Friendly hotel staff, clean room and adequately equipped bathroom. Breakfast was good quality and wide choice. Room was quiet and comfortable. There is no lobby area to relax or sit around. The price felt a little high but if you need a place to stay in the area Id recommended the hotel.
I have traveled a lot in my life, passing through many different hotels and places of stay but I will say this hotel was one of my favorites simply because of how modern it felt and how clean it was when I arrived. It was in a great area and the room was perfect. It had great lighting and also space for me to sit and use my computer for my work . I appreciated how if you forgot a toothbrush, they had extras in supply for you. (Sometimes I would forget my toothbrush for trips but to know I had the option of getting one from the hotel made things a lot easier). The room had an AC and a good heater as well. I loved the bed quality and the TV as they were both really good touches.
The room was much smaller than other Holiday Inn Expresses where weve stayed. The fridge leaked water onto the carpet and fixtures had rust/corrosion. I miss the days of sausage gravy with breakfast. The hotel is in a great location, walk to restaurants. Quiet. Convenient to major roadways. The staff is wonderful. Bedding is very nice.
We were put up here by American Airlines when our flight was cancelled this past Sunday. I wasn’t sure what to expect after a really annoying afternoon/evening at the airport, but I was pleasantly surprised when we checked in. The staff was so kind, even when 12 of us walked into their small lobby all at once at 11pm. The room was clean and comfortable. Walking down the hall some of the other guests seemed to be pretty loud, but when we got in the room it was super quiet! We had to get up really early to catch our flight the next day and I left my iPad in the room. I sent an email and the GM Clara Alvarez found it and shipped it to my house.Great customer service!!
I travel frequently on business. Of all the hotels Ive stayed at, the Holiday Inn Express in Roslyn, NY is by far the best value and most pleasant experience Ive ever had at a hotel. The rooms are clean, the amenities are first rate and the staff is phenomenal! I will not stay anywhere else when on Long Island. Ive gotten to know the staff pretty well over the last year. I would like to especially commend Sydney, Carole, and Alvaro but also everyone else Ive interacted with there whos names I never learned. Everyone there is fantastic. Bravo Holiday Inn!
Great staff and we had no problems with our stay. Probably just because it was New York but you could barely move in the rooms and bathroom, all very petite. Carpet in whole hotel is stained badly, wallpaper was peeling off the wall in our room. No real problems just small and old. Did not expect this from IHG
I needed a hotel room to attend my mothers funeral. I had me and four daughters. The room was beyond small. No one could walk pass each other at the same time. I will not ever book a room here again. Staff was great however the rooms are not comfortable due to the size!!
Positive: Nice pillows. Negative: We reserved a room for 2 adults with kids and got a king bed and nothing else. There wasnt even room for someone to sleep on the floor. The front desk response was there is nothing I can do, we are sold out was a lie since the parking lot was empty!
Its not the Taj Mahal but it is very clean and comfortable. The rooms are small but you knew that when you booked a Holiday Inn Express. The staff is really friendly and very helpful! We were there around Halloween and the place was really decorated for the holiday, very special.
Overall, the hotel met our needs. The location was perfect and there was plenty of parking. The breakfast that was served was average, but just what we needed. The first room we checked in to had a non-working TV so the manager moved us to a different room. The room was small, but this is New York! However, we found the room smelled of dog and the air conditioner wasnt working properly. Unless we had the temperature set for 64, there was a moist feeling on our clothes and sheets.
My wife and myself really loved our experience staying at this hotel . The staff is wonderful !!! They all are extremely helpful and kind. The rooms were very clean and bed very comfortable. They have complimentary breakfast in the morning which was excellent. The cleaning staff was wonderful .We also liked that they had hand sanitizers in the hallways . We liked it so much that we extended our stay.
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel! The staff was very professional and friendly. The room was very clean, the bed was comfy and the breakfast area and items were perfect for my stay. I enjoy staying with Holiday Inn because I know I will be getting great service. At this particular hotel the staff and management were truly great. I will definitely recommend this hotel to others.
From the moment we arrive we realized we were in the right place; clean, safe with a welcoming atmosphere!!! We appreciate them following all cleaning and safety protocols and informing us about the procedures taken place. signage were very helpful. We love the beds, breakfast !!! Overall, an amazing place. We can tell management is doing a great job, all employees were very attentive and welcoming.
Great location, convenient, clean, great parking. Great comfortable beds and pillows and showers / with microwave and fridge and alot of amenities on site and in the room. Great tv as well and wifi! Also the staff is the best!!! Karen is always the most kind and dedicated to helping me! Also everyone else that works there is great too!! Always helpful and making sure I’m happy. And the breakfast is great as well! I love to stay here :)
The king standard room is extremely small. The bathroom is tiny, but it was very clean. It is barely enough for one person. Forget about two people. Closet space is non-existent. The heater/air conditioning unit was enormously noisy and woke us up every time it turned on. I did not try their breakfast since it only opens at 7:30 am and I had to leave before that time.I cannot recommend this place.
Front desk and breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean, but a bit small, and floors were creaky, but I was on top floor. Air conditioner was outdated and loud, but cooled room nicely with handheld remote. Ask for 3rd floor room. Hotel in nice neighborhood. Good location.
The front desk agent was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and up to date. Covid protocols are posted and followed. Breakfast offered lots of choices and the lady serving it was super nice and accommodating. I had a very enjoyable one night stay and will definitely choose this hotel next time I’m in the area.
I stayed on this hotel several times with my family. We usually check in late night and the night auditors are always in a good mood and kind. Although some incidents happened with other customers (a person yelling on the hallway for help) the manager makes us decided to stay 2 more nights with her great customer service professionalism. I worked as an auditor for few years and I can tell, this is good service, including the housekeepers. Thanks all. See you again soon.
My stay at the Roslyn Holiday Inn was excellent and the staff was top notch. The place was immaculate and clean with the rooms. I also liked the complimentary breakfast and the choice of items were great. The location was easy to get to and plenty of parking. I would highly recommend this place to others as the perfect spot to stay.
The night staff at this hotel was terrible. They would not provide a room with a tub saying they were sold out. But only 4 cars in the parking lot. Then after checking in and paying, they charged me an additional $50 fee for our Chihuahua for one night. Although the rooms are very small (12 x 12), the hotel was fine. Too bad their night clerk was such a jerk. Maybe he should find a job that doesn’t require customer service.
Overall I had a pleasant stay here. I am a young professional and had to find a place for my early morning flight. This hotel was affordable, clean, and seemed quiet upon arrival. The front desk was very polite with me and informed there would be a wedding going on tonight and that the hotel was nearly at max capacity. Everything was fine until about 3/4AM when the wedding guests came back to the hotel there was yelling and loud noises in the hallway all night. I tried asking the front desk to tell them to keep it down but it didn’t seem to work. The next morning when I brought my card to checkout I addressed the problem with the front desk and he just ignored my comments and said “have a nice day sir” after taking my room key. My final rating is 7/10.
Hotel lobby not inviting - you go in through the garage lot, and is a small room with desk and elevator. Halls and overall lobby need updating, drab. Rooms are small but clean. The alarm clock was left on from the previous guest and woke me at 5am. The room was next to the main street and I heard load traffic early morning. My biggest issue was the hotel had no working printer and would not provide a receipt for my stay and informed me it needed to be emailed. To which I never received, which is now a hassle as I traveled for business.
Hotel rooms and common areas were filthy, bed sheets had dried blood stains and bodily fluid stains!! Walked right out in less than15 minutes after refusing the first and second room room which was not any better! Night Auditor and Manager are both completely disrespectful and totally unprofessional to be be in the hospitality industry. Hotel is total dump and and it is a reflection of the poor management staff that run it.
Stating with hotel cleanliness hotel is a “0”” The management staff beginning with the night auditor completely disrespectful and unprofessional the hotel manager was just as bad she felt intimidated when we were telling her the truth about how we were treated and she was upset that we complained to corporate she said she was very proud of how she ran her filthy hotel and that she should be fired if she wasn’t doing a good job I agree she should be fired and that hotel needs to be re-staffed beginning with management. No guests should ever be treated they way we treated.
Stumbled upon this property and decided to book a night due to my mom being in the hospital. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. They have a pillow menu with two types of pillows, firm and soft which Ive never seen before. Breakfast was a actual hot variety and not the to go bags which was the icing on the cake for my quick stay.
Stayed here pre and post surgery for my husband. Staff were, at all times, polite, helpful, caring and concerned. Breakfast room was a great help as we were pretty much confined to the hotel. Bed was comfortable, room nice and bright with a big window! Made a big difference. We could even use the exercise room. Lots of hand sanitiser etc available. Cookies and pie with the always available complementary tea and coffee at Christmas!Convenient location.
The hotel had several wedding parties. There was drunken screaming throughout the hallways from 1am - 5am both nights of my stay. I notified the front desk and later found out others also notified the desk and no one addressed the issue. As I checked out 6 am on Sunday there were people seating on the 3rd floor outside their rooms still partying.
We stay here whenever we visit family in the area and have always had a pleasant stay. This time we had difficulty getting the electronic key to work upon arrival. The staff printed 2 more keys - again not able to get into the room. A staff member came up and couldnt get in, even with the master key. Within 10 minutes, they had another room prepared and we were able to enjoy the rest of our stay. The nicest thing that happened was when I opened the card containing the new keys, there was a note inside apologizing for the mishap and stating that 1000 points had been added to my account! It wasnt necessary to do that but such a nice touch! Everyone there is always pleasant and helpful. The dining area has been upgraded and there are more healthy choices for breakfast. The rooms are always neat and clean, with plenty of fresh towels. Love the new shampoo, conditioner and soap dispensers in the bathroom.
My daughter goes to a college in the area and we had to make a one day trip to empty her dorm because of the current pandemic situation. I had stayed in this location before and it did not disappoint me on my second stay. The room was clean and although the bathroom was small and the television couldnt change stations it suited our purposes; we got a good sleep and it was local which is exactly what I needed. We would definitely stay when she moves back in (hopefully) this fall.
I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Roslyn on a recent 2 night business trip. This is not your average Holiday Inn Express since the rooms are smaller, similar to the Mircotel hotel chain. Other than this, the hotel was very nice and the staff were pleasant. When you arrive they offer a beverage and a snack. Check-in and check-out were fast. The room appears to be fairly updated, clean and efficient. The desk area is small, however, you can work on it OK. Many outlets to charge your devices. The TV offered a large variety of channels and internet worked great. Bathroom was clean and in good order. Breakfast was the typical HI Express fare with the cinnamon rolls. One issue I did not like is that there was no rack or anyplace to put your luggage except for the floor. However, this is a great hotel and I would stay here again if in the area.
The beds are extremely comfortable and rooms are immaculate and keep them clean on a daily routine The food is delicious and fresh every morning. The people working there have been amazing including Clara Alvarez General Manager, Alvaro Aguilla, Front Office Manager, Marietta the sales manager plus the rest of the staff including Ahmed, Sydney, Amy, Yves, Celina, Janet and Jairo. They give you 100 percent respect and care about you especially during this difficult times during this pandemic. They always ask if we need anything and if we do they come as fast as lightning. They treat you with love and respect and welcome you with open arms. They give us great recommendations for anything we ask them about and i would come there every time I need a hotel visit and highly recommend to any family and friends or anyone who need a great hotel to stay at while they are visiting. Holiday Inn Express in Roslyn Ny is the place to stay. Keep up the great job and don’t ever change at all!!!!
We came into NY to visit family and with 3 of us in the room we still had plenty of space. The room was clean and the staff was very helpful. The desk manager was very welcoming and the guy in charge of the breakfast was absolutely amazing, cleaning, checking - making us feel very well attended to. We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and its a great value, very convenient and we always feel welcome.
Holiday inn express roslyn. Best hotel experience. Staff are warm caring and friendly. Alvaro, Sydney, Ahmed, Karen are the best staff on hand. Clara and Marietta are fantastic. Extremely clean hotel by best housekeeping staff. Breakfast is delicious. Enjoying my stay
My overall experience has been very good. Some of the rooms are small, but they are adequate for the price. They are clean upon my arrival and during my stay. I always have plenty of towels. I really like the staff both at the front desk and the food service. They remember me every time I arrive and I have experienced great service and consideration. My only suggestion would to put a refrigerator in every room.
Excellent staff and service. Room is quite small, shower is small too. I had a really tough time sleeping, but the bed was comfortable. I just felt claustrophobic, I think. But it was all clean. I enjoyed the fitness center. Check-in and check-out went very smoothly. Breakfast was fine--yummy cinnamon rolls. Overall, I think I got what I paid for and was pleased. Fine place for a single person to lay their head, but I think I would have felt super cramped with two people in the king bed room.
I stayed at this hotel as a lady minute decision. I called around 11 PM to set off they had rooms, theyre price was more than what I wanted to spend. but it was convenient for my need. The rooms are very small compared to a standard hotel room and has no refrigerator. The room w clean and the bed comfortable but the road noise was noticeable. Breakfast was good, the small room where they have breakfast was clean. I thought that the place was pricey, but it served my need for convenience.
The staff was friendly and helpful, accommodating our late arrival and room preferences with a smile. The free breakfast buffet had sooo many choices, including cheese omelets and turkey sausage, a plus for my husband who does not eat red meat... and me, because it was delicious! We loved the refrigerator in the room. The rooms were small but had all we needed and the beds were very comfortable. There was even a choice of soft or hard pillows! It all seemed new, rather than some places that are obviously dated. A big YES! from us!!!
I had read mixed reviews before deciding to stay at this property but there were few options and it seemed to be good enough for the weekend we were in town. However I was very pleasantly surprised at what I discovered after my family spent the weekend at this hotel.First I have to comment their general manager, William Piper, who went above and beyond before and during our stay to make sure things were right. I emailed him because we required adjoining rooms and he promptly responded and guaranteed that he would be able to accommodate us. Upon arrival he know who I was and had our rooms ready to go.Yes, the rooms are small (some feel almost European with the tight quarters). But they have recently remodeled the hotel and found ways to get the most out of limited space. We had 1 king room (very tight) and a room with 2 double beds (more spacious). The only challenge was finding a place to put our luggage in the king room but we managed just fine. The rooms themselves are fresh, clean and have all of the amenities.Breakfast (included) was beyond my expectations. Hot and cold options with plenty to enjoy. Our family also appreciated that the breakfast area is open throughout the day with hot/cold drinks available.
Upon arrival front desk was very pleasant experience. Hotel is well maintained, but small. Breakfast selection was standard fare, but attendant was slow to replenish depleted items and pancake machine was not operating. Breakfast room was uncomfortably tight. Elevator is very slow, given only 3 levels. Room was very clean, modern and comfortable given small size with King bed. Bathroom looked newly remodeled, although sink drained slowly.Overall would recommend this hotel for an overnight stay.
Positive: Nothing. XXXS room.I was miserable the entire time because of the claustrophobic conditions. When I walked into the room there was only 2ft of space around the entire bed and that was the entire room. Couldnt even place the luggage anywhere. Negative: The unprofessional staff joked about my reaction to the smallness of the room & wouldnt issue a refund.Im only 160lbs & I struggled tremendously. Hurt both elbows, my right knee, and my left foot and that was from putting on my pajamas. Not family friendly
Clean and comfortable for a basic stay at a reasonable price. Biggest downside was a thin ceiling. Heard every step that the upstairs guest made and they seemed to be walking around all night. Lots of creaking noise.Other things to consider is mostly a carb loaded breakfast offered. Also didnt care for the noise and craziness of them having Jerry Springer blaring on the tv in the breakfast room when Im trying to relax in the morning (I would have asked for it to be changed but a couple of guests there seemed to be enjoying it so I left it alone).Dont trust that you are booked properly online for a bed type. I booked a King but got 2 doubles and was told that no Kings were available. I just had to accept and they told me that corporate was allowing Kings to be booked all day even though they had none.Despite the nice look of the hotel on the outside, the inside is blah. Rooms are modern looking though, but they have undersized desks that you can barely use a laptop on. Beds were comfortable and amenities adequate.Bottomline: I would stay here again if other better choices were unavailable or too pricey. But if I stayed again I would request a top floor to avoid the noise of anyone above me and would call the hotel to ensure that I got the bed size I booked.
Staff was excellent, especially the front desk team. Everyone went out of their way to help and make us feel welcome. After a 9 hour drive, the way in which we were greeted was appreciated and much needed. Breakfast had a nice variety, although the breakfast area is on the small side. No matter, the staff did a great job of keeping it clean and well-stocked. They definitely strive to make the best out of the situation. Overall, we felt safe and welcome. Rooms are not very large, but provided everything we needed. If you are looking for luxury or lots of space, this is not the place. If you want an economical, clean, comfortable room with a caring staff, this is the place to go.
I’ve stayed there for two snowstorms and was unable to find parking during one of them because the staff was parked in the parking spots which are extremely limited? I tried to park in the back and got stuck in the snow, I had to leave the parking lot drive back to the hospital and have security take me back to the hotel due to lack of parking . In my opinion, The staff should not be taking up parking spots that are specifically there for the hotel customers Because there are not enough, Although I was very happy with the hotel accommodations the staff were very nice and friendly, I was not there for breakfast so I cannot comment on that, as I left very early in the morning!
I was attending a high school reunion and the official hotel was full. The Holiday Inn Express met my needs--it was clean, quiet and convenient. Not fancy or modern in appearance, but everything in the room worked well, the front desk staff were helpful, and the room was very quiet. I had flown in on a red-eye flight and wanted to take a nap when I arrived. The rooms blackout curtains worked great.
Stayed at hotel for 1 night. Room was really small for 2 people and we were constantly in each others way especially in a the bathroom. Literally no storage space for clothes for 2 people and no place to put luggage. We were fine for 1 night but I would not stay there longer than that. Rest of the hotel was okay. Limited parking spaces so when we returned back in the evening there we were lucky there was 1 parking space left. When we arrived we had to squeeze past several guys that were smoking near the guest registration. Not a great welcome.
Room we stayed in was small. On our 2nd day, we had been out since early in the morning and did not return until late that night and our room hadnt been cleaned or replenished. The manager said maybe I had left the do not disturb sign on the door, which I hadnt. On the 3rd day, went to get the complimentary breakfast they offer and it there was only coffee and 2 cinnamon rolls out, when I asked the front desk if the breakfast had finished she said no it was just that the chef had left to Canada and they didnt have anyone to make breakfast. On our last night, there was a bug (not sure if it was a cockroach but it was the size of one) crawling around the carpet. So overall, our stay was not pleasant and I would not recommend this hotel. Standards should be higher being that it is part of a huge franchise.
Very clean hotel. Very nice rooms. Very affordable, and very attentive staff. Mohammed was the best. Very accommodating. Also full hot breakfast, which js surprising as some hotels canceled breakfast due to the virus, yet they charge the same. This is now my go to hotel from now on. Only complaint which isnt the fault of the hotel, there are no stores open within walking distance after 11, not even on the weekend. Also the parking lot is very poorly labeled, i drove by it completely and had to drive around
The hotel staff are excellent, internet speed is good and the breakfast options are good. The outdoor areas are clean, well lit and secure, lots of cameras. The only issue I had with this location is the size of the rooms themselves. The condition of the rooms is good, only issues I would say is that its the size of a dorm room and that the noise from the hallway outside is noticeably louder than most other hotels Ive stayed at. I didnt hear anything from within nearby rooms but lots of noise through the hallway wall and the door were present. People that stayed here were generally quiet however, so the noise was as low as it could be without building improvements.
I was very pleased with my stay at this hotel. I was there while on business. The room is clean and comfy. Plenty of space to put my things without falling all over them. Plenty of hot water and water pressure in the shower. Bathroom was clean. Towels were fluffy. Staff is pleasant.
Booked this hotel for a bridal shower happening nearby. I did not like that it had a non-refundable policy once booked. The cost to value ratio was not equal. The room was small, but the beds/pillows were oh so comfortable. Amazing nights sleep even though I could hear the traffic outside. The bathroom mirror had lighting around it, almost like a makeup artists/photographers extremely bright and blurring light....which actually makes it harder to put makeup on bc you cant really see in detail what youre doing. There was no fridge. The continental breakfast was so-so. It was included so of course Im going to eat it, but I wouldnt pay more than $5 for it if it was served elsewhere. There is a Dunkin Donuts 1 minute away. I would suggest going there. This location does have an automatic pancake machine which I found fascinating, but awful product..Im not surprised though. For one night I dont believe the cost was worth it. If you are able to get a better deal I would stay, but otherwise, Id look elsewhere if you were staying longer than a day.
Location was ideal for our purposes. Room was very tight for two people. Room and bath were clean and all the amenities were good. Lobby was tiny and though the reception person was attentive and helpful, he was also very preoccupied with a personal phone call. Entrance/exit to inn was a single lane driveway that emptied onto an extremely busy Northern Blvd. Unfortunately, this physcially cannot be altered because of construction of the inn on such very small piece of property. A good location for business types, but not for families or visitors on a vacation. A recommendation would be to have a binder in each room with names and locations of local restaurants, etc.
Needed a room for one night for a wedding in Great Neck and came across this hotel on-line. The price was fantastic, the room was very clean and worked well for me. Breakfast was delicious, with many options, and the staff was very friendly. I will definitely stay there again.
The room was ridiculously small and way overpriced. The parking situation was a nightmare. The room smelled and there was a dead spider smeared on the wall. The carpet had thick stains all over it, looked like gum and blood I didn’t even want to walk on it with socks on. It’s right on a highway so it was loud. Worst hotel I have every stayed at the only good thing was the nice smelling shampoo and lotion in the bathroom.
The King room we were first put in was VERY small. I asked if there was a bigger room and we were moved to room 323 which was much bigger. It is right next to the elevator but highly recommend.Staff was great to let us move as we called as soon as we entered the first room.A for service but C- for room size.Breakfast room was nice. Not as large an assortment of choices as some Holiday Inn Express.Price was GREAT though and Free on-site parking!*we received 2 bottles of water on arrival and departure in recognition of being IHG members.
The best part of my stay in this location, I would have to say was the entire staff. All very friendly and accommodating. Im used to having a fridge in my room and always bring my own fruits and sugar free drinks. there was no fridge in the room, I went down to the lobby and asked if it would be possible to get one in my room and in less than an hour a fridge was delivered. Now thats great customer service!
Emergency travel is never fun. I was happy to find this little gem of a hotel so close to St Francis Hospital, less than a mile. Rooms look recently refurbished, clean and plenty of bathroom lighting (yeah!). Theres a decent breakfast on site too. I wasnt a huge fan of having to go outside to get to Reception and the Great room breakfast but it wasnt enough of a bother to move. There is parking both directly within the hotel grounds as well as a small parking lot to the side. It was perfectly suitable for our needs.
My overall experience was pleasant. Lobby was small but the staff was great. My room was ready at 3pm and I went straight there. The room was small but I expected that. The only issue was the wet smell, but I can get over things quickly so I just got used to it and didn’t realize it shortly after. Didn’t use the facility to much. Fitness center was small with only a couple of elliptical and no weights, so disappointed here. The vicinity has a few places to eat. Breakfast in the morning was ok, pretty much what you would expect from a holiday inn breakfast. Overall good place to stay for a night or two, otherwise I would opt for something a little more upper class.
Our 9pm flight from JFK was cancelled (along with everyone else’s flights) and there were few hotels left. We chose this one because we usually find Holiday Inn pretty consistent with quality. However, this is an outlier. It has a funky smell the second you walk into the lobby, which changes to a moist musk when you enter your room. Our room had a terrible air conditioner that blew out moist air which made our beds damp. There were stains on the carpet and bedding. The rooms are tiny and cramped. I am glad we only stayed one night!
Room was extremely small and good for only one person. Room above us had someone with very heavy footsteps. Difficult to sleep.Front desk folks were very helpful when my refrigerator did not have a freezer for my medicine. They accommodated me by putting my medicine in their own fridge in the front lobby. They also brought up our refrigerator themselves and set it up in our room. They were very professional, personable, and accommodating.
Our visit to this hotel started out great. The front desk attendant was very helpful and even helped us find an excellent restaurant nearby. BUT... things went downhill after that. Our room which was supposed to be designed for the handicapped was very poorly designed with a tiny closet in the far corner with little space and difficult to get to. A coffee maker was placed on the tiny desk making it impossible to use the desk. There was a low couch that no handicapped person would be able to use - it was old and shabby and looked like it had been thrown in as an after thought. One of the window shades did not work and was not repaired during our two day stay. The TV remote did not work and that also was not programmed even after twice contacting the front desk. One of the towels in the room had large black stains and looked like it had been previously used for cleaning. We went down for breakfast on our first morning at about midway through the breakfast time to find most of the food depleted and the muffins were stale. We have stayed at other holiday inn express locations and have always been pleased but after this experience I would be reluctant to stay at another holiday inn as I no longer feel confident in the brand.
The Hotel was great. The rooms were small. The furniture was smaller- There was little to no place to put your luggage. There were 2 drawers. This is not the place to stay if you are a family. They have no roll-aways but the food is great and the beds are very comfortable. The restaurants that are adjacent to the property are excellent.
Honestly, I didnt expect very much from this hotel when I booked it because its not in a fancy location. But the hotel exceeded all expectations and I had a Surprisingly nice stay here. The ample, free parking as a big draw. The breakfast buffet was good, but the quality of the food, especially the eggs, couldve been better. Thats my only knock on this hotel.
The entry to the garage is very narrow and opens onto a very busy street. It’s hard to tell if there is a car in the parking entry until you’re almost on top of the car. The parking spots are very narrow. It’s under the hotel and you have to navigate around poles to park your car. Since the spaces are so narrow it can be challenging to get your luggage out of the car when the parking lot is full. When I opened the door to my room I was greeted with a weird smell. After two nights I still couldn’t pinpoint the smell. I don’t know if it was a mold smell but it was obvious upon entering the room. They only have one luggage trolly. I had to use the rest room after a 6 hour trip. I had the staff banging on my door to return the trolly before I could finish. I informed them I was in the bathroom and would be to the door momentarily. They still continued banging on the door demanding the trolly. I was in a room with one queen size bed. In my room the desk is a very narrow ledge. It works well if you’re using a laptop to get work done. There were multiple outlets on the ledge making it a useful place to charge devices. It would not be useful for someone dealing with several papers. They do not have a fridge or microwave in the room. Granted they didn’t say they had one but I thought that was standard in most hotel rooms today. The hotel is two buildings. I was in the building where you check-in and where the breakfast is served. When I wanted ice I would have to leave the building I was in and go the one next door since there was only one ice machine. The room was neat and bed was fairly comfortable. I did notice that when I came back to the room after my first night that housekeeping had not vacuumed my room. The bathroom was very small luckily I’m not claustrophobic. The wifi was adequate and I was able to get the few things I needed to do done. The free breakfast had a very nice variety and I was pleasantly surprised. I have never stayed at a Holiday Inn Express before so I was expected more from the Holiday Inn brand. While I would stay at another Holiday Inn I don’t think I would try another Holiday Inn Express.
I paid extra to have late check out — the front desk called me asking why I was still in the room around noonish. When I went down stairs to confront the front desk. The man was rude and didn’t listen to me at all about me paying extra for the room. I was so upset with the behavior of the front staff because as I spoke he shut me down not even listening to that I paid extra for a relaxation stay (which meant check out at 2pm and a snack given to the room) neither of those things were given....I was really upset because the stay was not bad at all and I was going to stay the next night as well. After the man at the front desk behavior I was definitely not going to come back. Then Marietta called me apologizing on his behalf and offered the next time I stay there to “ask for her she will help me out”. I called back to ask for her to see if any room cancellations to let me know. She never called me back and I have not heard back meanwhile it’s been 10 days. I can’t tell if the man at the front desk didn’t give my number/message to her or she just doesn’t call back clients when she said she will. Either way this place gave me a headache and I will not be coming back.
We were delighted with the hotel, the staff, location ... everything. We were greeted by a most friendly staff person. He was there to answer our questions throughout our 3 day stay. The hotel was so clean, orderly, bright and cheerful. Breakfast each morning was very good, many choices of hot and cold items. The location was excellent, close to places we wanted to visit, and close to the train to NYC. We have already recommended this hotel to several friends/family.
Hotel is small, rooms are tight but room rates are same. Not much value here for your money. First room smelled like animals, odd because it isnt a pet friendly hotel. Was given another room upon request which did not smell at all. Hotel only had 6 refrigerators available for all of its rooms, was a necessity due to medications. Annoyed that I had to fight for one. Rooms and bathrooms were very neat and clean. Elevator is very small and lighting in hallway for room is poor, like the hotel was on an austerity budget.
I booked this room very last minute and everything went smoothly. The room was clean and comfortable - loved how much lighting there was. Some toiletries were provided. There was some street noise as expected and I could hear my neighbors occasionally but overall, I had a great stay!
This Holiday Inn is modern, clean, and elegantly renovated. It has a European feel or that of a boutique hotel in a highly populated area of Manhattan. That said, you must be comfortable with a very small room. The hotel is in a very convenient and desirable area, close to transport, high-end shopping, and restaurants, and the staff demonstrated a superior demeanor and desire to satisfy. The free breakfast was a surprise as the quality of the choices were outstanding. The flaw in my stay was a room too small to accommodate a true King-sized mattress. It appeared that mine was a custom size, slightly shorter than normal, and there wasnt adequate desk space to work comfortably, nor a comfortable chair to sit in while doing so. There are trade offs to staying at this hotel and those who need to be in the area will find it a good choice albeit lacking in complete comfort.
This was the worst experience at a hotel. I booked over a week in advance to attend a funeral. I requested an accessible room, including an accessible bathroom and shower. The room also was to include a refrigerator. On the day of check in, I called at Noon to see if I could have an early check in after 1 pm. I was advised yes. When I arrived, I was informed the room was available. They showed me 3 rooms, 1 with a tub, which was not accessible, 2 with showers, which I found out later were also not accessible. I left my bags with the manager in the lobby with the understanding that they would be delivered to my room when it was ready. I returned after 9:30, went to my room and disvered no bags were delivered, the shower was indeed not accessible. Also, there was no refrigerator, which had been promised. Note, my bags were not delivered until 11 pm.
Room was so small it was more like a low end hotel chain. Bathroom tiny. Shower so tight could not even dry of in it. Desk was a shelf. Not enough room for mu lap top and a few pieces on paper. First IHG property I had to fill out a secondary registration form and sign my checkout receipt at check in. When I questioned it I was told this is a new Holiday Inn corporate policy. All the ear-markings again of a low end hotel. Stayed because it was late and I needed the room. In another circumstance I would have left and refused to pay for anything.
Booked my hotel block here for my wedding. My parents arrived and were unable to enter their room, supposedly even with a master key. The father of the bride was told they had no other rooms, and they were forced to leave a hotel they had reserved at 2AM after their daughters wedding. I also booked for myself here. I got to my room and it smelled overwhelmingly like cigarette smoke. Disgusting. They told us we have no other rooms and proceeded to wipe the room surfaces with Clorox wipes as if that would solve it. Absolutely absurd that this room could not be switched with anyone who had not checked in yet considering IT WAS OUR WEDDING NIGHT. Completely ruined a once in a lifetime experience for us and will never stay at a holiday inn again.
This hotel needs to be renamed to the Holiday inn express junior. It is not what I expect from a holiday inn express.first there are no microwaves and fridges in the room , I asked for one but was told that they did not have them.Next the rooms are half size room for the bed and bathroom only no work table or extra room to move around, the bathrooms the same small size shower only , very overseas type. The front desk was very nice people and the parking was OK some covered areas.Do not expect much here other than a clean place to sleep.
Walking thru the door we were greeted with a beautiful warm smile & a welcoming hello! Samantha was on her game! Phones going crazy and guested walking in she handled the rush with extreme professionalism & grace. The property, although small (mid town Northern Blvd. is very crowded) is well equipped with ample parking and a spacious breakfast room. Our room, although small, was perfect for our stay and immaculate & cozy. Ana, who I believe to be the Housekeeping Mgr., made sure we had a beautifully clean & fresh room. Jessica, the breakfast Hostess, laid out a most delicious breakfast buffet with eggs, sausage, French toast & pancakes and other assorted pastries, fresh coffee & juices. All in all, I will & have already, recommended this property to others & will certainly stay here again!!
We arrived early and were granted an early check in. Not being familiar with taking the train into the city, front desk staff gave us incredibly easy instruction to navigate the LIRR into Penn Station. Had a fantastic time in the City. The hotel was very clean and the beds were super comfortable. The continental breakfast was fantastic, way beyond some traditional continental breakfast.
A decent place, good location. Room was a bit small but clean. Front desk (Anita) was a sweetheart. Very accommodating to get us in early so we could dress for a wedding. Breakfast was good with many options to choose from located in a bright clean cafe style room with plenty of tables and booths.
Check-in and check-out personnel were excellent. Room was very clean and comfortable. On the to improve side--a lobby you could sit in and relax--not just a check-in area. Also, the hallway lighting needs to be adjusted--hallways are too dark. Enjoyed this hotel and would stay there again due to your wonderful personnel throughout the hotel.
Not my favorite Holiday inn Express Ive visited. The parking area is poorly labeled and easy to pass. It only allows one car to come in or leave at a time so it can be a bit difficult at times. The room was small but clean and updated. There was a weird hole in the bathroom wall which I shoved a tissue in because Ive seen enough Dateline Investigations to know better!
Nice beds, friendly staff, decent breakfast. However the smell that the air conditioning units emit is absolutely unsettling. The smell of mildew every time you walk into your room is overwhelming. Had to open the windows and turn on the bathroom fan to appease the smell just a bit.Parking would be a nightmare for those who have a hard time parking in general. There are large columns every two lots which get in the way of parking in one fluid motion. The driveway is very narrow, which only fits one car, but is a two way driveway. No mini fridge is somewhat inconvenient.Bathroom was satisfactory. Always enough towels provided.I wouldnt recommend this place to a friend or family unless they needed a very short term place to stay.
I am genuinely conflicted over this review. To begin - the hotel is structurally fine. The rooms are modern and decorated accordingly (If Im not mistaken its practically brand new construction). And as far as location goes, one could do worse than the Roslyn area. That all said, this is one of the smallest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. I mean comically small. And not small but decorated with an eye toward the limitations of the room, either. This is just congested and small. Now, if youre here because you need a place to sleep while you spend your waking hours wandering the city, great. Youll likely trip over your suitcase a few times, but no great loss. However, if you, god forbid, are in town on business, you are going to somehow have to figure out how to get any kind of work done in that room (and I apologise, but that eight inch deep shelf youre calling a desk just doesnt cut it). So. Its..kind of nice? Im not sure Id stay here again. But as I said, it may work out for your needs.
Due to a family member being unexpectedly admitted to the hospital in Roslyn this was the least expensive room we could find last minute. The room was a bit tight but it was clean. It served its purpose to sleep and shower and the hot continental breakfast was a BIG plus since prices are astronomical up there compared to here in Delaware. What really sold me on the hotel was the gentleman that checked us in. He was super friendly and had a sense of humor. Even when there was a hiccup with our credit card processing, he was patient and continued to be jovial as we resolved the issue. Would stay there again if necessary.
The staff here are there to meet your needs. The hotel is older and not a resort , However it is perfect for the business traveler or if you are visiting family in the area. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. Plenty of good places to eat walking distance. The staff really go out of there way to assist with any requests.
Pulled up to the location to be met with a tiny parking lot. First. Glance was what I expected to see but after checking in and went to our room, quickly saw it wasn’t what we paid for. Paid a lot of money for a king suit and we didn’t get a suit. That was the main issue for us at that point. It was clean, ( slight musty smell in the room tho ) but overall it was very clean. Parking was terrible and spaces were tiny. ( If you own an SUV, good luck fitting into spaces without hitting support columns ) if you own a truck, it’s prob not happing for you to park anywhere on premises. ( unless you park all the way in the back ) and if that’s the case. Don’t leave because when you come back you won’t have any parking spaces available most likely.
Had a very pleasant stay. All the staff are extremely pleasant and James at the front desk was exceptional. Yes, the room is small but it was fine, everything was there that you need. Desk is small, but that wasnt a problem. They dont call it a laptop for nothing. I would definitely stay again. Oh and to the guy who was bothered by the blue light over the bed, did you ever think to look on the nightstand, the switch is right there.
Was not greeted as a Gold Member upon arrival nor offered the quick snack or 500 points as other Holiday Inns offer. The room was small, cramped, and bathroom not as told to be. Construction going on outside room door was very noisy and dirty. Asked about another room but was told none. Hotel wasnt filled with guests. Not up to standards that I get at the other IHG properties. Worst breakfast buffet. Waste of money!
I guess you get what you pay for. Comfortable bed and good price, but the hotel and staff needs some TLC. The microwave and the pancake maker did not work. There was no syrup for the pancakes anyway. Trash cans were overflowing, the hallways needed to be vacuumed, and there were cigarette butts all over the parking lot. The manager was yelling at the employees in front of the guests in the breakfast area.
During these times they didn’t miss a beat on doing all they can to keep their workers and guests safe . Masks Worn , sanitizers available, social distancing practices and reminders posted everywhere from where to stand in elevator , reception , signage etc to ensure all stay safe. Vincent at reception was great ! Had great stay, comfortable beds etc. would stay again !
The hotel was conveniently located to the highway . The room was clean but was too small for a family of four. The breakfast was good and for the purpose I needed to stay overnight for the price I paid it was worth it. The only person who worked on Christmas Eve also was there on Christmas Day and was very friendly and had a great attitude. Overall I would recommend this hotel if you are in town and just need a place to sleep.
If you want a comfortable, clean and friendly place to stay, you wont be disappointed. The complimentary breakfast is more like a full service breakfast offering a variety of food that will please everyone. Staff is very friendly and go out of their way to make sure you have a pleasant stay. The parking situation is less than desirable but that is the only negative thing I have to say.
My husband and I booked this hotel for the weekend as we came to NY to attend a wedding. I found this property very small with very tight parking. When we arrived to the desk at night to check in, There was NO ONE at the front desk. We waited for few minutes and still no one shows up. I started to look around, while my husband is still waiting at the desk. After good 20 minutes, the front desk agent shows up. I asked the FDA (Anita) that where has she been. She mentioned that she had to go deliver stuff to the guest rooms and there is no other employee in the building except her. I was so surprised to learn this. How do you only have one employee at evening shift? This is so ridiculous. Anita was really nice and apologized for the wait. She was very accomodating. I was super late for one of the wedding events due to this wait. I also found the rooms very small and suffocating. We also put a DND on our door at night since we didnt want our room serviced the next morning, but the housekeeping still cleaned our room.
Have stayed here many times for convenience with my job, and will again. Always clean and friendly, very comfortable, extremely nice staff. Rooms not huge but totally adequate, very well appointed. They do not provide an option for an in room microwave or mini fridge, which I see as the one draw back - if they did this place would get a perfect 10 in my book for a great business stay.
Entrance driveway is 1-lane (also the exit) off of busy Northern Blvd making entering dicey. Parking is an adventure with small spaces. Every space has a column making them seem even tighter. Theres not a lot of parking spaces; gets filled early. Our check-in process was slow and disorganized. The lighting in the halls is terrible. Tiny & dim LEDs placed far apart. It was so dark that my wife commented that if she were alone she would not be comfortable walking the halls. Our room was very small; no fridge or enough flat surfaces for 2 people. Walls (inside and outside) are paper thin. We could here all of the traffic outside and noises in adjacent rooms. No 3rd (top) floor rooms were available for a Platinum, so we were on the 2nd. No sound dampening between floors. We could hear clomping from the 3rd floor until around midnight, then it started again 0500. Sleep was very difficult for the 2 nights. Lastly... breakfast doesnt start until 0630 M-F and 0700 Sa-Su. We went down at 0630, nothing was out. Since I had to be at work by 0700, at 0639 we asked for the OJ machine to be turned on, took a few yogurts from the fridge, and left. I will not be returning to this location.
Everyone on staff was attentive to my needs and the facilities were nice. My stay was extended, so I ended up there longer than anticipated. Every day I was greeted with a good morning and every evening I was met with a smile from the front desk personnel. The complimentary breakfast was a nice touch and was refreshed often. I would definitely stay here again.Kudos to the staff!
The only flaw with this property is the difficulty of parking in the garage, but that really is a flaw of the design of our vehicles in America in that they do not have great turning radius. Its tight and a little difficult to maneuver. Everything else about this hotel was excellent and an excellent centrally location. The staff was super friendly, compassionate and exhibited a high level of customer service. People may complain about the size of the rooms and not enough of a common area to visit with numerous guests all staying together, but if you are there to sleep and go out about your business, then this is an excellent hotel to stay at.
If youre looking for a luxury stay, you wont get it here, but thats not what Holiday Inn Expresses strive for. The rooms are clean, bed is reasonably comfortable, the fitness center is clean with basic equipment, and the breakfast buffet has a surprising number of options. Overall happy with my experience.
This hotel was comfortable, clean and convenient. The staff was friendly and attentive. The room was clean and though small, was well appointed and maximized the use of space efficiently. The room overlooked the neighboring Porsche dealership, which was fun to see. The only drawback was fairly significant road noise, due to the rooms large window. Also, the driveway is a bit tricky in and out of the Hotel due to the heavy traffic volume.
The service rendered by the woman at the front desk, who happened to be the manager, was impeccable. She very willingly and without any hassle accommodated my changing itinerary, which involved shortening my trip as well as a schedule change. She truly is an asset to the organization. The bed was good but the room and bathroom could have been a bit cleaner. The room itself is on the smaller side.
Mr. Hanif has always been very courteous and accommodating throughout all of my stays at this location. His professionalism and attention to details enables business to be done efficiently. I certainly commend and recommend this location to anyone who needs to utilize the services offered in an expedient manner. All of the staff I’ve met have been pleasantly friendly.
... this should suit you just fine.My wife and 3 kids were in town for a funeral. This was a perfect location for us to spend a night. Mall down the street, nearby Dunkin’ Donuts, very convenient. Room was immaculate as was the bathroom. My wife and I along with three small kids fit comfortably in a room with two double beds. Mattress could have been a little firmer but I’m nitpicking. Breakfast was good, bacon could cook maybe for and minute or two longer, but again, I nitpick. They need to repaint the parking lines to allow for larger vehicles to fit comfortably. That said, I recommend this holiday inn express for anyone in town for a day or two.
The room was only a tiny bigger than the bed. The cable tv only had 24 hour infomercials on almost all the channels. Wifi didnt work. Traffic noise from Northern blvd intense. Breakfast included pancakes that extruded out of a machine like a 3d printer when you pushed the big red button. Cost was surprisingly high for hotel obviously built for very budget experience. There were many signs suggesting guests give the maximum satisfaction ratings. The staff tried hard, and were very good, but overall, I felt like my experience was a little contest between me and the owners or engineers or whoever designed this kind of hotel experience.
I decided last minute to stay at this hotel and checked in around 11:20 PM. I think they should have special rates if calling around 11 for a room. The room was around pricey for the night. The room was very clean, bed and pillows comfortable. The room size was so much smaller than a standard room, noisy from the road traffic, no refrigerator and a small bathroom, shower only. In my opinion, this was not worth the money.
The staff at the Holiday Inn Express Roslyn are simply wonderful: helpful, accommodating, responsive, pleasant. Among the best staff anywhere. Anita and her manager Judy are terrific. The hotel is located on busy Northern Blvd., so traffic noise can be an issue. The rooms are all very small. If you need a surface on which to place a suitcase, or would like to have drawers in the room for items, you wont find either, unfortunately, at this property. Also note that the parking is tricky: there is one narrow driveway for both incoming and outgoing traffic in the covered parking areas; I sounded my horn on two instances to avoid collisions.
I hate to sound like a spoiled American, but the rooms in this hotel are just too small. It was challenging to have 2 persons in the room at the same time. Closet space is almost non-existent and you must take the ironing board out of the closet to have space for clothing. (It is interesting that there are ironing boards and irons in every room but no space for clothing.) The rooms are reminiscent of Japanese hotel rooms but with none of the clever efficiency or technological conveniences. I was staying with a group, in 5 rooms. There was no place in the hotel for 3 people to gather, except the breakfast room. This is far from my first stay in a HIE and I was very confident that this would be a fine place for us to stay. My mistake.
This was our fourth visit to this location. Overall the rooms were clean, well appointed, and comfortable. My only real complaint is the breakfast which is limited and lacks in healthy choices. The bagels were terrible (especially considering location is like the Bagel capital of the nation), the fruit choices were bananas, the pre made egg omelettes could be best described as creepy, and the coffee is terrible. Really there is no excuse for the bitter truck stop like coffee. Theres an easy fix for this. Buy better coffee equipment and use better coffee. I had to walk down the block to Duncan Donuts so I could survive the stay. Otherwise the hotel is fine.
Overall our stay was good. We came from far and it was late when we arrived. By the time we got there we just wanted to relax and watch some television. Unfortunately since the weather was bad, Direct TV was down. That was disappointing and a first! All the employees were very nice and courteous. Breakfast was good and the staff member attending to the breakfast area was very attentive. Good location....near a lot of shops and restaurants.
My wife and I spent four nights int he hotel leading up to labor day. On the positive side, the front deask staff went above and beyond to help us when we complianed that there was no luggage stand in the room. While our problem was addressed I was advised that there are no luggage racks in the hotel, which in my view is a major inconvenience. Our room was spotless (we may have been the first guests) but the room and the bathroom were very small. If you are looking for a clean and comfortable hotel close to the North Shore and places such as Sagamore Hill, you will be happy here.
Only stay at the top floor of this hotel. The noise from the guest walking above is beyond annoying. The air conditioning has 2 levels extremely cold or hot. The complimentary breakfast is tolerable at best. No plug in bathroom for hair dryer as mirror is in the way. You must close the bathroom door to use the sink. Desk area is very narrow and not useable. Will not stay there again.
I have never had such a bad experience at a hotel before. Due to some glitch in the computer system, we were given a key to a room that another person was staying in. The next room we were given was not made up (at 8:45 pm at night). The third room was freezing cold, had no TV signal, and had 2 double beds instead of the king bed we had reserved. In that room someone try to enter our room at 11:30 pm because they had been given a key to it. There was noise from banging doors, people walking above us, and a TV playing in another room all night, so we could not sleep at all. The breakfast was mediocre. The parking was inadequate. We were offered 500 IHG reward points to make up for the room mixup, which was not adequate to compensate for the inconvenience. I would avoid this hotel at all costs.
Its a shame, Ive been to good Holiday Inn Express locations, but this is not one. For starters, this is a microtel. There isnt even a closet, or a table/desk which you can actually do work at. The furniture looks like the stuff youd see in a dorm room. Everything is designed with an air of cheapness. Even the air itself, which has a plastic-y smell throughout the hotel. I was very surprised at all this for the price. I stay in the area regularly, and have gotten some pretty nice rooms for the same price they charge here. On a positive note, the place was clean, but it isnt enough to redeem the overall depressing air of cheapness and cut corners. I will definitely never stay here again, and will think twice before booking a Holiday Inn Express in the future.
The room was extremely small I was unable to take a shower because the shower door would not close and water went every where. The room is way to small it was very uncomfortable because of the size. The area had good food eateries in the areas recommend the Landmark a block away.I only recommend the property if you have to stay in the areas otherwise look for something better.
This is the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in, and Ive travelled widely in the US and Europe. One in London once cam close, but this was definitely smaller. The bathroom was also tiny, but did have a full tub with shower. The main problem was the inefficient and very noisy AC unit. It was quite warm, and the AC simply didnt work well. When we opened the door to the room from the hallway, the humidity of the room was palpable.
I thought it was a little pricey but convenient. Ice machine was not working and we had food we had to keep cold for a party. One thing that bothered me and was kind of disgusting and I should have should you - but on our coffee tray in the room we found a broken off from someone, a green painted fingernail. Otherwise the room was fine. I just immediately cleaned that tray. Also, on Friday we came back at 3:00 to get ready for dinner and our room had not be updated yet. THAT was very disappointing, we had been out since 8:30 that morning. Breakfast, staff, parking and overall room was good. Rooms are a bit small with only two small drawers for storage.
Parking spaces abound and close to good food choices. The outside noise was deafening. The rooms are small but clean. No fridges unless you ask and you better be ready to wait for one If you are e pe ting Express check out under the door think again. Wifi is sketchy andndisconnects often. Poor channel selection on the tube so bring a tablet or pad if you want to watch any good cable shows. Its cheap and I guess for NY you get what you pay for. The staff was pleasant and the nearby food was really great.
Great little hotel in the Roslyn area of Long Island NY. Very safe and close to some really fine restaurants within walking distance. The rooms have a European feel to them. They are small but very functional. Showers only but otherwise very comfortable. Breakfast items were very good, and as noted a great location. Price was very good for the location. I strongly recommend this facility.
I was in town for a few days. It is a great place to stay. they give you a decent breakfast in the morning and it is clean. However, the rooms are on the smaller end and if you have kids around your room, you WILL hear them. Also the ALL the towels smelled like cigarettes. I didnt have enough energy to ask for new ones since I was already out of the shower and had no choice and left that morning.
There was not enough parking for the guests staying at the hotel. The The receptionist shrugged his shoulders and said oh well we have a full house. Hotel is located on a busy street . We were offered to park on the street, which was completely packed. Returning to your hotel after midnight following a wedding, it was unreasonable to be offered park a few blocks away and walk. Plus leaving car parked in an unfamiliar neighborhood was not comforting. The parents of the bride am booked the blocks of rooms was left to drive back to her home and not stay at the hotel and greet her guests in the morning, because parking could not be found. Terrible experience for people at the end of a very long and special day, but it should be ruined like that
Front desk was friendly, room and bath were comfortable except for one problem: unexpected feather pillows (Im allergic). Was able to swap my two feather pillows with my sons two synthetic pillows but would prefer more clarity about this in the future or the ability to specifically reserve synthetic pillows. Also, the eggs and bacon and coffee were great, but the juice machine was mislabeled - not sure what was in the orange juice part, but it wasnt OJ!
Well I have to say that from the moment we stepped in the hotel we received warmest welcome from Felicia, then we got to our room and it was VERY clean. We actually had a bunch of family who flew in from around the world for our aunts funeral. The last minute booking, to even checking out was fantastic!!! It started to snow and they had fabulous men handling the driveway and walk areas. I truthfully would highly recommend anyone and everyone to use the Holiday Inn Express if they need a hotel in the area! OH and the cinnamon rolls were delish with the complimentary breakfast!!Truthfully I would change one thing, the shower floor was very slippery when you had soap on it. My Fiance actually fell but he was okay. He said he was washing his body and the soap made the floor super slippery. Then when I got in the shower I noticed that as soon as suds hit the floor it was very slippery! Maybe just put those sticky things on the tub floor!
This is a physically modest Inn on a tight site with frontage on Northern Boulevard between Port Washington Boulevard and the Roslyn viaduct. This Inn is probably an older building that originally served as a budget brand motel that was converted to a Holiday Inn Express in recent years. By contemporary standards the rooms are tight and there is no pool or other outdoor amenity other than free parking about half of which is covered. Offsetting these limitations are the Inn’s fresh decor and fixtures and excellent cleanliness. Also worth noting are the prices, which are considerably lower than at other facilities that I checked in the area. Finally, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, this Holiday Inn Express has to be considered the value leader in the Port Washington/Roslyn area.
I would recommend this hotel only for short stays of no more than 2-3 day. The rooms are so small you have to move the luggage on and off the bed to move around.I have stayed here 6-7 times since it opened in Aug 2015 because it is convenient and reasonably priced.I have never been acknowledged as an IHG rewards member and despite asking at check in every time, not gotten welcome points until I contact the corporate HQ.Staff is friendly and service is improving, but additional training is needed.
The associate team that I interfaced with were friendly; and professional in all respects. They cheerfully work through some of the space challenges of this property. As a Spire Elite; Ive seen my share of rooms; and they do a great job here. The facility itself is a bit funky; not purpose built as an HIE; but a conversion; so compromises abound. The compromises center on the fact that this part of Long Island is well built up and developable land is limited as well the ability to expand/remodel or change is quite limited. Hotel rooms at this price point are at a premium as well. All of that said; rooms are quite small; bathrooms are smaller; but all areas were clean and tidy. Its a modern, safe and comfortable property; just tight on space. The breakfast area is standard HIE; and the attendant in this area on the morning of my visit; was running around clearing and refilling as fast as possible; because this area is tight on space as well. She did a great job.All in all; a good and brief stay. Akin to a number of HIE properties Ive stayed while traveling in Europe; in terms of space.
We stayed for 9 nights whilst visiting our son at the USMMA. The rooms must have recently been refurbished or its a new hotel - everything was new, clean and comfortable! The staff went out of their way to be accommodating, kind and courteous! Will definitely stay again!
The most important things were great: it was clean and safe, and the staff was friendly. The breakfast was the expected HIE fare (I would love to see each HIE have one Managers special breakfast item to add a little unique flavor to each visit.)The only minor issues were the parking situation, some noise, and uncomfortable mattresses. The hotel is in a heavily built up area, and the parking is under the hotel The pillars supporting the hotel have to be maneuvered around to park, and the entrance/exit is one lane, and at least at night, wasnt obviously the entrance. We could hear some guest noises from other rooms, none particularly loud, but the rooms are not well soundproofed. Both mattresses had significant ruts that made it difficult to get comfortable.
I now make a point of looking for Holiday Inn Express hotels when I travel for work. This hotel is on a busy road, but the room I had toward the back hears absolutely no traffic noise at all. There are three restaurants within a hundred yards of this hotel -- I dont drive, so that was a convenient plus. And many places deliver. Front desk clerk was very helpful and friendly.
Extremely small room. been staying here for 3 weeks and not a pleasant experience. had issues getting a frig in my room, getting the tv fixed, getting charged an extra day, actually getting a receipt. The staff is as helpful as they could be is suppose but stayed at a lot of Holiday Inns nation wide and this is by far way at the bottom. Hopefully if I have to stay her again in the future requests will be taken care of the first time instead of re-asking.
I stay here frequently on business. While the rooms are smaller than some hotels, everything is well laid out and very functional. The staff are friendly and breakfast choices are excellent. My room is always clean and the competitive rates mean an excellent value. All in all, its a solid choice if you need to stay in the Port Washington/Roslyn area
The place is on a hill (most of Manhasset is) and Northern Blvd is very busy with traffic at all times. The rooms are noisy, I had to request a room change. Rooms are clean but small, so dont bring in more than 1 small bag. Bathrooms are wonderful, too bad I did not get to sleep in the bathroom, well I guess I could have. Parking is weird - the building is elevated so you have open parking under the hotel - tough to get into and almost impossible to turn around if the lot is full. Did not get a chance to try the breakfast. Papa Johns delivers for a late night craving. Not a fan , will not stay there
Great Service at checked-in and breakfast. Always greeted by cleaning crew when I walked by the corridor. Perfect staff.Room condition - much room for improvement. Heater was not working (kept at 50F the whole night) and then bath tub had drainage issue that no shower could be enjoyed. Other than these, the room was very clean.
I think that the title of the review says it all. The room is a little small so if you have a lot of luggage and want to do a significant amount of online work, you may be cramped. I would not contemplate having more than two people in this room. There is a most excellent restaurant in its shadows, Bryant and Cooper where we went for dinner. Not cheap but wonderful food and service. The entrance is tough to see as you drive by one Northern Boulevard. All in all it was a pleasant experience. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful.
Attended a wedding at the swan club and stayed here for the night with some friends. Nice sized rooms. Breakfast wasnt good. We forgot to bring toothbrushes with us and they provided us with complimentary ones which was definitely appreciated. Overall, good experience.
My stay was amazing, I read several reviews before that presented poor valoration about the hotel, but for me was great, totally adapted to my needs, the staff kindness and their gentleness was felt all the time, silent environment, a room with double bed, clean in all areas, and great TV channels. I cant imagine something better. They made my day over there much better. Thank you
Super courteous and amazing staff, updated rooms and facilities with smart and functional layouts. Decent and healthy breakfast spreads daily. Convenient location that is pedestrian friendly. Family friendly location. Very quiet. Clean organized and secure accomodations that are well worth every dollar spent.
Booked this hotel for a wedding weekend. The hotel location was very convenient and easy to access, rooms were a bit small but smartly designed. Staff was very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. The breakfast offered a nice variety - all fresh and tasty.
I cannot find words to describe my experience here. The entrance is a dangerous turn off the road which insights horns honking from all directions. the parking area is currently inhabited by construction workers and the front desk is literally that...a desk. I didI have truly never felt like scrapping the money and just leaving to find another hotel, but I did not know the area or have the time to spare. This hotel forced me into staying much longer at the trade show I was attending just so i didnt have to be in the hotel room. I did not unpack just waited for the morning to arrive. The walls were thinner than paper - it was as if I was watching the TV in the next persons room. There was approximately 18 inches between the bed and the wall. There is not enough room to set all your toiletries on the bathroom sink. Shower floor was not clean - I wore flip flops.I would like to say the staff were an upside, but they didnt seem to realize they were actually at work. The elevator floors were filthy, the free breakfast was inedible. I looked around and walked right out. When I asked for the front desk attendant to check out, a random worker said she was across the street making more breakfast food. he said he could help me check out, but as the printer was not working he could not print my receipt - so basically I couldnt really check out.I gave him my email address - I still dont have a receipt 5 days later.I really dont have time to time all of the horrors of this hotel. I just want to pretend it never happened. I cannot imagine one single reason for choosing to stay here ever again. If you have to, there is a fantastic steakhouse next door but the hotel staff does not seem to be aware that it exists as they pointed me to a Diner.
The price was way too high for the value. The room was best suited for 1 person not 2. There was no in room refrigerator and microwave. There was one desk chair to sit on besides the bed. No table or bench for suitcases, had to work off the floor. Upon arrival, the stench in the hallway was horrible as if something died. First impressions are very important, Roslyn failed miserably. I will never use this one again. Holiday Inn should be embarrassed with this one.
I was promised an accessible room, as well as a refrigerator and microwave. I felt the desk was too small. Lighting was too small. Also, the room was cold. Staff did not properly set the temperature gouge. Also, I could hear street noise. Luggage cart was not readily available. Staff not handy yo help me.
Please see comments in survey.the customer service was the best part of my stay. Ricardo greeted me when I came for breakfast and assisted me with small tasks. Prescilla was the on the front counter and she was able to help me as well. neither service member gave me the vibe that I was a bother or that they didnt like working there. I am in the customer service business. I could easily hire someone like them and make them lead supervisors. I also believe the leadership of the Manager on duty is the driving force. but the room we went in first smelled and there was hair in the bed. the second room was much better.
Rooms were small, which was expected, but there were really small, barely room to move, no workable desk to speak of. AC in room didnt work well, new unit but controls were difficult and navigate and temps fluctuated. Barely room to store anything. Bathroom very small and shower very small, water pressure low. Very clean however. Staff very friendly, breakfast as expected and more than adequate, Parking areas very tight and apparently used by nearby dealership to store vehicles (dealer plates on many vehicles), Could find space but very tight. Rates were high compared to the size of room and distance from city, however not many options in the area, so this was a suitable option and would recommend for people needing to stay in area, Very accessible to local communities.
Doll house size room closet and un-functional countertops desk and storage. Request for extra blankets and second day amenity replacement never happened. We were uncomfortable with ununiformed staff ...couldnt tell who worked their and who was a guest, seems unprofessional. Parking garage is for compact cars at best. Breakfast is basic and again, like entire place area is small and uncomfortable feeling!
The staff was excellent! Priscilla, the front desk clerk met us when we arrived, and was suuuper friendly!! The staff, there was Anthony, and another man who helped us, by carrying a refrigerator up to the room, forgot his name, but was excellent! The bed was super comfy, the food was great! As a Christian, I am really impressed with IHG! We had found a Bible in the room, and a lot of coorparations, are turning away from that, because of PC. And bacon on the breakfast bar, yummy! The whole vacation trip, was all Holiday Inns, 5 in all! Its a no brained when traveling, Holiday Inns!!
The bed was incredibly big for the room, almost looming appearing claustrophobic. I did have the room to myself so I got over that. The internet service was superb. Had service throughout my whole stay. The staff was very patient with when it came to my questions and friendly.Checkout was fast and easy.
My wife and I thought the room and the bathroom were way too small. We had a room on the 2nd floor on the street side. The car noise on Northern Blvd and the stomping from the room above us kept us up all night. We only stayed a night but it was not a relaxing or restful night. Try a room on the side or back of this building. The staff, room cleanliness, and value were excellent.
I just had one quick overnight here, but the room and facilities were clean and modern, the parking lot private and secure, the wifi worked fine, an there was a surprisingly good free breakfast. The room was small, but fine for my needs. Excellent value for the price paid.
The title says it all. Its nice hotel, the staff was helpful and friendly, the room was clean, small, but quiet. Good TV. Good location. Comfortable bed. Nice breakfast with helpful breakfast room attendant. But taking a shower was like standing under a dripping faucet. Thats my only complaint. Might seem minor, but it isnt. They really should do something about it. Gets your day off to a drippy start.
The staff was very friendly. From the day I checked in until I left 2 weeks later, every single person I encountered was extremely helpful. Breakfast always seemed to be late. It started at 6:30am and rarely was all of the food out before 7am. One morning, even the coffee didnt arrive until around 6:45am. The rooms had a fresh modern look, however, there was barely even enough room to open up a laptop, much less a newspaper.

2022-06-09My room was clean and stocked with everything I needed to make for a comfortable and pleasant stay. Even the Continental breakfast was good with plenty of fruit, variety of eggs, breads, cereals, juices, coffee and tea options offered. The hotel is situated in a nice town where theres local shops and restaurants to enjoy.

2022-04-16Positive: Free Breakfast variety was good except the pancake maker had no dough in it for the two mornings we were there. Reasonably clean room. Negative: Too expensive for the quality. Very small room and tiny bathrooms. Somewhat noisy location. The overall layout and design of the hotel is very poor. The only elevator broke down one day, was fixed the next day.

2022-05-04Location was great as I was staying for business. Breakfast was good and I was surprised at how large the room was! The photo with sports car is a little misleading, I never saw that parking lot, I parked in the parking deck, which was tiny and dark. My TV did not work.

2022-06-02Our flight got cancelled so we got a voucher here. About 30 mins from the airport. Got there late at night, the desk lady had printer issues and kept trying to figure it out to be able to room us and a few other guests in the same situation. Once the papers printed, she organized it so we could all get checked in at once and have minimal paperwork. We woke up in the morning and were waiting in the loby for our Lyft drive and she opened the breakfast early so we could grab something, even gave us bags to take food. The rooms are pretty small but clean but the service there is absolutely amazing

2022-04-19Do not stay at this disgusting hotel, it is dirty, the lobby, hallways and rooms all smell like smoke. I requested a refund and they refused to refund me. There is a very nice Marriot property 1 mile away that is only $20 more a night and extremely nice

2022-03-12Very small rooms, no refrigerator in room, super slow elevator, breakfast was fine. It did have a Kuerig coffee maker and the worlds smallest microwave.
