping for a room at the top of their standards. The carpet is soiled and stained. Ice maker is broken. Night manager said it will be fixed tomorrow. That was yesterday. Still broken. I cant be the only one complaining about ice. Is no one empowered or thoughtful enough to get a cooler and a couple bags of ice for the patrons?
Booked 2 rooms for our wedding. One room for one night with a late checkout and one room for 2 nights. We were told everything was fine and would follow the contract in place before postponing due to COVID. We were charged more money than stated. We were told the morning of our wedding that there was no room booked for the second night and after that was fixed our keys didnt work when we got back to the hotel afterward. The staff seemed confused and disorganized. I will say the place was clean and we always saw someone disinfecting evey surface. Very disappointed with how this turned put and made our wedding weekend way more stressful than needed. Dont think I would stay here again.
On my last week they put me in the first floor. The bathroom was disgustingly dirty. I actually had to go to the supermarket next door and get Clorox cleanup and spray over the mildew growing in the corners of the bathroom. The carpet in most rooms have black stains and need to be shampooed. The staff is great and I want to especially thank Britney that works in the front desk. She went above and beyond to remedy my problem after having to clean the bathroom myself.
I checked in as a walk in as I was traveling through the area moving my son. I had a haul trailer connected to my truck and was looking for a safe location to leave my vehicle over night. The hotel was very clean, required masks and had multiple sanitation stations set up. You can’t go wrong sating here and the hotel staff were very accommodating.
Carpet in our room was very dirty, large stains and raveled....made me feel as though the room was not properly sanitized and cleaned. Now that Marijuana is legal in NY there needs to be regulations in hotel, our entire hallway reeked of pot.....should not be able to use in hotel same as cigarettes. People in the next room were extremely loud into the night which made it difficult to sleep, walls seemed paper thin. Hotel management came up to one of the rooms on our floor to get them to quiet down but it didnt work. We had stayed in this hotel in September and it was great so we returned again but we were highly disappointed with our stay this time and will look for another hotel when we are back this August.
I have stayed at this property before and enjoyed every one until this last visit. I am taking into consideration the current situation with the pandemic but the things that happened almost make that worse. While checking in there were 3 employees at the front desk, one of which looked like the manager. I was handed paperwork to sign, given my key cards and that was it. I had to ask if my rewards number was linked to the stay and what to do about breakfast. I originally was put in a room on the 3rd floor which I usually request. When I got to the room the door was propped open and the bed looked like it had been slept in. I went back down stairs to notify them. I was given another room on the 1st floor. Upon entering this room I noticed a large stain on one of the queen beds. I then noticed a used, dirty face cloth that was forgotten on the shower curtain rod as well as a dirty tub with what looked like dirt left from dumping a mop bucket. When I notified the front desk all I was told was sorry about that......
This hotel was fairly new and in a great location to our destination to Woodbury Commons Outlets. We also visited the Purple Heart museum nearby. There is a Dunkin Donuts right in front of the hotel making it very convenient. The bed was very soft, just the way we like it!
I had a difficult time getting my room cleaned.I told the clerk at front desk that our room smelled bad and our sheets stunk and there was a dirty sock under a chair. However nothing was addressed. The first night when the room wasn’t cleaned I said something to the staff and he made a note of it. The next day when I left I talked directly to the housekeeper and let her know we were leaving for the day and could clean at any time and that there was a dirty sock under one of the room chairs and it was not one of ours. However again, the room wasn’t cleaned! I had to go to the front desk 2 days in a row to ask for towels. I just don’t understand why the room wasn’t cleaned.
Check out time is 11 AM but that didnt stop the cleaning staff from ignoring the Do Not Disturb tag & start banging on our door at 10 AM asking if they could get us anything. I guess our answer ( we had to YELL NO! to get them to stop) wasnt good enough because they came back at 10:40 to bang on our door & ask if we needed anything AGAIN.
The desk clerks were helpful when not distracted but their phones. Why would t I mention the cost , The price per room 350 was the biggest insult. Are they determined by customer? Is there a chart you keep or rate schedule that changes. Really, it would help me understand.A holiday inn in Montgomery?.. we weren’t in the Adirondacks or beach shoreline.
I was hesitant to book this hotel since our last Holiday Inn Express experience in another state was definitely sub-par. But after reading reviews I went ahead and booked it to give it another chance. We were both happy with our stay here and it has boosted our confidence in staying at this chain again in the future. We came here from another hotel in Manhattan that was much more expensive and had little to offer but location, and we had many complaints. But we had much more good to say than negative about this Holiday Inn Express! The staff was friendly, the room was CLEAN, and the breakfast was a very good variety. The only complaints we had were small and didnt ruin the stay: upon arrival then clean towels left for our stay were placed on/in the open toilet seat = gross placement. Needless to say those got thrown on the floor and never used. And one night we were awaken by the telephone ringing, it was the front desk saying they had a noise complaint. I said I dont see how since we have been sleeping, it was a long time before I could go back to sleep. But thats really it to complain about. There could be more lights around the parking lot, but the front spots were well lit, so we tried to keep using those. I did also like that the hot water
This was a mistake from the moment we opened the door to our first room, expecting a King bed and finding 2 Queens. The lack of care and poor supervision of housekeeping was obvious. Hole or chip in tub, fist size hole in bathroom door, multiple stains on carpet with scattered debris and a dead stink bug to boot. There was ketchup on the wall with more on the ottoman below it. The AC unit only worked on high. Our second room was cleaner, but the carpet was severely stained in several places making the room seem dirty.
There were 4 of us so we arranged to have 2 rooms. The other 2 family members with us had an issue with their room during the stay that when using outlets to blow dry their hair, the entire room tripped the electric. However, the staff were fantastic and even upgraded their room for the inconvenience. The rooms were huge. We stayed on the 1st Floor. 14 foot ceilings, tons of space, CLEAN, bathrooms were clean and spacious, loved the walk in shower with great water pressure (that doesnt always happen)! TV channel selection was great. It was quiet, comfortable. Breakfast was good, but had the same food everyday, so would be nice to change it occasionally, but it was decent and tasty. Beds and linens all good, but by day 2 the mattress was a little uncomfortable. The staff were very good to us. Housekeeping did a great job!The overall stay was fantastic!
I stayed at this location while attending a wedding and was impressed from the beginning when the staff was efficient while not rushing customers through the registration process. I noted that I am a light sleeper while checking in and my room was changed to a very quiet area of the hotel. The room was clean (and quiet!) and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The indoor pool area was nice and I liked that there were tables and chairs there. The breakfast buffet was continually refilled with a good assortment of food, and I did not leave hungry. Staff were friendly and helpful, parking was easy, and the internet connection was good. I did not choose this hotel, but am glad that the bride and groom did!
The room was cleanish and beds were comfortable. There were only 2 towels for 4 people the bathroom fixtures need to be replaced, the bathroom light/fan was loose and hanging from the ceiling. To be fair its in Newburgh so I didnt expect anything to be in good condition or clean.
Mediocre and not worth the price. You can stay elsewhere for a few bucks more and get a better experience. Comfortable room and bed. Toilet was broken (flusher not even connected). Was fixed on day 3 of our stay. Shower was dirty and was not cleaned during our entire stay (and no spraying the floor of the shoiwer is not cleaning it). The pool had ample hair in it. The pool towels did not fit around a skinny adult. Yes it fit around my toddler. There was a birthday party with 15 guests using the pool and common area when we arrived and for the following 6 hours so we didn’t use those areas. Our room only got cleaned after asking multiple times for it to be cleaned. One of the days I asked 3 times for it to be cleaned - finally it was cleaned by maintenance. Our bedding was never changed even though it was requested to be.Floor was not vacuumed until I specifically requested it to be (despite crumbs on it - thanks to my 3 year old). Breakfast was a good variety. Depending on who was working breakfast would depend on if the food was hot and filled.
The hotel was clean and visually appealing. The only issue was the first room they gave us smelled like cigarette smoke. The front desk quickly solved the problem by moving us to another room. The breakfast was varied, but could be updated by adding more healthy choices. The rooms were comfortable.
The location is conveniently located to the interstate, However I would not come back. The smell in the hallway was disgusting and the beds were rock hard. Not very comfortable to sleep. I woke up about 5 times at night and the next morning I had to take motrin due to neck, back pain from the bed. I would not recommend
From the moment we arrived at your hotel in Montgomery, NY, every associate we encountered was super polite and engaged with every guest. When we walked in to the hotel, the front desk employee was mopping the floors and cleaning the doors, a nice welcome in these scary times. The room, swimming pool and all the common areas were hospital clean. Due to the virus, the breakfast buffet was cancelled but the hotel had our breakfast ready to go in the morning and right on time. If I had to come back to this area, I would definitely stay at this hotel, and as a bonus, what a great value this hotel is!
We have been very pleased with every Holiday Inn Express we have stayed in, and this one was no exception. The rooms are clean without smelling of toxic cleaning chemicals. The heating and air conditioning units have always worked well. The showers always work and and have always been warm enough and clean. The lighting in the bathroom has always been excellent. The staff is always friendly and helpful and wants us to be comfortable. We will keep staying at Holday Inn Express for all our travel experiences! This particular hotel was the quietest hotel we have ever stayed in. Very conducive to a good night’s sleep!
I recently came up to Montgomery for a family function. I choose to stay at Holiday inn Express since it was close to my family and a newer hotel. I was very happy with my entire stay and experience at this property. All the staff were friendly and attentive. The hotel is very clean and modern. My room was clean and comfortable. The free breakfast was hot, tasty and had a nice variety. I would definitely recommend this Gorey if you’re staying in this area. My family lives close by and I will definitely stay here on my next visit.
We booked 2 suite rooms for 3 kids and 5 adults. We loved the extra room with the sofas, tables and chairs and the tiny kitchenettes. One bathroom had a step in shower and would have been great for the over 65ers if only the door would have closed tightly and the shower head would have sprayed instead of a solid stream from the center. Maureen at the desk was exceptionally pleasant.
We had a great time at out vacation after quarantine. Id like to highlight the following item that made our stay great:- Shout out to Maureen who provided awesome customer service such as recommendations on what to do in the area and assistance printing out some documents.- The hotel has a good COVID policy (in terms of capacity restrictions for pool, etc., distancing, breakfast, available sanitizer) and we felt safe during our stay.- The hotel was clean and well maintained.
Im a spire elite member who paid for a king Suite, and I have the email to prove it. Then I get bumped down to a really run down double Queen hearing accessible room. They will see if they can upgrade me Sunday, but I have changed hotels too the Homewood suites... I have never had a hotel bump me down before, and its more this isnt what I paid for either. Plus the room was unsanitary, and very disappointing!!! Probably wouldnt stay here again
The room was nice but the bathroom wasnt very clean. The employees were extremely nice. The breakfast time was a disappointment as it is to late if you are traveling. However the food was satisfactory. Parking was very good. The TV and channel options were very good. Due to the breakfast times and bathroom cleanliness I think we much more prefer Hampton Inn.
This was a very nice hotel. The room was clean and I loved the shower. The bed was very comfortable.Maureen at the front desk was very friendly and helpful as well. I love the location, it’s in walking distance to Dunkin’ Donuts, CVS, McDonald’s, an awesome bagel shop and a really good Italian restaurant! What more could you ask for? These two truckers will definitely be back.
This was a family overnight stay. The price was reasonable. The premises are beautiful. The staff was courteous. The room was bigger than expected. The bathroom was big BUT the glass door hasnt seen a sponge with soap in a LONG TIME. It was dirty instead of clear like glass should be. I found clothes in one of the drawers so i know who ever did that room didnt clean it well.(I was a room attendant I know how to clean a checked out room). Pleanty of brakfast option. The indoor pool water was cold.
My husband and I just wanted a relaxing night away from home for our 4 year anniversary. I specifically wanted somewhere that had a pool, but was affordable, because I hadnt gone swimming since I was a child. My husband found this hotel, and we did our research, and booked the room a week in advance. Our stay far exceeded our expectations! What I thought was just going to be a typical hotel stay, with the added bonus of swimming, turned out to be an excellent experience! The staff were so incredibly friendly and helpful, and they truly made the hotel feel warm, homey, and welcoming. We werent expecting much for the complimentary breakfast (as you dont really see much variety in others), but we were pleasantly surprised at the wonderful buffet that was offered! The food was absolutely delicious! We spent most of our time in the pool, and it was wonderful. When we were in our room, we were completely comfortable and easily able to relax. I appreciated the spacious walk-in shower, as I have mobility issues, and it was easily accessible and comfortable for me to use. The entire experience was wonderful, and we will be back for our next anniversary! Were even hoping to stay 2 nights next time.
I needed and one-night stay with good access to the interstate. This was perfect....not at all crowded, small town with several nearby restaurants. The only issue is that I found a piece of soap from the previous guest in the shower. Other peoples soap freaks me out anyway but during these Covid times, it seems even grosser. I told the front desk person and she was adequately sympathetic but did not offer anything (discount, etc)., but I didnt ask either. Otherwise, it was comfortable and the staff was friendly. I would probably stay here again if the need arose.
We were in the area ( I am originally from nearby) for a New Years Eve Party at a local catering facility. The hotel was recommended by a friend who works at the catering hall. It was excellent! Easy to get to, local eateries close by as well as an EXCELLENT hot breakfast buffet! The staff was friendly and helpful and the hotel was just as Id expect, clean and warm. Christmas decorations were tasteful and well done. Pool looked beautiful and I wished I had remembered to pack our suits! Next time! We are planning on attending the party next year and will stay here again!
This was one of the best hotel experiences weve had. We had no complaints at all for staying here for a whole 5 days. The ONLY thing that happened was that we did not get new towels one night. Other than that, the hotel staff was friendly, breakfast was good, the room was cleaned properly, the building it self was clean, and the room was quiet.
The room overall has good; we liked the convenience of the refrigerator and microwave (for popcorn!). The breakfast was great and convenient. Our one issue was the toilet in the bathroom - no lid! And the towel rack was mounted right above the toilet! UGH! We have never been in a hotel where a toilet did not have a lid or any evidence that there should be a lid.
Our 3-night stay at this location was a superb value. The indoor pool is a plus that we took advantage of for modest exercise, but our busy schedule prevented our using the workout room. The single elevator was slower than one would like. The breakfast food was plentiful and varied sufficiently for most tastes and dietary needs. The breakfast area was equipped with a large flat screen TV tuned to news and newspapers were also readily available. Luggage carts were plentiful too. Motel location was easy to find with good access to outlet roads. Road noise was so low as not to be noticeable. Cleanliness, modest appointments, and good staff are also part of the business model here. I would recommend you stay here and we certainly will do so in the future.
We stayed here the first half of our New York trip. We really enjoyed it. The rooms were clean and a good size! The staff was helpful and friendly. The pool is nice and indoors which was great since it was chilly a couple of nights we were there. It is pretty humid in the pool room but did not smell of strong chlorine at all and overall enjoyable. We spent the evenings in there and it worked great! There are a couple tables and several chairs in there. We are not usually indoor pool fans if that tells you anything. If you have pool shoes bring them because the tile around the pool was slick! There is a nice grocery store close and a microwave and fridge in the room which was really helpful since we had kids! The breakfast was good. Eggs, cereals, yogurts, fruit, bagels, breads etc. We were all happy with it. My inlaws said the cinnamon rolls were great! The breakfast area is a good size and has a couple couches, several tables and a good size TV which is a nice hangout area at anytime for groups to congregate. Overall will definitely stay here again of we come back!
Although certain logistics had us choose this location (large family group and distance to surrounding destinations) we were very pleased with the whole experience. All staff encounters were professional, the rooms were spacious, the conveniences were helpful. There was even a good selection of retailers all right next door. (gas, food and groceries). I was sleeping on the sofa bed (never a quality sleep) but even that was not too bad. (the beds looked comfy! :). We will definitely stay again, on the next tours we take.
The staff were excellent, the room was clean in appearance, the furnishings were comfortable, the TV and channel selection was acceptable. The room price was good value. There were nearby fast food restaurants. The room was not exposed to local trucking traffic noise on adjacent roadways or in the parking lot. There is ample parking on each building side. The room heating was from a through-window unit with a wall control, which worked acceptably. The building was comfortable and felt safe. There was only a minor amount of noise received from adjacent guest rooms, I think sound was transmitted through the unsealed door bottom of the tandem door or the corridor door.Due to the crisis the complementary breakfast had to be pre-ordered and picked up as bag takeout, which was not too much of a problem. However, some food items were delivered in ziplock bags, rather than factory heat sealed packaging, and utensils were unbagged, which made me uncomfortable. Juice and coffee cups and lids were in open stacks in the breakfast room, these could have been wrapped like those in the guest rooms. There were shampoo body wash conditioner dispensers in the shower, but no soap dispenser at the sink. There was no sanitizer dispenser or towelettes in the room. There was no evidence of extra cleaning procedures in place during the crisis in the rooms or in public areas unless I missed seeing the note. I brought my own sanitizer to clean the counters, TV remote, door knobs, etc. I saw the room cleaning staff wearing gloves but not masks. The desk staff were not given personal protection. Neighboring guests left take-out food containers in the hallway, this should not be allowed due to possible disease transmission or attraction of vectors, or else waste containers with lids should be installed in the hallways. I believe the exercise room was closed, but that was OK, I would not have used it.
It was in general a ok room. For the most part it was clean-ish except for the old toenail clippings between the beds. I understand stains on the walls or ceilings, even the carpet as things age and even with cleaning sometimes look dingy but I really cant forgive the toe nail clippings, they really grossed me out!
Everyone you may have to interact with in terms of staff are friendly and extremely efficient. Breakfast room is very well maintained by wonderful staff that help any that need assistance. They deserve to be tipped and many seem to forget that. The only thing we missed was having a hot tub in the pool area to relax in after a long day. Perhaps this would be a good addition to the property. Overall our stay was fantastic.
I work in construction so I travel a lot, but I have to say that I had an amazing experience with this hotel. The gentleman working tonight, 6/9 was the same man who helped my coworker and I on our first night. This man was exceptional in helping us both throughout our stay that I cant give him enough praise. Besides assisting us, he was very knowledgeable about the area which helped us with navigating and finding the best places that were open during our current era of covid. Wonderful experience and Im sorry that this site wrapped up so early.
Our overall experience was very good, staff were helpful, the accommodation was spacious, clean and comfortable. I liked that the room had a small kitchenette with microwave, coffee maker, fridge and sink. There is ample free parking for guests. The hotel is conveniently located close to a small shopping complex, including restaurants, it also has a couple of fast food outlets within walking distance. I would definitely recommend this hotel as a convenient place to stay..
We enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel was clean, comfortable and efficient. Breakfast included a nice variety that made everyone in our party happy. The coffee didnt suit my taste, but it was readily available in the lobby and room. We would be happy to stay here again.
The staff was great, room was clean. quiet and kept up nice. the breakfast was terrible, def should give back some points for that as no where on the site did it let us know there would be no breakfast. We stay there because the breakfast is usually wonderful, shame it was not there. thank you for the rest.
We were there in April for 4 nights. The rooms are huge with larger than normal refrigerators and a microwave. The beds were so comfortable and there are these large pillows that I simply love! The breakfast was even more impressive. A full breakfast is served each day. I loved the coffee which is so unusual for me because I am a Dunkin person. Considering there is one right across the street, I was satisfied with the hotels coffee. It is a great hotel and I would certainly recommend!
Wonderful staff, every time I enter or leave the hotel the front desk staff greets me by name, that give me that important person feeling. The staff had no problem receiving my delayed luggage and even offered to take it to my room when it arrived. Cleanliness of the room, facility and grounds was unmatched to any hotel I have stayed at. Never had any problems with the room and even seen staff daily picking up the grounds and parking lot even the cigarette butts. I appreciated the security cameras and card access doors. I like the feeling of being safe. Great location, easy access to the highway and I have even taken pictures of deer and wild turkey across the street from the hotel.
Everything was great! The staff was friendly at the front desk and in the dining area. The breakfast was more than satisfactory. We were impressed! The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. We felt safe and very much at home. Even the price was reasonable. I would recommend the Holiday Inn Express in a heartbeat!
This hotel is very clean and the rooms are nice and bright. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. We appreciate the cleaning staff as well. The only concern was the coffee maker in our room was temperamental and worked sometimes. Bit the have free coffee downs stairs available, so it did not effect or stay to much. Highly recommend this hotel.
This place is very nice but due to storm the power went out. They don’t have a backup generator and power was out for over 8 hours. No A/C and husband couldn’t use his CPAP machine while trying to sleep. It got a little warm while sleeping. Thank goodness power was restored at 4:20 am. Otherwise a very clean and nice place with friendly staff.
Stayed in a room close to the elevator and all night we could hear the beep of the doors opening and closing. Elevator was full of water when we arrived from kids swimming at the pool. For being fairly new the walls and baseboards were fairly scuffed up. Beds were comfortable though.
In a great area, staff is very helpful and friendly. The breakfast lady is like family. She keeps the food well supplied, fresh hot and tastes great. Breakfast has great variety, something for everyone. I will come back just because of this and the lady her takes care that our breakfast is something special. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone. We stay at holiday in expressed on the way home just because of employees like this one in Montgomery ny. Although her breakfast experience is the best. Rooms very clean, bed is very comfortable .
First let me say its in a convenient area and the people that worked in the cleaning department and breakfast area were great. That being said the front desk staff were not very friendly or helpful in my opinion. The room are nice and clean but the bathrooms need better taken care of. There was some black stuff on the wall and shower curtain before we used them. Also the shower head needs replaced very bad, grime from hard water that gunked up and didnt spray correctly. Also the so called workout room had hardly anything in it. So overall decent but it does not deserve the highest review or the price they charge.
Room exceeded our expectations in size and comfortBreakfast had nice variety and staff was diligent about keepingEverything warm and plentiful . Oatmeal was perfectHusband had misplaced his tie. Front desk had it for usThe hotel was located in very nice area. Easy access off the freeway.Parking was free and just few steps to hotel.
We stayed for a full week and we really enjoyed it. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. My boys especially liked the breakfast each morning. The staff was friendly and helpful, which has not been our experience always at other hotels . The beds and pillows were actually super comfy! We will definitely stay here again when visiting and touring the area.
We only stayed for 1 night, but everything was good. The only complaint I have about the room is I wish there was a DVD player. But overall, a very decent hotel. The staff at the desk were nice & friendly although my husband did not like that he had to go down to the desk to get an extra blanket rather than them bringing it up to our room. The complimentary breakfast in the morning was decent. Nothing spectacular, but a good amount of options. We made the best out of it.
My wife and I were attending a nearby religious convention. I was happy with so many things. Check in was smooth and quick. Parking was convenient. Elevator was quick. Coffee was delicious (I did not make the in-room, coffee, though the mini Keurig is a nice touch). Shower was hot. A/C was cool. Gym and pool are nice add-ins, though I did not use them this trip. I would definitely stay here again.
Suite room is larger than typical holiday inn room without a big price premium. Bed is comfortable overall but saw a few stained spots on the bedding. Ok breakfast, slightly less variety vs. some other holiday inn chain hotels Ive stayed at. Price is reasonable. Overall good value for the money.
I stayed 1 night as a part of a wedding block and couldnt have been happier. The room was impeccable and gorgeous! The common areas were very clean. Parking was a breeze. Our group also took advantage of the free breakfast before leaving and were delighted with the selection, freshness, and quantity available of bagels, sausage and gravy, fruit, and more!
I stayed with my family. The room was spacious and quiet. Hot coffee and delicious cookies were available 24 hours. Free internet and various tv stations!Breakfast was good (We liked sausage, bacon and scrambled egg). Staff members were professional and friendly.I wish the indoor pool water was warmer. It was too cold to swim.
Staff was excellent. Rooms were average. Cleaning staff was not great - they did the bare minimum. I had to be very specific about what we wanted done. Breakfast was hot and good selection. Although the breakfast staff was attentive, sometimes they grabbed my drinks or plates before I was done with them. Also, there were several tour buses that came through and they were not always very nice guests. We slept fine and didnt hear the next door guests at all.
I always enjoy my stay here. I come to relax and get away from the madness of my living situation. I really appreciate the kindness of Maureen at the front desk. The Manager as well working very hard during Covid-19 cleaning the rooms; as the hard work doesn’t go unnoticed. I can’t wait to come back to the suite! It is really comforting. I miss the breakfast but with social distancing you can still order it thank you!
My stay was good. The bed was comfortable but the cleanliness needs improvement. Staff does not make up the bed properly, they just tuck the sheets but leave your pillows all over the place and I was disappointed by that. The bathroom cleanliness also needs improvement for e.g there was hair on the tub. I wish checkout was done from my room like they said when I inquired but unfortunately I had to go to the front desk to retrieve my invoice.
Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location was ideal for our purposes (touring WT facilities at Warwick, Patterson and Wallkill). The hotel was very clean and very quiet, and I was really impressed with the complimentary breakfast - lots of choices and everything tasted so good. Our room was very comfortable, and I appreciated the little extras like microwave and fridge. I will definitely stay here again.
Friendly staff, smooth check-in. Room was nice and clean, comfortable beds. We had a good night sleep, no noise or anything. We were able to checkout late at no extra cost which was great. Walking distance to Dunkin Donuts, huge plus considering you have to drive everywhere. Also minutes to a supermarket and some fast food restaurants, very convenient. Great pool hours! 5am-11pm. Will definitely stay there again.
Everything was nice about our stay. I did feel the bathroom was a bit dated for a Holiday Inn. The glass shower door opened out behind the main bathroom door, rather than sliding, and there was quite a bit of water stains on the shower doors that looked like it was simply lime stains. No convenient towel racks or a place to put my foot while shaving in the shower. The bathroom was clean, just dated.
This was the last night of our week-long vacation. Hotel was very clean and comfortable. We were somewhat disappointed at check-in as compared to the previous Holiday Inns weve stayed at. Evidently this was a busy time at the hotel so understandably the front desk was multi-tasking. But it was a little shocking and unprofessional, after speaking to someone on the telephone, the female checking us in, verbally disparaged the person who she had been talking to on the phone in our presence. This same person greeted us in a quick business-like manner rather than a typical friendly Holiday Inn manner without an acknowledgement for being a platinum member as was customary at all previous hotels. Aside from the above experience, the hotel and room was very clean and the breakfast offering was excellent. Its a shame that the initial experience shaded the remainder of our stay.
Upon our arrival your staff welcomed us with a warm friendly smile. That was appreciated by us very much. The maids greeted us in the hallways with friendly smiles and corgial talk. Very outstanding and unexpected. So we appreciated very much our stay with you with the one exception of no generator backup when it stormed. We had an oxygen dependentPerson in our group which caused them difficulties. If that had not occurred you would have had an excellent rating in everything. So thank you for a pleasant visit.
We had a great experience at the Montgomery Holiday Inn Express. Breakfast was good and convienent. Pool was fun. Fitness center was adequate. Cleaning service was thorough. I would say if you want your room vacuumed daily let them know. Lobby had nice selection of drinks and snacks. Location was great.
I wasnt expecting much from my stay with the Holiday Inn Express. However they exceeded my expectations. We arrived 2 hrs early and they allowed us to check in with no problems whatsoever. The rooms were good with no problems at all. The breakfast was excellent, clean, self serving area. The omelettes were great especially the egg whites with vegetables, plus the ability to make beautiful delicious pancakes in less that 2 min, without the mess of using batter. Wonderful hotel experience for the price we paid for our stay.
We were very pleased with our room. The staff was very pleasant, The pillows were awesome, the bed was perfect. We were very please with the breakfast. the eggs were real eggs, the bacon was cooked perfectly, very nice sweet buns and the orange juice was the best Ive had at this type of hotel. There was a good selection of fresh fruit and you could make fresh pancakes. The coffee was good too!
The Inn was bright, beautiful and clean. The staff were professional, friendly, and ready to accommodate. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. With the timing of the wedding, we didnt have an opportunity to try out the gym or the pool. The breakfast was fresh, hot and had several gluten free options. We enjoyed our stay very much, and would highly recommend the Montgomery Holiday Inn Express. We also appreciated that it was located near several places to shop like, a gas station, Dunkin Donuts, and Walgreens.
Stayed for 1 night at this holiday inn express - want to list some pros and cons:Pros:1. Staff at the front desk were accommodating they easily found our reservation and had our keys ready as well gave us late check out the following day! They were polite and courteous and they helped us with one of our cons listed below2. Breakfast was good and they served much better bacon than most other complimentary breakfasts at other hotels and that for me is great!!!!!!3. Bed slept nice and the bedroom was clean for the most part nice bathroom and shower as well to freshen upCons:1. The hallways getting to your room are dirty in fact there are crumbs and food particles and things everywhere going down the hall to your room2. When we arrived there was a decent/faint smell of skunk/weed in the lobby the front desk staff agreed they smelt the same thing and it seemed like later the evening it dissipated so they must have found the culprit which was nice3. This is up for debate however - when we arrived there was a “pool party” where locals rented the pool facility to use for themselves in a large group of kids and adults - while again it’s debatable I feel the pool house area should be reserved for those paying 140$ a night to stay here instead it was littered with way too much rowdiness - again some may argue the hotel can choose to rent what they want but those aren’t really amenities then for those who are staying in the hotel that evening.4. Room as stated before is primarily clean but there are still a few things to address - the non sleeping furniture such as the couch and sitting chairs are pretty riddled with various colored stains - it’s not huge but again 140$ a night might want to address those thingsAll In all its not a 5 star hotel it is classified as a three star hotel but some of these things can still be addressed
Was excited to try this Holiday Inn Express. Rooms were nicely designed but found out quickly that the room was dirty. Two examples: Substance was caked on the Heat/Cool Unit - the room was poorly vacuumed and food/drink left in the fridge from a previous guest. The beds were not up to the typical standards of beds were have previously stayed in with HIE. Breakfast was great and the pool was a great bonus (and Clean!) I am a Platinum IHG member as well and was not recognized as one. If you are looking for something really nice, take the pass on this one - Price does not meet value.
We stayed for almost a week. During the first night, the a/c didn’t work and the staff promised it would be fixed in the morning and that it would probably work itself out overnight. Well it stayed 80 degrees and I slept only 3 hrs. Next morning the staff promised to fix it while we were away. At 5 pm when we returned the room was still 80. We were moved to another room and things really improved. The breakfast was always good. The cleaning staff did a good job. I would give this hotel a second try.
The pool area was very comfortable and enjoyable. The bed was extremely comfortable. The only thing I would like to see adjusted would be the showerhead. It didn’t have much of a direct stream and was pointed towards the wall making it a little difficult to rinse my hair. Other than that everything was just as I could want. Great place to stay. Wonderful breakfast choices and delicious food.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express while visiting our new grandson in Montgomery. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the room, the comfort of the beds, and the additional lounge space and kitchenette. The breakfast selection was better than most places we have stayed and the dining room was beautifully decorated. We even enjoyed the indoor pool with our older grandkids one afternoon.
The Holiday Inn Express at Montgomery, N.Y. was easy to access from I-84 and close to I-87 which is why we chose the hotel. The property is fairly new and beautifully appointed and maintained. My experience was very positive from front desk staff to breakfast service to housekeeping efforts. The room was exceptionally quiet, including the climate control level. The bedding was immaculate and extremely comfortable. The walk in shower in the bathroom as well as the granite countertops were big positives for us.We would definitely stay at this property again when travelling in the upstate N.Y. area. There are many good restaurants, at all levels, to choose from. We enjoyed the service and food at a local restaurant during a busy season.
My room was cleaned only 2 of the 3 nights spent at the hotel. When I called the front desk I was told housekeeping was gone for the day and the woman who answered the phone said she was the only one on duty. She did bring me some towels later. Front desk staff could be friendlier beyond check. There was no one at the front desk at check out so I had to call out to get an agent to the desk so I could express my displeasure with the housekeeping service or lack there of. Also it is very hard to program the thermostat to get the room to a comfortable temperature. So you know I have been staying at your hotels since 2008.
This was by far the best hotel weve stayed in. From the lobby to our bathroom we could see and smell clean. The breakfast was very good with many options to choose from. The other guest all were very kind and made us feel comfortable. Would recommend this hotel to friends and family.
Convenient location , rooms (moved after bathroom found dirty) refrigerator leaking and dirty next room with hairs on bathroom floor and in tub. Not to my standards. Walls thin had trouble sleeping ...coffee maker had bug inside that cane out when using in room coffee maker :-(Staff very nice , parking free and easy. Breakfast ok ... not best not the worst I’ve had.
My mother stayed here during Thanksgiving since we live locally. We picked her up in the morning and dropped her off in the evening. She and we loved every aspect of this hotel. It was clean, beautiful, comfortable and the staff were caring and competent. The door to the room closed too hard and she mentioned this and when we came back in the evening the mechanism had been removed by the maintenance man and the door then worked beautifully. She found all the staff to be very caring and they looked out for her while we were gone. She ambulates independently with a walker, she went to breakfast on her own and loved it. My sister and I sat with her in the guest room for coffee which was filled with families with children, and couples. The room became too warm because she couldnt figure out how to turn the heat down in the middle of the night.
I decided to block rooms here for my wedding because the employee at the front desk, Adam, was such a kind, helpful employee. He is a great face for your company and willing to go the extra mile to make your guests comfortable. The rooms were very clean, however there were a few things that I was unhappy with. The fire alarm going off at 5:15 am on my wedding day when I need all the rest I can get, AND that caused me to see my fiancee (bad luck!!!) before we got married which I know the hotel cannot help, however an apology from the hotel and maybe some type of discount/free meal voucher/anything would have been appreciated. I booked the suite and was told it was for 3-4 adults so while 2 of us slept in the king bed, another 2 slept on the pull out couch. The couch was extremely uncomfortable, and through just a glance you could see it was slanted downward. When we called downstairs to ask for some pillows and bedding for the guests, we were only given one extra pillow and received attitude about needing bedding. To me, its disgraceful an entire hotel could only scrounge up one extra pillow. I had to give one of my pillows so the other guest had one. It should not be advertised or suggested that a room can sleep 3-4 people if what a person needs to sleep cannot be provided.
The guest room was quite spacious, well-maintained and clean. It was well-furnished (sofa, easy chair and a computer desk) although the bed was a bit firm (for my taste). Visiting in November, we did not use either the heat or a/c but had to run the fan to keep the room from being too warm. The breakfast buffet was somewhat crowded (Thanksgiving weekend) and the staff had trouble keeping it stocked. Overall, a comfortable experience but somewhat overpriced for a rural area.
Im printing a very important document and the printer was out of ink. They replaced the toner but it was a wrong one. The front desk was so helpful to let me use the front desk computer and continue printing until I finish my documents.Because of that I checked-in again for another 6 days.
Greeted and checked in in a timely manner. The staff was friendly and receptive to any and all requests made. We wanted to extend our stay an extra night and had no issues doing so. We were visiting family and used the lounge area to eat together and spent time playing games there. We loved that the area was able to accommodate our family and we had a great time together. We also used the pool facilities and that was equally great. We have stayed here before, and will do so again in the future.
This hotel was open, airy and felt clean and welcoming to weary travelers. Check in was quick and easy. Our request for a first floor room was met. The room was clean, smelled fresh not musty and the climate was pleasant. Bathroom was fully stocked and clean. When we travel our biggest requirement is cleanliness and Holiday Inn Expresses always afford us that luxury and comfort.
In addition to being clean, and having a variety of pillows, I requested extra bath towels - they were delivered pronto. I forgot to take my clothes out of one of the drawers, when I noticed, I called the hotel ( I was already home 6 hours away). They shipped my clothes to me and charge my card, it was only $8 - well worth it! So happy they were able to assist and it only took 2 days to receive them. Would highly recommend this hotel!!
Ive been staying at this hotel since the month it opened and it has offered consistent quality. If the bagels and English muffins were fresher, it would be 5-stars all around. A picky guest might quibble with the bathroom tiles, too, which show minor cracking that come from hurried installation. But the staff is great and its super clean throughout. It has an adequate small fitness room and a better than average pool.
The hotel staff were very friendly and able to work with me and my needs. They made sure I was able to check in as early as possible because I was traveling for an event. The room was clean and very comfortable. I enjoyed the breakfast provided and the hotel products that were available (toiletries).
The hotel was really nice.Very spacious and affordable rooms in a safe location. The beds were very comfortable and we felt comfortable there as everything looked clean.Unfortunately the last night we stayed there the fire alarms went off. We were woken up at 2am by the alarm in our room.No one knew what was happening so we decided to evacuate. We were all standing in the rain outside at 2am with no guidance from staff. (No staff member came out to inform us of what was happening)10 mins into the rain the police and fire Dept showed up to turn off the alarm. (it appears someone was smoking in a room). They let us return to our room but.... still no staff members around. (We struggled to back to sleep that night).Everything else was great but its worrisome to know that staff was unhelpful during a false alarm.
Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The TV was a great size, but it kept getting dim by itself. They have a pool and gym available for guests. Finally the breakfast was the best i have seen from any hotel, the pancake machine blew my mind and they had Cinnabons!!!!
We stay here every year. The hotel is always clean. Breakfast is included and hits the spot! The staff is always very friendly. Last year, our car battery died. The maintenance staff helped us charge our car battery right away. It saved us from having to call AAA and we were on our way in no time. Very nice people!
The overall staff was very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast has a nice variety. It was a good location from the three properties we were touring. Parking is good and the building is welcoming and nicely decorated. There are an abundance of outlets for recharging your devices. The rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable.
The staff was warm and accommodating. They took care of minor things. I got the tub that i wanted. Wish there were more toiletries like toothbrushes and combs. When we came back at night, it was too late to request such. But the bed was heavenly! More pillows would have been nice! The breakfast spread was not too big, but enough for us to indulge our sweet tooth. Wish you had sunny side up eggs! The warm cinnamon rolls -yum! The coffee is excellent! I take mine black, but my husband prefers his with light cream.
I have used the property many times in the in the past, and if I had any complaints it would be the road noise (which is uncontrollable) and the flashing smoke detector in the room(s).The rate can swing widely depending on the time of your stay, but I have never felt that the rates were overboard and unreasonable. The staff is great all the time! (At 10pm when i tend to arrive or 5am when I have to leave for the airport!)Which is another positive point to mention - the hotel is less than 10minutes from SWF airfield and you cant beat that when dealing with an early AM flight....
Great breakfast with a wide selection. The swimming pool was clean and well maintained. The rooms were comfortable, clean, with a microwave and refrigerator provided. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. The shower was easily adjusted. The staff both in the breakfast area, cleaning, and at the lobby were pleasant and accommodating.
This was the best experience my husband and I have had in a hotel in years. The bed was crazy comfortable. Pillows were awesome. Breakfast was fabulous and the staff were very helpful and friendly. And the entire area is beautiful. We were there right after a noreaster went thru and the snow was beautiful to us Texans.
Our room was clean and comfortable. Staff was pleasant, polite and helpful. The pool and workout room are very nice. This is a great location with easy access to the freeway, yet it is quiet with pleasant surroundings. There is a large grocery store within walking distance. The complementary breakfast is very good for a motel, with a lot of variety to choose from.
We were very pleased with our stay. The Continental breakfast was very good, even included bacon, which seems to be something missing at some other hotels. The room was very nice, with plenty of modern conveniences (a good TV, fridge, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker). For those visiting Wallkill, Patterson and Warwick, they are about 20 minutes, 40 minutes, and 50 minutes away, respectively (not accounting for major slow downs). All in all, we had a great time at the hotel. The pool is nice, the staff were all very friendly, and its close enough to most anything you could need.
We stayed here on the last leg of a long trip. Got in late, exhausted and starving. We got checked in with no problems, the staff seemed nice. They gave us good directions to some restaurants in town and we found a very nice one. We had a great sleep. I didnt get to use the fitness center because we had to leave so early, but it looked pretty good. The breakfast was typical of other Holiday Inn Express hotels, so dont expect any surprises. Not that it was bad, its just as someone who frequently stays at HIEs, it all boils down to pretty much the same thing wherever you go.I would recommend it to fellow travelers in a heartbeat.
Hotel and rooms are great. Very clean bathroom with walk-in shower which we loved. Cant say enough good things about the breakfast. Tables and chairs kept very clean and the breakfast items were kept well stocked and hot. Coffee was excellent and will keep you talking about it and wishing you could have it every morning. Attendant fill your every wish.
I had a rough two weeks prior to my stay. I was able to sleep, stress pain. You name it I had it. However from the time I entered the lobby I was greeted with a welcoming smile. I had issues with my card and the staff were patient with me. To top if off I feel asleep on that soft bed with no problems, I didnt even want to wake you. I left feeling energized and stress free.
I was a little concerned about booking a two night stay at a Holiday Inn, but due to the weather forecast, I needed to be close to the high school for a weekend swim meet and this hotel was only 5 minutes away. I was delightfully surprised by the overly spacious rooms, the extremely comfy pillows and the brand new EVERYTHING! The breakfast, which was included, was really good, and I must say the cinnamon buns were excellent and the coffee not so bad for a hotel! Front desk staff was friendly and helpful and the whole experience definitely changed my mind (for the better!) about Holiday Inns in general! Will absolutely stay here again next year and recommend to all to do the same. Only suggestion is that they work with the guests who need a late check out time. Many of the guests were participating in the weekend long swim meet and it is so very helpful to have a late check out time in these cases, and a neighboring hotel offered this quite willingly so I would hate to see you lose some return customers over this. I, personally, did not have this problem as I was staying for 2 nights, but I overheard a few guests complaining about it.
Located conveniently near a McDonalds, Walgreens, and a Dunkin Donuts, is this great little hotel. Check-in was a breeze and the clerks were super friendly and helpful. I asked if they had some milk I could purchase, and he said “no problem!” and went to the breakfast area and handed me two milks on the house. The room was big and comfortable as well as the bed. The only thing I’d say anything about was the fact that I couldn’t get the closed captioning on the TV, and that’s a very small thing. The room had a little microwave and a mini fridge that were both very useful. The breakfast was a typical breakfast that you’d expect at any hotel. They had this crazy pancake machine as well! You could also ask for a to-go bag and they will let you take some goodies to go. Check out was easy as well. Loved our stay here.
Very quiet and safe area. Thefood was very good and I enjoyed the large flat screen TV. Parking was the best, the lake out fron of the hotel could use some cleaning too many weeds. The front desk clerk could have been a little happier, she seemed tired. But overall a good stay.
The hotel is lovely. The staff is excellent. My only issue was that when I called about a airport shuttle a month before my arrival, I was told they had one. I was going to be flying in from Scotland and knew I would need this. I called and told the hotel I was ready to be picked up and was told there is no shuttle. A cab is $30 to tune hotel. Thankfully UBER was available.
Staff was extremely friendly. The room was very clean and quiet for our meeting. Only negative would be that no one checked in to see if we required anything for our lunch meeting such as a set up for lunch with plates and utensils. We have held several meetings here as it is a very pleasant room.
The shower handle would not mount on the wall and you had to hold the shower handle the entire time of taking a shower and to make the situation even worse the tub drain was completely clogged and would not drain out at all. We brought it to the attention of the front desk and asked to take a shower in a different room.
The rating is mostly based on the breakfast staff (not sure of her name) that is there during the week days. She has to be the most rude hotel staff that I came in contact with during my 11 plus years of traveling for my job. She never has syrup out for the pancakes. She does not smile or engage with hotel guests at all. Most of the time I see her either behind the front desk, sitting down and watching TV, walking around the first floor away from the breakfast area or outside smoking. On one occasion, my co-worker waited 25 minutes for her to bring out eggs. Her excuse was that there were more people at breakfast. Well, the amount of time that she is behind the front desk, she should have done a little research in the number of type of guests staying and anyone who his in a service business would have known to have more food cooking to avoid running out before 7:10 (mind you breakfast starts at 6:30). This is totally unacceptable and she is the face of the hotel, as she is one of the first faces you see during your stay. Breakfast selection is not that great - typical breakfast items. Nothing rotates at all - same hot items - bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and an attempt at an omelet. Now for the rest of the review, as many people have said it is a newer hotel. Noise can be a concern - either outside of the hotel or outside of the room in the hallways. My last week staying there were little leaguers staying and one night were pretty loud at 10:30 (totally unacceptable from a coaching or parent perspective), so I ended up calling the front desk and they took it away. I could not say anything more positive about the front desk. My bill was always right and has a zero balance at the end of the stay. Speed of checking in is also great and they staff are generally very pleasant, less again the lady that works the breakfast during the week days. The location of the hotel cannot be beat either. It is just off I-84 and there is a McDonalds, Dunkin Doughnuts and a Burger King within walking distance. There is also a Shop Rite close by as well. The rooms are new and fresh. Each room has a microwave and mini refrigerator. Bathrooms have a shower/bath combo, which is nice. The hotel also has basic fitness equipment. You can also walk by the hotel, though most of the roads are 55 miles per hour and little sidewalks. There is a town park not too far away that nature hiking paths. WiFi is extremely reliable as well.
From booking to check in the staff remained friendly and welcoming. The room was clean except for the carpet. It looked like it wasn’t vacuumed from the previous guest as there were crumbs on the floor. Since I checked in late and left the next morning I didn’t make a fuss. Otherwise bathroom was clean and the breakfast was better than most hotels.

2022-02-16I typically dont take the time to leave reviews unless Im impressed one way or the other. I wasnt impressed. For a relatively new facility, it had some holes in the caulking around the shower. The first night we were there it seemed like the people in the room above us were going to come through the ceiling as they were walking/running/jumping/stomping up until about 11:00 p.m. Ive never experienced a real earthquake before but now have an idea of what to expect if I do. We were on the first floor near the front desk so they had to be aware of the circus in town on the second floor but apparently didnt feel the need to do anything about it. The refrigerator wasn t working and had to be swapped out on Day 2. The front desk personnel were perfunctory in their duties and it was obvious that they really didnt want to be there. The most helpful employees were the cleaning/maintenance staff. They were pleasant and attentive to our needs and the only reason I gave a rating of 2 stars. I know that I wasnt booking a room at the Ritz-Carlton but I do have a basic level of expectation when I stay at a hotel. Ive stayed at Holiday Inn Express hotels in the past and have been satisfied with their staff, facilities and service, however, this one pales in comparison. I cant/wont recommend it.

2022-03-07Staff was friendly and very helpful during our five day stay. They even provided a wheelchair to help get my great aunt to and from the room. No request from the front desk was a bother and we had several (extra coffee pods, sewing kit, dish soap, toothbrush, quarters to wash, and Im sure Im forgetting something.) Rooms were space, comfortable, and clean. My aunt mentioned multiple times how comfortable her bed was.

2022-04-04The rooms were large. The hotel is just off the interstate but close to local restaurants in downtown Montgomery for dinner. There is a McDonalds and Dunkin walking distance, however the hotel coffee was good. The staff was friendly and check in was quick. The free breakfast was great. I would definitely stay there again if I am ever in the area again.

2022-02-22Stayed here unexpectedly and found a great property and staff. Competent and helpful staff at the desk, breakfast, and housekeeping. Well-done breakfast; clean and comfortable room. Couldn’t have been better.

2022-06-24It was one of the more decent hotels in the area. But still theyre extremely pricey. I had a double Queen Suite room with pull out couch there was a mini fridge a microwave and a small coffee maker in the room as well. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and stiff as a board. They do have a pool there but it is very small but the plus side is its handicap accessible so that is extremely great and thoughtful. The front desk staff were kind of rude and not as hospitable as I thought they would be I used to work for this hotel in another state and the one I worked for was beautiful and people were amazing the staff was so great and kind to others in the guests but this one didnt live up to those standards. Theyre extremely busy they had a firemans conference going on at the time. They do serve breakfast from I believe 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and they have an assorted variety of things available for you to have. They do have a Dunkin donuts in front of the hotel that was extremely convenient on the other side of the hotel they have a ShopRite Chinese place a pizza place that is not very good and nail salon and a little strip mall so thats convenient and its accessible to the highway to get to wherever you may want to go its a nice area.

2022-03-16Unacceptable..I do not not understand the positive reviews of this hotel and wonder if I was staying at the same hotel of these positive reviews. As a rewards Gold Member, I check reviews before I make reservations. I have stayed in way too many IHG properties. The hotel was NOT to the IHG standards. It is filthy when you walk in, the carpets down the halls were stained and dirty, and walls had stains on them. (I actually rubbed off the spots to see if they were chips or stains-stains. The room had carpet stains that have been there for some time (mentioned in previous reviews). They did not make the room the second day of the stay (actually previous reviews pointed out the same thing for 5 days), nor did they provide clean towels. Explanation was because of COVID. In the meantime, staff and housekeeping walking around with no masks or PPE.

2022-03-03Honestly I try not to pick the Holiday Inn Express hotels because I travel a lot and Im usually on a 3rd shift schedule so the walls and or soundproofing in this chain just is subpar. You can always hear the guests in the adjacent room..... in every one of their hotels but.... this one has THEE BEST shower stalls lol. A bit of mold around the edges... but the way it seals you can make a steam shower in an extremely short time which is just important to me because when away from my gym at home you cant just find a steam room in every city but the height of the FULL glass shower area and the gaskets around the door make for an impressive steam in a very short time... like 4 minutes and its ready to sweat you out!!! Some people could care less about something like that but it was an extremely welcome amenity!!

2022-04-01My wife and I have stayed at HIE Mongomery a number of times and never had a problem. Great hotel and staff. Maybe next time I will be able to use the pool. Very clean hotel and great free breakfast.

2022-06-18The hotel looks overall not very nice. When we walked into our room it smelled musty and there are a bunch of stains on the carpet. It looked better on the website.

2021-08-12Overall I had a good experience with this hotel. The front desk staff were helpful. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, I felt the pillows were a bit too firm though. They allowed use of the swimming pool, which was cool considering other Holiday Inn hotels had a lot of covid restrictions as to hotel amenity use. The free breakfast was on point. I would like to commend the hotel staff named Naomi. She always made sure the food trays and coffee pot was refilled to provide for all the guests enjoying their breakfast. This hotel made my stay enjoyable despite the pandemic adjustments that need to be made.
