After a tiresome evening here I A’JeeA’JeeKaurSinghQueen A’JeeKaurSingh-Kang and my husband Parwinder Singh Kang checked in Room 708. They didn’t have a King Size Room Available on the highest floor. Just double beds. Ok 👌 that means more pillows for me. As I began to check in I noticed my NAME WAS IN ACCURATE. I pointed it out to the desk clerk. As she had my legal ID in front of her, how hard is it to enter a name correctly. Prior to that she wasn’t able to locate my account on file. After a few tries she got it right. It was thé sighing and gestures that I knew and saw that she was annoyed. She then mysteriously found my account that’s inaccurate. I saw 👀 how her demeanor changed in a happy manner looking at my legal ID with the correct name and what was in their system wrong. The funny part is people don’t have RESPECT IN EVERYTHING THEY DO. For instance My name is ONE ☝️ WORD… If your name is SAMANTHA and you prefer “SAM” then that’s your prerogative. I, on the other hand, do mind. Nothing short and my name is Unique yet not complex. If you go to the doctor and he says open your mouth 👄 “Aah” NOT“A” as in Apple 🍏 Jee as in G which is a participle that signifies RESPECT Kaur relatively simple as you drive a CAR SINGH AS YOU “Sing “ OPERA” or Operatic voice, And KANG AS YOU PRONOUNCE the word KONG ( A’JeeKaurSingh-Kang) People are LAZY, They give no reverence OR RESPECT TO WHO WE ARE OUR IDENTITY “ OUR NAME “ Anyway, I must say I didn’t rest there were hairs at the top of the ceiling in the shower. When I requested toilet paper the gentleman “ LUIS” was polite and respectful in bringing a box, and two rolls. The toilet pressure was ridiculous so I asked the desk clerk if I could inquire a plunger 🪠 from the housekeeping which was already on my floor. She responded absolutely. The housekeeper only had a toilet cleaner and wasn’t interested in getting a plunger. So I called downstairs to the front desk immediately; “CHATTY” responded and rectified the issue. She was polite and respectful. The overnight gentleman went downstairs and brought up 8 bottles of Evian 1 Liter Spring Water. They weren’t cold 🥶 but he was nice to offer to place them in a bag instead of the pillowcase he brought them up in. I responded no thank you. I have a bag and it’s not my style to carry bottles of water in a pillowcase. Of course I was completely turned off. Here I am a lady.. seriously .This hotel was sold out for Friday Night. However, No I can’t say it was a wonderful stay. Where the guest relations made me welcome to come back again . No, Perhaps not.
I absolutely love staying at this location. The rooms are always clean and the staff is wonderful. I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with Michelle at the front desk who is always courteous and cheerful. I have also interacted with Taveka who is always eager to help and offer solutions. I will always choose this hotel when I am in NY. Thank you both for such great experiences!
Parking. There doesnt seem to be any enforcement of parking rules. All the Handicapped spaces were taken by vehicles with no indication of being handicapped vehicles. Also, there was several trucks from a neighboring business taking up at least 8-10 parking spaces. As a person with a mobility challenge I did not appreciate having to walk around the building.
Unfortunately, some of the other guests did not know how to be considerate when entering or leaving their rooms and repeatedly let the doors slam. Also, loud conversations well after 11pm.This is not the hotels fault. The room was just okay. Found stains on carpet and underside of couch cushions that needed to be shampooed, but were not.
This was our first time at the Holiday Inn. We come to this area frequently and now have a terrific place to stay. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Michelle, in particular helped us out with room reservations as we needed a place to stay the very next day. We have already booked another stay in November. We would recommend this hotel to anyone needing a place to stay. Thanks for making us feel so welcome.
This Holiday Inn location is definitely my choice of hotels while visiting and working in this area. The staff is very polite and friendly. They always make sure that all their customers are happy and comfortable. Their rooms are very comfortable and super clean. The morning complimentary breakfast is very convenient and they have a wide variety of food. Been staying at this Hotel during the week for the past 5 months and i have all my technicians staying here also. Its definitely a home away from home and I would highly recommend staying here when your working or visiting this area ...Have a great stay
I stayed at this hotel with my two elderly parents. We were accommodated early, the room was fine and it was clean, breakfast was fine. My only issue was that there was no house keeping service done in our room. We stayed for 3 nights and we had to keep asking the front desk for toilet paper and each time we left the hotel in the morning we’d ask for towels we’d come back to our room to find that the beds were not made and on our last night it seemed like they came into the room but no cleaning was done we believe this because we found the door opened.
My cousin was staying for bereavement and was absolutely astounded on the cleanliness of the room and shocked on how comfortable the beds were. She said any staff member that she had to speak with was very nice and professional. She asked to stay here again when she comes up to NY to visit. The staff definitely made a great impression on her.
This Holiday Inn Express was a nice comfortable hotel. The room was always clean, the bed was comfortable and the HDTV was large and easy to use. WiFi service was complimentary with good speed. The hotel had just returned to daily housekeeping services, and that was very nice. The price was also competitive and less than nearby comparable hotels. I recommend this Holiday inn Express.
Positive: The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The room was very spacious and the breakfast was abundant. Negative: The rug was soiled and worn. The parking lot in back was very dark and intimidating for a woman traveling alone. On the first day there, I told the cleaning staff, I did not need service. Day 3 and 4 even though I took the do not disturb sign off the door
Needs updating. Bathrooms are old and have been patched several times over. Air conditioner was very loud and clearly old. Armed security guards makes you wonder what is going on at this location. Breakfast was decent with good variety, but definitely will not return.
I stayed at this hotel with my two elderly parents. We were accommodated early, the room was fine and it was clean, breakfast was fine. My only issue was that there was no house keeping service done in our room. We stayed for 3 nights and we had to keep asking the front desk for toilet paper and each time we left the room we’d ask for towels when we’d run into the housekeepers we’d come back to our room in the afternoon/evening to find that the beds were not made and on our last night it seemed like they came into the room but no cleaning was done we believe this because we found the door opened.
Found a needle in my bed- was told I should check the bed beforehand and was given 15% off. I had my 18 month daughter who could’ve swallowed it in bed with me. Also- had a cold shower and was also told I wasn’t guaranteed a hot shower. The manager looked as if I was bothering him with my concerns. He even said it was a bobbin pin- which it wasn’t. It was a pointy needle.Manager was rude, non-empathetic man.Definitely do no recommend this location. Staff was great. Management needs to be retrained.
This is my fourth time staying at the Hauppauge hotel in New York. This is like my home away from home. The lady at the desk is still there and she recognized me right away. The location I think is the best because it’s off of I 495. It’s easy to get to and it’s pretty hard to miss. The beds are so comfortable I hardly wake up with any aches. I asked for extra hangers and within minutes somebody knocked on the door with the hangers and a smile on their face. The reward points were kind of disappointing. I have many reward points and no reward yet. I was looking to have maybe an extra night free and the app kept stating that there weren’t enough points available. Other than that it was a very satisfying stay. My wish is that I hope they knock me over with beautiful Holiday decorations because the word “holiday”in Holiday Inn should reflect that.
Our room (717) was unclean. After alerting the front desk they did, to their credit, take measures to improve the cleanliness and to make it up to us, but it still didnt get to the level it should have been. Especially for the price. The hotel is situation just off the Long Island Expressway and the noise from the highway, throughout the night, was loud. Possibly rooms on the other side of the hotel, or on other floors would be quieter?
I was Very unsatisfied with the hotel. The room was clean upon arrival, but it did not get cleaned at all in 3 nights. The drain in the tub did not work to keep water in the tub. The pillows were stiff. Our key cards only worked for one day. We had to get new key cards every day. We had to get clean towels from the front desk clerk.I reserved 8 rooms in my hometown at Holiday Inn Express for a wedding, and I hope it is better than New York.Stacy F
Julie nash was amazing with booking the block of rooms for my daughters 6/12 wedding. The front desk girl (didn’t get her name) was very sweet and accommodating Maintenance man was very very attentive to us. Brought chairs to the banquet room and brought the food we had delivered to the party room. Only complaint is that some of the guests complained about the rooms smelling like smoke. Other then that we had a good stay.
The check in went good, got up to my room and the room was clean and comfortable but the water pressure left a lot to be desired, the tub drained slowly as well. Front desk sent someone up with some draino that made the tub drain much better but the water pressure was pretty bad, I told the front desk about it and they said they’d move me to another room but that is a common complaint they get so they doubted moving me would solve the issue. The other issue I have is not a terribly big deal but parking was a difficult, the lot is always full and I almost every day had to park in the overflow lot when arriving( I stayed there for 4 weeks. ) overall I might stay again but only for the convenience of being close to the interstate.
The register in the room for a/c is noisy when it kicks on to blow air and turns on and off too frequently. I had a warm shower at 5:00 PM thinking the water would be hot by the next morning but it was freezing cold. I was given additional reward points for my pain but I don’t know why it would take over 12 hours to resolve the hot water issue. Breakfast area was well stocked. Guest services were polite and professional but I cannot recommend due to cold water and noisy air conditioning unit.
This Holiday Inn location is fantastic! The rooms are large and the beds are comfortable. The only problem was the constant smell of cigarettes on the seventh floor. We honestly don’t believe it was people staying at the hotel because we arrived early, it was quite possibly the staff but I don’t know. Also they do not serve hot breakfast on Friday which we Found to be remarkable.
I had a great experience as soon as I walked in. The woman at the front desk helped me with everything I needed and more...I actually booked a 1 night stay and by the evening I decided to stay a second night. I was so comfortable and relaxed. Housekeeping was Amazing. She supplied me with everything I needed. I cant wait to stay again. This may have become my new tradition. I couldnt say much about breakfast because due to Covid it wasnt hot breakfast but it was nice that they atleast had other items to choose from. Id definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family.
Found needle in between the bedsheets of the bed my daughter and granddaughter slept in. When spoke with the manager he was condescending and told us,”we should check our beds before we slept in it because we were in a hotel!” Also we had an ice cold morning shower which the manager said, “a lot of people are taking a shower at once so they can’t guarantee a hot shower “ “try taking one later” seriously!!!???? Then offered us 15% discount as if that was right. It’s two nights later and I am still so upset over this and now have to wonder if the bedsheets were ever changed in the first place because how and why would a 2” needle end up between our bedsheets of a clean bed.
Nice hotel. Staff were wonderful. They have these signs all over the elevators and in your room if you take a towel well charge you $20. If youre loud after 10 PM Youll be escorted from the property and lose all monies you paid etc Completely unnecessary. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth. We were supposed to have a hot breakfast as part of a wedding party package. That didnt happen. I did get a cup of coffee. So we Just drove down the road to McDonalds. Other than those two minor things, two thumbs up.
This was our first visit to the area and the hotel was easy to find which was nice. It was made clear at check in that housekeeping would not be coming into our room during our stay (due to COVID) which is honestly fine with us. Anytime we needed extra towels/wash clothes we would just ask the staff and it was not a problem. We used the stairs a lot, the door from the outside to the stairs was not latched at all, you could just open it without using your key card, this made me a little nervous regarding anyone having access to the hotel through this door. The grab and go breakfast was limited but that is completely understandable during this time of COVID. I just wish there was more cereal choices for the kids, other than that it worked out great for us.
When I was in my twenties I worked at this hotel when it first opened. Back then I was still a little questionable. But it was cleaned and a lot of money and time was put into it. Visiting here almost 20 years later I could tell that not any attempt has been put into it to keep it up to date. There was no shampoo, conditioner, and very little body wash in the dispensers. The flat screen had a gigantic blue stain on it. Barely able to watch anything on it. I could see why the reviews are so low
I called in advance to see if the pool was open (that was our most important criteria for picking a hotel because of the kids). I was told the pool was open. Come to find out it was not and hasn’t been for a year. Needless to say, we had three very disappointed kiddos. The room was small, but neat and clean. Beds were very comfortable. However, housekeeping never came into our room for the three nights we were there. When we called for clean towels, we were told it would be 2-3 hours until they could be provided!! Unacceptable being that we had already reused towels and wasn’t about to reuse them all again...gross! They never even showed up until we called again in the morning! For no housekeeping, no pool, and mediocre grab and go breakfast the price was way too high!!! Won’t be visiting again.
Premises shabby and in need of a total update. If you need maintenance be prepared to ask more than once. Get your extra towels the day before you need them, housekeeping not available til 8am. Housekeeping comes once every 5 days so be prepared to take your stray hairs out of the bathroom sink yourself. You may not be assigned the room you reserved. Most staff pleasant and willing to accommodate.
I was very surprised by the how clean the rooms were after viewing the outside. The outside of the building looked run down and not well maintained, power washing needs to be addressed and over all cleanliness of the parking lot. I did have to request more toilet paper and hand towels which house keeping took care of right away.
Only problems were the lack of compassion by the assistant manager for an extra night (wouldnt let me use the card on file jeeze.) And the fact they had the fire alarm go off twice at 1030 two nights in a row. Ugh!Breakfast was good, checkout was easy, check in missed the mark, didnt realize they charged you the whole balance for the stay when you got there. Oof!
The hotel is located right off of the highway and accessible to all points on Long Island. As it is right off the highway, you can hear the cars throughout the night and there is no good barrier to drown the noise. My mother-in-law could not sleep while we was there. Breakfast was cold danishes and bananas in a bag. The bath soaps are refillable on the wall, which has to be refilled the first day I was there. After three nights, though they would offer clean towels, but had to request. The hotel should be more considerate that they are not providing normal services and tell customers upfront that towels and bedding are available if requested. They Need to do something with the noise from the cars on the highway, which you hear all night.
While the staff did their best to accommodate us, the rooms were awful. The AC didnt work and the bathroom was filthy. We transferred rooms. The AC worked in the new room but the bathroom was filthy in that room as well. I had to scrub the tub myself. The only reason I didnt cancel and go to a different hotel is because of the cancellation policy and I did not want to be charged.
The property is hard to get to, even if you are local. eastbound it is pretty easy. from any other direction not so much. The room will be cleaned if you are out of it by 9am and dont return before 3pm. otherwise wait another day.the breakfast is warm but unappetizing, little overcooked omelettes and some random meats with at least one being poultry.
I grew up on Long Island and was traveling to Long Island with my toddlers to attend a funeral. The lost was a hard loss on my family and due to COVID and having toddlers I decided to get a hotel close to family that was not overwhelming for my family. The hotel staff was nice and the hotel was presentable. I didnt run into a problem with my stay until I went to take a shower and there was no hot water. I was out of the hotel early and back late and due to towing two toddlers with me it was never a good time to stop and address my concerns with staff. I was at the hotel for 5 days and everyday there was no hot water. The breakfast in the morning was great for an adult but with kids, microwave oatmeal isnt really a toddlers first choice. The room was nice and had plenty of amenities to make the stay comfortable. I dont drink coffee and the K-cup didnt brew only hot water for tea and the lobby didnt have hot water for tea. I would recommend the hotel for location, it does have easy access to the LIE
I called a few days before my stay to ask if the pool was open and I was told it was but upon arrival I was made aware that the pool was closed due to COVID restrictions so I was bummed. Not too much to complain about in terms of the hotel. The bathroom was nice but the tub gave me a dirty vibe if that makes sense, and i felt as if I was going to fall through. However, I don’t like to complain so I just let it be. Nothing else was wrong and overall not much to complain about.
We stayed at this location for 11 days and we will not stay here again. Our biggest issue was the cleanliness of the room. The hotel really needs to upgrade the rooms as everything is outdated. There was a pile of cereal behind one of the beds that was there before we arrived. My husband dropped something and saw it. We brought it to the staff’s attention and it was never cleaned. The bathrooms were not cleaned well at all. One morning we decided to sleep in and at around 8am the cleaning staff woman was on her cellphone on speakerphone speaking very loud. It was so bad I had to go outside and ask her if she could lower her voice. The hot water took several minutes to warm up and we ended up having to switch rooms because it stopped working altogether. Other guests across from us and next door were very loud and were clearly smoking weed. One night I woke up because some idiot tried to open the door that is shared between hotel rooms which scared me. The staff were not very friendly either
This hotel was very easy to get to right off the LIE. The person at the front desk was welcoming and efficient in getting me checked in. My preferences that I set on the IHG app were taken care of. The room was clean however the walls were a bit thin as I was able to hear the person in the next room talking all night. Overall, a good experience as usual with Holiday Inns.
The 1st room was 306 and the crumbs and trash met me at the door. One of the beds appeared as if someone had been laying in it. The counter had sticky substance on it. I changed rooms and to 505 and it was a bit better, but not much better. The room didnt get cleaned as I requested the first time. Their was a booger on the wall. I complained about it to the night shift and after the cleaning it still remained on the wall. The parking had trash from the day I arrived until the day I left, same trash. The custodian used the same gloves that he cleaned and used his broom with to stock coffee lids. And the coffee area where the condiments sat on was filthy with the same stains from the day I arrived. I work in the cleaning field.
Upon arrival the hotel itself smelled like cigarettes. When I entered the room it smelled worst. The carpet smelled like mildew and cigarettes. The bed was comfortable and the staff was friendly. Unfortunately this was something beyond their control. I doubt I would stay there again.
The locking system at this hotel sucks! The managers of this hotel do not take security seriously. The doors to the hotel have a failed locking system which requires constantly obtaining new room keys. This becomes annoying after a while. This is especially bothersome on the weekends when the hotel is totally booked out with parties and problem guests. As a result, if a problem occurs within the hallways you can bet that you might be locked out of your room inadvertently. Not a good place to be in the middle of the night during a fight. Especially if you expect to get to work the following day.
I am overall satisfied with the stay, my only problems is hidden areas like AC vents ,, lamp post etc have dust and no one cares to clean them. Also, the signs warning guests about penalizing them are unnecessary and unwelcoming. Regarding Breakfast it’s like other chain hotels.
Stayed here as part of a large group. Checki in/out was quick. The breakfast, while under COVID protocols, was terrible. We had the breakfast biscuit and English muffins. Both had clearly been sitting around for a while and were hard. I tried to be understanding because of the limitations. The elevator was very slow!!!! That would be my only complaint during normal times.
I’m so disappointed. I was looking forward to staying here. I booked this trip via Expedia for a room with a king bed. I paid in advanced. When I arrived the woman in the front desk gave the booked room to someone else and gave me a double. When I arrived they also said there is no room service, as in no one comes automatically to clean the room or change the towels. After saying this, she said the second day of my stay there would be someone in to do the room. This was not so, when I inquired about room service with a different person after being there for two days, I was told there will be no room service. She said they only do it upon request. I saw two different woman on two separate days clean all the of rooms around the one I was in. I had to change my own trash and ask for new towels. Not something you want to do when you’re on vacation. I won’t book through here again and I won’t tell anyone to use this hotel either. Very disappointed. I should have just stayed home and not pay for such a disappointing stay.. Really not worth the hype with this company. Also I believe there’s dog feces in the stairwell. It’s been there since I arrived and I’m sure it’s going to be there when I leave.I stayed in the Holiday Inn Express in Hauppauge, NY.
Nice clean, but I did found hair in the shower. But I sprayed the place down with Lysol spray even the sheets and wiped all surfaces down with clorox wipes. All was well. I am not a dog lover, dogs being allowed .....I would check next time to make sure no animals. This time it was on me.
We stayed over for the weekend to attend a haunted attraction in the area. We were very pleased with all the amenities that were offered as well as the cleanliness of the rooms and the friendliness of the staff that we experienced. The only small issue was I requested a room with a single king bed and was placed in a room with 2 queen beds. Being a heavier individual I would have been more comfortable with the larger bed. The front desk attendant explained that the way I had booked the room didn’t allow for them to be able to see my room preference and there were no king rooms available for check-in. She was very polite and courteous. This small inconvenience did not ruin our experience and overall we loved our stay, we would recommend it to anyone traveling in the area.
The front desk staff is extremely pleasant an accommodating. The rams are adequate, however, on several occasions the phone in my room wasnt functioning and there were no batteries in the television remote control. In addition, there have been several maintenance issues that I noticed, such as peeing wallpaper, missing tile in the bathroom ceiling, and rust around some of the shower fixtures. There have been times when I could smell smoke coming from another room on the floor where I stayed; perhaps its a good idea to inform your guests at check in that its a non-smoking facility. Lastly, after staying in your hotel for just a few days, I developed a terrible skin fungus (ringworm)that after several months Im still treating. It may be a god idea to review the process that your housekeeping staff uses to launder the linens. I would recommend removing all bed linens, washing them in extremely hot water, vacuuming and flipping the mattresses after each guests stay. Its the only easy to ensure that no one else has to endure this horror.
I have used this location for many years as it is central for my purposes. It has been steadily going down hill. Most of the staff have been very friendly and helpful but there are a few that spoil all the good. This last visit was a disaster as there was no hot water hotel wide on one morning. There was nothing from the management other than a printed letter under my door when I returned for the day.I am a Police Instructor for N.Y. State. My crew and I will be looking for other lodging after all these years..
The room I stayed in appeared to be updated compared to the rest of the hotel. Many pry marks on the room door and many other doors in the hall were not the most comforting sign. Also an odd gap existed in the door latch itself that allowed for movment of the door of about a 1/4 when closed - left me wondering how secure the door was. Definitely used the deadbolt and latch! This hotel is within a stone throw of the interstate and you can hear every bit of the traffic. It did calm down enough after 9:00 PM to get some sleep but wished I had packed some earplugs. Staff was friendly and breakfast was limited to a small number of packaged items due to Covid restrictions. Good enough for a quick stay but price to value is lopsided.
The staff were so nice upon arrival. It was late and I had food delivered for my daughter and I. We ate and then went to go to bed. The air conditioning in our room would not shut off. I turned the heat up to 82 and it would not switch from cooling. When we woke in the morning it was 66 which does not sound cold, but when you have been sleeping all night with a fan blowing it feels pretty chilly. The water pressure did not exist and the shower curtain was broken so it just kept sliding open while you were in the shower. I know we are in covid times, but the bagged breakfast that was provided is a far cry from the usual choices. An apple juice, muffin and fruit cup is not my idea of a breakfast.
There were stains on the carpet, head board, and sheets and towels. When I put my wet towels in the hall the towel guy told me to pick them back up and pile them in my room. They were making my already musty room even mustier. All the grout in the bathroom was missing and there were holes in the wall. The wallpaper was also peeling off the wall. Trying to pour some coffee in the morning was difficult because the manager was sitting at a guest table in front of the coffee pot with his chair blocking the machine.
Some of the front desk personnel were amicable. Others not, the breakfast was below average, one day there were no coffee. The room was never clean during my stay neither the coffee packs added assuming they were consumed. I have no problem in stating couple of days without changing towels and sheet but the customer should be informed.
Clean the place. The outside entrance, Hotel hallway floors and my room floor were very dirty. Hallways looked like they never got vacuumed and cleaned. Small bits of trash and debris were throughout the building. The door to my room has to be slammed in order to lock properly, I sometimes had to try and shut it three or four times to get it to lock, which is a security problem.
I been coming there for over a year and my god the first time I was there a sweet girl name Rebecca was the nicest person I could ever met I had an autistic son and she just made him the happiest child while we were there and I cant thank her enough so I only stay there no other hotel and especially met another amazing girl Kayla at the front desk she is another sweet heart I feel like family when I go there they know our name when we walk in and see the girls and my son just is always happy when he sees them and for an autistic child its hard for them to be happy sometimes but with those two girls hes always excited like I am Im just very lucky to have met these two amazing girls that work so hard and is always happy you dont find that any place else like I said I will never stay anywhere else but my favorite hotel its awesome
The room was nice and exactly like the pics online. When I checked in the staff was kind and courteous. My departure was a little lacking, the hotel advertised free breakfast. However in the entire hotel theres obviously only one person responsible to cook and they called off. so breakfast was not available and no one seems to be capable to stay on top of coffee duty. In a hotel with more than 6 floors I would safely assume that any establishment would have more than one person available to do particular jobs. Things happen and employees call off, I get it. And while I hope that they personally are ok. The holiday inn express or not could have been better prepared.
Because we were accustomed to this chain and enjoyed staying in these facilities in the past, we chose IHG for our Valentines getaway. We phoned ahead to insure breakfast was offered and the pool was open in spite of Covid. We were told a full hot breakfast was being served and the pool was open. Neither answer was true. We would have chosen a different place as there was little else in the area that interested us. The staff was sympathetic and especially kind but not at all helpful indicating they couldnt understand the mix-up and that several other people had been told the same thing. Very Disappointing!!
My husband and I stay at this hotel every few months and have the same experience at every stay. It’s very clean, safe, easy to access, and comfortable. Unfortunately, the cable goes out frequently, which is unfortunate since we spend so much time in the room. Other than that, we’ve been very happy with our stays. Breakfast is up to par with the usual Holiday Inn Express experience (except for cold cinnamon buns), and the staff does a great job keeping the area clean. We’ll definitely continue to stay at this hotel.
I stay here often for work. I was there for 3 days this trip. For the duration, the hotel was dirty, the foyer floors needed to be swept and mopped. The floors of the elevators were dirty and sticky. The A/C was off in the foyer and because of the heat and humidity, it was very uncomfortable during check in. The hallways were closed off by the fire doors and because of this the hallway that I was in was very dim and smelled damp like a wet dog. My room was not cleaned once while I was there. If that is the protocol during COVID 19, that is fine but there should at least be notifications and stations to get clean towels if needed. The breakfast that is part of the cost to stay there was a box of cereal and warm milk that had been setting out in bags at the front desk. Milk should not set out. My shower curtain was broken and there was an excessive amount of hair on the bathroom floor which leads me to believe that it was not cleaned after the last person stayed there. Very disappointed with this stay.
Me and my husband stayed on Valentine’s day for a night alone away form our kids lol. This location is very nice, friendly staff, clean facility and up to date - it was a great stay for the price! Only downer was the mattress; it was super plush. We thought maybe it’s our comfort levels but he’s small and I’m a little bigger and we both woke up with aches. However, we did like the linens! The comforter and pillows were super comfy!
This hotel was convenient for my familys travel plans, but we would not stay here again. Found several strands of hair on the beds. Surfaces were sticky even though there was supposedly deep cleaning down between guests. Stains all over the bathroom wall paper and multiple chips in the bath tub. We actually used clorox wipes on every hard surface before bringing our lugguage in. The hotel was not full, but part way through our stay the staff placed guests into the room next door that had an adjoining door. The door, we discovered, was paper thin. There was partying, screaming, and alot of other sounds that I wish my 7 year old didnt have to hear.
I overall had a good and relaxing time, I felt safe with the 2 forms of locks on the door. The room had plenty of light, was spacious and clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. I wasnt to impress that with all they provided for the bathroom travel size toothpaste was not a part of it. I also wasnt impress that the blackout curtains were only for show, they did not close. I also was not impressed by the fact they did not provide plastic silverware/ paper plates and bowls and/or toothpicks as they do provide a refrigerator and microwave.
The room and beds were comfortable. The hotel provided a refrigerator and microwave but the cleanliness of the room was lacking. The beds seemed cleaned and redone but there were several issues that lead me to believe that the room was not cleaned very well priot to our stay. There was hair and a false eyelash on the sink of our bathroom. There was hair and dirt along the edge of our tub. The bedside table had dried food crumbs and the carpet had crumbs and stains on it.
Overall, this hotel was very clean and the room was comfortable, especially the pillows and bed. Service was very good and attentive. The only thing I wish was available, was a FULL size mirror in the room. Outside of the bathroom area. There were three of us sharing the room. So, once the bathroom was in use, there is no where else to have mirror access, for the rest of us. Otherwise, the room and bathroom was fine. We enjoyed our stay and the comp breakfast was very good - lots on the menu and hot!
I am very disappointed in regards to the block of rooms for my guests stay. One of our guests was given a room that was dirty. There were empty containers around the room with dirt and crumbs left there upon entering. This is diplorable especially during Covid to having guests go into a dirty room. It was embarrassing to me since we blocked these rooms for my daughters wedding guests and for my daughter and now son in law for after wedding. When my daughter and son in law checked out there were no breakfast bags set aside for them which should have been done since staff new that they were there for their honeymoon night. I also left gift bags with Sales manager Julie Nash for guests with specific instructions only to find out from groom that the front desk did not know what to do with bags. He told groom he could take them all for rehersal dinner when in fact they were suppose to be handed to guests upon arrival. We were not have a rehersal dinner. (Matthew was person at front desk) I had to call the front desk to go over it one more time. Julie Nash was very cordial but somehow things went amiss.
Front desk and support staff are great but bathroomWas not clean. I called down asking for bathroom to be cleaned and it never was. The air conditioning unit also wasn’t the strongest leaving the room with a humid smell. It didn’t help that I stayed on one of the hottest weekends of the year. The staff were great in helping us with ashore request on day of my wedding as we prepped to leave and since it was a short stay I didn’t fight the issue. Had it been a less hectic event I would have changed rooms.
This hotel was fine. The elevators took forever and the room we stayed in was the very last room at the hall. It seemed like it was the forgotten room because there were some issues with it. The lock on the door wouldn’t lock properly, the toilet handle to flush was very difficult to press down, the sink handle was hard to turn on, the shower curtain was too short for the curved pole it hung on, there was hair on the ceiling from a previous guest that showered, and the tile in the bathroom felt loose. Would not return to this hotel unfortunately.
The most friendly hotel staff Ive ever dealt with. The breakfast was a pretty good for hotel food but the coffee was terrible lol. The room I stayed in was massive, bigger than they led on. Mine had two rooms, one with a living room and a kitchenette and the other one with a big bed and an even bigger bathroom with a tub. I highly recommend getting this room if you can. I will most definitely be staying again!
I have been staying at this Holiday Inn for work over the last Month a few days a week. We were staying at a different hotel near by . We left work and had dinner at the restaurant attached to this hotel . The Food was great , while their - the Company owner went out to the lobby and bumped into Matt B. and inquired about staying here. Matt could not have been more hospitable and professional. Matt gave us his card , I recall that it said Loyalty Champion How cool is that ! , The Hotel is super clean and bright . We are always greeted with a smile and enthusiasm. Also of note , Dani in the mornings is always cheerful along with always making sure that everything is OK and if we need Coffee etc. Matt and Dani really do a wonderful job of making us feel welcome and cared for while we are away from home and our families.I would Highly recommend staying here. Its always a wonderful experience !
I stay regularly at this hotel. Most staff are very helpful. Two aren’t very interested in customer service. Some rooms smell like smoke (very strong smell), as well as broken bathroom floor tiles. But it’s not horrible. Usually there’s a good breakfast but shortly before the pandemic they decided to stop serving bacon as often. Now it’s only served a couple days each week. Definitely a disappointment. And now due to the pandemic there’s no hot breakfast at all! They give you just a can of fruit in a paper bag. And they’ve stopped their shuttle van. So I’ve limited my time there. Hopefully they can set up a hot breakfast takeout service where guests can simply order what they’d like and come pick it up. And bring back the shuttle van!
We had another good stay. The usual comfortable bed with good linens, good shower, toiletries and towels. The usual noisy guests running in the halls at night but that often seems to happen! Its hard to anticipate how much big groups will eat, but the dining room seemed to run out of food and drinks, etc. No blame falls on the attendants of course, they were very attentive and polite. All the expected amenities were in the room EXCEPT FOR (and Ive mentioned this before) an in-room safe. It isnt convenient to leave valuables at the front desk whenever leaving the room. Please consider adding in-room safes as so many HIEs now have. Also, to future guests, if you are on a high floor and want your room cleaned after housekeeping leaves your floor, let the front desk know. During our stay, there was a minor housekeeping issue which was resolved to my satisfaction. There was also an issue with the printer in the business room not printing the documents I was sending from their computer. The front desk kindly offered to print them for me. Thank you. Please have an IT person remedy the computer/printer issue.
The staff at this facility are wonderful, and the room itself was immaculate and comfortable. For those reasons, I would recommend this property for anyone who finds a stay in this area necessary. However, if you are looking for potable coffee and a generous breakfast selection, this might not be the place for you. Perhaps I have become spoiled with breakfasts at international properties, but this one nonetheless could benefit from being upgraded somewhat. And clearly in the day of good coffee available very readily, something better can be offered here.
My stay was pleasant and the staff was wonderful. The room was clean and the amenities were great, including the pool and the fitness room. I would highly recommend this room for anyone in need of a hotel stay. My only issue would be not being able to use the WiFi with my video game consoles. No in-room wired connection exists. Overall, I still had a great experience. Thank you.
Hotel staff was the best part of the hotel. The young girl who works nights was awesome. The room was okay and you could tell the bedroom area had recently been renovated to give it more of an executive feel. The bathrooms are super old though. Bathtub area had mold in the grout in just a few places and the tiles in the bathroom were loose. I might stay again if they update that as well. :)
In town for a work training, so we had two adjoining rooms. The rooms were nice and spacious. Clean upon arrival. Front desk staff were friendly. We were disappointed that no one came to clean the room after the first night … or even just refresh the supplies (coffee, lotion, empty trash, etc.). Maybe that was because of COVID? No buffet breakfast (understandable due to COVID), but not even sure if there was a way to get some food. The room keys (both) had multiple issues, so we had to keep returned back to the front desk to get a new key for entry. Eventually, they sent a maintenance person who changed the batteries on the door locks. He was friendly and helpful. Overall, a typical Holiday Inn Express - always a solid choice.
We had our guest stay here for our wedding. After our wedding they allowed us to have an after party free of charge. It was great. Ana at the front desk was amazing and helped us. Those are the positive things!Negative is that 2 of our guest saw roaches which is really embarrassing for us. Another guest’s room wasn’t ready and when she walked in nothing was cleaned. Since this was our wedding weekend we were really embarrassed that our guest went through that. The bridal suite also had a weird smell in the room that didn’t really go away even after spraying. We wished there was another hotel near by that didn’t have a 2 night minimum. That’s the reason we went with the holiday inn.
I’d recommend this hotel. MOST of the staff was pleasant. The only complaint that I had was while calling in my reservation they transferred me to the hotel. I spoke to Matthew who must have been very busy because he did not want to talk to me at all. Was very short and ended the call before I could find out the information that I was looking for. I called back and was able to speak with someone more professional. If I had not been told to stay there I would have found another place to stay. Upon arrival Matthew was much more pleasant than over the phone. Oh well we all have bad days guess he has an issue with the phone.
Rooms were very clean. Staff didnt greet when we came in. I had to tell her i was checking in when obviously thats what i was doing. She also didnt tell me price of room or really much of anything. Just handed me room key and said have nice day. She was nice just not social and didnt provide any information.
I have to say that the staff went above and beyond my expectations. I had arranged for the hotel shuttle to pick me up when my flight came into Islip on July 4, however, the flight was severely delayed. THat didnt matter though, the staff sent the shuttle for me anyway and I was so appreciative after a long travel day. Also I was grateful that they put me into a room well away from a big wedding party which was taking place. I am a light sleeper and always request a quiet room. Lastly, the bed linens were superb, I felt like I was sleeping on liquid silk - the best way I can describe it! The towels were wonderfully soft too.
I have stayed at this hotel many times and my overall experience has been good. The beds are extremely comfortable, I stay in many hotels and find the beds at the Holiday Inn Express the most comfortable. The rooms are decorated very nice and the TVs are great the rooms are quiet. However lately, the last two times Ive stayed the breakfast quality is poor the sausages tasted like they were dehydrated for one and the food has a kind of burnt taste to it. I find the staff lately are not helpful a little rude and do not acknowledge being and IHG member. The room that I stayed in this last time none of the amenities were restocked, it was as if the last person who stayed when the room was cleaned the towels werent restocked the coffee wasnt restocked and the shower was not good at all the water pressure was very low
I have stayed here probably 25 times and its a solid location. The staff is attentive, caring and very professional. In particular on this trip the front desk manager was Rebecca who recognized us as Platinum and went out of her way to make my wife and I feel comfortable and accommodated.
Cleanliness was disappointing. The lobby hasnt been cleaned once the entire week I was there on the 3rd floor. The exact same pieces of dirt and filth was still there on Friday. I arrived on Monday. The bed sheets werent changed. Beds were made but my hair was still all over the bed sheets. Breakfast was decent. Staff was very friendly.
Nice clean place. The breakfast was good and nicely set up. However, we had to get new key cards 4 times in 3 days because they stopped working. It was annoying to go up to our room just to have to go back down again 4 times. The people are friendly and I would stay there again even with the key issues.
This met my needs because it was convenient to where I needed to be. My issue was with the parking at this location. The front parking was always filled so i had to park all the way in the back and walk around which was a little sketchy being alone at night. The room and hallway had a funky smell like dirty feet - not strong but there. The toiletries in my bathroom were clearly used and not replaced before i checked in. breakfast was actually good but they often ran out of coffee and it took a while for them to replenish. Other than that it was clean, the beds were comfortable and the staff was nice.
EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT! GREAT SERVICE, CLEAN AND ACCOMMODATING! Only issue was they totally eliminated pool amenities despite the state giving permission by Governor to resume. When I spoke with desk they said there was no way to regulate the use of pool at 33%. I thought by scheduling pool by floor. Most of the floors weren’t at 100% use but if you do a floor at a time span it will be less than 33%
For the most part it was okay except the housekeeping department is lacking cleanliness. Upon arrival, there was hair all in the bathtub and on the floor. Also the commode 4 times stopped working. breakfast was really good, including cheese omelets, Western omelettes, bacon sausage pancakes, Bagels fruit fresh coffee, and assorted muffins. The staff was very friendly and took care of the issues that we had with our room. The beds were comfortable but the rooms were small. The table that was in our room was all wobbly and tilted. Getting to the hotel is not too easy if you dont know your way around the area. Extremely close to the L ie, but we didnt have any issues with loud noise from the expressway.
The pool seemed clean but it is small and it is too shallow for an adult to swim more than a few feet. I was upset that fresh towels are not stored next to the pool. This can and must be corrected. Guests should shower in their rooms for the pool. The lobby looks extremely nice & comfortable. We had issues in the first room that we were given. There were fresh stains on the sheets on both beds & the bottom sheets were wrinkled. I took photos and showed them to the lady at the desk. We were moved from the 2nd floor to the 7th floor. The room was extremely nicely decorated and the bedding (I checked immediately) was completely clean. The beds & linen were extremely comfortable. The TV was outstanding. The hot water was great. The bathroom tiles were cracked, & must be changed immediately. Every room should be given twice the number of cups and hot cups and more coffee and tea in the rooms. The larger mini refrigerator in the room has a small freezer & worked well. There was a microwave that we didnt use. We strongly recommend packing disposable plates, forks & cups, along with bread, sliced deli, cheeses, microwavable meals, soda/orange juice, snacks, & some milk and beer to store in the fridge in case you get hungry. This is an extremely nice hotel and you wont want to leave! We asked for a late check-out as soon as we arrived and we were given a 1pm check-out. We were able to use to pool and the gym for a while after we checked out. Sauna?!
This hotel in this location has always treated me with the upmost kindness there staff is always very accommodating and very polite. Having a home away from home is such a nice thing. The beds are so comfy I have the best sleep when I stay here I don’t even get this food of a sleep when I stay in my own bed ahahha. I really do enjoy staying here!
Enjoyed a good nights rest!Staff was quite hospitable, I even had a brief chat with a Michael Donovan who gave me a warm welcome and greeting during my stay. The front desk with Michelle was very professional. Had Antoine drive us to the Islip Airport and shared his military service as a weekend warrior. So delighted that we had a great visit at your property. We appreciate the facilities and the wonderful service during our stay!
My boy friend is from up state and when he comes we try to always stay at this hotel because its convienent beautiful clean very relaxing. We also have stayed at the stony brook location which i think is also excellent, staff very friendly there too. Love both locations.
Had some business on the Island was told to look at a few options and settled on the Holiday Inn Express at Hauppauge. During the Covid pandemic they were super accommodating. Allowed for early check in, the front desk person was friendly, informative and professional. The room was immaculate and the bathroom facilities were stocked and extremely clean. The bed was so comfortable and a pleasure to sleep on. All in all a great establishment at a wonderful price.
Ive stayed in this hotel plenty of times in the past but its been a while since my last stay. I was pleasantly surprised to see the room updated. The workstation is much better for working - including a better desk and much better chair. The workstation also had plenty of outlets and USB ports. The lighting in the room is excellent as well. Plenty of lights and easy to turn on and off.
My Husband and I were in town unfortunately for wake and funeral services. I felt the price of the hotel was very reasonable. Room and bathroom were clean, modern and spacious. Bed and pillows very comfortable. We both enjoyed breakfast as well. Front desk staff was very friendly and check in/out was quick and easy.
Stayed here for a family wedding. Got here at 6PM and room bathroom was locked. They fixed it within 10 minutes (excellent!!) and we moved in.Room was very clean, staff was very friendly and accomodating. Breakfast is my only issue. Lets figure out a way to offer more than the standard scrambled eggs, OK? You are not alone in my criticism on this. Overall, great value for a clean, comfortable room
We came from Mass on a Baseball Tourny but came early and did some family stuff first. Although the room was clean and neat, the staff of the hotel is what made our trip really nice. All the ladies on the desk were so nice! There were 3 of them during our stay and each and every one was friendly and extremely nice. The gentleman on a few of the evenings was also nice but not as friendly as the ladies. The breakfast was great every day and the woman who stocked and worked the breakfast room every morning was super nice and accomodating. The ladies who cleaned the rooms were all smiles and hellos in the elevators. We had a good week (7 full days) and not a complaint to be had. We were even there during the room key/lock upgrade and it was no big deal. Any tme we needed a new key the ladies smiled and gave us a new one in less than a minute. We had a couple team dinners in the breakfast room and used the public spaces a lot. The pool was a bit small for 13 teen boys, but they had fun just the same. We would definately recommend this hotel to anyone.
Great staff: morning and afternoon front desk, and the lady who does breakfast, always friendly to me. Room was clean, had the accessible room, no complaints. The breakfast was good, I’d only ditch the turkey sausage and make sure the bacon and pork sausage are daily. The turkey sausage didn’t taste right.... shuttle service took me to the airport, no complaints here.
The overall rooms were nice and clean, decent size, comfy mattress. The fitted sheets did not fit the bed, so in the middle of the night I would wake up to fix the sheets. The price I was given for a wedding block was OK, I had a guest book the night of my wedding and they were given a much cheaper rate. I did not like that my guests had to do two night minimum. I believe Ash was the gentleman I dealt with the most during my stay he was excellent! Stephanie who did my hotel block was very sweet.
Arrived at hotel and was not informed there was an ongoing issue with the hot water. Next morning greeted by ice-cold water. Desk clerk stated it was just fixed. Returned to hotel and water was luck warm. I assumed the water was not hot because it was still heating up. Next morning greeted once again by ice-cold water. Front desk clerks had no care in the world. Very lazy staff with the exception of the 2nd shift clerk, younger girl. Not seen any special cleaning at all for covid.....nasty hotel...
During my trip I had a few chances to interact with the front desk staff. Everyone of them were attentive, polite and very professional. Hotel is clean. Parking could be improved. They have some parking spots at the back of the building but during the weekend, it was getting hard to find a parking spot. But overall, I had a great experience.
We spent 6 nights here,I dont have one negative thing to say.Everyone was very accommodating, they went out of their way to be helpful. The shuttle took us several places and even picked us up late from the train station. The guys that drove The shuttle were always so polite and patient. The pool was nice, housekeeping was amazing even though we had to much luggage for our room (which made it cluttered), the ladies always came in and straightened up anyway. Breakfast was always good. Overall it was a pleasure staying here and we will definitely stay at this Holiday inn Express when we visit Long Island again in the near future.
The hotel was clean, but with additional construction due to faulty smoke alarms/detectors it was quite invasive. The breakfast was extensive and the staff was really helpful, but when they ran out of an item it was missing for the following three days which didn’t make sense. The room was extremely clean and well kept, but the air conditioning system did not achieve the requested temperature.
Honestly, one of the most comfortable long term stays Ive had. The staff was awesome! Rebecca always greeted me by name and helped me navigate the cities offering the services the hotel offers to transport you to local train stations and airports. The room was clean. The parking lot is well lit and easy access to the highway. Maintenance staff are warm, accessible, and courteous.
The room was fine and the beds were comfortable. But when only one elevator was working and waits were 5-10 minutes for the car, and staff had to use the elevator with their carts because either there was no service elevator or that elevator was also inoperable, it became very frustrating to move about the hotel. TV reception was poor, and the controls for the A/C-heating unit didnt seem to work. The staff was sympathetic, but it was beyond their capabilities to address these issues. Loved the bowl of wrapped hard candy at the front desk!
I went to this hotel after surgery to be rested. I couldnt fall asleep sleep through out the night due to noises from the LIE. I ended up going to another hotel. When I got to the other hotel, I realized that I left my phone charger on the night stand at the holiday Inn. I called them right away to let them know about my charger. Ive been calling them for the past 5 days after my stay at the hotel. All Ive got is we dont have your charger
Pleasantly surprised !. Hotel was convenient on a nice property. Rooms were clean and the staff was great. The bed was great, the room was quiet. Pool was nice size and Warm !! Fitness room was nice with new equipment. Overall was a very nice experience, and my first at an IHG hotel in a long time. I would stay here again. Although a little pricey on this past weekend as all the hotels in the area were booked solid. Weekday rates were reasonable.
The room was ok, However the hotel itself need to be renovated, the elevator smells like it had some electrical wires short circuited and was so slow. There was no hot water for an entire day. The breakfast was awful. The checkin agent was ok. But the guy in the day was nasty. It was an awful experience
Great hotel experience. First time being in Long Island, it was nice to know I had a safe place go to for the time I was there. Pleasant atmosphere, helpful staff. My room was very clean and comfortable. Theres always access to coffee in the lobby. And 7am - 11am I had a chance to get something to eat for breakfast in the lounge. I would definitely stay at Holiday Inn in the future.
Place should be closed down. Health department needs to get involved. No hot water for three days. The general manager should be ashamed. Lets or encourage the front staff to make up stories about status of water problem that has been ongoing. They are not cleaning and I saw not one sign that they were covid concerned other than masks. No disinfecting observed by me my entire 3 day stay. Terrible hotel
We were there for a funeral. The staff from front desk to cleaning crew were helpful and friendly. The breakfast choices were many & delicious. Comfort points throughout the hotel from lemon water & coffee 24/7 to the comfy furniture and fireplace in the lobby/ breakfast room. Had a great nights sleep. The only down side was the traffic noise from LI Expressway. They need more sound proof windows. Just a suggestion. Loved our stay and will definitely stay there again if we are in the area.
The staff was friendly and attentive, the breakfast variety was good, and the linens and surfaces were clean. The guest washer/dryer is old, and the washer broke down while I was using it. The staff was kind and did their best to see to my needs. The elevator was slow. The a/c unit in my room had a mildew smell. I opened the window the few inches it would open to air out the room, but this did little to help. I would wake with breathing trouble. Left a day early because of this. The bathroom floor looked dirty, but I think it was just worn. This hotel is in need of a number of updates, including faucets (sink faucet was hard to turn on).I hate to complain because the staff and front desk were so helpful and willing to go the extra mile, but the hotel building has things that need attention.
The room was very comfortable, but there were a few other things that could be improved. The continental breakfast was understaffed. Only one person working both days of our stay. Items such as eggs and bacon were completely empty and they were slow to fill them. All of the guests cleared their tables, but I never saw staff wipe them down.Internet connection was a slow 7 mb per second and I had to re-login every half hour. When I asked the front desk about it, they said I could call the internet provider myself and see what they could do.
Easy on and off the highway. good parking. well lit. nice staff.comfy beds and bedding. fluffy towels. clean bathroom. good breakfast. I dont like the TV which is dependent upon the wind conditions. I didnt like the two tip cups in the breakfast area. But it was well stocked and maintained. Expect some traffic noise due to the main highway right there. good blackout curtains.
We have stayed here previously and this time had to stay for 3 nights. A few minor problems. The first two nights housekeeping did not clean the room. Someone came by on the second night after we had returned for the day and asked if our room was cleaned. They finally cleaned it on our last night. The other problem was that the breakfast ran out of a lot of items on Saturday and Sunday.Other than that our stay was fine.
The staff was helpful and friendly. The free shuttle to the LIRRvstation was very accommodating. The beds were comfortable and clean. Water pressure in shower was not the greatest. Pool was decent, I could have had it a touch warmer, but my kids were comfortable. 24 hour coffee was a great benefit and the continental breakfast was excellent with a large variety.
My husband usually goes to this hotel 3 times a month for the last 5 Months straight, I book his rooms for him. Yesterday night I booked a room for the wrong date, The room was suppose to be booked for today. I Called 7 this morning to explain the mix up, They told me that there was absolutely NOTHING they could do. So now I lost $200, have nowhere to stay for the night because that was the last of my funds, PLUS I have now been charged a No Show fee. They do not value their consistent customers, They didnt even offer to comp me a room for the night. I usually do not have issues with this hotel but this has taken a toll on me. I do not recommend this hotel if you are staying here multiple times because you are not valued here AT ALL! They were unable to help me with one mix up. Thats not good customer service skills AT ALL!
This was a 1 night stay as my wife and I were visiting family. Upon our 10pm check-in the hotel was brimming with activity in the breakfast area, and inside and outside the lobby. We were given a 1st floor room, next to the lobby, and quickly decided that it was too noisy to get a good night sleep. We moved to a 2nd floor room, but this did not resolve the problem. Around 11pm we call the front desk asking to address the situation. The situation was not resolved, it continued until 2am. This was not what we expected from Holiday Inn. Upon check-out we shared the experience with a General Manager. Although we were compensated with reward points, we would not likely stay at this hotel again.
Arriving at the hotel our expectations were high apparently. The hotel has a good exterior appearance, so we assumed it would be a good stay. We had a total of 3 rooms of family. Our room had half the tv channels until 2nd day, tub had a mold ring around it and we did not get hand towels and only 1 wash cloth 2 of the 3 days. Our daughters room had no air conditioning when she arrived, so they gave her 2 fans and told her she would need to deal w/ that till the following day because they had no other rooms available. Well, thanks to my husband and his relentlessness he let them know that this was unacceptable. Amazingly they were able to come up w/ another room. Our 3rd family room was ok but, was not stocked w towels... as it should of been. We plan to take this hotel off our list of stays.
Everything was great from start to finish, the hotel is clean and well cared for, the pool and fitness center where well maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was fresh and had a nice variety the offerings changed daily, and they have a fresh coffee bar available all day as well.
We traveled from out of state for a funeral. We checked into our room, completely unpacked and then heard like someone was in the shower. The ceiling was leaking in the shower and looked like it was ready to collapse in one area. Thankfully one of us was not in the shower when this happened. By the time we were moved to another room we were almost late for the wake. The new room had a worn & dirty carpet, the refrigerator had red sticky liquid down the inside door, the shower curtain was ripped and this ceiling was also patched. Our experience at this hotel did not offer us any comfort or relaxation during our time of loss. I would not stay here again.
I frequent this hotel and many others in the area for work events. This hotel has definitely improved over the last two years as it has undergone renovations and the rooms are much nicer and modern. The breakfast is good and the staff are polite. Most of my complaints are with minor things that dont really impact my stay very negatively. For example, the elevators have yet to be renovated and look very dated, have a weird smell, and there are engravings/graffiti on the doors - the rest of the hotel is not like this, there is very noticeable effort in trying to make this hotel better, so I can look past this. Parking is pretty accessible, during one of my stays, I came out to a big dent in my rental car.. This wasnt at fault of the hotel though, just an unfortunate incident. Overall, this places is an okay place to stay in comparison to others in the area. Theyre are definitely better and worse, but for what you pay, its pretty much what you would expect here.
I booked for a room with double beds. Upon check-in I was given a king. I was told they would bring a roll-a-way bed to the room that evening. I arrived back to the hotel around 1am to no bed and no front desk staff. It was brought the next morning and the chair was a better option than the bed. Also the tub did not drain properly. Water got ankle deep when showering.
My two nights stay was good. Hotel is located near a highway, the noise from the highway was somewhat disturbing. The breakfast was excellent, and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom could be a bit cleaner. Frond desk clerk was very friendly. Free hotel shuttle service. But the driver do not help with your bags, shuttle was unkept inside I will recommend this hotel.
Stayed two nights, first night was the day before my wedding and they were gracious enough to allow me to upgrade to the bridal suite for my wedding night last minute. I didn’t have to worry about my stuff in the first room as they allowed me to get it after my wedding and move to bridal suite. No hiccups or issues.
Thank you to the staff for a lovely stay. My family and I were able to relax in our hotel room and the kids got to enjoy swimming in the pool. Also we enjoyed the spread of available breakfast, with coffee readily available and pancakes to eat at a press of a button. Thanks again; we will choose to stay here again if we ever need a hotel in the area.
Only one elevator worked and the hotel was completely full. Like 3 wedding parties and baseball playoffs and numerous other groups. It was a madhouse. Impossible to get an elevator. Housekeeping did not clean our room one of those days. Said they ran out of time trying to get the rooms cleaned of expectant guests. TV didnt work properly. Breakfast was also crazy. Too many people trying to eat and not enough tables and chairs. Would not recommend.
Overall, this was a very nice hotel for the price. I have no complaints. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They explained to these country bumpkins how to get in the city, shuttled us to the train and picked us up on our return. The entire staff were so helpful and friendly. I would stay there again. The location was based on where my grandson was visiting from the west coast and it was perfect distance to city and a lot of great shopping and activities. We would love to come back in warmer weather to enjoy the area more. Holiday Inn never disappoints. I grew up with Holiday Inn traveling with my parents and enjoy giving my daughter the same experience.
Despite being in the middle of renovations -- slated for completion in April 2016 -- the Holiday Inn Express, Hauppauge, was good value and provided us with a comfortable base while visiting Long Island over the winter. As always, the staff was excellent -- from the front desk to the breakfast crew to the cleaning people. Ask for anything reasonable, and they go out of their way to provide it for you. The only reason I did not rate the food highly (which I would normally do) is that during our stay there was no hot breakfast, due to the renovations. However, the staff had made accommodations to provide hot morning meals the day after we left so that should not be an issue for those planning a stay now!Even then, this hotel continued to provide hot coffee around the clock and its afternoon chocolate chip cookies, which delighted my daughter. It contained the work on the great room/dining area so guests were not really inconvenienced and we did not suffer from any noise. We cannot wait to see the improvements when we return in a few months. Im sure its well worth all the hard work!
This hotel needs complete renovation. Rundown place with the bad smelling room and dirty bathroom. First shuttle leaves this place at 8AM which is pretty bad for the hotel that is situated near the airport.Cigarette butts are on the ground around the front entrance. Overall impression is not much different than the one you would have if you stay at motel six on the side of the road. Most of Holiday Inns are being remodeled and look very good offering a good stay experience. This particular place takes you back to HI 15 years ago.
Will never stay here again. Stayed here for the heated pool for my son who has autism and loves swimming. He does not like going in cold pools, however. Pool was cold. I asked several times if they could turn the heat up, but it never got warmer. I basically paid to sit in room. Might as well have stayed home since I live 15 minutes away. When I asked for my money back, I was told by the manager I should find a hotel with a hot tub to accommodate my son. Real nice way to treat individuals with disabilities. This is after I have stayed here many times and spent plenty of money at this hotel in the past. Well, guess what? I did find another hotel with a warm pool, and its not a hot tub. Shame on them for not trying to accommodate a guest, especially one with a disability. Life is tough enough for him being non-verbal, etc and just one night with a warm pool is all he wanted, and they didnt deliver and had an attitude about it.
I had a booked a double room using ihg points for a family get together. When we got there they gave us a single room with a king size bed for 2 adults and 2 children. When I complained I was told the hotel was booked with people and sports teams and that as part of using points, we werent guaranteed what we booked, which I had never heard before. The assistant manager Kaitlyn offered to bring a hideaway bed into our small room and comp us 10,000 points. I didnt take her up on that and we managed with the king size for one night. They then moved us to a double room for the second night, which was much better. They moved our luggage for us and everything. Kaitlyn also comped us 25,000 points in the end, which we were very appreciative of. Breakfast had a lot of choices, I cant say the hot food was the best, but for no extra money it worked, and my 5 year old really enjoyed the pancake machine, lol. The hotel was relatively clean, and very easy to access. Overall, a nice, fun stay. Thank you Kaitlyn.
This was a good place to stay for a night or two if in the area. It is not possible to walk anywhere since it is on a highway--but this was good for us since we were on LI for a wedding several miles away. The hotel and room were very clean. I thought the reception area was very nice, and there was cold water with lemon available--a nice treat after our long drive! Very friendly and efficient front desk staff. The room was spacious and had a coffee maker and refrigerator--always a plus! The only true negative really was the shower curtain in the bathroom which would not stay closed and so tons of water ended up on the floor after our showers--we had to sacrifice a towel to mop it up!The bed was a king and it was comfortable enough, but the mattress felt like it was getting toward the end of its life--either that or it wasnt super comfortable to begin with, nor were the pillows anything luxurious. Overall, however, we were very happy with our stay. It was convenient and reasonably priced.
1. It said nonsmoking room, it has no water sprinklers in the ceiling. Not only that, guests before us apparently smoked some cigar and it stinks up the room.2. The jacuzzi was filthy. It was not cleaned.3. The refrigerator wasn’t working. It was plugged in, but not running.4. The bed is very firm. Woke up with backaches. 5. Recommend guests to stay somewhere else.
Stayed there the day after Christmas to the day before New Years Eve. It was very clean, room was comfortable and all the accommodations were great. Very friendly staff. The breakfast was a little on the scarce side as many of the selections were out or unavailable, but still enough to fill up on. Overall a great place to stay and will definitely look to book there again!
The stay was great! The staff was great for the most part and very helpful, I only had one issue when speaking to a member of housekeeping who cleaned my room even though I asked not to (Im assuming there was a bit of a language barrier even though she seemed to understand the request at the time). Overall great experience.
Great hotel, beautiful room. Greeted warmly at time of check in. Room was easy to locate. Excellent internet service, love the big screen tv. Beautiful bathroom. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner was located on shower wall. Very easy to dispense. Climate control easy to operate. Relaxing bed various pillows to choose from. Breakfast was great. Coffee was excellent. Complimentary news paper available.
Recently stayed at this hotel for a few days. Pretty uncleanly bathroom and room. Shower had lots of soap scum and felt very dirty. Shower curtain was dirty. Both beds in the room had dirty sheets and curtains of the room were dirty.I opened the coffee maker to make some tea and there was an old Keurig cup in it and a disgusting looking residue on it. Housekeeping needs to be improved, I would understand the coffee maker thing to some degree. But dirty sheets? That is not acceptable. When confronting staff on the matter, some seemed to take responsibility, however I felt like the environment was, Lets just get them out of here. In a hotel the comfort of the guest should be a priority and when you complain you shouldnt have to feel like you are getting joked about or bad mouthed.Furthermore, I feel like the hotel operates quite inefficiently. You dont get a paper describing the pool, gym, or breakfast hours in your room. (At least in my case). I had to call or go into the elevator to find out these hours. I would suggest giving this information in the room.Lastly, I would suggest a retraining of housekeeping staff and making sure that they are doing their best job. Have more frequent staff training and test housekeeping staff. It is quite unacceptable to see trash sit in hallways for hours and for there to be dirty sheets. More needs to be done at this hotel.
Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Accommodations such as room size and facilities was nice. Breakfast was sub par. They didnt have apple juice and few choices for anything other than eggs and sausage. What I wish was improved was time it took for the cleaning staff to finish up. If youre at the right end of the hallway your room is nice and clean for you by 9am but the other end has to wait until nearly 5 in the afternoon. Will probably check out somewhere else next time.
This hotel is perfect for a short and long term stays, staff are very nice and they try to go above and beyond. Hotel management is a different story, After several issues with the bathroom towels and amenities, I spoke to several house keepers and I was told that the Hotel Manager does not provide the staff with all of the tools for them to do there job affectively. I stayed I this hotel several times through out the year. I give this hotel a 4/5 overall!
Upon my arrival to the hotel , I was automatically greeted by the front desk person. He was very informative about the services that are provided, and was knowledgeable about the surrounding neighborhood area. The staff member in charge of breakfast was the best. She made sure their were no food shortages, kept the area clean and was very courteous
We had to stay here for a few days due to a out of state move. The hotel experience was a great one. No complaints at all. Clean, friendly staff, room accommodations were excellent, as was the tv and bathroom. Breakfast was delicious, a great variety. I would definitely stay there again and recommend to all.
The staff at every Holiday Inn I have stayed at have always been very helpful and nice, which is one reason I like staying there. This particular location is newly renovated and the room/lobby are really nice and clean, but renovations are still ongoing ,so some things like the pool, fitness room and laundry are not available, which should be made known to prospective guest. Also they have stopped offering smoking rooms due to the renovations, which it still says on the website are available , ,and that was one reason I had booked this hotel, so I was disappointed. to be told when I got there that I would have to go outside to smoke, Bed was very comfortable, but there are only sheer curtains on the window, so although privacy was not an issue for me since I was on the 7th floor, it could be for guests on lower floors, and I didnt appreciate being woken up by the sun at 6:30 am.
Making the Reservations directly with this facility was exceptional . The Checking in process was good. Not sure if I was acknowledged as a IHG Rewards Member .The Room and bed was very Comfortable the first night , I booked Two Nights . ( I was there for a Wedding. ) The following day I removed The Do not disturb / I’m busy sign from the door when I left for The Wedding at 2:50 PM , When I returned at 11 PM MY Room was not cleaned , Bed not made , Towels not changed . Room obviously not cleaned. . I notified The Front Desk . Only to be told Housekeeping left at 3Pm . I was asked what would I like them to do. ? I told them I would like my room cleaned . Only to be told There weren’t any Housekeeping staff available . At this point . I had no choice but to make my own bed . I did call for and received clean towels . I reported my dissatisfaction to The Manager the following morning. at checkout . She was very Apologetic and promised to address the issue .
This hotel meets all the basic needs of a hotel. It could use better maintenance of the bathrooms in the rooms. It was clean enough. But you can tell the maids dont always do everything they are supposed to do. Good breakfast. I did check extensively for bed bugs in our room when I stayed for Thanksgiving. None in found!
We stayed for for 2 nights while in town for a wedding. It was a great experience, we love the Holiday Inn and stay in pretty much every time we go on a vacation. Breakfast was delicious and the room was nice and clean and cozy. Grout in tub needs replacing due to stains, but everything else was in wonderful shape. Thanks for a good time!
Staff was polite, outside of that:Extremely dirty throughout, if my family was with we would’ve found another hotel as I would not let my daughter in this place. Breakfast: if they had breakfast options available they were of decent quality; however, they ran out often and there were extreme delays prior to more product being brought out. Many days product was not replenished within the time I had to eat breakfast. I did not use the pool, nor did I see anyone else and my guess is it was due to how dirty the area seemed.
Staff at the desk was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Bed and pillows were just right. As you enter, the main lobby has a funky smell like this maybe was formerly a property that allowed smoking. The room and the air conditioning unit smelled very fresh and clean though. Nice hotel.
Enjoyed our stay. Ease of access from I 495. Clean, well maintained rooms. Spacious breakfast area, however there is room for improvement in breakfast menu by adding whole wheat toasts, boiled eggs etc. Needs better quality bread toaster as it takes long to stand by the toaster. Helpful staff. Nice fitness room. Over all nice place. Would love to come back.
When we arrived, there were dirty paper cups on the chek-in counter. We were not greeted by the gentlemen behind the counter. We were told a king bed, which we had reserved, was unavailable and asked if we would settle for 2 queen-sized beds. What choice did we have? The unfriendly guy behind the counter gave us the key to our room. The elevator had trash on the floor. When we arrived at our room, it had not been made up, with unmade beds, trash, etc. Had to go back down to the lobby and were given another room. There was no soap in the shower or by the sink. We had to track down the cleaning crew to get some. The bathroom counter was sticky and there were only 3 tissues in the tissue box. The pillows were the most uncomfortable Ive ever seen and the beds were super soft. Went downstairs to get a cup of tea, but they were out of cups. Breakfast, on the other hand, was great.
Weve stayed here a few times now while visiting fAmily in the area. This trip was awful. Bathroom was not cleaned upon arrival. Told the front desk about it And they cleaned it. Then upon return, the bathtub had backed up. With a two year old and at nearly 11 pm, we were forced to change rooms. Once in our new room, we were greeted with a broken table, no bathroom toiletries, and actual nose secretions on the head board. Very displeased. Breakfast was the only bonus.

2022-05-12I have been traveling more frequently and try to stay at Holiday Inns. This decision is based off of my confidence in Holiday Inn. I am able to comfortably stay at a hotel with the cleanliness and amenities within my budget. Unfortunately my past 3 stays made me feel that the brand’s customer service is not of importance to the company. I had to travel to Long Island recently and this branch was everything I think of when staying at a hotel. The room was immaculately cleaned, my bed was a cloud, the decor is updated, the woman who checked me in was professional and seemed happy to meet us and the breakfast was hot, fresh and delicious 😋

2022-05-23From the booking process to the check out process, everything went smoothly! Customer service was excellent! I booked the room the day of and was able to get a double queen room for a pretty decent price, considering all other hotels in the area were booked! Check in starts at 3PM, I didn’t make it to the hotel until 7/8ish PM but the wonderful receptionist did give me a call to make sure I was going to make it, and reassured me that my reservation was secure (I hadn’t paid yet, did the whole pay at location option). Housekeeping had done a good job with cleaning the room and restocking! As you can tell from pictures, there was enough parking (they had more in back), views weren’t anything special but decent for a hotel right off the highway. Overall had a good stay!

2022-05-04The desk attendant who checked us in kept talking to her coworker in Spanish while checking us in. Stayed for 5 nights room was only cleaned the first morning and the fourth day. Called front desk to advise them that our room had not been cleaned for 2 days. They sent up clean towels and assured us that our room would be cleaned the following day. Had to empty our own garbages. Note slipped under the door advising that the room would only be cleaned the following day if we requested it. Called front desk and the lady said we had been added to list already because the room was not cleaned for two days. The next day room was not cleaned. Went to the front desk who advised that they were not aware that we had requested that the room be cleaned. Breakfast was good. Requested a wake up call for day of departure that was not received

2021-11-29Hotel staff was very accommodating and polite. The accommodations were a good value for the money however rooms were not vacuumed all week. Eddsworld changed bathrooms and towels with cleaned daily with ample supply of products they offer. They need to upgrade the quality of the fruits available for breakfast. Having a waffle maker would be much better than frozen waffles. All in all I would definitely stay there again it was very pleasant experience the employees were extremely accommodating.

2021-11-16This hotel sits back from any main area of congregation but is close to the highway. The room I was in overlooked the highway but I could not hear any traffic and the area was quiet. My room was also right next to the elevator and I only heard people at one point walking and talking down the hall in the middle of the night. Overall super quiet. The staff was very attentive and helped out when needed. The breakfast could have been better, but what does one expect for a free breakfast. The eggs were on the nasty side, the bacon was the saltiest thing I ever put in my mouth. I only ate the free breakfast one out of two days. Overall I enjoyed the hotel and would stay there again.

2022-05-08Ive already mentioned the troublesome part of my stay above. I would just like to add that I stay at this hotel twice a year and have done so for at least 15 years and the issue of poorly insulated rooms was a new experience. But I also want to add that because I left at 4:30 am there was no breakfast ready. Thus I cannot rate the meal. Please dont make my no response as a negative.

2022-01-17This place is awesome! Holiday inn Express for life! They have the continental breakfast figured out! The fact that I dont have to wake up in the morning and leave to go find food is amazing! And they are not cheap about it! Full buffet! Awesome food! awesome coffee! Great job!

2022-04-10We cannot recommend this hotel. Be aware that the hotel might change your booking like it did with our company. If you book through a third party like Priceline, the hotel has to approve the booking and from the moment the hotel confirms the room/ rooms you have booked, those should remain the same you booked. We found an incompetent and unprepared staff. The manager, the assistant manager were incapable of solving the issue. Our company booked 4 rooms. Each room with n. 2 queen beds as per our agreement with our employees. The hotel change the booking without notifying us and switched the rooms with king beds generating disappointment among our employees and complain to our company. The Hotel assistant manager promised us to have all the couch beds done but when we arrived in the rooms few hours later none of the couches had sheets and was prepared. One of our employee called the reception and they gave him the sheets at 11 pm at night telling us to prepare it himself. The other employees slept on kings beds and were not happy. This reflects one more time a very unprofessional and untrained staff. It is gives bad reputation the the Holiday Inn Express chain and lower the quality of service. We do not recommend this hotel to anyone and we will We cannot recommend this hotel. Be aware that the hotel might change your booking like it did with our company. 2022-03-26Staff were all very pleasant, helpful & friendly. A special thank you to Julie for giving us a locked in nightly rate for the longevity of our stay due to work. The hotel did not make us move out for 24 hours after 7-21 days as all others in the area were requiring this. My husband & myself greatly appreciated our stay with you.
