Holiday Inn Express New York City - Chelsea, an IHG Hotel in New York

Location on the map
New York, New York County, New York, US
The extreme kindness of Ana at the front desk made my day and week! I accidentally left two blouses hanging in the closet when I left, and didn’t discover it until that night. Next morning I called and spoke with Ana, and she said yes, she had them. I was already out of the area, but Ana asked enough questions to find out that she could bring the blouses home with her that afternoon and I could pick them up on my way to the airport. So that’s what we did, and I’m so grateful! The hotel itself is fine except for the thumping noise most of the night- sounded like disco music or something and kept me awake. (Maybe that’s why I forgot the blouses!)
Decent place to stay in NYC for a short trip. Our group stayed here for 3 nights and didnt have any major issues during the period. The rooms were small and so not the best if one is claustrophobic but that is to be expected from the city. The hotel is lower priced compared to some other options but the room price skyrockets if booked very close to date of travel.
Positive: Location is very good and staff is courteous. Negative: It was a double queen bed room but was to small to move within the room. it was for 4 guests but there were only two small water bottles per day were provided. Breakfast doesnt have much options for Muslims. No coffee an water especially in night.
This is without a doubt the nicest express type hotel Ive ever stayed in. The room itself was very clean, small (but thats to be expected for NYC) yet cozy, had a decent number of outlets, and much nicer bathroom counters than any other more cost effective hotel. And as a wonderful added plus, the front desk staff are very kind and personable! I was told by one of them at check in that as a Hilton rewards member, a gift was waiting for me in my room. I was surprised to find a very cute gift bag full of snacks and water, which was perfect for the trip home! The only reasons this isnt a five star review is because there arent any luggage carts, nor fridge/microwave units. While this hotel far exceeded my expectations and was perfect for my overnight stay, for a trip any longer than that and with more people, without either the carts (for those who arent light packers) or food preservation availability, it would be tricky to manage.
The staff was outstanding at this hotel. They let us check in early and they granted our request for two beds, a high floor and location away from the elevator. They acknowledged my platinum status at check in and left a nice gift in the room that included several water bottles and snacks for the weekend. The staff also was serious about Covid and they set a good example for guests. The breakfast could be improved with a better variety of food choices.I highly recommend this hotel to future guests.
Excellent stay. My wife and I spent 3 nights here, they were incredibly friendly and allowed us to check in early. Shower was hot with great pressure, bed was comfy and room was clean. It’s a great location to see the touristy sights and also close to many more locally known attractions. The hotel even gave us a nice holiday treat bag for staying which was thoughtful. Only improvement I would make is adding USB charging ports within the room. Just make sure you bring your wall adaptor and it’s a non issue though.
This place is a dump. Way over priced. Motel6 might be a step up. The only thing good about this hotel is the location. Room I stayed in is extremely beat up and smells like mildew. Upon arrival front desk gave me a key that didn’t work and the TV remote doesn’t work. Called the front desk multiple times during a day and got hung up several times. If you are looking for horrible hotel you came to the right place. Take my word for and find a different hotel. Literally anywhere else.
Stayed here with some friends for one night, room was fine but we spent over two hours trying to pay. We used 5 different cards and their machine wouldn’t read any of them. The woman behind the desk blamed us and our cards and not the machine. These cards were definitely working, from different banks and a mix of debit and credit but we were still told that we were at fault. Horrible customer service.
What a wonderful experience . First , I contacted the hotel prior-and they got back to me immediately. Second, they were so accommodating - even while being completely sold out, they did everything correctly. Giving credit to everyone, Anna went out of here way to make it great! Thank you so much. Will return when we come back to Manhattan.
My stay was for 4 nights. When I woke up the first morning there I was eaten up with bites on my arms and legs. I called down and informed them. In my opinion it was bed bugs. As I pulled back the sheets on the spare bed I could see small stains. I asked to be moved. The guy told me he did not have another room but to call back later. A few minutes later I went down to get Lysol. I talked to the guy who checked me know n. He had no idea I had issues. I showed him my bites and the other attendant said oh, those are mosquito bites. I live in the south and know they are not. No one ever came up to even check things out. While the location is ok I had to make sure I was not taking bed bugs back into my own home. This process cost over 300 dollars. Holiday Inn should be ashmed
Terrible Terrible Terrible customer service experience! Hotel and the Guest relations team kept me on the phone for 2 hours on 2 occasions and did not do any good. While I was checking the prices for a 3 night stay, it automatically made the reservation and charged me. I called them immediately to cancel it and they want to charge $325! Outrageous. They were blaming each other but nothing ever happened. The case manager from guest relations told me that the date has passed to cancel and it was the 11th of June. I made the booking on the 13th of june so unless they want me to go back in time there is nothing i can do. I have not had such bad customer service from a hotel.
The hotel is really nice but Nathan, the guy in the reception made it a fantastic experience.Nathan was very patient and helped every day and guided me how to get anywhere and gave me anything I asked.Unfortunately I forgot my laptop in the safe and I was really stressed, but Nathan calmed me down and found my laptop and sent it back to my country.
I rented a few hours at this hotel using DayUse.com when the trains were shut down last week due to a power outage. I was only in the hotel for a couple hours and left my apple watch charging next to the bed. An hour after leaving the hotel, I called to report my apple watch left behind. After a week, several calls and voicemails, I have still not heard back. Today after calling a 4th time, they confirmed that the Apple Watch is not there. The GPS location shows the watch at the hotel. If my request had been taken seriously when it first happened, the watch could have been recovered. The hotel knowingly ignored my requests for a week instead of following up with me. Im sure valuable items are left behind all the time - BEWARE - they will not work with you to recover your item and will just say its not here. Terrible customer service/follow up.
Great staff, super kind and helpful!! Room, bathroom, and shower was also great. Location was super convenient and so close to everything you need! Only one elevator works so if youre on a high floor expect lots of waiting. Dont pay extra for a higher floor + city views, its just a view of another building and again, higher floors mean waiting for the elevator. The room had a moderate odor of cigarette smoke but so does all of New York. Other than that, the stay was wonderful and as an IHG member I got a welcoming gifts of some treats and also a little package of chocolates for Halloween. Definitely would reccomend!
Very good location. The room was small, but it was largely sufficient for just sleeping and have some rest after exploring New York for the whole day. We were surprised by the breakfast: it was really good. The only negative point was the elevators, only one out of two was working but not fully operational: sometimes we had to wait 5-10 minutes to get into the elevator, especially in the morning.
Good location. Nice view of a deco building across 29th. Sliver of the Empire State, but the desk tried hard, and did well in my book. The people on the desk were really wonderful and helpful and had great senses of humor, were helpful, generous, and know the area. They set a nice vibe. The rooms are Manhattan tiny, but the corp could do a better job of cramming what a guest needs into the small space.Never take luggage larger than a carry-on or collapsable.Thumbs up for having an ok size safe--but only for a small laptop or book. If you know what to expect--Its a really great option. And I would book a stay there again.
Spent 5 nights on the 12th floor room with my family. Excellent front desk staff, very friendly and helpful. Much appreciated on that front. Wish there was a common tip box instead of tipping individually. The hotel location is great. However, extreme noise from the construction next door which is expected to last for a few more months, impacts sleep. At times the noise starts at 0330 in the morning. The rooms are not as spacious as shown. More than one person moving around the room is a challenge due to lack of space. Spreading out suitcases (even the small bags) means jumping over them all the time. The bathroom doors have no locks and they provide very low quality toiletries. Anyways, had to endure the stay as they charge upfront for the entire duration of the booking. If I return to that part of town, I would look around for other options despite the average breakfast being a part of the deal. There are plenty of hotels in the vicinity for similar prices.
Hotel was a great choice for our long weekend visit. Room was a little small but I can’t complain too much as it’s NYC. Construction next door was loud in the mornings, but nothing the hotel could do about that. Only issue we found was that the breakfast was lacking compared to similar hotels. Great location and comfortable beds. Got enough rest and had a great time in the city.
Excellent location, close to many attractions within walking distance. Super friendly staff and clean rooms. Moderately priced. My only issue is the building next door, under construction and with kitty-sized rodents that dont run away from you!Just cross the street if on foot, or approach from the other corner.
The location of the hotel is perfect . the amazing staff were pleasant, attentive and competent. unfortunately , the construction next door and the sound level of noise from nearby rooms/ hallway were annoying. the breakfast was substantial but the hours limiting. only 7-930. lobby was festively decorated.
Stayed in Holiday Inn Express NYC during the holidays was not a bad idea. Some pros and cons, like any other hotels:Pros:Location is good near Times SQFree BreakfastClean roomPlenty of Parking lots “st. meters”Cons:Extremely Very tiny room! Standard with 2 bedsNo mini barNo microwaveElevators are so slow and one of them was out of order!
Im local but looking for a new apartment. I decided to stay here and it was definitely the best choice for me. The staff here fo above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Everyone is so friendly. Its on W 29th so its pretty quiet. The check in was fast and I extended a week with no problems. I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming into the city who just needs a place to feel safe and lay their heqds. In NYC its a chore to find a hotel that the staff actually likes their jobs. You can tell here that the staff actually enjoys coming into work. They are still offering breakfast which is great. I will continue to stay at this location until I find a new place Thank you everyone your amazing!
Great location, near MSG and area restaurants. We drove in from LI and had difficulty parking when checking in. The hotel had a parking price included with the room, so you could get paid parking a few blocks away. The parking lot was barely labeled and hard to find because of scaffolding. The beds were comfortable but the construction out on the street woke us up at 7am after a very late night.
This is a great hotel near Penn station in Chelsea, its got breakfast included and its near some good restaurants and the university and the subway. It is a good location in the heart of the city not far from all the tourist attractions and things you want to see and do. You can even walk to times square or whatever you want if you are ready to explore the city this is a great hotel and clean
I enjoyed my stay, the bedding was super clean and comfortable and the bathroom was clean and neatly put together with fluffy towels that cuddle you. I would have preferred to have a better view than a brick wall and I would have loved to be able to swim, other than that it was a relaxing stay. .overall it was a decent location for the price not to mention a welcome hot breakfast included in the price, so many hotels are giving a piece of fruit and bottled water instead of real breakfast so, the hot breakfast was an absolute bonus.
I enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Inn. The guest service and staff were great. The food service servers were wonderful and conscientious. The only real complaint I would have is that the desk in my room was a bit worn and needed to be upgraded. The drawer would not close properly. I would recommend the hotel. The service and folks are wonderful and efficient.
We had to make a last minute change for our accomodations and the Holiday Inn Express was a great choice for us. Good bargain for the money in Manhattan. It was clean and the front desk staff was pleasant. Things to improve: a mini fridge would be really helpful for families like ours; one of our rooms had an upholstered bench that had large stains on it.
The room was a nice size even though the king size bed took up most of the space. It was very comfortable. The bathroom was very nice as well. Check in and check out was simple and easy. The only thing I wasnt happy about was the obligated resort fee. We did not use any of the resort amenities. I feel that was an overcharge and they shouldve asked before charging me. Otherwise everything was great.
Hotel is a wonderful value… you are centrally located between Times Square/Broadway and the Village/Financial District and the price is affordable. Safety protocols are in place…hotel is quiet, clean. Staff is friendly, helpful. You can’t do better for the price! I highly recommend!
Once e we arrived, we were welcomed by the front desk. The night associate was super nice, friendly and amicable. We felt relieved. After a speedy check in, we were given our keys and complementary water. The room was nice and spacious, the breakfast was warm and enjoyable and our stay was pleasant.. what more could you ask. I do have to say the best part of our stay was when we arrived and had to check in. And were greeted. by friendly associate.
The stay was excellent for the price. The customer service was great, beds were exceptional. The hotel/room could use some updating. Our phones in our room were both broken, also, there were cigarette burns in the desk. The breakfast was not the greatest but it was fine.
All staff was very friendly. Easy check in and check out. Rooms are small, but clean. Staff kept it clean with fresh linens. Minimal options for breakfast. We were able to get in our room an hour earlier than check in and the day we left we were able to keep our luggage there as our train didn’t leave until 5:30pm so we spent more time in the city. Close to Penn Station, short walk to Times Square. Highly recommend!
The hotel has great location. The room was clean with comfortable bed, AC, clean bathroom with fresh towels. Breakfasts were great with big choice of food and beverages. Room service was expected to be better. Receptionist charged me twice for the room that I did not expect. It was stressful stay as I went to reception about 5 times to solve my problems with payment and room cleaning.
Staff was very nice upon arrival. They gave us restaurant recommendations close by. They also gave us complimentary water and a baked good gift for our Anniversary. Beds are super comfortable. Location is not to far from Penn Station. Breakfast was good as well. Really no complaints. Wish the room was bigger but thats the norm in the city and was to be expected.
I wasnt expecting much of this hotel, but to be honest, it was an amazing experience. From the day of our arrival to the day of our departure, the process was very easy. The front staff people were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and nice. The beds were very comfortable, and I was able to have a good sleep after a very tired day of walking around the city. The only thing we didnt like was the oatmeal prepared just with water and no milk. The hotel is located walking distance to many attractions like Times Square, the Edge, and the Empire State building. Also very close to many subway train stations.
Firstly, the front desk staff were absolutely amazing. They granted me an early check in and late check out and sought to deliver a very high level of service at all times. Extra towels and room items were delivered promptly at all times. A big disappointment was the lack of the traditional HI Express breakfast. All New York restaurants were open and serving but still the limited pandemic breakfast was the only food offering.
The room cleanliness was below average. The dirty carpets left my socks brown. Room and bathroom extremely small but I guess that’s exactly how all rooms are in NYC. The house keeping staff did not speak any English and made it difficult when asking for room supplies. No vending machines or market available except behind the checkin desk. Hotel is conveniently located and short walks to MSG etc.
We stayed a single night. We were greeted warmly as if we were friends. The staff were great, Hotel was clean. Even though we did not have breakfast we could see that there were quite a few things and people were certainly taking advantage of the breakfast. Room was a bit noisy in terms of noise from hall and adjacent room, but that happens even at much more expensive places. All told a nice stay.
We had a fantastic stay at the nice, boutique hotel NYC Chelsea HIEx. It was a great location for us, only a couple of blocks to the subway, and a short walk to Time Square. The staff was great, especially Richard on the front desk!! He was incredibly helpful and friendly. He went out of his way to make our stay successful. We absolutely will stay here again!
One of the employee is awfull. Our check in was chaotic. Also, they said you cant get points if reserved through a third party and Im convinced thats not true. The problem was they got my name wrong and forgot a space between middle and last name...Room itself is ok but may have been cleaner. There were many hair in the bathroom.Breakfast is of very poor quality with few choices.Id agree with no room service because of covid if there was some kind of discount to it. For the price we paid, Id expect to have my trash taken out and my room cleaned daily!
This hotel is a walk from Penn Station and central to all sites… including Times Square and Broadway. Do you want to stay in a reputable, chain hotel with a professional staff, clean rooms and not pay Manhattan prices. Look no further than Holiday Inn Express Chelsea. BtW the bathroom upon arrival was sparkling clean. So kudos to Housekeeping staff!Thank you.. 3rd time staying here.
The hotel is in a great location in terms of walkability, but the street along the entrance can get crowded with homeless people. When I arrived, they were storing sheets in the doorway and there appeared to be homeless people laid out. The rooms are really small and the bathroom wasn’t spotless which I don’t like. I would recommend this place, it feels like a motel with hotel prices.
Over all it was OK but the living space is very limited. NYC is nothing like Texas. I guess everything is bigger where we live. Enjoyed our visit it was different but the walking was something else. But we did come to a decent place to sleep. We didnt ask for our room to be cleaned bc honestly who changes sheets every day.
The hotel’s location is great, near the terminal which is convinient for guests commuting via coaster or train. We were also allowed to check in earlier than the regular check in time with pre-arrival notification. Staff on duty was very accommodating. Linens and towels were fresh, bed was so comfy. Breakfast though has limited choices, this could be upgraded not to be confined with sliced bread and muffin and cereals. Slippers and cotton buds were not also provided but granted when asked for coffee refiill. Overall stay was great and will definitely recommend.
Nice hotel in the middle of Chelsea. All staff, especially the front desk team and house keeping team are nice and very attentive. The minus point is that there are many homeless people infront of the hotel which is raised our concern on security AND some of guests have smoke the weed inside the hotel (very bad smell).
Small room with clean bathroom BUT yes there is a TV but no remote control! Have informed the staff at the front desk 3 times ( 3 different people because I had to remind 3 times at different times of the day! My problem is not resolved. My room was not cleaned, the bed was not made the wastebins not emptied. Obviously no housekeeping entered the room. I will not stay at this hotel önce again and would not recommend to anyone!
Its ok but not more than that. Rooms are functional but not getting cleaned during your stay anymore. Breakfast is American standard. Location is good. Water pressure at the room could be better but at least the water is hot.If you are holiday inn members you will not get credit points unless you booked directly through the holiday Inn site. Very disappointing.
Great location (close to Madison Square garden) and therere pharmacy, 7-Eleven, and t-mobile just few blocks a way.The crew are nice and kind.But.. the elevator and the room itself are a bit stinky of dust. Second, the AC is noisy(after calling for maintenence, still didnt solved the problem). They went short on soap and shampoo, so we have received a tiny bottle of shampoo for 2 adults. And unfortunately, breakfast is not that welcoming (very basic, better go and grab something from a bagel store nearby)
Fantastic Location, close to Madison Square Garden. NY suprema pizza(8 on barstool pizza by Dave), and gardeneria deli are on the block (bother recommend) along with a bunch of other things to do. Hotel was CLEAN, staff was helpful, breakfast exceeded expectations, be as very comfortable, room was quiet, easy pickup for Uber, close to the 1 line subway, and they kept our bags after check out to allow us to spend the day exploring before our flight out. Would definitely stay here again!
I stayed at this hotel for a long weekend. Ive stayed at other Holiday Inn Expresses before and this one was in a convenient location, but my stay at this hotel was one of the worst experiences Ive had from all the IHG hotels Ive been to. Almost everything you could think of went wrong. Our keycards stopped working several times. We had to get new ones from the front desk and the only thing the worker said to us was, its sensitive. When we asked for more towels the worker who brought them to our door mustve been having a really rough day because he looked extremely upset and when we asked where the ice machine one he told us it was currently broken. Our hairdryer in our room also was broken so I told the front desk and the guy who came to replace it was extremely rude as well. Initially, he didnt believe our word that it was broken and demanded he takes a look before finding a replacement, even when my friend was in the shower he wanted to go in and look at the hairdryer in the bathroom. After confirming for himself that it really was broken he brought a new one and replaced it. After we used it once, the new one also stopped working. One night, we wanted to raise the temperature and set it to 75 degrees, after a few minutes we start smelling something burning in our room and we realized it was coming from the vent so we immediately turned the thermostat back down. We were too scared to turn it back up so we kept it at a low temperature the entire stay which got to be really cold at night. Overall, Im glad we were mostly outside our room for the majority of the day.
We were looking for a room with a jacuzzi, this hotel had a great value. The jacuzzi is a bit small for 2 people and the way the bathroom is arranged, there’s a sliding door in the middle which doesn’t offer a lot of privacy. The mattress and pillows were super comfortable but we didn’t get much sleep because our room was on the 1st floor and you could hear everything outside the middle of the night in the hallway. The staff decided to vacuum at 3 am which also didn’t help. It seems like a good hotel, close to Penn Station although the neighborhood is a little sketchy.
I have stayed at many Manhattan hotels over the years but this one will be very high on my list in the future.1) This location is incredibly convenient for train travelers, just 2 1/2 blocks from the beautiful new Moynihan Train Hall. 2) The elevators are fast! (Some hotels, it feels like you spend a ridiculous amount of your time there just waiting for your elevator to arrive.)3) Sound insulation is remarkably good. There is major construction going on in the empty lot immediately adjacent to the west end of the hotel (near my room) but it was not terribly bothersome. On the other hand, my fourth floor room did get a fair amount of street noise, but again, not too bad as long as the window was closed.4) Great climate control (and very responsive. For enviromental reasons, I would increase the thermostat settings before leaving my room. When I returned, I could count on a quick return to comfort.)5) Breakfast selections were simple but great. I loved the Chobani yogurt (a great NY-based source) and Belvita breakfast biscuits. Breakfast of coffee, yogurt, and those delicious biscuits was a great way to start my day of adventures roaming around the city, I liked that the outdoor seating was more inviting and capacious than other hotels where I have recently stayed in Manhattan.6) Awesome location for exploring the city. Easy walking distance to subways, buses, trains, going everywhere. All kinds of restaurants and little shops for getting food and drink nearby. Easy walk (five blocks) to a Whole Foods. My room had a fridge and microwave, which was very convenient. (But it appears from other comments that not all rooms do?)7) Very friendly and helpful front desk staff. 8) Fun and fascinating quirky businesses on the street: a French import shop (French Wink) and Magnet Theater (improv) just steps away.
Great location two blocks from Penn Station, attentive employees when making reasonable request e.g. storage for luggage, towels, etc and a decent breakfast to sustain oneself in the morning. Two draw backs, the rooms are a tad dated and furniture was worst for ware e.g. drawers were broken and bulky for the size of the room.
I was very pleased with my stay at this location. The staff is very professional. Very clean throughout entire facility. Very nice area set up in front of Hotel to sit outside and people watch. Good Italian restaurant just 3 store fronts away with pleasant outside seating. I would stay here again when returning to NYC,
We booked a room in the Chelsea neighborhood to be in a central location. The front desk team was friendly. The hotel seemed clean. The main issue was an open construction site directly next door. Thankfully it was the weekend and we didnt hear any noise. The breakfast was adequate considering the pandemic health restrictions. Our initial room seemed small and had a safety and privacy issue with the door having a gap. We were quickly moved to another room on the same floor. The maintenance team should verify the smoke detector works in each room. We enjoyed restful sleep in our second small and clean room. I would stay here again with family.
I guess I got the short straw and was placed in the small room. It is hard to share with two other family members (good thing, my son did not come with us). Staff made up the smallness of the room. But they dont really clean the room well. I found dust under the TV (the gap space between tv and the drawers so it was disgusting. Due to COVID-19, you get breakfast to go but it is better than nothing and I saved some of the breakfast during our excursion in the city so we dont have to buy food on the street. We booked months in advance and during the peak of the pandemic and before vaccines roll out. So we got a good deal. For some reason, I saw that parking was free, but it was not. 2 nights 3 days will cost you 170 to park. Next time, we will just use the bus or train to come to the city since the NYC subway can get you around easily. No need to use a car at all. We had a great time and this was a gift to my husband for his birthday so he had a blast.
I enjoyed your stay and Holiday Inn express 232 W. 29th St., New York, NY. The breakfast experience was not quite what I had hoped. That can be done better in the future. I did enjoy being close to all of my conveniences From this location. The staff was friendly and helpful the room was clean and overall I enjoyed my stay. I would definitely use this location again!
The location was perfect to access all of the hub locations in NYC. The subway is only a block away in either direction and there is plenty of shopping and food in the area. The front of the hotel could use a daily hosing to clean it up and the rooms need updating. I would have liked to see more of the security officers in the lobby for traffic control in the front of the building.
Stayed for a couple days in June 2021. Great location and bed comfort though the breakfast lacked due to covid-19 situation, cereal, yogurt, toast and cream cheese but no bagels and no hot breakfast items. No refrigerator in the room if you decide to bring water with you from outside, especially in the summer. That was a bummer. Parking was not offered and we didn’t ask. We parked kn the street which often was a pain and took lots of driving around to find a spot. Street cleaning and other restrictions make it difficult for parking in the city and it can get very expensive. Overall a good stay since the beds were very comfortable, room was clean and water pressure was good.
The door of our hotel room was not closing properly, therefore we heard everything that happened outside the room. The cleanliness level could be improved.Except for the receptionist that helped us with the check-out, the staff was quite arrogant and unhelpful. The location was good.Overall, we wouldn’t return here next time.
Nice and affordable hotel. I had a terrible experience with my Airbnb at the middle of the night I had to look for an hotel ASAP. I was directed to this Hotel, and the staff is the nicest on earth, really they are always attentive. The check in was smooth and fast. The cleaning process is also quick. If I go back to NYC definitely this will be my first option.
This property is actually quite nice, the front desk staff is nothing short of amazing, Anthony, the night clerk is the most friendliest guy you could meet, inviting conversation and very intelligent. The ability to have our two fur babies with us was so relative to our being able to enjoy our vacation. The lady in charge of housekeeping is also beyond real, super friendly and outgoing, with such a keen eye on projecting what one may need before they ask for is is amazing, we were totally amazed with the manager as well, I dont recall her name, but she has a welcoming smile that is addictive, and she actually listens to ones concerns, the elevator was out for a few minutes, but Anthony had it fixed in no time at all.I was a bit put off by the no breakfast and no coffee issue, I have come to expect such things these days in my expansive travels, albeit, not at this particular hotel. That is the only thing I would change, had the opportunity presented itself, especially since there is no coffee shop near by where a 300 lb man wants to walk to to get coffee.., In closing, we will stay at this property again very soon, with pleasure.
This hotel is a short walk from Penn Station. It is also convenient to public transportation. The staff member we dealt with was extremely accommodating and had a welcoming smile and demeanor. The room was small but had a comfortable king size bed with great sheets. The bathroom had a tub, which many hotels no longer have. It was super clean. We would return here!
Check-in was a breeze! Staff were friendly, informative, and always available. Breakfast was available for a reasonable time frame, and offered a wide variety of breakfast products to select from. The room was cozy and clean, and had one plug on either side of the bed at a convenient range.
We arrived in New York after a long haul so we found this hotel extremely easy to locate and actually very friendly front desk. The rooms were super comfy and clean however the breakfast was crowded and to be honest I expected a little bit better quality items from Holiday inn but it is called expressed for a reason.I would recommend this place but think about your breakfast in advance!
The rooms are clean, the showers and bedding are pristine - but what really makes this hotel a home away from home is the service. Particularly from an individual by the name of Anthony. Anthony made my stay here truly otherworldly. Anthony’s service and attitude toward his work are excellent. From his helpful attitude to his riveting conversation, he was the epitome of hospitable.
The good people at Chelsea Holiday Inn responded enthusiastically to our questions about local fare and attractions within walking distance. They know the neighborhood and clearly enjoy turning out-of-towners on to the block-by-block cafes, eats, stores and shops that usually only locals know. It was fun returning to the Hotel and sharing where wed been, and being playfully quizzed about which cafe or restaurant wed been to and debating menu choices. It was the Hotel that introduced us to the High Line, telling the story of the long struggle between developers and the neighborhood, now one of our most favorite things about NYC!
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 5 nights and it was an amazing time. The atmosphere felt very relaxed. I found some hair in the bathroom, there’s no streaming apps on the TV and I was not a fan of the orange juice but other than that, definitely will be returning!
Very nice people!!!!They answer all my question in time and in a very nice way.Rooms were small but perfect for owr needs. As you dont clean rooms daily because of COVID 19 protocols towels dont get dry easy, we had to hang them in the tv, doors etc. Rooms dont have hangers for towels.
I first booked 2 rooms in Holiday inn 6th ave Manhattan (26th st) for 5 nights and have confirmation of the same through e-mail/couple of calls well before arriving at in the day of arriving but still at the time of checking- in I have been denied for rooms. Gentleman at the front desk politely told us that it was a “higher management” decision to go of our room and de used me for availability of another be one. This all happened at 11pm in the night when my family was waiting outside while it was raining. I had to book rooms in another hotel on my own dime that was double of price that I first booked for this hotel. Front desk suggested me to book it in Holiday inn express (29th st) but they never did it on their own which I was expecting as I was denied room in first hotel despite it wasn’t my fault. Me and my familyt has to go through a lot before setting down that night and I was planning to get this feed to IHG management after I finish my vacation as I didn’t wanted to spoil the mood for rest of my vacation.
Hotel is ok but... if you ever wondered where the garbage patch in the middle of the ocean comes from, this is a good candidate. Every guest gets a plastic water bottle each day, everything in the breakfast buffet is either plastic (forks, knives, spoons, cups) or wrapped in plastic. Would it kill you to wash a mug every once in a while? Because youre certainly killing the planet. Also, you better be vaccinated, because breakfast time is like that scene from the hunger games, good luck social distancing while elbowing your way to the plastic wrapped bagels.
Positive: Clean hotel, with friendly staff, in a location with plenty of access to different modes of transportation anywhere. Negative: There is only one ice machine for the entire hotel, which never has any ice, even at 1:00am on a Friday morning and the shower has hardly any water pressure. They¿ll also hit you with a ¿destination fee¿ as an extra money grab.
This hotel is like a shack to be honest. Very bare bones, tiniest hotel room I’ve stayed in, the space is collectively smaller than my bedroom at home. There is no microwave or fridge, plus the tv and phone does not work. There was a musty moldy smell when we walked in that appears to cling to the walls and the sheets, even when we turn on the air. To top it all off, the lady at the front desk tonight was rude and dismissive. Steering clear of this location in the future.
Positive: Incredibly convenient spot for heading out to Newark airport at ungodly early hour of the morning. Comfortable bed, comparably big room, cozy chair, big window, staff that gave you an arm fill of ice cold bottles of water! Really nice outdoor seating Negative: No
The rooms are gross. There was dried who-knows-what on the curtains, walls, and ceilings!! Ugh. BUT! For the location and proximity to things we wanted to be near it gets 4 stars. If not it’s a straight 3 star hotel. I say spend the extra money and book a nicer hotel a little farther away.
I have traveled all over the world, staying in all level of accommodations from huts in remote villages to top of the line hotels in big cities. I have never, never, stayed anywhere that had the sparkling cleanliness of this place. It was amazing. It was so squeaky clean that I noticed it! Even in five star hotels Ive become used to a little less than perfect cleaning, especially in bathrooms. Not here, though. After noticing how pristine everything was, I started hunting for at least one place in the bathroom that was missed, or a bit dingy or discolored, and couldnt find anything. The breakfast buffet was exceptional, too. I had read reviews that said there was a long wait for a table, and I could imagine it might be with the limited space available, but even though the hotel was jammed packed full, my companion and I never had to wait.Whatever time of night or day, the staff was friendly, efficient, and wanting to help. Great people. I had heard how abrupt and surly New Yorkers were, but not here. Great folks.
My first room had both a telephone and television which did not work. The floor outside the room had papers littering it. I was moved to a different room in which almost everything worked. I did have to have an electrician come in though once to fix the room thermostat. The only other problem was with my key which three times needed to be recharged. The desk staff was very accommodating.
I enjoyed my visit at the Holiday Inn Express New York City, Chelsea. The room was clean and the staff were polite and helpful.I was able to relax. I compared my stay to my recent stay at a Holiday Inn Express in Connecticut. I would have preferred if my hotel room in the city did also have a mini fridge and microwave. Other than that my stay was enjoyable.
My stay at this hotel was pleasant, I had no issues with the hotel. They were very responsive and nice. The only issue I had was the price because I am a frequent visitor to NY, but it was worth it, so I didnt think about it afterwards...(grumbled on my way there(*_*)
The stay was better this time then the last couple of times, I’m still waiting for my deposit to be refunded. Staff seemed on edge the last couple of times and was worried about how long guests are staying and why they are staying at their hotel. This time they were not paranoid and did more cleaning. For the most part, they seem to be getting back to being professional and hospitable. I don’t know if there’s new management but this year started off horribly with this hotel. The overnight staff is friendlier. Also, Rich does a good job and he knows exactly what I need . I like Anna too, everyone is okay but I feel collectively there’s a dark presence that took over and it’s oppressive. I don’t know if there’s new management but something is not the way it used to be.The hotel staff has to be mindful of when they’re cleaning to not yell in the hallways while people are trying to work or sleep, to not speak disrespectfully to guests and to not pound on guest’s doors to speak with them or to barge in on them(these have happened to me in the past but kept quiet about it for months because I like to give people chances) I understand working in hotels comes with perks and you get to have your friends and family stay there and that’s fine, but at the end of the day remember it’s still an international business and not a family owned company. I miss the pleasant service and cleanliness. I saw a glimpse of it coming back this stay but who knows, next time I come back it could not be so good of an experience. I know it’s tough times for everyone but it’s a pandemic and there’s depression and anxiety out there . Don’t make things worse for your guests. Remember to smile and do your job. I have to do that for my job. Everyone has to.
I do not recommend this hotel. It is cheap compared to others but you can tell why. My toilet was blocked three times, they came solved it but immediately after that, got blocked again. The breakfast is a joke. The smell of the bedsheets was bad. Everything was bad about this hotel.
This place is the best hotel I have ever in my whole life been too, there staff is amazing the morning to the afternoon to the night if I could give them hotel award of the year they would have it. I believe that Anna the shift manager really relates to the staff needs and they understand each her and they communicate to one another which make a wonderful place to visit if I havent said Thank You Anna and your staff for making Holiday Inn Express in Chelsea a place that I can call home me and my family love this place thanks to you Anna you give me a piece of mind when leave and come back knowing that my things will be safe and that I am safe 10 stars I got so much to say but not enough time. Thank you everyone.
Comfortable and clean hotel, nice location, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast choices are limited to gluten/carb options. I had to find breakfast with protein options at local restaurants, adding unexpected expenses to my trip. It would be nice to see a couple of simple protein options, like scrambled eggs or even hard boiled eggs.
Friendly, helpful staff offer you a hotel stay within walking distance to Penn Station. Comfortable, quiet, safe rooms make this a hotel to try whether you are looking for a quiet retreat or a day of shopping in Manhattan. Just small enough that you are not rambling through the halls looking for your room. Why not give it a try?
No privacy. Phone didn’t work. Nobody came to clean the room. Room is Soooo tiny geez. Its not about the size it’s the way they position their furnitures. Like nothing was well thought out. I’ve stayed in “Inns” before but this is by far the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Periodt.
My wife and I were there for five days this month. The room was very comfortable and clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable. There was always coffee in the lobby. Im not a breakfast eater, but my wife said the breakfast was also good. We didnt have a single complaint during our stay.
My room smelled of mildew and was humid, AC barely worked. My bathtub had long black hair in it. My hair is pink and blue. The bathtub had soap scum. I had to go to Duane Reade to buy Clorox and soak the tub as well as buy frebreze to mask the mildew . I then disinfected my entire room with alcohol. The tv went out a total of 6 times during my stay. I didnt wanna bother arguing with the front desk to switch rooms. I have a feeling all the rooms were dirty Also I was roomed next to children, or was legit screaming, jumping and crying all day and night. ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT. Do not advertise breakfast included and charge me $40 extra ! For no breakfast. This is a hotel you take your side piece to . Only good thing was the ladies checking me in. As for the night crew, they were completely unaware of who was walking in and out! There were a lot of sketchy people outside
The room was small, but very clean and the bed was beyond comfortable. Shades blocked the outside light. Overall everything was great. I am 99% sure the hotel is housing homeless on the second floor, but unless you intentionally go to the second floor, you would not know and it did not impact my stay whatsoever.
This property is nice for a NYC hotel at this price point. I have stayed here twice and both times the room was impeccable clean and comfortable. Now this is NYC so the rooms are small but the space is well designed. The bed was comfortable and the tv worked with good selection of channels. The heating worked well and I was able to get a comfortable temperature. However the window unit is pretty loud and when it is turning on and off it can be hard to sleep. I did fall asleep and was awakened by someone shouting out on the street (I was on the 8th floor). But this is NYC and there are people yelling in the street nothing the hotel can do about that. Breakfast in the morning was great, I was able to get some oatmeal and most importantly COFFEE before heading out. So nice that it is included. Oh and I was also able to get some tea before bed which helped me go to sleep. However they only had decaf black tea no herbal selection. I suggest bringing some tea with you as they do have hot water but tea selection is limited.
Please read comments. The hotel was fine. The staff at the front desk during the day were very helpful and great. At night the lobby became sketchy. Groups of people not wearing masks . I also had the impression that the hotel may have been used as a emergency shelter. Which is not what I was looking for
The room was clean and we received a few welcome snacks upon the check-in which was a very nice gesture. I wonder if they provided complimentary snacks because we visited during the holidays. Our stay was great. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was busy, but good. The lobby was beautifully decorated for the holiday season. The location was perfect. Its close enough to Theater district, shopping on the 5th avenue and the High Line. There are only a couple of small things I can complain about. First, it is the way the bathroom is set up. It has an additional glass door that opens into the bedroom. It frequently made noise when the wooden door closed. I also didnt like that the glass door didnt close all the way and didnt block many sounds. Second, I noticed that our housekeeping took away the soap we opened just the day before and replaced it. I find it very wasteful. This has happened at another Holiday Inn I stayed at earlier this year, so Im not sure if theres a new policy that calls for it.
I appreciated the gift bag of goodies upon arrival as well as the breakfast served every morning. It was nice to grab something to eat early in the day without leaving the hotel. The location is central to a lot of great restaurants and activities. It was nice to be a tourist in my own city. I’d come back the next time I’d like to stay in Manhattan.
Very pleased with the convenience of the hotel location in the city. Easily accessible. I was happy with the convenience of check in very organized and friendly staff. The rooms were clean, breakfast had a great variety to choose from. Dining area is a little small but was seated quickly. I was pleased with the valet service provided in the city and the cost as well as how accomadating and help the staff and valet were. Over all great convenient experience. I would stay there again.
I have been staying here for years whenever I need to stay overnight in NYC. Its very convenient to walk to after arriving at Penn Station. The staff are always friendly, entire hotel is always clean, and the beds/pillows are very comfortable. They have a nice variety of options on the breakfast buffet that is included. It can get very crowded at breakfast, as its a small dining area, but they have done a good job of maximizing the seating in the area. The rates here are reasonable for NYC. Overall, I highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express Chelsea.
The hotel is located conveniently to subway and to some major sites. The area itself is a little bit grubby but that seems to be the case for a lot of manhattan. The staff are very helpful and attentive. The common area downstairs has a dining room with a reasonable breakfast which was included in our rate. The coffee is pretty good. We reserved a room with 2 double beds as we were a party of 3 so our room was pretty cramped. the beds were comfortable but the pillows were a bit lumpy. The bathroom was very clean and the towels were soft and new looking. The hotel has 2 lifts servicing 15 floors and also the service staff so at times there were long wait times so if that is the sort of thing that would grind your gears you should take it into account.
The driver dropped me off at a different holiday inn close by. But once I managed to get here everything ran smoothly. Unfortunately an unexpected road construction event occurred in the middle of the night. Called the lobby and was switched to another room on the other side of the hotel
Overall the stay was awesome the room was beautiful, but if anyone is booking the jacuzzi room just know the light switch by the tub has to be ln in order for the jacuzzi to work. If i was told andnj wish i had called the night to ask. I still enjoyed ny time in the tub but the jacuzzi would have been beautiful
Typical New York Hotel. Rooms are not too big, but were clean. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast is standard American breakfast. Coffee & tea were available pretty much the whole day long.Cookies were available at the lobby in the afternoon.Got stuck in the elevator once, but that was the fault of some other guests.Great place to start trips in NYC and also to Boston, Washington, Philadelphia etc as it is located near Pennsylvania Station.
Fantastic place to stay! Great location only 1.2 miles from Grand Central & less than 5 minute walk to Madison Square Garden. Clean premises with modern, well-appointed rooms. Bed was very comfortable. Rooms were quiet with minimal ambient noise. Super-friendly staff. Great hot breakfast. Hot coffee available all the time is a bonus. Will stay again!
If you arent worried about a lot of amenities and are just looking for clean and value, this is a great choice. I would stay here again without hesitation. Note: They only had one working elevator so at times the waits were long. However, the rooms are clean and the hotel quiet. Lots of good places to grab a quick and easy meal close at hand. Easy access to the subway.
Room service never cleaned our room during our stay. During a pandemic there most be more cleaning protocols, not less. We payed for breakfast and they just gave an orange juice and a muffin in a bag... I would appreciate you specified that in the website so I would’ve reconsidered my choice...
Our stay at the Holiday Inn Express Chelsea was good. Our room was clean. The WIFI worked. We had fresh towels and clean beds. We were one block from the subway, so it was convienent for travel. We enjoyed saving money with our complimentary breakfast each morning. (Go down early if you are traveling around a NY holiday.) Overall, I have few complaints. It was a little pricey, but everyone was there for the parade. Enjoy your stay!
Over fair experience. Room could have used a little more thorough cleaning prior to arrival, especially bathroom and the kuerig. Bought the parking package and wasnt able to use it because garage turned me away saying they wouldnt accept cars from the hotel, they sent me to another garage that also turned me away. front desk staff were unable to help so I had to wait until Monday for the manager. Luckily they refunded the parking, but was inconvenient and expensive parking a car in another garage.
After checking in to a different hotel, we had to change. In a foreign country we went online knowing the quality of a holiday inn would be perfect. Checked in late at night. Brilliant service from staff and very happy with comfy beds, lovely clean bathroom with fluffy white towels. Breakfast was plentiful, and very fresh and hot even though it was busy with a lot of visitors over the holiday period. The concierge was full of useful information and arranged for a free late checkout and a very reasonable shuttle bus to the airport. Love the holiday inn for the consistency throughout the world. Will always check them first.
The room was smaller than I expected, but it was perfectly clean and the bed was enormous and very comfortable. There was a high school group staying in the hotel as well and I didnt really hear much noise from them, so I think the rooms are well-insulated. The continental breakfast was pretty good (I really love make your own waffle stations and they had two waffle irons). For the location, its a great value for your money.
Great place to stay. I was very impressed with everything about this Holiday Inn Express. The staff was fantastic and the room was clean and had all the amenities in it. The free breakfast was way more than I expected with indoor and outdoor seating available. Great location just around the corner from Madison Square Garden and walking distance from the Chelsea Market and other great attractions. If you are driving I would definitely recommend using valet parking at the hotel or find a garage close by and hoof it. Remember to leave yourself plenty of time to get where you are going because driving in NY SUCKS.😜
The housekeeping staff was great. They left us a little welcome box with 2 bottles water, bag of chips and granola bar. It was a very nice and appreciated gesture. The free breakfast was a value-added bonus - well stocked, and clean with plenty of choices (if only the guests would be less rude). The room was typical NYC small but clean. The rooms lack space for storing luggage, coats, clothing, shopping bags, etc. We did stay four in the room so might be fine for two persons items. Only 2 small elevators for both guests and housekeeping to share. I recommend housekeeping place universally stocked carts on each floor and move the staff from floor to floor instead of taking the carts with them from floor to floor. Parking costs were almost as high as the room (with tax $80+ per night). This is my first IHG stay where I wasnt welcomed or recognized as a platinum elite member (or member at all) at check in nor during my stay at all. I always thought that was a nice touch that made me feel appreciated and was disappointed that the desk clerks couldnt extend the special welcome (seriously 5 words take zero effort). Instead I felt as if I was bothering them and keeping them from something more important. It was 9:30p when I checked in and not busy at all. Overall I am satisfied with my stay-just lacked the recognition of being a valued member that I am accustomed to with my IHG properties stays.
I was attending a conference and decided to stay at this hotel because of the proximity to the venue. The road to the hotel was not well lite and there was quite a bit of scafolding around the hotel. The area around the hotel was not clean and I didnt feel very safe but I guess this more the responsibility of the council i.e.outside the control of the hotel. The earlier reviews had similar comments but this still didnt prepare me for what I encountered. My room was small, even by central London standards. I had to put my second suitcase on the sofa.Overall, I dont think I really got value for money.Kasper and the concierge were very helpful. The common areas could do with some remodelling.I was touched by the complimentary gift pack on my return journey.
Great stay and convenient. Rooms are small, so website pictures are false advertisement. Breakfast great; however, small breakfast area and gravy too peppery and needs more additions like hash browns, bacon, etc. Best coffee Ive ever had. You also need more that two elevators for as many rooms as you have. One elevator was broke for a while which was a nightmare. Overall, I enjoyed my stay.
Holiday inn always exceed our experience. The hotel is close to the subway and many restaurants. We decided to stay here because everything was walking distance and we wanted to stay safe in a big city. The rooms were small but that didnt bother us also at night it could get loud. The staff were very friendly and the food area was always clean. If you want to stay in a hotel close to everything this is the place, If your looking to stay in a quite zone/big rooms then Ill recommend staying somewhere else. New York is a Big city and it can get very loud,it all depends on the season you come in but for us coming from San Francisco was very similar to our city.
This is a convenient location to all the major sites. The hotel was very clean however, the rooms are very small and this made relaxing a challenge. We were out each day so it wasnt terrible just uncomfortable. The beds and pillows were great, bathroom had no counter space both areas very clean.
A stay for a difficult concern. With breakfast service only availe as the buffet a bit difficult with a personal walker. The proximity to church is within block and a half walking distance. A staff person in the breakfast room helped me out immensely even seating me at a lobby table because of crowding in the breakfast room.
I stayed here over the 2019 holiday season. Hotel room was clean and tidy during my stay. Hot water and coffee were always available in the lobby, in addition to breakfast. Having an elevator out of service during the time was bad. Experienced waits up to five minutes during peak times (mornings, evenings). Once elevators arrived, they were at capacity (crammed with grumpy new yorkers). No easy option to take stairs. Ill stay elsewhere the next time I visit my family here.
Holiday Inn Express is great because it is so reliable. Few frills, but clean and efficient, wherever you are in the world. This one in Chelsea is well located for many events in NYC - sports, business, leisure. Rooms are small, but otherwise its just want you want for a central, low cost place to stay, for a quick biz trip or with family. Dont expect glamor or luxury or much space. But if you know what to expect from Hol Inn Express, this one is great value. Front desk are expert and helpful. Two things to note: only 2 elevators, and these can we slow at peak times. So consider using the stairs to go down. Or allow a few extra minutes. Breakfast area is small and crowded, so leave your bags in your room. It was clean and well-stocked when I used it.
Mini vacation ruined lied to my fiance and I about the actual fee to stay for three nights a 188 something fee yes they said for three nights itd be 188 not per we even repeated back saying that yes its 188 not something turning into a 500 and some thing fee. Had to leave a day early, had to cancel our plans, and left with little to no money we obviously wouldnt have booked it if we knew how much it was actually because theres other hotels for much cheaper and honestly better. Yes some may say well maybe you should have saved more money but we wouldve been perfectly fine if we werent lied too. NEVER AGAIN will we be going back there.
This was the smallest room I have ever stayed in New York (and I have stayed in many)! I should have listened to reviews about size and the dodgy location (dark, lonely, dirty street). The room was beat up, but the bathroom clean (thank goodness). One floor had debris the length of the hallway, really felt like that place was a motel. It was way too expensive for what it is. Also, it felt like housekeeping was lurking outside the rooms for no reason. There were long waits for the elevator, when it was working. I give 1 star for being able to walk to the subway and shopping. I will tell people to avoid because you get better rooms/service/value elsewhere.
Workers on the elevators and coming in the room with no mask. When I asked him to put on a mask he said he would go get one when he was done. Asked at front desk to ask their workers to wear mask in elevator, she said she was too busy.Next time he tried to get on the elevator with me, no mask, I told him to wait for the next elevator. He called me crazy. Everyone else on the elevator said block him from getting on and we didOnly one elevator working for 15 +? Floors. Waiting up to 10 minutes each way.Breakfast packed, no masks no vaccination requirement.Dont clean rooms daily because of protecting you from CovidWhat a joke. Dont come here unless you are not concerned about covid risk
Great experience: location, walking distance to most locations and very close to subways stations. Service, good. Not outstanding but no complaints. Food, breakfast menu did not vary much from day to day but the food was great, filling, and appropriate. Elevators are very slow and rooms aare small but reasonable. A definite, huge plus was the 24/7 coffee & water. The room was available early so we were quite grateful for that. I stayed with friends for 10 days. 4 stars as there is room improve.
The Holiday Inn Express in Chelsea is a very good option for travelers who want to be in the middle of Manhattan. My usual choice would be something a little more out of the way, but even though the hotel is only two blocks from Penn Station, it managed to be quiet and comfortable. The rooms are sizable by Manhattan standards, which is saying something since most hotels have rooms little bigger than a closet. The staff here was attentive and friendly and the breakfast options were excellent, always a big plus when I dont have to venture out into the city for coffee and food before my day really begins.Overall, this was a winner, made doubly so by its location. I was within walking distance of all the big avenues and had plenty of dinner options within my block for when I was exhausted after a long day of wandering.
We took the Vamoose Bus from MD to NY which dropped us off at Penn Station and this hotel is only 1 block away, a perfect location. However, the street leading to the hotel had on-going construction and was very dirty, people throwing trash on the floor. The service was great, they can store your luggage after you check-out. Our room on the 10th floor was very nice and clean but not much of a view as we were facing another building. They had 2 elevators but one was out of order so the line for the elevator can be long at times. If you are in a hurry, youll need to take the stairs. Water, coffee and tea were available in the lobby at all time, which is a very nice touch.
Our stay was excellent. The front desk staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and a decent size for NYC. This hotel was a great value, especially with breakfast included. Used the valet service and had no issues. At 1st I thought it was too expensive but when researching prices for garages in the area, the valet was a bargain. If I had to make one complaint it would be about the elevators. There are only 2 very slow elevators and at some points in the day you would have to wait for several elevators to go by until you could fit in one.
Actually, I am highly recommend this hotel. Great CP value.1. Free for kids. The room is not really big, but is enough for our 4-person family.2. Great location. Near to metro line red & line blue(to the airport). And also near to the Penn station, which is easy to extend your journey.3. Free breakfast. Actually, the breakfast variety is not good, but is still acceptable. And it will save a lot of your money for eating in NY.4. Service is good, clerks are nice, the place is clean, .....
Had a wonderful experience. It started with a greeting from the front desk folks, assistance on parking, getting around town,And a choice of some fine restaurants. The room was clean, the bathrooms are clean, the bedrooms were comfortable, not much more than that to say. A side comment:Rooms were a little smaller than I’m used to but I understand that’s New York City!
Ive stayed at a lot of Holiday Inn Express hotels and have always enjoyed them. This one was fine but was not up to the standard I typically expect. The rooms were small and cramped and the breakfast area was small and cramped. The hotel staff were okay. Nothing special. But the room was clean, relatively quiet, and had nice beds. It met our needs and was in a good location. I would stay there again, but the cost is pretty high for the size of the room and facility.
This hotel is well situated for two key subway lines and only a five minute walk away from line E which takes travellers to the JFK airport. The hotel has an excellent lower mid-town position with proximity to Empire State , Macys and the Hi Line. Huge variety of bars and restaurants close by - and liquor stores. The rooms are very small (so much so that two people cannot move around the room at the same time), but offer all the usual facilities plus a safe; but no fridge. The wardrobes are ridiculously small and made even smaller as they are the storage for iron and ironing board. However, beds are comfortable as are pillows and noise level is very low. Public areas are minimalist and the breakfast times are very very crowded. We were given the option to eat in our rooms if necessary but as there are only two lifts it does not make sense to be constantly going up and down between courses. Food was average but plentiful. Free coffee 24/7 was good.Very surprised at check-out not to be given a receipt. We were told that one would be e-mailed to us. Four days later we are still waiting. However, we see from our bank account that the amount we expected it to be has been deducted... but a receipt would be welcome on check out. It is not current practice for clients to leave without a paper receipt, but despite asking twice this was refused.overall, this is a good bet because of location, but it is pricey given the size of the rooms.
We were checked in fast and with no problems, nice room clean and no complaints, One of the Elevators was broke but they had it fixed by the next day. Breakfast was good (pretty standard Holiday Inn Breakfast). On the day we left we were able to check in our luggage and do stuff until our shuttle pick up time. Hotel is located near several things to do and was a block from subway that would take you to others. So great location. Felt safe and comfortable at this hotel. I would recommended it
We very much enjoyed our stay. The short walk from Penn Station was super-convenient and the staff at the front desk when we checked in were EXCELLENT. So friendly and considerate. The elevator was not working one day so that was a little frustrating but it was fixed within 24 hours. Breakfast selection was varied and food was great. I would definitely stay there again.
Great location in a nice, quiet section between two main roads. Very close to the subway stop. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really good but breakfast area can get crowded quickly. Slept like a baby with a comfortable bed and great pillows. Only downside- we were on the 7th floor and could hear the nearby dance club bass rhythm. This went on till well past 3:00 am. Thank goodness for the pillows to put over my ears. Overall, a really nice place to stay.
First, I was given an occupied room . After I made the front desk aware, I was then given a double bed room. I reserved and paid for a king bed room on VALENTINE’S DAY!!!. The front desk told me they were sold out and that management would refund half of my money in the morning. The manager tells me that she can’t refund my money because I paid in cash.

2022-02-12The staff was exceptional and treated us like family we stayed for 9 days always greeted with a smile and how is your day. Anna took the time to decorate our room for my granddaughters 18th birthday it definitely made her day special. The staff would always make sure they delivered items we requested in a timely manner. Breakfast gave you an option of what you wanted to eat buffet style. Only thing I wish they would have furnished would have been coffee in the lobby 24 hours. There were 4 of us all adults so the room was to tight for 4 people but otherwise they were nice rooms. I do have to give the highest compliment to ANNA.

2022-06-02This review is for the front staff…Anna and crew are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met! I stay at this hotel often because of my work schedule (nights) and very long commute. I book it through DayUse. After staying here only a couple of times I was greeted, by name, as I walked in. Just amazing how welcoming and kind they all are! They go over and above to make sure you’re happy with everything. There’s a breakfast in the lobby every morning, which is great, and the women who work there are awesome and so helpful, esp Mary! Can’t say enough good things about them all! The option of staying here during the day to break up my commute, get some much needed sleep and shower before returning to work is SO convenient. Room is clean, bed is comfy and location is great!! To me, it’s worth every penny. I’ll definitely be staying here again…and again :)

2022-01-14Stayed here during a trip to NYC with 3 other friends. We chose it because it was cheap, so we expected cheap, but it was way beyond our expectations.Location is great.Room and bathroom was extremely clean.Free continental breakfast with hot food that seems to never run out of anything. They let us check in 5 hours early so we could settle in.Staff is very kind, whatever they’re getting paid, they need to be paid more.We were completely caught off guard by the free gift basket with snacks and drinks dropped off in our room.Beds were cleaned and made with new sheets while we were out.Amazing stay for the price. This is THE spot to stay.

2022-03-18Hotel was good. We stayed 4 night. Good location 15 minutes walking from Time square and great access with the subway. We picked Holiday Inn, since with them you know what to expect. Not surprises or guess on what hotel will match my price, like priceline. Its true, rooms are really small, especially for 4 adults.Breakfast was included and food was great with a great variety, food never run out the ladies in charge of the breakfast do an excellent job.Rooms were cleaned almost every day and we were greatly surprised by a customer appreciation box with good candy to enjoy after a long walking day at Manhattan.Reception desk also provided a great service and the bottles of water given every night we arrived to the hotel, were a great perk to have.

2022-07-05The staff were helpful and friendlyThe level of cleanliness was good for this level of hotel in Manhattan. One great thing was it had daily room service despite what you see recently on other places that it’s wither on demand or it does bot happen for the duration if your stay. The breakfast was decent. You have no views of the city as the building is surrounded by other taller ones.

2022-03-15Stayed in the city for one night and needed a quick place to stay, didn’t want to spend a fortune. This place was great! About as inexpensive as it gets, quality location and about as quick as a check in as I’ve ever had which was a perk at the time. It truly is express. Rooms are small but it’s NYC so expect it. I don’t think I’d stay here to visit with the family but you get what you pay for, great value.

2022-02-01Great location near Times Square and The Empire State Building. Clean hotel, pretty , friendly staff. Room is what I expected. The room had Tv, queen bed, A nice bathroom with tub, Clean towels.Breakfast was perfect: fruits, yogurt, cereal, sausage, bread, cereal, juices, coffee and several of delicious things. I will recommend this hotel 10/10.They should add microwaves or refrigerator.

2021-12-17This is my 2nd stay in Holiday Inn express after the first visit was very good. Have to say that this timeI was very disappointed from the hotel and service. We stayed for 6 nights and during that time our room was cleaned only once after we requesting it from the desk. The 2nd time we requested cleaning and changing towels nobody showed. Also there was terrible construction noises from the near building that woke up us every day at 7:00 am. We requested to change room but the other room was also facing the construction site. More to say that the elevator broke down in the last two days of our stay that caused longed waiting and too many people using it together which is very problematic during Covid 19 time. Say to say but after positive feedback about the hotel I will not returned in the future will not recommend to friends and family.

2022-03-19I enjoyed my stay here. First the ease of checking in by the staff, second my room was as I expected nice and clean with a King bed. Third, they did let me know about COVID-19 impact on room service (you had to call the main desk for garbage pick up or to ask for more towels), fourth they gave me the wifi password in a handy key card holder and lastly breakfast! Free breakfast included! I wasnt sure what to expect but it was a buffet style breakfast, nothing too big of course, but enough was served to fill my belly.

2022-03-26The room is very small. No daily housekeeping. So you need to ask for fresh towels, and to take the trash out.The bath is old and not clean. But the location is great. And the street is quiet. The staff are nice.
