Holiday Inn Express Cortland, an IHG Hotel in Cortland

The staff was friendly especially the breakfast ladies. Few but nice breakfast choices. The pillows were great I like that they leave both first and soft pillows on the beds for variety. However the beds were super small. They sell out quickly and over charge for college weekends. It was $100 more on move in day.
Good location, clean hotel, nice staff and hot breakfast. There is a Perkins next door if you dont want the breakfast the hotel serves. Theres a Planet Fitness within walking distance if you are a fitness person and a member of that. Could not hear the interstate so I slept really well.
The room was very spacious and the bed and bedding was very comfortable! The staff was nice and breakfast was a typical continental. Unfortunately we were woken up by someone taking a shower in the room above ours. They weren’t being loud, it was simply the sound of the water hitting the floor of the shower. Also, some items were left in the room from the previous occupant.
Given the place is one of the newest in town, decided to give it a try since last two times were at a competitor. The cost is comparable to the other hotel yet the pool is in disrepair and someone has the chlorine level up quite high. The rooms were clean...until you have to use an outlet and see behind the nightstand. The breakfast was a nice touch yet in an effort to reduce waste the warm food was sparse and took a while to be filled which would be fine but when pressed for time with a busy schedule it doesn’t work well. Staff was as friendly as the other place.
The facility is very good. Management has never learned to be polite or honest, requiring us to accept a smaller room as other facilities were all booked. They said it was a discounted price, but not true....it was standard price for a smaller room. Two of our three party group sat in front lounge until after midnight over the controversy....manager handled problem very poorly. A paid, guarenteed RESERVATION needs to be RESERVED. The client pays if not checked-in; the Company is obligated to hold the damned room since they hold the cash.
Rooms are clean and staff is friendly and helpful. I reserved the rooms a couple weeks back and the process was quick and simple. It is easy to get into and out of the parking area but we will be going out later so parking is still up for debate. So far so good!! Yall come stay here its nice!!
Our visit went smooth. It would be nice if the a/c would run between 12 midnight and 5am,I wonder if anyone has had that issue? For us it occurs often. We actually wake up damp and sweaty. I have noticed very often, (80%) they shut off and we only do IHG HOTELS.This place is nice otherwise
My family uses this hotel as a standard location when we all are in town to visit our parents who live nearby. The rooms are always clean and very comfortable, breakfast is a good option when needed. My only comment is that not enough gluten-free options are presented for those who need them.
The hotel needs to adopt and enforce quiet hours. Most hotels I stay at have them from 10PM to 7AM. The first part of our stay went well. Good sleep, fulfillment of cleaning requests, and breakfast choices. Later in the week the traveling ball teams showed up and everything went downhill. While the parents hung out in the lobby drinking the kids ran up and down the stairs and hallways. The hotel staff attempted to quiet them, but they just ignored or snickered at them. I asked who the parents or chaperones were, but they just said not our kids, then they proceeded to come up to the same floor. One night they were up slamming door until after 1:30 in the morning and then up again around 6AM. They also seemed to overwhelm the breakfast staff and cleaning teams.
I enjoyed our stay for the most part. We came there to go tubing and skiing. However we also did choose the hotel because of the indoor pool. I called the hotel before booking, to make sure we were able to use it. Upon arrival, we were informed the hotel heater was broken. My four year old ended up being to short for tubing at Greek Peak so the pool would have been a great alternative. We also had an issue with our sink being clogged with old hair. To the point, we couldnt use it. It was brought to staffs attention and they said it would be fixed for next guest. At that point I feel a small discount should have been offered.
Our first stay at the Holiday Inn express in Cortland was a very pleasant experience, even if it happened during the Pandemic time. The check in was safe and secure. The room was clean and bright and the bed was very comfortable. If I had a complaint at all it would be that the bathroom Sink seemed more designed to splash than to wash. Otherwise the experience was really good and the breakfast pickup was very tasty.
I have had mostly pleasant experiences staying at IHG hotels, up until this point. I do a fair amount of traveling as it pertains to work and have become accustomed to the nice hospitality IHG, mostly Holiday Inn Express, has provided. Recently, I had a very unpleasant experience with a front desk employee that was doing check ins at the Cortland NY Holiday Inn Express. We waited for a bit on her, which was no issue at all. She was visibley unhappy, again no issue I understand customer service is not an easy line of work. The issue began to arise when she did not explain covid policies well and left me quite confused and was a bit abrasive. She also handed me a form for breakfast handouts that required input, I asked if I could take some time to think about it and return it to her shortly... that was another issue. She seemingly wanted it back right that minute - but after a long day of traveling I had yet to check my schedule for the following day. Overall I was extremely uncomfortable and irritated by the entire experience. I contemplated canceling my stay at that moment as after a day of traveling and other covid related stresses - it becomes very tiresome to then deal with a frustrated front desk employee. If it is of any relevance I am also a gold elite member.
Hotel was very nice and staff was very friendly. Only problem we had was a sluggish drain in the sink. We brought it to the attention of the front desk, and she made an order for it to be fixed. Thanks for all your help during our stay and best wishes for success in the days ahead!
I was impressed with the renovated feel of the building which is a stark difference after staying at the Holiday Inn in Old Town Alexandria, a very vast difference. The room smelled fresh, the air conditioner wasnt blowing old dust, the carpet was actually vaccumed. The bathroom was spacious and clean. I wished I had apent a week there vice the one in Old Town Alexandria, VA which needs to be renovated. The staff was courteous and professional. The laundry was inexpensive, $1.50 to wash and the same to dry. I had a very quiet and relaxing sleep. I will definitely recommend
The bed was very big and comfy and the morning wake up call is very loud, which I definitely prefer since Im a heavy sleeper. I had a handicapped room despite not being handicapped, so the space was much More spacious than I needed.there was a very annoying bright blue light outside, but the curtains were blackout curtains and were able to block out the light to let me sleep. There was also a random takeout container lid on a table in my room. When I asked at the front desk they said that there was high occupancy and half the cleaning staff was out. Im not easily grossed out so it didnt bother me at all, but I could see it bothering other people.
Most friendly and helpful management ever, so lovely and great first impression of hotel. Couldnt have been more sweet, giving me directions to a function I was attending along with a helpful map, ensuring parking in car park and facilitating an early check in. If nothing else had gone right with hotel this lady ensured I would have left with a good impression. Fortunately everything about the hotel was exceptional, and I dont give praise lightly. It was clean, stylish, roomy with excellent service in both bar where we had lunch and restaurant where we had dinner. Food was beyond good and service in both places attentive and efficient. Room itself was well equipped and comfortable. I could go on but suffice it to say I was very pleased with my stay, and although short and sweet this time, I hope to be back for a longer visit in the future.
This was our third stay at this motel with our grandson. He loves staying there and we feel very safe for him at this facility. Rooms are very clean and comfortable and very quiet. Resting was no problem. The complimentary breakfast was and has been on each visit very fresh and good. It is a nice layout with different types of seating for various tastes. The location of this facility is also great for access to I-81. We certainly will be back next year about the same time and I am sure our stay will be great, only thing is we will be staying an extra day.
I was made to feel very welcomed and cared for by the front desk clerk, Chris. She checked me in with a friendly, professional manner and assured me of the safe surroundings during Covid 19. She really helped me to feel less nervous about having to stay at a hotel during the pandemic. She is an outstanding member of the Holiday Inn team. The room was very clean and comfortable.
I stay here every year for a local event and have never been dissatisfied. The staff is great and they really do care about you. I mentioned to a staff member that my refrigerator didn’t seem to be cold enough, it seemed like magic a maintenance man was there and she told him the room number. Within 15 minutes we had a new refrigerator. As it turned out the lady was the manager. Last year she was helping out at the breakfast one of the mornings. We also were treated great on arrival, they remembered us from previous years and we felt at home, safely at home. We will be back again. I think I reviewed our stay last year and I do believe that it was just as glowing.
Needs an overhaul and a good cleaning - Bed sheets were damp and room smelled musty. Bathroom has some sort of mold on ceiling. Soda in vending machines empty. Elevator walls were smeared and drip marks. Pool walls and bottom are de-laminating. Wall vent in pool room rusty. Desk staff not in attendance.
Very little time was actually spent at the hotel. Accommodations met my expectations. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Shower water was hot enough. Breakfast variety was nice and food tasted good.Front desk staff was pleasant at check-in and departure. Breakfast staff kept on top of keeping food available and was very helpful to another guest who had physical disabilities.
The staff, check-in and check-out were great. The breakfast was very good with a nice variety of items. Super cinnamon buns and great coffee! My room was average. There was a stink bug on the other bed which sort of dampened my stay. Also, the rug had not been thoroughly vacuumed between the beds, and the bed skirt on the other bed was all askew. The bathroom was ok, although hot water was sort of scarce in the morning. It was not a bad experience at all, but I think for the price, it could have been better. It was just not as spiffy as other Holiday Inn Express hotels I have stayed at.
My girlfriend picked this hotel based on the online reviews...and she has some very specific cleanliness requirements...which I have found to be a benefit. This hotel did not disappoint. Checking in was easy, room was very clean and bed was comfy. Out of the two nights we stayed, we were only able to have breakfast on the last morning of departure...breakfast was very good, great variety, and the automated pancake maker (while needing much attention for false bag empty indications) produced very good (if only slightly tough) pancakes. The room was very clean, shower had great water pressure, no lack of amenities. She brings her own supplies, but as a guy, I was happy with the shampoos and soaps provided. Plenty of towels...we dont like the room service when we are not in, and Im good with using towels, sheets repeatedly...all worked out well.Very happy with our stay. Thank you.
Loved the stay - the price was right, hotel was easily accessible. Plenty of parking. The room was spacious and this had to be the most comfortable bed Ive slept in while traveling. Did I mention the friendly gal doing the breakfast setup? Yummy stuff with a variety of options...not to mention a fridge AND microwave in my room. All is all, a win-win.
The check in was easy. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable. Went looking for ice machine had to go to all 4 floors to find it on main floor. The breakfast service was very nice staff took great care of area and the people that came down. Coffee was fresh and hot. The knight we checked in it was nice that there was coffee and tea available.
I have stayed at this location several times. Each time has been consistently good. Service and staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean. Complimentary breakfast is way better than expected. It is exactly what I need for quick overnight stays when I visit my son or do business in the area.
Convenient and capable, the Holiday Inn Express Cortland is conveniently located off I81. I’ve stayed here several times for business and my only complaint is their inconsistent pricing, which has varied by as much as $50. The beds are comfortable, the breakfast is decent. Plenty of accesible outlets. Tiny refrigerator, no freezer compartment. I am not a fan of the shampoo & body wash dispensers in the shower — It may be cheaper and less wasteful, but doesn’t strike me as sanitary. At least they still have bar soap.
Very easy check in and check out. Room was clean except bed skirts looked stained. Beds were very comfortable with clean sheets. Bathroom was nice with soft towels. The hotel staff were very courteous and check in and check out was easy. The free breakfast was a bonus with many good options from cereal, oatmeal, eggs, bacon, fruit, etc. Coffee was good too. Easy access while visiting SUNY Cortland.
This hotel was so good. I can’t say enough good things about it. From the people to the food to the cleanliness, everything was excellent! The lady in the breakfast area was the sweetest. The front desk staff went above and beyond so we did not have to move rooms the second night. Overnight staff at the desk were so helpful. Will certainly stay here again.
Check in was very busy.....perhaps two customer service reps would be better during the busy check in hours.....that being said, Aaron ( who was working the desk ) was very efficient and had us assigned to our room promptly. Our room had not been fully cleaned when we arrived there, but with one phone call, he had us in a new room in a matter of minutes. Once settled, we loved the hotel....it was very clean. The room was very current in its furnishings and the bathrooms were impressive. ( A bit of needed detail in the shower area along the ceiling line, but nothing to cause alarm, simply sloppy painting allowing previous colours to be visible)The complimentary breakfast was impressive and the staff were very attentive! Sleep quality was amazing. The only area for improvement would be to quiet the doors to the other rooms which seemed to close with a much louder than necessary bang. Over all, it was a great experience and quality that you can count on.
We checked in very late, 1am i think. Don helped us...he is amazing!! Give him a raise!!! He was very informative, gave lots of great feedback and options for us. Made us feel really good to be a guest at the hotel. Rooms very spacious and the washroom was good. Only one bad thing i would say is that in the morning i notice a couple of ants on my bed. Loved the breakfast, so many options and it all tasted great!!! Would come back again. And again, two thumbs up for Don!!!
My husband and I were stranded in Cortland for the night with our 2 year old due to car trouble and we decided to book a room here after an experience across the street at another hotel. The front desk staff was super friendly and helpful with local recommendations within walking distance. They even gave our 2 year old some coloring pages and crayons. The room was very clean and comfortable and the morning breakfast was great. We were initially hesitant due to the price difference between the other local options but it was really night and day compared to the other one we opted not to stay in and 1000% worth it. Highly recommend!
This hotel is conveniently located right off of 83. We were in Cortland for the NYSHS girls championship soccer playoffs, so the hotel and the surrounds ones were pretty full. We had a good stay, I did feel the price of the room was a bit pricey given the location and competition. But the room was clean and the staff was wonderful. We will defi it stay here again next time.
We had a very pleasant experience with this hotel. When we arrived our room was freezing. We called down and they immediately gave us another room. We had no problems after that. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. The beds were very comfortable and the room was a nice size.
I usually truly enjoy staying at a Holiday Inn Express and always recommend them to family and friends. I would not recommend this one. There were multiple things wrong in our room, it was like it was the left over room. The wall paper was falling off, the drawers to the dresser would not stay closed. You could not use the clock/radio, yes I still use them. The coffee filter still had left over stuff from the previous person that had stayed there. As I was getting ready to shower, there was no shampoo and I did not have time to call down to ask for some. It just was a very bad experience. We were exhausted when we got there or we probably would have asked to change rooms.
Upon arrival, all seemed good. My husband wanted to take a bath in the jet tub so I went in to start the bath and there was a mass of slimy goo dripping down the shower wall and all around the edges. I decided to clean it myself. It was gross. Then I went to put my clothes away and stepped on an open safety pin that was on the floor. At this point, if I mentioned this to my husband, it would have been bad. So I quietly picked it up. Then decided to check out the pool that I reserved for us. That was worse than the tub goo. Hair on the floor, dirty, cloudy water but the used bandaid on the lounge chair did it for me. Went to get a cup of coffee on my way back to my room and nothing to stir my sugar and creamer into my coffee with. Was told by front desk that they cant do stir sticks but handed me a wrapped spoon. Why not just leave some of those wrapped spoons out? I filled out a form for breakfast requests and the next morning got nothing I asked for. Spend most of my time out in my RV. Only stayed because my husband liked the tub. Only because he didnt know how filthy it was. For what I paid for 2 nights in a King Suite, I expected much better service. I am completely disappointed and will not recommend this location to anyone.
We recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and found the experience to be wonderful and warranted recognition. First and foremost, the staff was extremely courteous and very welcoming. Jocilyn and Cheryl were our front desk hosts and could not be more helpful and kind. Upon check in, Jocilyn went out of her way to give us very useful information about the surrounding town regarding restaurants and activities available as well as great information regarding the college that we were visiting. The accommodations were exceptionally clean, comfortable, and had a warm, inviting décor. The breakfast was another wonderful surprise as it was not your typical continental breakfast. The hot buffet of eggs, pancakes, and pastries were delicious, fresh and plentiful. The breakfast staff was present the whole time, cleaning up, replenishing and welcoming guests. Thank you again for such value for our money, it was greatly appreciated.
Great staff, clean rooms, amazing people. Kaylee Paolangeli was an amazing employee and very personable. Gave suggestions for restaurants, fun activities, and answered any problems or concerns with an amazing attitude. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Continental breakfast and coffee are also outstanding! Way better than average. I loved this hotel. Have an amazing day everyone.
The ladies who were working the breakfast are just lovely. They are very friendly and sweet. I would come back to the hotel just for them. I think the coffee station should be moved to be closer to the breakfast. This would make working a little easier for the ladies. I had mentioned to one of the ladies the hot water was running low and she was so appreciative. I had also noticed a guest sneezed all over the serving utensils. I mentioned it to the ladies and they were so thankful and immediately took those away and wiped down the area.
After having had a previous bad experience with this hotel we were hesitant to stop here. We came after a very long drive heading for the border. Aaron, check in staff, made some suggestions which resulted in us getting more done in Cortland in a quicker way. We did not like our first room and it was immediately changed. The kitchen helper had coffee at 5:30 AM and was very cheerful. Any question we asked or comment we made was answered professionally. I have never rated a hotel as highly as I have this one.
Mediocre. Staff was super friendly. Rooms were ok. Could use a little better cleaning but nothing horrible. The pool was pretty rough if you do have kids who plan on swimming and the work out room is pretty minimal. The hotel just needs some upgrades. It seems newer in some areas and then looks a billion years old in others.Food in the morning. Lady was super nice and helpful. Plenty of choices. I would stay here again but I wouldnt go out of my way to stay here.
Hotel offered everything we needed. We needed an accessible room so called ahead to be sure room was available. I also was picky and wanted to see pictures of bathroom to be sure I knew what devises I might need to bring to make our stay comfortable. One of the associates- Jessica - sent me pictures, confirmed my requests and followed up to be sure I was comfortable with the room. Jessica was on site during out stay and was just as wonderful in person. She is a true asset to your team. The lovely ladies at breakfast were also amazing and very attentive and kept the food well stocked and clean even during an extremely busy time. Bed was very comfortable and room was nice and large. Overall an extremely great stay - would highly recommend !!!!!
The hotel was a good value for the price. Rooms were comfortable, and the breakfast had enough variety for all. We had an issue with the heat not working, but the staff was helpful and quickly moved us to another room that was right next door so that it was quick and easy to settle in.
We usually always stick to Hilton brand but we were very pleased with our stay. Hampton inn down the road was sold out so came here and Alison at check in was so friendly and gave us lots of great recommendations for dinner and was very pleasant in assisting us with check in when we were very tired from traveling all day. Room did not have soap or bag in trash but she was very quick to get us some! we will stay here when we travel through cortland from now on!
I have stayed here at the HI E many times in the past and in many cases the quality and care is outstanding. I was disappointed on my recent stayed, especially with all the concern about cleanliness, and the Covid 19. The staff was great as usual, but the room seemed to lack the expectation that especially in these times we are told that new measures are in place better than ever. The sink seemed to have a lot of stray hair in the drain, and I had to remove this hair in-order for the water to drain down. The dust in the bathroom van looked like you could have knitted a childs sweater from it. I was amazed that with all the new guidelines from IHG , that having clean vans from blowing dust and contaminants would have been in the cleaning manual. I did mention the dirty bathroom van to the clerk at checkout, but she did not seem to even bother to write it down or even take an interest when I mentioned this to her. I do like this HI E but some additional cleaning should take place now that is more critical than ever
I got a room with a whirlpool tub so I could take a nice bath, however, the jets on the tub were moldy and disgusting. They didnt look like they had ever been cleaned. If you are going to offer a room with a whirlpool you should be cleaning it properly. There were also only sheer curtains on the windows. I had to wake up with the sun everyday instead of sleeping in because of the lack of real curtains.
This hotel was beyond clean, bathroom, room, lobby, elevators. Just perfect and comfortable. The room was tempered perfect, smelled great....not stale. The lines were crisp and clean, bed comfortable along with the pillows. Enjoyed our stay along with the breakfast, the staff was so friendly and genuine. I will stay here again for sure over the next four years.
My only somewhat negative commend is, I thought the rate was a bit pricey for a mid-week stay . That said, the hotel common areas are clean, check-in and out was a breeze and the staff is friendly. My room was clean, bed was comfortable and pillows with varied firmness provided. AC worked very well, bathroom amenities sufficient, water temp and pressure very good. TV had plenty of stations to choose from including free HBO.Breakfast includes a nice variety of both hot and cold food, self serve with the typical hot and cold breakfast drinks. Notables: Close to everything, only about a 10-12 min. drive to the SUNY campus, 5-8 minutes to downtown Cortland. Even numbered rooms face the highway. Getting into the hotel from the northbound exit of I-81 could be a challenge when theres traffic. Exit ramp has a stop sign only, and you need to cross 2 lanes of traffic to get to the entrance to the hotel.
From checkin to checkout, our stay was great. Staff were very nice and helpful. Room was spotless and comfortable..My husband and I were very pleased with breakfast. The area was comfortable and very clean. The food was good and replenished frequently. All in all, very nice stay. Well be back.
The staff were excellent and the room was comfortable and clean. Was disappointed in the pool for size, depth and condition. Neighbors across the hall from us were two gentlemen who were obviously accompanied by escorts. (No fault of the hotel or staff). However the escorts left around midnight, so we were able to rest without worry of drama. Breakfast was good but could have enjoyed more hot items.
I have stayed here several times over the years with no issues to speak of but on this particular stay there existed several small things that made for a less than desirable stay. Within my room I had a non-stop dripping bath faucet, a sink that would not drain and 2 of the 3 shower bottles (shampoo, conditioner & shower gel) were empty. Little things generally but together were unimpressive. Furthermore when Iexplained it to the front desk I was told they would put 2,000 points in my account but (6) days later those points still have not arrived. Not sure if someone forgot or if I was just given lip service? This wasn’t this hotels best showing but luckily for them these are all fixable items.
I had been on the road for 8 hours. At 2 a.m. it was time to stop and get some sleep. Stopped at the Holiday Inn in Cortland and was able to get a show and good nights sleep. The reception are was very nice, the hostess was very polite and cordial, and the room was very nice, clean, and welcoming. The shower felt good but the bed felt even better. A few hours later, we awoke and went had a very good breakfast before getting back on the road. The food was good and there was ample room for seating. I would recommend this hotel.
Theyve improved whats been a good budget hotel. Everything continues to be clean, the staff friendly and professional. The breakfast is much improved, which is very welcome. Theres less packaged food, and better entrees. I liked the omelette and sausage. This breakfast is a cut above similar hotels, which makes a big difference.
We attended a wedding reception in Homer, N.Y. Our stay at your hotel was very good except for the young girls dance studio that stayed across the hall from us. They turned out to be very noisy both late at night and early the next morning. The breakfast staff did an outstanding job keeping up with the demand for food and drink from the regular travelers along with the dancers and a college girls field hockey team. As usual the breakfast meal was outstanding especially since I was lucky enough to get my food before the big rush. The front desk reception was excellent as we given our room keys early so we could prepare for the reception. We know that you have to clean the rooms as soon as you can but vacuuming at 0900 in the morning is a little early.
Jessica at the front desk is a joy. She helped me find delicious places to eat and truly made me feel welcome. When returning to the hotel after a long day, she made me feel like i was returning home. Don , who works the overnight, made my early mornings not just bearable, but really put me in a great mood and ready to start my day on the right foot. As an employer, these are the kind of employees i look for and treasure. They really enhanced my stay and are huge factors as to why id want to come back. That, coupled with the high standards that the hotel maintains their rooms in and the quality of the amenities, makes this a perfect place to stay while in the area.
We had been travelling all day, saw this hotel and were able to book a room. We could not believe, how wonderful the staff were, how clean the hotel was and overall how it felt that we were among family. We had been staying at holiday inns our entire week and this one by far was the best. We would recommend this hotel in a heart beat. Please keep up the great work there. I really liked and I wish I could remember her name, walked around the breakfast area....having conversations with the guest and offering the use of her knowledge of the area. Keep up the good work.
It was our third stop on the trip and we finally landed in Holiday Inn.White linens, comfortable bed with a choice of pillows was relaxing. In the morning we have enjoyed hot breakfast. Choices were amazing. Attendant checked constantly if anything else was needed. Room had a clean smell when we arrived, temperature settings were accurate. Would stop there again.
The weekend fee was severly increased in the entire area because of a local graduation. Thus, the hotel was booked to capacity. This meant that there was a severe hot water shortage and all of our showers (no matter what time of day or night) were tepid at best. After the weekend the hot water was fine. When I called the front desk they said they increased the temp of boilers but it was a known problem when the hotel was fully booked and the manager was out of town attending a conference so there was nothing they could do. I found several reviews complaining about the same issue going back 2 years. This means the hotel has been aware for some time but doesnt care to address the reoccurring issue. That is disappointing and makes me angry especially since the fee during high demand weekends is twice as high. I just wanted a hot shower but would have settled for warm. I eventually got it after 3 days but it was frustrating since the most expensive days were the worst of my 1 week stay. The pool was also very gross and dirty and unusable but still open.
Experienced such excellent service! We were coming into town on a sold out weekend (graduation weekend May 13-15, 2016) and requested adjoining rooms which the hotel did their best and was able to accommodate us. Then arrived to a few extra treats in the lobby and in our rooms due to the special weekend. Everything was clean and comfortable. All of the staff from the front desk and the cleaning staff were so pleasant and helpful and they seemed genuinely excited for us that it was a special weekend for all their guests. They kept breakfast open later too due to the sold out weekend. Just an all-around excellent experience we wish we had every time we travel. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend over any hotel in Cortland (I have stayed at 3 other hotels in Cortland). Several restaurants within walking distance and a grocery store very close by. Right next to the 81, so very convenient to get to. All rooms are close to elevators and nice sized well-lit parking lot.
Check in: Quick and easy. Friendly staff.Room: Basic room. The lamp had outlets to charge electronics. Microwave, refrigerator, iron and ironing board in the room. Comfortable bed. At night it was a bit cold, but I got my extra blanket.Bathroom: Good size bathroom. Clean towels and toiletries provided.Breakfast: Basic but good.Pool: I had my swimming suit but did not use it because the pool looked in need of maintenance.Other: There is a Perkins across the street. You can walk there. The hotel is off 81. There is a gas station about a 3 minute drive.
The room was very clean. The beds were extremely comfortable. The bathroom was clean also. But it had mold on the ceiling and they never made up my room. Which was fine with me but I wanted clean towels. I had called down to the front desk and they immediately brought me fresh towels.
Our room was lovely. When I saw the room, I said, One can get lost in here. The room was quite large. The breakfast was the best we ever ate when it was a self service buffet in a hotel or motel. The person on duty at breakfast was wonderful. My husband and I both use canes and she helped us with our food and even served us. She is a lovely person.
My stay at the Cortland Holiday Inn Express was comfortable, convenient and easy. The exterior was in good shape. Plants/grounds were maintained. The lobby/check in area was clean, welcoming, modern and nicely maintained. The hotel room was clean, spacious and amenities were in good working order. The double bed was small for two adults but the mattress and pillows were comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends.
We stayed in Cortland as a place from which to make the quick (40 minute) drive to Cornell for parents weekend with my daughter. The hotel was perfect for this purpose. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the room was fairly comfortable. I also enjoyed the ability to work in the breakfast area during off hours, which greatly added to the ability to relax during my stay. I didnt see much of the hotel during daylight hours, but it seemed clean and well cared for.
I found this hotel was accommodating for the short visit, however, I thought the price was to the roof, considering it really didnt have anything unusual to offer. Just the normal hotel. I have visited other hotels that were much nicer in comfort and accommodations. I am very particular about soft and white, white towels, and I didnt get that at this hotel. Soft and fluffy towels wins me over every time!My main problem was that I had to pay for an extra day because I was unable to arrive until 3:00 am in the morning and they would not adjust the rate! So, it was either pay, or stay in another low rated hotel. The breakfast bar was great! Many choices of food to choose from no matter what your eating plan happen to be.The front desk was more that pleasant and accommodating!
No one wants to discover the hotel they booked develops a serious problem during their stay. After arriving, the hot water system failed. I was told the issue was being addressed. When I woke up the next morning, it was still not fixed. From the moment I called the desk to ask about the issue, the staff - from general manager to desk team - went above and beyond to make things right and to see my needs were met. Listen, hotels are open 24/7 and things happen, that is a fact of life. But how one deals with life’s problems is EVERYTHING. The entire staff of this hotel deserve credit for their professionalism and attention to guest needs. The team offered the highest example of customer service I have ever experienced in my years of business travel.Despite the water issue I experienced I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND the HI Cortland to other travelers. You will discover a great stay waiting.
The employees were all very good answering my questions and recommending restaurants and places to go. The room and hotel was clean, quiet and you had your privacy. The pool was nice, but chilly. The beds were extremely comfortable. Enjoyed having a refrigerator and microwave. Bathroom was a good size. Excellent stay.
I was very pleasantly surprised with this motel. Traffic noise was nonexistent even though we were next to the highway. Continental breakfast was wonderful (eggs, bacon, sausage, muffins, pancakes, etc., etc.). The staff here are awesome! Very friendly and they went over and above to accommodate! This is our place to stay on our next visit!
Wonderful hotel for a young family. A great range of healthy and tasty breakfast options, fluffy towels and spacious rooms made our stay enjoyable. Also, we were placed far away from the elevator (per our request) and provided with toothpaste from the front desk. A perfect place to stop on a road trip!
Positive: Wasn¿t too far from the community college we needed to get to Negative: Air conditioner kept kickin out , very hot and uncomfortable in the room, pool was out of order. Couldn¿t sleep well, felt like something kept biting me , ended up turning lights on and watching to in a chair
Holiday Inn, you have done a remarkable job with this hotel... I think it is brand new. The interior and rooms are just beautifully decorated, like a high-end boutique hotel. The wall coverings, the flooring, the furniture, the lamps and accessories, the artwork, the bathroom and fixtures... all are just beautifully designed and the installation quality is top notch too. My room had a fridge and microwave, which every room should have nowadays. The bed was just unbelievably comfortable. Whoever designed this hotel, should be commended it is truly an outstanding property and now one of my favorites - I honestly did not want to leave. Oh, and the breakfast was delicious too. The quality of the food was very high - anyone who travels knows food quality is not consistent among hotels, but it is a great indicator of the quality of the property and management. Holiday Inn, I hope you make all of your hotels this good...
Had to book this hotel at the last minute due to problems at another area hotel. Booked the room easily with the toll free number and it was ready for us upon arrival. The hotel is appealing inside and out. Its very clean and the beds are quite comfortable (except for cot which we did need -- that was a typical cot). Breakfast was good with a lot of variety. My family loved the biscuits and sausage gravy. There was a youth basketball tournament in town so the hotel was a bit noisy but by 11 PM it had quieted down substantially and remained quiet all night. I would definitely stay here again.
The staff, Hannah and Jessica, were extremely helpful over the phone and in person once we arrived. They were very accommodating in making sure we had ground floor rooms as we had seniors with us. Even though it was a busy weekend for the hotel, they handled everything in stride and made us very welcome. The pancake machine sparked a lot of laughing and conversation at breakfast. Too funny!
Ample parking, greeted with variety of coffee and tea in a lovely decorated lobby. Lobby offered comfortable seating, outdoor patio and big screen television. Fireplace was an added bonus. Bed was comfy but would have liked a different variety of pillows. Will stay again when I’m rown over the next four years.
I was visiting the Holiday Inn Express - Cortland NY with my family due to a college tour at Cornell University the next day. We enjoyed beautiful views of the Catskills mountain region on the drive to the hotel. Everything about the hotel was in brand new condition. Our room was lovely and very clean. It had all of the features we look for in a hotel (free continental breakfast, indoor pool, nice location, fitness center, comfortable beds, refrigerator in the room, etc.). The staff were very friendly, especially the housekeeping staff who provided extra shampoo and towels, and had the rooms immaculately clean. We hope to visit the area again soon, and we will definitely stay at this hotel again when we do. Thank you for such a wonderful visit!
My stay was short, but the Hotel was more than adequate. Fitness center only had cardio vascular machines and was very small. Good service personnel were great. Front desk personnel were very professional and helpful. Room was clean but did not have adequate cell phone charging ports.
Overall very pleasant. Probably best choice in the area. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Bedroom was a little small. Used to two queen beds instead of two double beds. Gym only contained a couple of machines. Has a nice pool, but no hot tub. Wished the room doors were a little thicker to keep hallway noise out. Dont believe there is a view from any room.
I must say the staff made my first stay in Cortland a very pleasant one; they were very accommodating, friendly and patient especially with all my questions - most of which had nothing to do with the hotel. The hotel itself is very clean and gives a homey feeling; the coffee and breakfast are very good. It was quick to check in and even quicker to check out. Will definitely be going back. Thanks again Holiday Inn Express, keep up the good work!!!!
This hotel exceeded our expectations. We were in town for a college open house and our Wyndham hotel was under renovation so we took a chance and were very pleased. This hotel was very clean and comfortable and had a nice pool, fitness center and business center. The fireplace in the great room was a nice touch and breakfast choices excellent. Was a great value and would stay again.
The hotel is convenient for visiting SUNY Cortland and entering and exiting the highway. It was clean. The price was reasonable. The staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a great. The woman, Helen, who services the breakfast area was terrific!! Very kind and knowledgeable about the area. An absolute pleasure to speak with. .
We come to Cortland to visit family at Easter. This is our second time staying at the Holiday Inn. The service is friendly and accommodating. The only thing I would prefer is 2 queen beds in each room. The double beds are small for 2 people. I especially like the access to the pool for the grand children. Being able to get up and walk to the breakfast area to get a delicious breakfast with friendly service and many breakfast choices is an added bonus for us. We will definitely consider the Holiday Inn for future visits.
Great service and convenience. My wife and I visit our daughter who is a freshman at cortland college. We have been at the holiday inn express at least 5-6 times during her visits to see the college and now that shes here. We plan on coming back to this hotel since our experience has been very good. Next september we have 4 rooms booked for a football game between cortland and ithica. The staff is excellent and we enjoy the hotels cleanliness.
The room we had was spacious, the bed was comfortable, the amenities were great (wifi, breakfast, nice desk in room). The hotel staff was friendly but best of all was the price. We got so much more for our money at this hotel compared to other places we stayed on our vacation.
Our stay at this property exceeded our expectations. We had a clean and comfortable room and a very easy check-in after a long drive. The staff were courteous and professional. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and it was a nice surprise to have an air conditioner that actually worked and was not too loud.
The staff was extremely accommodating. I broke my ankle 2 days before arrival and was on crutches. I called up and they gave me a handicap room and a late checkout since my daughter was going to be at college orientation and I could no longer accompany her to the campus. Even after my late checkout they allowed me to stay in the main area to watch tv and use the business center. The staff behind the desk asked me several times if I needed anything, wanted water etc…. Other staff also offered to help me. All were genuinely concerned. As far as the hotel, we were very pleased. It was clean, close to campus and a nice breakfast and thank goodness for that handicap room because it saved the day for me.
I called twice to confirm my early arrival and they said sure no problem, but I was not aware I had to pay an early check in fee. I am upset that I had to pay an extra $50 for my room and no one said anything. The breakfast was good, the first night was horrible. Team of hockey players on the second floor surrounding our room making a commotion for three hours straight. I called the front desk twice and they were still making noise. The room was pretty clean.
My last stay at a Holiday Inn is years ago. I am happy to see that there are big improvements in all aspects. We enjoyed very sufficient and friendly service, a clean impression and very useful add-ons. You can still ask for your cheap one-time razor if you miss it. But the focus has now turned to provide you with extra services you really enjoy: A high-quality coffee machine for your wake-up, a docking station for your iPod and a microwave oven (and naturally fridge) for your kids hunger-attacks. Everybody seemed to enjoy the free breakfast buffet but if you have a special diet of just want to eat healthy you will find the variety a little limited. if you enjoy pancakes, bacon
After a long night of driving, I decided to book a room at the Cortland Holiday Inn on Locust Ave. The Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The cost to stay at the hotel was very reasonable. Also, the amenities was one of the perks in staying at the Holiday Inn. The Fitness Room and Pool are available to all guest. Free WiFI and complimentary Breakfast is also a major plus. outside and inside the Hotel is very clean. The room I stayed in was clean and cozy. I will strongly recommend this location to anyone who is interested in staying at a Holiday Inn.
This time I had a great stay I was not feeling well and the staff was very helpful and caring to me and my needs. They gave me a late check out since I am a member with many stays in several places which I Greatly Appreciated that so much!!! The only I wish is that they had a freezer in side the fridge in the room!! I have disabilities and need ice packs on a regular basis, they do put them in there freezer for me wrapped up but it would be so much easier if they had a freezer in the room fridge!! Otherwise my stay was great I was able to rest and feel well enough to drive back home to PA!!!
Glad we decided to stay here before starting a week long cycling tour- plenty of room to arrange tour bags the night before which led to a peaceful mind and peaceful sleep on a comfortable bed! Staff friendly and very helpful. Rooms are in great shape and i loved that we could black out the room with the curtains provided! Definitely coming back to this hotel next year!
Outstanding service from staff all around and room and bed were super comfortable! We will be back same timeframe next year! The vanity in the bathroom could have been larger—for ADA room there should be enough space. Only other comment—breakfast entrees could be kept hotter. Highly recommend this property.
Holiday Inn Express Cortland was so accomodating to a large group of us. We used the common area for a nice wine and cheese party and all of us who stayed at the hotel were impressed with your staff. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The rooms were so quiet and I had a good nights sleep every night I stayed there.I highly recommend your lovely facility!
It was a last minute stop and we decided to try Holiday Inn. What a great decision. Beds were comfortable, bedding clean. It is close toba shopping center if you need some extra snacks or so. In the morning we had breakfast. It was a combination of hot and cold items. All fresh.
This was exactly what you would expect from a holiday inn. Room was very clean, bed was comfortable, breakfast was pretty good. The pool was closed but it seemed kind of small anyways. If you were looking for a hotel with a pool you would be staying here anyway. Its also walking distance to a Perkins but the Mexican restaurant in town is way better.
I can always count on HIE for a great experience and any Holiday Inn Express is usually my go to. Cortland did not disappoint and the breakfast was great, rooms were clean and well maintained, main lobby area was great for group chats and relaxing. The fitness centre could use some upgrading (no dumbbells?) and was super dirty. The pool looked less than great, although I did not use it. Overall, a pretty great experience
Positives: Nice location: convenient and quiet. Courteous and efficient staff. Meets basic needs. Negatives: Room size too small for a family of four - cant fit in the rollaway bed anywhere. Bed size is full size and its not queen as is mentioned in some hotel booking sites. Breakfast area is too congested. A little pricey for the services provided.
I came to the Holiday Inn Express in Courtland because of a job that I was training a crew on. Arrived night before job and the bed was great, clean room, a typical Holiday Inn.The job was moved to Ithaca last minute so I did not want to do a 30 minute drive every morning. I had already booked my stay for 3 nights so I requested that I could be let out of the remaining nights at no charge. I know this is not company policy but I have asked before at other hotels and it is usually not an issue. If they would have said no, I would have stayed at the hotel and had a longer commute in the morning. When I made this request at the front desk they said they would run it past the general manager in the morning. I left with another employee early in the morning and then came back to the hotel when the general manager was in. When I returned we inquired at the front desk and the general manager came out around the desk and was very confrontational from the start. She yelled and made a huge deal about how this was horrible and then instructed her employee to get them both out of here now. She then proceed to make it a well known point how she was giving us hundreds of dollars and how appreciative we should be and how much of a problem that we were being for her. We remained polite and civil as she kind of had us at her mercy as we really wanted to change hotels. I informed her of my intent to complain about how she treated us and she did not care.I am a platinum member and stay over 100 nights per year in holiday inn hotels and I can say with all honesty that she is the most rude, most unprofessional, most negative person I have ever met at any holiday inn, or any hotel chain ever....in all my years traveling....EVER.I will say that the other front desk employees were very nice and civil and what you would expect from Holiday Inn. Unfortunately because of the general manager I will NEVER stay at this hotel ever again.
This hotel never disappoints me. Each time I stay here I am greeted warmly when I enter the lobby. The entire staff is customer focused, friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. The lobby is beautiful and comfortable and the rooms are spacious. Beds are very comfortable and the room is quiet. Love staying here!!
Staff was very friendly and my wife noticed how the breakfast attendant went out of her way to serve a father with two young boys after the breakfast hour was past. She went into the back to get hot and cold food so they could enjoy a good breakfast..she did NOT have to do this but went out of her way !The beds and pillow were the best we have ever slept on!Excellent stay and my wife can be extremely critical but she found NOTHING wrong!I just wish I personally did my homework about local running races since I found a 1/2 marathon finishing up a few blocks from the hotel..will try to make it next year for our college visit!
I was greeted with a friendly smile at check in, check out and at breakfast by staff. We couldnt hear noise in the hall or through the walls. My only complaint is the camera lense we found on the floor beside the bed on arrival but other then that our stay was great.
Had A nice stay over Christmas it was very quiet and relaxing. I went to use the pool for the first time with all the stays I had it was cold and ended up not going into it. The pool looks like it could use a little remodel on the bottom. The staff are super nice and treat me with up most respect!!
I chose this hotel for its proximity to the college my daughter and I were visiting. It is located right off the highway and we are glad we stayed here. My only issue was the air in the room smelled stale and it was remedied by turning on the AC for a little while. The room was clean, the staff was very nice and the breakfast was good. We would stay here again in the future since my daughter will be going to school nearby.
I stayed here with my mother from 8/16 - 8/18. The room was neat and clean but the handicapped bathroom left much to be desired. There was water on the floor upon our arrival and got worse when we used the shower. The ceiling of the shower had multiple spots of mold. There were no other handicapped rooms available and the the initial fix to our problem was for the staff to dry the floor and put down a towel. The owner/manager did give us a discount after our second complaint upon our departure. My mother is also a long time IHG card member and she was not able to use to points for this room. Not the best experience.
Beautiful room albeit sink wouldnt drain and the tissue box was empty. Guests on the floor visiting, doors slamming, talking in hall and rooms until early hours. Excellent staff. Good parking. Free newspaper and nice breakfast. Sleeping comfortable, internet good, liked double shower heads, didnt use whirlpool tub, liked swivel tv for both bed and couch viewing.
Clean and comfortable environment. Great service and friendly staff. I admired the breakfast staff for her ability to keep on top of things, especially when items were running low. She was there all alone and was able to clean and replenish supplies without anyone having the need to ask.I would definitely recommend this hotel.
We stayed one night w our teenage son. Room and hotel were clean, up to date and comfy enough. Windows opened for fresh air. Double beds were tiny and the bathroom and coffee were set up for only 2 people though we had reserved for 3. Breakfast was standard- not the healthiest (few whole grains and very sugared yogurt) but served well enough for one morning. However- everything at breakfast service - plates, forks knives, yogurt and coffee cups were plastic/ styrofoam or coated and there was no recycling. We are a normal, responsible family trying to live well on this planet but we really found this lack of recycling shocking, unessecary and irresponsible. Even hotel staff were baffled as to why the hotel doesn’t recycle. It looks bad for the corporation and is bad for the environment. We’ll check on this before booking again.
Excellent. Very well located. Very good modern facilities, well decorated and mantained. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, far better than that one from other hotels we have been before in the area in our way, from Canada, to visit the family. Friendly and courteous staff. Our hotel since now on.
This is a newer hotel with great staff a great breakfast and clean rooms.Everyone is so accommodating from the time you walk in the door to the time you leave. They offer lots of breakfast choices from cinnamon rolls to a more healthier option of turkey sausage. The WiFi is the best I’ve had in a while traveling.
After working a 12 hour night shift, getting off work to find yet another Winter Weather advisory happening... the staff was so friendly and accomodating!! I was allowed to check-in early, eat some breakfast, and start relaxing in my room. The staff at this location is so friendly and welcoming!!
We came for a family emergency and had to stay in Cortland. I am disabled with mitochondrial disease, an energy efficiency disease and sleep is important. We PREPAID for a KING SUITE not knowing ALL king suites were on the expressway side which was so incredibly loud neither of us could sleep. We had unpacked all our things, medical equipment and medication and had appointments leaving little time to move. So we got a fan from walmart to try to block out the sound of the trucks which was incredibly loud. The room was outdated and the jetted tub could not be trusted to use with the jets because of the black circles around them, I have pictures if you want to see. It was also a rather dark room. When I asked to move I was told they only had doubles away from the highway!!!! No king bed or suite. The manager Theresa refused to refund anything but moving to a double which was not what we contracted to when we prepaid, but we thought we would have a room we could sleep in. We ended up leaving a day early and she also refused to refund that night but offered a credit for a return trip....why would we come back if we could not sleep in the hotel. We should have been compensated more for the first 2 nights and the last night.
A Very Relaxed Atmosphere! The Staff were very Pleasant and Courteous unpon Arrival.Helpful. Nothing but Good to say! The Beds were comfortable! The room spotless.. And we definitely enjoyed our breakfast in the morning!!This is our Secong Time to Stay There.. and most definitely will again!!
I was traveling for business and truly the last thing you want to be thinking about is your hotel. Holiday Inn Express was exactly what it is supposed to be - a dependable hotel in terms of quality and price. My stay was comfortable and I had no issues at all. Each time I went to the front desk to ask a question I was greeted with a smile.
We had a Jacuzzi suite. The sofa sleeper was actually quite bad, very uncomfortable and no blanket. Other than that, every other detail of our stay was great. Breakfast began at 7 and we had to leave before then, so we missed out on the breakfast, which was disappointing. Overall nice stay.
Excellent location for travelers, but inattention to room preparation or maintenance. Desk staff unresponsive to maintenance requests. Easy to note if cleaning staff used checklist when doing room to notice that there were no tissues. Bathroom could use towel racks, only choice was to waste water by putting even gently used towels on floor, because fresh dry ones were on wooden shelves below sink and no racks, no extra ones either. Dresser unusable because unbalanced and dtawers slid open repeatedly, esp.the top one even when empty, unsafe for toddler grandson. No towel racks and no extra towels. Breakfast was excellent. Well displayed and Hot choices were hot.Hotel experience enhanced by friendly, helpful Breakfast preparer .
We find the Holiday Inn very dependable. If we are planning a trip it is one of our top hotels to choose from. The Holiday Inn Cortland was clean and comfortable. The beds were comfortable and the heating worked perfectly. Honestly they had some of the best smelling towels I have ever used. The breakfast was quite adequate much better than some other chains. The only negative was that there were a lot of slamming doors and someone was knocking loudly on someone elses door late at night but this is not under the hotels control.
The outside of the hotel provides a welcoming and updated appearance, but inside, rooms are outdated. Our room was coated in hair from someone else. Pulling back the comforter on one the beds, we were greeted with many hairs from the pillow to the sheet. We decided to sleep on the other bed. The tub was also full of the same hairs, as if no one washed the tub before we arrived. To top it off, there was also a used bar of soap in the tub.Free breakfast is always appreciated, and it was ok, but the staff could have been more diligent about refilling food items.
We stayed at the Cortland HI Express after a Syracuse game, as all closer hotels were booked. We would go out of our way to stay there next time, as it was clean and well-equipped with anything we would need. I was especially impressed with the gentleman at the desk when we checked in late Friday night. He was also there when we checked out at 5:45 AM and offered to get us something for breakfast as it was not officially open yet. This is not the usual action of people at this time in the morning. We often travel and leave hotels at 5:30 AM and are told breakfast isnt open yet and thats that. It is nice to know that there are still nice, conscientious workers out there who want to please their clientele.
This is an ok HIE. Though i feel it is overpriced for the location and offerings. The staff was very nice and dealt with my negative experience well, which was that my bath towels while rolled up appearing to be clean/fresh towels were in-fact wet/dirty/used towels.Front desk immediately brought up new/clean ones. But did leave me feeling a bit concerned about what else may have been not or under cleaned.Id probably look for an alternative place to stay next time in the area, to look for a more affordable place.
Stayed at Holiday Inn Express during recent business trip to Cortland. Pleasantly surprised at the upgraded features of the hotel and the friendliness of staff. Hotel common areas and rooms were recently remodeled, clean and comfortable. Offered complementary breakfast which was comparable with most complementary breakfasts but the room was clean and the food was hot and plentiful.
This Holiday Inn is right off the highway, so if you need easy access - they have it. The hotel looks like it is brand new and everything was spotless. We asked for additional sheets and towels and were responded to with a smile. Breakfast on Sunday was a bit hectic with all the guests, but we were able to land a table after a short wait.Overall a good value for the price.
Nice friendly staff, they seem to really enjoy doing their jobs. The staff is really concern on their guest. The last time I stayed, the hotel was occupied by a couple of groups of young hockey players . The staff has experience with large groups especially young kids and their rowdy parents. The staff did make sure all other guest were put on higher floors so the noise would be little, and would not upset their guest. The practice of this seldom happens at other IHG properties I have stayed at
My recent experience at the holiday-inn Express was average at best, if I had a choice I probably wouldnt stay there again. To sum up my expensive, I wanted some milk to make some hot chocolate but was told it was for breakfast only.the linen didnt smell fresh and we ran ot of toilet paper rather quickly. I book my stay for a relaxing time not to go back and fort about issues.
I travel regularly through New York State and always stay at Holiday Inn Express properties, and I had stayed at this property once before. Its easy to access from I-81. There are food choices nearby, including a Perkins that can be accessed on food right across the drive. The room was clean and comfortable, but I found one exception in this HIE that was different from all the others at which Ive stayed: They dont provide any plastic cups in the bathroom for brushing teeth, taking meds, etc. I was going to ask the front desk if I could get plastic cup or just take a coffee cup from the coffee service near the lobby, but then I spied a plastic ice bucket with two cups stashed beneath the nightstand, and I used one of those. Anyway, It seems to me to be a pretty cheesy thing to do to cut costs, which is the only reason I can think of that they wouldnt provide the plastic cups in the bathroom.Other than that, it was an OK property, and I will likely stay there again.
The overall experience was good. The staff were all nice. The pool was smaller than we expected and work out room was extremely small. There were 2 treadmills (one was broken), cycle machine, foam roller, stretch band, 2 exercise balls. I thought that there should have been a total body workout machine or at least free weights. I usually like the Holiday Inn Express, this was not one of my favorites...
I stay at this hotel while traveling on business. Generally I spend 4 days a week in a hotel, and most times its 4 different hotels in week. This hotel property is always well maintained. You will walk in to a clean lobby and a friendly greeting from the front desk staff. The rooms are always clean and comfortable. overall for the nightly rate its a great quality stay.
Clean, awesome staff, delicious breakfast.Staff is more than accommodating to any need. I have stayed here numerous times, from the time it was open approx 5 years ago, the hotel has been well maintained and they kept their standard of great customer service.Best accomadations in Cortland, NY.
Just a place to rest your head and get a goods nights rest. Basic hotel that needs to keep up with their maintenance. Ice machines need some MAJOR cleaning!!! The high levels of chlorine in the pool need to be adjusted, not to mention resurface the pool. Overall just a simple hotel.
Originally, housekeeping missed cleaning the bathtub in the room when we arrived, which was a bummer. But, Colleen, one of the housekeepers was very on top of her game! She didnt miss a beat and made our room the 1st priority. After that, our room was spotless for the remainder of our stay! I appreciated that turn-around tremendously.
We have been going to the Holiday Inn Express for the last four years. We live it and are always greeted warmly and the hotel is very nice and clean. The only disappointment we had was for graduation. They tripled the price and was a mandatory two night stay. That is truly the only complaint we have
Not impressed. I have a thing against BO on sheets, towels, and pillows. This hotel recks of it. Not the friendliest staff. All business, not service. They were ready to boot me out before it was time to check out. Only constellation was its a quiet location and close to the highway.
We were in town to visit a terminally ill relative, and worrying about the hotel was the last thing on our mind. Thankfully even though we booked sight unseen the hotel turned out to be very clean and convenient with friendly and polite staff. The mattresses were a touch hard for my personal comfort level, but my spouse slept just fine on his.
Very pleased with my stay at this hotel. It is well run, clean, and comfortable. The staff is friendly and willing to help if called upon. The breakfast selection is limited, but the quality was fine. Overall a good choice. Especially as compared to other local hotels....
I was not very happy when I came back to my room to find a party going on in the lobby which was 1 room away from my room. Let’s just say my toddler could not sleep which kept me up. It was very loud and quite irritating to try and sleep. Also when we arrived the shower had hairs in it which grossed me and my fiancé out. On the plus side, the staff were very friendly and the beds were comfortable.
The hotel and room were very nice and the desk staff was attentive. I was disappointment that the work out area was so small and lacked any weights. There appeared to be very few guests the night I stayed and the staff seemed a bit relaxed the next morning. Thank n the breakfast area there was no one providing service.
I love the staff at this hotel and the manager teresa is so nice and helpful. Its in a good location with places to eat near by. I only wish they would accept pets but we cant have everything. but breakfast is always good and they have a nice selection to choose from!!
I originally booked 3 rooms under a non-refundable rate. When I found out that I would only need 2 rooms the night of arrival. I called and spoke to the front desk. The clerk said that she could not refund. I started looking for someone else to take my room. When my daughter arrived at 3pm the clerk said that she would be able to cancel the room at no charge because she could resell it. This was great! Our rooms were not ready so we checked in later that night. I checked my credit card statement and we were actually charged for the 3 nights. The General Manager was no help, she said her owners would not allow her to refund us and it didnt matter if the clerk said she cancelled it because she was not allowed to say this. The problem is she did say this and we were not expecting to have to pay for the third room.HORRIBLE SERVICE!
Hotel was modern and clean.comfortable beds and clean bathrooms.Breakfast was what is expected. My only complaint is that they seem to be understaffed, there was a long wait just to talk to the front desk staff.Check in took a long time. The price was slightly higher than other hotels in the area.
Weve stayed at the hotel in the past, and it is great. Everything was good this time, except our room wasnt cleaned after the first night. We understand human error, but the excuse that a do not disturb sign was on our door didnt make sense. We left our room at 9:30 AM and there was no do not disturb sign. We will stay there again, but after getting back to the room at 10 pm and finding out it had not been cleaned was a little aggravating.
Thanks for a wonderful stay. We received nothing but polite and accurate help from the staff. We were on a tight schedule to make it to a family wedding and they helped with good directions and made sure that we got our room as fast as possible. Great access from the highway and plenty or services nearby. I certainly will stay there again.
Staff is wonderful!!!! Theres always smiling faces welcoming you and willing to assist you...breakfast is always out on time..Maybe a few more facial tissues in the bathroom would be nice :)We stay here a few times a year...one of our favorites! The fridge and microwave is a plus! Beds are comfy..always a great night sleep. We really appreciate the friendly staff...Thank you!

2022-01-17Rooms need a thorough cleaning... We found a lighter under our bed and mold on the ceiling of the shower as well as the caulking of the tub. We ran the jacuzzi tub before use with soap and mold came out of the lines. Also the dual shower didnt work and there was dirt in the corners of the bathroom. The bed was sunk in in the center and smelled like Fritos.

2022-05-04Room was ok, large King suite with sitting area. It was however a little dusty. My main complaint is the noise from the interstate close by. I had asked for a quiet room but was placed on the front side of the hotel. Very noisy All Night LONG. The other issue was the coffee. First am the decaf was cold and had grounds in it. The next am the was the same and I mentioned it to the manager at the desk. The breakfast staff assured me that the next am there would be hot decaf coffee. 3 out of 4 mornings there wasn’t fresh coffee. Seems kind of ridiculous. I prob wouldn’t stay here again due to the location.

2022-04-26There were truckers parked in the parking lot running their engines for 20+ minutes after 9:00 pm. I could hear the blow dryer in the next room . The walls are so thin, that I heard the blow dryer stop and someone said are you done drying? Anyone walking by in the hall could be heard as well. The breakfast did not compare well with your other locations. No oatmeal , no dry cereal , no juice or water.Items were not being replenished. There was only one coffee lid, no more packets of peanut butter, etc. The eating area was crowded, and there are no trays to bring food back to ones room. It is a dine in only service. The bathroom toiletries were lacking with one bar of soap for a room for 4. The bottle of lotion was empty. The overall experience here was not as expected when compared to other Holiday In Express locations.

2022-03-06Clean rooms, clean hotel, and any staff we encountered was very nice. Tiana at the front desk was super friendly, funny, and very helpful! Breakfast buffet was very good, hot, and fresh. I gave it 4 stars only because the bathroom had some obvious water damage and the ice container had dust on the lid (the inside appeared clean with the normal bag inside though). I would stay here again and would recommend overall.

2022-04-26The staff at this location are great, very nice and very accommodating. Rooms are clean, coffee is good would be nice if they had water bottles available for the guests or for purchase on the floors

2022-03-16Great spot. Pulled off due to a snow squall. Nice set up with a pool and breakfast and comfy rooms. Perkins restaurant a short walk away. Just off the I 81. Nice staff. Peaceful.

2021-08-18The hotel was clean and our room was spacious. Staff was friendly. Buffet breakfast each morning was delicious. I just didn’t like that there was no little snack/drink shop at the front desk. They only had drink machines on each floor and of course they don’t work properly.I’d like to be able to put drinks and snacks onto my bill and not have to carry change for a machine.
