Positive: The location was good for fast food however a fridge and tv was in my room. Negative: The front desk manager was very rude he gave me my bill and when I queried the bill he tried avoiding me. A holding fee was added to my account without informing me . My bill is still in dispute with the Holiday Inn!!
Positive: Location and reasonable price. Rooms were comfortable. Great to have a fridge and microwave. Well equipped gym. Great to have access to computer and printer. Good support from staff there. Negative: TV did not function with the remote. Lack of paper plates and having to ask for coffee and cups every day. Garbage collection was infrequent. Neighbor was smoking weed.
Positive: The room was very clean and was well laid out. On top floor so not a bad view. Also I¿m happy I got an early check in. Negative: Only thing I did not like was that the housekeeper did not restock towels in my room when I asked her. She pretended as if she did not understand me. Imq
Hotel is pretty new or at least updated. Rooms are relatively quiet even though it is on a busy street. Staff is really friendly. Just a block away from the subway and walking distance to quite a few restaurants. Admittedly location is a little remote from the more popular NYC attractions but still pretty convenient to get around by subway. We would definitely consider staying here again.
Holiday Inn is a great location in lower east Manhattan, my family was there from 8/31/21-9/2/21 to move my daughter into her apartment. The room was clean, staff professional and friendly, the area felt safe; only issue was no parking. If not been for the parking challenge I would have rated a 5 star review, but it was very challenging to park in avoiding to pay $77 a day, I had to wake at 6am to move my car by 7 am to another location to avoid a ticket, then move again every two hours if not in the expensive parking garage that charged $8 the first hour and $3 every hour afterwards. Some hotels have contracts with the garage that gives guest a discount but not in this case. But other than that it was a great stay.
Pros: The staff did the best they could with the limited power they have.Cons: Fire alarm went off all night my first evening. I asked to be moved to another hotel and ignored. I told them I didnt want to pay for this evening. Acknowled about this multiple times but it was never corrected.Bed uncomfortableHousekeeping is on a restricted schedule. During a 5 day stay the room was refreshed only once. This is primarily an issue because the room is quite small. Limited resources - Not even spare towels were available.Management unaccountable. Even with knowledge that I am a Travel Agent and multiple follow ups about the unhappiness of the quality of my stay I was just given a card and told to email him. No attempts to mitigate damage or make the stay more enjoyable.
I liked the location close to Chinatown Manhattan a lot. There are so many fantastic restaurants and bakery in Chinatown which is just 8min by foot. It is central enough to get you quickly to either borrow of NYC. We walked through Chinatown to the Brooklyn bridge and all the way over to Brooklyn. The subway stops just a few blocks from the hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We discovered that the AC was broken in the first night and it was quickly fixed the next day. Due to COVID19, there was no room service. I asked for more coffee and tea and got plenty. The room itself was small with a tiny bathroom but clean. Theres not much space in the bathroom to put your toiletries. All in all it is a great value for the location. Clean hotel room and friendly staff. You dont need more if youre out the whole day anyway.
Room was a good size for a standard NYC hotel room. Everything was clean and room looked to have been updated recently. Good location near many subway lines and the Essex St market. Front facing room had some noise, but leaving the air handling fan on all night masked it well. I would stay here again
If you’re looking for a no-frills hotel that gives you a bed and bathroom, look no further. The room I stayed in was overwhelmingly brown with poor lighting. Very hard to see my face while putting on makeup. Also, the sink is too high for short people. When trying to wash my face or brush my teeth all the water lands on the counter which gets all over my chest. (This is a problem at most hotels and I’m 5’1” so figured it’s worth mentioning in case this warning helps someone else.) Anyway, this hotel has a bed and pretty good pillows.
Holiday Inn Lower East Side is a great hotel with great staff. It is clean in the lobby and secure. All staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Great courtyard. The only issue we had was air quality in the room was not good for allergies. The staff removed the down pillows, but unfortunately vents may be bad. We found some mold and will clean with lysol wipes.
Staff was nice the entire time. Hotel located in a good location for access to food and metro. This hotel has too many maintenance issues (lights, elevators, tvs are old and outdated)Not sure why nobody even asked to clean the room (3 day stay)Very low rating mostly because of the brand (Holiday Inn). I expect more from a seasoned name like Holiday Inn.
Hotel has great staff. Standard smallish room for NYC. Great location just off subway. Some tourists might not like lower east side, but it has many bars and is close to little italy and chinatown, and with subway you can easily get anywhere. Restaurant was not open and one elevator not operable most of the time. There are many nice bars within walking distance of hotel. The essex market across the street has no shops other than restaurants and food stores, although they had great cheese shops.
Love the location in the Lower East Side. Half a block to the subway and tones of restaurants/bars/shops within walking distance. It’s right on Delancey at the end of the bridge, so it can get a bit loud, which didn’t bother me, but could be an issue for families. People begging for money along Delancey got a bit old. The 99c pizza place around the corner was pretty decent after a few beers!
Excellent Customer Service. Only issue I had was that when we got to our room it was clear that someone had been smoking in it. We immediately were moved to another room. Staff was immediately attentive. The value and location were perfect for us. The beds were comfortable. Glad to have both firm and soft pillows. The room is small but it is New York so to be expected. Staff had COVID precautions in place. We ended up having to extend our stay for two extra nights due to a winter storm moving in to Houston and our flights getting cancelled. Staff was excellent. Location was great. Ate at Essex Market which was right across the street.
Positive: The staff was amazing - very friendly! We were able to get into our room a bit early and we got extra towels. Negative: The hallways were a bit narrow and claustrophobic. The downstairs bathroom wasn¿t clean - it needed to be on a more frequent cleaning schedule.
This staff mainly the morning to dinner time staff were ultra attentive to everyones needs. Even when some guest were rude they kept smiling and gave great service. They always greeted me with a smile and by name...even when I came walking in from the storm recently. Sidenote: I loved there were different types of outlets, different reading lights, full length mirror, and glass door standing shower.
This hotel is in a good location in the Lower East Side and is convenient to the rest of Manhattan. Our only problem was that we had no housekeeping at all during our three-night stay. We had to beg for clean towels and when we finally got them we only got two bath towels and not the two full sets that we had requested. Other than that, the staff was very friendly, the shower was GREAT, and the bed very comfortable. There wasnt much street noise, either, considering the hotel is on a major street just a couple blocks from the Williamsburg Bridge.
The hotel is at a great location and clean but there were a few things we did not like. Getting there we asked concierge if any bars were opened they said no because of COVID when in fact there were bars open. They didnt clean the room everyday and when we asked them to they didnt do it until we insisted. Due to them not cleaning the room we were constantly asking for toilet paper and clean towels. At one point they said they didnt have any clean towels. Great price and location but horrible service.
Stepping into the hotel was nice since everyone was wearing a mask. Waiting in line for over 10 minutes was not even though there was only one customer in front of me. The room I was given was clean and comfortable. The only issue was not enough bath towels for two even though it was listed that the room was for 2 people. Otherwise, the location was great and there is food in every corner.
Our first room had issues with smoke odors in the room, but the front desk was very responsive and assigned us another room. The rooms (both that we had) are nicely renovated and nice by even NYC standards. Hotel is excellently located for exploration of LES. Front desk friendly and care about customer experience.
Comfortable bed, clean room, attentive staff. That is the hallmark of good motels. This place is a jewel in a kind of not-so-clean neighborhood. But it is where I need to stay, so the Holiday Inn Lower East Side is a remarkably clean , secure, pleasant place. When you get inside this nice little Motel, you feel safe, secure and happy.
Had a great 5 night stay here!! Clean rooms, great front desk service, and very helpful employees. Eduardo and Ricardo were extremely helpful all around and Ricardo even walked my friend and I to our Uber after checkout and helped carry our many bags. Would definitely stay again, and cannot beat this price!
The beds were very comfortable and staff was very accommodating when I requested both a change of rooms from king bed to two double beds and a late checkout. I was not accustomed to the lack of daily maid service, but I have never seen the need for daily service. However service every other day, rather than their scheduled service, would have been appreciated. Staff was very friendly. Very conveniently located to the subway and the Lower East Side attractions.
The room was very comfortable. However we were on the noisy street side, but it only took us one night to get use to the noise. The staff was excellent and always willing to help. If my granddaughter continues to live in this neighborhood, we will definitely be back. Thanks for a wonderful stay
My stay here at the Holiday Inn was an exceptional one, the front desk as well as the management staff was very accommodating to my stay. The housekeeping team as well as the security was exceptional always looking out and providing excellent customer services. Also thank you to housekeeper rose for always providing my extra amenities.
The hotel employees provided great service. We didnt have enough towels and when I asked the front desk for assistant they quickly attended me, which was really nice. I also loved my hotel room had a refrigerator and the coffee maker. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
The staff at my hotel were extremely welcoming and kind. I had the impression that they would help no matter the circumstance. The room was comfortable, and the bathroom extremely clean, with a great shower. The only issues were a window shade that struggled to close completely and a clock radio that set to an alarm without my knowing.
Emmanuel at reception greeted us when we arrived on May 25, 2021. He allowed us to get into our room early, provided us with free water, and was extremely friendly and warm. Everyone that worked there was friendly and the price for New York was reasonable.I loved the location and look forward to returning soon.
I needed to stay on the lower east side for a family member funeral last weekend. Got a king bed for my daughter and I. The room is small but I expected that in NYC. There is no refrigerator so we couldnt store any food. The bed quilt was a duvet insert but wasnt inserted into a duvet. Was just under a sheet. It was also ripped with multiple holes. The TV remote wouldnt work. The bathroom had some stains on the wall. Overall a nice clean place to stay on the lower east side. Had an OK view of the empire state building on the 7th floor. Also my father who was also staying in a different room requested an extra blanket because hes elderly and gets chilled easy. Was told there are no extra blankets because the hotel was full. Ive never heard of this!
Staff was very accommodating and kind, and room was clean, but looked like it needed a vacuum. Huge spider in the shower. Not including that in the rating though. Someone was smoking in an adjacent room, but staff said they would handle it. Internet speed is delightful. Beverages are WAY overpriced. Staff courteously accommodated a small favor regarding a delivery, which was very nice. Overall very nice stay, and I would review higher but it just seems a little expensive for the room size and accommodations.
I arrived during a hot, humid August day. The hotel was conveniently located just off the Williamsburg Bridge. The desk clerk was friendly, informative and patient. The room was clean and pleasant. The room key was needed to use the elevator which gave an extra level of security. I had trouble getting my key to work in the elevator, the desk clerk happily reset it for me.
This is by no means a 4 star hotel. I had to call the front desk 4x to change our sheets and it never happened over the course of our entire stay. It took over 24hrs just for them to come pick up the trash. No restaurant open in the hotel and could not access the gym. After checking out we noticed that our card had been charged every day during our stay for over $150/day even though the room had been paid in full with a deposit. I had to get a new room key every time I needed to get into my room because it deactivated after every use.. only benefit is that it’s close to the subway and walkable areas.
I came to New York for Halloween to celebrate, and it has been a while since Covid, so it was great to be in the lower Eastside once again. Tristan was very accommodating and got us settled in, and recommended a few good places to go to within the neighborhood. Close to all get attractions, and the live light in the neighborhood will keep you entertained.
I loved staying at the Holiday Inn in Delancy. Very helpful staff. Beautiful view and a clean room. Loved walking on the bridge, took a paint class blocks away and visited China town. Can jump on the train or cab into the city. Great place to unwind no matter why you’re in town. Would definitely come back and recommend this hotel. Felt very quiet and peaceful.
The staff acted totally ILLEGALLY, UNETHICALLY and UNPROFFESSIONALLY. I accidentally booked my stay for five days instead of 6. When I returned to the hotel on the 6th day the desk manager called my name out publicly and told me my possessions had been removed from my room, and pointed to a pile of paper bags in the corner of the main lobby, in a public space, unattended. I was shocked and began to dig through my possessions, but decided first to photograph the situation for the police. I asked about the contents of the safe they provided, which included private banking information, my passport and visa. They called a security man who accompanied me to my room, only to find the safe empty. As we returned to the elevator we encountered a cleaner who said he had opened and emptied the safe and put my valuables in the same bags downstairs with my other possessions. I thanked God when I found the valuables mixed with soiled socks and my drawings I had made worth hundreds of dollars, now crumpled and damaged. Again, I took photos if all these things, for the police, for the management of the CRIMINAL Holiday Inn Corporation and my insurance company, which will hold them legally responsible for negligence and ILLEGALLY opening the safe. I have now edited my review after their reply.... Read below the lies and false excuses that they provided. Nobody tried to call me. I can prove it with my phone and email messages. They did not wait 7 hours. When I went up to the room nobody had checked in, so their excuse that they had another occupant waiting is not true either. The fact that they dumped my possessions in the corner of the public lobby doesnt seem to matter to them either, obviously. Nor does the fact that they threw all my most important and private personal documents and information (which LEGALLY they are obliged to should have safely stored along with ALL my possessions) into these same bags also does not seem to matter to these kind of people. As they admitted below, they did it so they could charge $400 for the room that night because of the Marothon instead of accepting my mistake and allowing me to pay for another night. They were calous and laughed when I said thier behaviour was outrageous. The manager sneered at me and said Why? when I told him I was outraged. My lawyers say it is a very good case. My freinds on Facebook and Instagram and Twitter and TicToc also know the story and will never set foot in the criminal Holiday Inn again.
Stayed at this location due to convenience but check in was very slow and had to wait a good while. Two staffs to check people in but only one actually working. The room was ok a bit on the small side but doesnt bother me. The pillows were dirty not sure if washed correctly. On the pillow edges there was still black dark stains. As for the smoking policy seems like its just for show since my floor smelled of weed right out the elevator. I didnt report since it wasnt in my room thank God.
I will not be too harsh as this was a last-minute booking and there not too many places in the Lower East Side that had rooms available so late. The only major issue I had was with the person in the front. He did not want to tell me what the extra charges were and I had to ask him multiple times. There was a party going on next door and no one said anything. And finally, the fire alarm went off and even though it was a false alarm, it rang and only got louder for an hour straight. Everything else about the stay was alright. I felt safe and the space was clean. I did not get to experience breakfast.
Positive: It was just comfort. Negative: It was nothing spectacular that made this a 4 star hotel. I bought a ¿city view¿ and it literally just overlooks a Highway and office buildings. A city view is like seeing the city from higher above levels. This hotel is only 9 levels not even a cit
Positive: Only staff. They did all best, what they could do Negative: The room key is not worked. I changed it already 3 times. Neighborhood is unsafe. Specially at night. And room is not clean. I accidentally dropped my my watch under the bed, and it was Disgusting. A lot of bottles and trash
Room was clean and decently updated. Offered a Kuerig in the room and most amenities you would expect from a chain hotel. The surrounding neighborhood was not what it once was, and I wouldn’t recommend the area if you aren’t purposefully staying at this location. There are better neighborhoods in NYC.
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Lower East Side during our recent extended weekend getaway to NYC. We considered Airbnbs in the area and hotels in other parts of town, but landed on staying here based on its proximity to transit and the quality/consistency that comes with staying at a well-known hotel brand. And I’m so glad we did! This place exceeded all of our expectations and I cannot say enough good things about this hotel! It offers the perfect location less than a block away from a subway station, which basically puts you 15-20 minutes or less from any point in the city. Not to mention all of the great restaurants, bars and shopping within walking distance. The rate is unbeatable given the amenities in the neighborhood, the rooms and community spaces are super clean and the staff is friendly and welcoming upon daily arrival and departure. The area feels very safe at all hours. Our check-in and check-out went smoothly, and the staff happily held our bags during travel days so we could continue enjoying our time in the city while waiting for our room to be ready/our flight to leave. For my boyfriend who has a hard time unplugging from work entirely, the free WiFi was a lifesaver. All in all, we had an awesome experience and this will definitely be the place we stay in NYC from now on.
We had a great time at the hotel. The staff we extremely helpful and always able to answer any questions and have great tips on things to do while we were in the city. The room was very comfortable and big, the beds was great and the pillows big and soft. Everyday our room was cleaned, fresh towels and a made bed. Highly recommend this property for anyway looking to enjoy their stay in New York City.
The staff was friendly especially the staff at the front desk they also accommodated my big family and the bathrooms where very clean. The rooms where very small so fitting my baby stroller was a bit hard. We also noticed what looked to be blood stains on our blankets that unfortunately we noticed at the end of our stay but we did notice blood stains on my sisters pillow and she called for clean sheets though they told her they only change sheets every 5 days I don’t think that’s very hygienic and it took a while to get to her she got them. Our room did smell a bit funky and stuffy but we aired it out when we opened up the window. Other then that our stay was good we called for towels and it took a lil while but we got them. Overall our stay was not bad other then those flaws we had a nice stay Dawn helped us a lot.
Aside from random knocking at night (dont know if it was from staff or other guests in the hallway), the hotel stay was not bad. The room and bed was comfortable. It also wouldve been nice if there was lotion provided. Nonetheless, no big complaints. Service at the front desk was great.
Location and decent staff are the only things allowing me to write a half decent review otherwise I was over my stay very quick. The icing on the cake was the hot water issue at the very end wish happened at around 9:30 which meant you had very little time to wait and get dressed to go. I ended up showering at my sisters place. The other issue that bothered me which was the lack of blankets on both beds in my room and an old carpet which made the room feel stuffy even after keeping the window open all day. I was truly uncomfortable here.
I was greeted warmly upon arrival, and was reminded why this business is called hospitality - staff was friendly and made me feel welcomed. I was very satisfied with the room size, comfort of the beds and pillows, and the overall cleanliness of the hotel. Room prices were good, especially for New York, so I was happy that no corners were cut in order to maintain that price. I was visiting family in the area, and will definitely be back.
The hotel is located in an up and coming area of town that is not quite there yet. Buildings with heavy graffiti surround the property. Homeless persons sleep on the adjoining streets. The hotel itself is nice and appears to have been renovated recently. The decor is modern and the property was very clean. The staff was very friendly and, most importantly, honest. My 80 year old father also stayed at the property and somehow manged to leave his car keys, house keys, and wallet with credit cards in his room. The staff found the items and after they were contacted about the lost items they shipped them to him intact. Thank you staff!! The parking situation is terrible. Do not look at Google maps or follow advise from other travelers on the web. The parking lot that used to be across the street at a reasonable cost is no longer there. Two large buildings are being constructed on top of it. The closest parking is 2 blocks away and will cost a minimum $75 per night. The hotel is an easy walk to the Angel Orensantz wedding/art venue(Amazing venue by the way).
Was welcomed as an IHG member and felt special. Front desk staff so friendly and helpful answered all our questions. Housekeeping very friendly and efficient as well for additional requests of items. Very convenient to restaurants and places to visit. The lounge was great for late night get togethers and the staff were so friendly . Breakfast was good and servers friendly. Overall we enjoyed our visit and would come back again. Thanks you for a great visit!
Location of the hotel is great. Within 3 min you are at the subway station and then another 15-20 min to times square. Neighborhood is lively, even at night, never felt unsafe. Hotel staff at the reception were great, even the housekeeper was very sweet and polite. I would suggest to book a rate excluding breakfast as its really not what i expected from Holiday Inn. We only ate there 2 out of 5 days. It was not up to standard, and staff in the breakfast area were unprofessional or indifferent to clients satisfaction. Except for breakfast, hotel is great, good bed, clean, nice people at the reception.
This hotel is a true gem. Its so hard to find affordable accommodation in NYC. And when it is affordable, its generally shockingly low quality. I was blown away by the affordable rate at this Holiday Inn. It was so clean and quiet. And I was happy to be greeted with chocolate and a water bottle! I really loved my stay, I told others about it, and I will come again.
My wife and I spent valentines weekend/our 10th anniversary in NYC. We chose Holiday Inn because we always have superior service. We were not disappointed. Staff immediately greeted us as we checked in and gave us a care package as we checked in. Room and hotel was clean and modern. Staff was friendly every time we came in and out. What I did like as a security measure, you had to use your room key to operate the elevator.
Terms of this review process state IHG reserves the right to change, condense, remove, or refuse to post any Content for any reason at any time without noticeThis guest experience review has so many restrictions and requirements I question the validity of any of the submissions. Its also making it less likely we will ever stay at a Holiday Inn again. We wanted clean towels and for someone to pick up our trash after a couple days.
This hotel is located at lower east side of Manhattan which is near China town and little Italy. You can easily find a lot of yummy food and different cuisines nearby. And it’s on the one end of Williamsburg bridge. The hotel only has 8 floors which isn’t a big hotel. But it’s simple and smart. When I got there, the front desk had a greeting to me, meanwhile he was very polite and professional. it’s the first time I felt amenities in American hotels. The only issue was maybe the hotel is near street, so the room was not very quiet and room categories not many to choose, which I think I didn’t get an upgrade even if I am a spire member. If the price is appropriate, I will choose this hotel again when I visit New York in future.
Excellent Hotel , wonderful Staff . Close to everything .As a member of IHG I have always Received great services from Holiday Inc / Holiday Inc Express thru Business (Company preferred) and leisure since 2008. Will stay here again next time I am in NY.Thank You very much for the great services I have received.
I have never had worse customer service at a hotel in my life. Thank God we are checking out today. If there were any other hotels near where we needed to be that had vacancies, we would have left. They only clean your room once. Apparently because of Covid, they only clean rooms on Thursdays....but they are open for business, everyone is wearing masks, we have food delivery people in and out...but they can’t have housekeeping come to the rooms while their guests are out to clean the rooms?Ok. Fine, they only clean once a week. Did they do anything to make sure their guests are taken care of in the meantime? Nope.We had to ask for clean towels (more than once because they only brought up wash and hand towels). There are three of us and they only brought up two towels.Day one, no cup stirrers for the coffee...We asked for coffee since housekeeping isn’t replenishing anything and they wanted to push decaf because it was right there next to him. When they did bring up coffee, they brought up 2. Again there’s three of us.We had to bring our own trash bags because they aren’t coming in to clean the rooms. The building is non smoking but you get contact high because as soon as you get to the elevator all you smell is weed. When the neighbor lights up, the smell is extremely strong in our room. There is one sheet and another sheet. That’s it. You not getting a blanket so make sure crank that heat up.There’s a few buildings across the street and there’s no way to close the curtains..there’s two sheer curtains in the middle and the thick curtains on either side don’t move.If their concern is COVID, they should want the rooms to be extra sanitized. I’m not sure if this place is on the verge of shutting down and they just don’t care and are trying to safe as much money as possible or they need a customer service expert to come in and help.Even if the consensus is to only clean one time a week, they could have easily made each room a daily package with replenishments so we had what we needed without having to continuously ask or bring in our own things. We were very disappointed and disgusted in this stay. I don’t recommend anyone stay here. This is for the Holiday Inn is located at 150 Delancey Street in the LES. It 💯 sucks.
That was a nice little spot that we found towards the end of our night so obviously we knew that we weren’t going to find a nicer hotel but honestly it’s not as bad the rooms are a bit small but it’s doable if you don’t have a lot of stuff the bathrooms aren’t as clean but it is nice it is a bit spacious as well. The windows do not open all the way but it does let in a little bit of breeze the view is not all that because you’re literally staring at another building but that’s all right lol. The elevators don’t work that well so for us somebody from the desk had to go and do the elevator for us. But honestly it was an alright place to be at.
Located near many shops, bars, and restaurants, this hotel is in a perfect location. Initial impressions are important, and check-in was a breeze, made easy by the friendly, knowledgeable front desk staff (shout out to Tristan). The room was updated and clean, and the bed was more than comfortable. Even with all the hustle and bustle outside, I couldn’t hear a peep when in my room and slept soundly. Furthermore, security is important to me, and I liked the system in which you need the room key to access the elevator at any time. Overall, this is a great hotel for business or leisure, and will definitely stay here again at this location when I visit NYC again.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Lower East Side for three nights while visiting my son in NYC. The hotel is clean and in a good location close to the subway. There is a Burger King and a convenience store close by. The staff were very welcoming. We had trouble with our tv and it was taken care of immediately. The guest rooms are large for NYC standards and we all thought the beds were very comfortable. I was very impressed with the hotel and the price. We will definitely stay here again!
Staff was very friendly and helpful upon check in. Allowed us to hold our bags to make a lunch a after our final day and check out time to come back at the end of the day and grab our bags, this was very easy and speedy. Hotel was clean and quiet overall except the neighboring doors being loud when shutting. Proximity of the doors to the rooms on either side of the corner rooms are extremely close, making it very loud when neighbors would close their doors etc. but overall enjoyed the hotel, clean, breakfast was fresh, and location worked well for use, subway access close as well was a plus.
My stay at this particular Holiday Inn was fantastic. The room was a tiny bit small, but overall a decent size being that its New York City. The staff was really great and friendly, and brought up the products to my room soon after I requested them. The free internet was definitely a plus, and I liked being on the 6th floor with the street view. The air conditioning was great and so was the cable TV. My only complaints are that there was a) no refrigerator provided and b) no free breakfast. Other than that, I thought it was a great hotel located in a great location, close to transportation and within walking distance to plenty to do.
All the great reviews of this property are true. Location is wonderful and the proximity to the subway makes this a perfect place to stay in NYC.Plenty of lighting in the room. More electric outlets then Ive ever seen in a hotel room; they are also in convenient locations and easy to get to.Good water pressure in the shower and plenty of hot water.I paid attention to the notes about which address to use for GPS and was glad I did.
The location of this hotel is fantastic, and the price during the week cannot be beat. The room itself has large and clean, for the most part. Bathroom could have used an extra scrubbing or two especially on the toilet and toilet seat prior to my arrival. Also, the nightstand configuration was a little Bazaar in that the drawer kept falling out from the nightstand. Also there is a telephone on the nightstand that I try to move so that I could put things in the nightstand, however the telephone cord for the telephone is very short and wouldnt allow for this. These are just some very basic gripes, but shouldnt stand in the way of anyone wanting to book a nice clean room in a great location for solid price.
I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. Its right off the subway line and convenient to walk to Chinatown. The East Side has a great vibe and lively night life. The rooms were decent size, beds clean and comfortable. Multiple outlets in the room so great for charging all your electronics. They have good discounts at this hotel too! I highly recommend!
Hotel was clean and well run. Very good location for lower east Manhattan. AC has only 1 fan setting which is loud and windy. We had a false fire alarm for our corner one afternoon which was quickly resolved. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Refrigerator worked well. Location is close to many restaurants and not too far a walk to Chinatown, Workd Trade Center Memorial, and several parks. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would stay again.
Our 4th time in New York and chose to stay here at The Holiday Inn at 150 Delancey Street. The location was perfect with great access to the subway and so much going on in the local area. Not too busy like midtown. Great hotel with clean comfortable rooms but better than that were the people that worked there. Every single member of staff were so helpful and friendly. Especially Eduardo who went out of his way to provide amazing customer service. Eduardo you are a credit to your company and we will definitely be back again.
Overall it was a nice stay. They did come into the room unannounced about 30 minutes after checking in while I was changing, and also at the front desk there was a specific person that was extremely rude when my key card didnt work. Otherwise, checking in was easy, most of the staff was very friendly/kind, and the hotel is at a very good location. 22 minutes on the train to Time Square/Rockefeller, only about 30-45 min to JFK, and lots in the area to see/do.
Not a terrible stay but not finding out there was little to no breakfast facilities until we arrived was a pain as the nearest decent diner is a 15minute walk in the opposite direction to where I was working everyday.Aircon units in the room are very very noisey and when its hot like it is its very difficult to sleep without it on even with ear plugs in the units woke me up when they turned on most evenings.Im not a snobby Platinum elite member but when I have to almost bully staff to put my number on the system because it wasnt on the reservation for some reason its slightly annoying as this trip was worth over 40k points I didnt want to lose them also no offer of room upgrade or free drink I even had to ask for my welcome points to be added at some effort I might add. no sure if this hotel participates in the greener stay scheme but no points added for that either if it does.I cannot really fault the staff other than the loyalty mixup they were always pleasant and helpful. The rooms are a good size compared to other places in the area.
Positive: Location. Cleanliness. Negative: Cleaning service was not daily. Was told only cleans on Tuesday and Thursdays due to Covid. While I can understand, they should have disclosed that at checkin. Only one shower towel provided for myself/wife. We had to share. Limited towels due to Covid.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of our room, the professionalism of the staff, and the general comfort of our stay. Because the price was so great, I half expected our room to be cramped but it exceeded our expectations. The elevator was big enough to accommodate our double stroller, and the hotel at night was quiet, allowing us to get a great nights sleep. The staff recommended excellent choices within walking distance when we asked for advice for meals. Plus the location made it ideal for catching the subway, walking to various sites, and getting the full NYC experience without exorbitant prices .
The staff at this hotel really made this trip so memorable for my friend and I. We were greeted every time we went down to the lobby and really enjoyed how fun and friendly the staff were. The rooms had everything we needed and the beds were really comfortable. Despite being nearby a main road, we didnt hear any road noise. Great location and easy access to the subway lines. Highly recommend.
We arrived really late in the night, and thankfully were easily assisted in check-in by the front-desk staff, Nathaniel. He was by far a very easy-to-talk-to person, who also assisted us in booking our necessary shuttle and providing us options to eat near the hotel. The rooms are clean and nice, and the hotel provided a small refrigerator upon request. If there is one thing that could be improved, its the breakfast, which could use either some meat or eggs.
We loved our stay at the Holiday Inn LES. The hotel has been remodeled and looks great. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The room was clean and modern. The room size was great - much bigger than most NYC hotels. The bed was comfortable and we got great sleep. We loved the walk in shower in the bathroom. We could hear a little street noise, but it never bothered us and did not interfere with our sleep. We were on the 5th floor.
The rooms are nice, the staff is nice but it is a noisy neighborhood and for a hotel which was build not to long ago the rooms are very noisy for street noise. We where on the sixth floor. Ask for a room not on the Burger King / Main Street side. That must help! Location is great and convienant. You can reach lower Manhattan very easily also walking from here.
My family and I enjoyed staying at this Holiday Inn. We were right where we wanted to be, close to great food. I booked as it was listed as a 4 star hotel, but I think this is a generous rating. While the hotel was nice, I wouldnt say it was comparable to other IHG 4-star properties. The room was smaller than expected, but that might be a large room relative to New York. It was clean and the people that work there gave us great service and treated us well.
We had a great stay. The staff was friendly and obliging, helping us with early check-in and leaving our luggage. The room was clean, well maintained and up-to-date with TV, thermostat that kept the room just as we liked it, coffee-maker with coffee, tea and sweetener, a small safe, closet and drawer space, and ample bed with comfortable mattress. The bathroom was clean and comfortable. There was a complimentary fitness area. There were complimentary toiletries. We would definitely return to this hotel.
A great location very close also to subway. Nice room and excellent bed. I enjoyed tv with movies and basketball. Especially effective and courteous was the desk front staff when I left on two occasions bags with them. all was handled well and promptly. nice touch the apples on the front desk which I used, and the USA today newspaper to start reading in the morning the news....
Lovely staff but physical space was lacking. Anole at check-in was very kind, as were all the staff we engaged with during our stay. Unfortunately, one of the two elevators were broken, and the remaining elevator had trouble reading card keys or closing doors all the way, resulting in consistent delays while guests re-closed doors or tried to use their card keys to get to their floor. Rooms were fine, especially for NYC, but smelled strongly of artificial scents (which I am more allergic to than I thought). Very little shelf or sink space in bathroom so bring a hanging toiletry bag. Conveniently located near LES and Essex Market....but adjacency to LES also meant a LOT of partying kids in their 20s, some of whom contributed to the elevator delays by being too drunk/high to actually work the elevator. A solid budget option for the neighborhood, which has its ups and downs. Room total, as a FYI, was $120 with taxes and fees, and should qualify for the $25 All In NYC Mastercard refund. One other note, and the reason I am giving 3 stars: we booked a two-bed room WEEKS before but only received a king room when we arrived for my husband, 12 year old and me. Not an impossible situation, but a challenging one as rollaways were not available. I was offered the option of canceling without penalty at check in, but not offered a further discount or option for upgrade. (if one even existed)
In our confirmation email, we were told that there was limited parking. What we didn’t know what that there was no parking at all other than a parking garage 3 blocks away. That was fine, except for that fact we didn’t know we’d be paying almost as much on parking than we did on our actual stay. The only thing that would make this better would be some sort of validation. Unfortunately, because of this, we probably will not return to this location.
I have twin daughters who went to NYU and now live in Brooklyn. I have been staying regularly at this Holiday Inn for about three years. The location is great for me. The staff knows me by name and takes great care of me. I have recommended this hotel to many friends. It is always a great value, very affordable by NY standards. Cozy, clean and comfortable!
Very comfortable room for a good price and it had nearly all the amenities you would need for a short stay. My only complaints are that the coffee machine provided with the room did not work and there was no mini-fridge, but the hotel is in a very convenient area in The Lower East Side so there are many bodegas and eateries within walking distance. Would definitely recommend.
There isnt much more I can say about this hotel and its staff that I havent said in other reviews over the last 3 or 4 years. Fantastic to see that the outstanding customer service from the staff has been maintained. Always made to feel incredibly welcome by every staff member and they always remember us when we come back. The room was very clean and comfortable and serviced regularly during our extended stay. Although we could stay somewhere cheaper, this hotel provides excellent service and a fantastic location to explore one of the most diverse and exciting cities in the world. With places like Doughnut Plant, Tinys Giant Sandwich Shop, Meatball Shop, Clinton St Baking Co, Pig and Khao all on the doorstep, its a great place to be located
I have been staying at the Holiday Inn Delancey Street for about five years. I have usually visited with one or both of my children, from pre-teen to teen years. The staff are wonderful: kind, knowledgeable and affable. Each manager has been highly professional, helpful and warm. I look forward to each stay there. It is a top-notch hotel.
Hotel was small and overpriced, but clean, so it was fine for the night. Staff behind the front desk was very helpful. IHG Rewards cancelled my reservation the day before check in and did not notify me whatsoever. Luckily the man behind the front desk was able to work things out and get us a room. The bed was too hard for my liking and the pillows were too large for me personally. Overall the place is fine; just small and expensive and has pretty much no amenities. IHG Rewards was a nightmare. Maybe book over the phone with the hotel directly.
The staff were fantastic. Wanda at the Front Desk was especially friendly and helpful. Our server in the restaurant was also very friendly, and happy to accommodate our special requests. The breakfast was was also very good. The bar tender on Friday night was rude and didnt provide good service, but thats what you find in NYC bars anyway. Everything in the hotel was perfectly clean and modern. The AC was very strong, as was the water pressure in the shower. The room was a bit small, as was the bathroom, and the bathroom didnt have enough storage space for personal belongings, or places to hang towels.
I was pleasantly surprised. this was a last minute booking so i didnt have much choice, and truth be told HI would not have been top of my lust, but i had an excellent stay! we called day prior arriving, same day booking was made, and they set up early check in and accomodated request we had for 2 beds instead of one with no problems or discussions.all the staff was friendly and helpfulthe whole property was very cleanmoving forward i will ve staying in HIs more often.the beds were also very veey comfortable. had great nights reats
Ive been staying at this property for over 2 years (approx. 10 visits). The location is perfect for me as I have two daughters living in Brooklyn and I enjoy spending time in on this end of Manhattan. However, it is an easy commute to the Upper East Side via the FDR. The staff at this hotel has always been friendly and very helpful. Eduardo and Tristan and all the rest of the staff are wonderful. I am happy and comfortable when I stay there and the prices are always very reasonable.
Took my 3 kids on vacation, the hotel was a block from the subway which made it perfect for us. Beds were comfortable (I requested extra pillows and they were delivered immediately) Im usually pretty picky about beds and these were great. The neighborhood may not be the nicest, but I felt completely safe walking around by myself and with my kids even night. Everyone was super friendly we visited many restaurants in the area everything was great!
It was a little difficult to find the entrance, but once inside, the staff was so friendly and helpful. They always remembered my name and greeted me upon entrance/exit.The elevators were fast, which I have found not to be the case in other hotels in the city.Everything was clean, updated, and comfortable... more luxurious than I expected at this price point, which was a pleasant surprise. The room, bed, and pillows were so comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure. The blackout curtains were ideal after traveling all night and wanting to take an afternoon nap.I really loved staying here, and as my friends will tell you, I talked about it for about a week afterwards. Super impressed, IHG!
Hotel is not in a very touristy location. Staying here, you will see a lot of locals going about their daily routine. That being said, I had not felt unsafe at any time walking to nearby Chinatown or Little Italy. Standard room for NYC. Room was clean, no refrigerator, but it did have a coffee maker. Neighborhood had many restaurants and bars within a short walking distance. The subway entrance is very near the hotel. Some negatives, the bathroom is small, which should be expected for NYC. Parking was a few blocks away across the very busy Delancey Street and cannot be accessed directly from the hotel. Also, the room has a very loud AC unit, which made it difficult to sleep.Positives—extremely friendly, courteous and very accommodating staff, which made up for the lack of sleep. The front desk, at check in, went out of their way to be sure we got a room as soon as possible when checking in early. Also, when walking to breakfast one morning, I mentioned to the front desk staff that we would be gone approximately an hour, and would appreciate our room being cleaned in our absence. I also mentioned a tv remove issue. Upon our return, we were happily surprised to find our room cleaned and the tv remote working to my satisfaction. I was very appreciative of the quick response by the staff. We had the opportunity to try the Retro bar. Stopping for a nightcap after a long day in the city, the bartender Rodelix made sure our time there was memorable. He surely is an asset to the Holiday Inn Express staff.
Nice size room, decent front desk staff, pillows i did not enjoy. vending machine takes cards. Train station and the essex market are right there. Late night McDonalds if you have to. Close to head to Brooklyn if thats in your plans. I would stay again if my activities in the city coincided. The train makes everything 15-20 away and doable.
The location is in what I like to think of as the rambunctious part of town. There is a lot of food and things going on around the hotel. I’m in the middle of moving to a location a couple miles away, so it has been incredibly convenient to go to this hotel. They have always tried to accommodate me with early check in and late check out without extra costs, which I find an incredibly valuable things from a hotel. That alone is reason enough for me to always pick this hotel.
Assigned room waa dirty. Bad not made linens on floor. Hoise keeping didnt clean from precipis guest.Hall wau smelt like garbage. Hall trash can eae elevator appeared not to have been emptied in a day or so. Just not clean.Second room assignedWas made but not very cleanTowels disnt seem freshDesk DustyTowel rack brokenEmployees were friendly.
Hotel is in good location. facility clean and modern. Staff was excellent. bed super comfy. rooms on the small side but your in NYC where space is at a premium. Check-in staff corrected a reservation issue created by IHG corp. Extremely professional and compassionate throughout the process. A rating from me. I didnt eat or drink here but Im sure it was fine. 1st place Ill book when I return.
Booked and stayed with the Holiday Inn on Lower East Side (Delancey Street) for a rewarding trip for my daughter on her Sr. Year Trip (Honors Student). On arrival, I was dismayed about on-site parking (they have none) or off-site parking for a reduced fee. I found out parking was on me and typically, the hotels in the area are pretty much the same. HOWEVER, the management was understanding about the value of parking at the hotel (for safety and security) and worked up a fair solution for us.We did not spend much time at the hotel because the focus of the trip was to explore New York and take in as many museums, shops, plays, sights, sounds, subways, tours and events as we could over the week. But when we did return to Holiday Inn - Lower East Side, it was a welcomed sight! Clean accommodations, clean water, friendly staff, great management and good food in the Retro Bar & Grille. I chose this location because of its proximity in the city and the things we were there to do. Next time I visit NYC, Ill choose this location because of the quality of the facility and the staff.
We were in NYC for one night to see our friend in a play. The play was in the lower East side which is why we stayed at this . We had not stayed at a Holiday Inn for a few years and we have been missing out! This hotel was clean, affordable, room was updated and NICE, staff was so friendly and helpful. Twice I said to my husband, what is going in. Why is every person here so NICE? We could not believe the service we received. Breakfast was free and we were debating on eating at the hotel. That would have been a mistake. Restaurant was a retro diner that was cute and clean. The food was delicious. Could not believe it was free. Not a buffet but a sit down meal. The staff again were so friendly and worked hard! We usually stay at another well known hotel chain. Not anymore. We are proud to say we love Holiday Inn! Give them a try.
Eduardo and Benjamin are the best front desk staff I have ever met! They went over and beyond to make everything about our stay fantastic! The hotel was in a wonderful location - close to tons of restaurants and a subway entrance. The room was so quiet (no street noise) and had everything we needed. My only complaint is the service at the hotel restaurant. The waitress was terrible and the food was mediocre. But other than that, it was an excellent experience and I would definitely recommend this hotel!
Our stay at this place was very fun. The hotel staff were friendly and courteous on every encounter, and offered to help anytime we needed anything. The rooms were very clean and upgraded more than any other Holiday Inn i have previously stayed at. It felt safe since you had to use the hotel key to activate the elevator, and in an awesome area! Definitely recommend this place!
The Inn is new so their electronic connections and equipment are up-to-date and there are plenty of them available in the room. They also have a lobby office area with internet connections. The rooms are smaller than usual, but this is Manhattan, and space of any kind is at a premium. I would prefer brighter lighting in the room as there is only room for one person in the bathroom for doing makeup. The air conditioner is rather loud, but it was easy to control the room temperature. If you are tired from sight-seeing, you go to sleep quickly anyway. The restaurant food was good but not outstanding. It is nice to have a restaurant in the building, and breakfast was better than dinner. The overall service was excellent, and the location was perfect. They have car service available to the airport for an additional fee. We used the service, and the driver was excellent and the trip was easy. It was definitely worth the cost. I would stay here again if I come back to New York.
Room was good but check in staff was very rude and I believe she just did not want to be there working. Also may be as I’m an Asian she just looked down on me. Never had this kind of experience in any hotels in the UK. I guess us customer service is different. Can’t complaint. I would not recommend to stay for long in this specific location unless you really need to stay I. Downtown for urgency.
The front desk was awesome. Check in time wasn’t until 3, but we arrived in NYC allotrope earlier than expected. We were checked in around noon. Good value for location; however, there were only two towels for both nights in the four-person room. Called front desk and they were nice about it, but towels arrived over an hour later. overall good experience.
Great experience! From the start, we felt accommodated and welcomed by the staff. We were able to see and choose between three room options and chose the best one for us. We also received a breakfast voucher. Hotel location was ideal, right off a metro station with bus access. And right by a top listed lunch spot- Taqueria Diana. Thanks to Benjamin and staff for making our NY trip that much better!
People were great, I never expected holiday inn to be the way it was.. honestly, I was thinking cheaper service cheaper amenities. But I was happy. I just wish the beds were more comfortable, and the pillows were better. Also, I would have liked a bigger room.. the two double beds for 3 people was so crammed our luggage was barely fitting. But the price and quality of the hotel was great, Ill stay again for sure!
Exceptional cleaning and front desk staff. Able to answer all questions with a smile and sage advice. The restaurant was basically a bar, so anyone looking for a flavorful dining experience should go elsewhere. Food was average, and all items on the menu werent available(no rice!).The room was small, but nice. The only complaint on the room would be the noise level coming from the street, but, after all, I guess it is NYC!Would certainly stay here again.
We were very pleased with our experience at the Holiday Inn LES. We looked for a reasonably priced hotel in the area because my daughter lives nearby. So many of the hotels are outrageously priced, we were a little skeptical at first about the Holiday Inn LES. We were VERY pleased with the staff and the room. It was clean, modern and the bathroom was great! Yes, it was small, as are many NY hotel rooms, but we felt it was a good value and enjoyed our stay. Will stay here again when visiting my daughter. Lots of great restaurants in the area as well!
We stayed at this hotel for it’s location to where we needed to be in NYC. It is close to the subway, so it is easy to get anywhere in the city. There are also several interesting restaurants within walking distance. The hotel was clean with friendly check in staff. There is a nice courtyard. Our room was a little small, but we weren’t there very much. Also no refrigerator, but not really room.
I chose this hotel for its proximity to the surrounding area.It is within walking distance of Chinatown, Little Italy, Greenwich Village and the Financial District.I was pleasantly surprised to find the hotel and rooms both clean and up to date. The staff was helpful and caring. The rooms both quiet and comfortable.I have been suggesting it to friends and I will definitely be staying here again upon my next trip to NYC.Did I mention that the subway is practically right outside the door!!!
My boyfriend and I stayed two nights and were really able to enjoy our time. The beds were comfortable and the room was very clean.Negatives, which were minor, included size of room (it was very small) and lighting in the bathroom made it difficult when putting on makeup. Other than that, the hotel and the service were excellent.
Hotel is well taken care of and the staff is very accommodating. Access to the subway is a block away and the Sussex Market near by is a great place to grab a bite to eat. You are also near by Russ and Daughters. The room was clean and well maintained. As always, IHG hotels are very affordable and available at all times, even during the busy season.
I made multiple trips to the Lower East Side for work this summer, and this hotel was in the perfect location. I was pleased with the hotel and my room but each and every stay exceeded my expectations because Eduardo and Tristan provided exceptional service. They were friendly, customer oriented and had great recommendations for restaurants in the area. I was surprised that they knew my name and greeted me personally… not only when I was at the front desk but also when I called once from my cell phone. I will stay here again when I return to NYC next year because of the outstanding service they provided.
I will definitely stay in this hotel again and will recommend it to friends and family. We were one of three couples staying in the hotel for a night and we all had the same good experience. The staff were nice, the hotel was clean and the location is great. The room was extremely quiet and the bed was very comfortable.
This hotel is clearly designed to provide excellent accommodation at an affordable price. The rooms are small but are comfortable and well designed, with excellent electric and electronic fittings. The bathrooms are impressively good. The hotel will provide a mini-fridge at a small extra cost. All in all, great value for money. The staff were very friendly and efficient and were happy to go out of their way to be helpful.
The Lower East Side is so much more unique than mid-town Manhattan and the Holiday Inn there is a fantastic place to stay for a quiet nights sleep, easy access to subways, great walking and wonderful nearby restaurants such as Spicy Village (Chinese) and Motorini (pizza), sushi and Indian (forgot the names of the last two). The hotel staff were all very nice, very responsive and kind. The best thing was how clean the place was--and how comfortable the bed and room set up. I am so grateful for the hospitality I was shown--especially since after checking in, I had to make a side trip outside of NYC, and then check back in. When I go back to NYC I will stay at this location again--it was that good!
We had plans to go to the Delancey to see live music. This location was perfect, about a block away. We were also walking distance for dinner in Little Italy. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. My only complaint is that there was no coffee in the a.m., only tea. Someone said they ran out. Went to the diner downstairs and they were so disorganized and pretty much ignored us so we left.
This hotel offers great value for money. It is clean and bright and comfortable. We were greeted by the friendly reception staff who throughout our stay were responsive to any requests. This is a very convenient location. So many well priced little eateries. Also handy to the subway. We were in New York as tourists on a family holiday with grown children. Using the subway meant that we were able to easily access the tourist areas while being out of the crowds found in that area. Our children appreciated the proximity (a walk) to music and comedy venues.
This hotel is extremely nice and cleanThe rooms are a good size unlike most hotel rooms on NYC. The location is perfect, the beds are extra comfortable. But hands down the best thing about this Holiday Inn LES is the General Manager Rosario Bianchi and his staff. Hands down, the staff is so welcoming, kind, extremely helpful and will go over and beyond to make you feel welcomed and comfortable! I stay here when I visit the city and totally recommend this hotel!
This was a bargain stay over the Christmas in Manhattan. Yes, its little bit far from the midtown but my main purpose of this trip was to shop in Soho and explore Chinatown area which was perfect. Staff was friendly from the moment of check-in to check-out. The room was larger than I expected since most of the hotel rooms that I stayed in NYC was really small. I especially loved the water pressure of the shower. Bathroom was clean but I normally do not like the coconut scent so didnt really use the shampoo and conditioner provided. The location was really good - subway right by that takes you everywhere in the city. It was tricky to get a cab but I used uber most of the time. Overall, great quality for the price and I would highly recommend this hotel.
Stayed over the long weekend, and had every expectation exceeded! I have stayed many times at hoilday inns near airports but never a downtown location. This hotel had all the familiar amenities from other locations, very reasonable room rates and an excellent location close to such a variety of restaurants and activities. The front desk staff accommodated our every need and were kind enough to recommend a lovely coffee shop. We were greeted every time we passed though the lobby. They made our stay feel like home. We will definitely be back.
Comfortable room in a clean modern building close to the subway. Our room was on the 5th floor facing an inner courtyard. Very quiet. Lots of power points and recharging stations in the room with copious bathroom amenities. The room safe, iron and ironing board were welcome. The room had just enough space to creatively store carry-ons and suitcases. Strong cold air-con with modern thermostat.Gym had a variety of dumbbells and adjustable bench.Staff were warm, caring and sincere. Good selection of recommended eating establishments nearby.Surrounding neighborhood sidewalks could use more attention by the city cleansing department but one never felt unsafe when walking back to the hotel at night. We would stay here again.
Expedient, well staffed empathetic and fair! This hotel was more accommodating than the Gatsby and Ridge hotel. The staff is culturally responsive and poignantly adept to understanding extenuating circumstances during the pandemic and tropical storm this early August. Without breaking policy, Achol and Dawn were able to honor one early checkin for me and also give me the courtesy of exchanging a cash deposit reserved for incidentals and allow me to use a debit card to free up a couple hundred dollars dollars I needed to make it through the flash flood and rain hazard warnings. By make it through, I mean I was able to place uber eats orders for my favorite staples—Chipotle and Starbucks. Even though the storm took out the Hotel’s TV service and I began to get bored... Stephanie, in her pearly white smile, reminded me I could connect my tablet to the wifi and stream my shows if I had a Netflix login etc. She also was clever as a whip and gave me three options to replace the broken iPhone cable when she overheard me complaining about when I accidentally crushed my charging cable as I was running over from the F train when the worst of the storm rolled through Lower East Side. In a one block radius, she provided two high cost options at retail mobile carrier stores (ATT and Verizon) and one lower cost option which worked perfect. 7-11 knows this Holiday Inn Express Staff is good and also wanted me to put in a good word ‘for their boy who work the early evening shift.’ I said okay, cuz he was giving me hourly updates on when the TV service was going to be fixed. And, above and beyond my expectations, told me the scope of the problem gave time estimate for resolution and contextualized the reason for any delay. I don’t know about y’all, but I know where my next stay will be. This hotel has immaculately clean rooms and clean lines. The towels are stark white and the bedding is just the right weight and fabric for a humid summer night. These details and the attention to not just my needs, but also my wants far outshine the accommodations and services provided to me in midtown manhattan, including but not limited to the AC Hotel, the City Club Hotel, the Knickerbocker Hotel, the Fairfield Inn and Suites, and other 3 and 4 star Hotels in the Time/Square midtown area, busiest parts of NYC. It just goes to show you, the newer developments with correct leadership have enough time to invest in training their staff properly. Kimpton affiliate hotels are doing it best these days, don’t stay anywhere else.. or I can guarantee my stays are better! :) Marriot Bon Voy, I’m sorry I won’t be able to use my points I racked up because I’ll be giving them away.
Good value for money. This is NYC, so if you are getting a chain brand hotel with good beds and clean rooms for decent money - you just won a lottery. Our room windows were facing Delancey, so we experienced ambient sounds of New York 24/7. I mean dump trucks revving, sirens blaring, cars honking incessantly. Lucky for us, we were dead tired by the end if the day, so it was just like having white noise: I fell asleep as soon as I hit the comfy bed. However, I recommend you ask for a room with windows having a quieter side.Shower handle was broken, but fixed quickly. Again, with my expectations of NYC hospitality being rock bottom, this was a very pleasant change. Overall, a decent hotel.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn - Lower East Side over Thanksgiving weekend 2014. The staff was as friendly and efficient as any Ive experienced anywhere. Room was comfortable - albeit somewhat small which is not surprising for a moderately priced hotel room in Manhattan. Very comfortable mattress, nice pillows. Overall cleanliness was excellent. Most notable was the friendly staff! We felt welcome and valued as a customer.
This was our first stay at the Holiday Inn LES, so we werent sure what to expect. The entrance to the hotel did not seem promising, as its barely noticeable on the block. Once inside though, our opinion quickly changed. Check-in was efficient and the staff were welcoming and friendly. That was our experience throughout our stay. The biggest surprise, and a delightful one, was how quiet the hotel is. Ive stayed in at least a dozen hotels in NYC over the past 25 years, and I think this one absolutely gets the prize for quiet. This was true in the hallways, outside and inside our room, and the lack of traffic/can noise at night. Extraordinary.
Small but newer room with nice shower. Desk was very accommodating but housekeeping goes home at 5. Restaurant was a total joke. Four of us waited 45 minutes for simple food and still nothing. There were only a couple other people in the restaurant so no excuse. Waitress never came back to refresh drinks or give an update on what was taking so long. We left.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn LES for five nights from July 29th through August 2nd. This hotel was perfect. The staff was very nice and accomodating. Our room was comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. The beds and pillows were very comfortable also. The lobby is nice and there are 2 or 3 PCs (free wifi) and a printer available for guest use. We had breakfast in the restaurant one monring and the wait staff was great and the food was good. The hotel is situated in a great area on LES and close to lots of great restaurants and bars. It is also right by the subway station (no walk at all) and that makes it very easy to get anywhere from there. China town and Little Italy are a very close walk from the hotel and have tons of great places to eat.We travel to NYC frequently and will make this our preferred place to stay.
I was here on business. Overall, the hotel is new and well-maintained. Rooms and hallways NY small, but I didnt feel claustrophobic. Very comfortable bed and clean, modern bathroom. The desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Only wish there was more to do in the neighborhood. Also, had sporadic luck hailing cabs. If I needed to be in the area again, I would definitely stay here.
Just a heads up: if youre taking a cab or using GPS DO NOT use the 150 Delancey address. Its not where the entrance is, instead use 96 Suffolk St. Trust me, youll thank me if youve got people and luggage to unload. Otherwise the hotel itself is great. The staff was nice, the rooms very clean. We ordered room service for 2 1/2 year old twins which came with ice cream. I asked them to hide the ice cream so we could possibly get them to eat first. They happily accommodated us (even though the twins outsmarted us all). Easy access to subways, restaurants, shops and parking facilities. Id absolutely stay here again.
This was not a standard IHG or Holiday Inn experience. Im not sure what happened here but one gets the feeling that many of the other guests arent use to staying in hotels, the room didnt have basic amentieis like a blanket, the refriqerator had remains from the prior guests, the room service (provided by an outsie vendor) was terrible and took too long and requires you to go to the lobby to claim it, etc. If the rate hadnt been so expensive, I might have been less disappointed but they charged for a standard hotel experience but provided a dive experience.
Our stay at this Holiday Inn was overall a good stay. All of the employees are very nice. There is no complementary continental breakfast, but there is a restaurant in the lower floor. There are tea bags and water available in the lobby. Our room was very small, but clean, European small. It was still comfortable as we were in the room only for sleeping. Good location, East Village, China Town or Little Italy about 30 minute walks.
The hotel is very close to the Metro, about only 50m from the nearest station. It is also very close to lots of great restaurants. Check in process was very pleasant as the counter staff were very friendly and takes their time to explain about the area and facilities of the hotel. The room was small but very comfortable. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. Room and bathroom is very clean and the room service does their job very well. However, road noise is pretty high and as it is New York, sirens could be heard every night. It would be better if the windows are double pane to insulate some of the road noise. Counter service staffs were very helpful too. I left a bag and passports in the room safe after check out and were on my way to Washington. I called the front desk and they quickly located the items and send it to me at the hotel where I was staying the next day. I am so grateful to them and they were just wonderful.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay. I really enjoyed staying in the Lower east side. The location is perfect, the area is fun, therere many nice bars, restaurants. The hotel location is perfect for those who going to NY by car.the staff were nice, helpful and affable. The only and main drawback of this hotel is that everytime someone closed a door, I would hear it in my room.Every morning it was the same (I stayed 3 nights) the noise of slaming doors would wake me up around 6 am and i would go on for 2-3 hours.I was disapointing for a new hotel.I am not sure I would go back there...but overall its a good quality for the value.
This hotel was in a quiet area of New York, and while this lengthened the time of travel to the main sight-seeing attractions we appreciated the lower level of bustle and noise. This is very much a basic hotel, but you are not paying for the added frills that many hotels have that you dont use. The quality of the staff was outstanding - they couldnt do enough to help and to try and satisfy our requests. Every ask was met with a smile. There was no concierge, but the receptionist staff were most helpful and knowledgeable. If I have one negative comment it is that I thought that the price was too much for what you got, but then this is New York. Altogether, a very happy stay and we would stay there again if we were visiting the Big Apple.
Given the subpar location -- i,e, a not very attractive neighborhood and not near any major attractions -- the price for a small 2 bedroom (over $300) was steep. However, the facility and its staff were excellent. Specifically, the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful throughout the stay. The furnishings and room decor were in good shape, clean and appropriately sized for the small, 2-bed room. The running water was hot, and the A/C and TV worked well. The neighborhood, while clearly (and expectedly) a lower-income section of town and rather unattractive -- e.g., pawn shop, smoke shop, check cashing outlets, much graffiti on walls, etc. -- it did not feel unsafe. There was mostly tourists, students, and perfectly middle-class looking people (of all ethnicities) roaming around. Within easy walking distance are decent restaurants in neighboring Chinatown and Little Italy, which I visited with my son. We did not feel at all uneasy walking back to the hotel at night; there were many people out and the streets are well lit.
Had a very pleasant experience at this hotel in October 2013. Me and a few friends of mine visited New York for the weekend for our Dance team performance. The hotel was very accommodating by letting us check in early, so we could change into our performance outfits and get ready for our show. After the show there were a few friends who walked back to the hotel with us so we could change & head out to dinner. The hotel staff were very nice by letting our friends sit in the warm lobby until we finished changing. The room was very very clean, everything in place, nice toiletries, hot water. Hotel is near metro/train station and there is a 24 hour 7/11 nearby and a few eatery places. My room was even upgraded since Im a IHG rewards member. I have an upcoming stay at the Wall Street Holiday Inn. I hope this place & staff are friendly and nice like the lower east end folks. Blessings.
We (two adults, one 15-years-old boy) spent three nights in this hotel. We chose it for two reasons: 1. Holiday Inn hotels usually have a good standard, 2. the location in the Lower Eastside was perfect to do the things we had planned (all in the southern part of Manhattan). But even if you want to go somewhere else, there are good connections (subway).Hotel staff was friendly, room clean and quiet. Breakfast does not really fit to people who are used to the Middle European style, but this is a very specific detail that we know well from the US.Overall a good place to stay! Thanks to the hotel staff!
Stayed here for 2 nights for a vacation trip. Location is great - easy subway ride to key tourist experiences like the Statue of Liberty, 9/11 Memorial, etc. Subway station is 1/2 block away and easily navigated. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance including the famous Katz Deli. Staff were very helpful and friendly including Ben and Tristan. This location / area of the city is not posh or upscale but its definitely diverse and happening. Room was comfortable and quiet.
Affordable, convenient, and functional! Our family recently stayed overnight in three rooms, each had two queen sized beds. We eight had breakfast in the dining room/restaurant in the morning, and it was delicious and convenient. We all recommend this hotel, its perfect for a quick overnight or weekend in the Big Apple, and one block from the F train/subway.
The room was not huge, but it was very nice, new looking and clean. We had two men in a room with two double beds and had no issues with the size of the room. It was quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is close to a subway station so it is convenient to get around. I will stay here again. I highly recommend this hotel for this part of town.
Pleasantly surprised at how spacious and comfortable my room was. Also, clean, modern, and high-tech. I was able to keep the room cool and dark at night, combined with an extremely comfortable bed, slept very well all 3 nights. The only negatives were that I would have liked a complimentary breakfast included and the exterior signage is relatively small and difficult to see from a cab or while walking. The Verizon signs are much larger and deceptive. Would definitely stay here again.
I frequently stay at hotels in Manhattan. Probably somewhere around once a month. Sometimes its much fancier boutique and chain hotels, and sometimes its the Holiday Inn. For a Holiday Inn this was pretty solid. Its a Holiday Inn so if you go in with super high expectations, thats your mistake. It was clean, check in and check out were fast, and the employees were nice.Another thing I really liked was the elevators. You were unable to use the elevator without a room key. I like this because some New York City hotels Ive stayed at have pretty lax security where anyone can take an elevator up to the guest rooms without even having to stop at the lobby. The noise level was also not much of an issue as well.Honestly, the price isnt exactly the best. At least not for the night I stayed here. Especially since Ive had rooms with much better views with the same (if not better) amenities for how much I paid. Also, the shower did not drain well in my room. This is a pet peeve of mine, but thankfully it wasnt terrible, just slightly slow draining. Since it was one night and one shower, I ignored it.
We were very happy with our stay at this Holiday Inn. It was very close to our sons apartment on the lower east side and also just around the corner from a subway stop. We were able to easily get to all parts of the city from this location. We really enjoyed the local Italian restaurants and many others. We always felt safe and on the morning we left for the airport, we had no problem getting a cab very quickly on the Delancey Street side of the hotel. The restaurant downstairs was never busy and the food there was good as well. The entire staff at the hotel were very responsive to any of our needs. We would definitely stay here again.
Stayed here for 5 nights during a business trip and though I found the room a little more snug than the photos let on, the room was immaculate and the beds were so comfy! The location of the hotel was fantastic, literally 2 minutes walk to the subway and surrounded by plenty of healthy and hearty food options and great little boutiques. Will definitely stay here again when in town and recommend to everyone.
We stayed at this hotel for our first visit in NYC amd we were very happy because the location is excellent, the subway station is half a block away and its perfect to relax after a long day of sight-seeing. The beds are comfortable and the room is very nice. The only con was that the coffee machine was never cleaned after we used it, seems that the housekeeper didnt even bother checking if it was clean. But other than that, we had a pleasant stay and would recommend the hotel for its great value!
Great location on Lower East Side - close to many restaurants and subway. Staff was very professional, friendly and helpful in terms of arranging transportation to the airport and coaching us on how to navigate the subway system. Restaurant offers a great breakfast. Room was very clean and comfortable - beautiful bathroom with large shower. Room was a good size compared to what you typically find in NYC.
Everything about this hotel was perfect except we were unlucky with our air conditioning unit. It was very noisy and we couldn’t switch it off. It blew cold air all night. We hardly slept because of the noise. We chose not to leave the hotel room in the early hours to complain but did mention it to the front desk in the morning. The staff at this hotel were friendly and helpful. I’m sure if we’d have been staying a second night they would have addressed and fixed the issue.
I understand the negative impact of COVID-19, but balancing between quality and quantity is paramount during rough times. I’m writing this complaint because my experience was below expectations. I could not rest and decided to check out on the same day due to (hygiene issues and unbelievable noise) from the house keeping staff. The check-in agent was very nice though, but the evening receptionist could not attend to my request and refused to refund me my money because I did not stay for the night and checked out on the same day.
The hotel was fairly priced and very comfortable to stay in this facility. The room was spacious and the temperature settings were true. Staff was courteous and knowledgeable and they were very understanding about our arrival time and everything done at the front desk was done quickly and accurately
Fantastic hotel in a great neighborhood. The room was spotless, the staff was top notch and very friendly. The location is great with lots of cool eaterys and Hangouts within easy walking distance. The shower had pretty good water pressure and loads of super hot water.
I stayed here in November and it was pretty nice all the way around. It felt above average for the the cleanliness. We were able to check our luggage at the counter before our checkin even though there is limited space in the lobby and do so when checking out and our flight wasnt till late. So the staff is very welcoming as well.
We had a wonderful experience at this small comfortable, facitlity with nice amenities. The front office staff, particularly Wanda, went out of the way to help and guide us with print out directions, information and help securing additional nights. The room was very clean and quiet. The facility has the feel of a neighborhood pension, with international visitors, well equipt with nice restaurant and great location, 1 block from Subway. I couldnt have picked a better, reasonably priced hotel for our 4 days in Manhatten, and I will come back as soon as feasible.
This hotel was in a great location, the price was one of the most reasonable I found in my search of the whole city, it was close to the subway and a gazillion bars and restaurants. Very fun neighborhood to walk around in. The hotel front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, as were all other support staff! The rooms were extremely clean. During my stay, the hair dryer broke, but was replaced quickly! I would most definitely stay here again!!!!!!

2022-05-05The location is terrific. The staff is wonderful - polite, and efficient, and the place is very clean. The room is well laid out and has all amenities you could want, including a coffeemaker, microwave, and fridge. I am extremely sensitive to noise, and I knew a quiet room in NYC would be tough to find. I got a deluxe king on the 6th floor facing Suffolk Street, which is considered less traffic than rooms facing Delancey. Even so, with earplugs and the double-paned windows, the noise was tough for me. The manager took my feedback beautifully. For my next stay, I will get a smaller room facing the courtyard, so no street noise.

2022-04-17I enjoyed my time at this hotel! Everything was clean and every staff member I spoke to was friendly. I stayed in a single room and I think the size of the room may be a bit small for more than a couple. There are other room options, however, which I didnt get to see, that might be better for families. The hotel does advertise a restaurant, but I followed the signs for it when I was there and didnt see one. It may have been closed due to COVID. The did have a room service menu that you could order from via QR code and although I didnt use, it looked good. The location is great. The Lower East Side is a diverse and fun neighborhood to explore. If you intended to do a lot of sight seeing further uptown, this location may not be the best choice, but its just a block away from a subway stop so theres plenty of access.Overall I thought this was a nice hotel. Its definitely not fancy, but its clean and comfortable and I thought it was a great value for the price.

2021-11-18Great location and accommodation for our budget. Close to good eats and the Essex Market is only a two block walk. Beds were very comfortable, room was clean, and well accessorized. Only downside was they didnt replace linens every day. We did request them daily, and the staff was happy to supply them. Overall, its a nice place and I would stay there again.

2022-04-09GoodFor the price, you can almost exactly extract the difference in cost of living to other cities. That is to say, its like a $90/night hotel in the median city. Staff are friendly in my experience, if just *slightly* amateurish. Nothing major, totally reasonable. Room is small as expected, no frills

2022-06-19This is a high-risk neighborhood. Crime, violence. An incident at the hotel in the fairly recent past involved someone shooting into the lobby. (Luckily, no one hit.) Hotel security guard - who clearly recognized me as a guest during my 9-day stay there - refused to buzz me into the lobby. Arbitrarily. At his whim. That left me standing in the alcove that was open to anybody while I fished out my key-card and attempted to swipe it in the unreliable key-reader. That increased risk for me on the street trying to enter the hotel. His reason? Who knows. Looked very much like passive-aggressive behavior.

2022-05-11The rooms are very clean with refrigerator, microwave, and coffeemaker. Near subway and food market. Taxi/Uber to and from the airport is usually less than 30 minutes (depending on traffic). Staff is friendly and welcoming.

2022-05-09Nice, room was very clean. Had lots of outlets and cable plug-ins. Close to the subway. Wi-Fi was a bit off, worked fine on my tablet but not on my phone (both Android devices).
