Holiday Inn New York City - Wall Street, an IHG Hotel in New York

I really, really DO NOT recommend this place. First thing, the location was alright but much further from all of the citys main (uptown) sightseeing spots (ex. central park, MET, MoMA, Times Square, and the Empire State Building). It is only an okay spot if you are comfortable taking the subway uptown. Upon our arrival, they told us we could not store our luggage there even though a representative on the Holiday Inns website said we could. The worker then sent us to a luggage storage company that did not exist, and was unaccountable when we told her. We came back for our check in at 3pm and our room was not ready until 4:30pm. We sat in the lobby watching many other people get their rooms immediately. The worker was unhelpful and slightly rude. Finally, after an hour and a half of waiting, we got our tiny, dirty, smelly room. It stunk of bed bug spray (I assume that is why we had to wait) and one side of the floor was soaking wet with I dont know what. The tabletops were dirty (it looked like yougurt on them) and the shower was also filthy with hair in it. In addition, no cleaning service provided. On top of this, we booked our stay with breakfast included. However, the worker failed to tell us breakfast was no longer available because of a renovation. So, if we did not ask about it, we would have never gotten a refund.
Positive: The staff was very friendly and the location was good. Negative: This hotel has seen better days. They really need to do a lot of work to even bring it up to average standards. Its very run down. I was shocked and I am not very picky. Also, no hotel shuttle despite stating there was on the website.
I do not recommend staying here. As many other comments state, there is an unpleasant smell throughout the entire hotel. The rooms are small which is expected for NYC, but our bathroom floor was flooded and soaked the carpet. Our blinds are also very dirty and do not work properly so we cannot roll them up to hide the dirt. Management could not offer another room for us and somehow approved this for customers. Very disappointed.
I addressed all my issues with the staff before I checked out. 1) I arrived early and was grateful to park my bag while I waited for my room to be ready. Unfortunately the cleaning crew was behind on this holiday weekend, no worries, it happens. But when I checked in, I was given keys to a room with someone else already inside. Oops. The front desk apologized profusely and gave me another room that wasnt what I reserved, two queens instead of one king. 2) there was no remote control for the TV. 3) the shower curtain was an inch too short, meaning the bathroom flooded when I took a shower. 4) happy the staff allowed me to check out about 45 minutes after stated check out time.
This hotel is not a 3 star hotel as they claim to be. No water bottles in the room, nor given at checkin. I stayed for 3 days, got 2 small bottles on the second day. Got the rude answer that they give only 2 bottles at check-in but not everyday. Never seen a hotel where they run out of water. they charge a destination fee of $15 on top of the hefty room charge that the hotel is not worth for. The carpets were stinking, broken latches, toilet roll holder etc. Location was good, close to subways and cortland station. other than that money is not worth for.
This was one of the worst hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. The photos and reviews must be from before lockdown because this room was in no state to be charging $400+ a night. The entire floor reeked and the smell was even worse in the room. The air-conditioner was noisy and added to the must/moldy smell in the room. All of the curtains, walls, carpets, and the bedframe were stained. There was only a thin single layer sheet between me and the stained mattress. Do not trust reviews that are over 1 year old and do not trust the photos that are available online because this is not accurate to the current condition of this property. I was supposed to stay for 3 nights and had to check out after 1.
This is one of the worst hotels I think I’ve ever stayed at. There’s a distinct smell in the room that would not go away. In the middle of March I had to open the windows all night long. The problem with that is there was refuse and trash inside the room heater which started stinking when you turn the heat on. There was no phone in the room you had to call an outside line to talk to the front desk. They left us Keurig pods but the coffee machine was not Keurig compatible.
Absolutely disgusting. The hotel has a bad smell from the minute you walk in, a combination of cigarettes and wet carpet. I waited in the lobby for 10 mins but no one was at the front desk to check me in. Once I finally got attended to, I went up to my room only to find it unkept. It was evident the sheets were used, with lint and hair on it. I turned on the heat and there was a a very bad smell, as if something was burning inside of it. I called the front desk to tell them about the sheets but no one picked up for 20 minutes. I went back down to the lobby, ready to check out, but I was offered another room. This one was a little better but there was a roach crawling by the doorway, making its way to the pizza boxes that were left in the hallway from the next room. One of my worst stays in NYC.
Positive: The location was near one of the main subway stations and walking distance from WTC. Negative: Several things I did not like. First the website stated there was a shuttle and there is no shuttle. Secondly when I was calling the hotel the day of my arrival the phone was busy for over an hour. Unable to get assistance. Thirdly the room had a smel
Tyreese was an absolute godsend he not only got us into the hotel earlier so that we didnt have to walk around with all our luggage but got us an even better room for no extra charge. He never greeted us without a smile and was an endless supply of positive energy would come back in a heartbeat
Positive: Nothing Negative: Room looked small in pictures but we¿re absolutely tiny in person. AC hardly worked room was very humid and sticky. When we arrived beds were made in room but bathroom was untouched from guest before us. Bathroom had dirty towels, hair, used toothbrush
Positive: Absolutely nothing. Disgusting hotel that caused me an eye intention. Negative: I have a open complaint with this disgusting hotel. The room was destroyed and I was told it was the last room available. I¿ve sent in photographic evidence of the broken doors, clogged sink, clogged toilet, dirty bed, dirty walls and bathroom.
Positive: The location is great¿close to the 911 memorial. The concierge answered our questions about parking. Negative: The shower was dirty. There were no hangers or iron. When we asked for hangers, we got 3 wire hangers. We called for plumbing when it clogged after the first person used the toilet. We had to call twice, and finally someone showed up an hour later.
They charged me the security deposit without any reason, I asked for a receipt for this charge when I checked in and they wouldn’t gave me one because the charge would be returned after I check out. They waited one week after the check out to apply the charge and now my bank has charged me the $100 dollars and say that my complain doesn’t proceed, so I have to pay it anyway. They are stealing this money from me.
This hotel is situated in a great location, it’s about a 7 minute walk from the World Trade Centre and there are so many things to do in the area.I would say this alone makes it of great given its reasonable price. The staff were for the most part very friendly and accommodating- I was able to check-out late with no extra cost and they always screened food delivery personnel before allowing them to come up.I stayed in a King Suite - the bed was like sleeping on a cloud, however the room is extremely small, even for Manhattan. There was also no housekeeping at any point during my stay.
Room cleanliness was greatly appreciated especially in downtown NY.Small rooms in are something one can expect. What was completely unexpected was (a) nobody would even pick up the garbage during our stay, let alone clean the room, (b) a coffee maker but no cups, coffee, sugar, etc.All in all, this particular Holiday Inn seems to have gone the AirBnB way, a shame since there is a reason why those of us who still choose a hotel do so.Holiday Inn is allowing the one differentiator disappear... One can get a clean room in a good location through AirBnb, its the higher service level what should make the difference.
I am an IHG Premier member using points and annual bonus for a three night /four day visit to the Big Apple. Turned out to be crazy given Omnicron outbreak (cancelled Broadway shows, masking everywhere) but team at Holiday Inn NYC was top notch. For corporate management I note the manager Mike, the assistant manager Randall, the desk manager Felix, and the maintenance staffer Eduardo by name to commend their top notch service. Great location, great service, great city in its holiday finest, all confirming why I am ecstatic to be an IHG member. Keep up the great work. Thanks for the top notch, memorable stay. Keep up the great work. Thanks Mike, you have a great team.
Great location, easy check in/out. Restaurant is closed so don’t expect complementary breakfast. Also no laundry bags available and staff doesn’t wear masks (plexiglass barriers at the desk). BUT hotel room clean and quiet and again: great location. Would definitely recommend and will definitely stay here again!
The location was great - close to our most desired vacation experiences. The room was small and a bit cramped for the room rate but everything was clean and the staff met our every request. It was an inconvenience that we only had one chair to accommodate my wife and myself but, I know now that I probably only would have had to ask for another to be brought to our room - the staff fulfilled all our other requests without hesitation. Because of Covid the restaurant/breakfast room was closed but the hotel provided good boxed items each morning. The room was quiet, well lighted, a good mattress, and overall comfortable. We slept well.
Orlando and Francisco were the best part of the stay. They were extremely nice and super professional. The room was a bit warm AC seemed to not be working at full capacity and no cleaning service unless you requested it (fresh towels as well). No food or beverage service but breakfast boxes were made available. I’m sure this was do to staffing and the fact that COVID restrictions were just lifted in NYC. I also originally booked the Holiday Inn Express but due to low booking I was moved to a regular Holiday Inn at the last minute.
I do not recommend this location. The entire hotel smells of smoke. The daytime staff were not very friendly and I did not feel welcome at all. The outside of the property has no lighting so it’s very difficult to find at night. The bed had only a sheet, no blanket. I requested a blanket a few times but “they couldn’t find one”. The toilet handle was falling off and could barely flush. Will never stay here again
The ad was very misleading but Sadiq was 🏆wonderful. He made my stay very welcoming. His very bubbly personality was so inviting. He made us feel like we had the best room in the hotel. Being though we were in New York for a family member illness, he made us feel right at home. He gave us great restaurant idea as well as directions to various locations. It was an honor to meet such a very nice person. 😊The James from Baltimore
Positive: Conveniently located to 2 large subway stations. Walking distance to several major downtown attractions. Negative: Lobby was small and rather shabby as was the elevator and hallways. No mini fridge in the room. Maybe this was listed in the room description, but some things, you just assume are included.
Noon check out is great but unfortunately I couldnt sleep. They took my last minute reservation for a double bed room at 1230am. Finally parked because there is noooo parking and Got in at 2am. 4am I was up tossing and turning to BED BUGS! THE TOILET AINT FLUSH the rooms seemed clean bathroom has great lighting. The floor stinks idk like what but it just do. Stood on 9th floor
The workers in the evening/night are inattentive. They are barley around and one of them even parks their car infront with his hazards and just goes in and out. I waited one hour for housing to bring me an extra blanket and 30m I called and checked in again with the front desk and he gave me an attitude and just said “they are coming” and we are ended the conversation. Sleep was very comfortable! Had a King bed with the balcony. Rooms are T.I.N.Y with no fridge or even a building microwave! Which is what most hotels have at LEAST. Fast forward to my last day I left my charger in the room and the manager who is AWESOME , told me that he’d give it to the evening/night staff since he was clocking out so when I was on my way and off the bridge I called them to confirm for the charger and this man named “Felix” literally yelled at me as soon as I picked up the phone! He said the charger wasn’t there so I asked him to check the drawer because that’s where the manager said he put in and Felix just said “ITS NOT HERE AND HOUSING IS OUT TODAY” he just kept saying that but yelling. I called the next day and the manager said it was right in the drawer and that he will put it in the lost and found. I’m going back next week to see what will happen hopefully everything goes well .
We loved our stay at this location in NYC! Staying in the financial district was such a good decision. Our entire experience was wonderful at this hotel. All staff were so nice and hospitable! We arrived early and the front desk staff took our luggage for us so we could park the car and enjoy the city. They provided excellent directions to the parking garage which was right around the corner and easy to find. We were updated (yay!) to what they described as a balcony room. This was NOT a balcony. It was a private roof top terrace that was INCREDIBLE! That does not happen in NYC! wow! The room was cozy but comfortable and I was impressed with the size of the bathroom. We will absolutely stay at this location again!
Have clean wash cloths for guest. I added a day on, I arrived April 16th and no clean towels were in the room. Housekeeping came later with the large towels but, had no clean wash cloths. She told me she would bring them back later, that never happened. I called on the 17th and they bought up more large towels, she said they still had no wash cloths. I advised the front desk it was unacceptable but, they had nothing they could do. I called the front desk again on 18th and was told they still hadnt received any clean wash cloths. All this during a pandemic, where cleanliness is very necessary. I dont understand why anyone would think it was acceptable to not have any clean wash cloths!!! To top it all off I gave them a different credit card at check in to charge for my stay and they still charged the wrong card.
Nothing about my stay was pleasant. None of the front desk staff were wearing masks and the room was musty and the sheet were dirty and slightly damp. There was no soap or shampoo in the shower. I asked about breakfast and I was given a lunch box with a bagel with no side of cream cheese and warm apple juice.
I enjoyed staying at this Holiday Inn. While my room was small, it contained everything I needed and the bed was extra comfortable. The hotel was quiet, which was great because I was working at night and sleeping during the day. The only downside was that there was no food service, due to COVID. That, however, was not the hotels fault. They were trying to keep everyone safe, which I appreciated. I would definitely stay at this hotel again, when in Manhattan.
We paid $280 for a double bed , 3 guests .Sad to say we could’ve gotten a 4 star hotel for not even 240 a night .-breakfast was “free “ but they were closed ….- no fridge in bedroom for $280...- they give you a keurig but no coffee or water to use... Plus since there is no fridge there is no water inside.- cant even walk around a room, its so small- place looks like a hospital.
Easily the worst hotel stays ever in my travelling history and Ive stayed at many different properties across the world. Here are the reasons why:1) Booking- I booked my stay with points for a different location( Water St) which was cancelled to this property. After several follow ups, they were able to verify this so called Transfer. I I was told later they might have cancelled my original reservation and wont be surprised if the reservation is not found! Confirmation# 494132602) Check-in- I am not even sure the person that checked me in was an IHG employee. Wore a hoodie, no greeting, let alone a smile. No badges or uniform. Didnt even greet for being a member. No preferences for staying or summarizing the length of stay. 3) Stay- Pathetic room! The room floor had hair all over. Room had a coffee maker but no cups, coffee pods or Sugar packets. I asked them to provide complimentary toothpaste/toothbrush and the FD staff denied saying they dont have it! More interestingly Wi-fi services werent working due to technical problems. I understand housekeeping is restricted due to COVID but I am also aware that you are supposed to at least provide fresh towels/wash-clothes and toiletries. 4) Check-out- Nobody was available at check out, let alone someone to take a feedback!Overall, very very disappointed with the services at the property and very surprised IHG even allowing such properties to be a part of their franchise! Again, COVID has affected everyone and hotels are no exception, but then a customer deserves a basic stay that is comfortable and worth the amount of money spent. I am only writing this review to ensure other customers are served a bit better, if possible. Please do not try to contact me over the phone. I am happy to communicate over email.
I stood in a balcony/king room. It was awesome. Balcony was huge and clean, as well as the room. Only a couple of things to nick pick about was the bathroom door being so close to toilet, balcony door hard to open and close all the way and no option for microwave or mini fridge. Other than that, nothing to complain about. Will definitely be coming back on my next trip to NY hoping to get the same room.
Located in the financial district, this hotel is close to several attractions. Although its lobby is quite small and might make you think you will not be confortable there, after checking-in and interacting with the staff and seeing your room, one can be quite satisfied of the hotel choice. Besides, we are not there to spend our time at the hotel. Rooms are confortable and clean and the staff is very helpful. Great value for your money (in NYC)! I will stay here again.
I have stayed here before and enjoyed and decided to stay again. Given the pandemic situation I am a lot more careful with where I stay. The hotel staff was very nice which is great, but I did not see the cleaning effort that IHG talks about in their emails and websites. I did not feel the common areas were cleaned regularly and people were not wearing face masks in the public areas including the elevator. I would also like to see a checklist in the room of what was cleaned in my room. Without a checklist I ended up using my own disinfectant wipes to wipe down the room including the telephone and TV remote.
The hotel is located in a great area of the City. It was very convenient to get to all downtown sites. The service, however, left something to be desired. They lack any of the amenities you usually come to expect at a good hotel and a couple of our complaints basically went unanswered. I didnt particularly feel very appreciated as a guest.
I only stayed at the HI Wall Street for one night, in transit between a business trip and a weekend with friends. But what a truly memorable stay. Yes yes the rooms are small, but I could easily fit in two massive suitcases and was still able to walk around with ease. Plus you are paying quite a bargain price for the location. Spotless room, amazingly comfortable bed, enough nice toiletries to keep me happy, super soft towels (far softer than the ‘posher and way more expensive’ non IHG hotel just up the road....) and the staff! Such lovely welcoming staff, from the two male receptionists, the lovely cleaning lady who I bumped into on the 8th floor and greeted me super cheerily with a wonderful smile! It was such a beautiful and welcome contrast from the efficient but frosty experience I’d had in my previous non IHG hotel. I hope to visit NY again next year and I will definitely stay at the HI again. Thanks for such a wonderful stay!
We had a great stay at Holiday Inn NYC Wall Street during the Columbus Day weekend. The room was really nice, modern, new, clean with comfortable bed and pillows. Before the visit, I read someone complaining about the small size of their room. Well, we visited our friends hotel room - different hotel with double the price, but the room wasnt much bigger than ours. So we were really pleased what we had chosen. I also liked the location - sights and shopping are so close. For the evening, we had a nice reunion at Stout NYC FiDi (Irish pub/sports bar), which is 4 minutes away. Again, I was really happy IHG Rewards Club member :)
Weve stayed here several times since our son is a student at Pace. The rooms are always clean, early check in is almost always available, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The location is incredibly convenient to subway, Wall St., the Seaport, and One World Trade, On our most recent stay, the valet did not move the car quickly enough and we received a ticket. The staff comped our parking, room, and gave us reward points. Great service!
The lobby is small and the rooms are small, but hey its New York. For the amount we paid Im happy with what we got. If you get a room with two beds dont expect to be able to move around too much. Theres a small desk with an office chair but no comfortable chair to relax in. What you can expect is a nice cozy and very clean room close to all the NYC attractions at an affordable price. The staff was really quick and really helpful when we were asking directions. Id definitely recommend this place to visitors on a budget.
Good location for downtown, close to subway and with decent range of local shops. Reasonable room by NYC standards, which was quiet even tho close to elevators and with excellent air con and good storage space for a week long stay. Staff were excellent on all levels, and very pleasant to interact with. Its not a big 5* mid town style place, but does not charge the prices youd pay at that sort of hotel. Would stay here again without hesitation particularly if doing stuff in that part of town.
I was in town for a wedding and this small but well run Holiday Inn was perfect for my needs. It was blocks from the lovely Brooklyn Bridge and the South Seaport area - which was really cool. It was also only a few blocks from the somber 9/11 memorial. Several nice Irish pubs in the area, like the Irish American Pub on John Street, and good places to eat--like three pizza joints within two blocks! Although my room was small, this Holiday Inns staff provides the courtesy and professionalism like you were staying at the Ritz! The front desk personnel were great! Especially Genesis, who was smart, efficient and very friendly. Her cohort, Juniece was great as well. My bed was super comfortable, bathroom clean and location all made this trip great. In sum--another great trip! Clearly the management here really cares. Well Done!
The location is great and very convenient. Rooms are very compact but very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. This is a solid 3 star hotel in the true sense of the meaning. I didnt try the restaurant. If the rates are good and that is important, stay here. BTW, I stayed on the top floor and it was very quiet.
It was a very pleasant experience for me! I have stayed in this hotel many times and I have never been disappointed. Staff is helpful and very courteous. They remembered me as soon as I walked in to the hotel. The furniture was up to date and new and the room was ready as soon as I checked in! Great Job! :) I do recommend this hotel if you are in the city and need a fantastic place to stay!
I’ve always used holiday inn in several locations whenever i visit nyc, and i visit often. However this time around , during the covid epidemic, my experience was not very pleasant. I understand due to the epidemic the hotels were very short staffed, however, the rooms weren’t entirely clean. My initial rooms was so unclean that i asked to be moved, which the concierge o lives me and even gave me a discount.. (that’s great customer service) the second room, there was dirty linens in front of our rooms which s remained there till the next day. The linens weren’t clean but the concierge was able to bring me new ones which i just laid over the dirty ones. I asked for more towels and one of the towels i received was also dirty with particles of food or something stuck to them. The tub wasn’t as clean as it’s usually be so i had to go out and purchase Clorox spray to clean it.
What a great surprise! I wasnt sure what to expect going to NYC financial district for business but it was really fun and fantastic. The hotel was situated at the perfect location. I felt safe and cozy inside. Had a roommate and we both really loved the stay. The best part is that it was very quiet and the beds were super comfortable, so getting a great nights sleep topped off the whole experience. The shower was perfect and drained like it should. I love that! Comfy toilets and the perfect amount of space in a room for 2. The area itself is so cool. The staff was really helpful and knowledgable in any given situation, plus they were a lot of fun. Thanks so much. Coming back next year and will be rebooking my stay. Also, really had a great price considering everything else in the area. Totally worth it.
I stayed in NYC for an evening because I came to see a broadway show. The hotel is very accessible from the subway station at Fulton St. making it very easy to get around the city. Upon arrival, we recieved a warm greeting from Francisco who provided excellent customer service. He printed out a list of restaurants for us and went through each individual restuarant which was super helpful. My room was in pristine condition. The bed was comfortable and new, carpet was clean, and the bathroom was spotless. I had booked a room with a balcony, and it was nice however it had not been shoveled from snow, so I could not really go outside on it which was a bit of a disappointment. The biggest downside of my stay was the room service for breakfast. I wanted breakfast when I woke up and decided to order off the menu within the binder in the room. The menu was for Holiday Inn breakfast. I called the number at the top of the menu. The person on the other line told me that they did not deliver breakfast to my Holiday Inn which was confusing to me as the menu was for the Holiday Inn. I then called down to room service directly to where I began to place my order off the menu and the worker said that the menu I was ordering from was not the kitchen menu. I then asked for where I could obtain a room service menu, and he then just began listing a bunch of items. In the end, I ended up going to a local diner because I was very frustrated with the whole situation.Besides the snafu with room service, the stay was very enjoyable, and I would recommend this hotel to others wanting to stay in the city at an affordable cost. Just do not waste your time trying to order breakfast from the menu in the room.
I stayed here last week during my business street. The hotel is located very close to the financial district, which made me easy to commute to the office. The room was nice and decent even though it wasnt so big. My room also had a veranda, which was nice. The bathroom was also good and had a bathtub (this is really a plus point for you who like to take a bath in a bathtub). On top of all, the staff were really friendly and helpful. We had a little problem when checking in but they really helped us a lot. Two thumbs up for them!Overall, it was a really nice experience, thanks to the staff friendliness!
Whether you are in New York for business or pleasure this unusual Holiday Inn will have the bare necessities for your needs. After all, you didnt spend this kind of money coming to New York to just sit in a hotel. The hotel is 20 floors with about 6 rooms per floor. The ice and vending are on the second floor. The rooms are a decent size for one or two people. The staff is helpful and friendly. The bathrooms are clean and remarkably spacious for such a small footprint. The rooms lack a mini-fridge and dinning in the immediate area is not the best. I never saw anyone eating in the attached Bull Pen restaurant, but it was a decent place to get a beer for happy hour. The food option in the area are mostly hole-in-the-wall carry out/delivery joints, so just plan your meals somewhere else in the city.
The staff needs to have better hospitality! The ice machine needs to be fixed! The staff that checked us in and out had their mask around their chin or no mask at all.The comforter in the room had a stain on it.I dropped my toothbrush late at night and they didn’t have more to give. There is no breakfast put I didn’t find out till I got there, even though online advertises for it.
We decided to book this hotel because of its great location. It is on a small street aside of Wall street, very close to subway stations, so we were able to access the subway in minutes and visit places we would like to go, which is what I liked the most about this hotel. It is also walk distance to Wall street and the Trinity Church. The price is in general inexpensive, since it is NYC. Our room was on the top floor, however, other building block the sight, so completely no view from the room. The street is kind of dirty from the outside, but the inside is fine. The room has all the necessities of a hotel room. So if your budget is limited, and you are planning to go everywhere by subway, I would recommend this place.
We stayed here for 4 nights at the end of August. I am not used to the look of the streets in New York so the first impression was that the area looked a little scary. However, once we entered the hotel, its kept nice and clean with friendly staff who let us checked in early so we can start exploring the city right away. The hotel is small but our room located on the top floor (20th) was spacious and clean. We were a little disappointed about not having a small refrigerator to keep our drinks cold in humid summer days. Other than that, the bed was comfortable and everything was updated. The hotel is only a short walk to the nearest subway station which is a main hub.
Lobby was very small but the room was a nice size for Manhattan. Check in and out was a breeze. We parked in a lot around the corner which was cheaper and closer then the one they recommended on the internet. We spent the day walking around wall street, 911 memorial and the south street seaport. All which were walking distance from this hotel. If a grand lobby is your thing look else where but if comfort cleanliness and cost is important to you this place was great.
Although the lobby was very small, the overall experience was large. My room was super clean, quiet and modern. The restaurant/bar downstairs was convenient, the breakfast was great, and the bartenders were very pleasant and friendly. All of the staff was pleasant and helpful. I had a great stay and would highly recommend this Holiday Inn for the value and overall cleanliness and service. Unless you looking for most fancy, you wont be disappointed at all.
What a great place to stay while in New York City near the NY Stock Exchange, Trinity Church and the 911 Memorial. Starbucks is next door for the early morning coffee lovers. The hotel looked clean and smelled fresh all the time. When passing by the Front Desk a friendly smile and hello from staff members. Were told the beds were new 3 months ago and we had the best sleep here compared to many other locations. Cant say enough great things about the property. Rooms cozy and full of amenities. Bathrooms well laid out and efficient. Would strongly recommend a stay at this location when in NYC. This will be our hotel for all future visits in NYC!!
At first I wasnt sure what to expect reading some of the reviews but I fully enjoyed my stay. I booked directly through the app which was convenient and gave me the best pricing. I had a room with two double beds and they were so comfortable. Bathroom had perfect lighting for selfies and the shower was great as well. There were a few little nuisances like the bathroom door was super close to the toilet when you opened it and the shower curtain should be a tad longer so it doesnt wet up the floor. To fix that I just angled the shower head a little farther to the wall and put a towel on the floor. Still, I would stay there again in a heartbeat. The hotel is sort of tucked away but it is close to everything which makes it the perfect location without being in the busyness of the city. Its right around the corner from One World Trade Center and 15 minute train ride from Times Square. Great location and staff!!!
Hello, my family of 3 stayed at the Holiday Inn express for 4 nights. Room was quite small, but we were only there to shower and sleep.Great location to hop on and off of subways and taxis.Received a $10 breakfast voucher to be used in the restaurant downstairs for each of us for every morning! Nice surprise as this was not listed on the website at time of booking. The workout room has 5 gallon cold water that you can refill water bottles before venturing out for the day.Excellent staff and excellent waitress (Agnes) at the bullpen.Enjoyed our stay and loved the sights.
We were lucky enough to secure a same day reservation at this hotel when our other pre-booked NY accommodation proved to be unsuitable. Craig in reception gave us a warm welcome and a much-appreciated upgrade. Our room was immaculate, and well equipped. Very comfortable bed.The excellent service given by Denise and Romana at breakfast in the cafe was always a great start to the day.The reception staff responded promptly to all queries and requests. The hotel is centrally located, close to subway, cafes, bars, and Southport. We would certainly stay there again.Highly recommended.
We very much enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was wonderful, the bed and room were comfortable and quiet. The staff was helpful, polite and very cordial. The only inconvenience was that the handle on the small bathroom window was broken so that the window could not be closed completely. We stayed there during December, so it made the bathroom a bit chilly. We opted not to change rooms, and addressed the problem with the front desk staff when we checked out and were assured that the window would be repaired.
The Hotel is directly across the streef from the federal reserve. If you working in the finacial district this is a pretty convenient hotel to stay at. Its a little small, but thats to be expected in the financial district. This was my first visit so it was a little surprising how small it was. However the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, but the furniture was starting to show its age a little. The frame of the bathroom mirror was broken and some of the wall paper in the room was starting to show some age. The restaurant attached to the hotel wasnt bad for breakfast, but the pancakes where a little dense. Maybe Im just fussy, but fluffy they were not. However the price was pretty good compared to other restaruants in the area, and again.... the staff was very nice. That means a lot. Poor service makes everything worse.
Staff were nice but seemed to be unaware of the area and could only suggest one location to visit, which is unfortunate for the area as there is so much to do and see in the area. Also a great variety of food options for every budget. The hotel is very dated and not at all what I would expect from a Holiday Inn, in comparison to the ones I have previously stayed.Might be good for a quick stay as you are likely going to take in the area more than staying in the hotel. Bathroom was dull and didnt appear clean Towels has a lot of lint.A taxi was offered upon departure but what you are not told is that its a car service which is a great deal more expensive than a taxi and cash only. Our ride was surprisingly fast, 15 minutes at a fee of $55!!
I had a great experience at the hotel. Although the room was small, as expected in New York, the staff were friendly, and the room was very clean. The bed was especially comfortable. I also loved the location of the hotel. It has easy access to the subway and other hotels and bars. I would definitely stay here again.
Despite a very late arrival due to poor weather and airport closings (1 am), we received a warm greeting and a warm hotel room. The room was comfortable if NYC-small but very functional. There was an adequate number of electrical outlets and the WiFi and wired Internet connections both were pretty good. The hotel was conveniently located with regard to where my colleague and we needed to be. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. We never met any of the housekeeping staff but our room was spotless. We will certainly return to this property when next we need to visit our NYC data center.
This hotel is right in the heart of the Financial District. Our room was a normal room and indeed small by other location standards (read: those that arent in a big city), but as other reviewers have noted, it IS New York, so the rooms are going to be on the small(er) side. But it was clean with an updated feel and comfortable bed, and the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Hotel is near the subway and also near several small eateries within walking distance. You would think, given the area, the hotel would be noisy, but we found our room to be pretty quiet and we were able to easily sleep without distraction. We enjoyed our visit and would absolutely recommend this hotel to those that arent looking for a deluxe hotel, those that just need a comfy place to sleep and get ready for the day. After all, youre not visiting New York to stay in your hotel all day, right?
The hotel front desk staff was wonderful. They give you a warm and inviting smile as soon as you walk in and do what they can to ensure you have a pleasant and worthwhile stay. The rooms are small (as to be expected in NYC), but clean and comfortable. The bedding especially was so cozy and I absolutely loved the IHG pillows that were in abundance. I would definitely recommend to stay here if you are looking for a lower cost option in the financial district.
While the room was clean, the staff friendly and the bed comfortable those are the only favorable things I can say. The room was incredibly small and dated and a little run down. There is no closet or dresser so storage for your personal items is a definite challenge. The bathroom was serviceable and that is about it. It was noisy and hard to sleep and security is lacking. You could walk through the restaurant on to the guest elevators and go to any floor you wanted without having id or a badge or anyone to question who you are.
Stayed for one night on business, and enjoyed my stay. Room was small but clean and appreciated the free Wifi. My only criticism is that I booked the room online and paid in advance for the guaranteed best rate only to discover that the price was lower online a few weeks later. When I called customer service, I talked to four separate people including the hotel staff but no one was able or willing to adjust my rate to match the current lower cost. I was not happy about that. Otherwise, all was great. Walk to 9-11 Memorial, dinner at Les Halles a few blocks away were outstanding.
I stayed here on business and was glad when the week was over and I could leave. The staff were friendly enough, but there is only so much that they could do to overcome the quality of the actual hotel. The bad impression starts right when you enter into the lobby, which is more of a wide spot in the hallway. The rooms were small and when there were two of us in the room with our suitcases it felt claustrophobic. Everything about the room furnishings was okay but certainly not above and beyond anyones expectations. The bed was firm and comfortable, which is good for getting a good night of sleep. The bathroom was small and looked clean but there was a shower curtain that smelled horribly and should have been replaced long ago. The wifi speed was okay.Overall, I wouldnt necessarily recommend this hotel and would certainly recommend against it if there will be two people in the room. However, Ive stayed at other hotels in this same area and they are hit or miss on quality, so it seems there just arent great options in the area.
The front desk staff at this property is wonderful. They were all uniformly friendly, welcoming and helpful. Stored our bags before check-in the first day and after check-out the next. The rooms are tiny, as are most NYC rooms, but clean and nicely decorated. The only thing missing was fresh coffee in the lobby but there is a coffee shop right next door.
This hotel was perfect for our trip. The front desk was always very helpful. The location for Financial District & 9/11 museum is excellent.Housekeeping kept the room very clean. The only very small negative: Rooms are kind of small.Other than that, this place is fantastic.
The room was a nice size not huge but not tiny. The ac worked great the shower was awesome the bathroom was tiny but functional. Nice decore TV was nice sized for the room not overpowering the space. Would of liked an armore with a couple of drawers and a place to hang things but it worked for us. Its great for the financial district and the 9-11 memorial site they were within walking distance of hotel. Cab ride one way with tip to times square was$ 25.00 So maybe if you like the hustle n bustle of NYC pay a little more to stay up there and save on the cab rides.
Despite some trouble with the room heater, my overall stay was extremely pleasant. In the middle of the hectic schedule I was part of, the bed and food was a solace I took much pleasure and comfort in. The front desk staff and the people in the kitchen/eating hall were extremely helpful and nice. Id like to make a special mention to the main(?) waiter/server there who was especially courteous and friendly and gave solid service and recommendations.
Stayed at this Holiday Inn in March 2016. The hotel looks very small from the outside, but the stay here was fine. The rooms are typical New York style-small. Yet it works. The bathroom was spacious enough. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. It was Spring Break week, yet the rate was reasonable. I like the location. Its in the Financial District, yet there are very good restaurants in the area, easy access to Subways and good Pubs.I would look to staying here again in my next visit.
Not a bad place to stay. Clean, quite and comfortable. Not enough towels or wash cloths available. They would only leave one wash cloth and 3 towels for a room with 4 people staying in it. I had to call down every night for more and was told one night that they could bring up what was available but did not have as many as I requested. Eat uptown if you stay over a weekend most restaurants close on the weekends. I did not like having to pass all of the dirty laundry and cleaning supplies just to get to the ice machine. The staff is friendly and the area seemed safe with lots of access to transportation.
I went to New York on a bus trip from Saturday-monday with my boyfriend. We arrived there before check-in at about 10:30am. Our room wasnt ready yet, but they let us keep our bags there so we didnt have to carry them around the city. We returned around 1 (check-in was at 3) and our room was ready, so that was perfect. The room was small, but it was perfect as we didnt plan on spending too much time there. They changed our towels out for us while we were gone. On the day of check out, our bus wasnt until 2:45. Check out was at 11. They let us keep our bags in the lobby after we checked out. I have no complaints about the stay. The lobby staff were very nice and professional.
I stayed in this hotel with my children on a trip to New York. I chose this hotel as it was the cheapest I could find in the location I wanted within Manhattan. The location is great - we explored all over Manhattan, mostly on foot, though it is convenient for the subway too. The area is clean and safe. The hotel itself and the rooms are very compact, but they are clean, comfortable, well equipped and well maintained. The staff are friendly and helpful. They were happy to hold our bags for us between check out and departure and seem keen and happy to help.Overall I was pleased with the hotel and our stay.
Staff is friendly and courteous, Managment works hard to resolve any issues you may have. First stay was a little bit of a challenge but having stayed here off an on for 4 months everything runs very smooth with my consecutive stays. Laundry device had been late a few times and not very happy with hotel provided car service but these are minor annoyances.
There is easy access to subways and taxis which is important in NYC. We felt safe walking around the area. The hotel was extremely clean. The lobby is very tiny. It would have been nice to have a larger lobby with comfortable chairs where you could sit and relax and not have to stay in the room when you didnt go out. There was a bar/eating area so you can go down there and relax too. Every single person who works there smiled and always so helpful.Overall, an exceptional experience.
Overall, I was had a magnificent stay while on business and leisure in New York. The staffs attend to all my needs and offered professional service. Internet service was excellent, the room was immaculate and meticulously maintain. If I had any criticisms, it would be there was no free breakfast, which has been offer at other Holiday Inn Express prior. Furthermore, the Hotel was comfortable, a great place to stay, close to public transportation, and had a good variety of restaurant to eat close by. I will definitely come back again.
By far one the worst hotels I ever stayed in.For an additional $90 dollars you can stay at a cleaner place in the same vicinity .The room has a smell that lingers with you when out and about. Hallways stunk. The towels seemed like they were clean but had a horrible smell to them. The sheets were never changed for the 3 days I stayed there.I don’t recommend this place.I marked the sheets underneath and found out that they never changed them.I went one street over paid $90 more per room and found a clean hotel.Do yourself a favor and don’t stay at this place if you like clean and fresh smelling room, bed, and towels. Place really stinks badlyIf this place is offered to me for free in the future I will not stay due to the horrible smell this place has. Clean your sheets and towels so they smell refreshing
Hotel is in great location, staff was great. Room was clean but they are small, only 8 rooms per floor. It was very quiet the days we were there, parking and valet was a breeze.Would definatly stay here again, close to all attractions and subway isnt even a block away.
Having booked this hotel for the convenient location (it’s close to several places we wanted to visit) - the experience was unlike any other Holiday Inn we have stayed in. Whilst we expect Manhattan hotels to have smaller than average rooms, we didn’t expect to find rooms (yes, multiple rooms) that had broken TVs, threadbare towels, lamps that don’t work, sinks with no plug (stopper?!)... We were moved twice, the third room was a little better - at least the TV worked. The hotel’s own policy is to refund any days that were not to the expected standard. We didn’t receive this refund, despite asking at check-out (our request appeared to be completely ignored!) The staff were pleasant enough, but the facilities for a Holiday Inn are sub-standard. No obvious place for breakfast, no common areas, other than a small armchair in the tiny reception.
I stayed a few nights earlier this week at the Holiday Inn Wall Street and had a great experience. The staff could not possibly have been more helpful and personable. I was in NYC with a group of 35-40 people, and everyone on staff went above and beyond for every single one of us.Although its not a luxury hotel, the rooms are well-updated and everything works fine (except the WiFi, in my case). The temperature of the room was easy to control and I was never cold or hot. The bathroom was impeccably clean and the fixtures and tiling looked new.I needed a handicapped-accessible room and ostensibly received one, but the way the room was configured architecturally made movement cumbersome. Nobody in a wheelchair could have negotiated the angles and the tight placement of furniture. I sincerely hope they do have wheelchair-friendly rooms, so if you do need one, ask specifically about that when you book and perhaps ask to see the room before accepting a room assignment. The staff will surely accommodate you.The mattress could have been more comfortable, but I understand they are updating the beds incrementally. I did love the little touch of embroidery on the pillowcases to indicate the firmness of each pillow. Very nice. The location in the Wall Street area of NYC is perfect. Theres a subway stop literally a couple hundred yards from the front door, there are shops and restaurants all over the place, the WTC site is four or five blocks away (it was great to be able to see the reconstruction taking place).I wasnt able to connect to the hotels WiFi at any point during my stay. I spent more than an hour on the phone with the Help Desk, but for whatever reason, my room didnt have a connection to the network. The staff really tried to help and even offered me a different room!I cant say enough about the staff. From the cleaning personnel to those at the front desk to the hotel bar/grill folks, everyone was so helpful. It was clear that they wanted the best possible experience for our entire group and other guests I met.
My taxi driver found it hard to locate this hotel - taking me first to the Holiday Inn Express on Wall Street, but when I arrived the check in staff were very friendly and efficient. My room was spotlessly clean, and although only on the 4th floor it was pretty quiet for the location. The room was compact. Not much spare room. The bathroom only had a shower cubicle and not a bath but I actually preferred that. There was no food provision in the hotel as the restaurant was being refitted but it isnt really needed - there is plenty of choice just outside. The only major problem was the wifi was flaky. Although it did work some of the time, there were other times when it simply didnt connect, even when I was using the ethernet cable. That aside it was hard to fault for the location and price.
The location is great for the financial district and Universities. Cleanliness is not what youd expect at Holiday Inn. An old pair of socks was left in the blow dryer bag. TV remote was disgusting! Hotel is not easy to find if driving yourself. A lot of construction and there is no valet parking service. You need to find your own, and I suggest using an App that finds you a garage to guarantee you a parking spot and flat rate. Somewhat small rooms but to be expected in New York. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. Lots of restaurants and shopping within walking distance.
We stayed at this property for 4 nights for a business conference. Our stay started off on a positive note when we found that our conference venue was just steps away in One Chase Plaza. Check-in was smooth and easy. Our 17th floor room (1703) was quiet and comfortable. The included breakfast was consistently good and the service was friendly and efficient. The room was small (very cozy), but functional. The location is convenient to the Fulton Street Subway Center, as well as all the lower Manhattan tourist attractions. We had business meetings at Fordham Universitys Lincoln Center and at the UN Headquarters, both of which were easily arrived at via the Subway.
Hotel was about 2 blocks from 9/11 Memorial and Subway. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. We were on the 17th floor in a king bed room and the room was the size of a small bedroom but comfortable for 1-2 people. Bed was super comfy. Street was quiet. We parked in a parking garage about an 8 minute walk away and cost $90 for 24 hr stay for a suburban. Would definitely stay here again.
I came here to attend a seminar, which was conveniently held across the street. The locaiton is great, there is a subway stop just 2 blocks away, and there are many restaurants in the surrounding area. But the hotel leaves much to be desired in terms of comfort and aesthetics. It seemed like a very old hotel in bad need of a renovation. the rooms were tiny, the bathrooms even tinier. I also felt the carpet needed a good shampoo. But maybe it was just the color of the carpet, since I didnt have any allergic reactions to it. Over-all, Id stay here again if the venue for another seminar was nearby. But if I had a better option, this would not be the property of choice. Plus, it was a bit expensive for the state of the hotel. Ive stayed in better appointed Holiday Inn Express properties.
I enjoyed my room very much! I requested a room with a balcony and it was better than I imagined. The balcony was bigger than the actual room! The payment process wasn’t explained properly to me and still remained unclear after I had to authorize payment for an additional night for preauthorization. There were two outlets that were not working out of 6. Of course the ones right by the bed. It made charging phones and laptop inconvenient.
I stayed at the Holiday Inn on Nassau St. for the 5-Boro Bike Ride in 2013. I found the room quite comfortable and clean. My particular room was very spacious by Manhattan standards but I think I was upgraded for some reason. The staff were extremely polite and helpful. I cant say enough good things about them. From the moment I put in the reservation to the moment I checked out, they concerned themselves with nothing but my comfort and enjoyment. Excellent customer service. The price is on par with other New York hotels meaning not cheap but definitely not high end price either. Still, the price is a good one considering the location which, despite being in the financial district, is still buzzing on weekends. Easy access to subways is a big plus, just make sure to do your homework on weekend subway service changes. Thats par for the course in NYC.The one thing I would warn about is having a car. While the hotel does have a deal for reasonably priced (by NYC standards) parking a few blocks away, pulling up to the hotel and loading/unloading is not easy. There is one parking space in front of the hotel that is a loading zone however, when I was there, it was always occupied, in some cases by police vehicles that just couldnt find anywhere else to park I suppose. If you do have a car, its helpful to have someone who can stay with it while the other transfers luggage. Nassau St. is narrow and theres no room to double park.Overall, this was a really good hotel and I will likely stay there again for next years 5-Boro.
Positive:Within walking distance to attractions, relatively quiet (stayed over weekend), very clean, comfortable king bed and pillows, updated room, black out shades, staff friendly and helpful, wifi was very efficient. A nice room to come to after a long day of traveling and walking around Manhattan. Complementary cooked to order breakfast was delicious (sausage/spinach croissant and salmon omelette).Negative:Room was very small and hallways were narrow
The service at this hotel was awesome. I had an issue with my first room and the staff was on it right away and made me feel as if my stay and room were important to them. The place is a little small, so the hallways and everything are smaller, but the rooms are decent size. I originally chose this room because of the convenience to my training and it worked out fine for everything else as well. When I first arrived, I was a little skeptical of the place as the area didnt seem to be the greatest but after I saw it in the daytime I felt more comfortable and ended up walking all over the city!
I stayed in this hotel while visiting NY for work. My room was a good size, well decorated and clean. Breakfast is served in a cafe downstairs which was ok and the food and staff were good. The only problem I had was when I asked the hotel reception to book me a taxi and the taxi was late, expensive and a bit dodgy. It was all banged up, a very old car, and was dirty. Not sure why they would recommend that company.
This hotel was quite convenient to the Fulton Street Subway Station. I was very surprised how small the hotel was and the hallway outside my room was quite cold. Im not sure if that had to do with the 19th floor or not. The room was also small but cozy-it was easy to use the desk, watch television, etc. The outlet though there should not be accessible-I had plugged something in and was unable to take it out. The room was clean and served its purpose. The staff were all courteous, and compliments to the houseman (I apologize for missing his name) who shared the elevator with me, and to the wonderful woman who greeted me at check-in and arranged a wakeup call. The bed and room though were comfortable, although there was a bit of noise outside. All in all, it was a good stay, and Id hope to return.
This Holiday Inn is newer and the facilities are good. The service was excellent, from the front desk to housekeeping. We had read poor reviews on the restaurant, and to be honest, with so many great options right outside the door, we didnt try it. We did stop in for a drink one evening and the service was very good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to NYC. While its down in the financial district, Fulton St station is one block away and you can get anywhere!
We were really impressed with the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. The room was small, but it was clean, comfortable, quiet and had everything we needed...so no complaints! The resturant could improve its quality of food. We ate burgers for dinner one of the nights and they werent worth the price- probably on the bottom of my list for meals eaten in NYC taste-wise as well.
Nice king executive room upgrade with decent space for a NYC hotel. The front desk staff is great. Only issue we had was with housekeeping. After two days, room still not changed. I mentioned this to the front desk on our way out the next day and on our return, the room was made up. Again, great front desk staff.
My card was charged for three charges they cannot (or will not) account for amounting to over $60. Two of the charges posted a week after I checked out of the hotel and werent on my bill. I dont even know what the charges are for. Ive contacted the hotel directly at least six times over the past month to get an answer and the manager of the hotel didnt call me back. I finally took the issue to IHG and only then did I receive a call from the manager of the hotel who said hes still looking into it because its a complex issue. Its been a month. Still no refund. By the way, they discontinued the valet parking services but no notification was given to anyone who booked during that transition period. Fun times to find parking in NYC and carry my luggage three blocks to the hotel in sleet. Go stay at the nearby Hotel Indigo instead. They have a parking garage next door and are actually competent.
Stayed here for business - good location although a little hard to find. Restaurant Elio Pasta was good and nice to have on the property. Gosia was extremely friendly and went out of her way to arrange breakfast to go. Holiday Inn staff - Calvin (forgive spelling?) at the front desk was super helpful when I was checking out. Had receipt ready and walked with me to help with a cab - I was running so late. Thank you so much! Overall good experience for business.
I chose this hotel for a weekend stay with my husband and two teenage daughters. We loved the location - we could easily walk to the 911 memorial, Battery Park and the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island ferries, and Wall Street. There were also subway stations nearby which took us uptown to Times Square, Empire State, Central Park, etc. The room was small but cozy, and since we were there to see the city we really only used it to sleep! The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Overall we had a great experience, and would stay here again.
NYC is very expensive and this hotel was clean, quiet and located near the Memorial and the Seaport. The room was small and dark given the building out our window but it was clean and comfortable. We were in for a weekend to walk around and enjoy the sites which we did easily. We were not in the room too much but were able to watch the baseball play off game, use wifi and shower. All worked out well and given the prices of other hotels, this was wonderful. Staff was friendly and efficient. Elevators were utilized by them much of the time for laundry but not too much of an issue. Right down the road from Starbucks and easy walk to Broadway.
Room was very nice and quiet with good beds.Bathroom not spotless but good enoughLocation perfect. Walking distance to a lot of sights in the most southern area of the city and right next to the subway station Fulton Street. Nicest subway station in New York btw.No 5 bus a block away and takes you right up to times Square and Central Park. The reception is tiny, but the people working there are terrific. My membership was also recognized, which was nice.Breakfast ok
Our stay was a good one since we were able to see and do many things we wanted to do while in New York. The rooms and hotel in general were very tight, with little room to spare. The surrounding repair work still going on was a bit disruptive, but we still were able to get around fairly well. The staff was very helpful and they were professionals. I really appreciated the dining staff.
The hotel was conveniently located. It was very clean and my room was surprisingly spacious. The staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful. The staff was top rated and amongst the best I have encountered. Something else I really like about this location is the wired internet connection. It works well with my companies security protocols.
Stayed at this Hotel for a week vacation in New York City. The room size is small, but what you would expect in the City. The staff was outstanding. From check-in to check-out everyone was helpful and courteous. The location was very good. Easy subway access and many places to eat and drink close by. The room was clean and updated. Being spring week, the price was right.I would look to this hotel again in my next visit.
This little Holiday Inn is a great bang for your buck! In close proximity to so much , and just outside the main tourist trap Hotel area, its just perfect for someone on a budget, without sacrificing quality and comfort. Across the street from the Federal Reserve theres so much history so close. A main subway terminal only two blocks from the hotel will get you anywhere in NYC. Newly renovated, the rooms are great (clean and really comfortable). Staff is friendly and really helpful. Anytime Im in the Financial District this is one of my favorite choices with their great prices!
Room was nice but had a funky smell. The staff was very pleasant and helpful, but the driver who gave me a ride to the airport (arranges by the hotel) was rude and announced when I arrived that I had to pay with cash. I didn’t have cash (who does these days) and he accepted my credit card. I tipped him but didn’t really want to reward him for the unfriendly attitude.
This hotel was fantastic. It is in a great location less than two blocks from a major subway station. The hotel is very clean, including the rooms. Smaller room, but to be expected in NYC. The beds are extremely comfortable and the bathroom is great. Since it is downtown, there is not much noise at night. Within a short walk of many downtown attractions and close to lots of cafes and other food venues.
I recently booked my stay at this location for meetings that were being held in the area and was GRATEFUL that I did! I was greeted with the most friendly and courteous desk attendant EVER (and I travel frequently!) JOHN not only took great care to ensure that I was in a quiet and comfortable room, but went out of his way to make me feel like I was the only guest in the hotel. Calvin was also very friendly, kind and helpful! I am DEFINITELY recommending and will be staying at this location again during my next visit to NYC!
I stayed 1 week over the height of the summer and loved every minute. The workers were extremely friendly and accommodating, not one issue arose. The rooms and small but thats New York. Im not sure if two travellers with massive luggage bags would feel there was enough room, but for me... perfect! The bed is big and comfortable, the room and bathroom clean! Although, the location isnt in the heart of Manhattan the subway is close. It is a short walk from great shopping like Century 21 (branded discount store) and Sephora. Best part is that it is a short stroll down to Battery park to see the statue of Liberty on your morning walks! Not one bad thing to say.. I did read other reviews and chose one of the higher rooms in regard to traffic noise and i didnt hear a thing. Would recommend a traveller stay here for a clean and restful visit to NYC! Wifi always takes stress off a overseas traveller which was fast and FREE. Thank you for your hospitality Wall st Holiday INN
This hotel was perfect for my daughter and I on a recent trip to Pace University. I was pleased to find that my request for a quiet room away from the street on a high floor had been met! Room was very quiet, which is usually a problem in NY. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. Hotel was clean, and the elevators were fast. It was a great value and I will definitely return!
I want to preface this review by saying that everyone I encountered at the hotel was incredibly friendly and incredibly helpful. The staff gets 5 stars. That being said, though the room was very clean, everything seemed really jenky. For example the deadbolt on our door didnt work correctly, the locks on the Windows didnt work, the wi-fi kept going out, the toilet backed-up and overflowed, filling the bathroom with a quarter inch of water. There were switches on the walls that didnt seem to do anything, one of the bathroom lights didnt seem to work right and would flicker on and off between very bright and very dim. The thermostat on the wall didnt seem to be connected to the heater air conditioner, our keys stopped working, the cable went out, the shower would fluctuate between super hot and super cold, the heater seemed to be on the edge of simply breaking down, even the emergency evacuation sign was falling off the door.If you found a good rate and needed a very cheap place to stay in the financial district maybe give this place a try, but otherwise if you can afford anything else I would go for that.
Staff is excellent and a pleasure to interact with. We felt very safe from the start. The valet parking is dependable but a little pricy for us Southerners. Overall when i go back i will stay here. Very convenient to all high tourist attractions. Hats off to NYC LM. Top 3 of my vacation list.
I stayed for 4 nights in the Holiday Inn at Wallstreet, and for a Hotel in the heart of Manhattan, the room was really quiet with close to non traffic noise audible from my room. I was on ninth floor, so maybe that was a reason too. An important thing in a hotel for me are the beds, and in this case they were exceptionally comfortable. I was much better able to sleep than I usually am in an unfamiliar bed. Everything was also noticably clean, so no complaints there. It is expensive, though, but that just goes with the very central location at the south end of Manhattan. I would probably choose it again, considering the comfortable accommodation and the friendly service.
I arrived at the hotel at around 11:15 PM in a rental car. I learned when I checked in that the hotel does not have a parking lot. They had contracted with a parking lot that is about two blocks away and difficult to get to due to a number of one-way streets. They did not offer a parking valet. The weather was miserable and I did not feel safe walking back to the hotel at that late hour. (The Holiday Inn website does not tell you this and understated the cost of parking.) The evening front desk staff were not friendly nor were they helpful or considerate. The only bright spot in this issue was the hotel manager and morning desk staff who were attentive to my needs. (They both apologized for the experience and did attempt to make amends.)The hotel lobby is almost non-existent; it was not roomy or comfortable. The hotel room was small. The room was clean and the TV and Internet were fine.
This was our first stay on Nassau Street and we enjoyed it very much. The lobby is small, but the staff provided excellence service. One drawback was my request at check-in on Sunday for late check-out on Wednesday morning. The Sunday staffer was agreeable, but the Tuesday staff had no record of the request so I am glad that I confirmed it. The late check-out is key to our travel schedule and eased any stress for us.I was a little confused at directions toward Broadway or Water St. at first, but got acclimated pretty quickly. The nearby eateries are excellent and there is always people around even in the evening. We were given a corner room on 19th room, which was quiet and comfortable. Will stay here again.
Overall was a great stay, the staff was all friendly and the hotel is clean and up to date. However we did feel a bit mislead by the pictures and room description on the internet. We had four people and our room was so small!! Also our room had no microwave or refrigerator, I dont remember if it said there was or not, but either way the room we were in was tiny!! Also during our stay there was only one elevator in the whole hotel that worked!! The elevator was super crowded our whole stay, luckily we were there for leisure and not business so waiting in line for the elevator didnt matter to much for us but still inconvenient! When we asked the front desk the staff kindly apologized and told us someone would be out Tuesday to repair the other elevators, but we left Sunday so didnt help us! Overall though a nice hotel with nice friendly staff. I think this is more geared toward the business traveler and no the person on vacation.
The people make a place, and here I have found the best people, trying to provide the best service, and making you feel at home. This is a busy place but everyone maintains a positive attitude and goes out of their way to make you happy! Front desk staff are amazing, and food is really good. Bartenders are very friendly and make everyone feel welcome, like you are at your hometown pub. Chefs are always out and about making sure people are happy and have gone out of there way a couple times to make me something I liked.Never had a bad experience with anyone here, from housekeeping to management, a well run hotel. For a business traveler like myself, I like the proximity to the financial district and the excellent internet service.
Small property but rooms clean and comfortable. Hotel close to numerous restaurants walking distance. Walking distance from brooklyn bridge, wall street and a tjmaxx in case you forgot to pack something. Loved the location, not a lot of noise given NYC busy streets and will definitely stay here again.
Stayed a night in NYC visiting our daughter. Wanted to see the WTC memorial so booked the HI Wall Street just a block over. We had a great stay. Comfortable beds, clean room, shower with respectable water pressure! and friendly hotel staff. Plenty of bars and restaurants within walking. Self parking ($40 after hotel validation, which is not bad for NYC) a block away. Room wasnt large but that is pretty normal in NYC. And did have the basic necessities like TV, internet, coffee, and shampoo. Hotel does have a restaurant, and gym but we didnt use so cant comment. Price of hotel was very very competitive (about half compared to similar hotels around times square and ~25% less than similar hotels around WTC). Overall I would say this is a great hotel for the price and location
This was a mixed bag of sorts - still not sure how to place it properly. Maybe due to the extreme summer heat things didnt go as smoothly as they should.Front desk staff seemed to be over their heads, the simplest things took long and caused confusion amongst them. Paired with them also having to man the customer service phone, general phone, and all sorts of things, our experience both when checking in, checking out, and during the day were slightly chaotic. They remained friendly, but I did hope for a larger level of professionalism.Hotel is in a good area, easy to reach and solid location. It does show quite some wear and is in my opinion not up to scratch when it comes to the general HI standards, but I did have a good sleep and appreciated the very good roomservice and TV. (soundproofing of windows is, as is with most middle class NYC hotels, terrible though)Breakfast was ok, personally I probably would never visit the Diner by itself, but for a rate with breakfast it serves it purpose. Staff here also seemed more confused about what they are doing, but one admitted to it being her first breakfast service, so I wont hold it against her. The public restroom in the lobby/restaurant smells revolting and is hidden deep in the cellar. So all in all, I probably would not stay here again (especially at the high price tag they ask), but it is a fine place for basic visitors needing a good place to sleep without having too high expectations.
If you are looking for a location out of the way from the hustle and bustle of busier areas, this is a great hotel for you. Located within walking distance of the South Street Seaport, Wall Street, World Trade Center, 9/11 Memorial, and Brookfield Place with numerous shops and restaurants to visit there. Also located near subways to head uptown. Comfortable beds and pillows, great service. Great night’s sleep. Very reasonably priced for a NYC hotel.
The staff service and training here is equal to many elite properties I have stayed with anywhere. They are awesome! The food in the new restaurant is very good too. Everyone in the hotel goes out of their way to immediately address any issues or needs.Great value, great people, feels like home for me when I am there for long periods.
Heres what I want in a city hotel: Comfortable beds. Quiet room. Decent prices. Good water pressure. Helpful staff. Clean. Solid wifi connection. Great location. Had all of it here, plus walking distance to Wall Street and the Fulton Street subway stop. One small suggestion: I didnt need the A/C blasting all day (turned it off to save energy, but the housecleaning staff turned it back on). Is it an official NY policy?
Stayed at this hotel for a weekend visit to the city with a friend who had never been before - good value for the location, five minute walk to multiple subway stations, and just a few blocks from some landmarks that are not usually in our itinerary! Area was quiet with lots of restaurant options around. Was easily walkable to and from.
This location is close to subway stops, places of interest, shopping and of course wonderful restaurants. While there were some issues with my check-in since I had multiple reservations, the hotel staff was able to honor my request to not have to change rooms during my stay. I really appreciated their efforts to ensure I could keep the same room.
We were upgraded to a nice room with a rooftop terrace. Unfortunately it was rainy and cloudy the whole time we were there, and we did not spend much time at the hotel, so we didnt get a chance to enjoy the terrace. We could have done without the air-con perfume strips - very overpowering, so much so we ended up picking them out of the air-con and throwing them away.
I stayed with my mother and my toddler daughter and we had a great a wonderful experience. We appreciate the most to John in the Front Desk, he was always very gentle, helpful and smily. Definitely, we hope to see him if we come back in the near future. By far, he is one of the best, great customer service skills.Breakfast was delicious! We are very thankful with the staff for making us feel at home.
I was just really bummed there was no more valet parking at this property. The restaurant/ bar will not allow you to take your drink glasses back to your room. Other than those 2 things this hotel is a pretty good value for NYC at Christmas time. The location is good for almost all your downtown destinations.
We stayed at holiday inn wall street during the Christmas week. Our room #1601 was very large and spotless. Only negative point was the noisy heater. Very nice staff at the desk. We had breakfast at the attached cafe and we appreciated Romana the waitress who was always helpful and efficient. Food was very nice too. A good place to start the day. I do recommend that hotel.
This is one of my favorite hotels in NYC. Yes the rooms are small but its standard for NYC. Clean, quiet rooms with only 5 rooms on each floor. The staff here is very attentive and they have a very affordable breakfast. The bar is a little pricey but has a decent happy hour.
Very well located near both subway and bus stops with clean comfortably appointed rooms. Mine had a balcony overlooking the street which was pretty cool when it snowed! The small cafe serves decent breakfast at a reasonable price. Probably one of the better value hotels in lower Manhattan.
Have stayed at this hotel multiple times in the past few months. Always last minute overnights. Hotel is comfortable and perfect if you need to do some computer work as well. Close to coffee shops and restaurants as well has Fulton Station. Recently I had been booked into a room that had a bit of a funky smell. Within minutes I had staff member Craig up in my room with new keys for a different room ready to go. Would stay again.
I would recommend this Holiday Inn to anyone. I usually stay in lower midtown, but all was booked up, so I took a chance on Holiday Inn Wall Street, and much to my surprise, the stay was much more comfortable than I anticipated. Staff was extremely friendly, courteous, helpful, the rooms were spacious for Manhattan, location seems far but service from the A Train, the 2 and 3 Trains, are all nearby, all connecting to most all subways terminals. Although this is not a vibrant community, especially on the weekends, it is peaceful, safe, and also parking if you travel by car is very nearby and inexpensive. I rate this Hotel on a personal scale of A+ for a Holiday Inn, even Housekeeping was pleasant and did not bother me at 7 AM like other Hotels, being I had asked for later Housekeeping. I would recommend this Hotel, even for those who are not familiar with NY, just try to get a subway map, and you will see from the A, 2 and 3 Trains, all Subways are accessible by transfers. One side note, Taxis are a bit hard to get out, but easy to get a Cab back to Hotel. I was there on a Holiday Weekend, so perhaps that was why I noticed this, it may be different during business days, and easier to hail a cab. Once again, Excellent Hotel, and the Federal Cafe is Fantastic!
Great location by finance district, near subway, all the restaurants, 9/11 memorial.Great staff, front desk prints out your itinerary and map for you, breakfast staff is awesome! The first room had to be switched because of flea bites. The prior guest must have had a pet with fleas. The second room had no problems. Rooms are cozy but clean!
The sheets on my bed were not clean. I requested clean sheets and the sheets were brought to the room. The replacement sheets felt warm as though it just came out of the dryer, but the sheets were also stained. So the following morning I requested the sheets to be changed again and finally those sheets were clean. I have stayed at many other Holiday Inn location and never experienced this before. I also did not receive any of my preferences for my room type. The other areas of the room appear clean and it was a modern room, but I dont think I would stay there again.
Staff was very helpful. Had some trouble finding the hotel initially because, for one---we had never been to NYC before, and secondly, due to street construction, lots of scaffolding obscured the entry. We managed, but that is why I ranked the entry experience a bit lower. No ones fault, just a matter of construction going on. If I had it to do over, Id try to reserve sooner and get on a lower level floor, haha. Im a country boy at heart, and sleep better on a floor closer to the ground, LOL.
Aside from that many people were able to check in before 3 pm and I had to wait for a little over one hr. My room was ready at 2 pm. I am a local but needed to study for final exams. If the room was less expensive, I would of stay longer, and would do it more often. I enjoy my peaceful stay. The staff are super friendly, including the cleaning ladies.
For the price, this was a good hotel in the Financial District. Within walking distance to everything in that area. The only issue is our room cards kept messing up, so after a long day out, we didnt like having to call for front desk to bring us new cards. Even though they were pretty quick about it. Also, we had the same issue as other reviewers with the water from the shower spilling out onto the bathroom floor. We had to hold the curtain just right or it would make a mess. Issues were tolerable, so Id stay here again!
I loved the location of the hotel. Close to the 9/11 Memorial and museum and many other things in lower Manhattan. Lots of shops and restaurants in the area. The hotel restaurant was closed -under renovation.I do not think they have swimming pool or a gym.. but I did not look. The staff were very caring and friendly. The price is classic high.. NYC prices. The room is small -as those in Midtown Manhattan. The King bed is really Full size bed. Clean bathroom and room! with good overlooking window!
I stayed here recently with my grand-daughter, her first time in NYC. The staff were so helpful, especially Vitaliy and Christopher in reception and Romana and Denise in the Diner, and everyone was so friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean and comfortable. We both loved it, and may well choose to stay here again. I completed the survey form at the hotel and my grand-daughter tells me I wasnt generous enough in my comments, so I have updated them and made everything excellent.
Not a bad hotel, but very small and out-dated rooms. Staff are not enough in numbers, and communication is poor. Lack of detailed professional service. Advise checking in well after 3pm unless you want to wait a long time in the New Yorks smallest hotel lobby. However for the right price it is a very good location for business, not so much for tourism.
The location of this hotel is very good. The rooms are very small and what they call an “upgrade” is simply a standard room in which you can hardly move. The staff tried to be helpful but the lobby is so small that 2 person can hardly stand next to each other in front of the reception. The worst part is breakfast – they have no dining room, just a small restaurant and a poor selection from the menu.I will probably never book again a room at this hotel
We both really enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn in Wall Street. It was close to Fulton St station and lots of great eat places around it. The staff were extra friendly and after our days out sightseeing, we came back to friendly faces and a friendly greeting. We couldnt have got better. Our room was cleaned daily to a high standard.Nothing was a problem, I would definately stay there again. Thanks Holiday Inn and the staff that makes the place like being at home.
I was very disappointed considering the amount of money I paid to stay at this hotel .Upon check-in I was greeted by an employee who seemed to have possibly been on break (I am giving them the benefit of the doubt by saying that) instead of putting their meal down they came out with a chicken wing in their hand . They checked me in and handed me my room key and it had chicken grease and flakes on it. (disgusting) . I requested a higher floor with a better view and was put on the 17th which was nice, but I wish they would have told me it faces a brick building that was under construction so it was pretty much pointless to even be on a higher floor. The room itself was pretty small which is no surprise for NY BUT everything needs to be updated . Most of the outlets didnt work. only one lamp in the room worked. My bed had hair in between the sheets. I kept hearing sounds coming from the HVAC system that was not on so there was a possibility that something could have been in there. I felt itchy all night long but I wasnt sure why. Overall, I was not pleased with my stay. It was conveniently located by our office so that was the only positive. I understand we are paying for location but for the price paid per night these issues should never come up.
Though the hotel is being overshadowed by tall buildings around its area overall our stay is very satisfying. We got a good room and the location is very close to I believe 6 metro lines which runs to all the tourist destinations in NY. Staffs are very friendly and attentive though the complimentary given to us was not passed to the morning staff hence the additional questions(why we were given such things, and will inform the staff that it we are not entitled-such drama that i did not bother to pay attention to as we are on our honeymoon). But then again overall it is very satisfying.
Staff was pleasant. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Good internet service. Comfortable beds. Ice machine wasnt working but staff was aware and it was being worked on. I think they could have made some temporary provisions to provide iceRates seemed comparable when I booked. A few days after I checked out I got emails advertising the same room for 1/3 of what I paid so I was pretty ticked. Also have a separate VISA charge from Holiday Inn for $50. It was not included on my check out invoice. WHen I called to see what it was the person didnt know but would have someone call me back. Been over a week and no one has gotten back to me yet.
Chose this hotel as it suited our needs. On arrival, greeted with a friendly smile and the first words were Thank you for being a Holiday Inns card memberYes, the hotel comes uder the Express brand, and fits in to it well. The rooms are compact, decent size shower room, but one suggestion would be to take the wardrobe out and put some shelving for clothing , shoes etc.Breakfast is served in a small bar at the side of the hotel, so although you have a smaller choice of items, dont expect the fuller range that you may get in an express in the UK , for example. As the hotel is round the corner from the 9/11 memorial, and only a few stops on the subway from the main tourist attractions, its a good place to stay.
This place worked great for us...convenient and good value. Small rooms (but it is NYC) but very clean and nice which is what mattered to us. And the best part is how great the staff was...we needed to stay an extra night and they went out of their way to find us a room on a fully booked weekend. They were also very helpful with maps and all kinds of directions to get around the city. Thank you!
Great beds, very soft. Stylish and functional furniture. Nice size especially for Manhatten. It didnt feel cramped, even in the bathroom. Shower was good water was hot with good pressure. Shower curtain was a little short so there was a little puddle outside the shower every time, but not a huge problem. Air conditioning worked well. Room was quiet, not alot of noise from hallway. Staff was professional and polite.
My Husband and And I went to the Hotel and stay a night because we just got out from the Hospital being there for 5 days. The service was great and I will come again to spend more time with the family. I will recommend it 100 Percent times and the concierge was awesome she helped us a lot. I recommend this Hotel why because they are friendly,. Helpful .
I have stayed at this location several times and I have to say that the front desk staff by far is best that I have experienced. They are always warm and friendly. They are very informative and always willing to help you. Leslie is outstanding so is Stella and Craig. The rooms are always clean, bed comfortable and I have no problems connecting to the internet. The only issue I have is the restaurant. The food is not that good, but there are restaurants not to far if you want to get something to eat in the area. They should consider upgrading the food quality. It would be easier than going outside.Overall experience is good. Good job IHG. You should be proud of the people working at this location.
We came for a vacation, and the main things we wanted to see were the Statue of Liberty and the 9/11 Museum. This hotel was perfect. It was a lot cheaper than going up to Times Square and everything we wanted to see was within walking distance. For those looking for a no-frills place to come back to after a long day of sighseeing, it works perfectly. There is a subway station very close, which was great when we came from our very long day around Central Park and Times Square. Area is quiet and perfect for those not looking for a late night. On the first day, arrived late at night and was worried about finding the parking structure (drove in from out of town)but the lady checking me in was very helpful and provided a map. As anyone would expect in a very dense city, the rooms were small but it never caused a problem. The hotel itself is also quite small, there were only 4 rooms on my floor, but again, it doesnt bother. The staff was friendly and greeted us everytime we walked by.Would come back again.
I imagine everything in NYC to be a little crowded and grubby, but this hotel was reasonably spacious (considering the price and location) and clean. After long days trekking through the city, it was a great reprieve. And the area is chock full of shopping and views of the water, without a ton of tourists to battle with at all hours. Also, this hotel has great train access, and the ride to Brooklyn for a music festival was easy. It also wasn’t hard getting to Harlem, thanks to the express train access.
My sister and I stumbled on the Holiday Inn / Wall Street when googling for a hotel in the Lower Manhattan / World Trade area because we were going to the 9/11 Museum among other things for the weekend. What a great find! As lots of others have written, we didn’t care that the rooms were small, because we weren’t ‘vacationing’ in the room! The room had exactly what we needed: free WiFi, a TV, closet, iron, desk. The bathroom was SPOTLESS (a HUGE plus for us) and it had a tiny window we could open and get fresh air! The sheets were clean too! (I just wish the bedskirt didn’t touch the carpet ). We were on the 13th floor and could see the beacon on top of the Freedom Tower. The subway, pharmacies, and restaurants were literally a stone’s throw from the hotel. We easily walked over to World Trade and Brookside Place (used to be World Financial with the beautiful palm trees) by the Hudson. We will absolutely return. We just wish we had early check-in and that the rate was about 20% less. The hotel was a jewel, and so were the front desk and lobby staff.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn at 51 Nassau Street in the Wall Street area of Manhattan. We were up most of the night before, getting ready to disembark the Queen Mary 2 in Brooklyn. We arrived, exhausted, at the Holiday Inn at 7:00 A.M. We were greeted with a smile by Randall at the front desk. He was professional and exceedingly pleasant. He quickly took our luggage for storage, as we knew we had arrived too early to check in. He offered to call us as soon as a room was ready. He followed through with his offer by calling us before regular check in. His smile, professionalism, and pleasant demeanor made our stay very enjoyable. The hotel lobby is quite small. There are two elevators to the 20 floor hotel. There are only 5 rooms per floor. The elevators worked very efficiently. The restaurant on the first floor had excellent breakfast food. It was expensive if you did not have a free breakfast voucher, but the portions were huge and the food was creative.Being a small hotel, the hallways on each floor are small, but our hotel room was large and bright. The bathroom had been recently remodeled and was bright, clean, and spacious. This is an inexpensive hotel, and is simply decorated. The entry is currently covered in scaffolding. But the hotel staff was more pleasant than the staff of many luxury hotels that I have stayed in. The location is amazing. It is directly across from the Federal Reserve Bank, up the street from Wall Street, 3 blocks from the 911 memorial and One World Trade, and 1/2 block to the subway. There were lots of small restaurants within a 2 block area. If you are looking for a small, inexpensive hotel in the Wall Street area, this Holiday Inn can’t be beat
I enjoyed my stay at this holiday inn. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. One can complaint I do have, however, is that I really have was that there was not an additional roll of toilet paper and the toilet paper that was available was only half full. I also wish that there had been a thicker blanket on the bed because the heater did not really warm the room up.
This is a great location and the staff was great as well! Jueneice (hope I spelled that right) at the front desk was very friendly and helpful at the front desk. The man at the desk late night directed me to a great place for a late night slice of pizza, and the cleaning lady was very friendly and smiley as well. I was out very late and felt very safe. My room was small but clean and pleasant. I was only there to sleep and shower so it was perfect. The price may of been a bit higher than i would like to pay, but your in one of the most expensive pieces or land in the world so. 5 stars would give it more it 6 if I could!
I stayed here while on business with NYSE. Right down the street, easy 5 minute walk from the exchange. Standard Manhattan room size, small but adequate. The staff here was amazing. Both Leslie and Juliana at the front desk were helpful and friendly and went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. I will be staying here on my next visit without a doubt. Just an FYI there are many restaurant choices within an easy walk of this location and many good bars and pubs also.
The staff was great, and the room was neat and clean. Housecleaning did not come one day, but the desk staff brought us new towels for the night. The restaurant staff was great. The prices are reasonable, and it is quiet so you can have a conversation. Thank you to all the staff.
This little hotel is a good value and is well-located to subway lines. You can walk easily to World trade center and Brooklyn Bridge. Rooms are on the small side but very clean and have very comfortable beds. Hated the desk lamps but I am a stickler for good lighting. Desk staff were very friendly and accommodating. Dunkin Donuts next door and Starbucks a few steps after that. Some good pubs in the area as well. Would recommend this hotel. Even though in lower Manhattan, there is easy access to everywhere via handy subway stops.Very handy to city clerks office where we attended a wedding.
Hotel overall was perfect. Considering Manhattan, price was excellent, and room was more than adequate. Clean, and would stay here again.Only complain is that the round toilet seats are too wide of a seat, creating a small hole in middle. Get a thinner seat, and everything else is perfect.
I found great, friendly staff, accommodating in everyway during my stay. The rooms are small, but well laid out and were at expected Holiday Inn standard. Three things really lowered my Atmosphere rating for the hotel:1. Why is the rock music blaring so loud at entry, front desk and dining room? It drove me out of the dining room for lunch to find something quiet elsewhere.2. Why is there garbage piled up right in front of the Hotel for over three days of my four day stay. A real bummer for a positive first impression.3. People should not be allowed to smoke at the entryway of Hotel, but move out a fair distance.Everything else OK - met my expectations.
I chose this hotel because it was in walking distance of a work meeting, and it was moderately-priced with decent reviews. It met my expectations on every level except breakfast which vouchers did not entirely cover, small portions (1 slice of toast?) and pre-cooked potatoes from the freezer. The staff were friendly and attentive. If I visit downtown again, I would consider returning.
For a hotel in Downtown Manhattan it was pretty good. The room was clean, though a bit too small for the 2 double beds that were in the room. It might have been fine with just a single king. I was on a lower floor and at times the street sounds were a bit. There wasnt a view except for of the alley and it is easy to miss the entrance. But the price was good for a room in the area.

2022-05-15Thank you so much to Terrell from Holiday Inn on Wall Street. We had a very difficult night trying to find a hotel and place to rest. It was 2 am and we needed somewhere to rest our heads and checkout in the morning (note to self: always book ahead!) he was extremely accommodating and was able to find a double bedroom for my father and I! So grateful for such and kind a caring soul. Management if you see this, please consider giving Terrell a raise or a promotion! He truly deserves it! -Thank You again Holiday Inn! and we will definitely be returning to this location :)

2022-04-26We booked a two double beds room for our vacation. When we arrived, we were told that the hotel was overbooked and they did not have the room we requested for us. They put us in a king bed room, however we had to wait 30 minutes to be checked into our room. The following day we were moved into our correct room. We spoke with the manager to request a refund for the difference, since a King bed room is cheaper than the room we booked. He said that he would help us when we checked out and to come see him. On the day we checked out, Michael (manager) was extremely rude to us. He said you can put your key in the container and leave. We asked about the refund and he said I already issued it and you will receive a receipt in your email. Four days later, we had no updated receipt and refund. We had to contact customer service multiple times and spoke with an area manager. We were finally issued a refund.

2022-06-21Positive: I liked the location it was close to a subway station. I also liked the king size bed and the staff members I interacted with, especially the two female employees who worked at Reception. Negative: The bathroom counter was very narrow so my head touched the mirror when I washed my face. The shower area was very small and the shower curtain too short so water pooled on the floor after every shower and I had to spend time mopping it up.

2022-01-21Checked in late but the staff working was so helpful and nice. Didn’t catch his name. The room was nice and spacious but no microwave or refrigerator. The major issue we had were the sheets were not changed on the bed. Probably had a weeks worth of hair on them or Chewbacca stayed here. That’s the worst I have ever seen. Staff was nice and friendly about it but what a weird situation. I’ll spare you by not posting the pics.

2022-04-13Great location, great service. Likely where Ill go back next visit, dinged for things out of their control. People want to party at 2 am when in NYC, why not? Sucks when you are on the same floor and the floor itself is as small as it is. Hard to move rooms when the hotel is as small as it is. Same for the parking. Its a city, they dont have a garage, but the hotel could have given more advice on where to park. They kind of leave it to you to figure it out. Again, not there fault, would be 4 stars otherwise.

2022-02-15As soon as I walked in, Michael greeted us kindly and professional. Outstanding service from the beginning to the end. The room was clean, plenty of towels, and private. I will continue booking again at this beautiful IHG hotel. I have been to numerous hotels and this location by far is the best one!

2022-05-13Pros•Excellent value for money overall.•Relatively large room for Manhattan.•Good location; steps away from stock market, a few blocks from WTC, and abundant subway stations.•Compact relatively quiet area, rare for Manhattan.•Small hotel == no lobby chaos•Our room had a huge balcony, but I think it’s the only one•WiFi was excellent, connection was solid and speed was good (didn’t try to stream a movie though).•Blackout curtains inside tracks to keep out all light. They were frayed and easily came out of their tracks, but with some attention they worked well.Cons•Old and worn, cleanliness not up to normal Holiday Inn standards.•Part of carpet almost black from either use or flood.•Inside shower certain is angled so you get water on the floor no matter how careful•Bathroom fan scarcely moves any air•No booklet of hotel amenities, safety, restaurant hours, local attractions, and eateries.•There is a thermostat on the wall that doesn’t appear to do anything but read the room temperature.•Took a while in the cold to discover heat must be set on the below-window unit rather than the obvious wall thermostat; no instructions or sign to help.•Only one side of the bed had a nightstand (with light and power), even though it looked like there was room for another one on the other side.•We needed power outlets on both sides of the bed. We had to be shown by maintenance staff that if we needed power on that side that we had to pull the bed out to get to outlets below the headboard. That staff member was nice though.•Either the lock for the door to the big balcony was broken or we couldn’t figure it out. Not a huge safety issue, but it would have been nice to lock that door.•There is supposed to be a parking spot in front of the lobby, but of course it was occupied. We had to unload our car double-parked, blocking the one travel lane of the narrow city street. No staff member came out to help with luggage or traffic.•TV was quite small for the distance from the bed. It took a number of seconds to change each channel. A bigger more responsive TV should be considered.•There is a 1-2” high door stop built into the floor positioned to easily step on or trip over when walking to the bathroom at night from that side of the bed.•Room key stopped working when we came back from breakfast, several hours before check out time.•Housekeeping knocked on my door at 10:45am even though I had a do not disturb sign, said check out was 11am. I called the front desk to confirm checkout was 12noon.

2022-05-20Don’t stay here.We got a good deal on a room through HotelTonight, but after we checked in, a mysterious $700+ charge appeared on our credit card. We asked the front desk about it and they said we‘d have to wait until the manager was around to sort things out. This turned out to be a theme of the place: friendly, but disempowered staff, always politely telling us they can’t help.Later, we spoke with the manager and he sorted things out. We got the $700+ back. Had it ended there, I wouldn’t complain. But it didn’t end there. We subsequently got two additional $300+ charges. Again, we took it up with the front desk and again we were politely told that only the manager could help us, but he wasn’t around. In the end we checked out, unable to resolve the situation. We’ll leave it to our credit cad company to deal with the fraudulent charges. On top of this, and in line with other recent reviews, our room stank, the air conditioner was loud, and cleaning service was almost non-existent.On a positive note, the staff were kind. They just lacked executive ability, which in our case was a real problem. Also, the location is very convenient.

2022-05-18The manager Michael really made our stay fabulous. He was hospitable and accommodating but just made us feel at home. Location was perfect and easy to get to, rooms were clean and modern. Highly recommend.

2022-05-12I spent a total of 48 hours during my stay and it was the most professional and cleanest experience I’ve ever had. Everyone was timely and respectful. I came early and was accommodated promptly, even had my sheets changed when asked. A great stay overall.
