Good location and friendly staff. The rooms were really small but clean enough. You could hear the elevator whine from the room and there was some sort of emergency light that never stopped flashing which is frustrating when you’re trying to sleep. The air conditioning didn’t work properly but we over all enjoyed the stay.
Positive: Great location in midtown near Empire State Building. Easy check in and room was clean and bed was comfortable. Negative: Room amenities were dated - no USB ports and clock had an iPhone charger from 10 years ago. Quality of breakfast items was low, but there was plenty of choice.
This is a hotel close to almost everything you could want in nyc! Rooms are good sized for NYC, and staff was helpful to try to accommodate any request we had for early check in, late check out, etc. Breakfast could get crowded (and most choices were prepackaged, carb-heavy options), but I did appreciate the boiled eggs and yogurts in the fridge. We ended up taking breakfast to our room most mornings, which was fine, as we enjoyed looking out the windows at the Empire State Building. I’d definitely stay here again,
Honestly, it was a bit of a mad house during our stay. The water was shut off for maintenance, but they ended up breaking something in the process so it was off all day. The elevators were programmed incorrectly so only one was working at a time. They did provide water bottles though and a credit for the room issues, so they made it right in ny book. The beds were comfy, the breakfast was great, and my favorite happy surprise was the heated floors in the bathroom. Still only giving 4 stars though because up until the night manager was in, all of the staff was very short with us, and we werent even one of the people screaming and shouting about the issues. I used to work in the service industry and try to be very understanding so was put off by how unaccommodating they were during the call ahead, check in, maintenance update requests, etc.
The Hotel is centrally located and very close to the subway. The rooms are clean and we had very little street noise on an upper floor. We had a City view which allowed us to see the Empire State Building light show at night. The front desk staff was very helpful by allowing us to check in an hour early. They also provided directions and other helpful information about the area, the breakfast is your average hotel breakfast of cereal, fruit (apples, bananas) cinnamon rolls, and some hot items. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would book this hotel again.
I have to admit that this hotel is by far one of the best out there. Extremely convenient if you want to go shopping for family, friends or kids. We were treated by the front desk “Sharon” like no other. Her customer service was by far the best. Her demeanor & personality it’s what makes customers want to come back and stay here every time !!! Thank you Sharon for making this a wonderful experience for our whole corporate TEAM!!! 👍
The room was very clean and so was thebathroom. The staff were lovely and the breakfast choice was incredible. We accidentally booked for 4 nights when we needed another night and the staff sorted it out quickly and let us stay in the same room. They also kept our suitcases for us on the last day after checkout so we could have a day out without the suitcases.
It was clean and I think we had the best view in the entire hotel. We were on the 19th floor and saw the Empire State building right from our window. Staff was great and everything we wanted to see was within walking distance. The bathroom was a bit small and the breakfast could’ve been a little better but other than that it was the perfect stay for our weekend in New York City.
Like the average Holiday Inn Express, good choice. I was with 4 friends, room was bigger then I expected. Clean, housekeeping on request was perfect, friendly staff. Breakfast was more then we tought (eggs, bacon, toast, bagels, coffee/tea/juices, fruit, yoghurt, cinnamon rolls etc.) Perfect location, multiple dining options nearby (also Starbucks, Taco Bell, Irish Pub etc.), Macys also around the corner. Subway at 34th street (2 blocks away, 5 min. walk) has also great connections. Times Square was like 10/15 min. walking. A great choice for your stay in New York!
Great location..rooms pretty big for Manhattan..Clean and with proper amenities..Place dint feel secure as main doors were not secured after hours and lifts were not key card accessible so any one can reach your room..Breakfast was highly mismanage..any one could walk in and have breakfast...
Location was excellent! While the room I stayed in was on the smaller side for my family of 3 due to the beds being only a double and were used to King sized beds at home, the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was continental but decent for what it was. Location was easy to get to the subway and area was safe. Tiffany at the front desk was very nice and accommodating. She went above and beyond and made our stay as comfortable as possible. She was very customer service minded and what all people in the hotel industry should strive for. Kudos to her!
We arrived with two different reservations and at the receptiin there was no any issue to accommodate our request not to be moved in another room for the second part of our stay. The payment was smooth, unlike the previous times when there was a double charge on my credit card. This was the best news because the double charge was the main reason for not choosing this hotel a couple of times before (the bank was always releasing the advanced payment debited for the reservation but yet, only after two weeks). Everything else exceeded the expectations: breakfast, cleanness, printing facilities, etc.
We stayed 2 nights for a weekend getaway. Check-in took about 2 minutes. They do make you sign a damage and occupancy form. Seems like only allowing 2 or 4 people per room is very important to them. So if youre a family with an extra kid or two this may not work for you. The commute from LaGuardia on transit is very easy to this hotel. You take the Q70 bus from LaGuardia to a metro station and then one subway train to just around the corner from this hotel. $2.75 per person, and no hassle of switching trains, about 1 hr total travel time. Lyft wanted $75 for the same trip. And the subway line will take you to Central Park, the 9/11 Memorial, and Coney Island all from that one Station. Breakfast had a good selection of foods, hot and cold. And granola bars and cinnamon rolls to take on the go. The water pressure in the shower was amazing! The room was clean. The staff were helpful. Really my biggest issue was no mini fridge in the room. But overall a great weekend hotel.
This place is fantastic. Great location, friendly staff, decent complimentary breakfast, very affordable and most if not all the amenities you would need (ironing board/iron, hairdryer, gym, etc.) they also offer text services so all you have to do is text if you have questions or requests. I made the mistake of paying more to stay at a place that was maybe a little nicer decorated but everything else about it was worse. Will definitely be staying here for future NYC trips. Thanks for the great service!
Staff was accommodating and respectful upon arrival, helped us get checked in early so we could sight see. When we returned we were able to see more what the room was, even for one night we hoped to have a bit better cleanliness in the bathroom. Although small, it is NY and an older building the maintenance of the facility could be a bit better. Shower door leaked into the bathroom and carpet of the room, ventilation of the fan did little to exhaust the moisture.. Black mold underneath the wallpaper that was peeling up and mold on the floor in the joints that had not been addressed.
The hotel had a fantastic view and the room was very comfortable. The breakfast spread had ample options from to choose from. They did make sure to keep customers safe and comfortable. Overall the hospitality of the staff was also great and welcoming. A 5 on 5 for this hotel and would recommend people to travel to this specific hotel when visiting New York. Also because all the major attractions are close by and the hotel is conveniently located near a subway station and bus stop.
They cancelled my reservation just a day before arrival because they tried to charge me for the whole stay and my bank declined the payment as it was considered a suspicious transaction. When I tried to restore the reservation with the same price we agreed on before, I was told it was not possible and I had to look for another hotel.
The room was big enough for two people to be comfortable. The bathroom was clean and bright. There was central air/heat. The location was great! Close to the subway to get anywhere you want to go! There was a good variety of breakfast items to choose from. I would highly recommend this hotel!
Positive: Location is near everything, room size was decent considering costs. Staff was helpful, polite and prompt with all requests. Everything was clean, room was set up with enough room to have a place to get ready in the morning, and hang up ironed clothes Negative: The shower door didnt close all the way so the bathroom floor was soaked after showers, the bed was springy and kind of hurt after a bit, the cable was spotty and would go out..but these were all minor issues
Overall the hotel was decent. Small, no fridge or microwave, we didn’t have any food options (we are vegan, every choice had dairy or meat). Our toilet ran all night, and we froze until we figured out how to work the thermostat. Overall, the room was clean, price and location were excellent. Staff was very friendly. I’d still recommend it.
Lots of updated features and amenities, and the staff was superb! We didnt wait for service for longer than 3 min, and they were incredibly helpful and accommodating. The guest rooms were small, but given the compact area they had to work with, it was a tremendous use of space. The shower door was hard to open and close due to the bottom seal, and the bathroom lighting was horrible. Parking in one of the garages across the street was $51/day with no in/out. Lots of stuff within walking distance. Near Times Square, Empire State, NYU, restaurants, shopping, and more. We had a good time and enjoyed our stay. New Yorkers are friendly people.
The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was nice. Early check-in was easy. However there was a wet spot on the toilet paper (must be from a careless cleaning staff?) There were holes and rips in the bath towels and dirty laundry was left outside our door the entire time. We slept really well and the room was overall clean. Would give an excellent review if it werent for the towels.
Perfect room for the price down near Time Square. Everything is within walking distance and the staff is extremely helpful. When I got here they allowed me to check in early and the front desk made me feel welcome and told me the popular places to eat. I highly recommend staying here. The room was very clean and although my room didnt have a great view it was quiet and exactly what I needed.
Overall, had an okay experience at this Holiday Inn Express. I was very grateful for the 24 hour manning of the front desk since I flew into the City past midnight. Check in and check out were a breeze, and liked the complimentary 2 bottles of water. Was explained by the staff housekeeping is done every 3 days due to COVID-19 mitigation, which I understand. This is where I was very unimpressed though. I didn’t get housekeeping till the 6th day of my 9 day stay. I had to continually ask the front desk on the 4th, 5th, and finally on the 3rd attempt on the 6th day of my 9 day stay at this hotel, did they finally start to pay attention to my room. The room itself was very clean and presentable when I first entered. I do have one recommendation for the specific room though, room 1001. Please have the toilet seat actually fit the shape of the toilet bowl. The toilet bowl is of oval shape, but the toilet seat was a circular shape. It was very uncomfortable and nervous while sitting on it. Also, while working out in the fitness center in the basement, I noticed that the treadmills and pedal stationary bikes make more noise and aren’t as stable than usual. May I ask you for your own situational awareness, when was the last time these pieces of equipment were professional serviced. I recommend to change the yoga mats because they are past their lifetime. Everything else in the room, like the bed, sheets, pillows, shower, and sink were of good standing.I had no complaints on the breakfast options. I just am curious why there was only a meat option only on Sundays.I will be staying at this same hotel again from the 24th till the 29th of September. I’ll see y’all again soon!
We were able to check in early which was a huge plus. Staff was very nice. Room was clean. Furniture in the rooms is very worn and dated. No remote for the tv, only two towels in the bathroom. We did NOT call the front desk about either. I’d stay here again, price was right, location was great.
The staff was mostly kind and friendly. They were the best part of my stay. The phones in our room didnt work. I called the front desk to fix it (using my cell phone) but they were never fixed. There were cigarette burns on the walls and ceiling of the bathroom, and the heater didnt work well; it would not regulate the heat. Also, although the channel guide in the room listed up to channel 70, the TV actually only got up to channel 50. Many of the channel signals between 1-50 were out and there were no channels after 50. I told the receptionist this on our last day and she seemed not to believe me. I didnt ask for any kind of refund, I just thought she should know. That was the only negative encounter I had with a member of the staff. She had a look of doubt on her face as if I were making everything up. I think all of these issues should be addressed and it wouldnt hurt to modernize or do a few renovations to freshen up the overall look of the rooms, and you guys may want to replace the mattresses because they arent comfortable at all.
I’ve stayed at many holiday inns. This was was my first time in NY. Checked in not bad.Air conditioner didn’t work very well in the room. Wasn’t recognized as a platinum elite member. Asked hotel clerk for directions to a restaurant she had no clue. Breakfast in the morning was very slim pickings. Everything was cold, when people finished eating no one wiped the tables down. I was pretty disappointed being in NY city I would have thought sanitizing would be a priority but apparently not.
I had a wonderful two nights stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly, the room was clean and comfortable and the location was great, close to Times Square and the Empire State Building. I had a room on floor 17 on the east side away from the entrance and the street and had an incredible view of the Empire State Building. Breakfast is included and I found it to be adequate. Overall was very pleased with my stay here and would choose to stay here again.
My son I recently visited Manhattan to do some sightseeing. He had never been to the city before and we wanted to see as much as possible in our 2 days there. The staff at Holiday Inn Express Manhattan Times Square South on 26th were courteous and helpful. However, upon opening the door to our room, we were confronted with the strong smell of cigarette smoke. Because we were on a tight schedule, we decided we didnt have time to request a new room and decided to put up with the smell for the short time we were spending in our room during our stay. If we had more time, we definitely would have requested a new room. The beds were comfortable and the staff at breakfast were courteous kept the food well stocked. The breakfast was mediocre and would have benefited from a better selection of condiments. I probably wont be staying in the vicinity of Times Square on my future visits to NYC. I was especially turned off my the Weed trucks that have popped up in the area and I noticed more trash than I remembered from my past visits to the area.
Great location. A short walk to Korean Town for food. Close to Time square. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good. No onsite parking, however there are parking garages across street. Some loud conversation in early morning thatll affect sleeping from second floor room. Overall a great place to stay.
The staff were very attentive and helpful, but the room leaves a lot to be desired. Three different counter spaces in the room had visible dust when we arrived, the room felt musty and smelled stale, the shower leaked out the side, and the shampoo dispenser was broken. Lots of visible updates needed to the room. Breakfast options were very limited compared with other IHG properties Ive stayed at in the past decade. Good location and staff kept this from being the lowest rating, but I would not return as is.
Its my go-to hotel when in NYC. The only issues I have are that theres no fridge in the room, and the bed is not the most comfortable. The staff is very friendly, the hotel is consistently clean, and I get a great deal here. If the bed was better and I had a fridge, this would be the only hotel I used in NYC.
Most of my stays away from home has been in a Holiday Inn establishment and so far this also did okay.Bathroom was functional with no problems, bed was comfortable, room was okay but did not have a fridge which I found odd as every other one I had been to had a fridge, some even had a microwave. So that was a minus for me.Another minus was the breakfast. Of all the places I had been to this had the worst breakfast layout. For 4 mornings in a row all that was there to eat was boiled eggs. Only once were there sausages. No variety of boiled or fried eggs; that happened only once too. No biscuits and gravy or hash browns or bacon. At least the breakfast area was kept clean.Staff at the reception desk were helpful and kind.Nothing has beat my first Holiday Inn stay. It’s sad to say that with each time I stay at one the experience is always of a poorer quality than the last. It’s worse in the cities. Please do your best to improve and don’t keep using the pandemic as an excuse.Thank you.
Overall hotel was clean and nice. No fridge in the room is a real negative. Also, if offering text messaging as a way of communicating with hotel staff then it shouldn’t take a couple hours or more for a response. Other than that, location is great and front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.
I appreciate the hotel holding my bag til my room was available and being able to charge my phone in the Business Center. I was on the 19th floor and had a nice room view of the Irish Restaurant across the street. I like that the hotel has chairs outside for you to sit in. While sleeping I woke up to the fire alarm. I found an unclean wash cloth with my bath towels. The bed was small. I saw a couple receive Perrier water when they checked in. I didn’t receive the same treatment. Breakfast started late, I miss the waffles and pancakes. The juice machine needed to be turned on. Once it was turned on there was no orange juice. I did get some apple juice. My room had no refrigerator and I was only given 30 extra minutes for late checkout.
It was a terrible experience. We bought the room with view for a special moment. We got just married and had contracted a fotographer for a making-off from my marriage in that room, was so terrible, because I had need to cancel my photos. Just because the hotel gave me a worst room without view.We tried explain to attendance, but we don’t have a chance, she was so rude and didnt nothing for us.And other so many things:Take a shower was a bad experience, because the bathroom got all wet.Don’t have a room service. The servers don’t wearing masks.Breakfast:- a lot of crowding- no one requesting vaccination card- does not have breakfast as detailed in the hotel advertisement - only boiled eggs every day!!!- in the ad there were omelets, scrambled eggs and waffle - a shame!
This hotel is both very clean, centrally located, and staffed with great people. They are always cheerful and professional. The hotel is modern and reasonably priced for people on an average budget. Our stay included a free breakfast buffet. We will return on our visits to NYC.
Horrible stay. Nothing in room worked. Ac didn’t work would set to 70 at night it wouldn’t kick on and in morning it would be 75. Side of shower sprayed out all the water onto bathroom floor. Iron wouldn’t heat and spilled out all the water on our clothes we were ironing. Blow dryer stopped working within 1 minute of using. Eggs from breakfast were like jello. Also one of our towels had blood on it. Would not RECOMMEND this hotel to anyone.
Everything was perfect, the room very spacious and clean, with a wonderful view on the Empire State Building (totally worth the extra I paid), various breakfast, friendly staff. And location was perfect, within walking distance from the main attractions, shops and restaurants. I would totally recommend it 💯
The staff at this location is absolutely AMAZING!!!! One of the people in our party accidentally cancelled our reservation, and the two ladies at the front desk, Shannon and jasmine, were the absolute SWEETEST!! They were so kind to us and helped us a great deal. It’s a rare occasion to come across individuals who are as kind hearted and really care about their customers as these two women. They were absolutely top notch. Professional and yet so so sweet!! We would definitely come back to this location thanks to the amazing staff that we were so fortunate to interact with.
The location of this hotel is really good but the hotel itself is really tired. In my room, the phones didnt work and there were quite a few spiders in the bathroom. Other than that, the hotel itself is fair. There was no sundry store just a vending machine and you had to go all the way to the basement to get ice. There was no fridge but there was a safe which is a nice touch. Most of the wall paper was peeling off
Our first visit to New York - the front desk experience set us up for the rest of a really great stay. Sharon was so welcoming and friendly, made us feel at home and safe in a large city that felt so foreign and strange to us! She continued to greet us each day - gave us a warning on the day rain was forecast so we could go get our umbrella and made us feel cared for reaching out to us each day (NOT at ALL what we expected in such a large city!). The value for the room we had with good sleep (no noise & bed was good), amazing view of the Empire State Building, walking or subway distance to everything we had planned, and breakfast included - topped off with the best service - SO Glad we chose this hotel!! Only thing that would have made the stay better would have been easy chair, fridge and microwave in the room but will definitely return here even without those things.
My wife and I choose this hotel for out 10th anniversary trip. We figured the room size and amenities didnt matter much because we wouldnt be in the room much. The rooms was small but the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was well laid out. But what really sets this place apart was the staff. Everyone was extremely nice and went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying our stay. They were a bit late having the room ready, we did not mind. We figured better be late and thorough than on time and dirty. The front desk kept apologizing for the wait. It was this kind of service that set up our stay. I would recommend this place to anyone that would listen.
Horrible experience. I really dont understand how this hotel can be good rated by anybody. There was no cleaning room service in ¡5 days! neither in the dining room although COVID pandemic. Also is really full, you must fight with other people to have breakfast. We will claim because it is a really big fraud.
The location was perfect for my first time visiting New York. You are close to lots of subway lines, central park is a 20-minute walk, and time square is right around the corner. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms need a bit of TLC, the wallpaper is peeling, my shower leaked (really bad, like the bathroom floor was soaked), and there was black mould in the shower. The one downside of being so close to all the main sites in New York is the nose outside at all hours. Breakfast wasnt the greatest, I ended up going to Starbucks for breakfast.
Positive: convenient location, friendly staff Negative: no hand soap at sink in bathroom toilet seat did not match size of toilet water pressure in shower was a trickle dirty carpet with burn marks disgusting scrambled eggs for breakfast quality of hotel did not match star rating or price
Our bed was hard, the floor had chips on the floor from the previous people. We didnt have any wash cloths or shower towels. When I asked the front desk they were extremely nice about it. The cleaning service came about 3 hours later and still didnt have any wash cloths. So I had to go back to the front desk. When the cleaning service came again I had to pick through the towels because she just grab a bunch and said here. I took 2 shower towels and 4 wash cloths and left her with an arm full of hand towels. The furniture was peeling and it was extremely humid in the room but the hallway was nice and cool. For breakfast the hot part was boiled eggs and the rest toast or bagel. I absolutely love the location it was close to everything!
The location is great, it is not right on times Square but is a quick 4 minute walk. The staff is phenomenal, they were very kind and accommodating. I had an unpleasant experience at the last Holiday Inn Express that I stayed at but this location has restored my faith in the brand. The rooms are small but its what I expect of a NYC hotel and is still comfortable. Definitely recommend.
Room and hotel public areas were very clean and well cared for. I found the front desk staff to be accommodating and pleasant. Even though we were checking out very early (before the breakfast bar opened) the gentleman offered to go get us some breakfast items to take with us. Great way to make us feel like appreciated guests. Well done!
We stayed two nights in this hotel. Air conditioner was noisy and bed was so bouncy, we couldnt sleep and woke up with body ache. Water leaked from the shower door, had to use the bath towels to wipe the floor, but we couldnt not get the replacements. Towels were thin and very rough. Only the location was satisfying., unfortunately.
Came on business and forgot my credit card. My sister added some extra cash to her Prepaid Visa Debit Card and off we went not knowing that most NYC Hotels require an actual bank card. After explaining our situation to the manager an exception was made... Thanks guys!!! My sisters boyfriend tagged along for the trip and he stayed drunk the entire time. I was constantly worried the hotel staff would tire of his antics but they were super tolerant and pointed him to his room when he would stumble into the lobby shake my head.We hated to leave after our business trip; so we didnt... After our two days of business we stayed another four on vacation! It wouldnt have happened if not for the way we were treated by the staff. Most hotels look and feel the same but The manager and staff are awesome...Our super humble and friendly Pitbull Choppo had a wonderful time as well and I mention this because friends and family questioned my judgement about bringing the him to NYC and I have to say as it turns out NYC is the perfect place to bring any friendly dog... But your Dog must be socially inclined to enjoy a place like NYC. Other Dogs will want to meet him/her, and Choppo loved the attention from both people and mutt [Advice: Find a Dog Park ASAP; Choppo didnt want to poop on concrete...]Ive never taken this long to write a review but you folks deserved my time and attention; just like you provided yours to us and made our trip special... If I will the lottery this is the hotel I want to LIVE in! Thanks again and cant wait for our next visit.
When I got into my room, I noticed that it was very hot and no air was coming out of the airconditioner. I told front desk twice, and the people they sent did not know what to do. Long story short, we were moved to another room after several hours. The second room had a clogged bathroom sink, but it took two days and multiple requests before they sent someone to fix it.The breakfast room was closed, so we had to eat in our room or outside (at the hotel entrance) if one of the two tables was available. While eating outside I saw that all the plants were dead and the area near the entrance was very dirty. On the plus side, the front desk staff were friendly, and the room was clean and comfortable.
This hotel is in the heart of NYC, it’s close to times sq and lots of restaurants. Subway very close. The area is safe and not that noisy so sleep is no problem. The staff made it easy to check in and check out. It’s a good hotel for a 2 person stay or trip. Cannot beat the price.
The fact that your air conditioning doesn’t work properly or that your staff doesn’t do anything about it just write your room number down is not good at all. The morning breakfast was super limited not really something we would eat, the bathroom they only leave one roll of toilet paper fir a weekend for a double room which makes no sense. The staff were super friendly and that was the great part of the hotel which was the staff but you really need to do something about the a.c n the breakfast I would of paid extra for a room with proper a.c we do this visit to New York frequently n we try different places to stay n I will say I will not be staying here again due to how hot that room felt!!!!
The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is no fridge in room or laundry on site which i always need having small kids. Its a noisy area so it was hard to fall asleep, i am not used to noise i live on quiet side st and fall asleep to dark and quiet. The room was decent normal room if they had a fridge in room i would stay their again because its reasonably priced and good location. I didn’t like that i had to park in a garage at 55$ a night so i wouldnt recommend bringing car.
The experience of our stay was great! The front desk staff was very nice and professional provided every details of acknowledging guest IHG elite status, I was even asked if I would like to take advantage of checking out late, It really felt welcoming, we just have our reservation for a day but me and my wife enjoyed the experience with this property, the location is perfect to us near proximity to herald square , the macys flagship store since my wife loves to shop and Times Square is just a few blocks away going north and very convinient access to the subway trains, the hotel also provides safe selection of grab and go breakfast (No hot Meal) but one thing I really appreciate is their recognition for elite members which early and late check out options were being provided and an upgraded room in the Top 19th Floor with a nice view, We just loved it! We also would like to mention our Thanks to Tiffany for her excellent costumer service!
The hotel is right in the center of all the famous attractions in New York and is in the close proximity of subway stations and bus stops. The hospitality of the staff is exceptional, and they made sure the customers are safe and comfortable. We had our room facing the Empire State, it was surreal. The breakfast spread had ample options to choose from. We had enquired other hotels, and this was the only one with a variety of options to choose from. A 5 on 5 for these guys, and would recommend this to someone who’s traveling to New York and wants to stay in Manhattan.
I choose this hotel because of the location. Compare to other hotel which have higher rate, this hotel is best because walkable even to Time Square and Rockefeller Center and nearby to Macy’s. I was in NYC to see Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade and regret that I did not choose this hotel earlier because it’s just a few minutes from Macy’s.
I choose this hotel because Im a fan of the Holiday Inn brand and its location. I was only there for one night before taking Amtrak. It was a nice walk from Penn Station and Moynahan to the hotel. The hotel is also a block or two from Korean Town, which was great for food. I had an amazing view of the Empire State building! The elevator got stuck, we buzzed to the front desk and they had someone there very quickly to get us out. The front desk agent was very helpful and I felt I was more than compensated for the very minor inconvience. This will be my hotel to stay at in NYC anytime I need to stay in.
The hotel was the most economical available. It was centrally located. Parking was directly across the street. Check in was quick, check out was quick. My main issue with the hotel had to do with information and assistance. When we arrived we asked where the best place to park was and we were told they didnt really know and they could only tell us where one parking garage was but they thought there were many more. There should be some sort of map or directory available and maybe price information. Also we left an expensive cane in the room accidentally. When we realized the next day we called and gave them our contact information. I was told that they would check with housekeeping and return our phone call. No one ever returned my phone call. So we never received our item back.
Several items that need attention. First off the hotel staff can be quicker and more attentive to guest needs with essential room necessities ie; toilet paper, towels. The room shower did not drain properly and the water pressure was very low. Not exactly sure of the requirements during COVID, but my understanding is that the room would be made up after 5 days. The stay was for 7 nights with not one housekeeping service being performed.
Great location for exploring the city. Everything was excellent from the staff to the comfort of the room. Would have liked more breakfast options such as eggs but understand the restrictions due to covid. Everything appeared to be very clean and sanitized. Will definitely return if back in the area.
This by far is my favorite HIE location. The front desk staff is and always have been so very friendly. Its nice to be recognized by name when arriving and checking out. The rooms have pretty much always been comfortable. I just hate the adjoining door in the king rooms. I did have a unpleasant experience during this stay, I alerted the front desk staff and Managment immediatley. I wasnt too happy with the outcome. With NYC slowly coming back to some type of normal activity this is a great location to stay. Its in the heart of Midtwown Manhattan , Empire State Building & MSG right in walking distance. The NYC Ferry to 23rd Street and Pier 11 is also a great way to get around. Despite my last experience, the Front Desk Staff is one reason why I would book again. Whether visting or just treating yourself to a hotel stay, this hotel is a good choice.
We had a litany of problems at the hotel. Bathroom lights out. No hand soap during a pandemic! The bathroom would flood every time we showered. Room phone not working. No house keeping (even when requested). At one point they gave us garbage bags and told us to clean up ourselves. Terrible customer service throughout stayLocation is the only thing going for this hotel.
When we arrived at the hotel, one of the staff members was standing directly outside the door having a cigarette, which was a nice cloud to walk through on our way in and pretty much summed up our stay. The mattress in our room was terrible, and I typically love the mattresses at holiday inn express hotels. There were stains on our towels. And there was a pile of dirty laundry and trash outside our door in the hallway that stayed there for almost the entire stay. The breakfast tables were empty every time I made a trip down stairs during the breakfast hours. As a person that loves this line of hotels, I was extremely disappointed by this facilities service and will not return to this location.
This hotel is small enough to feel like a boutique, will having larger, spacious rooms that boutiques do not offer- at affordable prices!! Being perfect friendly, in Midtown, offered us the perfect stay tonallow personal recreation along with amazing proximity to work.
The rooms are what youd expect for a hotel in NYC. Not spacious but it gets the job done. Blocks away from Times Square which is a major convenience. Didnt take advantage of the free breakfast but definitely a nice add on. No parking on site but two garages located right across the street.
The staff was great and very responsive. They took time out of their busy day attending to staff to help make my sisters birthday check-in so special. They decorated the room and she was so happy when she walked in. We felt comfortable and happy throughout our stay. I would stay here again!
Nice, clean, a budget hotel. A good hotel overall, affordable price for the location. Friendly staff, They have a map ready with recommendations of places to go nearby. Location is great, there are subway stations close by, 24h delis and organic markets for your grocery needs. Very quiet neighborhood, which makes it pleasant to sleep, and there are lots and lots of graffiti around, very interesting to just walk around and explore! I could do without the plastic utensils for the breakfast. Overall, I appreciated the free parking and the free coffee. The warmness of the staff especially the receptionists and the supervisor then its location in the city centre where everything is within reach.
I stayed at this property while working on the Empire State Building. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The rooms are small and there is street noise (sirens/trash removal), but that is normal for hotels in Manhattan. The thing that makes this hotel stand out is the staff! They are so friendly and helpful and from the beginning made me feel welcome. A special shout-out to Tiffany at the front desk! Kevin
We stayed two nights and the first morning there was an awful smoke smell in our bathroom coming from the vents which quickly turned into a pot smell which was very strong and not acceptable considering this is a non smoking hotel and everyone signs a contract upon arrival to say they will not smoke in the rooms. Later in the day we were moved to a room on a lower floor as they could not locate the room from which the smell was coming. The second room was bigger and cleaner and had no smell. The front desk staff were wonderful, very helpful and with a smile on their face.
For the price this place was great. Clean, quiet, friendly staff, convenient location. Few blocks from the amazing food in Korea Town. Only recommendation would be to get more tables for outside. A larger number of smaller tables would be more practical than two huge tables that can seat 8 but only have 4 chairs.
Dont expect luxury here. The property is decent. All we needed was a bed for the night during our trip to NYC and we got exactly that.PROs: The staff is friendly, beds were comfortable, decent shower and soaps, cool view of the Empire State Building, location location locationCONs: small rooms, cramped floors so lots of noise from walls and hallway, midtown location makes for noisy streets, non-smoking room smelled like smoke in the bathroom
I was visiting NYC with my family. We booked a room with two beds. We were warmly greeted by Aletha upon our arrival and she was able to allow us an early check-in time of Noon. The property is well maintained and clean. The staff at this hotel were as friendly and accommodating as any Holiday Inn property Ive ever stayed. The hotel was a little pricey, but it is Manhattan. The room had two full-size beds, not queens and was a little tight. The bathroom was small as well. However, it was clean. We never heard any traffic or noise from the street. We had a 3rd floor interior room that didnt have the best view of the roof below. We werent in NYC to spend a lot of time in our room, so the room served its intended purpose. The breakfast was good and included choices of hot and cold breakfast items. The breakfast area gets crowded in the morning, but the staff did a great job of keeping items replenished and the area clean. As soon as one of the coffee dispensers were emptied, a staff member would quickly refill it. What I liked most about this property was the staff. They were some of the most professional and accommodating employees that I encountered during my entire time in NYC. The one down side to this property is that it did not include a washer/dryer for guest use, also the only ice machine is located only on the bottom floor.
I was not disappointed with the location. Very close to the places I love to visit, public transport and shops. Best place to rest after a days tour. I was able to drink and had fun without worries to get home as bars are literraly just outside. Clean and comfortable rooms are already given, nice bedsheets also.
I do not know where to begin to describe my wonderful stay at this Times Square location. First, I arrived at the hotel around 10am because of an early flight and my reserved room was available so I was allowed to check in. Everyone at the front desk were very nice and really made my daughter and I feel welcomed. The room was immaculate! Our housekeeper was very sweet and offered her services for whatever we may need. The staff was very helpful with information on sightseeing and restaurants and transportation. I also want to give a heartfelt thank you to Geleena and M. Garcia. We were checking out the day before my birthday so those two ladies, along with my friend, managed to find a few decorations and happy birthday balloons with a piece of cake so that we could celebrate before leaving NY. And that is why this location will be the ONLY location that I stay when I am there. A perfect trip!
I had a very unpleasant experience booking a room here. When I landed in New York (after a long flight) I called the front desk here to check what would be the best commute to get to the hotel and they tell me that the room is no longer available! At that time, I was taken aback as I had my parents along with me as we were on a vacation, were really tired after the flight, on a tight schedule there and was not even informed about the cancellation. I infact received an email the previous day that the room is ready for us! When I asked the front desk associate why the room was cancelled such last minute, he said there was an issue with the card on file and hence the room was cancelled and was allotted to someone else on the fly!! As a sheer decency, I was expecting a call or email at the least about the issue; its not like I could not provide another card if the one on file is not working or whatever! All I am saying is this was not the right way of service and was very last minute leaving all of us worried at the airport! The associate mentioned that there were no suitable rooms available at that time and this aggravated my anger as the reason I had chose this hotel was because of its prime location! After a lot of talking and convincing, he agreed to look into the Holiday Inns nearby that had a vacant room and found one for us which was similar but a little far. I had no choice but to go for it!
Well my visit was short but staying in Holiday inn express, manhattan time square was perfect. Room was perfect in terms of comfort and cleanliness. Breakfast was grab and go due to measures against COVID-19 but variety was good for selection. My overall stay was excellent. Looking forward to stay in this hotel again..
Well this was not my first visit, the location is still ideal, near Herald Square + Bryant Park, and Erika, the manager, is always lovely, friendly, and helpful. However during this visit, I had an unfortunate accident with food that I brought back to the room; When I pulled it from my bag, it spilled right on my bed. I notified the front desk and within minutes, the very friendly Robert quickly and efficiently made up my bed with new sheets. He was helpful, cheerful, friendly. and did a fantastic job!
Customer service was top notch, got us into our room right away.Pros- pet friendly, good wifi, kid friendly, good location and price, self serve breakfast.Cons- small rooms and bathrooms, elevator is slow, rooms could use a little more maintenance on smaller details.Overall Id definitely recommend staying here.
The room and bathroom are small. We stayed in room 1805 for 4 days and they never cleaned it or changed towel etc. There was a black mold on the shower ceiling. The shower door was broken so water was on the floor all the time. Breakfast time is 6-30 - 9-30. But there was no eggs or other warm food by 8-30. And on top of that they charged us $30 at check out with no explanation.
This hotel needs a major makeover to move out of a 2 star rating. No excuse to blame the pandemic for not having hand soap in the bathroom. Every item of furniture is scuffed and scratched. Fortunately I was not paying (although a waste of a free night certificate) and it was just 1 night.
Holiday Inn Express accommodated our needs on a busy weekend in NYC (NY Marathon and Halloween Festivities). All staff was courteous and we were able to store our bags without having to pay an extra fee (we had to do that at another NYC hotel). While the lobby is on the small side- it was very crowded, it was clean. The rooms were clean and functional. It was great to have a dresser smf small armoire to store our belongings. Breakfast was fantastic (although juice was a little watery). Nice variety. Would recommend.
I am an IHG member, and this is the WORST hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff was uninterested in helping, and seemed bothered with my questions. Not even the manager could answer a simple question as to how old the hotel was, after giving me a look. There was no remote in my room. No refrigerator, nor microwave, and 2 (yes two) phones, neither of which worked. I was unable to call the front desk, and after going to the lobby to report it, the staff stated they would send someone with a remote, and to fix the phones. Well at least the remote came, because maintenance didnt. SMH
Check in was efficient, asked for a room away from the lift but they are all fairly close, not sure if ours was furthest away, or not. Air con in the room was a trifle noisy but as it was quite warm we needed it on, it did provide adequate conditioning though. Rooms cleaned daily, good maid service, had a problem with the sink plug, reported but not repaired. Plenty of drawer space but limited wardrobe space. Plenty of electrical outlets. Bed comfort adequate, however, super comfy pillows. Was disappointed to find extensive use of throwaway plastic in the breakfast restaurant which in this day and age is not a good thing when there are many alternatives available. Breakfast ok, but at busy times limited space and availability of certain items. The location was excellent which was the major reason for choosing, plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, not far from the subway and within walking distance to major attractions such as Times Square, Broadway, Empire State Building Grand Central Station to name just a few. We had a bit of traffic noise in the room, but this is New York, everything is too noisy here. Checkout went well, no surprises, they allow you to store your luggage securely. Overall, a decent enough hotel in a great location, but still think it was a little pricey, but first time in NewYork so maybe I could be wrong. If I were to visit again, I would consider staying here again, but not promising.
This hotel provides such a relaxing environment to unwind and Erika, the property manager is a rock star! She is always welcoming and friendly, but when the water was going to be turned off during my recent stay, she made sure that all guests were informed when they checked in. When the water still wasnt turned on by the following morning as promised, she did not charge guests for their stay. What good customer service, as well as great surprise, one that I will not forget for a long time.
I havent stayed at a Holiday Inn property for years so I was a bit hesitant, but I ended up very happily surprised. This hotel was a great value, very clean, great staff and the Keg Room restaurant being directly across the street was a huge bonus. I didnt have to go far to eat and have a cocktail and the atmosphere in the restaurant was safe and relaxing.
Great location for Times Square and central to the rest of Manhattan as close to Herald Sqaure Subway station. The free breakfast is great with plenty of options. We did experience a few issues with our stay. First of all we booked a room with a view which is meant to be at the rear of the hotel facing the Empire State Building but we were given a front facing room which is also noisier. The ice machine on our floor was broken and there was no attempt to rectify this during our stay. The beds are comfortable but the pillows are awful, way too soft ! The rooms are also very small especially those with 2 double beds. Overall the hotel is good because of the location and value for money but I will consider another hotel on my return to New York.
We stayed in the hotel for a week at the beginning of December, and everything was good start to finish. Good rooms with good beds very comfy and we all slept well and it was very quiet. We had a room at the back of the hotel that had an amazing view of the Empire State Building. Free breakfast every morning was self sufficient and the location was ideal, across the street from macys and the subway. Special mention to the receptionist (didnt catch her name), one female in our group needed some sanitary items urgently and she went above and beyond to fetch some to our room very promptly. Free tea and coffee all day long.. we will definetly he back! Only thing we thought could have improved was the amount of towels left every day. There were 4 of us in one room and we showered everyday. We did not have a towel per person. Well done holiday inn express.
We came to NYC to scout the city and take pictures for our two new websites coming on line in June. We almost couldnt get rooms because of a problem with our credit card but Henry at the Front Desk, made a courageous decision to trust some strangers at their word and he hooked us right up!!! We had such a good time in NYC and were so comfortable at the hotel that we stayed a few extra days and of course Henry took care of all of that for us as well. Awesome place and CompanyXRs new policy is we stay at the Holiday Inn. Special thanks to Henry and the rest of the hotel staff. Oh and I brought our dog Choppo and FYI they are pet friendly so our pet had a great time too!
My boyfriend and I spent a few days in the city and this hotel was in a great location and everything about our stay was wonderful. We didnt utilize any of the amenities because we mainly spent our time out in the city but our room was super clean and the bed was comfy. We would highly recommend for the value and location.
Everything about our stay was positive! The check-in process was smooth and the representative was very kind and personable. She accommodated our request for an adjoining room. Rooms were very clean and maintenance responded quickly and courteously when we need a light bulb. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh (space fills up quickly). Great value for your money in NYC, and great location far enough away from the square to be comfortable, yet close enough to experience the vibrancy.
Cons:1. The staff werent as friendly compared to the other IHG properties Ive stayed at. 2. The lobby is small and desperately needs updating. Not a good first impression at all. If felt like a budget motel walking in. 3. The breakfast items werent appetizing at all. 4. The pillows really need to be replaced in our room. They smelled odd (as in the pillows need to be washed) and they didnt maintain their fluffiness and went flat easily. 5. The bed was comfortable but the mattress needs to be either flipped or turned around. It dips down on the right side. Pros - 1. Great view from our room! I booked a room with a view. We were assigned the top floor and could see the Empire State Building only 2 blocks over. 2. Hotel location was excellent. Around the corner and down one block was Macys, H
The room Cleaning Service was awful. During our 7-day stay, they did cleaning only once. One of the guests had vomited on the carpet during the first night and the cleaning staff refused to come for cleaning so we had to buy our own cleaning supplies to clean the carpet. The front desk and cleaning staff did not have the courtesy to ask if we need cleaning throughout our stay.
Everything about this hotel was really great: smooth check-in, luggage storage for pre-check-in, clean room, and good amount of space considering the location. And the location is the best thing about this hotel: just a few blocks south of Times Square and Grand Central. The only downfall is that there are several bars directly around the hotel, which is great if you want a bite to eat or a drink, but not helpful at midnight when you want to sleep and a DJ is playing 80s/90s rock songs. If you are a light sleeper, I would definitely recommend asking for a room on the back side of the hotel. Staff was also very quick to respond when we asked for more towels and a bed blanket. Overall a great stay and would definitely stay again when heading to NYC!
I definitely enjoyed my stay when I arrived my first room was extremely hot with no towels or wash clothes, I went to the front desk and received a new room.. larger cooler yet still no wash clothes and 1 towel I ended up going to a nearby store and purchased my own. Otherwise excellent stay.
I was there for a week on business and it was a great experience. The internet connection was excellent, which is what I needed for the zoom calls and when I needed something they were on it immediately. I know times are tough in Covid but with the staff at this location, they never showed it. Always pleasant (except one woman who had an attitude when I asked for a blanket), and ready to help! I would recommend this place also, especially for the location too. Its close to everything if youre into the touristy things.
I got into an accident and I have to cancel my reservation. I booked my reservation through booking.com and I contacted Booking.com to cancel my reservation and they said there is a one time charge but they will ask the property to waive it for me as one time exception. I called the reservations and they are of not help and when I contact the guest services guess what some guy picked up who sound so cranky and looks like he hate his job. Picked the call and said you have to talk to the manager from 9 am to 5 pm and he can’t do anything. I am already dealing with one thing and this guy literally made it even more worse and he just hung up on me. That’s how the worlds biggest hotel chain treat the customers so rude. He said we one more thing that oh we are not a part of Holiday hotel chain and we are separately owned and hung up. I would suggest everyone to book somewhere where they treat you with respect.
Staying at this location was an unusual experience for me. I checked in at midnight and my room was not ready. The bed was missing pillow cases which was expected at any time when the laundry was to be delivered. I was told that if I wanted to go to sleep, I could because the pillows are covered in cloth. Yew! Luckily a couple cases were found before I went to sleep. The next morning I noticed when taking a shower I noticed, the shower stocked with full bottles of what appeared to be a nice brand of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Unfortunately the body wash empty. Breakfast shuts down promptly at 9:30. Luckily my friend and I were able to grab some coffee and a piece bread for some toast before it was locked up. Other guests who came just after us were not so fortunate. Our room was never straightened on the second day of stay. We had to ask for coffee pods at the front desk. There is some obvious housekeeping issues taking place that needs addressing. I think the staff is trying to do the best they can under the conditions they are working under. The hotel was very busy and in a great location.
The room was exceptionally clean, it far exceeded my expectations for a New York City hotel room. Although the room was modestly sized, there was a nice cabinet that I kept my bags in, and the bathroom had a nice amount of counter space for the size. The gentleman that checked me in was so very nice and answered all my questions, they also held out bags in a locked room for several hours before our check in time so that we didnt have to drag them around the city.
Location, location, location. Its in the middle of Manhattan close to NYC tourist attractions at an affordable price!!! How could I ask for more? :) I felt a VIP because they also upgraded my room as an IHG Rewards Club member, and we were given the Empire State Building view! My first time to NYC, so this is a big plus!!! :)
Good location and comfortable bed. Front desk staff were helpful with providing assistance when seeking information about subways/directions.Room cleaning was minimal, needed to make numerous requests to housekeeping for basic room items (cups, glasses, coffee, shower gel). Room was not cleaned two days in a row even though the do not disturb sign was not in place; front desk agent gave the impression that she did not believe us. With so many hotel options in Manhattan, we would stay elsewhere if we ever returned to the city.
We were late, midnight, to check in, no problem everything was ready and check in was easy. We enjoyed our room it was almost perfect. The view that I paid extra for was a little trumped up. We could see the Empire State Building from our room by getting down on the floor in the far corner of the room. The advertisement was based on a picture of the Empire State Building that was hanging on the wall of the room. I guess someone thought it would be an ironic joke on guests. The Keurig® K-Mini™ K15 Single-Serve K-Cup coffee maker was a great addition to our stay. The hotel staff could not tell us what type of coffee maker was in the room, so we brought the wrong kind.of coffee pods. This was not a problem since they provided the coffee. We were staying in room 1608 and the ice machine that worked was on the 10th floor and only one elevator was working for 144 rooms. The front has a great seating area with two tables and four chairs each. The seating area is covered so you can enjoy people watching rain or shine. The internet service was great throughout the property. They have three computers in the lobby for pring tickets and other need.
I wasnt sure what to expect from this hotel, but chose it for the price, location and free breakfast as we have two growing boys who eat a lot. I was pleasantly surprised. The location is fantastic. It is very central and walkable to so many attractions and restaurants and close to subway stops. Small rooms, but I was expecting this. The bathroom however is very small. My husband has stayed in NYC for work several times and said he has never experienced such a small bathroom. The pillows and beds were super comfy and I slept well once I finally got to sleep. Next time I will request a higher floor (we were on 7) as the noise from the nearby clubs and trash pickup in the night were quite loud and went on pretty late. But, overall, we enjoyed our stay and I felt, for the price, it was worth it. The rooms, linens and breakfast area all felt very clean and that is paramount to me. Also, we were right next to the elevator and never heard a thing from any other guests from near the elevator or through the walls. The only noise was from the outside.
One of the best overnight stays in a Holiday Inn Express. Room was a bit smaller than expected, but certainly clean and comfortable. The HVAC system was quiet and worked well. Room was also very quiet. The complimentary breakfast was by far the best Ive ever had in any hotel. The breakfast variety and beverages were well prepared and delicious. Staff were very helpful.
We arrived to be welcomed by the lovely girls on Reception. Our room had been decorated as we were travelling for a special birthday! The room was compact as all rooms are in Manhattan. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, all bed linen clean. We slept very well in this room. We had a fantastic view of The Empire State Building! We had a warm welcome by the staff at breakfast where we had a good variety of food to choose from which was continually topped up throughout breakfast. The girls on Reception were very helpful with any information we needed about New York. To have coffee tea and water 24 hours a day was very handy. Also to have the coffee machine in the room was great. The hotel is in a great position! We walked everywhere from here. On checkout we left out suitcases to be looked after. There is also a washroom to use on your return so you can freshen up before leaving for the airport. So happy we chose this hotel for our trip. Thankyou to all the staff who made our trip just perfect.
The room was clean and comfortable. The lobby, elevators, hallway and breakfast areas were all clean and tidy. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the duvet was a nice touch. It is in a great location. It took only a few minutes to walk to Madison Square Garden, Macys and other stores. There are several nice restaurants
I would not have booked this hotel at full rate, but it was a last minute booking so was discounted a bit. I was very happy with the Hotel. Breakfast was great. Room was small but comfy. I would have enjoyed staying here longer and would stay here again. The staff was friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable with directions to places and sights. Made our last day and departure stress free.
We had an enjoyable stay at this hotel. The room was spacious enough for three of us to enjoy for the week. Bedding was very comfortable and rooms were clean. We left a note requesting extra towels and they accommodated us throughout the week. Our room had a close up view of the Empire State Bldg, which was especially beautiful at night. The location is amazing.....very safe, close to Broadway and great shopping, and a short walk to Bryant Park, Times Square, etc. Breakfast was good and we especially liked the warm cinnamon rolls each morning! The front desk staff were always friendly and welcoming. We discovered a fantastic little restaurant/deli next door called Pure and Fresh......they serve a variety of foods and most are made to order. We often ordered dinners and brought back to our room after a busy day in the city. We will definitely return to this hotel!
Upon checking the clerk was really nice and friendly he was the only one that made our experience better. When we walked in our room smelled like cigarettes. We called the front desk and let them know she put us in the same one level up this one had an hvac ac from surrounding buildings right next to our windows. We let them know and apologized for being annoying because I felt like we were asking for to much but it was simple things . The lady wich was not the same staff that checked us in said she only had two rooms available and those were the only ones were not able to sleep sound. And i find it hard to believe that the hotel was fully booked with 19 floors. So we were not able to sleep at all maybe 4 hours of sleep
The location of this hotel is definitely unbeatable. Close to metro station with multiple lines, times square, empire state building, Korean town, and a great collection of shopping places. And I personally think the price is pretty reasonable considering its location and the general price level in NYC.The hotel room is not very big but its okay for tourists who just need a place to shower, rest, and sleep after traveling for a whole day.The staff was super friendly and the room was very clean. And there were complimentary breakfasts offered. Overall a good choice and I would recommend it!
My Husband, myself, my Son and his partner stayed here June 2019 and from the moment we walked in we were made to feel very welcome. We arrived earlier than our check in time but the lady at the desk said that was not a problem as our rooms were ready and let us check in. The room was lovely and clean with lots of cupboard space. This was our first visit to New York and the service we received started our holiday off well. When we came down to go out, the lady called us over to explain that we can get coffee anytime from the dining area. We had tea and coffee facilities in our room and because I like proper milk in my tea, the lady got me a small carton of milk to take to my room and use. We have stayed in plenty of hotels but the desk staff here certainly go the extra mile to ensure that you enjoy your stay. Would very highly recommend it.
Great location staff were very helpful and polite we even had a welcome gift as we were celebrating an anniversary. Rooms were of a good size for New York very clean and well maintained. Breakfast was good and loved the fact we could have coffee/tea at any time. Would recommend
I checked in around 4 pm and I left for party and back to hotel around 4 a.m. in the morning and the room next door was very noisy in bery early morning and I could hear house keeping clean the room so loud and woke me up! I could not fall sleep again and I had to check out by noon and left for work. I wasn’t a good day to stay and make me relaxing at all! I was very exhausted!! I will not stay here again!
It was a weekend adventure to Manhattan. The hotel was superbly located at an accommodating New York City price. I have to compliment the front desk staff. They were very attentive, and even while I was briefly waiting for my room status, they kept acknowledging me. I was pleased with my room knowing full well that in the city, hotel room space is smaller. Since there are a limited number of rooms per floor, it was quiet during my stay. The bed was very comfortable, and I had a great view of the Empire State Building from my room, #1501. The breakfast was better than typical of a Holiday Inn Express; I very much appreciated the Chobani greek yogurt and the pancake machine! My only wish was that the property had more space to accommodate more of its guests during breakfast. THANK YOU FOR MY STAY!
Stay here was good and the location was very good. The hotel itself was quiet and we didnt hear other residents at night however the noise outside was a different story and disrupted our sleep. The room was a little small but it was exactly what we expected for a city and it was furnished nicely. Plus the breakfast every morning was great and saved us time and money by not having to go to a restaurant. We found the breakfast selection fine but Id image some people would find this limited as there isnt really much choice. Overall we had a very good stay and would definitely stay there again.
If youre looking for a hotel that is in a prime location and affordable, this is it. From the hotel, my wife and I were able to walk to all of the main sites in Midtown: Times Square, Grand Central Terminal, Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Center, the Empire State Building, and more. It is also very close to the Herald Square Subway Station. I recommend buying the seven-day unlimited pass if you plan to ride it about three times a day.We were on the top floor of the hotel and had an amazing view of the Empire State Building just one block away. It was nice to have a hot breakfast in the morning but I suggest skipping on the coffee and finding one of the many local coffee shops in the immediate area. The room was small, but that wasnt an issue. The bed was very comfortable and housekeeping did a great job with service while we were out during the day.I highly recommend staying at this hotel.
Location of hotel was excellent, room was clean and comfortable although a bit small.Breakfast was good although all cutlery and plates were disposable sometimes making it difficult to use and not very eco-friendly.Be aware you can request airport shuttle but only if you book a day before departing, we weren’t aware so couldn’t use this but they provided a car which came promptly and charged a flat rate.
Overall, a nice stay at this hotel. Awesome location, walking distance from Penn Station, and only one subway stop away from Times Square (or a short walk too). The only big downside I found is the use of plastic, single-use cutlery and plates/cups at breakfast. I was happy to notice that the that the shampoo/conditioner bottles have been replaced with the refillable ones. Gotta follow suit with breakfast too! My status was also not recognized at check-in (hasn’t happened at any other IHG hotels I’ve stayed at throughout the year). Will be back soon.
We recently stayed at this hotel for our first-time visit to NYC. It was good value for the money, but only because I was diligent in checking the rates right up until our stay. Holiday Inn central reservations were very good at changing the rates from when I had booked if they went down (which they did considerably! Make sure you check this!). This is a middle-of-the-road hotel in a great location and the breakfast was excellent (great choices of hot foods and cold foods). Being an IHG member for many years, I expected better service than what we received at the front desk. The front desk is very understaffed (only 1 person on from 11 am until 1 pm on the day we checked in, with 3 people in line to check-in) and more people coming in after us. I had asked for a room away from the elevator, an extra pillow (they only have foam pillows -- no feather pillows), and an extra blanket, and none of these were given to us when we were allocated our room (we stayed in the room closest to the elevator). But the breakfast staff, cleanliness of the room, location!, and the breakfast itself, made up for the negatives about the hotel. The front staff was very good about lining up cab service for our check-out at 4 am on our day of departure. I would still recommend this hotel, but dont set your expectations too high.
Room was not ready at the time of check in, we waited and hour in the lobby and not even one staff or manager (who was there the whole time) bothered to apologize. the room was smelly and the carpet was wet, disgusting. It was a room for 4 people but only had service enough for two, when we asked for more, they never brought us any. BAD experience!
This is the third year weve stayed here when we come to the Westminster Dog Show. We have always had a great experience. The rooms are always clean. We love that the hotel is within walking distance of everything we need to go to. The staff is kind and always quick to answer any questions we have and to help if we need anything. We would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting the city.
Located close to time square and the subway it is in a perfect location. The hotel is very well kept, up to date and very clean and comfortable. The staff was always very courteous and cheerful which adds to the pleasure of the stay. The room is very well kept and very current. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. I would definitely come here again when I return to NYC.
I stayed during the COVID protocol so no breakfast or gym access was available. I understand this was a safety measure so I cant complain. The location is great and I was able to go for a jog in Central Park. The pillows and bed were comfortable and I loved the shower! My only complaint is the air conditioning. It did make the room cold but also clammy and I had allergies the whole time I was there. That being said I would still stay here again.
Great location, easy to get around city, noise wasn’t a problem. Free breakfast was nice but everyone takes advantage of it so it’s busy down there. Pillows are feathered so if you are allergic let them know. Bathroom design a little weird but all in all it was a great spot and comfy bed.
We were greeted so warmly. The staff is very friendly. It was our anniversary and they gave us a special gift and upgraded our room. The room and bathroom were very clean and updated. Free internet in room worked fine. And a free Hot breakfast in the morning. And in close walking distance to Times Square, Herald Square and Bryant Park. The lobby is small but everything else makes up for that. I would recommend this hotel.
I reviewed this hotel a few years ago and was very happy with my stay at that time. I have stayed at this property several times and I have noticed a significant decline between this year and last year. First, the positives: The staff were very nice and our room was ready ahead of time. As a platinum elite member I was very happy to get late check out. The breakfast had excellent choices and was replenished regularly. The location is excellent since it is Near Herald Square, Penn station, on the magical Macys! Now the negatives: The bed was extremely uncomfortable. No amenities make up for poor sleep! The bedding needs to be replaced. Our towels were not threadbare but they were almost like sandpaper, so they to need to be replaced. If the management would Invest money in these two improvements I would consider staying there again. Until then ... I will be looking for a new go to Hotel while visiting New York City.
Nice hotel with a great selection of breakfast included.Staff friendly and attentive on the whole, (some need a little more training in customer service!)Good size room and comfortable bed. Nice size bathroom.Clean and compact and convenient. The subway is only 3 minutes walk away which gets you to anywhere you want to go.Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
This Holiday Inn Express has phenomenal customer service, especially compared to other similar hotels in the Times Square and Midtown areas. The staff at the front desk were super accommodating to the group. They held luggage. They sent an engineer to fix a minor room issue. They offered early check in. They provided tourism advice. They double checked subway routes. They professionally and promptly corrected any issues that occurred, and they went above and beyond in other areas of service, making it a great experience for folks new to NYC. The rooms were a good size for NYC with up-to-date decor. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
If youre looking for a hotel that is in a prime location and affordable, this is it. From the hotel, my wife and I were able to walk to all of the mains sites in Midtown: Times Square, Grand Central Terminal, Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Center, the Empire State Building, and more. It is also very close to the Herald Square Subway Station. I recommend buying the seven day unlimited pass if you plan to ride it about three times a day.We were on the top floor of the hotel and had an amazing view of the Empire State Building just one block away.
My son and I took a quick trip to NYC all decked out for the Holidays. Though we have been to the city, we have not stayed overnight in the city. I was not sure what to expect. We had a very positive experience at HIE Times Square South from arrival to departure. We requested a street view room and we got a nice room on the top floor. Front desk staff was very friendly and took the time to talk with us in an unhurried manner. Room was very clean and comfortable. I wish had the same bed and pillows at home. Breakfast was very good with plenty of room in the dining area. We had a brief one night stay but given the good location of this hotel, we could easily walk to Times Square and see everything in between. HIE did it right here and I plan to return.
We were so pleased with every aspect of your hotel that we will stay here the next time we visit New York City; additionally, we will recommend it to others. The room was cleaned immaculately, the bed was comfortable, the breakfast was excellent and varied. But the highlight was the service we received continuously from the staff. There was not a question we asked staff that was not thoroughly explained and clarified. Each time we needed directions to a location or to an event, staff took the time to orient us and provided us with maps as well as written commentary. Justin, at the front desk, was unbelievably helpful and gracious. He exemplifies sincere caring and the best of customer care.
We paid for a room with a view and didnt get that. The TV decided to stop working, and it took an hour to get wash cloths in the room. When we asked to switch rooms with what we paid for, the spanish girl took an attitude. Maybe you should FALSE ADVERTISING on your site!
Hotel is in a great location within walking distance to most attractions and close to several subway stations. Very quiet in the room and comfortable beds. Only issue we had while there was the breakfast area was very small and crowded. Although free breakfast was included, the second morning we opted out and bought our breakfast elsewhere.
The hotel is in a great location, within walking distance of many attractions and subway entrance only 1 block away for longer distances. We chose this hotel because of location but also as breakfast is included which we found important. Breakfast area isn’t huge and sometimes have to wait for a seat but we were always able to sit after a short wait, the seating wasn’t helped by some inconsiderate guests sitting on their own hogging a four seat table, having clearly finished eating some time before just sat there on their phones.. some people are just plain rude and inconsiderate. Rooms are adequate in size, you only sleep, wash and change their anyway. They are clean and well attended to, shower is roomy and good.
We stayed here as a family of four from May 23-28, 2019. The location was fantastic! The hotel is within walking distance to Times Square, Empire State, Rockerfeller Centre, many restaurants, shops and the list goes on and on! We were close enough to Times Square without all of the noise. The location was also within walking distance to all of the tour bus stops. The breakfast was great each day! There was always coffee and water on hand. The staff were friendly and helpful! Would highly recommend!

2022-04-05Hotel was very clean. Staff was incredibly helpful and responsive. This is not a fancy hotel, but it felt very welcoming, safe, and as though everything was well thought out and taken care of. The morning breakfasts are great…cereals, eggs, toast, bagels, breakfast bars, bacon and sausage, juice, milk, yogurt, coffee…I know I didn’t capture everything. I had one small maintenance issue, and the staff was incredibly responsive and caring. I can’t say enough about how professional everyone was, and they made me, as a guest, feel like I was important to them. Great visit at a great hotel. Wonderful location, close to subway, and within walking distance of many sites.

2022-04-064 out of 5 experience at the IHG. The location itself was super close to major tourist destinations and the most viable transportation, the subway. The staff was incredibly amazing upon checking in and are extremely friendly. Breakfast was included as part of our plan and had a wide variety of foods such as eggs, sausage, cereal, and coffee. The room itself was decently clean per COVID guidelines. However, we were told that extra items such as towels were not included due to a water shortage and our room wasnt cleaned when we left for the day. I am not sure if our room wasnt cleaned because of our short stay, but if you are staying less than 3 days, be mindful that your room may not be cleaned. One minor con that ruins the rating for IHG is that the rooms were located extremely close to the elevator. Being the city that never sleeps, this is fitting as you hear a lot of guests using the elevator late at night when you are trying to sleep. Overall, the stay at IHG on 60 West 36th Street, New York is a 4 out of 5 and is a cheaper alternative than staying directly in the city.

2022-05-02We had a great stay here for our first time in NYC. It was walking distance to many great attractions and restaurants. The hands down best part was our front desk employee Jonathon. Beyond his wonderful personality and character he was very helpful and gave us great suggestions for the city. His professionalism and friendliness made us feel welcome and we felt like we left with a new friend. Thank you to the whole staff for being helpful and accommodating. Big thank you to Jon we will hopefully see you next time we’re in the city!- Kira and David

2022-06-01Good hotel in a very good location. The rooms had a decent size for Manhattan and everything was clean. Nice outdoor and indoor seating area and great buffet breakfast. Friendly staff and I was able to store some luggage there after check out, including a bicycle.

2021-12-07This is a decent hotel and the rates are good. Some of the staff are very helpful but we seem to have a difficult time getting the room we requested. We always pay a little extra to get a view room which means you can see the Empire State building. The last time we were there our room wasnt ready so they said they were giving us a better room. The room wasnt any better, only one floor higher but no view of the Empire State building which we paid to have. The rooms are small including the bathroom but Ive experienced that in large cities before. Obviously space is at a premium. They offer a free breakfast but quite often they are very busy and crowded in the dining area. We end up taking something up to the room and eat it there. I did fond that the cleaning staff is friendly and helpful.

2022-06-04My card was charged multiple times before even checking in not even the day of and then when I went to check in was advised I owed the entire amount for my stay. They eventually “fixed” the problem I had to wait days for the bank to release over $400 they incorrectly charged in the first place. Other than that the stay was fine, never felt unsafe it was just me and 2 teenagers, the rooms are decent size and bathroom was fine. The breakfast was a plus too.

2022-03-21This is one of the better Holiday Inn Express hotels in the vicinity. The rooms are decent sized. The management still follows some weird Covid protocol and the room cleaning is only done if you request it which doesnt make any sense when you are paying the rates in full. The check-in was amazing as they were quite efficient. But many a time you would find the employees to be grumpy and a bit rude.

2022-06-28Great location near points of interest, shopping and subway. You have near Time Square, Empire State, Bryant Park, Summit One, NYC Library, Macys. Great place for families. Good included breakfast which is nice on the pocket and convenient to start your day without a wait in a restaurant. The guest traffic is pretty high which affects service and maintenance but evertging is good.

2022-04-26I stayed here recently with my boyfriend and we had a great time. The staff was very nice and accommodating to our needs when needed. Our room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and our bathroom was very nice. The front desk was also very nice and helpful.
