No customer loyalty recognition. As an ihg platinum member i get the worst room in the inner corner. After i asked to switch to another room, there was no front rooms available, they gave me room and the far end at the gangway „242“ i hears the whole night my noighboor through the connection door.Next time, i book outside of the ihg brand.
I originally booked a king when I got to the hotel after 7pm and got into my room it was a double. I called the front desk I was told they had to change things around as they were busy and didnt have any clean rooms. The food was some of the worst Ive had at a hotel eggs and omelets were way over cooked, sausage luke warm, juice machine didnt work, pancake machine didnt work, sidewalks were Icey not cleaned off.
We truly enjoyed our stay. The room was nice and clean, and we slept well. Nice quiet night. Bathroom was a little small but served its purpose. We had the pool all to ourselves and my grand daughter loved that! Breakfast was provided safely and there was a fair amount of different choices. We will stay again!
By a happy accident (I forgot to get a Covid test prior to entering Canada), I wasforced to sleep in Plattsburgh, and we ended up enjoying the relaxing stay more than I would have enjoyed the longer trek up north! The room was absolutely pristine, the shower was luxurious, to say nothing of the incredibly comfortable beds. The breakfast had nice variety and plenty of hot options, the staff was warm and welcoming, and I enjoyed my stay so much that I’ll make Plattsburgh my base whenever I do make it to Canada for a day trip!
My wife and chose this hotel because of the location. Lots of convenient places close by including the highway. Staff was very friendly, the hotel was clean and bed was comfy. The pillows were a little challenge, but overall we had a nice stay. I would stay here again if were ever back in the area again. The only downside to the room was that the sink was in the room with the beds, so if someone wants to get ready for bed while anyone is sleeping, its hard to be quiet.Again, overall we had a good night stay and would stay here again!
We stayed one night and arrived much later than expected. The woman at the front desk was lovely - so kind and very helpful! The room was immaculate, the bathroom was spotless and the bed was very comfortable Breakfast had a lot of choices and the dining area was very clean and well maintained. I would definitely stay here again.
Our weekend here was as expected. The hotel has been recently renovated, which was nice. We enjoyed having a fridge and microwave in the room. The bathroom (shower and commode was tiny) but functional. We had issues with a malfunctioning toilet and due to the hotel being sold out we were not able to move rooms. The front desk person was as helpful as possible. There was no maintenance staff available until morning, Management was attentive.
Hotel was clean and comfortable. Rooms were nice and bed was great. There were 2 issues. 1. Outside doors were not accessible for entry. Room keys would not unlock the door, which meant having to walk to the front. Not a huge issue, but and inconvenience. 2. Breakfast was HORRIBLE. They had NOTHING but bacon and pancakes. No milk, yogurt, eggs, bread, pastries, oatmeal. They said they were out of everything. Somebody did some very poor planning when it came to ordering.
Staff was very friendly and helpful the entire stay. Rooms were nice and clean, beds were comfortable and walk in shower was very nice especially with the adjustable shower head from shower to jet setting. I wish the rooms were a foot wider, they are a little tight to walk through, and i wish there was a way to keep the air on without it shutting off or dropping temperature as it was run by thermostat and had no fan option to just circulate the air. Some things didnt quite match the website description, but nothing that impacts your stay. Over all was very nice, clean, comfortable, and easy with friendly staff.
Visiting daughter attending SUNY Plattsburgh so I am looking for the hotel to use over the next 4 years. Hotel is modern and very clean throughout the property. I work at a hotel so I am aware of staffing shortages and the challenges it presents.Room above average in newness and comfort. Bathroom is very small with sink in main guestroom area. Microwave and fridge very handy to have and both used. Check in was quick but lackluster, did not advise times for Breakfast or pool. Sorry this is where I excel as a hotel employee. Didnt use the pool or eat breakfast so cant comment. Plenty of parking and close to I87 exit. Yes you just might be the one.
Our goal was to see Burlington, VT and booked this hotel by accident, but it ended up being a happy accident! The hotel was clean and the staff were so friendly and helpful! Dining and downtown recommendations and tips to get to the VT ferry were easily understood. The pool was open and clean, and the breakfast was stocked and delicious. A accidental book became a perfectly happy stay for my family and I for the weekend!
It’s a pretty decent hotel. staff is always pleasant, friendly and helpful this is my third time staying at this hotel and my last recent stay i found the room was not vacuumed well enough and some surfaces were not fully cleaned. so a little disappointed but overall would still stay here again.
Positive: hotel cleanliness was great. There was problems with the toilet plumbing in the hotel. That needs to get fixed. Negative: Hotel was unable to change my booking date even though I had a valid reason for doing so. This happened to me twice. After complaining I was given 1 reserved room instead of the 2 rooms I asked for. Also, the staff at the front desk was very rude.
I write this negative review with a heavy heart. As a Driver Contractor I almost exclusively stay at IHG hotels, usually Holiday Inn Express. Holiday Inn Express hotels are overall great hotels except the Holiday Inn Express Plattsburgh. This hotel is clean, bed is comfortable, bathrooms very clean, outside appearance and landscape is supremely good. The following problems are however extremely serious concerning guests on Business staying multiple days. (1). They refuse to allow Business guests to pay cash daily. (2). They require Business guests to pay for multiple days, 4 to 7 in advance and they place a pending charge of the whole amount on the guests Credit Card. At the end of the final day the Holiday Inn Express arbitrarily and unilaterally force the Business guest to check out. Should the guest be away from the hotel on Business, the Front Desk orders the staff to remove the Business guests belongings from the room and the Business guest is Checked-Out. This hotel has no General Manager capable of helping Business guests avoid this disaster! They have what they call a Front Office supervisor who has no authority from Trustworthy LLC to help Business guests avoid this type of disaster. Ordinary single night stay guests do not experience this type of poor customer service. I do not recommend the Holiday Inn Express Plattsburgh to people in Plattsburgh, NY on Business!
As usual-Great overall experience. I think the biggest takeaway for my wife and I was just how incredibly nice the staff was.Holiday Inn Express can pretty much control everything from room styles, to what they serve at breakfast, and everything in between...BUT...Tough to control staff! You can try all you want, but you can never force people to be nice to customers. In this case-The Plattsburg staff was off the charts nice and helpful.Clearly appeared that the staff enjoy working for the hotel---It really did show :)DJG
Overall, we had a good experience at this hotel facility, and it even had free EV charging stations, although a couple of the spaces were occupied by non-EV cars/trucks. The rooms were comfortable, although we had to shut off the AC, because the room (and actually the entire hotel) was too cool for my taste. I think the room would actually have been warmer in the winter. But I enjoyed our stay overall.
For a newly renovated place it needs better room cleaning when you do an extended stay.I didn’t have the hot oatmeal but both Saturday and Sunday many we’re looking for it at 9am (10am closing). There was no bar soap In the room, had to purchase our own.No literature for local places, food and places to go. No TV listing.
A very clean and comfortable stay. The ease of getting on the freeway made sightseeing easy. The staff was attentive to requests. The updated lobby was spotless but encroached on eating areas during breakfast. The pancake machine was amazing, I have seen waffle makers but never a pancake machine.
Everything wouldve been fine, except the hotels parking spots are tiny! I have a regular size pickup truck, and the person who parked next to me hit my vehicle. We argued over it, which resulted in absolutely no progress to get my brand new truck fixed. The front desk was less than helpful, and upon further review with police, there is less than ample cameras to capture the parking areas of this hotel. Basically Im screwed and have to pay for the damages to my brand new truck. If you have an SUV or a Truck, get a different hotel.
I am late getting this review because I just plain forgot and I should not have. This place was awesome! Especially the staff!. I needed to check in early so I could change for something and they got my room done for me. I thought I lost my prescription sunglasses and the desk clerk went and ask housekeeping and then went and searched my room for me. Of course I found them right when she came back on the phone and she just said glad you found them, no problem Amazing. The rooms were clean, everything work, the amenities were great. I travel a lot for work and this was just a great place to stay! Way to go staff of Plattsburgh HIE!! Your were awesome!! Thank you for all you did for me!
Our stay at the Plattsburgh, NY Holiday Inn Express was one of the worst hotel stays I have ever had.We checked into the hotel and were assigned a room on the third floor the furthest away from the front desk. After getting settled into the room and using the bathroom - we discovered that the toilet would not flush and it did not appear to be an easy fix. So we packed all of our belongings back on the cart and went back downstairs to ask for another room.Following a short wait - we were assigned a second room. We lugged all of our stuff back upstairs - opened the door - checked the toilet which worked - but noticed that both blinds on the window (the inside blind and the privacy blind were on the floor and there was no privacy in the room. We again brought all of our luggage back to the lobby to request a third room. When I told the staff member at the front desk what happened she gave me a dirty look. I told her - hey Im not making this up - and I sure dont enjoy lugging my luggage up and back downstairs multiple times - as the first two rooms are unacceptable. She then said she was not upset at me - but annoyed at the staff for the issues. Then we were assigned a third room - this time on the first floor. We went into the room - checked the toilet and the blinds - both functional. But when - I went to return the cart to the lobby - I discovered that the lock in the door handle on our room door would not engage! Even when we bolted the door with the deadbolt - you could still enter the room from the outside without using a key!I said the heck with it - Im not changing rooms again. So instead of going to a restaurant for dinner - we were stuck with having to order out for delivery pizza because we couldnt leave our room (I asked the front desk for delivery options and all they could come up with was pizza). While we were waiting for the pizza delivery - we heard some noise with the door lock. I went outside and the maintenance man using some sort of electronic gizmo - reset the door handle lock to lock when the door closed. So I mentioned to him that we had to stay in and eat pizza instead of go to a restaurant - and he said oh well!!! Also - another gentleman in an adjoining room had the same issue with the door lock.So needless to say - we will not be staying at that hotel again.
Upon arrival to the hotel, I realized I had left my membership information at home. The young lady at the front desk was very considerate and gave us the membership price with the understanding I would get my membership information to her in the morning. I found the app on my phone along with contacting my daughter who found my number, which I turned in in the morning. Our rooms were excellent and the shower was amazing!! We have traveled for a month at a time in 2019 and most always stayed at a Holiday Inn Express if one was available. Your continental breakfast is also a great deal and convenience.
Very pleased with our stay. All staff said hello to us at various times throughout our stay. Fairly new hotel. Everything felt pristine. Rooms very clean, beds comfortable. Breakfast was typical hotel food. Only complaint I have was the set up of the food. Its a small area to begin with ( not my complaint). The counter is in an L shape.there were two toasters on one side and 4 hot food servers on the other side. Only two had food in them, which happened to be closest to the toasters. If people were using the toasters, they were blocking the hot food servers so no one else in line could access the food, which caused a major jam up. If they had have used the first 2 servers, this would have been avoided. Other than that, they did a great job at keeping things wiped down and clean.
Well when we first arrived we were a little dissatisfied, we had called that morning to confirm that the pool was open but we were told upon arrival that it had been out of order since the day before. As a family traveling with kids, we definitely look forward to the pool after a long drive. It ended up not being ready for the night but it was ready the next morning. The girl at check in wasn’t very friendly. Also we were not aware that the hotel did not accept cash for payments which resulted in us having to pay with our credit card also they charged a $50 per room incidental stay. Which we were unaware. When we checked into our rooms one of them smelled terrible, like sewage. We did tell the front desk girl and it was resolved quickly. We did enjoy breakfast and the crew the next morning was super nice. Also it was very clean and nice location. I’m not sure I would stay here again but it was ok for the night.
Room was clean and stocked with any amenities needed. AC was quiet. Room included fridge and microwave. Bed, bedding and pillows very good. Check in and checkout easy as usual. Nice pool and weight room. I didnt use the weight room but it appeared well stocked with equipment.
I stay at Holiday Inn hotels for one reason only: they are always clean! And this location was no different. The room was clean: there was a mattress cover on the mattress and pillow covers on the pillows. The bathroom was spotless except for some stains on the shower floor (I tried to remove them but the wipe came up clean so I realised they were probably stains from during the installation). The bed was soft and comfortable and they had both soft and firm pillows. The hotel is newly renovated and I love the clean, modern design.
Booked for 4 night family vacation. No rooms ready at check in. Once in room, was NOT cleaned. Grime and scum all over ALL fixtures. Microwave still had food stuck to it. Floors not mopped. Bed had tons of black hairs all over it. Bed was changed.....however new sheets also covered in hair.Breakfast often did not re stock after running out of food within the first hour or so each day, had to pick through what was left. No allergy lists available, although the front desk did try unsuccessfully to help. Spilled coffee and crumbs all over floor.....never cleaned or mopped for days.Pool had grime and dirt settled in corners. Cobwebs and dirt on windows. Heated room for pool was WAY too hot, felt like the sahara, reported to desk multiple times to ask to turn heat down, nothing ever done. My 12 year old daughter got yelled at for asking for towels, she used the emergency phone to call front desk from the pool......although its not marked as an emergency phone.Cleaning staff always look like theyre on break, eating breakfast, chillin, smoking, never seem to be doing their job. 2 of the cleaning staff did seem to be on the ball and attempting to do a good job.Front desk help was sub par at best and often acted as if guests were an annoyance. Front Desk often running around helping with breakfast.......so no one at front desk for help, people waiting 20 mins at a time.Staff in general almost never apologized for problems. The general attitude was why are you bothering me.Very poorly managed, no accountability, no oversight, a few employees really trying but other than that its laughable. It doesnt seem they want your business.Lots of sirens going off, not sure ambulance or police. A few sketchy characters staying there.I have always had good experiences with Holiday Inn. This was a joke.I reported my frustrations to front desk......i told the manager id like to give a positive review....however any apology or attempt to rectify the situation never happened.Dont stay here.
I arrived around the normal check in time to be told it might take longer due to being short staffed. I was told to check back in a half an hour. So I went off to kill time and came back around the suggested time to be told they are still not done and they cant give me a time. Well running out of stuff to do I went to the movies in hoping a full length feature would be enough to get the room done. After about an hour and a half later I called to confirm it was finally done. When I arrived I checked in and went up to my room to find it was 2 queens and not the King I booked through their site a month ago. When I went to let them know it wasnt what I booked they said unfortunately no other rooms were available. The best they could do was a 35 percent discount. Running out of patients and wanting just to rest I took the option. Staff never cleaned our room during our visit . I believe this is because of covid but just another inconvenience. Other guests were loud at 2 am which the hotel doesnt have control but might be something you should look if you decide to book there.
We stayed here for one night to be near the airport. The room was very nice and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was a grab and go due to the covid virus so wasnt great but that was expected. The only things that kept me from rating 5 stars across the board were the small bathroom, the very soft mattress and the very soft pillows. We will be staying here again in March and bring our own pillows. Everything considered, this hotel is recommended.
Used 5 hotels on this trip. This was the most expensive with the worst room. Two queen beds left just enough room to walk around the room one person at a time. Bathroom had shower (no tub) and toilet only. Sink was in the room.Employees were pleasant and friendly. Place was clean.
We arrived at 3:45 PM for check in, (3:00 PM), and was told that our room isnt ready. When I asked when it would be ready I was told that it would be at least a half hour or more because they were very busy the day before, so come back later? I asked for the manager only to be told that person was not available. I said ok when will that person be available only to be told that I really dont know the managers schedule?? Huh? On a Friday? Wouldnt the manager be available if they were so busy? I asked if my rate would be adjusted accordingly for the inconvenience only to be told that that is a managers decision, the same person that is not available. I spent another 20 minutes or better with IHG customer service only to find out that I need to deal with the manager. Not once was I told that they can call me when the room is available. I stay at IHG facilities about 95% of my stays and never have been treated as poorly as this facility. When finally getting our room I was never told where to enter building that was closest to our room, anything about breakfast, or any other services, nothing, basically here are your keys. I can understand being understaffed or whatever but to be treated as if I was an annoyance as soon as I arrived is unacceptable especially at todays prices. Would have been too much to ask to say can we contact you when the room was available? Very disappointing to say the least.
As expected layout and breakfast options. Housekeeping only done every other day which ends up leaving the hotel with not enough clean linens for the guests for the day. I needed more washcloths but they could only provide hand towels. They do not have laundry services nor do they provide guests with a laundry bag. I rented 3 rooms. 2 with showers and the third with a tub. The tub was very dirty with human hair.
We had a very comfortable stay with breakfast provided safely in times of Covid. Booking our stay and checking in and out was very easy. The staff was pleasant and courteous. The common areas were very clean as was our room. It was nice to come back both nights and get some rest in a comfortable space. This was our second time staying in Plattsburgh while visiting our daughter at college and we will surely be back to this hotel.
It was raining and cold and I just needed to get off the road for the night. I found this gem right off the exit ramp. The woman who checked me in was friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and quiet and had everything I needed. When I picked up my breakfast, I chatted briefly with the nice young man at the desk who was also very nice. Sorry I didnt get any names, but I will assume that all in this establishment were well trained, competent and very friendly. Thank you Holiday Inn Express! Once again you have exceeded my expectations!
Extremely small rooms. And even smaller bathrooms. A broad shouldered guy will not be able to turn around easily. This is absolutely unacceptable.Want your room service? You better let them know or you’ll come back after a long day to find your room just as you left it.Breakfast? You better fill out a form the night before so they can provide a cold bag of breakfast for you.I’ve been a long time member of this HIE club. I would not recommend this property at all.
I highly recommend this hotel. I was a little sceptical at first since it’s been a long time since I’ve stayed in a Holiday Inn and I thought the price seemed high but it was a Friday night snd last minute booking. However, the hotel surpassed all my expectations it was new, very clean and exceptionally comfortable.
My stay in your hotel was a very wonderful experience, the staff are very professional and friendly, the hotel is very clean, the commitment your management made with regards to maintaining cleanliness is very real, please keep it up. I will definitely come back to this hotel in my next visit and I will recommend it strongly to anyone who is interested. I didnt feel like leaving again !!!! I fully enjoyed my self the cold whether not withstanding. Please keep up the wonderful job you are doing
Had a wonderful stay. Room was clean. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Pool was clean and my kids really enjoyed. The only issue was breakfast! What is Pork Sausage Gravy- eeeeewww. I dont think anyone at that mush in three days. Pancake machine was cool, and so were the cinnamon buns. But they ran out of eggs, so get there early. All in all great stay in Plattsburgh.
This location seemed like it is fairly new or freshly renovated. Room and common areas were clean. First room we were given, the toilet wouldnt flush so we were moved to a different room. the first room seemed like it was completed while the 2nd one had a flushing toilet but an outdated heat/air system. Both rooms, King bed, had bathrooms so small I had to step into the shower to open the door and the light was on the outside. This made it impossible to use the bathroom without disturbing people sleeping because you had to first turn the light on then go into the bathroom to shut the door. My wife did like the fact that the sink and mirror were outside of the main bathroom because she likes to get ready while Im in the shower and usually the mirrors steam up. So, that worked out well for us. We are still not sure why they cant have their normal breakfast, when places like Ponderosa can have their food buffet. Theres nothing offered, as far as Keto friendly foods go, for breakfast, and we used to be able to have the eggs and bacon/sausage but now we have to take time and money to go to a different place to have hot food cooked for us and served by different employees in yet a different public place..... Safety? I doubt it! For some reason the pool was not available to be used while we were there. The location is easy to get to and pretty close to everything! The beds were the normal HIE beds and we really like the shades there. They pretty much block all the light from shining thru the edges. We were on the top floor and it was very quiet during our stay. Overall it was a nice experience with some plus
The staff was very welcoming and nice. Our room was very big for the two of us, and perfect for our weekend getaway. There were a lot of breakfast options, and we still received a good breakfast while the hotel was practicing safe ways to give it to everyone. Overall, we would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone!
The staff here is terrible, half of them don’t know what they’re doing and the other half are just miserable. I stood at the front desk for 20 minutes while the staff sat in the back room just chatting. Also our room door didn’t even lock, and we were told that it would be fixed in the morning. We stayed for 4 days and it wasn’t fixed at all, and they just told us it would be fixed the next day. Every hotel in this area is nicer, do yourself a favor and don’t stay here.
I hadn’t expected to stay in Plattsburgh but was turned away at the Canadian border until I got a covid test . Ended up needing to stay 3 nights and must say it was a great option. Sleek modern very very clean and well located just off 87. Quiet and comfortable as well. Breakfast options currently aren’t great if you’re concerned about healthy food. Overall I’d highly recommend this hotel for any travelers looking for accommodations in Plattsburgh.
The check in individual did not offer any of the usual info....check out, breakfast, and pool times, etc. The outdoor pool that was advertised, and a large selling point with Covid, no longer existed. When I questioned this, the check in persons only response was.....we have remodeled. I told them they needed to update their advertising. Upon arriving at the room, the room keys didnt work. They could only, eventually, get one room key to work for us. So, my husband and I had to share it despite different schedules. Breakfast was poorly stocked and unclean. I never saw anyone wipe anything down.
The room was good and breakfast was better than expected since most places had grab-and-go meals lately. The beds were rather hard so I turned a lot through the night. The room we were in had a faint “wet dog” smell to it so that was annoying but we didn’t need to move rooms due to it.
I probably stay in hotels 20-30 nights a year. This was quite possibly the smallest room Ive ever had. The bathroom was about 5x6 and was so small it was difficult even to change clothes in. With plenty of other hotels in Plattsburgh, I dont know why anyone would choose to stay here. I certainly never will again.
Nice staff but did not take proper measures to have rooms ready in time. We had to return at 730pm and after the staff dealt with the irate guests, it was about 8pm. We were lucky and they had our room ready. But a lot of rooms were still not ready and the lobby/ hallways were busy until about 1230AM. This would usually not be a problem except the doors seemed to be poorly insultlated/sealed when shut and noise was coming through quite easily while being on the 1st floor. When we got into our room, we wiped it down with our own clorox wipes and noticed that in certain places it was still dirty, mostly handles and light switches. We also did not like that there was a half used roll of TP in the bathroom during this time period. So we used the unopened one instead. At night the air system was not the best with sensing the temp bc we kept waking up warm unless we had it constantly running which then made it very cold to wake up too. But the bed and kurieg machine in the room were very nice. The staff was very nice even though that first night was a mess. The hotel was in a good location right next to easily acceptable highways.Last thing was the breakfast was nice to still be offered but it lacked on certain areas. Like milk was the only drink offered but I am lactose intolerant and this doesnt help me at all. Why no OJ or water bottles?
Nice hotel to stay in. Completely renovated from top to bottom inside. But havent quite got out all the problem with the wireless network. Some issues with the wireless remote for the AC/heat.No rating on food because they are not doing breakfast because of Covid.indoor pool is open by appointment but gym is closed. Easy access to interstate and restaurants. I have stayed at this hotel off and on for the past 6 months for work in the area.I travel for work about 40 weeks a year so I see a lot of hotels.
Starting at the front desk with Laura, who checked us in, it was an easy check-in even after we came back and asked to be changed to another room because the one we had was too far for my husband to walk (he has a many health issues). Laura did this with a smile and pleasant attitude...The room was exceptionally clean with all amenities you would need...The beds were comfortable, pillows great....When it was time to check-out, we requested a later time as we were there to get covid vaccines and our appointment time was well past the check-out time...We were given the extra time which was a great help to us...Overall we would highly recommend this Holiday Inn Express for business or pleasure...The hotel and staff are above and beyond what you would expect....A great stay!
Overall was decent. I’ve stayed at other Holiday Inn Express and the bathroom seemed very small with no walk-in showers like others. And only one garbage can in the whole room by the desk. Entrance to the hotel can be tricky if never been to before and at night. But overall a decent hotel.
I stayed here Labor Day weekend as I walked into the lobby I could smell the newness of the building! The lobby was fresh and very clean! The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful! I was in a room close to the elevator so that I could park my vehicle in a handicap spot! The room was very nice and clean it had a microwave and refrigerator in it, the bathroom had a walk-in shower which I loved! The location is great with restaurants and places to shop, I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good place to stay.
I am a driver/contractor, an ihg rewards member. I stay usually exclusively stay at Holiday Inns throughout the US on business. This is the first poor Holiday Inn Express since 2014 which treated me exceptionally bad. This Holiday Inn Express only gets high marks for cleanliness and breakfast. They do not have a General Manager; they have what they call a Front Office Manager who demonstrates zero customer service skills when dealing with business guests. Driver contractors often must stay and pay day-by-day. This shouldnt be a problem when the hotel has a credit card on file. This Holiday Inn Express in Plattsburgh would not allow me to stay an 8th night claiming they were booked! The staff removed all my belongings from my room claiming I was a check-out when in fact I was not. My credit card was on file, they do not allow business contractors to pay cash daily. They mistreat multiple stay guests, especially guests on business. They refuse to make allowances. I do not recommend the Holiday Inn Express Plattsburgh NY for business patrons who must stay multiple nights.
Room was dirty upon arrival, stinks. Bathroom door does not close, and the primary door barely closes also. Shower floor was DISGUSTING. Wifi did not work for the first 12 hours. Called twice before checking in to make sure the pool was open - was assured it was - it has been open once, for about 2 hours since weve been here (day 3 now).Requested turn down service and garbage removal the night before by asking verbally and filling out a small form at around 9pm. Now 6pm the next day and still have not received the service.Front Desk staff does not answer phone, I had to walk down to the desk several times because nobody would answer, or return the calls.Absolutely disgusted with the service and quality of the room and would not recommend this hotel to anyone, at all, ever.
Room was nice size, bed was comfortable, housekeeping was accomadating with extra pillows, towels and blankets but the bathrooms are way to small. very tight no room to move around. sink is outside of the bathroom overall nice place and since during covid very limited access as there was no pool and fitness center. breakfast was very limited and they ran out of items
We always go around on trips and this is the first time we had to ask for new set of pillow cases. The pillows we had greasy hair smell and found some hair in them too. Then we were told breakfast is available til 10 am. When we got there 8:55 the breakfast are was closed and some couple sitting there told us the guy working there left at 8:45 because he’s shift is only til 9am. He left no coffee or even hot water. We told the front desk about it and she told us that its only open 7am-9am. But i was there at 7:30 and they were just starting to setup breakfast. The front desk lady or maybe shes the manager was nice enough to grab some milk and cereals for my son, but it shouldn’t have been that way. If they told us an hour early that the breakfast would clise eqrly, it would’ve been fine. Disappointing for such abig name company.
This is a new hotel, which makes my experience disappointing. First of all, my colleague and myself filled out a breakfast form to receive a form of breakfast since the breakfast area is closed due to Covid-19. We never received anything for breakfast for the 3 nights we stayed there. The air conditioner for my room did not work when I tried to use it on my second night and my room would not cool down below 76 degrees due to the fact that the heat was turned on in the hallway. I still dont understand why the heat was on. I ended up changing rooms and my new room had issues with the door latching when it was closed from the inside. After a short while, it would latch. My colleague had an issue with his door not locking. There are a lot of things that need to be fixed with this hotel. The front desk manager was extremely nice and professional. She tried to make everything right for us. The breakfast never came though.
The room is very modern and new with built in furniture. The surprising thing was the very small size of the room being in a place like Plattsburgh. The room looked like it belonged in a large city downtown or Europe. There was a desk chair but no easy chair. I would have appreciated the breakfast sandwich option every day, not only on weekends. Other than that, all the things I go to Holiday Inn for were there and we enjoyed our stay.
I have always stayed at this property while in Plattsburgh N.Y. for business. Upon arriving at the new Holiday Inn express I was pleasantly surprised at the new accommodations. Checking in was quick and pleasant. Room was extremely clean. Bed was extremely comfortable. Although upon arriving in my room, the T.V. did not work, I called down to the front desk and got a recording the hotel was not open until July 7th and this was Sept. 23rd. So I had to go back down stairs and tell the attendant. The solution was to switch rooms. Not a big issue but it probably was something easy and a maintenance person could have probably fixed it , although it appeared there was no one like that on duty (7pm) In addition i thought their grab and go breakfast was a good idea during these trying times but when I made out the menu the night before - the next morning i did not receive what i had ordered. I guess being new the hotel has to work things out and I will try again next time in PlattsburghN.Y.
Disappointed with room. Very small and cramped. No space at all in the bathroom. We ordered the room with a credit card but- we needed to change the card we were paying with. The front counter agent didnt change my credit card to the one I requested. I was billed for the full amount of my stay on a credit card that I didnt watch.
Nice hotel.. recently renovated( had been a hotel of diff chain).. Check in went smoothly..very nice gal at reception.. hotel lobby and room very clean/ good amount of space. My only con was that internet sites hadnt been updated so i was looking forward to an outdoor pool( a rare thing in plattsburgh hotels) ..alas no pool.. there was an indoor pool ..not the same.. i do hope that they do put a new one in for next summer.
I stayed here with my family and my service dog August 27th and 28th. On August 27th I was told I needed to show the front desk clerk his certification papers which is against Federal Law, title III of the ADA. Even after explaining that he was my service dog and he was also wearing his Service dog vest, which he is not required by law to wear. She told me I would be getting a call from the General Manager on the 28th. To which I said ok and went back to my room for the night. Next day rolls around and my wife had went up to the front desk to get the breakfast order forms which were supposed to be delivered to our room. She is greeted by the front desk manager who told her that I needed to come up to the front desk because of my dog. My wife came back to the room and told me, so I went back up to the front desk for the second time in two days because of my service dog. Mind you my service dog is just that, a service animal, who is trained, and does not make any kind of disturbance. She is with the same front desk clerk from the previous night and is saying a lot of the same things. After about another 15 minutes of having to explain that he is a service dog for my PTSD, he is trained to alert me and bring me back when I start to go into flashbacks and/or night terrors, the front desk manager apologizes and I was able to return to my room. My service dog has been with me three times in the past three years to this exact location, which I have never had any kind of issue arise, granted it was the Days Inn in previous years. I have never had any issues with any hotel in the past. I will never stay at this location again and I would advise anyone to find another hotel in the area when visiting Plattsburgh, there are plenty. Oh and I never did get that call from the General Manager that the clerk told me i would be getting.
When we checked in there was no mention of breakfast. We lat er called down to find out what time breakfast started. They told us we should have filled out a menu sheet when we checked in. They then said we would not need one. We could just come down in the morning. We came down in the morning and there was no breakfast setup. We had to fill out a form and the clerk went back to get the stuff. Breakfast did not include any hot items, as was offered at the Holiday Inn Express we had left that morning. Just prepackaged stuff like muffins, yogurt, fruit cocktail. One of the main reasons for going to Holiday Inn Express is for a hot breakfast. Very disappointed.
This hotel has amazing and friendly staff, from check in until check out they really made sure I had everything I needed for my stay, beds are comfy, bathrooms are small yet very elegant and cozy. Good breakfast and I even used the business lounge to print out some paperwork
Im writing it on same day we are staying here.Room is good however when we checked-in, front desk told us B’fast will be served until 10am weekends. Based on that me and my kid went at 10 past 9 (9:10) and was told its closed because they are short hand. I wouldn’t expect that or atleast they should have courtesy to inform through phone. Nothing happened and I’ve to have my kid taken out for bfast.
I have two issues with this hotel. The bathroom was tiny and as a Holiday Inn /IHG member, this is the worst that I have seen for a HI Express. My second issue was with the lack of information on room cleaning schedules. Once every 5 days is not satisfactory and this should have been conveyed to me upon check in.
This was our 2nd time staying at this hotel. We stayed here the last time we came to visit SUNY Plattsburgh for a college visit. The hotel staff is very friendly and the room is always clean. Since Covid the breakfast is very disappointing but that’s the only negative thing I can say. If my son decides to go to Plattsburgh we’ll be back.
This has become my go-to hotel in the Plattsburgh area. I generally prefer IHG properties for the quality of management and service. James and his team at the Holiday Inn Express are a stellar example.Plus, the newly renovated property is clean and modern. The location is convenient from the Northway, airport, and local shops and restaurants.
I recently spent about 65 day at the same location-overall the experience was good. I appreciated the extra mile the staff went to make me feel welcomed as I am a covid nurse and came to the area in January to help with the covid pandemic that had been hitting this community pretty bad.
When I got to Plattsburgh, I pulled into the parking lot, and was shocked to see that it was now a different Hotel chain. I had no idea that the Holiday Inn Express had moved to a new location!!! I have to say, I will be staying at the Days Inn next time as I like it so much better!!!! Sorry to say this, I have stayed at the Holiday Inns throughout the state. This one I do not care for at all. Needed help a couple times and was left helpless.
My stay was absolutely amazing. The staff are so sweet and very helpful. THOSE BEDS !!!!! Ugh I wanted to take them home !!!! 😊😍😍😍😍 they were so comfy and soft my head hit the pillow and i was out like a light and the rooms are very clean as well I very much so recommend this place to EVERYONE 👍

2022-03-21A convenient location and very friendly staff. Our room had 2 queens and was located on the ground floor. There was a lot of road noise (to be expected), but the sounds in the hallway were extremely loud and felt like there was no privacy. There was no fan in the bathroom (possibly broken?), and the bathroom was so small there wasnt a place to set toiletries or much room to even turn around or change clothes. The sink was detached from the bathroom. The shower wad a great size, but the glass doors would slide open on both ends if we didnt block it with an item. The bathroom door also did not latch which was fine since we were with family, but could be problematic for others. My family was satisfied with the breakfast options. Im not sure if we would choose to stay there again. Maybe a larger room would have been more suitable for our needs (we had 3 adults).

2022-05-24The hotel itself was clean and the rooms were clean and tidy as well! The only flaw about the room was the bathroom it was extremely small and considering that I am a big guy it was like going into a skinny small pantry to take a leak! Now the pool was also something that was a let down as it was extremely small and not heated. The breakfast could have had some more of a variety and the sausgae patties tasted a hell of a lot better than the links. Holiday Inn Express is a over nighter for your average size people!

2022-06-13I was disappointed. I rarely review, so I’ll mention the good and the bad.Good: lots of free parking, right off the highwayBad: rooms are small, the indoor pool is NOT heated (an icebox = unacceptable) and the bed sheets looked dirty/unchanged.The breakfast was mediocre (eggs were awful). Sum up: I wouldn’t return

2022-07-01We were visiting Plattsburgh for Ausable Chasm and needed a place to stay for one night from Canada. We’re disappointed with the Quality Inn across the street and booked this hotel at the last minute. What a treasure of a hotel! Online reservation was a breeze. Price is fair. Well located next to hwy (couldn’t see or hear it) near mall and Butcher Block restaurant. The whole place is clean and well maintained. Reception lady was very welcoming and answered all our questions patiently. Our room with king bed was cleaned and ready to go. We even used the pool. (Water a little cold for my taste) Free pool towel, cute modern little gym. Quiet room at night. The have a little store for snacks, computer areas charging stations. For the room price we ate a full breakfast in the morning buffet. Diversified and delicious. It will be our fave hotel on our next trip to Plattsburgh.Well done!

2022-05-09Better training for all teams needed. Only smiles were from a couple maintenance type guys. Better leadership for maintenance repairs - a backdoor with broken lock was noted to front desk and response was, “Yeah, we know.”No follow up. No follow through - priority should be a safe secure perimeter. Room was roomy but it’s interior appointments were of uneven quality.

2022-03-15Do not stay here. I booked a room from 3/1-3/3 for work. I Booked through my podiatry association site on feb 18th and the total was $197.92 I get to the hotel on 3/1 to check in and the girl at the front was having trouble with her computer. She then asks for my card to hold a $50 pending charge that will be refunded when I check out. Ok no problem with that. I then see a pending charge on my card on 3/2 for $146.72, I went to the front desk and questioned what this was for and the same person that originally checked in said not to worry about it, it will not be charged when you check out. I then go to check out on 3/3 at 5:30am and I see under my door a holiday inn express charge invoice for $146.72. I again asked at the front when checking out and was again told I will not be charged that amount that the room was already paid for. Well guess what I was charged that $146.72. I called the hotel to find out what that additional charge was for and I was put on hold then the phone was picked up by three other people that had no idea what I was talking about until I was eventually hung up on. Had to call my bank to dispute this charge. This is so unfortunate because I had no problem with the room, but the scam of charging me twice and telling me where will be no additional charge is just plain wrong.

2022-06-30The staff all the staff is wonderful I I I Ibeen here bout two weeks its been wonderful.the rooms are great yards great. But one thing that bothered me Im a local man spent over 2000 in this place Im waiting for a home to be done I went 4 days and kept my word and paid them . But see I used my card here I have two coming in my mail I asked to extend till my cardcame in and now its I cant let you stay with no money .I didnt ask for a hand out Im a great costomer and I keep my words I offered money today tonight they have a 50 dollar deposit they owe me that would of left 78 80 dollars left and refused me I offered to pay for the extra hr stay . If a man was going to screw you he wouldnt offer to pay you . Now I would never leave owing anyone and a cotomer that good is treated like hes a bum after I may not where 300 dollar suites and where pants tattoos and t shirts dont make me a bum . But its ok you ever get in my situation and people treat you like that remember your cotomer you treated again . Good business no matter what is taking care of your costomers no matter what stuff happens and some people are honest remember that .
